the thing that the one with the whales does so well is that they really pay attention to all the little details!!!! like spock’s “colourful metaphors” that he just slips in and you have to pay attention to catch all of them, Kirk’s little expressions, all the snippets of jokes and interactions between characters, the worldbuilding!!!!! it’s not just about the main cast we get so much insight to the other ships and the people in starfleet control and the worldbuilding that comes from that is so valuable for the universe and it creates such a full picture of what’s going on!! I love love love how much thought went into this film it’s beautiful

Y'all my closet trekkies knowledge came in handy at work today.
So I'm writing up a draft of how to safely hook up items for testing so it's easier for my volunteers/coworkers to do. And I asked my boss to fill in a mental gap I had about hooking up the electrical cords and look what he put
Tumblr media
Which of course I filled in as shown! He knew I liked trek but didn't know I was THAT big of a trek fan, and that this is my fav ST film.

"Although it could have used more drama, the Kirk/Decker arrangement is actually shown to work. Decker’s knowledge of the ship saves them from the asteroid in that wormhole. Nevertheless, Kirk’s experience gets them through the mission. Throughout the film Decker displays an overwhelming amount of caution worthy of General George McClellan from the US Civil War. Decker isn’t alone, a lot of the crew feel that way. In fact, Kirk is almost the only person on the entire crew who understands the magnitude of the threat that V’ger makes to Earth. The movie is already slow moving but it is amazing that the crew has such a lack of urgency considering the threat to the homeworld of most of them. If Decker had been left in command, they never would have penetrated the cloud and Earth’s population would have been wiped out. Good job, Captain Kirk."

Episode 145: Picard v. Cosplay Dr. Evil
Star Trek: Nemesis
We've come to the end of the mostly-trash TNG movie era, but it is not going to go out quietly. Instead it's going to assault us with bad attempts at being Shakespearean and a mind-numbingly long and dull space battle. Even Tom Hardy's luscious lips can't save Nemesis.
Also this week: deleted scenes, wait this was written by WHO?!, and ranking the Prime Timeline films!
Timestamps: Nemesis: 0:47; Movies wrap up: 1:04:43

PICARD: Someone once told me that time was a predator that stalked us all our lives, but I'd rather believe that time is a companion who goes with us on the journey and reminds us to cherish every moment, because they'll never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we've lived. After all Number One, we're only mortal. RIKER: Speak for yourself sir, I plan to live forever.
