The Incredible Benefits of Guava Leaves for Skin Care
In recent years, the world has turned its attention toward natural remedies, and one such treasure trove of benefits comes from guava leaves. While guava fruit is often celebrated for its nutritional value, the leaves hold a plethora of skincare benefits that can elevate your beauty routine. In this blog, we’ll explore the remarkable benefits of guava leaves for skin care, why you should consider incorporating them into your regimen, and how to use them effectively.
Nutrient-Rich Composition
Guava leaves are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that contribute significantly to skin health. They contain vitamins A, C, and E, which are essential for maintaining skin elasticity and preventing premature aging. Additionally, guava leaves boast high levels of flavonoids and tannins, which have anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. This unique composition makes guava leaves a powerhouse for skin care.
Anti-Aging Properties
One of the standout benefits of guava leaves is their anti-aging effect. The antioxidants present in these leaves help combat free radicals, which are responsible for skin damage and aging. Regular application of guava leaf extract can reduce fine lines and wrinkles, promoting a youthful appearance. The vitamins in guava leaves also help in the production of collagen, which is crucial for maintaining skin firmness.
Treating Acne and Blemishes
If you're struggling with acne, guava leaves can be a game changer. Their antimicrobial properties help to eliminate bacteria that cause acne, while their anti-inflammatory effects reduce redness and swelling. To harness these benefits, you can create a simple guava leaf paste by boiling the leaves and grinding them into a paste. Applying this to affected areas can help soothe your skin and diminish acne over time.
Soothing Sunburns
The summer sun can take a toll on your skin, leading to painful sunburns. Guava leaves can provide relief from these effects. They possess cooling properties that soothe irritated skin and reduce inflammation. By making a guava leaf infusion and applying it to sunburned areas, you can alleviate discomfort and promote faster healing.
Promoting Even Skin Tone
Dark spots and uneven skin tone can be a source of frustration for many. Guava leaves can help lighten these spots due to their natural astringent properties, which tighten the skin and reduce excess oil production. The antioxidants also assist in fading pigmentation over time, leading to a more even complexion. For best results, consider using guava leaf extract in your daily skincare routine.
Natural Exfoliation
Exfoliation is crucial for maintaining healthy skin, and guava leaves can serve as a gentle exfoliant. They contain enzymes that help slough off dead skin cells without being harsh on the skin. Regular exfoliation with guava leaf paste can reveal fresher, more radiant skin underneath. Incorporating this into your routine once a week can make a noticeable difference.
Hydration and Moisture Retention
Another of the many benefits of guava leaves is their ability to hydrate the skin. They contain compounds that help lock in moisture, preventing dryness and maintaining a healthy glow. For those with dry skin, using guava leaf-infused water as a toner can enhance hydration levels and keep your skin plump and youthful.
How to Use Guava Leaves for Skin Care
Now that you’re aware of the impressive benefits of guava leaves, here’s how you can easily incorporate them into your skincare routine:
1. Guava Leaf Tea
Brew guava leaves in boiling water to create a tea. Allow it to cool, then use it as a toner to refresh and hydrate your skin.
2. Guava Leaf Paste
Boil a handful of guava leaves in water, then blend them into a paste. Apply this paste to your face or areas affected by acne, leave it on for 20 minutes, and rinse off with lukewarm water.
3. Guava Leaf Infusion
Infuse guava leaves in oil (like coconut or olive oil) for a few weeks. Strain the oil and use it as a moisturizer to nourish and hydrate your skin.
4. Guava Leaf Scrub
Mix ground guava leaves with sugar or oatmeal to create a natural exfoliating scrub. Use this once a week to keep your skin smooth and radiant.
Conclusion
The benefits of guava leaves for skin care are vast and varied. From anti-aging effects to treating acne, soothing sunburns, and promoting even skin tone, guava leaves deserve a place in your beauty arsenal. With their natural properties and nutrient-rich composition, guava leaves offer a holistic approach to skincare that is both effective and gentle on the skin. So, why not give guava leaves a try and unlock their potential for achieving radiant, healthy skin?

The Art of Home Juicing
Juicing has gained immense popularity as a means of harnessing the natural goodness of fruits and vegetables. However, to truly reap the benefits, it's essential to understand the art of home juicing. Dr. Wrubel emphasizes the importance of selecting high-quality, organic produce as the foundation of your juices. These ingredients are not only packed with vitamins and minerals but are also free from harmful pesticides, ensuring a cleaner and healthier juice.
Balancing Flavors and Nutrients
Creating a well-balanced juice involves more than just throwing together a random assortment of ingredients. Dr. Wrubel advocates for a thoughtful approach that combines fruits and vegetables in a way that not only pleases the palate but also provides a diverse array of nutrients. For example, mixing sweet fruits like apples with leafy greens like spinach adds a delightful sweetness while delivering essential vitamins and antioxidants.
The Power of Freshness
One of the fundamental principles of home juicing is to prioritize freshness. Using produce that is at the peak of ripeness ensures that you capture the maximum flavor and nutritional value. Dr. Wrubel recommends sourcing ingredients from local farmers' markets whenever possible. This not only supports your community but also guarantees the freshest, most vibrant produce for your juices.
Customizing for Health Goals
Juicing isn't a one-size-fits-all endeavor. It can be tailored to address specific health goals. Whether you're aiming to boost your immune system, increase energy levels, or support overall wellness, Dr. Wrubel provides guidance on selecting ingredients that align with your objectives. Juice Cleanse Additions: Soups
"The Vitamix's simplicity in producing hot soup at home with fresh whole food components is one of my favorite features. These substantial soups are filling without becoming overpowering:
Corn Soup (Photo credit: Vitamix)
•         Corn soup is incredibly easy and filling.
•         This Vegan Pea and Kale Soup is delicious and packed with vegetables.
•         Warmth and comfort are yours after eating roasted red pepper soup.
Vitamix Juice Cleanse Ingredient Benefits:
There is a valid reason why some raw fruit and vegetable juice ingredients appear again in the juice recipes for this 3-day cleanse. Certain fruits and vegetables might help you feel better by giving you energy and healthful antioxidants, among other health benefits.
What we need know about the components used in this juice cleanse, according to Dr. Wrubel:
Pineapple: Sweet fruit with built-in digestive enzymes is the pineapple. Bromelain, a substance found in pineapple, especially the firm core, aids in the breakdown of food for better digestion and intestinal health.
Carrots: Compared to using a conventional juicer, the Vitamix uses far fewer carrots when juicing full fruits. However, you'll keep their healthy fiber. The beta-carotene found in carrots is also well known for converting to vitamin A in the body, which is crucial for the health of our eyes.
Citrus (Lemon, Lime, Orange): Citrus fruits have a refreshing flavor and are packed with vitamin C, which strengthens our immune system and keeps us from becoming sick.  Just be sure to keep the white pith underneath the peel! Lemon juice and orange juice are two examples.
Ginger: We adore the flavor it gives to juices, but we adore the help it provides for digestion even more.
Turmeric: This vibrant root has been used for hundreds of years and is well known for its anti-inflammatory effects.
Beets: This deep red beauty is a powerhouse of antioxidants. You'll see that just a tiny bit of these food heroes makes the juice a stunning shade of crimson.

god ppl trying to claim jasons "we're the not so different you and i" villain speech to mia WASNT incredibly unsubtle subtext... that they went through the same trauma... like he says theyre alike. she says he knows nothing about her. he lists what he knows. and then he repeats that they're alike.
that's only barely subtext and not text itself, man. trying to argue that isn't the intention that jason was also a csa victim is just willful misreading at that point

I am so beyond ready to quit this job. Wednesday cannot come fast enough.
#to be fair it's bc school starts again in a few weeks#but idk. every day at this office feels like sandpaper on my skin. people always ask me shit i dont understand#and every case is so individual there's no set checklist to follow to troubleshoot#so most of the time I just grind my gears and get stuck#it'd busy more days than not.#and it was advertised to me as data entry only. client interactions was not what i signed up for.#it's all client interaction.#we're short staffed so nobody gets to take the back office and have a break.#when we weren't short staffed i was the new guy and only got 1 day in the back a week while everyone else got 2.#all my coworkers are conservative but talk like they're apolitical.#i thought it'd be fulfilling bc im helping people get benefits#but many are rude or impatient as any other service job. I'm constantly trying to direct people that don't want to listen#or explain the intricacies of something i barely understand.#and i don't want to lead people astray bc you have to start over if you blow a deadline.#but there's just nothing redeeming that i enjoy.#i hate customer service. i hate constantly asking questions. i like seldom few of my coworkers.#i can't be me at work.#and i don't care about the work itself anymore.#this job made me cry every day for weeks last month from sheer stress and overstimulation.#i almost cried myself sick several times.#the only reason I'm not there anymore is bc i dont fucking care anymore.#it took me 2 months to burn out. 2 months!#i was training for half of that!!#idk. everyone decided i was smart and could pick it up quickly so. even though everyone else got 4-6 weeks of shadowing#you can make do with 3 before you start doing stuff solo.#which feels unfair. i wasn't ready for it. and i resent the decision quite a bit.#plus it's been a nightmare for me in terms of external stressors and my generally deteriorating mental health. so.#all in all. i hate it here.#and i can't wait to turn in my notice so i can gtfo in 2 weeks#i am so tired. free me. let me go back to my music please

DIY: Summer Citrus Sugar Scrub
Tumblr media
Rejuvenate and revive your skin with this easy citrus sugar scrub recipe. With only 3 ingredients you probably already have on hand, you’ll be ready to whip up this gentle exfoliating body scrub in no time!
Sugar Scrub, or body polish is a luxurious way to refresh your skin. It is so gentle that it can even be used on sensitive skin.
Exfoliating body scrub makes a great shower favor, quick gift, treat for yourself or a hostess gift when you are welcomed to a friend’s beach house.  This jar will keep my skin happy all summer long!
Keep a jar of this sugar scrub by your kitchen to soothe your hands after washing dishes. It will rehydrate your skin from the harshness of the hot water and dish soap. Keep a jar of sugar scrub in the shower for a mini spa treatment up to 3 times a week!
Citrus Sugar Scrub Recipe Ingredients
It’s made with just a few ingredients, from your kitchen!
Sugar – 1/2 cup of regular white table sugar is perfect for this diy sugar scrub! It exfoliates your skin, gentling rubbing away dead skin cells leaving your skin feeling smooth and radiant.
Oil – I use 1/4 cup Vitamin E Oil in this recipe which is so good for your skin. Its anti inflammatory properties soothes and calms, while hydrating dry skin and working to heal any blemishes.
Citrus – Is so good for your body inside and out! Naturally full of vitamin C it leaves your skin with a beautiful glow! It also can help to lighten sun spots or other blemishes on your skin. I love the texture and beautiful color the citrus adds along with its amazingly refreshing scent!  You can use the zest from one Orange, Grapefruit, or Lemon, or 2 Limes, in this recipe.
*** Zest is made from the top layer of a fruit peel. Always try to avoid the white pith. If you don’t have a zester, you can use a vegetable peeler to gently peel the top layer of your fruit. Then cut the strips into finer strips lengthwise, and then again into tiny cubes widthwise.
Tumblr media
Supplies
Large Glass Mixing Bowl
Handheld Citrus Zester (variations under Tips and Tricks)
Spatula
Measuring Cups
Sealable Glass Jars (I like to use mason jars or repurpose clean jars I already own)
Ice Cream Scoop
Tumblr media
How to Make Exfoliating Body Scrub
This scrub is so easy to make. It only contains natural ingredients and no artificial food colorings.
Combine sugar and oil.
2. Add zest.
Tumblr media
3. Scoop into sealable glass jars.
4. Label and date.
5. Store for up to 3 months in an airtight container.
Variations
This sugar scrub recipe is so easy to customize to fit your needs!
Citrus Variations – In this recipe I use orange, but any other citrus would work well! In the past, I have used grapefruit, orange, lime, and lemon. They all have worked wonderfully! If using lime I chose to use the zest from 2 limes since they are smaller sized fruit.
Oil Variations – Vitamin E Oil, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Almond Oil, Carrot Oil, Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil, and Grapeseed Oil.
Sugar Variations – Any white sugar should work well in this recipe. Sugar is used for a gentle exfoliation so keep that in mind when choosing the coarseness of the sugar.
For a winter sugar scrub try adding a dash of ground cloves or ground cinnamon.
Add a few drops of essential oils. My favorite combinations include other citrus oils to complement and enhance, floral scents such as moroccan rose or lavender, and woody scents such cedar or rosemary.
Pro Tip: If using coconut oil, it will help to slightly warm the oil on the stovetop or even the microwave before adding it to the mixture. I love coconut oil and lime combination!
How to Store Sugar Scrub
This Sugar Scrub recipe can be stored for up to 3 months in a properly sealed jar / airtight container.
PRO TIP: Upcycle jars you already own!

I have a question that might sound insensitive. A YouTuber claims to be Cherokee, but while her grandfather was claimed by the Nation, she has never tried to reconnect and is not claimed. Mostly she brings it up to go, "I can't be racist, I'm Cherokee". She also uses avatars what are brown-skinned, wear feather earrings and are drawn with exaggerated hourglass figures, even though she's very pale white IRL. She says she has "the Cherokee gene" and points to her very thick black hair as proof of her Cherokee-ness when people ask her about it. Over the last decade, people have tried to recommend books written by Native people or Cherokee language resources or things to her, all of which she ignores. She wouldn't even reblog posts about MMIW until it became popular to do so among animation blogs on tumblr (she's an animation YouTuber).
I don't want to call anyone a "racefaker" without really good reason, because I'm Central Asian and I know I'm very lacking in knowledge about Native Americans. I only grew up partially in the US and we didn't go over hardly anything about Native people. However, when someone told her it's not about what tribe you claim, it's about what tribe claims you, and she got angry and dismissed them, that seemed wrong to me. The few Natives I've known IRL would agree you cannot claim a people who don't claim you.
How can you tell if someone is faking their Cherokee-ness? Her only Cherokee family is a now-deceased grandfather who was, himself, white, and had to work for years to reconnect. She only spoke to him a handful of times prior to his death. I don't want to say it's impossible for her to be Cherokee, because blood quantum is a racist bullshit construct. But she waited until he died to claim she was Cherokee. Her sister says no one else in the family except their grandfather was claimed by the Nation.
A Discord server I'm a moderator in for animation fans tries to highlight creators who are part of marginalized groups and I don't know if I want to include her as a recommendation. I can't tell if she's Cherokee. My gut says this seems like a lie. But I'm from another continent. I don't know if I have the right to judge that.
I'm sorry for the very, very long ask. I was just hoping, since you've talked about how many people fake being Cherokee in the past, you might be able to weigh in, here.
I'm gunna open this up to input from other natives, especially since I'm also white and disconnected. So take my view here with a grain of salt and check the replies to see if anyone else jumps in
unless she does her genealogy or shows proof of her grandfather's involvement with a legit cherokee tribe [I'm assuming you mean Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma] then you sorta can't tell either way whether the story is true or not. But you say her grandfather was recognized by the Nation. It doesnt immediately jump out with red flags for me, I can believe that she actually has cherokee ancestry.
Doesn't mean she's not being a dick. I think it's wrong of her to claim cherokee identity while putting no work into learning about us and actually connecting. She's just using it to benefit herself. Having cherokee ancestry doesn't make someone less white. It doesn't make one less likely or able to be racist. Hell, there is an issue with anti-Black racism in cherokee communities.
She isn't someone that I would want featured as a part of a marginalized group on a server like that. If she doesn't care about our culture and community then why does she even want to claim us except to use us as a get away with racism card. It's weird.

Manuka Honey Vs Raw Honey Vs Regular Honey Compared - Which one is best for you?
Discover the best Manuka Honey: https://super-achiever.com/best-manuka-honey
#manukahoney #rawhoney #honey
Hello Achiever Fam! 🍯
It's time for the ultimate honey showdown: Manuka Honey 🐝 vs. Raw Honey 🌼 vs. Regular Honey 🥄. Which one reigns supreme in the world of health benefits? Let's dive in!
Ingredients Breakdown: Manuka Honey: Packed with the unique compound Methylglyoxal (MGO), known for its strong antibacterial properties. It's also rich in leptosperin, DHA, antioxidants, and prebiotics. Raw Honey: Boasts over 180 substances including vital minerals like potassium, calcium, magnesium, and a spectrum of B-vitamins and vitamin C. Remember, it's minimally processed to preserve these natural treasures. Regular Honey: Often processed, which might dilute its natural goodness. Beware, much of the store-bought honey could be mixed with sweeteners like high-fructose corn syrup.
Surprising Fact 🤯: Americans consume about 400 million pounds of honey annually, with 70% being imported, often adulterated with other sweeteners. The Health Benefits Showdown: Manuka Honey: A superhero for your immune system, digestive health, and energy levels. It can battle bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus and soothe sore throats. It's a beauty guru's dream for combating acne and moisturizing dry skin. 🌟 Remember, the higher the MGO rating, the stronger the benefits! Raw Honey: A historical gem for immune support, packed with prebiotics for gut health and antioxidants for fighting off free radicals. 🛡️ Pro Tip & Warning 💡: Raw honey might contain botulinum spores; hence, it's a NO-NO for babies under one year old due to the risk of botulism. This applies to all honey types.
So, achiever fam, which honey are you sweet on? 🍯 Share your thoughts in the comments below. And don't forget, more honey comparisons are on the way in our next video! See you soon! 👋
