My Star Trek crew since other people have posted theirs, I can’t draw
Ship: USS Requiem (Odyssey Class)
Captain: Maria J. Rodriguez (Human) [Afrolatina, dyed blue hair, fairly cultured and well traveled throughout the galaxy. Extremely strong sense of Justice. Pansexual. Secretly a temporal agent displaced from the mid-23rd century to the 24th century circa TNG season 2. Relaxed but professional attitude, tries to be the fun boss. Can tell corny jokes sometimes, decent ish sense of humor. Deeply committed friend.]
First Officer: Tarsi (Andorian) [Skilled combatant, close to much of the senior staff. Keeps things light with her friends, and tries to be non-intimidating with the crew, but doesn’t always succeed. She’s tall. Crackshot sniper with a phaser rifle. Enjoys visiting Earth. Always trying to make sure every away team member comes back. Has a bit of a crush on T’Met.]
Chief Science Officer: T’Met (Vulcan) [Compassionate, in a Vulcan sort of way. Enjoys learning about other cultures. Field medical training. Strong belief in the sanctity of life. Has read up on Spock and tries to embrace his methodology of embracing one’s emotions in conjunction with logic rather than in conflict with it. Wide pallet when it comes to food, can no-sell the freshest Gagh and the spiciest hasperat. Dry wit. Lesbian. Has a lirpa in her quarters should melee combat become necessary during an encounter, is training Tarsi to use it as well. Prefers Bajoran-style phasers but is willing to abide Starfleet regulations. Studied via a blended education between the Vulcan Science Academy and Starfleet Academy.]
Chief Engineer: Skavrin (Tellarite) [Grouchy. Knows what he’s doing and won’t let you forget it. Has a lot of faith in his engineering staff. Keeps to himself. Lost family in the Dominion War. Distrustful of Romulans and Cardassians, but enjoys Klingons as far as races stereotyped as enemies of the Federation go. Picky eater. Starship enthusiast.]
Chief of Security: Sa’Ruk (Kelpien) [Pre-Vahari, worrisome and fearful. Double and triple checks his work. Safety of the crew is top priority. Occasionally clashes with tactical officer Naovi]
Chief Tactical Officer: Evrosa Naovi (Betazoid) [somewhat cold, very disciplined. Uses her powers to stay one step ahead of potential enemies, refusing to be caught unawares. Skilled investigator, often coordinates with Sa’Ruk. Pansexual but not looking for a relationship at start of the series. Determined to protect the crew and ship, but has few friends. Other members of the senior staff think she could open up a bit.]
Ship’s Counselor: Arzia Jal (Joined Trill) [has lived seven past lives, uses those experiences to assist in her duties as a councilor, similar to Ezri but far more experienced. Very patient and kind, usually trying not to push peoples’ comfort zones. Willing to voice her opinions, especially when she thinks the Captain needs to hear them. Keeps a look out for everyone on the crew. Knows her way in a fight despite her non-combat role. Has a fun side when off duty. Pansexual. I swear when I flesh this character out in fics she’ll be less Dax lmao]
Chief Medical Officer: Surjan Antos (Cardassian) [Section 31 agent with his job on the crew as his cover story. Former Obsidian Order agent who had his wake-up during the Dominion War. Deeply regretful of the past actions of bimself and his people and seeks redemption through aiding the Federation, who he sees as the only galactic power with the interests of the Alpha Quadrant as a whole at heart. Extremely skilled surgeon, cordial bedside manner. Unusual methods derived from improvised measures to save dignitaries and other Order agents from assassinations. Does not want the crew to find out the truth about him because he genuinely values their friendship and doesn’t want to break their trust.]
Transporter Chief: Benn “Niko” Nikolai (Bolian, adopted by humans) [Light Russian accent. Generally amicable. Tries to keep things light, so-so comedic yield. Likes a good story.]
Armory Officer: T’Kol (Klingon) [old friends with the captain, they met during the Dominion War. The honor of his Federation allies inspired him to join Starfleet. Deeply respectful to his allies and disciplined. Keeps a personal collection of Klingon melee weapons and offers training in them to anyone willing. Enjoys sparring with Tarsi and Naovi. Often coordinates with security and tactical.]
Ops Officer: Sola Val (Bajoran) [Relatively young, saw the tail end of the Cardassian occupation of Bajor. Joined the Bajoran Militia to defend her home as soon as she was old enough, and is deeply committed to that home. She was inspired to join Starfleet by the example of the Emissary. Believes in protecting as many lives as possible. While taking on more technical duties aboard the Requiem, she will volunteer for a combat mission readily. As a significant cultural item, she carries a sword with a hilt sculpted after the symbol of the Bajoran people. Extremely loyal to her friends. Despises any form of fascism but does not hate Cardassians as a race, unlike many Bajorans with lingering scars. Self sacrificial perhaps to a fault. Doesn’t go out of her way to impress the captain but is pleased when it happens.]
Helm Officer: Akira Sulu (Human) [grandson, maybe great-grandson depending on timing, of Hikaru Sulu, wishes to live up to his family’s history of piloting starships. Good guy but pressures himself a lot]
Communications Officer: Evelyn Sevea (Human) [sarcastic sense of humor. Academy friend of the captain, also a temporal agent. In her less conspicuous position she is able to dedicate more time to this in comparison, and will pull the captain aside if it’s important. Skilled at decryption and message retrieval. Studying xenolinguistics.”
Head of Astrometrics: Syzen (Saurian) [explorer at heart, loves seeing and charting the stars. Believes the Galaxy is a beautiful place and is grateful to Starfleet for being able to see it. Not much of a fighter, but a kind soul.]
Starfleet Intelligence Liaison: Kiyla VanZyl (Trill) [Friendly and casual, but guarded with information. Un-joined. Very serious when the situation calls for it. Coordinates with Admiral Tuvok. Section 31 connections. Always tries to complete the mission. Would give her life to protect the Federation.]
Morale Officer: Ch’Lex (Denobulan) [enjoys creating holodeck programs. Chipper. Good sense of humor. Great with kids, they love the funny faces. Combat trained and serious when the situation calls for it. Not afraid to speak up to the captain.
Ship’s Bartender: Ch’toh (Klingon) [he’s old and tells stories. Enjoys sharing Klingon culture with outsiders, believing they should not hide all they have to offer.]
Terrance Edwards (Terran) [he works in engineering. He fled from the mirror universe to escape the Alliance. His prime universe counterpart was on a ship assimilated by the Borg, his cover story is that he was the only survivor. He genuinely wants to serve in Starfleet, but fears if he is discovered to be otherdimensional he’ll be sent back. Eventually discovered and forced to formally request asylum, which he’s shocked to realize was an option. Uneasy around Klingons and Cardassians, which he claims his due to trauma from the brief 2370s Federation-Klingon War and the Dominion War as part of his cover. Requests medical treatment from nurses, especially uneasy around Doctor Antos. Avoids T’Kol and the ship’s bar whenever possible. Generally very nervous, but dependable. He loves replicators, and deeply enjoys the idea of never going hungry again.]
Security Personnel:
Skye Parker (Human) [Wife of the captain, white and transfem. She joined Starfleet relatively later in life than most and is thus only a Lieutenant. Protective but tries to give her wife space. Fairly casual demeanor. Good at her job but not incredibly concerned with ranking up. Sense of humor pairs well with her wife’s. Down to earth. Responsible]
R’Vek (Reman) [Reman freedom fighter affiliated with the revolutionary leader Obisek. Admired the crew of the Requiem during a joint operation and decided to join them, gaining a field commission in Starfleet. Disciplined and honorable.]
T’Lira (Vulcan) [Diligent. Thoughtful. Steadfast. Dutiful. Thorough.]

Watching Star Trek IV
Whale biologist: why do you hang around with that weird guy who calls you admiral and why are you so close?
Kirk: *hesitates*
Whale biologist, who lives in San Francisco in the 80s and is rapidly drawing many correct conclusions: that’s okay we don’t have to talk about it.

I’m still freaking out about Spock Prime’s TOS crew photo from Beyond
Tumblr media
Yes, I know this is 8 years old at this point but my Autistic Brain decided to freak out about this again today for no reason at all so hear me out bc it drives me absolutely NUTS every time I think about it.
So basically, the circumstances required for Reboot Spock to find this photo in Spock Prime’s possessions after he died are absolutely wild. Let’s walk through it shall we:
First thing to remember is that this photo does not exist in the Kelvin timeline. At all. The characters all look different and even if they’re supposed to canonically grow up to look exactly the same as the TOS characters, Spock Prime went back in time from his own universe so the photo cannot exist in the Kelvin timeline, at least yet.
Second thing is that Spock Prime must have carried this photo on his person when he went back in time in the jellyfish ship.
Tumblr media
This is because Nero captured Spock (and his ship) and stranded him on Delta Vega, presumably with nothing but the clothes on his back and whatever else he might happen to have been carrying in his pockets.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, he couldn’t have stored the photo on his ship to retrieve later because Reboot Spock blew it up to ignite the red matter and destroy Nero’s ship. So whatever Spock Prime brought with him from the Prime Universe must have been on his person when he was stranded on Delta Vega.
Tumblr media
Now, when Spock first sees Reboot Kirk in the cave, he says the classic “I have been and always shall be your friend” along with “It is remarkably pleasing to see you again, old friend.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If we take a peek at the timeline for a sec, Kirk Prime disappeared into the Nexus in Star Trek: Generations in the year 2293, when everyone presumably thought he died. Now, Kirk did reappear into ‘normal space/time’ in the year 2371 when the rest of Generations takes place, but only Picard really saw Kirk before he died for real—so basically, the last time Spock could have seen Kirk Prime was in 2293. In the Prime Universe, the Romulan star went supernova in 2387, which is when Spock Prime goes back and creates the Kelvin Timeline.
SO: all this means that it has been at least 94 years (2293-2387) since Spock Prime has seen a Kirk in any universe. THEREFORE: this means that Spock Prime was carrying THAT TOS CREW PHOTO on his person 94 years after the last time he had seen Kirk. Whether he had been carrying it on his person for the entirety of those 94 years, or just during his mission to try and save Romulus, or something in between is anyone’s guess. But basically, even almost a century later, Spock thought those people and that photo were important enough to take with him on his body when he was sent to save Romulus. (A mission that required extreme speed and efficiency, if I might add).
ANYWAY: the photo in Beyond is shown as a rather small, yet touching, moment of nostalgia for fans of the original Star Trek show, but when you really start to think about what was required for that photo to exist in Reboot Spock’s possession at that moment, it just starts to drive me a little bit absolutely bonkers.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. Have a nice day.

On a lighter note I also think this guys have a really fun group dynamic
Wild reckless swaggering pirate captain
Tired of this shit committed Everyman
The Vulcan/adult in the room, voice of reason
Loudmouth asshole (he’d get so pissed if you told him that the other him is a doctor)
“I am Rom, Son of Keldar. You killed my brother, prepare to die”
Super nice scientist lady who’s a little shady and just over divorce drama at this point
Casual horny freak just tryna make life fun (in a less murdery way compared to Intendant Kira)
And of course, the obnoxiously in love PDA lesbians who also snark at everyone
Shout out the rebels. They were hopeless, they were beaten down. People in the utopia dismiss their world as intrinsically evil.
But they stood up. They fought back.
Feel like this energy is needed right now

Remember how in statistical probabilities how everyone just thought it was chill to sit there and debate whether augments should be allowed to be doctors and such with Bashir, the augment who'd repeatedly saved their lives? Remember how Bashir's déshumanisation is treated as so reasonable that Bashir doesn't even challenge it? That he's so alienated from everyone like him, he's not even allowed to be angry at being mistreated and excluded for something that isn't even his fault? That no one is ever fully in Bashir's corner?

Tournament Details:
Teams compete in multiple games against other teams and the team with the most overall wins is the tournament winner.
The game is played in a large outdoor area with plenty of cover (trees, hills, etc.) divided in half into “territories” belonging to the two different teams.
The objective of the game is to find and retrieve the other team’s flag (which they have hidden somewhere) and return it to your own team’s base before the other team finds your flag.
Teams can hide their flags anywhere on their territory provided that the flag is visible from at least one angle standing on the ground at average height.
While on the opposing team’s territory, a player can be tagged by an opposing team member, at which point they are then “taken prisoner” to the opposing team’s base and must remain there until a member of their own team comes to free them by tagging them.
Physical combat other than tagging isn’t allowed. Injuring another player is grounds for disqualification.
No phasers, tricorders, communicators, transporters, or any other technology are allowed (with an exception for technology integrated into particular characters such as Seven’s implants or technological disability accommodations like Geordi’s visor).
Cheating teams are disqualified from that game, which is equivalent to a loss (assuming they’re caught cheating, of course).
For the purposes of this tournament, it can be assumed that all characters have all of the knowledge and experience they gained over the course of their respective shows, are reasonably aware of all opposing team member’s abilities, and are all equally motivated to win the tournament.
