The night Sakura and Sasuke get married, Ino kisses her out the back of her own wedding reception. She can hear the noise of the party she and Hinata planned down to the last detail, her new husband inside waiting for her to return, and she's in a dirty alley with her ex best friend turned rival turned friend again, and she has her tongue in her mouth.
Ino kisses better than sasuke does. Soft, sweet lips, tongue sure and demanding, just a hint of teeth.
Sakura is gasping into her mouth in seconds, returning the kiss with a passion she didn't know existed inside of her. Her hands are all over Ino, in her hair, on her shoulders, grasping at her waist. She's so soft, the curves of her hips and stomach, her bare skin.
Sakura isn't ready for Ino to pull back, her eyes heavy lidded. She steps out of Sakura's grasp and leaves her panting up against the wall, her hair a mess.
"You know where to find me if you get bored of him." she says, and with a flick of her hair, she's gone.
The night Sasuke and Sakura get married, Sakura sneaks out of their marriage bed and makes her way to Ino's house.

I have never really liked sasusaku, but arranged marriage sasusaku au. Writing as the thought comes to mind so they may not be endgame.
So sakura comes from The merchant clan. The harunos are super important to the village and its really important not to piss them off. At 6 years old sakura starts insisting she wants to be a ninja and her grandmother, the clan matriarch, agrees that she can join the academy and become a ninja if she does well.
The uchiha meanwhile, are approaching the point of no return with their political instability. And then they hear that the granddaughter of the Haruno head is now training as a ninja and they see the perfect way to reestablish a foothold in the villages power structure and a buffer between them and danzo.
So 6 year old sakura ends up at dinner at the uchihas to meet sasuke. She hates him. He's a spoinled brat who keeps hiding behind his mom and loudly whining about anything and everything, and little sakura was very mature for her age. She has a few nice moments pf interacting with itachi about the academy before sasuke realizes his brother's attention isnt on him and gets between them, but all the other adults dismiss her completely and dont even properly speak to her.
Sakura decides she hates all of them.
The arrangement goes through.
(Mikoto is not happy about it, her baby is only 6. But she figures that it's not set in stone since a proper engagement cant happen until theyre 16 and a traditional marriage has to wait until 19. The haruno also dont fully expect it to go that far and are fully aware that the uchiha are trying to gain advantage in the village, but theyre ready to milk this for all its worth. Itachi thinks it's adorable. The uchiha elders dont care how it ends up as long as they get what they want. Danzo is furious and the third is staying out of it (because he sucks) while the other clans are biding their time until they see how this is going to go.)
Sakura being engaged(to be engaged) to sasuke does change her dynamic at the academy a bit. She does have other kids who mess with her at first, but its shut down by sasuke and some other aolder uchiha. This pisses sakura off because while it wasnt a battle she wanted to fight, that didnt mean he coild fight it for her. She befriends ino on accident and encourages her friends crush on sasuke because she does Not want him. His fiance hating him kind of puts a damper on ino's crush though.
The engagement is enough to keep the massacre from happening.
Sasuke doesnt like sakura in the way that he doesnt realize he kind of likes her. At some point her getting mad at him makes his heart flutter. Also, uchiha are possessive by nature and he sees her as his (the reason why he stepped in when other kids were making fun of her).
The other uchiha at the academy think its the funniest shit in the world even though they would never let that kind of slight towards the main family slip in any way. If you find sakura having one of her onesided arguments with sasuke because he was following her or something you can also find several older uchiha kids making aggressive eye contact with eachother, mentally daring eachother to slip up so they can laugh without worrying about someone snitching. (There is a rare occasion where shisui, who often volunteers as the uchiha-haruno liason, is found actually laughing his ass off at their antics. The other uchiha still dont laugh though, because being blackmailed by shisui is way worse than getting chewed out by an elder.)
Their engagement is known among the clans and the civilian politicians, but its not exactly common knowledge. Not everyone knows. Naruto doesnt know, and he still jas a massive crush on sakura.
So team 7's genin dynamic now becomes sakura hates sasuke who likes sakura but more than that just knows theyre going to be together forever because that's how its always been, sasuke hates naruto because hes an idiot who has a massive crush on sakura, who also hates him because he's an idiot who has a massive crush on her. And naruto sees sasuke as his ultimate rival (just in ninja, he straight up does not realize that sasuke likes sakura. He thinks theyre just wierd friends the way her and ino are kind of wierd.).
Sakura and sasuke are able to quietly sit next to eachother without issue by the time theyre graduating, theyre frequently together whenever sakura isnt with ino. Thr sevond naruto shows up an argument immidiently starts though.
In kakashi's romance novel language, its a classic enemies to lovers love corner set up. And kakashi is Invested. He thinks this is the funniest shit ever.
Now onto graduation. Im dropping the wierd kidnapping expired milk plot. The narusasu kiss still happens though. Naruto pranks kakashi, kakashi says he hates them and gets himself added to sakura's List.
Sakura likes hanging out with ino and learning chakra theory and does not answer her dislikes or goals for the future (which are, respectivly, marrying sasuke and not marrying sasuke). Sasuke likes his brother and tomatoes, dislikes naruto and people trying to take what's his, and wants to takeover the police force. Naruto likes ramen and sakura, dislikes the three minutes ot takes for ramen to cook and sasuke, and is going to become hokage.
The bell test goes pretty much the same as canon in that they fail the first part, except this time sakura and sasuke have a onesided argument early on, sakura's genjutsu is some flavor of her actually being married to sasuke and she starts gagging when she breaks it (and she does break it, she's been put under genjutsu by other uchiha before), and sasuke tries to start a brawl with naruto when he claims he's gonna get the second bell for sakura. Naruto is tied to a pole, sakura and sasuke feed him, they pass the test.
Kakashi is promptly accosted by first his cute kohai itachi (who wants him to take training his brother seriously) and then a haruno contingent (who want him to take training sakura seriously). He then meets the other new instructers to bemoan his cute students and their families only to be told he needs to take training them seriously. No one understands him.
(He goes to bed with the image in his mind of kushina and minato yanking him aside in the market to make fun of him and then tell him to take training naruto seriously. Not even his own brain understands him.)
Im trying to think ahead and decide where the funniest moment for naruto to find out that sakura and sasuke are engaged. And what ideas would be good for the time skip because i dont like the timeskip and sasuke's not defecting anyway.
Ive decided earlier is better.
The first month of training is always d ranks. So there's some training but mostly kakshi kicks back to make fun of them as the pull weeds and chase cats. On one such mission kakashi is laser focused in on them as the secret comes out. He wishes he had popcorn.
So naruto is bumbling around and knocks into sakura, who is caught by sasuke. Naruto turns to start apologizing while sakura revs up to start yelling at him when the old lady theyre working for calls them "such a cute pair." Naruto starts yelling because theyd be a cuter pair, sakura starts yelling because Gross, and then sasuke is like, "well she's my fiance."
Naruto sputters and sakura groans. She tells the old lady that theyre not technically engaged yet, but is mostly drowned out by naruto and sasuke's ensuing brawl.
Kakashi watches for as long as he could before the damage they were causing became too much and he was forced to step in. Sakura just wants to dissapear.
Now naruto's sitting there with some comedically sized bruises, crying and asking if its true. Sakura sighs and says yes and he colapses to the ground.
Its all very dramatic.
Cue uchiha family+team dinner, which sasuke finally agreed to because he wants to be like, look at my family with My Fiance. The only time Kakashi has ever been on time to anything because he doesnt want to miss a second.
Sakura is already there talking pleasantly to itachi about chakra pathways (itachi has been getting her books since she was little, i dont think i ever mentioned that. Itachi still thinks they are adorable and is fine with bribing her to come over with increasingly rare books). Sasuke eventually stopped trying to force them not to interact after the first few years and is fine with it as long as he is also sitting directly next to them.
Kakashi is giggling to himself as naruto is ushered in by mikoto still looking shell shocked. His entire world has been turned on its head.
Dinner starts formally and then drifts into casual conversation. Sasuke makes eyecontact with naruto and scoots closer to sakura, who just gives him a wierd look before ignoring him. Naruto makes a noise like a dying cat.
Mikoto pulls him into conversation, smiling serenly (he's so much like kushina). He says some things that are red flags. Eventually after he mentions that he has a hard time buying groceries sakura offers to go with him in the name of team solidarity. Sasuke promptly offers to also go, "you hate shopping," "if its bc we're a team then the whole team should go."
So they go shopping. And the entire time sasuke is trying to mess with naruto subtly while sakura glares at him because he's being clingy like he is to itachi. Sakura is explaining how to choose produce and calories and nutrients and raising a disparaging eyebrow anytime a vender tries to say something about naruto being there. (The harunos are not ninja, they can say what they want.) Naruto is torn between giving her his full attention and bristling at sasuke's behaviour. Overall it's a very fun trip.
This brings us to the wave arc. Same as originally, naruto demands a cool mission and the hokage agrees (once again, theres some extra political moves going on. The og version of the team doesnt have strong political power). In comes tazuna.
Their sendoff has a bit more fanfare this time, with itachi and mikoto saying goodbye to sasuke and itachi giving sakura a new book and some snacks for the team.
When sakura first see the puddles she looks at kakashi but he shushes her. Literally. She is offended.
The two ninja pop out and "kill" kakashi. Sakura falls back into protective position and casts her own genjutsu. Naruto freezes and sasuke takes out one ninja and kakshi pops back up to take care of the other.
It continues like canon. Zabuza shows up, sakura's once again on defence, kakshi is caught and then the boys free him, haku spirits away an unconcious zabuza. They get to tazuna's with sakura taking lead and the boys carying kakashi because she's the only one who knows medical information. (A note: with the uchiha clan alive sakura and sasuke are already aware of kakashi's eye, and sakura has been briefed on what to do with chakra exhaustian.)
Sasuke takes this moment to continue taunting naruto with the fact he's engaged to sakura. Sakura does not appreciate sasuke's praise as a tool to mess with naruto. Tazuna is very confused.
I think kakashi continuing with the mission at this point is out of spite towards everyone who assumed hed be a bad teacher, might as well prove them right.
Kakashi goes to teach them tree walking but sakura and sasuke already know. He moves them to waterwalking, which sakura gets very quickly and is then sent on guard duty. Its at this point that the feelings of isolation naruto has really hits home. Not only are they engaged theyve had years more training than him.
Sakura talks trade routes and infrastructure with tazuna. She also helps carry heavy things with chakra enhanced arms. (I dont remember what fic i originally saw this in, but i love the image of sakura casually picking a steel beam that it usually takes 4 to 6 men to carry as they watch in awed confusion. Im definitly going to give her an oversized weapon later.)
The big moment of divergence here is that i want haku to live, so so does zabuza. So sakura, with her merchant family's knowledge that a jounin might know but a genin never would, speaks up naruto style, "instead of dealing with thugs like gato who are inevitably going to double cross you, wouldnt you want the strength of a village again?" zabuza gets pissed before sakura reveals that theres anlther coup forming with strong backers.
Ive lost steam at this point, rapid fire.
The invasion still happens during the chunin exams because i want the 3rd to die. The uchiha are able to cement their new goodwill status in the village and sakura naruto and sasuke are on civilian duty during the battle.
I think itd be funny to still break up the team. So sakura gets promoted. Theres some political stuff that goes into it (a wedge between her and sasuke is a bonus to those who are still against the uchiha clan) but also she did well and tsunade has a minimum she needs to fill.
Tsunade mercs danzo prerty early on too.
Post chunin itachi takes naruto shopping while sakura is busy, sasukes is pissed. Cue brotherly bonding.
At the end of wave the whole team started getting touchier with eachother (started by sasuke clinging to sakura to prove he could and progessing to reassure naruto that he was a teammate they care about.
At some point after they all start displaying casual affection between eachother shisui starts a rumor that all 3 are dating.
With sakura busy with chunin training sai is put onto their team. It takes awhile for them to get used to it.
Naruto and sai become roommates.
They have study sessions at naruto's place because he'll need better knowledge of politics if he's going to become hokage.
Sasusaku is endgame.
Im dome for now.

BACKS TURNED, FACES FORWARD
Tumblr media
haruno sakura is tired of always being left in the dust. (or: sakura throughout the years, chasing after people who might be too far gone.)
pairing: haruno sakura/uchiha sasuke (slight) content: character study-ish, slight romance words: 3.5k notes: my attempt at a character study (not really). its just that 685 forever has a chokehold on me & i love sasusaku & kishimoto rlly did his main heroine dirty. originally i wanted it to be more of a piece about team 7 collectively, but winded up being a little more sasusaku centric xdd
Tumblr media
HARUNO Sakura has spent her entire life gazing upon two backs. And she’s tired of it, of course she is. Sasuke was never once in reach, but after he set out on his quest for power and vengeance, even the slightest trace of him was hard to come by. That teenage back and the red and white fan that sits proudly upon it—Sakura wishes she had some way she could reach him from across the continent and alleviate the weights which burden him so. But she could not stop him. Not with her words or actions, and not with her love.
And what use was love if it couldn’t save anyone, especially the very person who brings it to life within you?
She wanted to curse her weakness, and to curse Sasuke most of all for all the tears she shed and the nights she lay awake. Yet still she cannot. Love would not let her, and that was the cruelest thing of all. She would love him to her grave, and whether that is testament that her love is true or that she is just plain old stubborn, she’s not sure. What she’s sure of is that she’s tired of watching Naruto run off ahead of her in Sasuke’s pursuit.
Sakura has been watching this whole time. She watched the curse mark embed itself into Sasuke’s flesh, take root like an invasive plant. Orochimaru sank his fangs into him, and though she’s sure Sasuke’s not foolish enough to hand over his body so willingly, even she could tell that the venom was corroding him from the inside out. His bloodline—Sakura does not pretend to know its blood-steeped history, and she’s long since stopped pretending to understand the pain and hatred that comes with it. But she does know the pain that it has brought her, and the pain it has brought Naruto.
She can see the way Naruto’s eyebrows furrow the tiniest bit at Sasuke’s mention, the way his gaze softens at the murmur of his name to the way it hardens when people speak ill of him. She notices the skyward glances, the clenching fists. His steadfast promise, his unwavering shinobi way, she can see its resolve strengthen for the sake of Sasuke. Like her, Naruto loves Sasuke, and Sakura can see this too. It is ironic, then, that it is Sasuke who possesses superior sight in the Sharingan who cannot see the same.
Nonetheless, Naruto has been chasing Sasuke all this time. And what has Sakura been doing? Weeping like a damned, helpless damsel, waiting for someone else to do all the work to bring back her Prince Charming? She has watched the Uchiha crest grow smaller and smaller upon the horizon of her heart, so faint and out of reach that despite thinking of him every day, she feels he is going to dissipate. Naruto, too—his back has grown broader in the years he has been away from the village, but smaller as well the further she lags behind.
The same scrawny brat has grown into someone reliable, and Sasuke surely has advanced as well. Sakura cannot sit idly by any longer. Not that she has, by any means—under the tutelage of Lady Tsunade she has grown into a medical ninja of unmatched potential and honed her physical prowess to the highest degree she can. But it is still not enough. So long as she cannot reach Sasuke’s heart, she is afraid it will never be enough.
“Sakura.”
Naruto’s voice shakes her out of a trance. They are sitting side by side on the bench by the village gate, the same scene that marks the biggest failure of Sakura’s life. The sakura trees are blooming, but Sakura cannot say the same for herself. Each passing day she is continuously wilting. There is no cycle for her, only an everlasting process of fading until one day she will have fallen completely from the branch.
“Sorry,” she says. “I was lost in thought.”
“About Sasuke,” he asks, though he says it like he already knows.
Sakura nods, twiddling her thumbs. “I wonder what he’s up to.”
Naruto typically takes it upon himself to brighten a dismal atmosphere, but today Sakura is sullen enough that she does not want to be cheered up. No, she wants to linger in this sadness a little longer, let the melancholy soak the way one does in a freshly drawn bath. It is better to face the pain than to continue shutting it down. To bleed is to be alive, so to hurt is to love.
“You know him,” Naruto says, sinking against the backing of the bench. “Probably moping about revenge and all that. He won’t come to his senses unless we sock it to him, Sakura.”
“I know that, idiot.”
Naruto gives her a sideways glance and smiles. Pats her on the back a couple times, then stands in preparation to leave. Naruto is more sensitive than most, in that regard.
“I miss him,” Sakura says, before Naruto has a chance to turn his back to her again. “I wish he would come back. If we could just talk to him”
“Guys like him,” Naruto says, “only talk through their fists.”
“I can’t beat him,” Sakura admits sorrowfully. She buries her face in her hands. “I’m not strong enough to get through to him.”
“Right now, neither am I.”
Naruto’s confession brings Sakura’s face out of her hands. She turns to Naruto, who is smiling against the blue sky and blossoming petals.
“I lost to him at the Final Valley,” he continues. “I’m sure Sasuke’s gotten super strong since then, too. So I’d probably lose to him now anyway.”
“Then—”
“That’s why we both gotta get stronger.” Naruto turns, looking over his shoulder. “That way, no matter how strong Sasuke is when we see him again, it won’t matter. Because it’ll be two against one!”
Yes, Sakura thinks, her eyes closing as her lips pull upward into a smile. Tears are pooling in her waterline. They will get Sasuke back. And when they do, they’ll be three again. Naruto’s back is growing ever smaller as he walks toward the village center, but for once, she doesn’t mind it.
AMONGST the broken rubble of Orochimaru’s hideout, Sakura is perusing the halls like a child lost in a maze. She’s not looking for anything in particular. No, that’s not true. She’s looking for a reason. Something, anything that might explain how Sasuke had become the stranger that stood before Naruto and Sakura, how the clan crest etched on his back had fanned the flames from a kindling warmth to raging wildfire. There must be something.
Naruto is outside, still standing in the crater left behind by Sasuke. Locked in place, his head is tilted upward, and the sky is clear despite the way their hearts are overcast. Yamato and Sai are by him, having left Sakura to wander on her own, but she can sense the little inkborn mouse that Sai sends to tail her, to make sure she doesn’t go off too far or get herself into danger. Sakura has always been the most observant of the three—so it’s an easy task to hear the tiny footsteps that tap against the stone floors a few paces behind.
Sakura pushes it out of her mind. Let them follow her all they like, it doesn’t matter. What matters right now is finding something that will help. She checks every path and every turn until she turns the last one and finds a dead end. She places a hesitant hand against the stone bricks. She’s ready to accept defeat and reconvene with the makeshift Team Seven. She’s ready to go home, she thinks. She wonders if Sasuke ever misses Konoha. If he ever misses home. (Was Konoha ever home to him?) Then she feels her hand sink into the wall. Her head whips around as she sees one of the bricks push inward. She pushes harder, until the grinding of stone relinquishes into a click. The wall crumbles. It seems that the explosion from earlier broke the mechanism.
Regardless, Sakura ducks her head to squeeze through the hole that has appeared, and on the other side she is rendered speechless. The room sprawls out before her, empty and bare but familiar. To her right, aligned against the corner, there is a desk and a chair pulled out in front of it. Someone was here, not too long ago. She walks over. Somehow, she can tell—if there is anything of value in this room, it will be in this desk. She reaches a tentative hand toward the drawer, careful not to break it. It’s unlocked, and it slides out smoothly. There’s a blank white sheet of paper. It’s been ripped apart and put back together. The paper is fraying at the edges, and when she flips it over she begins to cry.
The smiling faces of their younger selves—Kakashi, Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura—they are gazing back at her, though Sasuke and Naruto are, of course, glaring at each other more than they are posing for a picture. There’s no doubt about it. This belongs to Sasuke, and it proves nothing if not that Sasuke thinks of Konoha, of them. Enough that the attempt to sever these ties is remedied by tape and glue, shoddy though the job is. Sasuke is not yet out of reach, and for now, that is enough.
WHEN Sakura tells Naruto she loves him, she already knows that Naruto won't be fooled. He’s not that same naive kid anymore. But she says it anyway, because it’s worth a try if it means obtaining closure. She disregards the shocked faces of all those around her, ignoring the way their eyes are baring into her back. She meets Naruto’s gaze, and she meets it with headstrong determination, a conduct becoming of the kunoichi she knows she can be. She will kill Sasuke, and she will kill her love when she does. Then it will all be over.
She tells Naruto she loves him. That she’s done chasing after the once noble Sasuke who has fallen to criminal and fugitive status. She says to him that Sasuke keeps getting farther and farther away, that in her mind’s eye she can hardly see the Uchiha crest on his back anymore. That it is Naruto, who remains steadfast by her side and staying true to his word, whom she loves now. A woman’s heart is as changeable as the autumn sky, she laughs, and she hugs him.
Naruto does not move, and instead he shoves her back by the shoulders. He tells her, “I hate people who lie to themselves.”
They argue. Naruto says it's not just about the promise anymore. He wants to help Sasuke, and Sakura can see through the windows to his soul that he knows more than he is letting on. Inside, Sakura wants to scream. Why is she always the last one to know things? Why is she always outside of the loop? What does Naruto know that he cannot tell her, that she does not deserve to know? How can she ever reach Sasuke when everything is always one step ahead of her, whether enemy or comrade or information or life?
“Fine!” she tells him. “I’m going home.”
She beckons Kiba and Lee and Sai, and they follow. She bites her lip to stop it from trembling. She cannot show weakness here. Sakura must not falter.
Her plan is simple, and executed despite a few bumps on the way. Kiba, Sai, and Lee are put to sleep, Naruto caught in it too.
At the bridge, she sees him, cloaked and standing over a woman’s body. Sakura doesn’t have time to worry about who she is.
“Sasuke!” she yells. “I’ve come to join you! I’ve gone rogue from Konoha.”
Sasuke meets her eyes with skepticism, eyes blood red and whirling with the Sharingan. He tells her that if she’s serious, she’ll kill the woman he’s standing over. Sakura can tell she’s wounded, though not fatally. She could live, if Sakura treated her. But Sakura says that she’ll do whatever Sasuke wants, and even when she flinches at Sasuke’s desire to destroy Konoha, she forges onward. When she walks by Sasuke, a poisoned kunai is ready to strike. With it in her trembling grasp, she thinks to herself, “Right now, if I stab Sasuke, it’ll all be over.”
That moment of hesitation, the multitude of thoughts that flash through her head in that single millisecond are enough to spell her doom. A chidori is crackling with static behind her, and if it weren’t for Kakashi intercepting and redirecting the blow, Sakura was as good as dead. Of course she knows why she faltered, even if she resolved time and time again to bring this to a close. She doesn’t want it all to be over. She wants Sasuke to come home, to be himself again, to smile with her and Naruto and Kakashi and to be Team Seven.
Kakashi orders Sakura to take the woman and leave. Tells her that this is not a burden she needs to bear alone. That it is his fault, his failure as their teacher and mentor, that led to this rift between them. Sakura is tired of being coddled. Tired of things being out of her hands and sick of being reminded time and time again that she can do nothing but rely on others. She takes the red-haired woman who Sasuke has now abandoned away from the battle, treating her as the tears flow uncontrollably. She’s careful to make sure none of them drip onto open wounds, because she can handle this, at the very least.
“Sasuke…” coughs the woman, her eyes on the verge of unconsciousness, “you don’t know Sasuke anymore.”
Everything after that is a blur. She leaps into action, ricocheting herself off the arch of the bridge in a sudden movement, kunai ready to pierce the very back she has spent her adolescent years chasing after. But she freezes, and she falters once more. She cannot do it, and such is the curse of love.
Sasuke whirls around and brings a hand to her throat. This time, Sakura is okay with it. Better that she die by his hand than somewhere on the battlefield, unfulfilled. She closes her eyes, waiting for the release of death. This love was going to die eventually.
That much is evident when it is Naruto, always only ever Naruto, who can reach Sasuke with his words.
IT is in the midst of battle when Sakura sees him again. Kneading chakra and channeling into her medical ninjutsu as she treats Naruto, Sasuke leaps down to land in front of them. He says her name, for the first time in what feels like forever, and the sound of his voice washes over her like a springtime breeze. This is the Sasuke she knows. Warm and strong and genuine. Sure, his announcement of his interest in the position of Hokage shocks her (as it does everyone else), but she can look past it.
At his arrival, Naruto has seemingly recharged and been given a burst of new energy. Looking over his shoulder, he thanks her for the healing, tells her to take a break.
“Let’s go, Sasuke,” Naruto says, and Sakura is sure that he means no harm and is simply oblivious to how the words spear her heart. She’s done being reduced to a spectator. She’s done sitting on the sidelines and merely being the third member of Team Seven who cannot compare to the great Uzumaki Naruto and infamous Uchiha Sasuke. Haruno Sakura is a Konoha shinobi, too. Haruno Sakura is an apprentice of one of the great prodigal three, too.
She will take her stand here. Not once has she been proud of her life, of her journey of being a shinobi. But today, that will change. She always considered herself beneath them, figured that their destinies were simply far greater than hers. But Haruno Sakura, you are not only the third member of Team Seven, an apprentice of the prodigal three, but also the Fifth Hokage’s disciple. She feels the heat bubbling in her forehead as the 100 Healings Mark settles. Her once greatest insecurity has now become the shore which harbors her greatest achievement, and this time, she stands beside and not behind Naruto and Sasuke. This time, their clan crests circle each other as equals. Yes, this is how it was always meant to be. Even in the crossfire of war, Sakura cannot help but wish for this moment to last forever.
But when the tides of the war ebb and flow, as they do, she wonders if that feeling of equality were nothing more than her own childish delusions. A belief in grandeur, a meaningless faith in a destiny greater than oneself—was that all her efforts amounted to?
Obito is kneeling before her. Sasuke has been whisked away to some other realm in a different time-space that only Obito can reach. Naruto is off occupying Kaguya, and Sakura has once again been relegated to a supporting role where she cannot do anything on her own. Assisting others, helping others—don’t get her wrong, she’s happy to do these things. But it is so damn frustrating to see her teammates do, on their own, the things that she cannot.
Sakura swore off self-pity years ago. Still, it manages to stick, like gum on the sole of your shoes, the residue forever there, unable to be washed off. As she’s pouring all her chakra into Obito, she can only pray for a miracle. She had tossed off her tattered combat vest, it falling to the floor as she quickly pushed her sleeves up. She released her mark, letting all the chakra she’d been kneading and storing flood through her. She can feel a prickling electricity travel down her neck down to arms, the mass amount of chakra she’s circulating through her body making her heat up, and if Obito can’t find Sasuke soon, she’s going to burst.
Suddenly, a portal opens, and off in the distance stands Sasuke, facing the opposite direction. She can see him as clear as day, though—she’s been staring at his back all this time, after all. She’d recognize it no matter the distance, because no physical distance can match the mental rift she’s come to realize exists between them. She still loves him, of course. But she can’t deny it any longer.
She yells his name. It falls off her tongue flawlessly because it is second nature. His name was engraved into her from the moment she was born—this was the boy she was always meant to love and always will.
Sasuke turns and begins to run, and it takes every fiber of Sakura’s being to maintain the portal, and she can tell Obito is struggling just as hard. She’s not sure how much longer she can hold out, and she can tell she’s nearing her end when the portal begins spasming, flickering as it tries to close. The portal is growing smaller and smaller as the seconds tick by, and Sasuke is nowhere near. This is it, Sakura thinks. This will take the place of the greatest failure of her life.
Her eyelids flutter as sparks fly from her hands, the heat combusting in her veins as she falls back from Obito, weakly. Her body is collapsing, and she can see the ground growing ever closer, until—
She feels an arm around her and a warm presence she could never mistake. She has barely enough strength to merely shift her gaze to the man who caught her, and she is met in return with the same red wheels of the Sharingan. But this time, there is no spite, no hatred, no vengeance. There is fire, but it is gentle and caressing, and suddenly she realizes there was never a rift between them at all.
To show one’s back is to show vulnerability. To leave it unguarded symbolizes trust. Sasuke and Naruto have shown her theirs all this time not because they were leaving her behind, but because they knew she would never betray them. It’s so stupid. If that was what they meant, they should’ve just said that. Sakura feels a tear well up in her eye.
“You’ve got it from here,” she mumbles, giving Sasuke a grin.
Sasuke allows himself the slightest of smiles. “I made it here thanks to you,” he says.
“Hmph!” she scoffs with pride. “You got that right.”
“Sakura.” Her name sounds so right in Sasuke’s voice. “You did well.”
She feels a blush rise to her cheeks as her consciousness begins to fade.
“Come back alive,” she says as he sets her down against a rock. “And tell that to stupid Naruto, too.”
Once this was all over, they would be together again. As three, as Team Seven. The way things were always meant to be. And this time, Sakura’s not falling behind.

Naruto's secret
I really don't know how this will do, if anyone's going to be interested, but lately I've been over-analyzing Naruto and read a lot of takes on the ending. I wrote this short little snippet with Naruto's true feelings in mind regarding his ending. Mind that I incorporated my original characters, Daichi and Kasumi Uzumaki, who is Naruto's older sister. They're not the main point of the story but if anyone's interested in them, I could share some infos about them later on. Disclaimer: This is a HEAVY anti-Naruto ending, anti-NaruHina, anti-Naruto The Last, slight anti-SasuSaku. NH shippers DNI. _____________________________________________________________
"You think I could stay the whole week?" Naruto asked his brother-in-law who was draping a blanket over his slerping wife's shoulders.
"Mh? Sure, I don't think Kasumi would mind but dont you have your family to return to?" Daichi questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"Ah right..." A small sigh left Naruto's lips as they twitched into a sad smile. "Is... something wrong between you and Hinata?" Daichi sat across from Naruto, looking at him worriedly. Naruto pinched the bridge of his nose and exhaled through his nostrils. "Can I be honest with you, Daichi? From a man to another."
Daichi nodded without second thought, "Of course Naruto. We're brothers, aren't we?" He grinned at the blonde in front of him, causing a warm smile to spread across his lips but it quickly turned into a frown. "I never loved Hinata." He finally admitted, causing Daichi's eyes to widen in shock
"What?! What do you mean you never loved Hinata?" He asked, standing up from his seat and slamming his hands on the table. "Not so loud!" Naruto whisper-yelled, putting a finger in front of his mouth as he glanced at his sleeping sister worriedly. When he saw that she was still fast asleep, he let out another sigh before continuing. "Look. I know this sounds awful but hear me out. When we went on that mission to prevent the Moon from falling on the Earth, I got caught into a genjutsu."
Daichi's eyebrows knitted in confusion, "Wait, I thought perfect jinchurikis couldn't get caught into genjutsus." "I know, I was confused to but... It happened. And in this genjutsu, I got to see Hinata's memories. How she spent her whole life pining after me, yearning for me to acknowledge her. I felt bad. Because I never noticed it. I didn't know she loved me. I thought what was doing was merely camaraderie because I knew I'd do the same for any of my friends. Then I remembered Neji's last words. How my life wasn’t just my own anymore. And then- I talked with Sakura. She said that a girl’s feelings don’t change that easily. So I understood that she’d never love me like I love her, and that Hinata will always keep loving me. That’s why I decided to return her feelings. So I could hopefully grant Neji's last wish and make her happy." Naruto finally admitted, after 13 years of repressed emotions.
____________________________________________________________
Lemme know if y'all want to see the rest, cuz I wrote more, just wanted to see how this do.

Thoughts on this
https://twitter.com/NARUTO_kousiki/status/1664439437026050050?s=20
The artist is more on about being a fan of Kishimoto and Naruto more then anything. I can agree and appreciate that he tried to make Retsuden in Kishimoto's style and do think they did it really well.
However the fact remains that the story of Retsuden is not Kishimoto's work. The plot of the novel has nothing to do with Kishimoto himself. It was just adapted into a manga, but as you can see in how different Sasuke acts in Gaiden which was personally done by Kishimoto and how different he acts in the Retsuden novel and vice verse the manga you can tell there is a huge difference in how the original author portrays Sasuke as well SasuSaku.
It's really annoying how some fans are using the interview to uplift SasuSaku when the interview is more about the drawing of Retsuden with nothing to do with the story of it nor the ship.
Even the revised proposal of one page Kishimoto did was simply the manga ending to Sasuke and Sakura's back that is it. However Sakura stans are shouting that Kishimoto did proper work on that final page when he simply made a slight revision to what the panels show then left it to Shingo Kimura to finish up. Kishimoto doesn't actively take part in the manga itself only giving some opening and closing aid to a fellow artist.
Its all about the drawing of and nothing to do with the plot/story at all.

OTPs and NOTPs have less to do with the ships and more to do with the characters
(Disclaimer: I’m speaking in extremely general terms and there are exceptions amongst ships/shippers. I’m also not trying to devalue or insult ships, or claim that one ship/shipper is somehow better than another. This post is meant to be an observation, not a judgement.)
I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that, at least amongst the most popular ships in the Naruto fandom, many ships have very little to do with the dynamics between two characters and more to do with one character getting their “happily ever after.” This is most apparent when you pay less attention to what a shipper is saying and more to how they’re saying it. A lot of ships are described using character-centric language.
(Disclaimer: I’m not saying don’t listen to what’s being said ever, otherwise you’ll never understand their thought process, I’m just saying that you can learn just as much about a ship by listening to the language used.)
SasuSaku is a Sakura-centric ship where Sakura gets the man she wants while simultaneously winning against all the other girls fighting for his hand. This is why in the retsuden Sasuke is so out of character and is sometimes referred to as “whipped for Sakura” by fans.
NaruHina is a Hinata-centric ship where Hinata marries the man she’s pined after for so long. This is why the last focuses on Hinata so much and Naruto is treated as an incredibly dense knight in shining armor.
NaruSaku is a ship that goes either way approximately 60-40. Naruto-centric shippers want Naruto to anchieve every dream he’s ever had and Sakura-centric shippers want Sakura to settle down with the person whos been so dedicated to her. (I say either instead of both because I very rarely find shippers that vocalize the benefits for both parties.) This is (one of the reasons) why so many NaruSaku fans were surprised that it didn’t become canon; they think that Naruto’s wants weren’t prioritized or that Sakura’s character arc is incomplete.
SasuNaruSasu I’ve also seen go either way but it is largely a Naruto-centric ship where Naruto saves the man he spent so much time chasing after. This is (one of the reasons) why SNS fans think that the ship would’ve been canon if it were straight.
(I could go on, but that would take a while and I’m sure you’re smart enough to figure the rest out or do your own research.)
Why does the Naruto fandom often use the words “deserve” and “earn” despite that not being how relationships work? This is why. Why is one character more frequently used as a self-insert than others? This is why.
This is also where a lot of NOTPs stem from. There are a lot reasons why people don’t ship something or viscerally hate a ship, and this is one of the big ones. “Anti-” shippers often don’t like a certain character and don’t like any ships that favor that character, and they certainly don’t like any ships that favor that character over their favorite. This is why many Sasuke fans hate SasuSaku and SNS. This is why many Naruto fans don’t care for NaruHina. NaruSaku again is a slight exception in the way that some “anti-” shippers hate Sakura and don’t want Naruto with her or hate Naruto and want Sakura with someone else.
This is why I have personally blacklisted many anti-[enter ship here] tags. They’re full of character bashing.
Once again, this is meant to be writing out a general pattern I’ve observed. It’s not meant to be against any ships and I’m sorry if it comes across that way. This might just be me saying what everyone else already knows, but I’ve already typed it and I’m not going back.

it's painful recalling how pathetic they had the main girl of the team be for the sake of propping up her team mates. Even after [ redacted because spoilers ] . OP beware slight hinted at spoilers ahead for the series
Really the more Naruto properties/tie ins insist on making SasuSaku seem like this romantic slow burn of Sasuke learning "respect" for Sakura the more it falters because of how bare and brittle the basis of the ship is in part 1 and 2. The gay fanon ships feel more canon then the supposed canon ship(s). Some hetero fanon ships also feel more canon then the supposed canon, but since a lot of those tend to have sakura as a self insert to ship her with Itachi, Kakashi, Obito, ect I would not agree with the sentiment of the sentence .
It’s shockingly embarrassing how much Sakura just chooses to be pathetic and continuously pin after Sasuke , like have some shame… constantly worried about him but the only time he ever paid you mind was against his will, stricken in agonizing pain from the curse mark, literally the only time he ever let you get that close was cause he couldn’t prevent it.

Uhm hi!
How are you? I have two questions if your don’t mind and have time to answer them:
1. the letter Sakura gets from Sasukes Hawke many people say it’s for naruto since it’s his weeding. But also some say it’s for Sakura since it’s her birthday. I’ll think it’s for her. He could order the hawke to give it naruto? Also why would be blush if he just send a letter for his friend?
2. sasuke voiceactor made a 15 min video how „sasuke“ explain his feelings for Sakura and he stated that sasuke always loved her but couldn’t grasped that feeling because it has the potential to hurt him. Do you think that’s really a possibility? Or just for us sasusaku fans?
Thank you 🙏 and I hope my English was ok
The letter that Sakura gets from Sasuke was almost certainly meant for Naruto. I say this for a few reasons.
Firstly, the show made absolutely no indication whatsoever that it was Sakura’s birthday, so for Sasuke to have sent her a congratulations letter for that purpose wouldn’t have made any sense.
Secondly, for him to have just ignored his best friend getting married and send a letter to Sakura without even mentioning anything for Naruto would have been very disrespectful.
Thirdly, who says “congratulations” for someone's birthday anyway? You say “happy birthday”, not “congratulations”. People saying congratulations is to acknowledge and celebrate an achievement (like getting married), but someone’s birthday is not an achievement; It’s a natural and recurring event.
Regarding Sakura blushing, I was told a while ago that in Japan, couples traditionally send their wedding congratulations together, so Sasuke sending his wedding congratulations for Naruto to Sakura, gave the slight implication that they were a couple, giving Naruto their wedding congratulations together, and that explains Sakura's blush in the anime while she was reading the note.
And as for Yuri Lowenthal's Sasuke ASMR video, it was just a bit of SS fan service that he posted on Sasuke's birthday. It doesn't have any bearing or relevance to any canon material at all.

sasusaku month 2021 day 21 - flower
title: flower girl.
summary: Flower Shop AU - Sasuke works at his mother’s flower shop, and every Wednesday, this girl comes by to buy some flowers. Though he doesn’t know her name, he can’t help but be curious about her.
.
When he thinks about it, Wednesdays must be the busiest day of the week whenever he’s helping his mother at the shop. They start with his alarm forcing him out of bed at 4am so he and his brother can be at the shop before the clock strikes 5am. They take a 10-minute walk— 5 when they’re not that sleepy— make some coffee and wait a little for the truck that arrives with the fresh flowers.
Carefully, then, the brothers unload all the products and take them to his mother’s atelier behind the shop so, by the time she arrives, she can start working her magic into the flowers she loves so much. Mikoto puts the right flowers for the right pots, works on some orders and prepares some bouquets to put on display.
Everything has to be ready and perfect for when they finally open the shop for the clients at 7am.
Everything has to be ready before she arrives.
He’s sitting behind the counter today, playing a game on his phone, when his eyes slowly drift to the clock on the wall. It’s been at least 30 minutes since Itachi turned the sign to ‘open’, and any minute now he knows she will walkthrough that door so she can buy her weekly supply of flowers. For the last couple of months, she’s always their first customer every Wednesday, and he has no reason to believe today will be any different.
Seven more minutes pass, and finally, the bell rings, announcing that someone has entered the shop. His dark eyes immediately follow the sound, and he can’t ignore the slight sense of satisfaction that spreads across his chest when his dark eyes land on pink.
Right on time, he thinks.
From the corner of his eyes, he watches as she walks into the shop, her emerald eyes looking straight at the new hydrangeas. She’s wearing a green summer dress that falls just below her knees, and whose skirt dances freely around her legs. The strap of her small, white purse hangs on her right, sun-kissed shoulder and he notices the way her small fingers are delicately holding it. Her hair— always short and pink— is loosened, the tips just below her chin-line and a stubborn lock brushing her cheek.
Normally, he doesn’t pay that much attention to the people that come by the shop, but for a reason he can’t quite pinpoint, it’s different with her. Sure, she’s a beautiful client, and that alone is enough to catch his eye, but he knows himself well enough to know he’s better than that.
Something about her has caught his attention, to the point where he’s found himself waiting for her to arrive every week now. Perhaps he’s just grown curious over time. Seeing such a young girl almost religiously coming to the store to buy flowers makes him wonder about the actual reasons why she actually does that. Are those flowers for herself? Are they maybe for her mother or even her girlfriend? Not that it’s any of his business, but shouldn’t girls like her be receiving the flowers? Could it be that her boyfriend is that useless?
A sigh escapes his lips. He really doesn’t know why he even cares. He doesn’t know her name, to begin with. Even after helping her more than once, never before has Sasuke bothered to ask for it. It’s going to sound weird, or at least that’s what he tells his brother whenever they end up talking about her— and that happens more times than the young Uchiha dares to admit.
One day, perhaps, he might find out her name. For now, though, he will just continue calling her Flower Girl. It’s not the most creative or specific nickname, but it works just fine whenever he needs to talk about her or even judge the flowers she choses.
He likes to think it’s a good nickname. Besides, it’s not like anyone apart from him and his brother will ever know about this.
Sasuke finds himself resting his face on his right hand as his eyes unconsciously drift back to her. Itachi is showing her the lilies now, and apparently, he said something funny because she’s laughing at his words. For a second, then, she looks at where he’s standing and their eyes meet briefly before she looks back at his brother.
She seems to be in a good mood. There’s a contagious smile on her face, and he can’t help but let his lips twitch upward at that scene.
Eventually, Flower Girl chooses a bucket of blue hydrangeas and starts making her way towards the cashier. He straightens his posture, then, clearing his throat so he can properly greet her. In less than 10 seconds, she’s in front of him and she places the flowers on the counter. She mutters a soft ’hey’, to which he nods politely before proceeding to do his job.
“Would you like anything else?” He asks, cordially.
“No, thanks. Just the hydrangeas today.”
As he registers her products, he steals a glance and can’t help but notice the way her lips twitch as she waits for him. She’s playing with her hair, tugging it behind her ear, and softly, he sees the way her tongue comes out to wet her own lips. Flower Girl takes a deep breath, and it’s as if something ignites inside her eyes.
“Excuse me, but I have to ask…” Her voice comes out, a little too low at first, but eventually, it settles into a more consistent tone. His curiosity peaks, and immediately, he stops what he’s doing and turns to face her. “Are you Uchiha Sasuke?”
He’s confused for a moment, a blank expression spread across his face. His dark eyes are slightly widened as he looks at her face, failing when he tries to read her real intentions. Her eyes are even brighter from such a short distance, and he finds himself fighting the urge to just lose himself in those green pools of hers and in the way his name rolled out of her tongue. “Yes. Can I help you?”
“Oh, no, don’t worry. I don’t need your help or anything like that.” She starts, waving her hand in front of her face as to brush off any formalities. There’s a soft smile on her face, and he doesn’t miss the way her cheeks are weakly tinged in pink. “I was just making sure it was really you.”
“Well…” He starts, adjusting the name tag on his shirt. “That’s me.”
“Good. I guess that makes me your Flower Girl, then.”
Her words catch him completely by surprise, and it’s as if the entire world turns silent around him. His eyes widen, his lips part, and the first sound he registers after what feels like an eternity is his own heartbeat inside his chest. It’s slow, at first, to the point where he thinks it might suddenly stop, but eventually, it grows faster in what he concludes to be pure despair.
“W-what?” He asks, though he knows better than to believe he heard it wrong.
“Your Flower Girl.” She repeats, and even if he thought it wasn’t possible, he starts to feel worse.
His chest grows inconveniently warmer, the heat spreading all the way up to the tips of his ears. His throat is dry, but that doesn’t bother him because Sasuke can’t find it in himself to form any words right now. He’s dumbfounded, experiencing a mix of shock and embarrassment for the first time in his short life, and it’s safe to say he hates the way it feels. He wishes the ground could just swallow him whole right now, but he knows better than to believe life is fair. Especially his life.
Fuck.
He can’t believe this is happening right now. How on earth does she even know about the Flower Girl thing? It was meant to be a secret he would take to the grave and not something meant to be discovered after just a couple of months by some random girl. The only ones beside him who know about that are his mother and—
Itachi. Oh, that bastard.
He steals a glance at his older brother, who’s simply watching him with a guilty smile on his face. He’s not trying to hide or deny anything, and that only serves to infuriate him even more. Itachi waves teasingly at him before disappearing behind the stacks, leaving him all alone with the pinkette. He was just betrayed by his own blood and even if all he wants right now is to become an only child, there are more pressing matters standing right in front of him with the prettiest green eyes he has ever seen.
Sasuke needs to find a way out of this whole mess, he knows, but nothing comes to mind. No last-minute trick or plausible excuse. No perfectly calculated accident to ruin the conversation or blow him away. Nothing that would make her believe this is all just a big misunderstanding instead of the purest truth. The Uchiha can’t escape this situation, at least not without making things worse. He needs to think. He needs to use his mind to get himself out of this thing, and he needs to do it fast or else he will lose their best customer, his pride as a man and the reason for his Wednesdays to be at least bearable.
His dark eyes are now looking at her because that’s the only thing he can bring himself to do. Instinctively, he’s trying to find something— anything, really— that will help him bring his mind back to his body so he can, at least, find the right words to apologize. He then begins to note the unique color of her hair, her bright, emerald eyes; the barely visible sun freckles on her cheeks, and he really starts to feel his heart calming down, but that’s just until he sees it.
A sly smirk is taking over her lips. It’s a tricky one, and judging by how she’s not even trying to hide it, Sasuke immediately realizes she knows exactly what she’s just done. She’s up to something— Flower Girl is clearly messing with him. She’s intentionally teasing him with all those words, and right now it’s clear that he has just fallen for her act.
Oh, that girl. Who would’ve thought such a beautiful girl like her would posses such a cunning mind?
Before the youngest Uchiha can even bring himself to say anything, a giggle escapes her lips, and soon, it grows into a full laughter. He watches as her burst of happiness reaches her eyes and how genuine that whole thing is as it fills the entire store with that warm feeling. If his social misery can bring out something like that, well, perhaps he should start telling her more about his best friend’s love life.
After a couple of seconds, then, her laughter fades with a sigh and she uses her right index to wipe a tear that had threatened to roll down her face. There’s a smile gracing her lips, and he swears he could feel his heart skipping a beat just now. “I’m so sorry. Oh, my.” She chuckles. “You should’ve seen the look on your face.”
“Tch.” He scoffs.
“I was just messing with you. Or—well— maybe I should say that I’m just helping with your older brother’s prank. He’s the one who wanted to leave you in an uncomfortable position. And judging by your reaction, I guess it worked.”
An annoyed pout now takes over his lips. “How very mature of you two.”
“I know… I know, my bad.” She agrees. “Sorry about that.”
His eyes watch as she scratches the back of her head and he realizes she’s actually feeling guilty about the whole thing and that doesn’t help him soothe his nerves at all. She should not be the one apologizing. Not when he was the one who called her Flower Girl in the first place. He’s never meant it as a bad thing— quite the opposite, in fact— nevertheless, he should’ve been more considerate. If anyone should be apologizing, it was him. And that was exactly what he was going to say.
“Look.” He started, taking a deep breath. “You don’t have to apologize. I do. Sorry about this whole thing. I shouldn’t have given you a nickname to begin with. I promise I didn’t mean to be rude or anything like that.”
“Oh, don’t worry about that. It’s fine, really. I didn’t think it was rude or anything like that. It was pretty cute, actually.” She smiles at him, and it’s as if he can finally feel his heart beating again. “Besides, it’s not like I was meant to even know about that in the first place, right?”
“Definitely not.” He answers, a little too quickly for his own liking.
“You should thank your brother for that.”
“Oh, later I will, for sure.”
Another chuckle escapes her lips, and he’s glad to know she didn’t mind the nickname— cute, she even said. Now that most of the embarrassment has faded, Sasuke can think clearly again and even if he’s still plotting a revenge against his older sibling, it’s undeniable that having his secret revealed got him a chance to openly talk to her for the first time. They’re making small conversation and it’s nothing really important, but it’s already something.
It’s a start, at least.
The smile on her face suddenly changes into a small pout, and he can easily tell she’s curious. Though they don’t really know each other, he likes the way her expressions are so clear and honest. She bites her lower lip, then, her eyes fidgeting for a moment. She clears her throat and her attention returns to him. Flower girl is staring at him, and if not for her pink hair and inoffensive looks, he would’ve been intimidated by that.
“What is it?” He asks, not really taking in that stare anymore. “Is there something wrong?”
“No, not really… It’s just…” She starts, her eyes narrowing a bit. “Why Flower Girl?”
“What?”
“Why did you choose this nickname? Flower Girl, I mean… I’m pretty sure I’m not the only girl that comes by to get some flowers.”
His eyes widen slightly for a moment until his expression returns to normal. Of course she would be curious about that, he thought. Thinking about it now, that was probably the most generic nickname he could’ve come up with for her. Truth is, he has started calling her like that simply because he never really knew her name, but it’s not like he knows the name of every female customer that comes into the store. The thing that made Flower Girl the Flower Girl was probably the fact that she was the only female customer that actually caught his attention in all the time he’s been working at the shop.
Maybe it was the unusual color of her hair or even the fact that she comes by every week morning, but he can’t deny that he was captivated by her. She’s a very beautiful and attractive woman, sure, but there’s more to it, he knows. Still, it’s not like he can tell her that without sounding like a weirdo. And if anything, he has already sounded like one a lot today.
“Your name… I didn’t know it— still don’t know it.” He starts, and suddenly, he realizes that saying it is harder than he had imagined. His eyes look down for a moment, and instinctively, he uses his index finger to scratch his cheek. “And since you’re basically the only girl who comes by every week, then, you know… Flower Girl.”
“Oh… I see.” She says bluntly, and a pensive expression takes over her demeanor. Though he’s sure she is going to add more to that, silence settles between them. It’s not really uncomfortable, he notices, but it still leaves him wanting more. More of her stories, more of her laugh—more of her.
He needs to keep their conversation going. He has to find a new subject so it can be easier for him to properly talk to her when she returns next week. It’s his only chance and he can’t let it go to waste. He can’t let her—
“Sakura.” She starts, her eyes switching from her feet to his dark orbs. “My name is Sakura.”
Her soft voice catches him off guard, and he’s taken aback by that. When he looks at her again, he can see a small blush tinging her cheeks, and for the first time, he can see an inch of embarrassment in her. Earlier, she had no problem with the nickname, but when it comes to her real name, well…
And just when he thought she couldn’t get any cutter.
“Hn, how very ironic for you to have been named after a flower.”
“Yeah.” She chuckles. “I guess I was destined to become Flower Girl.”
The corner of his lips slightly curl upwards as he finds himself surpassing a smirk that wants to escape. “It’s nice to officially meet you, Sakura.”
“You, too, Sasuke.” She smiles at him, her head tilting to the right as she does so. Her hair responds to the gravity of her movement and he watches as some of her pink locks sway. “I’m glad I could finally talk to you.”
“Uh? Were you trying to talk to me before?”
“Well, to be honest, yeah…” She shrugs, somewhat shyly.
“Are you, perhaps, stalking me?” He smirks, watching as she gets slightly embarrassed.
“Shannarou, that’s not that!” Her face grows a shade of red and he can’t help but notice the peculiar expression she used. “It’s just that you’re the first person I’ve met in this city that seems to be the same age as me, and I guess I was just looking for a reference or something. Living alone in a strange city isn’t really that simple.”
A familiar warmth takes over his chest at her words, and unconsciously, Sasuke starts to sympathize with her current condition. She’s a young girl, and she’s all alone in a big city like Konoha. Even if he has never really left the safety of his parents’ house, it isn’t hard for him to imagine how difficult it must be to go through all that by herself. Whatever her reasons for choosing this might be, it’s still something that will take the pinkette a lot of time to get used to.
She must be lonely, he thinks, but decides not to mention anything about that for now. He simply nods at her, showing Sakura that he comprehends her feelings, and she simply smiles in return. Her eyes delicately fall to the hydrangeas she chose, and he doesn’t miss the tenderness that is decorating her expression right now.
“They help me a lot, you know? The flowers, I mean.”
“Do they?”
“Aah.” She nods, excitedly. “They make my small apartment seem happier, somehow. It’s nice coming home to them. So—uhm— thank you, I guess.”
The smile plastered on her face easily makes its way to her bright eyes, and his heart skips a beat. This girl— this gentle and talkative girl— is really thanking him for selling her flowers every week. Though they’ve just discovered each other's names, she’s telling him small parts of her life that seem so pure and fragile; and for a moment, he feels like their connection is heading beyond flowers and nicknames.
He’s growing fond of her, he can tell. Sasuke knows he’s no longer just curious to know about her reasons to buy the flowers or why she comes by every week. There’s a lot more to it, for now he finds himself wanting to know about certain aspects of her private life that have nothing to do with plants or fertilizer. He wants her to tell him more about herself— as long as that’s what she wants, of course.
He wants to know Sakura. And something tells him that, eventually, he will.
Without thinking much, the young Uchiha smiles back in return, slowly pushing the bucket of flowers back towards her. “Shouldn’t we be thanking you for shopping here?”
“You’re probably right.” She chuckles, giving him her credit card so she can pay for the hydrangeas. “I guess I just can’t help it. I do love your flowers. Sometimes I get so excited about them that I leave home before breakfast.”
“What?” He asks, slightly shocked.
“I can’t help it. It’s stronger than me.”
“Tch.” He sighs. How annoying, he thinks, and the expression spread across his face clearly gives away. She giggles, then, and a sudden idea comes to his mind. “Did you leave home without eating today?”
“Oh, no. Not today. I had a nice breakfast this morning.” She states, proudly. “Why do you ask?”
“Well…” He starts, scratching the back of his neck as a reflex. “Whenever you leave without breakfast, there’s always coffee here. I don’t know if you like it or not, but—”
“I love coffee.” Sakura cuts through his speech, a little too excited. “Next time, then, we’ll have some coffee together.”
A soft smile takes a couple of seconds to make its way to her lips, and he finds himself growing a little too excited about said next time. Sasuke doesn’t know when it’s going to be, but he can already imagine certain things that make him feel at ease.
A morning spent with Flower Girl… It will be a good day.
“Next time, then.” He confirms.
“I’ll be waiting.”
It will be a pleasant Wednesday, indeed.

Well, Fuck - alternatively: On the Death of an Actress
I’m a bit late to this party so forgive me for my lateness (the scandal broke a year ago), but I just found out about Zheng Shuang’s surrogacy scandal. For those who aren’t in the know, Zheng Shuang plays Weiwei in Love O2O, but all her works are blacklisted because after having two children through surrogacy, she attempted to terminate them through late-term abortions when her relationship with their father turned sour. As a result, all her works, including Love O2O, have been blacklisted in China.
For those of you who don’t know, I’m probably most well-known as an author for my Naruto/Love O2O Fusion fic, A Tiny Smirk is Devastating. I first fell in love with the story as A Slight Smile is Very Charming back in 2018, when I was getting into translate webnovels, then devoured everything about it, including the drama and the movie. I loved Yangyang in it, and up until now, didn’t have a problem with Zheng Shuang (although she gets panned as kind of flat as an actress, but like I thought she suited the Chinese Professional Woman id quite well). But reading this from a western perspective, especially one that has been in the CS/Professional working women POV - there’s several things about the story that rub me entirely the wrong way, so ATSiD is my way of restructuring the story a bit to adjust for the stuff I don’t like. Plus like, quite frankly, while I could see Sasuke overlapping with Xiao Nai really closely, I really wanted a more outspoken female character in Weiwei’s place as a tribute to all the CS women I do know, closer to Novel Weiwei or Movie Weiwei vs Love O2O Weiwei, and Sakura fits the bill quite nicely.
Let me be perfectly clear - I am 100% pro-a woman’s right to choose, because pregnancy has devastating effects on a woman’s body and psyche, and no one can be asked to give up their life for someone else. Zheng Shuang was not pregnant, and abandoning her children just because she broke up with her boyfriend shows callousness towards life that I’m quite frankly disgusted with, same way I would be disgusted with deadbeat dads. ATSiD is not an endorsement of her or her work as an actress. ATSiD is a tribute to an adorable, sweet, uncomplicated but also deep work that happens to have the misfortune of fostering a terrible human’s career. I choose to continue working on it as a tribute to everyone else, and to write a version where she doesn’t abandon her children >.>
I haven’t given up on ATSiD - I’ll be back to it soon. Just struggling a bit with nailing Sasuke and Sakura meeting IRL, because their dynamic is so important to get just right for the rest of the story to play out properly. This meeting is so crucial as a turning point from Online to Offline (Hence, O2O), in that it’s so awkward and funny, but also so painfully earnest, and I really want to nail that (Plus, muse decided we would publish SasuSaku Smut instead. And then against my better judgement, decided she wanted to do a ficlet challenge. To you know. Practice. Don’t ask me, ask the Muse).
So I’ll leave you with a snip from the next chapter that gives you an idea of why I’m struggling so hard with Chapter 34 of ATSiD (Under the jump) :) Note that this is a draft and not final, so don’t hold me to the exact wording
Uchiha-senpai though? There’s no way! Maybe there’s a hidden camera around here. Sakura tried to look around surreptitiously, but Sasuke saw her little movements.
The corner of his mouth quirked up. “Though you might finish algo early. Didn’t want to make you wait again.”
“Huh? Wait?” I don’t see any wires so they must be using fairly small battery-powered units. That limits the transmission range and video quality.
“The couple’s tournament.”
“Oh, that! No, that’s okay.” I don’t even see a lens. Must be a pinhole device of some kind.
“Lunch?”
“Uh-huh.” If I’m lucky, they won’t even have voice recording capability. That way no one will think I’m a total lunatic, asking the most eligible bachelor if he’s my dom, or whatever people will come up with.
“OK, let’s go then,” Go? We can’t go! What if the real Meister shows up while I’m still dealing with this hidden camera nonsense?
“...,” What if Meister picks up on this embarrassing crush I’ve had on Uchiha-senpai all along?
“....”
“....” What if-
“Sakura?”

Tumblr media
Hi friends!
I’ve finally published the introduction and first chapter to my Sarada-centric fic: Loss
My goal is for this to be a five-shot, but it may be a little longer depending on how much I write for each of the chapters. This fanfic will also have slight sasusaku and borusara for those that stan these ships. This will also be an emotional roller coaster with lots of angst, so have your tissues ready! But don’t worry, the ending will be comforting.
I’m still figuring out how to use tumblr and will try to post this fic on there that way it’ll be easier for those who don’t have a wattpad account. I want to be able to have all my chapters linked in one post (aka a masterlist) but I’m not really sure how to do that, so if anyone could give me a brief tutorial that would be much appreciated! I’ve also thought about making an account on fanfiction.net.
I am so excited to be writing again and hope that you give this a read, or even share it with some of your friends! I’m very content with how the first chapter came together and hope you all enjoy it. Feel free to comment your thoughts and feelings, as any feedback would be much appreciated!
With love,
Maddie <3

Ok I just wanted to write a really short and sweet smutty piece for ShikaTema. But I have failed miserably. I am too attached to Naruto-verse and all the characters in general. (Like, I'm so attached that I can't even read or watch most of NaruHina/SasuSaku smut - it feels WRONG).
There are a few after thoughts regarding this piece, too. I really enjoyed writing this. I really love ShikaTema and they were my first OTP. Hell, I didn't even know that the terms OTP or shipping existed when I started rooting for them. So, this is super close to my heart ❤️ and ✨unedited✨. I legit wrote 8.4k words on my phone and my eyes are rolling on the ground right now.
Anime: Naruto Shippuden (Set in post-Shippuden and pre-Boruto-verse.)
Characters: Shikamaru Nara x Temari Scenes with Ino, Sasuke, Naruto, Hinata, Sakura, Sai. Passing mention of Choji.
Genre: Fluff, angst, flirting, explicit sexual content 🥵, slight voyeurism, oral, raw sex
Word Count: 8.4k (yikes!)
Synopsis: Shikamaru has finally had enough of Temari’s incessant flirting
Rating: M
Minors, dni
Friends and family from all five villages had been invited to the annual Hanami Matsuri in Konoha. Hinata had invited some of Naruto's closest to their house for a brunch party before the matsuri started full swing. Hinata had cooked everything from scratch and Sakura and Ino had helped decorate her backyard with streamers and flowers. Everything looked immaculate and lovely. The boys were all specially thrilled to be getting together after such a long time.
"What a rowdy bunch," said Ino with a wide grin, a look of pride plastered on her face. Sakura grinned, too.
"Judgemental as always, Ino, I'll be joining em soon, ya know? Do you think I'm rowdy too, love? You're breaking my heart here." Shikamaru moved uncomfortably close to Ino's ear, making her squirm under his presence. He loved to lightly flirt with Ino and see her all flustered.
"Baaka janaai no? Take your charm elsewhere. Or I'm going to get Sai to beat you up one day."
"Hai hai, Ino Sensei," he winked at her and made his way to the bar to grab a beer and light a cigarette.
Sakura, visibly shaken by Shikamaru’s loose and flirtatious behaviour, grabbed Ino’s arm.
"What the hell was that, Ino?! Do...do you think he likes you?"
"What? No way. It's just an inside joke. He was the one who helped me get together with Sai, you know?"
After a long moment of admirinng the friendship she shared with Shikamaru, Ino spoke up.
"I just wish that someday he'll do something in his own i nterests, too."
"What do you mean?"
“There's someone. Loves her like a fucking dog. Like weak-in-the-knees-slash-worship-her kinda love, you know?"
"I just can’t imagine Shikamaru in the way you're describing him."
"Yeah, I get that. He really is tough to break into. Anyway, this isn't for me to share, Sakura. Let's have some of those karaage Hinata has prepared. I can't get enough of them."
Shikamaru leaned against the bar, craving a minute to himself. He wished Choji could have been there but he was away on a mission. Everyone was at the other end of the backyard or inside the house. He looked up at the sky, admiring the clouds slowly moving towards nowhere in particular. Before he could pop open the beer bottle, he noticed Temari entering with Kankuro and Gaara.
"Tsk, mendukse," he muttered under his breath.
He wasn't expecting to see Temari today. He really wasn't in the mood to be on his best behavior. The last mission had taken away a lot from him. He hadn't slept properly and he was tired. He wanted to just have a good time with the gang, maybe play some cards and get drunk out of his mind. But there she was, bright and beautiful in her stubbornness as always, making Shikamaru's heart sink and flutter all at the same time. He felt himself tighten up when she caught him looking at her.
"Hey! Shikamaru! How've you been?" she waved and shouted from across Naruto's backyard.
He waved back and put on an awkward smile.
She was walking towards him slowly. He noticed the slightly exaggerated sway in her hips and felt himself steadily losing breath. He kept his beer bottle on the table beside him and put his hands in his pockets as he waited for her to reach him.
”Hello, Temari. Wasn't expecting to see you here."
"Oh..? Why not?"
"I don't know. I thought only Kankuro would be here for the Matsuri," he inhaled the smoke from his cigarette deeply before tapping it.
"Well, I am here. And you'll show me around, yes?"
He stayed silent for a moment too long and his eyes pierced into hers. He finally broke her gaze and moved his head to the side to blow out the smoke.
"If I'm free, I'll grab ya."
"What do you mean if you're free? Is that how you treat your guests, Shikamaru-kun?" Temari tugged at his t-shirt and teased slightly, pouting at him, never leaving his gaze. She loved to see Shikamaru get awkward around her. The green of her eyes had him weak in his knees again.
Shikamaru looked down at his t-shirt bunched up in her delicate hands. She was mindlessly moving her thumb in circles against his chest. He felt a flash of an indescribable feeling and something inside him broke loose.
He held her arm and pulled her dangerously close. Temari's eyes widened and she let out an audible gasp.
"I know how to treat a guest like you very well, Temari," he spoke in a low, hoarse voice, his lips barely inches away from hers.
"I... I ...Shikamaru... What..what are you doing Everyone... someone could be watching. What would they think?"
"Hmm ..what would they think, Temari?" Shikamaru spoke in a tone so cold that Temari felt a shiver go down her spine.
"Let me go, you idiot."
He gripped her arm harder, grit his teeth, and shoved his thigh between her legs. She let out a soft moan and he felt her back arch ever so slightly.
"Shik.." He suddenly let her go, leaving her too flustered to collect herself. He picked up his beer and grabbed another another one before walking towards everyone else.
"What's up, Kankuro?" he said loudly.
"Same old, genius," Kankuro patted him on the back as he took the beer bottle from him.
When Shikamaru reached the others gathered around the table, he noticed that Temari was still standing at the bar. Her hands were balled into tight fists, and from the rise and dip of her shoulders he could tell she was breathing deeply. He looked away and stopped paying attention to her for fear that he'll start coming to terms with what he had just done. And, he wasn't looking forward to that.
Shikamaru avoided Temari throughout the brunch but always caught her stealing glances at him. He could see the smirk on her face everytime she got a chance to be near him. He was losing his patience with the woman. She was deliberately brushing her hands against his. She was finding ways of leaning over him to grab food or drinks, brushing her hair against his face. Everytime she got up from the table they were all huddled around, playing poker, she made sure she lightly brushed his groin with her ass. Getting through the brunch proved to be frustrating at worst and left him breathless at best.
Everyone started leaving slowly, like people often do. They said their goodbyes and hugged and promised to do this again sometime soon. When Temari and her brothers left, Shikamaru let out a sigh of relief. Everyone had left except him and Sasuke.
"I see something's brewing in your pants, ahem, I mean your brain, you bastard," Naruto joked out loud.
"Hai hai, she's going to be the death of me." Shikamaru leaned his head back on the chair. His eyes followed a lone cloud.
"Well, then, you shouldn't have given her a taste of you like that at the bar, ya know?" Sasuke smirked.
"I'm sick of your eyes seeing everything everywhere. Mendukse ne. Tsk." Shikamaru let out a puff of smoke.
"Don't worry, no one noticed you both doing whatever the fuck you were doing throughout. They were all drunk, anyway."
"Yeah, not worried. Alright, gotta do some stuff before the matsuri starts, boys. Jaana!"
Shikamaru walked out of Naruto’s and clutched the green clip he'd bought for Temari long back. He carried it everywhere in order to be prepared to give it to her should the occasion arise. Perhaps it was his way of having a little control over this situation. He started to make his way to his home but thought better of it and walked towards the inn he knew Temari was staying at. She always stayed there because of how pretty and secluded it was. It gave her a chance to be away from her two brothers.
When he reached, he paced back and forth. His nerves were catching up to him.
"What if she gets angry? What if she never talks to me again?" His mind was over-flowing with questions he had no answers to. Questions he didn’t want answers to.
He got tired of thinking through the details and just went ahead, fully aware that his actions didn't align with the kind of man he was. But, over the years he'd realised that this was one matter he couldn't rationalise. He couldn't plan or predict this. He couldn't fit it into a strategy or logic. All he knew for certain was that he came undone everytime Temari so much as looked at him. He found himself perched on the balcony of her room.
She was going for a bath. Once she entered the bath, Shikamaru jumped inside the room and made himself comfortable as he leaned against the shelf on the wall infront of the washroom. He blended in with the room, completely still and quiet, as he waited for Temari to come out. He just wanted to talk. Just wanted to see her again. Be near her, again.
He waited for about 20 minutes, his mind a wilderness amd tangle of multiple ways he would explain what he was doing in her room, before she stepped out. When she did, she was naked and drenched in water, a scenario he hadn’t thought through. The water droplets made her body glitter in the soft early-evening sunlight. Shikamaru involuntarily gasped and bit his lip. Despite himself, he scanned her top to bottom as she mumbled something to herself. She looked absolutely stunning. He wanted nothing more than to love her with his entire being. Something tugged hard at his insides, he felt a drunkenness swallow him whole.
"Ugh, I don't know why I always forget to take my towel in the bath, it's so cold, fuck" mumbled Temari to herself as she looked around for the towel. She had goosebumps all over her body from the cool air. She was running late for the Matsuri, too. Her yukata was not ironed yet. Her phone kept buzzing and all of it was driving her up the wall. To top it all, she couldn't stop thinking about how Shikamaru had shoved his thigh between her legs earlier. How less it had taken for her to just yield. In the chaos, she completely missed Shikamaru, comfortable beside the shelf, quietly admiring her.
She bent down to pick up the towel on wooden stool right next to the washroom door. "I can't believe the towel was here all along, tsk. Where is my mind today?"
As she started getting up, she found herself unable to move. Terror painted her face. Back muscle? Slipped disc? A hundred explanations ran through her head before something made her unclench her hand around the towel, making it fall on the floor. A force made her sit still on the stool. It made her spread her legs and move her hands to her nipples, pulling them, all against her will. She gasped at her own touch, bewildered. She struggled to break out of whatever the fuck was happening but her limbs wouldn't listen to her.
Shikamaru quitely walked towards her and stroked her face gently. He bent down, his lips just a hair's length from Temari's ears.
"Kaagemane no jutsu, sekko," whispered Shikamaru hoarsely.
"Sh..shikamaru..wha...what's the meaning of..." she felt a darkness shove itself down her throat. Shikamaru had used his shadows to bind her throat as well as stop her from speaking.
"You're going to sit tight and do exactly what I want you to." He knew Temari was utterly baffled and terrified. Her face made it very clear.
"I won't take you to the matsuri otherwise, Temari," smirked Shikamaru.
He could feel the heat from her body. He moved back, his eyes tracing each and every part of it.
"You're gorgeous, you know?" he said as he settled in a chair in front of her. Shikamaru noticed that Temari's soft breasts perked up involuntarily at his words. He spread his legs to mirror her. He wanted to appear collected and he lit a cigarette to calm himself down. His insides felt gooey. He slowly pulled out the shadow from her mouth so she could breathe.
"Feel better?"
Temari gagged and panted and slowly nodded, her chin was covered with her own drool. She looked like a dream, she looked absolutely unreal to Shikamaru. His hands itched, his breath faltered, and he could feel the hair on his neck stand up.
Too embarrassed and shocked and scared and aroused all at once, Temari looked away from Shikamaru's piercing eyes.
"Shi...Shikamaru..ple..please. What do you think you're doing? This is..." she spoke in a strong voice but Shikamaru could hear the slight tremble.
He lost his patience and cut her off meanly.
"What do you think you were doing at the brunch? Strutting around all pretty for me like that. Hmm?"
"For you?" Temari mustered the courage to bite back, her eyebrows rose.
Temari felt a deep blush rising in her cheeks when Shikamaru didn't move or say anything. He usually couldn't bear to look at her in the eyes for more than half a minute. But today, his gaze was unwavering.
After a momemt, Shikamaru took a deep breath and spoke in a low voice, a baritone she'd never heard escape his soft lips.
"You think I'm blind? You think I wouldn't notice, hmm? All that unintentional brushing against me? All that pouting and tugging at my t-shirt? Your ass grinding my cock everytime we squeezed through that corridoor? Your tits in my fucking face infront of everyone?"
He tried to calm himself down. He was aware he was going a bit too far.
"The way you leaned into me when I grabbed your arm? The way your nipples hardened underneath your thin dress? Your little moan, the subtle arch in your back when I shoved my thigh between your legs? The way your lips parted? The way your wet tongue almost darted out?"
Temari's cheeks were a burning red now. So, clearly, he had noticed. She was never sure with him. She knew he was perceptive but she'd been hinting since years now, and he had never ever made a move. Even though she'd caught a kind of hunger in his face a million times, she always thought she was making it up in her own head. Of course, she'd never been this explicit with her hints, but she only got the courage because of the way Shikamaru had handled her at the bar. A little teasing as revenge for getting a woman like her so flustered wouldn't hurt, she'd thought.
But, she also hadn't expected this kind of a reaction from Shikamaru. She really thought he would just be his usual awkward self. Shikamaru taking charge of the situation woke in her something that she didn’t understand . She was steadily growing moist under his watch, her thighs were slippery, and she was throbbing for his touch.
Was he doing this just to get back at her for all of her friendly flirting? Or was there something else she was missing? Had she really fallen for someone she didn't know at all?
She felt her head snap in Shikamaru's direction.
"Look at me," he grit his teeth.
She felt her left hand moving to her growing wetness and her right tugging at her own nipple. Shikamaru's small smile told her he was helplessly enjoying himself. She gasped and moaned uncontrollably as he made her rub her clit against her will.
"That's it, love, let me watch you rub yourself," he bit his lip. His eyes were filled with the same hunger she'd witnessed so many times before. So it was real. It had always been real. He sucked in a breath through his teeth.
It took Shikamaru every ounce of strength and control to keep himself from just taking her right there and then. He was suppressing years of pent up frustration and desire. He was very hot and very bothered and his joggers were getting way too tight for him.
His jutsu made Temari touch herself exactly like how he'd imagined so many times before. He made her rub herself agonizingly slow, pinch her nipples hard, and then suddenly made her right hand drop to her throbbing cunt, too. He made her decrease the pressure on her clit and shove two fingers inside of herself.
Her moans filled the room and Shikamaru felt his face burn. She looked like a goddess. He wanted, so badly, to get on his knees and just lick her, feel the warmth of her thighs around his face, feel her gushing in his mouth. He wanted nothing but to love this woman with the entirety of his being. He ran his hands through his hair to focus himself and catch his breath.
Her eyes, a mixture of anger and love and arousal, hadn’t left his since he’d made her snap her head in his direction. He loved that she was standing up to him in her own way. His eyes hadn't left her body, her face, her fingers working in and around her cunt. His mouth watered and cock twitched at the sloppy noises her fingers and wetness made.
She begged for release. It took her a while but her arousal made her shed all fear or embarrassment. She'd found the comfort his presence always gave her, the usual sense of security she felt around him was back. His greed and hunger for her was painted on his face, clear as day.
"Fas...faster, ple...please Shika..I can't.." she breathed helplessly, her sentence punctuated by moans.
"Time for another finger, love," Shikamaru sucked in his lower lip as her finger moved at his will.
Temari felt a heat bloom in her core and her legs shivered from the intensity of it all.
As he made her fuck herself with three fingers, she suddenly felt her left hand move away from her clit and then come down crashing. She realised Shikamaru was making her slap her clit, not once, not twice, but repeatedly and in quick successions. She moaned out his name out of habit.
"Fuck, look at you moaning my name, you look so beautiful, Temari. My name on your lips like that, it's making me harder." He teased her in a silky voice.
Temari had lost all control by now. She was writhing as much as Shikamaru allowed her to, the stool under her was about give away, and her wrists ached from all the work Shikamaru was making her do.
"Shika...Shikamaru, I'm gonna.. I'm gonna..."
She suddenly felt her hands move away from her swollen cunt. She clenched around emptiness and throbbed for him, realising that he'd denied her any kind of release.
"Shikamaru, please, please... please..." she panted, sweaty and messy.
"Please what?"
"Pl...please let me..," she gulped. She was so embarrassed she was saying this out loud. Infront of him.
"Let you what?"
"Please, let me cum," she mumbled.
"Yeah? Look at the mess you've made, love. Do you want me to help you clean up?" His shadow made her head bend down to look at the pool she'd given birth to. Temari nodded lightly and that's all it took for Shikamaru to get on his knees and bring his mouth to her soft cunt. He kept her bound by his shadows so she couldn't move. He rested his calloused hands on her inner thighs and gave her a long lick all the way from her moist and throbbing opening to her cute little button of a clit. The voice that escaped her throat gave Shikamaru goosebumps.
"I love you," moaned Temari in a whisper.
Shikamaru's ears were now warm and beet red, his face buried harder between her thighs and his fingers dug into her skin. He loved her. God, he loved her so much. He loved every little thing she did, every noise that escaped her lips. Every time her body jerked from his touch, it sent his mind in a frenzy.
The cold metal of his earrings against her inner thighs made her shiver. His sharp hair tickled her. She moaned out his name again as he moved his tongue in and out of her quickly. He felt her clench around his tongue. He brought his thumb to her clit and rubbed it in quick and dirty circles, the metal of his rings cool and electrifying. He looked up at her face with the same hunger in his eyes that always made Temari skip a beat.
"Say, how many times have you moaned out my name like this, Temari?" he whispered and went back to giving her soft, gentle licks.
Temari blushed a beautiful pink again and bit her lip. She found it extremely hard to form a coherent sentence, the way his mouth and hands were handling her was perfect.
"I..I've ...I've lost...co..unfff..count."
He smiled against her skin and showered her wetness with kisses and nibbles. He inserted a finger as he lapped up her clit and felt her clench again, this time around his finger. He curled his finger and Temari let out a small whimper. He moved his finger in and out and slowly inserted a second and third one till she was panting, his thin and long tongue never ceasing to flutter around her clit.
"Shika...Shika I'm gonna..I'm gonna cum. Do...don't stop"
At this, Shikamaru ceased all movement. It took him immense control to leave her wanting like that, again. But, it had to be done. He didn’t understand why but he wanted her to beg, not hint anymore. He'd had enough of her innocent flirting and teasing and it was his turn to have her writhing before him.
"Are...are you serious!?" shouted Temari.
A loud gutteral sound escaped Temari's lips. She'd been edged twice in the last half an hour and she hated it. She hated that Shikamaru won't let her cum. But it felt so good. The way he looked at her, talked to her, touched her, it was all unbearable.
Shikamaru lightly traced her lips with his fingers and then shoved them in her mouth. She licked herself off his fingers hungrily and Shikamaru's cock rose, eliciting a small playful chuckle from Temari. He smiled back at her. His lips and chin glistened with Temari's slick. He licked it clean and then walked back to the chair. She throbbed for release but she could see Shikamaru had other plans.
Without further delay, Shikamaru picked up her towel and dried her hair as she sat still, bound by his jutsu. He dressed her up in her dark blue Yukata.
"Shikmaru, please, I won't be able to bear it," Temari said as Shikamaru tied her obi.
"Bear what?" he cooed in her ear and cocked his head innocently.
"You're a fucking bastard. How are you planning to do my hair? Obviously I can't step out like this." Temari fumed.
Shikamaru moved behind her as his shadows made her sit in front of the mirror. Her entire body ached from being controlled like a puppet for so long. She felt Shikamaru's fingers comb through her hair and her eyes closed.
When she opened her eyes finally, she gasped in surprise at how beautiful she looked. Shikamaru had perfectly done up her hair.
She also noticed a green clip he'd slid in one of her pony tails. It was a delicate branch of leaves, studded with small embralds. She was standing in front of him now, her body pressed against his.
"Where and when did you learn to do a girl's hair?"
"Oh, I have a few daughters spread around town. Why? Jealous?" mocked Shikamaru.
Temari glared at him.
"The clip is beautiful. Thank you."
"It suits you. Brings out your eyes." He murmured, unable to stop himself from kissing her jaw. He mentally kicked himself for saying something so cheesy instead of a simple welcome.
"Let's go, I've to show you around the Hanabi Matsuri, no?"
"B..but, Shikamaru?"
"Hmm?" he asked as he trailed his fingers along her long neck.
"My..my panties...?" Temari was blushing so hard that Shikamaru couldn't help but raise his eyebrows. He loved being cocky with her.
"No panties today," he whispered and spanked her ass loudly, making her jump as much as she could while being bound with his jutsu.
Only when they reached the Matsuri did Shikamaru free her of his jutsu. Finally free of him, she could do whatever she wanted to. She wanted him right then and there. But, there were so many people around, it was as good as being tied up.
"I'll be right behind you, Temari," whispered Shikamaru as he lightly squeezed her ass in the crowd. She could feel her thighs slipping against each other as she walked uncomfortably. She was still a slobbering mess and all of this teasing wasn't helping. Shikamaru was his usual self, not a hint of discomfort in his voice.
They went from stall to stall, eating and chatting, meeting up with everyone when Shikamaru caught her looking intently at a pair of kunai. She was caressing the blades and the handle, appreciating the craft.
"I can carve your name on it, too!" said the seller.
"Oh really? That's amazing!"
"What are you looking at?" Shikamaru leaned on the table full of decorative kunai as he popped a handful of peanuts in his mouth.
"Nothing, I really love this pair. It would look spectacular in my collection. I have a decorative pair from wherever I've been. Don't have one from Konoha for some reason."
"Hmm." He frowned. After a pause he said, a bit unsure, "Will you let me get these for you?"
"What? Why? No! I can get them. It's cool."
He took her hands in his and kissed her fingers.
"Yeah, I know. But I want to get these for you."
"I really couldn't. You got me the clip, too!"
"Who said the clip is yours?"
"Uhh... why'd you put it in my hair then?" embarrassed at the assumptions she'd made.
Shikamaru burst out laughing.
"I'm messing with you. I got the clip for you long back. Just...never got a chance to give it to you." A sad smile lingered on his face for a fraction of a seocnd. Temari blushed and looked away from his piercing gaze. What the hell was it with his eyes today. They just wouldn’t let her go.
"Please, let me get the kunai for you. It would mean so much to me." Shikamaru murmured softly against her hands.
"Hmm. Alright, I guess you owe me that much," she winked and gave him a shy smile.
Shikamaru's face lit up and he smiled so brightly that Temari wanted nothing more than to smother him with kissEd. He looked like a child who had just been given a box full of candies.
"I ..want to get today's date carved on it too."
"Yeah? Why?"
"I'd like to remember today."
"Why?" a shy smile spread across Shikamaru's face.
"Stop it."
"Here you go, love." He handed her the bag.
As Temari peeked into the packet, she heard Ino, Sakura, and Hinata coming over to them. When Naruto pulled Shikamaru aside to check out another stall, Ino pounced on the chance.
"How's it going, Temari?" asked Ino.
"Great! I'm just exploring. A little tired, really."
"Hmmmmm. Tired from the journey or....?" Ino teased knowingly and Sakura and Hinata laughed.
"What..what do you mean?" Temari asked, wide-eyed.
"Oh come on! We all know what you've been up to," said Sakura and winked at her.
"I have no idea what you girls are talking about."
"Temari, the three of us had come to pick you up at the inn because you weren't picking up your phone," Hinata jumped in, failing to keep a straight face. Temari's face went pale and she looked the other way.
"We could hear some very interesting noises so we thought we'll leave you be," Sakura giggled.
"Hey, it's alright. This'll stay between us. We're just messing with you." reassured Ino.
"We're happy for you Temari. This was long due. We've been rooting for you both." chimed in Hinata.
"Girls, he's killing me," Temari finally broke down.
"Well, you've been toying with him since years. Let him have some fun."
"I haven't been toying with him. I love him. He's just dense."
"He's anything but dense," Hinata cut Temari off and all three girls looked at her, surprised. "He's..he's not dense. Just really considerate."
"Sooooo, Te-ma-ri chan, is he any good in bed?" snickered Sakura to break the awkward silence.
"We...we haven't...we haven't really done anything yet," stuttered Temari.
"What? What was all that screaming and moaning out his name for?" probed Sakura. The girls couldn't stop giggling.
"Well...we..uh...he just..."
"What are you all gossiping about? Ino, 20 bucks if I win the shooting game." challenged Sai. He was walking over to the girls with Shikamaru, Sasuke, and Naruto.
"Ohhh? Let's see who wins then." Both of them walked to the shooting stall hand in hand. Sasuke noticed Temari blushing and he glanced at Shikamaru, amused.
"Do y'all wanna have Ramen?" asked Naruto. "Sure, let's go!" "Let's wait for Ino and Sai."
Ino returned victorious, mocking Sai. The 4 couples walked towards the ramen stall, bantering and mocking each other about something or the other. The crowd was thinning steadily, the after-hours of the festival full of laughter and chatter. Temari felt Shikamaru's hand snake around her waist.
"I can't wait to take this Yukata off off you, Temari," Shikamaru whispered. They'd fallen a few steps behind.
"You look so beautiful. I bet you're still wet from earlier." He spoke in a silky voice against the sweaty skin of her neck and softly bit her ear. His hand cupped her heat and Temari slapped his hand away, making him chuckle.
Temari stayed absolutely still. When she didn't say anything, Shikamaru frowned.
"What's... what's wrong?" Shikamaru asked, concerned. Back in his senses now, he faltered and blushed at what he'd just said and done.
Temari spoke hurriedly like a quick rainstorm, "Please, can we go back to the inn? Make me yours already. I've been yearning for you since so long. And now I know you have been, too. It's plain as day that we both want eachother, why won't you just take me back? Why subject me to all this waiting? Haven't we waited for so long already? It doesn't make any sense."
Shikamaru felt his knees giving away but he steadied himself and softened his tone. He turned her around and pecked her jaw and the insides of her wrists. Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, he said, "Just a little bit longer, love. Let's eat with the gang first. I promise I'll make you feel so good once we get home, princess." "Shikamaru, everyone...everyone knows about us..." "So?" "So? You're okay with that?" "Why wouldn't I be? I would like to make it very clear that you're mine." "Oh..."
"Oi, you two lovebirds. Get here quick. We'll lose our spot otherwise," shouted Naruto.
Shikamru grabbed her hand and walked towards the restaurant. They all settled in on the low outdoor benches and Shikamaru made Temari sit on his thigh, his left hand wrapped around her waist. Temari felt awkward at first but she leaned into him when she saw so many couples around her.
Even Hinata, the shyest of them all, was sitting in Naruto's lap, wrapped around him like a child. She blushed when she noticed Naruto's hand stroking Hinata's waist softly. She caught him whispering sweet nothings in Hinata's ears as Hinata smiled shyly. Sakura, too, was sitting between Sasuke's legs. Sasuke was putting a flower in her hair as he spoke about some mission with all of them. Ino's legs were in Sai's lap as he drew mindless circles on her thighs with his fingers.
The atmosphere was so drunken and happy and full of love that she couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. There were fairy-lights everywhere and red lanterns swayed back and forth in the gentle wind. Flower petals and leaves blew around them. The laughter and cling and clatter of the utensils made her feel alive.
When they had ordered and were mid-conversation, Temari suddenly pecked Shikamaru on his cheek, stopping him mid-sentence. He raised his eyebrows and pecked her nose and continued talking about how he beat Asuma in a training session and everyone listened to him intently. She noticed that his hands never left her. She eased in completely, never having known such familiarity in an unfamiliar place. The sake was rich, the ramen was perfect, and the company was warm.
Late at night when all of them were buzzed and tired, they said their goodbyes. The three girls winked at Temari as she felt Shikamaru squeeze her ass for the tenth time that night. //
"I can't wait for the saucy details. I'm not letting Temari go without telling us everything." Sakura spoke hurriedly to Ino and Hinata.
"Temari is the one I was talking about earlier today, Sakura! I didn't think things would happen so fast! Did you see him, he didn't let her out of his sight or hands for a single second," Ino giggled.
"He's addicted! But, you both should just leave them be now. Don't go around spying on them!" Hinata laughed and blushed at the same time.
"Oh, he's more than addicted, I'm sure of it," said Ino.
"Hina, let's go babygirl," Naruto called out in a hoarse voice. Hinata blushed a deep red, knowing the girls will tease her about her nick-name forever now.
"Haha! Go on babygirl! See you tomorrow!" Ino and Sakura teased her. The girls giggled and hugged before leaving.
//
Temari and Shikamaru walked towards nowhere in particular.
"So, your place or mine?" asked Shikamaru. He chuckled as he stroked her face. He wanted to kiss her lips so much.
"How about yours?" Temari was finally in her element and she fingered is t-shirt like she had at the brunch. She looked at him with her deep green eyes and Shikamaru felt himself losing control.
"God, I want you so bad, Temari. Tsk. You've no idea." He held her hands and kissed her fingers.
They walked quietly, enjoying the cool breeze.
"Shikamaru, why haven't you ever made a move? I don't think that you've only just realised how I feel about you."
Shikamaru took a deep breath but stayed quiet.
"Well?"
He stopped and shoved his hands in his pockets.
"Temari, I am only going to say this once... All these years, I was scared that you were just playing with me. You've had several boyfriends, too. I've literally given you advice on how to make up with them. And so I never knew what to make of all your teasing and flirting. I didn't think you felt for me the way I do for you... In fact, I don't think you can ever feel for me the way I feel for you."
He paused.
"The last mission took a lot away from me, Temari. When I saw you today, toying with me again like that, something snapped in me. I acted on an impulse that I usually keep under control. But, seeing you react the way you did to me today told me more than enough." He gave her a small smile. Temari stood still, her face betrayed nothing.
"Let's go," whispered Shikamaru. "Hmm."
When they reached Shikamaru's flat, Temari spent a minute looking around. Everything was immaculate and in place. She was admiring all the photos on the wall when she felt Shikamaru quickly untie her obi. Her breath hitched in her throat and she softly moaned out his name.
"Hmm?"
"I wasn't toying with you. I never have."
"Yeah?"
"Hmm."
He had her naked and pressed against his body in a matter of seconds. He began to untie her hair but Temari stopped him. "Leave the clip be."
He bit the insides of his cheek to keep himself from smiling like an idiot. His hands roamed around her body hungrily. He kissed and nibbled at her neck and shoulders and she kept her hands on his as he trailed them all over her breasts and stomach, halting at her inner thighs. She moved her hips slowly against him.
He drew light circles around her left nipple and greedily squeezed her right thigh. Temari gasped at the pressure and Shikamaru turned her around. He held her face tenderly, pulled her close, and finally kissed her lips. He came alive under her touch. The greed with which Temari sucked on his lips made him shiver and lose breath. He smiled against her flesh and walked her towards the sofa in his living room, kissing her all the while. He made her sit down, lightly held her chin, and made her look up at him.
"Spread your legs, Temari," his voice hoarse from desire.
He held the backrest of the sofa with his left hand, dug his right knee on the sofa, and bent over her. Temari wrapped her hand around his left hand, and her other stroked his hair. He lightly touched her moist folds with two fingers and let out a small grunt at how wet she was. He lazily rubbed her clit, his eyes never leaving hers. He took in her supple body full of scars from missions. The way she, finally, fully arched her back at his touch, offering herself to him. The way her naked nipples hardened against his moist tongue. The way goosebumps decorated her entire body. Her reaction to his touch sent his mind in a chaos. What happened in the afternoon was nothing compared to how she blossomed under him now.
As soon as she tugged at his t-shirt, he removed his clothes, just his black briefs on him. Temari took him in, he looked like a sculpture. He appeared so lean clothed but his arms were huge and his chest was stunning. The light hair sprinkled all over softened his hard chest and chiselled face. Temari couldn't take her eyes off his torso, she was practically drooling. Shikamaru felt his face heating up at her gaze. He'd never been looked at like that.
"Like what you see, princess?" he spoke when he recovered from all her oggling.
"Hmm," she smiled coyly and bit her lips.
She saw his briefs stretching, the bulge too prominent to miss. She moved her face towards his clothed cock and licked the tip eliciting a groan from him. She moved her face to the side of his waist and tongued the waistband of his briefs. She took the waistband in between her teeth and pulled his briefs down. His cock slapped his stomach as it broke free from being constrained for so long. Shikamaru stayed absolutely still, breathing heavily, his eyes never leaving hers.
Temari gave his cock a slow, wet lick from the base to the tip and he twitched, lightly slapping her cheek. She showered it with moist kisses and fluttered her tongue around his pale pink and warm head.
"Fuck..." Shikamaru suddenly grabbed Temari and flipped her around.
"On your knees, ma'am."
Before Temari could even settle in, she felt his cock rubbing against at her clit. She looked back at him as she moved with him.
"So eager, Shika..ahh fuck,"
Shikamaru thrust three fingers inside her before she could complete her sentence, taking her by surprise. His other hand bunched up her hair. He moved his fingers hard and fast. He noticed Temari's toes curling and her head digging into the backrest. He leaned over her and kissed her back and neck before he spoke.
"You're doing so well baby, let me feel you cumming around my fingers," he spoke in a soft voice.
"I...I'm gonna...cum."
Shikamaru felt his heart beating like a hummingbird as he felt Temari clench around his fingers and he felt a warmth coating his hands and his cock. She whimpered quietly, her voice lost from the powerful orgasm, at finding the release she had been denied all day. Shikamaru pulled out his fingers, positioned his cock at her cunt, and dug his hands in her waist as he slowly began to enter her.
"Shika..Shikmaru, plea.. I can't.." Temari panted, still recovering from her orgasm.
"Shhh, you're taking me so well baby, just a little bit more." He slowed down even more, giving her time to adjust. Her thighs shivered as she eased around him and took him in.
"You're easing around me just fine, princess. I promise I'm gonna be slow." murmured Shikamaru against her flesh.
He slowly started moving and increased his pace, and Temari's moans got louder with each thrust, till she was screaming out his name, till she was babbling nonsense. His hands travelled everywhere across her body hungrily. Shikamaru's face burned, his heart fluttered, and he felt like a million little butterflies had just taken birth in his belly. He never wanted to hear anything else from Temari except whatever escaped her petal-like lips as he fucked her. She held his hand tight.
"Fuck..ahh" He loved the way she cussed in a small voice before he felt her gushing around him again; the profanity morphed into something lovely coming from her wet mouth. He felt himself buckling as he thrust himself inside her hard and pulled out, eliciting an ungodly voice from Temari.
He flipped her around again, and positioned himself between her legs. He entered her again, slowly, and cupped her right breast with his hand and took her left nipple in his mouth. A sigh of relief left Temari's lips as she stroked his hair.
He moved in and out of her gently and his lips made their way up to her neck, nibibling and kissing her chest and shoulders and arms till he buried his face in her neck, settling in.
Temari's hands roamed all over his body and finally came to rest on his shoulders, her legs were hitched around his waist. She could see his back and hips flex with each thrust. It made her clench harder around him and arch her back into him. They moved together, taking each other in as much as they could, Shikamaru nibbled and sucked on her neck and she circled her tongue around his earrings.
He panted and her broken sighs followed with every thrust. They were lost in the way they both came undone with each other, the messy, sloppy sound of his cock moving in and out of her the only thing that pulled them back to reality.
"Shikamaru, I'm gonna.. gonna...unfff."
He could feel her tightening around him like never before before she suddenly loosened up. She came around his cock, growing so wet that he slipped out of her. He pushed himself back inside her, making her bite his neck, and started fucking her relentlessly. Overstimulated, Temari suddenly shivered violently and squirted.
"That's it, love. Such a good girl."
He didn't break his pace and Temari's nails dug into his back, scratching him everywhere. Shikamaru grit his teeth so he wouldn't make a sound as she used his body to calm down. After what seemed like like a blissful eternity of short and quick thrusts, Shikamaru pulled out again and sat up on the sofa, his legs spread open. He kissed the entirety of her legs, waiting for her to recover from her orgasm. When he saw she'd calmed down, he held Temari's waist and brought her on top of him.
"I want to watch you," he murmured against her breasts. The intensity with which he looked at her made Temari uncontrollably shy and she felt a raw heat taking flight in her belly and face.
"Haven't you watched me enough already?" she panted, still out of breath, hinting at what he'd done to her after brunch.
"It's never going to be enough."
She breathed heavily on his skin as she felt his cock twitching against her clit. She involuntarily moved against his hardness, making him grunt.
Shikamaru traced her outline and took her breasts in his mouth, sucking and nibbling at them, as she moved slowly. She took his cock in her hand and positioned it, and then sat on him in one go, making Shikamaru throw his head back and dig his fingers in her hips.
"fuck."
He recovered and watched her slowly grind against him and sucked a breath in through his gritted teeth.
"Fuck, Temari, you're dri... what the hell?" his head suddenly snapped at the windows. He looked pissed, his eyebrows suddenly sharper. Confused, Temari looked at the windows as well.
Shikamaru drew the curtains shut with his shadows. They heard giggles and quick footsteps outside until everything went quiet.
"I bet it's Sakura and Ino," giggled Temari.
He felt her tighten around him.
"Oh, you like that, huh? Being watched like that?"
"N..no! They've been after my life for ‘details’."
"Would you like to put a show on for the girls?" he asked in a small whisper. He felt her clench around him again. He twitched inside her, at the thought of everyone watching him make her his. "I think it's you who'd like to put on a show, no?" challenged Temari.
Shikamaru blushed and then came alive with a child-like laughter. He held her head and brought it to his neck. He kissed her head and then without a warning, he started fucking her hard, and faster, than before. She bit down on his neck, marking him pink and purple, as he fucked her till she lost her voice and came around him in quick successions again. Spent and tired, she clung to him like a child. Shikamaru got up and carried her upstairs to the bedroom, all the while throbbing inside her.
He laid her down on his bed and spooned her. Shikamaru was hard as a rock and ready to go but he knew Temari was too spent. He gave her small nibbles and bites as he traced her body with his hands, fingering all her scars.
"You never said anything, you know?
"What do you mean?"
"When I said I love you."
"Hmm. Should I have said something?"
"Yes," she replied curtly.
"Yeah? Like what?"
"I don't know. Anything."
"Let me say it to you in my way?" he murmured.
"And what way is that?" she turned her head to look at him, frowning.
He made her lick his hands and stroked his cock, wetting it before he entered her ever so slowly. He lifted her leg and hooked it on his arm as they both looked deep into each other's eyes. Both of them gasped as his balls kissed her clit. Temari felt fuller than before and Shikamaru's face felt hot.
"Rub yourself," Shikamaru whispered.
Temari immediately complied and he felt her ass digging into his belly. He moved inside of her in slow and hard thrusts for a while before Temari felt his pace faltering. He looked at her and raised his eyebrows in question. She bit her lip and nodded quickly.
Temari came around him again. She couldn't bear how intimate it all was. The moment she tightened around him, he grunted, hid his face in her hair, and came inside of her, his warmth spreading everywhere inside her.
They both passed out before Shikamaru had a chance to slip out of her.
Right before sunrise, Shikmaru woke up, his limp cock still buried in Temari. He pulled out slowly and Temari stirred. He covered her up with a blanket and went to the washroom to freshen up. Itching for a cigarette, he went downstairs to his balcony. He lightly pinched himself to check if he was in a dream. Then he muttered at his own stupidity. When he made his way upstairs, she was snoring lightly. He sat beside her. After an hour or so of just observing her, he felt himself getting hard. He leaned his head back on the headrest. "Mendukse onna," he muttered under his breath, genuinely tired of his own arousal for her.
He slowly moved between her legs and started to lightly nibble at her clit. He placed small kisses on her mound. When he couldn't control himself, he dove in, lapping up her pussy messily. She sighed and moaned deeply as she rose from her deep sleep. She jerked and came quickly on his tongue.
"Morning, baby," Shikamaru murmured against her spasming thighs. "Morning," Temari whispered, slightly out of breath.
He quickly came up to spoon her again and showered her neck with kisses, making her laugh. That same laugh that had made him realise he'd fallen in love with her. That same laugh that had made him realise that he didn't only appreciate her as a friend, didn't only have immense respect for her, didn't only have this need to be a better person for her, but also wanted her to be entirely his. He kissed her lips deeply, his heart beating so loudly he thought he would faint. They lay there, kissing each other for a long time.
"Shikamaru, I want...I want a life with you." "Me too, baby," he whispered against her back. "I want...I want a nice house with you, I want to take care of you, I want to go on missions with you." He stilled. After a brief pause, she mustered the courage to say something she'd only ever dreamed of. "I want... I want a child with you." His eyes widened. It took him a moment to recover but to Temari's surprise he took it quite well. "Yeah? Only if it'll have your eyes." "And your hair," she said way too quick. "But, only after some time. I want to spend time with you first. I want your undivided attention for a while."
He turned her around and kissed her deep again. He then held her waist and made her sit on his face. Temari gasped.
"I can't get enough of you Temari. Stay for a while. Please don't go back just yet." He spoke against her thighs. He lazily licked her swollen clit, taking his sweet time. She rode his face slow and then gradually increased her pace to match the messy and quick way his tongue loved her. She moaned his name hoarsely as she gushed around his mouth again. She felt him smiling against her throbbing wetness.
She moved to sit down on his groin, rubbing his cock against her wetness. Shikamaru folded his hands behind his head as he watched her sleepily. As she took him inside her, he squeezed his eyes shut and bit his lip. She slowly moved on top of him, her breasts hovered over his chest and face.
"Cum for me, Shikamaru," she whispered as she increased her pace. She felt his balls harden and scrunch up against her ass and he shivered and moaned out her name. He thrusted her hard thrice and Temari felt him cumming inside her again. She lied down on top of him and he stroked her hair, her clip shone bright in the soft morning sunlight.
He kissed her forehead. "I love you."

Afterthoughts
I think the whole idea of Ino and Sakura being so nosy really fits in well with the whole dynamic. I really enjoyed crafting the dialogue. I think the slightly voyeuristic undertone to this piece has really been derived from Ino and Choji spying on ShikaTema in the anime. A lot of fanart also has Ino and Choji in the background. And so, it isn’t really kinky or dirty sex here, but more about bringing out that old-school friendship that Shikamaru shares with Ino and others.
I have deliberately removed Choji from this piece. I don’t know but I dont think I can ever write Choji well. I also feel that Shikamaru would actually share girl problems with Ino or Naruto. But for all other life stuff, he would actually talk to Choji. I also really enjoyed writing the internal struggle that Shikamaru faced. The hair clip was really only put in the story to bring out his need to plan and prepare for something that he knows is totally out of his control.
I found it tough to write Temari’s strong character at first (specially in the scene where she’s kinda tied up) but I realised that she doesn’t have to be strong with and around Shikamaru. That’s largely what draws me to them. The whole idea of both of these calm and strong characters going batshit crazy for each other is really an HC for me, haha. Both of them are so secure in and sure of each other’s strength - they really don’t have to put up a facade.
The scene where Shikamaru buys the Kunai for Temari is really a manifestation of his respectful love™ for Temari. He wants to buy her the world but he also understands that she’s fully capable of doing that herself. He understands that she has a strong sense of ‘I can get stuff done on my own’ and doesn’t want to step on it. He merely wants to feel included in her life. He wants to get her things that will remind her of him when he’s away. He wants to be in every corner of her life, as he wants her to be in every corner of his life. Idk if I am articulating this well but this is a dynamic I really fkn DIG.

Prompt: Genin!Sakura meets her future self, a hardened warrior who has lost everything —from her teammates to the world itself—. She has come to warn her younger version about the consequences of being negligent. Unbeknownst to them, this short meeting will end up being the turning points towards another future; a future where the world is safe and there's much less pain to recover from. Slight Sasusaku. Mostly Team 7 fluff.
One Day at a Time
Sakura was acting strange. Kakashi could tell right away. She was silent, which was an oddity in itself. Usually she would fuss over Sasuke until the boy silenced her with a sharp comment or a straight up glare. He decided to let it slide. Surely it wasn't something to worry about. She was a pre-teen. Pre-teens brooded over absolutely everything and anything. Still, by the corner of his eye, he could see Sasuke peeking at her warily, as if she had somehow grow a second head while Naruto complained about their newest D-rank. When the young Uchiha realized he had been caught staring at his teammate, he glared at Kakashi and looked the other way.
Such cute students he had indeed.
The next day she remained the same, but then again not everybody got over their madness in one day, and Sakura seemed the resentful type, so he still didn't address it. However, he felt slightly put out when she started going over katas and stamina training while the boys sparred in the background.
The third day, however, was rather concerning. She showed up with dark ninja pants, long sleeved fingerless gloves that reached above her elbows and a white tank top. It contrasted greatly with her overall everyday appearance. Moreover, she was a bit ruffled, as if she had been exercising before their meeting. Also, her eyes held dark circles underneath. When he revealed himself, Sasuke was staring blankly at her and Naruto was being royally ignored on his many questions while she meditated.
By the time they made it to sparring, he could tell she was frustrated. Her chakra was unsteady, flickering like a blown bulb on its last hours. It spiked with fury everytime she failed to do a push up. Her teammates were also distressed, surely noticing her predicament. Still, the tension remained, but no one dared say anything nor break it.
Half an hour later, she fell face first to the floor because she caught her own hair under her palm. The boys stopped the pitiful spar abruptly —they weren't onto it anyways, too preoccupied stealing subtle glances to their teammate—. Kakashi was half a way from closing on her when she suddenly growled and stood up, nose bleeding, and took a kunai from her pouch.
"Saku—"
Then, she gripped furiously at the end of her long tresses and cut them clean with the knife, tossing the seemingly offending rest to the ground. Now, her long silky pink hair stood on irregular spikes just above her shoulders. Kakashi stood there, not saying anything, while Naruto's mouth fell open —speechless for once—. Sasuke just looked as if he had witnessed something freaky, eyes widened and everything.
She whipped her blood with the back of her fingerless gloves.
"Sakura-chan! What the heck?!"
Kakashi put a hand on Naruto's shoulder the instant he felt Sakura shake. Her breath started to go faster, as if she couldn't take enough air.
"I... I can't—"
Surprisingly, Sasuke was beside her. "Sakura. Listen to me." He places both of his hands on her shoulders, firmly but gently, and Kakashi can't help but stare, mildly astonished. "Breathe with me."
"I... I can't!"
"Yes, yes you can. Just focus only on me. Breathe."
And for once, Naruto is not saying anything, not fussing over her, probably understanding she needed to cling to every ounce of calmness. Instead, he settles for approaching her and rubbing her back, tracing the circle of the Haruno clan with his palm.
"I can't do it... I can't. It'll never be enough." She fisted her hands, stabbing her own skin with her nails until her knuckles went white.
"Enough for what, Sakura?"
"Shut up, dobe! Not now!" That effectively shut the blonde up. Sasuke's gaze shifted to her once more. "Sakura. Breathe with me. Just breathe."
Five minutes later and her breathing stabilized. They had sat her under a sturdy tree, fallen leaves and traces of the sun leaking between them every now and then.
"I'm too weak... I can't go on like this. I need to be stronger."
"You are doing fine, Sakura." This time it was Kakashi who talked, scared shitless of the way she was talking. It sounded too much like Sasuke to be healthy.
"No, I'm not!" She rubbed at her eyes. "I'm a failure to this team. I can't do anything right, I freeze up all the time, I'm not even worth a spar!" She pointed her finger to her teammates, tears still dropping down her cheeks. "One day, they're gonna get killed and I'll just— If I don't contribute I might be the reason if someday—"
"Enough." This time it is Sasuke. He looked positively furious; his nose scrunched up in a sneer. "If you want to be strong so bad, then train. Stop pitying yourself! You're being annoying."
"Oi! Teme!" Naruto shouted, ready to launch at and beat some sense into the young Uchiha. However, Kakashi stopped them in time, just before they got closed enough to cause a scene.
"Both of you. Knock it off. Now's not the time."
They glared at each other once more but Naruto turned to the pinkette, eyes softening. "Sakura-chan, you are already usef—"
"Don't lie, idiot!" Sasuke pushed him out of the way.
"HEY, YOU ASSH—"
"Yes, you are weak. And yes, you contribute little to the team now." He stated it seriously, meeting her glossy eyes up front while ignoring Naruto.
She averted her green orbs in shame.
"However... "
Sakura had heard that tone a couple of times before. She knew it all too well. That was how he talked when he was going to say something embarrassing, but necessary. That was the tone he used when he needed to be kind. The tone she dreamed of since she was a child.
He didn't say 'I love you', but she felt her heart ignite at his next words:
"That doesn't mean that you can't be in the future, though." He crossed his arms over his chest, closing his eyes, and Sakura could have sworn she saw a light blush contrasting against his fair skin. But the shadow of the tree made it difficult to tell, and she didn't want to assume, so she left it slide.
"Yeah, believe it! Our team is gonna be great in no time, Sakura-chan!" And just like that, she felt some tension leaving her guts. Naruto had that effect when he did wanted to be considerate. He looked childish and was loud, but there were moments like these when she did appreciate his positiveness. After all, she way too down-to-earth for her own good.
"Thank you, guys..." She smiled weakly at them. But it was a smile. "Really."
"Anytime, Sakura-chan." Kakashi ruffled her freshly cut hair, an eye smile peeking off his mask. "Just remember: one step at a time."
She was fine the morning afterwards, althought there had been some shift; that was for sure. Kakashi couldn't put a finger on it, but the changes were there. Her efforts were leading her to become proficient in gengutsu, and he tested her everyday on those while the other two sparred.
It was the first step on the right direction, and Sakura never forgot. She never forgot the words her older self had uttered. They were imprinted on her memory, marked by her will of fire like a sacred prayer:
"They're the reason I'm breathing, and they'll be the reason you wake up every morning. Then, because you take them for granted, you'll lose them. And that'll hunt you. Forever."

Polka Dotted Panties
Sasuke sat on the couch, mindlessly flipping through channels on the TV far too quickly to really catch what was on. He could still hear Sakura in the shower. He wished she would hurry up. And it wasn't because he was lonely without her beside him. No. He’d never admit that. At least, never aloud...
Just as his mind started to wonder and fall into the anxious pit it usually did when he thought too hard about his feelings for Sakura, he heard the bedroom door open. He turned to see Sakura fresh out of the shower, a towel covering her pink hair as she attempted to dry it. His eyes skated down the rest of her body. She wore a light yellow t-shirt, one he’d seen her in a dozen times. But his eyes narrowed when he noticed her lack of pajama bottoms. Instead, he was face to face with a red pair of panties adorned with a little white polka dot pattern.
This wasn’t the first time he had seen Sakura in her underwear. They’d been teammates for years, so the accidental slip up was bound to happen. And they had been dating for a few months now, having spent the night at each other’s place on more than one occasion. But their relationship was still new and he couldn’t help but be a little blindsided by her casual state of undress.
“Sorry I took so long. I just felt like I couldn’t get clean after that mission,” Sakura stated, seeming completely unfazed by her lack of appropriate attire.
Sasuke just hummed his usual grumpy acknowledgement.
Sakura made her way over to the kitchen, continuing to dry the ends of her hair with the towel before calling over her shoulder, “would you like some tea?”
Lucky for Sasuke, he found his mouth automatically answered for him because his mind was completely focused on something else. And that something else was the sway of his girlfriend’s hips as she crossed the room in front of him. His eyes zeroed in on the hem of her t-shirt as it brushed the curve of her back. The way those panties hugged her bottom made his fingers twitch, the bright red color seemed to accentuate her pear-shaped figure. He couldn’t help thinking that she wore those specific pair of panties for him.
He was able to clear his head for a moment when her derrière became hidden behind the kitchen island. He was thankful for the slight reprieve. Sasuke had been struggling a lot lately to keep himself in check around Sakura. They hadn’t advanced in their physical relationship yet and his reaction just now had him a little worried that his control might be slipping. He didn’t want to push himself on her. He would be forever grateful that she still even had romantic feelings for him after all the shit he pulled. So he was determined not to ruin their relationship. Again.
He clenched his fist and took a deep breath to calm himself down. Because honestly, it was embarrassing to be turned on by such a mundane thing. He refused to lose himself over a goddamn undergarment. No matter how sexy the ass was that wore them.
Sakura returned just then, effectively disrupting his inner turmoil. His eyes tracked her movements back toward him, taking in her toned thighs and the little white bow at the top of her waistband. He hated himself for these stupid carnal desires. And to make matters worse, Sakura thought it perfectly okay to stand before him and bend over slightly as she placed the tea tray on the coffee table.
Sasuke felt his heart do a weird stutter as his eyes grew wide.
“You okay?” Sakura questioned as she took a seat next to him on the couch.
“Fine,” Sasuke huffed, turning his face away from her to hide the intense blush on his cheeks.
Sakura just smirked at his reaction.
