What do I see? A security person?

Obviously the octopus here wouldn't use you as in previous chapters. He would ask you if you would like to be part of the staff and if the answer is no, he still has Floyd and Jade, they serve very well to be scary.

Although, internally, Azul is dying to see you in the Monstro Lounge outfit (new kink unlocked maybe?)

He would be a bit embarrassed to ask for your help with diet and exercise, but to see your body sculpted from years of continuous effort ... he would like to make an effort for himself.

Kalim

He's the typical person who doesn't care about your physique, your height, skin color, etc. If you are a good person he will be by your side 25/8.

I'm not going to deny that Kalim would feel very safe by your side, but in the same way he would see you as a strong and capable friend, rather than a bodyguard.

Jamil will be eternally grateful if you give him a little break every now and then, so he doesn't have to worry about taking care of him all the time.

I see Kalim as someone who is always looking for your hugs, feeling them surrounding him and squeezing him. Strong hugs is his specialty, the stronger and able to blow the back, the better.

One last way nouns can be created in Navajo is by using no nouns at all. Navajo, unlike many other languages, has a relatively high ratio of verbs to nouns. Many words can be created only with verbs.

I have to admit, this panel has been eating my #SasuSaku brain rot alive since it came out.

In the canonverse, this makes perfect sense to me. After everything they've been through, petty jealousies and insecurities are probably not high on the list of relationship problems. Even just with LDRs, either you trust them or you break up. It wears you down over time.

Since Sasuke and Sakura are still together and happy, it makes sense to me that they've done enormous amounts of relationship building, communication, blahblah that we don't get to see because this series is called Naruto. Fine. That's what blank period fanfiction is for. Note that I'm not saying that that's definitely what happened, but that it's plausible for me. It clicks together in the canonverse universe.

But I don't write Blank period fanfiction. I write AUs, usually with some kind of lite tragic backstory for Sasuke because I don't really want to write Charasuke (although that could be fun some day). And in those AUs, Sasuke and Sakura are older when they meet and don't quite have that level of history that they do in the canonverse.

So now the question I'm struggling with is is AU Sasuke ever jealous and does he act on it? Esp if he's older when he and Sakura start doing the courtship dance, without all that history between them.

On one hand, Sasuke (Ilu boo, but you know it's true) has an ego the size of the moon, and I can see him being supremely confident in his woman to deal with this shit. Once they're settled and their relationship is strong. But what about before that? What if Sasuke was the one doing the pursuing? I think I've always landed in the "yes but he'd rather die than admit it out loud" camp when I write AUs where they're falling in love. But now I'm second guessing myself - maybe he genuinely wouldn't notice or act on it. Maybe he'd be of the "If you love her, let her go" camp.

On the other, jealous Sasuke is hella fun to write (see ATSiD 36 - he's not subtle to anyone besides Sakura). And maybe that's where I'll land on fanfic stuff - write what's fun. And maybe piecing this together in a story where I explore this *is* what's going to be fun

Now excuse me as I waste many more brain cells on whether or not young adult! Sasuke is the jealous sort.

HAHAHAHAH Yeah I did just leave you all on the cliffhanger. Is it a cliffhanger though? Well... yeah okay it’s a cliffhanger. BUT GUYS THEY MET. THEY FINALLY TALKED TO EACH OTHER IN PERSON. IT’S A MOMENT.

Y’all I have to confess I did not realize just how slow of a slow burn I was writing when I started out to do this. Because the whole damn thing is so sappy sweet and long, and really in the grand scheme of things, 10 episodes into a 30 episode series isn’t all that slow of a burn. 33/96 chapters though... is quite a slowburn LOL. Oops. I should start counting chapters until the first kiss *mumbles*

Let’s see, other notes: I did have Sakura admit that she was meeting up with Sm1rk. This wasn’t one of my original changes, but honestly fell out from when I was writing this - I just don’t think Sakura would keep her friends at as much of a distance as Weiwei would. There’s a certain ephemerality to the character of BeiWeiWei and Xiao Nai that suits the C-Drama world, but I’m westernizing this Drama, so I get to do what I want with it, lol. Also half the girls’ dialogue comes from me circling around the main event - I WAS NERVOUS OKAY GUYS. But it works, so we’re keeping it. And yes, that last little bit entirely came from a commentor who mentioned that Sakura was going to faint when she realizes Meister is Uchiha-senpai - I was rewatching the drama last night and realized that she��d specifically chosen not to wear heels because Chinese dating culture or something. But honestly like - ladies, especially tall ladies, wear heels on your first date! I stand by my fic advice there. Life is too short to cater to fragile male egos. (also I totally forgot the indecent dress line came from the scene in this episode and not the one before - good thing I’d already decided to cut this shopping scene). 

Ehehehehe now we’re entering a new phase of the story where these two dorks actually get to talk to each other. I’m curious to see if my Sasuke principle (see previous tumblr post about him being a potato) still holds true. We’ll see!

Whew! Another chapter I’m mostly satisfied with (as a recovering perfectionist). This chapter felt a lot longer than it was - I didn’t realize how short it was until I was doing the final edits. Probably because I felt like I was layering so much irony and foreshadowing, LOL.

There’s a particular bit here that I came up with while writing, but I’m extraordinarily happy with how this is going to play out in the background. Gives one of the background storylines so much more depth and oomph. I’m super happy about it (even though it was also a bit sad for me, as my readers will see eventually).

Iunno, the mojo’s been kind of squashed, so I haven’t been forcing it. Now that I’m outsiding and peopling more, I can feel it coming back - and I’m *so* excited to get to the IRL chapters

Y’ALL

This was a damn hard one to write. And not just because the muse wandered off during the writing - I wanted so badly to nail the dynamic here. Their first meeting is awkward, hilariously cringe and yet so painfully earnest and sincere, and that was hard, especially Sakura going through all the stages of acceptance - honestly I think I kind of mirrored the stages of grief without meaning to.

I realized I was in much deeper than I was expecting when I wrote Sakura musing over the imaginary secret cameras. Because it was funny, so I knew it had to stay, but also... it made me realize she’s not going to accept him so easily. In the novel, there’s brief period when they game and then she thinks they close the distance slightly, but also I really have to deal with that fan girl dynamic at the same time, because Sakura isn’t Weiwei - She doesn’t just admire Uchiha-senpai as a professional role-model, she’s got a full-on fangirl stanship going on. And our Sakura would never be able to keep a lid on it like Weiwei does by floating along. I was practically tearing my hair out, tbh. 

Honestly, I’m very proud of that bike ride moment - like such a good Sasuke/Naihe moment and shows off his black belly, but also it serves as that realization that Sakura has, that she’s not dealing with Uchiha-senpai, she’s dealing with Meister. And after all that work I did trying to walk the tightrope between her infatuation with Uchiha-senpai and her growing feelings for Meister without distancing her too far from Uchiha-senpai so that this moment would still work, you better believe I was going to nail this meeting/dynamic.

Well, Fuck - alternatively: On the Death of an Actress

I’m a bit late to this party so forgive me for my lateness (the scandal broke a year ago), but I just found out about Zheng Shuang’s surrogacy scandal. For those who aren’t in the know, Zheng Shuang plays Weiwei in Love O2O, but all her works are blacklisted because after having two children through surrogacy, she attempted to terminate them through late-term abortions when her relationship with their father turned sour. As a result, all her works, including Love O2O, have been blacklisted in China.

For those of you who don’t know, I’m probably most well-known as an author for my Naruto/Love O2O Fusion fic, A Tiny Smirk is Devastating. I first fell in love with the story as A Slight Smile is Very Charming back in 2018, when I was getting into translate webnovels, then devoured everything about it, including the drama and the movie. I loved Yangyang in it, and up until now, didn’t have a problem with Zheng Shuang (although she gets panned as kind of flat as an actress, but like I thought she suited the Chinese Professional Woman id quite well). But reading this from a western perspective, especially one that has been in the CS/Professional working women POV - there’s several things about the story that rub me entirely the wrong way, so ATSiD is my way of restructuring the story a bit to adjust for the stuff I don’t like. Plus like, quite frankly, while I could see Sasuke overlapping with Xiao Nai really closely, I really wanted a more outspoken female character in Weiwei’s place as a tribute to all the CS women I do know, closer to Novel Weiwei or Movie Weiwei vs Love O2O Weiwei, and Sakura fits the bill quite nicely.

Let me be perfectly clear - I am 100% pro-a woman’s right to choose, because pregnancy has devastating effects on a woman’s body and psyche, and no one can be asked to give up their life for someone else. Zheng Shuang was not pregnant, and abandoning her children just because she broke up with her boyfriend shows callousness towards life that I’m quite frankly disgusted with, same way I would be disgusted with deadbeat dads. ATSiD is not an endorsement of her or her work as an actress. ATSiD is a tribute to an adorable, sweet, uncomplicated but also deep work that happens to have the misfortune of fostering a terrible human’s career. I choose to continue working on it as a tribute to everyone else, and to write a version where she doesn’t abandon her children >.>

I haven’t given up on ATSiD - I’ll be back to it soon. Just struggling a bit with nailing Sasuke and Sakura meeting IRL, because their dynamic is so important to get just right for the rest of the story to play out properly. This meeting is so crucial as a turning point from Online to Offline (Hence, O2O), in that it’s so awkward and funny, but also so painfully earnest, and I really want to nail that (Plus, muse decided we would publish SasuSaku Smut instead. And then against my better judgement, decided she wanted to do a ficlet challenge. To you know. Practice. Don’t ask me, ask the Muse).

So I’ll leave you with a snip from the next chapter that gives you an idea of why I’m struggling so hard with Chapter 34 of ATSiD (Under the jump) :) Note that this is a draft and not final, so don’t hold me to the exact wording

Uchiha-senpai though? There’s no way! Maybe there’s a hidden camera around here. Sakura tried to look around surreptitiously, but Sasuke saw her little movements.

The corner of his mouth quirked up. “Though you might finish algo early. Didn’t want to make you wait again.”

“Huh? Wait?” I don’t see any wires so they must be using fairly small battery-powered units. That limits the transmission range and video quality. 

“The couple’s tournament.”

“Oh, that! No, that’s okay.” I don’t even see a lens. Must be a pinhole device of some kind.

“Lunch?”

“Uh-huh.” If I’m lucky, they won’t even have voice recording capability. That way no one will think I’m a total lunatic, asking the most eligible bachelor if he’s my dom, or whatever people will come up with.

“OK, let’s go then,” Go? We can’t go! What if the real Meister shows up while I’m still dealing with this hidden camera nonsense? 

“...,” What if Meister picks up on this embarrassing crush I’ve had on Uchiha-senpai all along?

HAHA FINALLY. OK. SO.

Yes this chapter almost took as long as a baby to stew, come together and produce. Mostly because plotting Lscore was an *idiot* and left a note “reverse the irl/online dynamic between Tenten and Neji vs Erxi and Cao Guang. That totally makes sense, right?”

No, dear reader, it does not make sense. What was I thinking?

So I spent a month trying to make the details worked and didn’t like where any of it was going. And after a month, gave it all up, threw us back to the original dynamic, and then realized Neji’s a twit and he’s hard to write when he’s being punchable Neji. Especially when I’m writing NejiTen. Urgh. Should write a fluffy NejiTen oneshot just to exorcise the ghost.

Also, yes I did take the 30 second montage in the library and spin it out to a whole scene. Because I wanted to, and quite frankly I feel like my incarnation of Sakura, while she has more energy and directness than Weiwei, still has some of that same naivety, and I wanted to play with it. Also someone asked how you know when you’re in love on the fanfiction reddit so that got me thinking, so. You know, you have this.

FINALLY. A good chunk of my motivation for writing ATSiD is to fix things I didn’t like in the original media, and hacking your crush’s computer is definitely one of those things I don’t like. So I had to come up with a suitable replacement that wasn’t so creepy. Although I might have to go back and retcon that one, I can’t remember. But no one’s reading these AN’s anyways, right? *Shifty eyes*
