Summary:

When Harry arrives for his first year teaching at Hogwarts and is struck with a bizarre malignance, how on earth is he supposed to react when Draco Malfoy suddenly cares?

A darkness crawls out of Harry, and there's only so long he can keep it to himself.

Malfoy took Harry’s jaw in one hand and shoved him against the wall and Harry just— went. Malfoy was livid, his hand squeezing Harry’s face to the point of pain, his gunmetal eyes scouring every inch of it. Harry squirmed and jostled in Malfoy's hold, but he had gotten strong and Harry hadn’t noticed. Harry had been an Auror, he should be incapacitating Malfoy and taking off back to the safety of his rooms, victorious. His voice was a hoarse whisper through squashed lips. “I said… get the fuck… off of me, Malfoy.” Gradually, Malfoy relaxed his hand though he stayed close enough that Harry couldn’t make a break for it, wielding his wand and breathing all over Harry's skin and smelling like lemon and black pepper and wild mint.

thinking about Orym not just telling Ashton that he cares about them, but the things he says after: I get it, to a degree, I do. You would never fuck off. You really do have a soft heart. I know you mean well.

there was so much questioning of Ashton and his intentions by the other Hells, accusations that he was power-hungry and that he didn't care about them, that he manipulated or coerced Fearne into giving him the shard, that he was just a "bad" person. even the new shared understanding they had by the time they left for the Feywild, that Ashton took the shard because he was misguided and mired in self-loathing, only gets reported back to Ashton in pretty obtuse ways.

Orym has the benefit of getting time to think, and who knows what he would have said or done had Liam been there for ep 78. but even still he's the first to tell Ashton not just that he cares about them but also that he sees the good in them. most people have never bothered to even look for that. if Ashton can even see it right now it must seem tiny, meaningless, completely drowned out by all the bad in them.

and the other Hells do see that good, to varying degrees, even now. they love Ashton too, and they love him for a reason. but the first one who actually thinks to tell Ashton that is Orym.

I don't know if I'm sad or angry about *H*H* and how it portrayed Hell and its Highest Princes, Kings, Presidents and Marquis or lack thereof. If Miss Medrano truly wanted to criticise Christianity, she could've utilised Demonology and people who work with them. And no, not all Demons are evil.

There are also videos of people having some experiences working or conjuring them and some Demons also want to share their knowledge.

King Paimon - There are videos of people talking about working with King Paimon and I highly recommend watching them. He teaches all arts, philosophies and all secrets things - an offering to him must be made.

Prince Orobas - faithful to the ones that conjure him, never deceives them, gives true answers to past, present and things to come, divinity and creation of the world, confers dignities and prelacies, and favour of friends and foes. - this Prince could be a nice depiction of Demons working with humans, since Prince Orobas along with King Paimon love sharing knowledge -

Prince Stolas - astrology, knowledge of herbs, plants and precious stones. Again, since he's the 'main character' in *H*B* they could show him teaching humans or those who desire to know more - imps or sinners. Then again....

Marquis Gamigin - teaches all liberal sciences and gives an account of the souls of those who died in sin and drowned in the sea. Stays with the conjurer until they are satisfied.

There are also tortured demons, who still wish to return to heaven - Phenex for example - also a pacifist demon, who got casted out of heaven due to not picking a side (no, not Belphegor who was just lazy). All of this could be written as a tragedy, a criticism of God and Christianity, that not all Demons are evil, how Satanists (not in horror movies) and others worship someone else other than God.

(TLDR, I still don't understand why they want to redeem sinners when heaven was shown to be worse than hell.)

hi hi i just finished reading a soft place to fall and must i say, you are not only an incredibly talented artist, but also an amazing writer, too?! What I especially adore is harry and draco's dynamic throughout the story. I've read lots and lots of different stories of the two, and it physically hurts me when Harry continues to hurt himself. He has already gone through so much during his childhood, it's practically canon for him to come out of the war not without being unscathed. And then there's Draco, who makes it his mission to take care of him. (Healing love is my favorite trope...). There's a balance that comes with maintaining a relationship, and as who individuals who used to be enemies, that balance is precarious. (After reading a story that tipped over the scale, I think I've been traumatized a little bit... too much angst for me haha) Harry and Draco have both been through a lot, but I like to think that their coming together is like...realizing what you never knew you needed, yet you can no longer live without. I think it's so sweet that Hydrus, a manifestation of Harry's childhood trauma, finds comfort in Draco (even before Harry himself). It's like Harry finding Draco as his safe place was bound to happen because Draco takes care of him like no one else can, as a lover who understands his struggles without Harry articulating what he wants or needs to say. Also Harry and Draco taking care of Hydrus as their own child makes me yearn for some Drarry-parents content. Closing off with saying that this fandom is so lucky to have you. mwah mwah.

IM RESPONDING TO THIS SO LATE IM SORRY!!! thank you so much for your thoughtful words I really really do appreciate it so much 🥹 and to the point about Hydrus connecting with and finding comfort in Draco before Harry does, it's truly one of my favourite things about ASPTF. Like, Harry's id, his base desires, all his vulnerable bits seek out Draco and akdks it makes me a little crazy!! The technical reason for it that I never explained is wandlore stuff with their magic being connected/compatible because of Harry using Draco's wand, but there is, ofc, always more to it than that with them. They're always seeking each other out 🙂‍↕️ and yesss healing love is my favourite aswell, they've earned it!!

what i really like abt this design is the fact that it REALLY reflects that he's a band, kinda punk guy but he's the friendly goofy kind of punk... his piercings add more emphasis to it. i wasnt entirely the biggest fan of his pointed hair because it felt a little out of place and unnatural (anime-ish) compared to everyone else. (if his hair looked more like kent's then that's fine for me) but this ... i know it kinda removed the hard spikes in his hair but in a way... i kinda like ... its still swept away like his og but it isn't forcefully pointing upwards. its like he used too much gel and its suiting LOL AHDBSHS its nicey.... the bandage is a nice touch because i imagine he fell over his skateboard a few times when he does his kickflips
