Top 5 Dua for Finding a Good Spouse: How to Attract the Right Partner in Islam
Finding the right spouse is a significant aspect of a fulfilling life. For many Muslims, turning to dua for a good spouse is a way to seek divine assistance in finding a loving and compatible partner.
In Islam, a good spouse is considered a blessing, and supplications are believed to help in attracting a partner who aligns with one's values and spiritual goals. This blog explores the top 5 dua for finding a good spouse and offering spiritual guidance for a good marriage.
Tumblr media
1. Dua for a Good Spouse
The Dua for a Good Spouse is a powerful supplication that asks Allah for a spouse who will bring happiness, support, and strength into one's life. This dua is often recited by individuals seeking a life partner who aligns with their values and Islamic teachings. One of the most recommended duas for this purpose is:
"Allahumma inni as'aluka min khayri ma sa'alaka abduka wa rasuluka, wa a'udhu bika min sharri ma'adhuka minhu abduka wa rasuluka."
This translates to: “O Allah, I ask You for the good of what Your servant and Prophet asked You for, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what Your servant and Prophet sought refuge from.
Reciting this dua regularly with sincerity can help attract a spouse who is not only good in character but also supportive and loving.
2. Islamic Prayer for a Good Partner
An Islamic Prayer for a Good Partner involves supplicating Allah for a spouse who will contribute positively to one’s life and faith. A widely recommended prayer for this purpose is:
"Rabbi la tatharni fardan wa anta khayru al-waritheen."
Translation: “My Lord, do not leave me alone (without a helper) while You are the best of inheritors.”
This prayer emphasizes trust in Allah’s ability to provide and highlights the belief that Allah’s plan is always for the best. This dua can be recited daily, especially during moments of reflection and devotion.
3. Dua for Finding a Loving Spouse
The Dua for Finding a Loving Spouse focuses on seeking Allah’s help in finding a partner who will offer love, compassion, and understanding. One effective dua is:
"Allahumma a'ini 'ala khairin qad yusafiq, wa ad'u ilayka bi-hubbih."
Translation: “O Allah, help me to find the best (spouse) who will be kind to me, and guide me to love him/her.”
This supplication helps in finding someone who will not only be a loving partner but also someone who aligns with your spiritual and personal values.
4. Effective Dua for a Good Husband/Wife
An Effective Dua for a Good Husband/Wife can help in finding a spouse who will be a true partner in both worldly and spiritual matters. One such dua is:
"Allahumma inni as'aluka ridhaaka wal-jannah, wa a'udhu bika min sakhatika wa al-nar."
Translation: “O Allah, I ask You for Your pleasure and paradise, and I seek refuge in You from Your anger and the Fire.”
This dua reflects a desire for a spouse who is not only good in character but also someone who helps you achieve spiritual goals. It signifies a commitment to seeking a partner who will support you in both this life and the hereafter.
5. Spiritual Guidance for a Good Marriage
Lastly, Spiritual Guidance for a Good Marriage encompasses more than just specific duas. It involves seeking overall guidance from Allah and engaging in actions that align with Islamic teachings. An excellent practice is to make istikhara, which is the prayer for seeking Allah’s guidance in making decisions, including choosing a spouse.
The istikhara dua is:
"Allahumma inni ista'khiruka bi'ilmika, wa astaqdiruka biqudratika, wa as'aluka min fadlikal-azim."
Translation: “O Allah, I seek guidance from Your knowledge, and I seek strength from Your power, and I ask You for Your immense favor.”
This dua can be recited when you are contemplating marriage, helping you make decisions that align with what is best for your life.
Process for Performing the Dua for a Good Spouse
Prepare Yourself Spiritually: Begin by purifying your heart and intentions. Perform wudu (ablution) and ensure that you are in a clean and quiet place where you can focus on your prayer.
Make the Dua: Recite the dua with sincerity and conviction. For example, you can use:
"Allahumma inni as'aluka min khayri ma sa'alaka abduka wa rasuluka, wa a'udhu bika min sharri ma'adhuka minhu abduka wa rasuluka."
Translation: “O Allah, I ask You for the good of what Your servant and Prophet asked You for, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what Your servant and Prophet sought refuge from.”
Be Specific: As you recite the dua, be specific about your needs and desires in a spouse. You may add personal requests or attributes you are seeking in a partner.
Pray Regularly: Make this dua a regular part of your prayers. The more consistent you are, the more it reflects your sincere desire and faith in Allah’s help.
Trust in Allah: After making the dua, place your trust in Allah’s wisdom and timing. Have faith that Allah will provide the best outcome for you, even if it might not be immediately apparent.
Take Action: While making the dua is crucial, also engage in practical steps towards finding a spouse, such as networking, seeking advice, or considering matrimonial options, while keeping your intentions clear and sincere.
Seek Guidance: Complement your dua with istikhara prayer if you are contemplating a specific match. This will help you seek Allah’s guidance in making the best decision.
By following these steps, you align your prayers with proactive efforts, creating a balanced approach to finding a good spouse.
Conclusion
Finding a good spouse is a journey that involves both seeking divine assistance and taking practical steps. The above duas provide spiritual support in this quest, offering guidance and help in finding a loving and compatible partner. By incorporating these prayers into your daily routine and trusting in Allah’s plan, you can attract a spouse who will bring joy and fulfillment to your life.

part i.
When your parents joined Eywa’s embrace and you only had your grandfather as your own remaining kin, you knew your life wouldn’t be yours to live. He often said you have an immense potential for greatness, that you were born to lead. You have been expected to accomplish a lot since you were an ‘eveng, and your grandfather saw something in you that he believes would help the clan.
He’s a vital elder who wields power under the olo-ekytan, helping in the matters of the clan. You knew his ambition for you and your family, but you never once complained for you know what is your duty and responsibility.
“I’m doing this for you, paskalin. You are born for this, and Eywa bears witness.” He once told you, when you refused his proposal to study under the Tsahik as a tsakarem.
He cupped your face, “I’m running out of time, paskalin. I’m doing this to ensure that once I embrace Eywa’s loving arms, you would be in good hands.”
He thought the only way to ensure that you live a good life is to set you up with the olo-eyktan’s oldest son. When you heard of it, you wanted to disagree, thinking everybody else would too. You didn’t expect that in one typical eclipse, Olo-eyktan would call you and look at you with approval. “You will grow up into a fine young woman. Learn well under the Tsahik. Do you understand me, girl?”
You agreed, sneaking a glance at the Tsahik and saw her looking at you with an unreadable expression. She actually never consented, at least verbally, but she also didn’t protest it. She was just watching you, assessing your worth like she would do herbs and medicinal plants.
“Mother is not one who speaks a lot. Her lack of protest is her answer, you know that right? I’m excited for your tsaheylu with Ao’nung, tsmuke. You would make a fine mother and Tsahik of the clan.” Tsireya exclaimed when she learned about your engagement.
You find it ironic how your clansmen says they know you, of what you will become, but never once heard your silent scream for freedom. They never picked up on the fact that you weren’t happy at this arrangement. But then again, does happiness even matter when duty and responsibility hold the clan together?
“Is there even a problem?” Ao’nung asked you when confronted him about the issue. He seems genuinely perplexed as to why you kept asking him about his thoughts. Then you understood. The reason why the olo-eyktan and the Tsahik agreed wasn’t because of your potential to become a Tsahik. It was always about Ao’nung and his thoughts, and it should've made you flattered. That the future olo-eyktan finds you suitable to lead the clan side by side by him. But it only made the burden on your shoulders heavier.
Eywa was the last one you sought. You asked her for guidance, a hint of what future holds for you. But she only said to wait. That its not the time yet, so you compromised. You accepted everything and remained silent.
Never expecting in one typical wild day for your life to change forever.
When you heard the familiar call of the horn, you didn’t hesitate to ride your ilu back to the shore. You still many herbs you need to pick, but you knew by the sound that something major had happened in awa’atlu. Whatever that is, the sound of the call seems urgent, requiring the attention of the everybody. When you looked above the surface, you happen to see several figures with skin shades darker than regular people of awa’atlu. Not far behind ere banshees you rarely see in the ocean. Your people were surrounding these darker Na’vis, murmurs and gasps could be heard across the beach.
You saw Tsireya not far away, also riding her ilu, so you decided to whistle to get her attention.
“Who are those, Tsmuke?” You asked her when she came near you.
“I don’t know yet, tsmuke. We must hurry.”
You saw the people making way for Ao’nung and Roxto, who the two foreign boys greeted with politeness but was met with disrespectful snickering.
“Look, what is that? Is that supposed to be a tail?” You heard Roxto speak in Na’vi, wanting to touch the tail of one of the guests. This earned a look from the two boys. Ao’nung laughed at Roxto’s comment, seemingly agreeing to his friend, making you frown. What a skxawng! Is this how a future olo-eyktan should act to guests?
Tsireya and you reached ashore, pulling the attention of the darker na’vis into your direction. At this moment, your eyes met with golden ones of the tallest among the children. His eyes seems piercing, scrutinizing you before giving you a small smile with intensity that you froze and stopped walking.
Tsireya didn’t fail to notice this as she giggled, whispering to you. “Tsmuke, let’s go.”
You cleared your throat and looked away from those golden eyes, your heart still racing, wanting to beat out of your chest for reason you cannot understand. Mawey, there’s no reason to be afraid. They are the guests, not you.
Thinking once is not enough, Roxto opened his mouth again, “It’s too small, how are they supposed to swim?”
You eyed Roxto with contempt, thinking to yourself. Did it not occur to you that they are not Reef Na’vi? Skxawng.
Tsireya, who’s nearer to the Roxto, swatted his pointing fingers and warned. “Do not, Roxto, Ao’nung.” Before smiling to the two. It didn’t escape your eyes and ears when one of them softly mumbled a greeting towards your sister that made her giggle.
You took this chance to hide among the people as they gathered around the visitor, observing them with fascination. You have seen Na’vi in this color, most of them are land Na’vi, thus their difference in terms of skin color and tail shape. Their arms were thin, unlike the reef people’s wide forearms.
When you heard your clansmen’s whispers, you couldn’t help the gasps that escaped you. It is actually Toruk Makto and his family, the Omatikaya people!
Your heart raced even further as you watched the father of this foreign forest na’vis, the Toruk Makto Jakesuli that defeated the sky demons and brought victory and peace among several clans. It is a tale that your grandfather often tells you at night when you cannot sleep. He must be the eldest son of Toruk Maktob and his mate Neytiri te Tsakaha Mo’at’ite then. That’s why you felt like that because he’s the son of a mighty warrior and he himself had passed his iknimaya.
You wondered what made Toruk Makto and his family come here in awa’atlu. What could be their reason for visiting a clan from so far away, with lots of baggages and storages in their ikrans. Thankfully, the olo-eyktan has finally arrived in his tsurak along with several hunters and warriors. He landed in front of the Sully family, greeting them with respect. The Tsahik has also arrived, giving you a glance as she passed by you. You knew what that glance meant. She wanted you to be infront, to accompany Ao’nung.
You wordlessly followed her. You tried to ignore the prickling sensation directed towards you as you emerged in front in Ronal’s tow, ignoring the shiver that went down to your spine when you stood face to face with the oldest sully son.
“Why do you come to us, Jakesuli?” Tonowari’s deep voice silenced all the awa’atlu people, all wanting to hear Toruk Makto’s response.
Jake looked at his family and spread his arms wide, “We seek uturu!”
You can hear the collective gasps of your clansmen, the suddenly shift in Ronal’s tail movements indicated her disbelief and displeasure, “Uturu?”
The rest were a blur to you as you looked down at the sand in your feet. Uturu has been asked, and no matter how Ronal dislikes the idea of Na’vis with demon blood seeking asylum in awa’atlu, tradition is not something to be questioned. Safe harbor was requested, and Tonowari shall deliver.
“Teach them our ways so they do not suffer the shame of being useless. My son Ao’nung and my daughter Tsireya will show your children what to do.”
You watched Tsireya guide the Sullys into the village, while Ao’nung looked displeased at his father before looking at you pointedly. You nodded at him with a smile, which made him roll his eyes and follow Tsireya.
“Girl,” Ronal called you.
“Yes, Tsahik.” You bowed your head respectfully as her hand landed on your shoulder.
“Watch over Ao’nung, make sure he does no mistake that will disgrace the clan.” Without waiting for your response, she walked away along with the Olo-eyktan, talking in hushed tones. You watched them silently before looking at the direction where Tsireya and the Sully family walked to.
Tumblr media
Neteyam watched the forest slowly faded away from his sight, as they bravely faces the unknown future of their family. No matter how it hurts him to leave his home, Sullys have to stick together. They couldn’t afford losing another one of their family under Quatrich’s knife, and endanger the Omatikaya People for the second time. Their people had lost too much.
He looked at his father, who seems to have aged a lot overnight. His distressed mother who’s forced to leave the place she had spent her life protecting, his youngest sister nestled in her bosom, confused and sad leaving her grandmother alone. His brother Lo’ak who has been silent all the way, still blaming himself for getting his siblings under the enemy’s hand, and Kiri who’s reluctant to leave her ma behind.
And him… who spent his life striving to become a warrior like his father, excelling as the future olo-eyktan of Omatikaya.
The return of the sky demons changed their future into something unrecognizable. Neteyam hated it, he hated not being able to see what future holds for him and his family now that they were forced to leave. All his life, he had everything under control (except Lo’ak) and at least he had a grasp of what’s supposed to happen.
Can they really adapt like his father said? Will the Metkayina accept their request for uturu? What could be waiting for them in unfamiliar environment they have never been exposed to?
They are not meant to be in the ocean. They are forest people, meant to be swinging through vines and flying their ikrans until eclipse. They are meant to fight with bows and arrows, not with spears. Fight in the forest, not the ocean.
Neteyam cannot help but to doubt, helplessness emerged from his heart and clouded his vision.
“Trust Eywa’s plans, Neteyam. She will guide you to the right path. Do not fear, for she will be there to watch over us.” Mo’at told him the night before their flight, giving him a small smile and a tight hug, assuring him that there’s always light at the end of the darkness. Eywa’s light.
Metkayina people are different from Omatikaya in many ways. Not only their physical appearance, but also their way of life. Neteyam wasn’t afraid to admit that they were beautiful.
Especially you. The moment he laid eyes on you, he felt his heart skip a beat, a flutter on his stomach that made him flustered internally. When your gaze connected with his, he couldn’t help but to hold his breath. He kept staring at you, tracing your features and wanting to catch your eyes, but you seem to avoid his, hiding yourself amongst your people.
Neteyam felt his stomach flip as realization dawned on him. Perhaps, you also thought him and his family are weird, so you hid yourself. Neteyam looked away, confused by his own reaction. Lo’ak seems to pick it up as he gave Neteyam a knowing look. Neteyam gave him a glare, thinking that Lo’ak is just the same as him, flustered when Tsireya and you emerged from the shallow waters.
Neteyam calmed his racing heart and thoughts, attributing it as tiredness. It didn’t help that he’s also on edge due to the Metkayina’s reaction towards him and his family, especially when Tonowari questioned his father about the war against the sky people. He wanted to talk but a simple flick of tail from his father stopped him.
When he saw you behind Ronal and stood face to face with him, he wanted to greet you, but you never once looked at him, simply staring at the sand in your feet. Ronal began questioning his sibling’s blood as Na’vi, making him angry but unable to do anything, so he directed his gaze at you. Thinking it was the reason for your refusal to look at him in the eyes.
“Teach them our ways so they do not suffer the shame of being useless. My son Ao’nung and my daughter Tsireya will show your children what to do.”
It didn’t escape Neteyam’s eyes when Lo’ak smiled at Tonowari’s words. Making him wonder about you. Are you not Tonowari’s daughter? Why are you with Ronal?
He looked at you one last time and saw Ronal speaking to you with all seriousness, making him even more curious about your identity. With narrowed eyes, he followed his family into the village.
The next day, Tsireya came early to the Sully’s marui, intending to fetch the Sully children and teach them the ways of the water. Strangely enough, she was alone with no Ao’nung in sight.
“Will he not come with us? Does he dislike us?” Tuk asked aloud, making everyone flabbergasted. Neteyam quickly covered Tuk’s mouth, afraid that she’ll make it even worse with her next words.
Tsireya didn’t take it to heart as she laughed, stealing glances from Lo’ak. “It is fine. He will come, because someone will watch over to make sure he does his task.”
Neteyam’s heart skipped a beat, the scene of you with Ronal yesterday appeared his mind. “Who?”
Tsireya paused, suddenly clueless on how she will introduce you to the Sully. Ao’nung’s future mate? The next Tsahik? Her closest companion and sister at heart? Before she could speak, Lo’ak elbowed Neteyam. “We’ll know in the future. Tsireya seems a good teacher and i’m sure we’ll learn without Ao’nung.”
Neteyam ignored the loss he felt inside and followed his siblings as Tsireya led them to the shallow waters.
Mawey. Stop this. Why are you acting this way? Neteyam chastised himself inwardly, crushing the budding hope in his heart that you were somewhere in these shallow waters.

Character Design: Part 5
FEATHERS
Another detail I’d like to mention about his tattoo before moving on is that the peony tattoo was originally meant to be accompanied by leaves, but they changed this for the final design. Leaves make sense, they’re natural, but feathers?
Tumblr media
Feathers alone seem to have no relevance in Japanese culture, but there are two relevant birds that have black plumage: cormorants and crows.
Cormorants are valued birds for their fish-hunting skills and were often trained to help fishermen. Therefore, they are a symbol of devotion and unceasing commitment to their master.
Tumblr media
Crows are probably the first thing that comes to mind when we think of black feathers, and just like in other countries they can be associated with evil, but also with supernatural powers, and are considered messengers of the gods. It is commonly associated with fire and the sun, it is said that it was the only bird that can fly to the sun, and its feathers are black because they were marked by its rays.
They are often represented together with a white heron, like yin and yang, day and night, good and bad.
Within mythology we find Yatagarasu, a sacred crow that had three legs. Heaven, Earth and humanity. Yatagarasu is sent by a god (I think Amaterasu, but I’ve also read about Takami-musubi) to help humans, a symbol of guidance, of connection between the spiritual and physical world.
Tumblr media
They were once associated with rebirth and rejuvenation, as they cleansed the land after a battle. Rebirth after a tragedy. It was believed they carried the souls of the deceased, similar to butterflies, to the next plane of existence. In art they often represent death, the passing of time. Apparently they’re also sparrows’ natural enemies.
In short, each element of this poisoned tattoo only seems to be mockery after mockery on Ryuuhou’s part, a representation of what he knows will happen. The similarity of the tribal to birds, the meaning of peonies, the seed syllable inside the bird on his arm, and now the feathers as an addition to Koujaku’s virtues or as a premonition of death and tragedy. Death and destruction are carved all over his body. (He’s terrified of it, and avoids it, but Sly seeks it)
HAIR
Now let’s move on to hair. Hair is a symbol of spiritual power in many cultures around the world. As we’ve seen before in the sutra it is associated with Buddha, and by extension it is also associated with Koujaku, who’s a hairstylist and dedicates his life to cutting and controlling hair.
In ancient Japan, hair was a gift from god, it has been identified as a special focus of spiritual power and personality. The longer the better, it’s like it remembers thoughts and emotions, our identity. For this reason there are various ways in which social status is tied to hair too. It’s also used to curse people. There is a hair kami at the Arashiyama Kamigami shrine if I’m not mistaken, and you can make an offering by cutting a lock of your hair. In Sumo, when a fighter retired, they would ceremonially cut it.
Hair has been used and incorporated into Buddha embroidery as a way of forging a link between the worshipper and the Buddha depicted. Locks of hair can be seen at the doors of the Izumo shrine, which specializes in marriage. There are also stories of women who let their hair down when they go to sleep and the hair turns into snakes, poisonous desire, repressed during the day. There are other folkloric practices and beliefs about women’s hair, for example ship captains carrying part of their wives’ or daughters’ hair on board as a protective talisman.
Tumblr media
In some communities, it is believed that a shaman’s powers, which allow her to negotiate between the worlds of the living and the dead, were located in her long, loose hair, a sacred connection with the gods, the darker and the longer the better.
For Koujaku, Aoba’s hair is sacred, extremely valuable. He had wanted to cut it for years, we see how excited he is when he touches and kisses it, and when he is finally able to fulfill his dream he carefully keeps one of his locks wrapped in a piece of paper inside a paulownia wood box. For him, his hair is an amulet, it is good luck, it is extremely symbolic of who Aoba is (and who wouldn’t remember him as the dude with blue hair, one of the key features of his design, as well as the very peculiar characteristics that the developers gave it) and what he means to Koujaku.
Tumblr media
The lock of Aoba’s hair is a direct connection to him, no matter how far away he is or how long it takes them to see each other again, he will always have this amulet with him. He is a devotee of Aoba, Koujaku adores him and loves him intensely, and it is not unusual to think that this devotion takes on an even religious aspect, as if Aoba was divine, a god.
In Tibetan Buddhism they paint Buddha’s hair blue.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Koujaku's hair is tied up like a miko's, with a cylinder or strap of white paper and red knot. They also use a miko styled paper for Aoba's hairstyle in an illustration and the figure.
Paulownia wood is associated with nobility, fertility, good fortune and happiness. Paulownia is a tree that was often planted when a girl was born. Wealthy families would plant up to three trees, and when the girl grew up and was time to get married, the family would cut down the tree and make a chest and other items out of the wood to give to her on her wedding day. The kimono was meant to be stored in good quality wood to preserve it, and this wood naturally repels insects. It’s also used for instruments.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another detail about Koujaku’s hairstyle is that his hairpin looks like a shamisen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Trying to protect his mother from his father and legal wife only caused her more pain, so instead he tried to do something else. She’s so happy about the gift, and the wishes of her son to help her fill her with joy, but she knows that’s impossible. He’s only a kid, so she just smiles, without being able to reply. Honestly, given that this was a gift he made to his mother to brighten her day, I wonder if it could be related to her tastes, especially considering that the most common are simple or with floral decoration. We don’t know almost anything about her, her name, appearance, what she liked to do or to dress like, what she taught Koujaku to raise him, etc…
Tumblr media
So seeing this I wouldn’t be surprised if his mother actually played this instrument and maybe taught her son. The point is that this illustration exists.
A Tumblr user recently mentioned it on her post.
Tumblr media
GOOD LUCK
Another piece of his design are these bracelets he wears on both hands. These bracelets are prayer beads, called Nenju or Juzu. Originally used in Buddhism to help with meditation by counting prayers, 108 beads are used representing the 108 earthly desires that one seeks to overcome in order to reach enlightenment, used to purify body and mind and express devotion to Buddha. They are used as protection as well. There are versions with fewer beads, 18, 27, 36 or 54, although there’s no fixed amount as many times it depends on the length and size of the beads, sometimes they carry a magatama. Women’s version usually has smaller beads and have more decorative colors, there are versions for children too. Beni’s necklace to me is just a kids version Koujaku bought for him to be honest…
Tumblr media
Formal prayer beads also vary their appearance depending on the sect and it would be preferred that the person you marry belongs to the same sect. The tassels can also vary their shape. When these beads are damaged or can no longer serve their purpose, they are ritually burned on an altar where they are thanked for their service along with other amulets and get destroyed. Many people use them in funerals since most are held by Buddhists.
Tumblr media
The ones that Koujaku wears in the shape of a bracelet are short, with two hanging tassels, the ones he’s using are 頭付房, I’m not sure how this translates but seems something like tassel with head/head tassel. Made to be more comfortable to carry anywhere, taking up less space or in a casual fashion. I like thinking he has formal Buddhist prayer beads kept somewhere for when he wants to pray for the people he knows.
The knot on his neck and the one in the decoration of his hair is a kiku knot, chrysanthemum knot, with two tassels hanging too. It’s also the type Shiroba/Sly uses in the bad ending. We’ve already seen what the chrysanthemum means. This knot is theorized to be a variation of a Buddhist knot, the endless knot, as a representation of Buddha’s infinite wisdom. In Tibetan Buddhism it symbolises Samsara, a never ending cycle. There are a few other interpretations.
Tumblr media
Knots with tassels like this (総角房) would also be used in samurai helmets as a good luck charm, and it’s the type he has on his sword, not the chrysanthemum one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We don’t really see or hear about Koujaku performing any religious practices during the story, except attending the festivals that everyone else goes to out of custom rather than a religious devotion. But I wouldn’t find it strange if he did it in the privacy of his home to try to attract luck in his life and try to separate himself from the beast, to be a good person and pray for his mother. After all, cultural and religious references are everywhere, and he himself wonders about the existence of souls, implying a much more spiritual understanding of life on his part.
Red is the first thing that catches your eye when you look at his design, and it’s a very important color in shintoism and is used in shrines everywhere, in clothes, buildings, torii gates, amulets, etc. It’s a color related to luck, the sacred, that coexists in balance with white. It’s love and passion, and it’s evil and blood. These dualities are present everywhere, both in his design and in his story.

(๑>ᴗ<๑)THE HIEROPHANT
The Hierophant is the one most likely to symbolize marriage and engagements.
This card is very closely associated with traditional customs and the celebrations which come with marriage.
Symbol of traditional values
The Hierophant is also an indicator that you and your lover are culturally or religiously are invested in the sanctity of marriage
It can also represent guidance from a mentor or spiritual leader in matters of the heart(seeking advice or counsel from a trusted elder or wise friend can help bring clarity to your relationship and guide you towards a successful and fulfilling future together)
Positive sign when it comes to matters of love and relationships
If you are looking for a long-term, committed relationship, The Hierophant is a positive omen that marriage could be on the horizon for you and your partner
(๑>ᴗ<๑)THE WORLD
If you have always aspired to be a wife/husband than The World means that married life is on the cards
Positive indicator for marriage because it often represents a major ambition being accomplished
Once you have fulfilled the ‘goal’ of getting married you can move onto something else
It predicts the end of one cycle, and the start of another
If you have marriage on your mind and The World appears in your reading, take it as a positive sign that marriage is in your future.
Whether it be with the person you are currently involved with or someone new, The World signifies the fulfillment of a major goal and the start of a new chapter in your life
Trust in the universe that everything will work out for the best in the end. Trust in the process, trust in the journey, and trust in yourself
Marriage may be just around the corner for you
(๑>ᴗ<๑)THREE OF CUPS
The Three of Cups is not a ‘marriage’ Tarot card, but it does predict weddings, engagements, births, baptisms and other celebrations
If your relationship is already well-established, then the Three of Cups can predict marriage and children
If your relationship is not well-established, the Three of Cups is a good card to indicate that your relationship is heading in a more serious direction, especially if the two of you have not yet mingled with each other’s friends and relatives
The Three of Cups means that you and your lover will be attending weddings together (but not necessarily your own!)
(๑>ᴗ<๑)JUSTICE
Justice is up there on my list of cards most likely to represent marriage
If you receive these two cards together(Justice and Hierophant), you’re very lucky in the sense that they are both fabulous indicators of traditional marriage which is bound by law
Justice represents fairness, balance, and karma
The decisions you make now will have consequences, and it urges you to consider the repercussions of your actions
If you have been wronged, Justice assures you that the truth will be revealed and that you will receive the justice you deserve.
On a more personal level, Justice reminds you to be honest and fair in your dealings with others(take responsibility for your actions and to strive for balance in your relationships)
It also suggests that you may need to make a difficult decision based on what is right and just, even if it is not the easiest or most popular choice.
Justice is a powerful card that reminds us of the importance of fairness, accountability, and integrity in our lives

pick a pile: "Next 3 months: General Guidance"
take a breath and choose the photo or number that calls you the most to find out about your next 3 months and what they may bring you. I'll try to focus on career, spirituality/healing and relationships the most.
don’t take the reading too seriously. only take what resonates with you and leave the rest. if you're not called by any pile, let this reading slid as it may not hold messages for you. if you're called by more than one pile, there may be messages in each of those piles. remember that is a general reading and some things may not resonate with you. energies can change and readings are based on present ones (as you read); you're always in charge of your life.

pile 1
Your next 3 months may be focused on taking some type of action. Maybe you'll "throw your heart over an obstacle". For some of you, it may be about taking action in making yourself feel safer and more grounded/in control of your own emotions, which at times may take over you. For a few, it can be about frustration and aggression/anger issues you may be dealing with: you will try to find the root cause for them and heal/work throught them to make yourself feel less triggered and in danger (at times it's only a reaction that our mind creates for self-defense, there's not a real objective "danger"). You'll try to get more infos about your fears and insecurities, grow more confident and strong in your abilities and try to focus over what is real, in opposition to the "lies" that occasionally your mind (and maybe someone else too) may want you to see and consider or react to. I see a lot of courage in you and it will serve you big time to get over this issue that is blocking you from manifesting what you really deserve and wish for. Congrats pile 1, I'm so proud of you!
You'll develop your talents, work on your body too (a good different outlet for your excess of energy can be through working out -the Red color reading may bring further messages to you). You'll be successful in this journey, you'll bring the change you need in your life and it will slowly help you make things better for you in all fields. You may also try to follow your passions more energetically and also, some of you may get passionate with someone else or starting to get closer to them (if you're in a relationship already, things may move to the next level: making things official, marriage, moving in together, having a child/pet...). You'll leave a more "darker" energy in order to shine, to be more out and about, to be more you, and won't fear too much how others may see you or think of you. You'll finally be seen. Acknowledge all your work and give yourself accolades!

pile 2
You'll probably learn to take your time in your life. Comfort is your word. You will try to focus on grounding, calming down, coming back to yourself again. "Stop the stress". I feel a lot of cozy energy, you may want to be more with yourself, spend time also doing things you enjoy and ease your mind. You'll start to trust where you are even if it's not where you'd like to be and trust also divine timing and Universe more. You'll let go a bit more, I hear. You'll work towards your goal but without stress or trying to fret things, you'll let them unfold and develop as they are supposed to. You'll be bolder in this sense. You'll walk and work in a slower way. You'll focus on one tast at time, you won't feel the rush in answering or doing things asap. You'll be more pondering, thoughtful. You'll put work into simplifying your life too, especially on a mental level.
For some of you, you may learn something new or deepen your knowledge about a specific subject. You may even start a new course or just follow someone knowledgeable online on a spcific matter of your interest, or even buy a book about something. You may even start to heal yourself on a deeper level (some also through therapy or reading books/watching videos about psychology or such), try to work on your darkest parts slowly, and take good care of yourself in the meantime. It looks like you're preparing for something, so take this "winter-ish" time of your life as nature would: comfort, heal and get ready to spring/blossom.
Some of you may be bringing closure to something in your life (maybe also a relationship of any type or a situation/emotion): please do take your time as that's not something easy to do. Go slow and do not keep pushing away your emotions even if they hurt. Take your time to understand them and welcome them to nurture them and heal/hug them as if they were a scared child (it may be your inner child/younger self needing your help). Your feelings are valid, no matter what you're grieving about and/or how much time has passed. And ask for support to someone else if you need, talk about your feelings and/or journal about them. Processing such events is tough, but you can make it. Give yourself time and space, also to unwind from this heavy energy.

pile 3
Something is changing big time for you, huge transformation in your life. It could relate with your inner self, for example an old (negative/hindering) mental pattern that you are leaving behind; or it could be a physical change, either/both in yourself (will take more care of your body) or/and you will literally change job or even location. Whatever it is about, you seem to be starting a totally new cycle of your life and experience new positive things. I feel hyped for you, or maybe some of you are already looking forward to something that is coming up (either consciously or unconsciously). Some of you may be working with more determination towards a goal they have, and especially on love and self love. For some, you may meet someone as well, be them a new love interest and/or a friend or (just for a little bunch of you) a group of people too. Your heart is slowly healing and getting ready to let more people in, anyway. You seem more trusting, confident and stable.
The working/school field do stand out more for you btw, I see you talking and sharing, and standing out. You may get a promotion too if you're not changing career, or you may get to talk about any of your studies and get a very good degree or anything like that. I see you confident and bold, very good at communicating your mind and ideas too (which may also be your field of work, on different levels). Lot of strenght, lot of will to work on something and closing with the past. Lot of oppportunities to make it as well. Be sure to grab them, do not let your insecurities block you. Trust your intuition as it may be guiding you more than before (especially if you are feeling grounded and in touch with yourself as it seems).

Magic Trick, The Prayer Card, Mikey's message
This is from a reblog on @brokenwinebox post and it was quite genius to say Carmy is holding all the cards.
The show has given us a card trick since 3x01.
This is the beginning of the trick. Chekov's gun. Telling viewers to remember your card.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then here's the legerdemain: this same prayer card appears in Carmy's Jacket pocket when it should have been Marcus's mom's prayer card.
Tumblr media
Carmy looks surprised at the card, flips it, and takes it in for this long moment.
The sleight of hand is that the different prayer cards appear in his jacket pocket—Mikey's card is the one that he needs the most for reflection and guidance.
This could be the card performing a magic trick of its own. Or Mikey. When this card appears, is it Mikey's spirit? Maybe Carmy did not process his grief, and it represents that. It could also represent finding purpose for those who lost their way.
Maybe a serendipitous moment and a magic trick(universe—god—Mikey) caused that Card to land in his pocket. I told someone before on here that this show has spiritual themes.
Tumblr media
A prayer card also appears on Richie's mirror, showing that he has yet to process grief about Miky's death and has lost along the way. But later in the episode, he finds his purpose.
Tumblr media
The other time the prayer card appears- 2x01, and it appears with the Let It RIp note- with lyrics saying candles at the altar penny in your shoe- that means prosperity in marriage.
Credit to @yannaryartside for noting this, the let it Rip note has become a string to connect Sydney to Mikey, and it started with Carmy texting Sydney before reading the note and asking her if it's okay to have it at the expo station.
Tumblr media
Mikey is telling him good luck- go live your life! And Carmy was feeling lucky that day in 2x01. He made a business deal with Jimmy. They can continue building the bear; he wants to ask Sydney out the next moment. Something Mikey would want him to do, but Carmy, being Carmy, is pulling fake lint off his jacket, waiting for the chance. (he often plays it cool with Sydney- you should come moment he acts distracted looking at something while he asks- keep it casual, Carmy)
Sidebar: It's definitely Mikey sending a message to Carmy because in the next episode, Carmy remembers Mikey and says the taste of Chicago was really fun, and Sydney's head pops into the room at the perfect moment.
I think if Mikey is an angel, he's pointing at Sydney, and Carmy hasn't opened his eyes to see she's the one- she's the person Mikey sent. (Open up your eyes! like the song Murder for One says in 3x09 as Carmy reads the prayer card)
When Carmy takes time to read the prayer card, he puts it down. He has lost his way, and the card appears when he needs it most. As he is lost on whether he should say sorry to Claire- he's lost on how he can make it up to Sydney and tell her how he feels. He needs help with Sydney being his muse. As with @vacationship post- Are we surprised one of Sydney's hair scrunchie magically appears in his apartment when he makes a sauce based on another one of Sydney's hair accessories earlier in the episode?
Tumblr media
Note the lyrics to the song as Carmy reads the prayer card and walks away.
There's a bird that nests inside you. Sleeping underneath your skin. When you open up your wings to speak. I wish you'd let me in. All your life is such a shame, shame, shame. All your love is just a dream, dream, dream
This is Mikey talking to Carmy in those lyrics. He's telling him to let him in- to guide him. Don't waste your life because right now it's such a shame how you're wasting it. Don't let love be a dream. Love. Don't waste the moment.
This could be the answer and guidance Carmy is searching for but has yet to see. Mikey pointed him in that direction when he inspired him enough to make his original blood orange Hamachi dish. He followed his instinct, and that led him to Sydney. If the card is about finding one's way and the card is next to Sydney's hair scrunchie, it's Mikey giving him the answer—the magic trick. It's Mikey showing Carmy his purpose.

Here are some Christ-centered ways a husband can create a joyful, loving marriage by serving, honoring, and leading his wife:
1. Pray with Her and for Her
• Pray together daily and seek God’s guidance for both your lives. Pray individually for her needs, spiritual growth, and protection.
2. Show Selfless Love and Compassion
• Embrace Christ’s sacrificial love by putting her needs above your own. Show compassion through kind words and actions, always seeking her good.
3. Be a Spiritual Leader
• Lead by example in faith and integrity, prioritizing God’s Word in daily life. Encourage her spiritual growth by reading the Bible together, praying, and fostering a faith-filled home.
4. Encourage and Affirm Her Daily
• Encourage her strengths, dreams, and growth. Affirm her beauty, intelligence, and kindness to make her feel valued and appreciated.
5. Serve Her in Practical Ways
• Help with chores or errands, or surprise her with small acts like preparing breakfast or helping with her daily tasks. These gestures show you’re mindful of her comfort and happiness.
6. Listen to Her with Patience and Empathy
• Give her your full attention and listen without judgment, whether she’s sharing concerns, dreams, or everyday stories. Listening with empathy builds intimacy and trust.
7. Show Physical Affection and Care
• Make her feel cherished with physical affection: holding her hand, hugging, and gentle touches. Physical closeness helps deepen emotional bonds.
8. Take Initiative in Planning Date Nights
• Make time for romance by planning thoughtful dates, even if they’re simple, like a movie night or a walk. This strengthens your connection and keeps the romance alive.
9. Be Quick to Forgive and Slow to Anger

Introduction to Yasodhara, Wife of the Buddha.
Tumblr media
Yasodhara was the wife of Siddhartha Gautama (The Buddha). She became a Buddhist nun and was considered as an arhat (Buddhist saint)
The meaning of her name is "Bearer of glory". She was also popularly known as Bhaddakaccana, Rahulamata, etc…
Yasodhara has lived with the Buddha in his past lives, being his wife in all of them. In their past lives, she helps the Buddha and always stays devoted to him. In many of her lives, she rarely did bad acts/bad karma, making her one of the most holiest women in Buddhism.
She is an arhat associated with beauty, insight, womanhood, glory & devotion. Called "foremost in great insight"
She, in some unknown stories, was associated with Magic
Her (slightly summarized) life story 👇
Tumblr media
Yasodhara was the daughter of King Suppabuddh & Queen Amita, She was born on the same day as prince Siddhartha. She was said to be a very beautiful Princess who was devoted, pleasant & sympathetic.
When Siddhartha was 16, his father wanted him to marry a benevolent & unjealous girl. Later, at a marriage event, Yasodhara was seen as the right person of that, After a series of events, Siddhartha & Yashodhara got married.
Yasodhara gave birth to a son named Rahula when she was 26. 7 days after, Siddhartha left the palace to seek answers, leaving Yasodhara devastated. When he was away, She imitated her husband's lifestyle by wearing simpler clothes, eating only 1 meal a day, & refusing offers of marriage proposals.
After a few years, Buddha later went back to his wife, where she rushed to him and clung to his feet. Eyes full of tears, missing his presence, now Fulfilled to see him again.
Yasodara recited the 'Naraseeha Gatha' to her son Rahula before sending him to join the Buddha. Rahula was joyful in his father’s presence & went with him to the temple. Rahula later became a monk & attained Arhantship. Yasodara's life is marked by sorrow & tears, but she has never shown anger.
Yasodhara joined the order of Monks, became an arhat, & established the first nun Order with 500 women. She dedicated her life to spreading Buddha's teachings & focusing on good karma.
Other stories of Yasodhara:
1. Yasodhara & the shakyan nuns.
Tumblr media
When Rahula became a monk, Yasodara asked for permission from King Suddhodana to become ordained. The king advised her to wait for the right time. After his passing, Mother Gotami obtained the higher ordination & started the ‘order of nuns’ in the Buddha’s dispensation. Yasodara eventually renounced her possessions and became a nun, along with a thousand Shākyan ladies, despite the extreme protests from her people.
She, & other Shakyan princesses who became nuns, received immense offerings and attention from devotees. Many royal figures and noble women became nuns under Yasodhara’s guidance.
2. Yasodhara’s Glory.
Tumblr media
(this could possibly be a folk-story)
In order to prove her powers, Yasodara, in her spiritual form, performed numerous miracles, In the miracles, she’s said to have a voice that could be heard by the gods & brahmas who were dwelling in tens of thousands of universes. She transformed into different types of forms, into different elements, the sun, moon, mount Meru, & the god Indra.
She created a gigantic elephant and then plucked a divine tree from the realm Svarga (heaven), offering it to the Buddha like an umbrella.
She then attained nirvana, & was praised for her unwavering devotion and merits accumulated over countless lifetimes, a stupa was built to honor her legacy.
3. The princess’s love magic.
Tumblr media
In one unknown story, when the buddha came back, Yasodhara tries to win back the Buddha by offering him a cake with medicinal herbs to change his feelings, she preformed love magic on the food and had her son offer it to the Buddha. However, the Buddha remain unaffected and tells a story from a past life where Yasodhara, as a seductive courtesan, had led him astray with a similar cake.
4. Yasodhara’s innocence.
Tumblr media
In the Tsa pao tsang king, it states that As a result of Yasodhara’s prolonged pregnancy, she was suspected of adultery by her father-in-law and the Sakyas. They dug a ditch filled with flaming wood and threw Yasodhara into it. She called upon the Buddha, the flaming ditch was instantaneously transformed into a pool of pure water, in the middle of which Yasodhara with Rahula in her arms was sitting on a lotus flower.
The Sakyas were convinced of her innocence and Rahula became the favorite of his grandfather.
5. Kama
Tumblr media
Prince Siddhartha would have practiced his cult of sexual magic (possibly tantric sex?) with Yasodhara. Both of them would often engage in sexual activities before they were ready to bring a baby.
There is also one story of them having intercourse on a palace roof. They were so into the act that they actually fell off the roof & didn't notice. They somehow managed to fall into a bed of lotus flowers which saved them from any injuries as a result of the fall.
Tumblr media
"Sri Yasodara Maha Seya" is a peaceful temple/stupa in Sri Lanka that honors her. Devotees seek the protection & blessings of her which help them overcome obstacles in life.
Nuns are mostly the ones who take refuge in her, meditating in front of her stupa or making offerings. There are also energetic festivals in honor of her, with dancing, music & chanting. Poojas are also in honor of her.

Note
so from what i understand the catholic church doesn't have divorce. but are catholics like allowed to divorce in a secular way and then live apart and just not get married to other people because they're still seen as married in the eyes of the church
There is not divorce in the Catholic Church, that is correct. If someone gets a civil divorce, they are still seen as being married by the Church, and so would not be free to either get married to someone else or join a religious order. However, where things cannot be reconciled, whether that be abuse of the spouse, abuse of drugs or alcohol, or some such other grave reason, the Church does allow and encourage separation, and in some instances (especially in cases of abuse) civil separation in the form of divorce. Ideally both parties will want to become better in order to make it work, ie going o marriage and personal counseling, going to rehab where appropriate, etc. But, if the abuser is unwilling, it is lawful in the eyes of the Church to separate legally from them. Spiritually you are still married to that person, but if they are not upholding their vows of loving you by abusing you, you have the right to separate yourself from that.
This is lawful only for a few things, and more dubious reasons would be: infidelity (non-chronic, ie if it were only once), financial infidelity, things along those lines, where societal its seen as normal and good to divorce someone, but the Church says it should be taken very carefully, and only if these issues are chronic problems should separation be entertained, and only with spiritual and counselor supervision.
Reasons one cannot get separated: "we just don't like each other any more", marital problems that arise because of infertility, those sorts of things. Fundamentally these reasons are selfish for wanting to get a divorce, unlike the above reasons because it puts your wants and desires above your spouse's. In the cases of abuse, chronic infidelity, and the like, it is their unloving actions towards you that is causing the separation, as well as to protect yourself bodily (in cases of physical abuse).
These should also always be done under spiritual guidance (ie with a priest) as well as with a therapist, because they can help make things more clear from an outside perspective, and because a priest will know of parish/community social programs that can help people get out dangerous situations.
