Favourite cat you've found so far?

Aside from my own cat, there are a number of good cat blogs on tumblr that I frequently get tagged in on, such as Pangur & Grim, Ricky, Jimmy and a few others from time to time. There are a lot of good cat blogs on tumblr, inducing a number that just post miscellaneous cat pictures rather than specific cats. Outside of tumblr I do quite like かご猫 Blog, although I don't watch many of their videos beyond going through some of the older playlists. Shiro was the star of that channel and has appeared in a number of images I've been tagged in on, including being the most valuable kitty. They also have a blog website with hundreds of cat pictures on it, although I again haven't really checked up on it in a while. Shiro unfortunately passed away a while back as he was getting very old. I don't quite recall when but the fact there is probably 10 years worth of videos of them all consistently and I still regularly have people finding new images and sending them is really something. There are a number of other cats in the group now but I haven't really been following the newer ones too closely (I mostly go through older videos when I do have time to watch. I have not done this in a while and mostly collection pictures from them on pinterest).

“And you need to make sure you give him bottled water, not tap. He can tell the difference.” Shiro’s lip twitched. ‘Probably because your apartment’s tap water tastes like dirt.’ His brain helpfully supplied, but he kept that to himself. “And another thing, he-” Shiro grabbed Keith’s shoulders. “Keith, I got it, I can look after a dog-” “Space wolf.” The young man cut in. “Space wolf, for a couple of hours.” He turned him around and patted his shoulders. “I know what to do if he teleports, I know what to feed him, and what kind of water to give him, now, go have fun before Lance starts thinking he got stood up.” He playfully pushed him, Keith grunted. “I’m going, I’m going.” He said but paused. “And-” “Keith, please.” Shiro crossed his arms. “It’s important.” He sighed. “Okay, what is it?” His brother turned to face him, his face suddenly serious, Shiro felt his jaw clench. “Kosmo needs a bath, real bad.” Shiro’s shoulders fell and he snorted. “Bath? Okay, that's all?” Keith frowned. “You don’t get it, Shiro. I’ve been meaning to do this for weeks now, and I was going to tonight but Lance-” The older of the two exhaled loudly. “Keith. I will look after Kosmo, he will be okay. Look Keith, I get it, It’s our first month back, things are still..” “Strange.” Keith offered. “Yeah, strange. But don’t let it stop you from having a little fun. You deserve a night out with your fiance.” His brother flushed. “We’re not engaged.” Shiro rolled his eyes and pulled him towards the door, “You will be soon if I have anything to say about it.” He opened the door and nudged him out, Keith stumbled before whipping around, scowling. “Now, hurry up before Lance texts you something like; ‘It’s rude to keep your date waiting.’” Keith made a face of disbelief, clearly trying to choose between smiling and scowling. “You-” Before he could get anything else out. “I’ll call you if anything goes wrong!” And promptly slammed the door. 

Shiro locked the door and took a few steps back from his front door. “Jeez, I thought he’d never leave.” He murmured, a small smile creeping onto his face. He could look after a teleporting dog for a couple of hours, no sweat. He rounded the corner and entered the living room and was met face to face with the man- dog of the hour. He was sitting obediently like Keith left him, his eyes looked way too intelligent for Shiro’s comfort. He cleared his throat, he didn’t realize how unsettling the wolf’s stare was until it was just them staring back at each other. ‘Creepy.’ He thought but cleared his head, that’s not something he should think. The man suddenly felt foolish. “Okay, right, let’s get you some food.” His ears perked up but he stayed stationary. Shiro blinked before thinking back to what Keith told him. “Right, trigger words. Uh, Drvak?” The pronunciation was butchered but the wolf stood, padding into the kitchen, Shiro decided not to dwell on how he knew where that was. 

“What are you feeling? Chicken or, wow this stuff is fancy.” He whistled lowly, the dog perked up and made a noise at him. “Oh, sorry I wasn’t- my bad, no random whistling, got it.” He stumbled out like he was talking to a person. He patted the wolf on his head, he lowered his ears but didn’t shift away, that’s probably a good sign. “Right, food.” He turned to the counter. . After the wolf had eaten his dinner, he settled on the couch. Shiro figured he should give him a minute to digest before trying to drag him to the bath, but he’s had his rest and they just needed to get this over. He stood up suddenly, which seemed to startle the wolf who looked at him questioningly. “Kosmo.” He turned to the canine, the wolf somehow looked unnerved. He cleared his throat, he didn’t want to scare him, so he relaxed and made a beckoning motion. “Come here, Kosmo.” The wolf made a face. “Don’t look so suspicious!” He groaned, the wolf begrudgingly got off the couch, “Alright.. I know you don’t like them but,” They were standing outside the bathroom, he took a careful step towards him. “You need a bath- Oh, no you don’t!” He lunged at the wolf before he teleported them. He was hanging onto him around the neck, he felt grass on his ankles so he assumed they were outside. He looked up and saw his house, so they were just in the yard. “Kosmo.” He said warningly. They were back in the house, the kitchen this time. “Okay, okay.” He said it like he was speaking to a person. “Just a quick wash, come on, Keith doesn’t have time to do it himself.” Kosmo perked up at Keith’s name. Bingo. “Yeah, Keith thinks you should have a bath..” Kosmo’s ears lowered and he made an awfully expressive face. “What about, uh, Key words.” He thought before holding up his index finger. “Bath, treat, Keith.” The wolf’s ear twitched but he still seemed to be considering. Silence stretched between the two, Shiro wasn’t sure what he was expecting. “..Treat now, then bath, then another treat, and then Keith will be back.” The wolf gave a ‘boof’ of agreement. His tail now wagging as Shiro defeatedly went to grab the treats. “This is going to be a headache, isn’t it?” He murmured Although it was nice to see the look of relief on Keith’s face when he was returned to a perfectly groomed alien wolf. It wasn’t going to be nice to explain to his boyfriend why his drain is full of ‘dog’ hair that’s electric blue.

thinking about the Blade of Marmora's reaction to Keith in the demon AU.

It's Shiro who ends up explaining to Kolivan what, exactly, a demon is. It is obvious to Kolivan that before the trials, the man was unwitting as to the true nature of the red paladin- of Krolia's son- and he quietly requests that Kolivan and the Blade not tell Keith he knows. To lie for him. Kolivan senses that this is a personal matter, and agrees.

He nearly doesn't allow Keith to join the Blade.

It seems... counter-intuitive, to allow in a member who is harmed by their own blades, Krolia's son or not. It is not in the same way druids are harmed by them- no, the luxite seems to burn Keith. All but Keith's own blade- which after its awakening, seems to have become harmless to him. He has it on good authority from the one called Pidge, the only other paladin who knows of Keith's true nature, that it was not like that before.

The way demons are described to him... they sound like the tales of the creatures of the rift. The ones that paladins fought so long ago, when there was still a Daibazaal to protect. Kolivan does not know what to make of that. He does not think it is a coincidence. It is something that could make Keith's demon blood a benefit...

...or a danger.

But if the lions of Voltron saw fit to select him as a paladin, then perhaps it is more of the former than the latter.

It's like the Prequels again. Everyone blamed the actors when it's the director who deserves the blame.

OKAY BUT REAL TALK I ACTUALLY JUST READ THIS WHOLE ARTICLE BEFORE CHECKING MY BLOG RIGHT NOW AND I JUST NEED TO SAY THAT CHRIS BEING SO DOWN AND OUT ABOUT HIS ROLE IN THE MCU IS SO SAD TO ME.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way: to put my full thoughts into words... I want to say first that Robert Downey Jr. has this to say about Chris (in response to Chris feeling like he's not as important or as cool as the other heroes):

"Thor as a character was super tricky to adapt [...] but he and Ken Branagh figured out how to transcend, make him somehow relatable but godlike. Hemsworth is, in my opinion, the most complex psyche out of all of us Avengers. He's got wit and gravitas, but also such restraint, fire, and gentleness."

And this is SO true. He took the words out of my mouth.

Reading the article.. and how and where Chris notes feelings of inadequacy, or feeling he's complaining to much (and therefore being narcissistic by complaining), the burning himself out, etc. Suffice it to say I was struck by one thing in particular: There's a lot of Chris in Thor. A LOT of Chris in Thor. It's not a surprise to me, in that case, that he felt down and out about his role in the Avengers, and the MCU as a whole when Thor is, inherently, consequently, alien. But alien in the sense of being SO important, SO regal, so otherworldly in sheer scope and in depth that where he fit in was ... quite simply grander than the others in the overall scheme of things.

It was the Asgardians who brought the Tesseract to Earth and safeguarded it, and the Aether. Two entire infinity stones within their protection. That, is Thor. Who was the one to have a vision about the role of the infinity stones? Thor in "Avengers: Age of Ultron". Who was the one to bring the Vision to life? Thor, also in "Avengers: Age of Ultron". Who was the one to realize as far back as "The Avengers" (2012) that someone was working behind Loki? It was still Thor.

And what I find most interesting is that Chris isn't exactly wrong about what he says here:

"Sometimes I felt like the security guard for the team," he says. "I would read everyone else's lines, and go, Oh, they got way cooler stuff. They're having more fun. What's my character doing? It was always about, 'You've got the wig on. You've got the muscles. You've got the costume. Where's the lightning?' Yeah I'm part of this big thing, but I'm probably pretty replaceable."

Ignoring for a moment that this is absolutely not at ALL the truth, it's not a surprise to me that he felt this way for... particular people and branches within the overarching fandom spaces I won't name for the sanctity of this post. And it is unendingly sad to me to have undeniable proof from the horse's mouth that Chris lost sight of how much depth and beauty he brought to the table as Thor. And how important Thor is as a result.

And yet, I honestly don't blame him FOR losing sight of that. There's a lot he had to - and still has to - contend with. And almost everybody sleeps on his portrayal of Thor in particular. It's depressing to see.

RDJ saying he's got the most complex psyche is so true. Gentle and gravitas, restrained but filled with fire. I love that about Thor. I will always love that about Thor.

I genuinely hope, with Chris seemingly realizing just how far out of touch he fell whilst chasing the high that Taika Waititi's dipshit behavior allowed him to chase, that he does do better. Performs better. But I mean that more in the sense of...

Chris, should you ever happen to read even a small part of this: I hope that you fall back in love with Thor. And I hope you see how lovely he is - and has always been - specifically because of your portrayal of him. You and Thor are not replaceable. You're not boring. At no point have you ever been. And I hope for your last foray into Thor's franchise you get to feel the energy you did when you first put on the costume in the first place. When the costume came on, and it felt like it just fit, and you were transformed into the character entirely. I hope your final goodbye to Thor is filled with all of the love that you first welcomed his part to play with; for you and for all of us.

– and sappiness aside, genuinely, I really do hope that Thor 5 can be a film that Chris feels proud to be a part of. A note he's proud to end on. He deserves it; we all do.
