Photo Booth | Albus Potter x Scorpius Malfoy Oneshot
Tumblr media
Prompt idea from @blue--ingenue
Scorpius is practically pressed against a shop window, peering at the different types of cameras on display. Albus has noticed how fascinated Scorpius got whenever they passed by a technology shop.
“This is… incredible.” Scorpius begins, eyes wide. “These things are all so cool. Cameras, phones, computers… these muggle inventions are incredible”
Albus just chuckles at his reaction. “I’m surprised you're so into these cameras considering ours are magical.”
“Precisely - I’ve been using magical cameras ever since I was little. I have no idea how these could possibly work.” He pointed at the display of photos near the window. “I’m dying to know how they produce pictures without magic! I feel like we should go inside!”
Albus laughs and nods, letting Scorpius pull him into the shop. It’s small and a bit cramped, but packed with electronics and little gadgets. Scorpius looks around like a kid in a candy shop, immediately heading to the section with cameras.
Albus follows him to the camera section and begins inspecting a few of the cameras on display, fascinated by the technology. “This is insane.” He mutters, adjusting a few of the settings to see how they work.
“I know.” Albus says, smiling. He looks over at Scorpius who’s fiddling with the settings, looking concentrated. He’d be lying to himself if he said he didn’t find his boyfriend's fascination with cameras adorable.
Albus watches as Scorpius continues to examine the cameras, feeling a fondness in his chest. He could happily stand here and watch him play with the cameras for hours.
Scorpius picked up another one of the cameras, messing with its settings as well. He suddenly turned it and pointed it at Albus. “Smile!”
Albus blinks for a moment as he processes Scorpius’s words before giving him a small smile. As soon as he smiles, Scorpius takes a picture of him. He grins triumphantly as he looks at the photo that he had just taken.
Albus leans in closer to look at the photo as well. The photo shows Albus smiling directly at the camera, looking a little caught off guard by the sudden picture. “See? You look handsome even when not prepared for a picture.” Scorpius teased.
Albus rolled his eyes, his cheeks turning pink from the compliment. “You just took a picture of me without warning, of course I didn’t look prepared.” He smirked.
“I gave you a warning by saying the word smile.” Scorpius continues to tease with that contagious grin of his. Albus rolled his eyes again, still blushing a little. “That hardly counts as a warning in advance, you git.” He nudged Scorpius playfully.
As they continue with their bantering back and forth one of the employees makes their way over to the two. “Do you need help with anything?”
Albus and Scorpius both turn to face the employee, caught off guard by the sudden interruption. They look at each other, a little stunned, before Albus gathers himself enough to speak. “No, we’re just browsing,” he says with a polite smile.
“Actually,” Albus says before the employee walks off. “We’ll take this camera.” He points to the camera in Scorpius’s hands.
Scorpius looked down at the camera in his hands, surprised by Albus’s sudden decision to buy it. “Really?” he asked, a grin slowly spreading across his face.
Albus nods. “You like that one right? If you want a different one that’s fine too.” He begins to ramble making sure Scorpius didn’t want a different camera.
Scorpius shakes his head, stopping Albus’s rambling. “No, no. I do really like this one. “A small smirk tugs at the corners of his mouth. “You just surprised me, that’s all.”
A smile returns on Albus’s face as he takes the camera from Scorpius’s hands to give it to the employee.
“Let me get the box for this and I’ll meet you back at the register.” the employee says kindly as they begin to walk off.
Albus and Scorpius nod and begin walking towards the register to wait. As they’re waiting, Scorpius nudges Albus with his elbow. “You didn’t have to buy this, y’know. You didn’t have to buy anything.”
“I know but I wanted to.” Albus shrugged. Scorpius smiles at that and reaches out to link his hand with Albus’s.
While waiting Albus notices something out of the corner of his eye taking a mental note of it as the employee returns with the camera just then and starts ringing up their purchase.
Scorpius watches as the employee rings up the purchase, barely able to conceal the excitement on his face as he thought about the camera that Albus had bought for him.
A smile forms on Albus’s face at Scorpius’s excitement. He’s always so much more smiley whenever Scorpius is around.
The employee finishes ringing up the purchase and tells them their total. Albus quickly pulls out his wallet to pay them. He can feel Scorpius practically shaking with excitement next to him, making his own smile grow.
Once the transaction is complete, Albus turns to Scorpius and holds out the bag to him. “Here you go. It’s all yours now.”
Scorpius takes the bag carefully, almost as if he feared that the camera inside was going to explode, and pulls it close to his body, grinning from ear to ear.
“Thank you,” he says, his gratitude evident in his voice. “Now come on I saw something I think will really get those wheels in your mind turning.” Albus says pulling him deeper into the store.
Albus’s vague statement piques Scorpius’s curiosity, and he lets himself be pulled deeper into the store. They quickly find themselves in front of a photo booth and Albus smiles excitedly at him.
Scorpius looks at the photo booth and then turns his gaze to Albus, a mixture of curiosity and excitement on his face.
“A photo booth?” He raised an eyebrow at Albus, a small smirk playing at the corner of his lips. “If you think cameras are interesting just wait and see how this works.” Albus grins.
Scorpius’s curiosity was now fully piqued. “How does it work?” he asks, walking closer to the photo booth and examining it.
Albus lightly pushes him into the booth before following right behind. “Best way to learn is to watch.”
Scorpius stumbles into the booth, surprised by the sudden push, and then turns to watch as Albus closes the curtain behind them and joins him inside the cramped space.
Albus fishes out some spare coins from his pocket and inserts them into the machine. “Okay so there will be a countdown on this screen so make sure you pose before the countdown ends.”
As he inserts the last coin he says one last thing. “I think this machine takes four photos.” Scorpius listened intently as Albus explained to him how the photo booth works. His face lit up at the information, eager to try it out.
“Four photos, got it,” he repeated, nodding his head in understanding. The machine lights up and the boys blink from the extra sudden lights before the countdown appears.
As the countdown appeared on screen, Scorpius felt a sudden sense of urgency. “Albus! We have to make four different poses!” he whispers urgently, slightly panicked by the time limit.
Albus chuckled as he saw Scorpius’s panicked expression. “Relax, Scorp. We have enough time to make four different poses.”
3…
Scorpius places his bag in front of their feet before standing back up.
2…
He glances at Albus as they still aren’t in a pose. His eyes dart around as he tries to think of a pose for them to do.
1…
Scorpius throws himself into Albus as he tightly hugs him. That’s the only thing Scorpius could think of as the countdown was stressing him out.
Albus almost stumbles backwards from the force of Scorpius’s unexpected hug, but he quickly steadies himself and hugs Scorpius back. He grins as he looks down at his boyfriend, thinking that the panicked hug was adorable.
As they sway in the hug and finally get their balance back they turn to face the camera and see in bold letters ‘Thank You! Please collect your photos down below.’
“We’re done already?” Albus asks, surprise evident in his voice. Scorpius grabs the photo card that the machine printed and can’t help but laugh.
As they both look at the photos Albus joins in on the laughing. All four photos were of their singular hug. Each photo was slightly different due to the force Scorpius put behind the hug.
The pictures were all slightly blurry, but captured their hug in various stages. In the first photo, they were both off-balance and stumbling backwards.
In the second, they were just managing to regain their balance. The third picture showed them standing still in a hug, and the final photo captured them looking at each other with such adoration in their eyes.
The pictures were all so candid, so real, and Albus couldn’t help but think that they were perfect. He looked over at Scorpius with a smile, seeing the same adoration in his eyes as in the final photo.

life after - chapter twelve
Green eyes stare back at Albus as he examines himself in the clinical light of the bathroom mirror. Is it written on his face? Could someone tell just by looking at him? He bites his lip and tilts his head, leaning in closer. Is it right there, hiding in the spattering of freckles? Or, more likely, the curve of his mouth when he thinks about Scorpius?
The word has taken to visiting him more frequently now. Tugging on his sleeve, lurking in the corner of the glass. He turns around but it’s never there to face him, it just lingers nearby and haunts his reflection. Occasionally, it’s a little more violent and kicks him in the shin to trip him up, sending him stumbling for purchase. He’s getting used to it, though. This phantom. He thinks they could eventually be friends even.
Maybe.
He frowns. His nervous, freckled face frowns back at him.
If it would just give him time. If it could just accept I know what you are, but I can’t say it for an answer. He’s not stupid or in denial, he’s processing. He’s getting there, and now that he’s off school he has all the time in the world to turn it over in his mind. To mouth that first foreboding syllable.
He thinks of Patrick. Then, of Scorpius. Always of Scorpius.

"As the boys walked through the Hogwarts grounds, he saw it. Or, better, he saw them . Dana, Sofia and Dahlia, practically their entire year in their house, sitting on the grass, close to a tall tree, with a square towel with many treats sitting on top of it.
'What the hell?' Albus asked. 'What is this?', he repeated, now that they got closer to them.
'Oh, welcome, Albus, to the 'Picnic of the Early Hours of the Morning: Birthday Edition'.' Sofia said, showing the food.
'With alcohol!' Dahlia completed for her, raising one bottle of firewhiskey and another of butterbeer.
'I object to that name.' Dana said, cutting a slice of pie for themself.
'Well, I didn’t have time to think of anything else.' Sofia gave up.
As they sat down, making a half circle around the cloth on the ground, Albus looked at Scorpius, trying to hide the smile that persisted on appearing on his lips.
'It took a bit of planning.' Scorpius mentioned. 'Well, last-minute planning, ‘cos we didn’t realise our next Hogsmeade visit would be last week, to, you know, buy the food.'
'Won’t we get in trouble, though?'"
Chapter 3 of We Belong Together is up!
Author's notes:
Hi. It's been a minute, huh. I have some updates, though. I am going through my last week of college. In Brazil we have to do a final essay (usually an article that can be posted in a magazine of sorts in the name of the university), and I decided to do it about Scorbus because I'm that cringe (and free). Somehow, I got a full grade. I've never been this proud about anything I've done, so that was pretty exciting! Also, because I'm graduating and am bound to start working eventually, I'm probably going to actually have time to write and post with more frequency! Hopefully. I expect to post more than one chapter a year (which is how it's been)
I know the name of the chapter is,,, Questionable. But in my defense, in Portuguese it would be "Piquenique da Madrugada: Edição de Aniversário". It's not my fault the English language doesn't have an one word translation for madrugada. Also I'm brazilian and I don't know how british people party, so if it's weird, I'm sorry. This chapter is a shorter one, but I hope you all enjoy it nonetheless. I love writing these Slytherin guys and I hope you like reading about them, too. I have big plans for this fic. I promise to try my hardest to make it as great as I want it to be.

The feminine urge to write an atyd level fic for new gen Harry Potter where the slytherins have their own marauders-esque friend group and scorpius and albus are the main focus ship. UGHHHHH THE URGUE TO WRITE A FATHER SON ARC FOR AL AND HARRY THAT GOES INTO DETAIL ABOUT HARRYS TRAUMA AND HOW IT EFFECTS HIS PARENTING!! The heavy looming weight of the urge to write a strained sibling relationship for James and albus because they are THEE prodigal son and the cursed child.
THE WAY I WOULD WRITE THE PERFECT FRIENDS TO LOVERS FOR SCOR AND AL . the way I would add the best oc who the fandom will fall in love with and regard as canon for years to come UGHHHH

Killing time while I wait for my husband to finally finish work for Christmas, and very in my feels about both Hinny and Drastoria, so here is some Christmas fluff of the Malfoy and Potter families meeting on the Platform at the start Al and Scorpius' first christmas holidays (in which there is no blood curse, because I said so 😤):
Platform Nine and Three-Quarters was in chaos, a great mass of children, carrying owls, cats, and luggage far too big for most of them to safely manage, having descended upon it moments before. The confusion was not helped by the chorus of greetings, the hooting of owls, and the thick smoke billowing from the Hogwarts Express adding to the general mayhem.
“He's there.”
Astoria's gaze followed the direction of Draco’s nod until her sights settled on an identical, though much shorter, pale blond head, struggling against the crowd. She smiled at the sight.
“He looks skinny,” Draco added, frowning.
Astoria rolled her eyes. “He's always been skinny – he grows like someone's cast a stretching jinx on him.”
Draco's frown remained in place, “I knew he wouldn't be wearing a cloak. He's going to freeze to death.”
“Well, thank Merlin you insisted on bringing that, then,” Astoria inclined her head to the scarf clutched in Draco's hand, the concession he'd made to the fur-lined cloak he'd wanted to bring. One that Astoria had only agreed to because she'd also suspected Scorpius’ forward planning would not extend to the weather. “He's coming – don't fuss him in front of his friends, you're going to embarrass him.”
She had no time to press upon Draco the severity of her warning before Scorpius came barrelling out of the steam, grinning broadly. “Hello! Merry Christmas!”
Scorpius’ arms immediately wrapped around Draco's waist. A hug that was not returned only because Draco was preoccupied wrapping the awaiting scarf firmly around Scorpius’ neck and looking extremely unsatisfied about the warmth it would provide.
“Merry Christmas, darling,” Astoria bent to kiss the top of Scorpius’ head.
“How was your first term?” Draco asked. His wand was out now, no doubt casting a silent warming charm.
“It was awesome!” Scorpius declared, a word he'd evidently picked up from his new friends. “They have all these cool plants in the greenhouses and the library is huge – the librarian is the worst though – and Al and I found a secret tunnel that leads to –”
Scorpius stopped speaking abruptly, evidently realising a moment too late that this was not information he wanted his parents to be privy too.
Draco raised a question eyebrow, “...leads to…?”
Scorpius shrugged, “A place.”
Astoria had to cover her mouth with her hand to hide her smile. He had never been a good liar, apparently a few months away from home hadn't improved that.
“Will you come and meet Al?” Scorpius asked suddenly, apparently seizing on a change of subject before any follow up questions could be asked.
Astoria's eyes flew to Draco. He tried and failed to hide the grimace this question brought on. Fortunately, Scorpius was too busy searching the crowd for any sight of his new – and oft-mentioned in his letters home – best friend.
“We'd love to, darling,” Astoria said smoothly. “He's probably busy with his family right now, though.”
Scorpius shook his head. “He told me to come and get you – there he is!”
Astoria followed the direction of his pointed finger, her eyes settling on the family huddled a short way down the platform. A small boy with untidy black hair was pointing in Scorpius’ direction, their stances identical.
Astoria slipped her hand into Draco’s and squeezed. She smiled at Scorpius, “lead the way.”
He was off like a shot, dodging other students and their parents, in his haste to reach Albus.
“This is proof karma is real,” Draco muttered to Astoria, following Scorpius at a much more sedate pace. “I'm not sure what Potter's done to deserve it though.”
Astoria elbowed him gently in the ribs. “This isn't proof of anything. It's not about either of you at all, it’s about the kids.”
Silently Draco nodded. There was very little he would not endure for Scorpius.
They reached the Potters. Scorpius and Al were already chattering excitedly, as though they hadn't just spent eight hours on a train together. Harry Potter's arms were crossed firmly over his chest, his wife was on her tiptoes, whispering furiously into his ear. Astoria wondered if he was receiving the same reminder Draco had just been given.
“Mum, Dad, this is Al,” Scorpius stepped back, waving a hand in front of Albus Potter as though he was a painting Scorpius was especially proud of creating. “Al, this is my mum and dad.”
“It's a pleasure to meet you,” Astoria said, painting a wide smile on her face.
Draco rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. “Hello.”
“I'm Ginny!” Ginny leapt forward, cutting through the awkward silence that threatened to overtake the little group. “I don't believe we've officially met.”
“Astoria, it's lovely to meet you.” Astoria took her outstretched hand and quickly shook it.
“And this is Harry,” It happened quickly, but Astoria could not help but notice Ginny's booted foot quickly step on her husband's shoe.
Harry did not unfold his arms to greet Astoria. He did, however, offer a smile that was quite clearly strained, before his eyes flicked to Draco. “Malfoy.”
Astoria resisted the urge to hide her head in her hands as Draco's mouth formed a thin line that she knew to a casual outsider looked incriminatingly like a sneer, but was actually him trying –and most likely failing – not to fall into a shame spiral she'd spent years pulling him out of. “Potter.”
They stared intensely at one another. Astoria silently wondered if she was going to be forced to hex the head of the Auror Department and her husband in the middle of Platform Nine and Three-Quarters.
Fortunately, Al, who was apparently impervious to the tension unfolding around him, chose that moment to speak, “Dad, can Scorpius come to the Harpies match with us on Boxing Day?”
Harry's eyes finally broke from Draco's. Astoria breathed a sigh of relief. She took the moment of distraction to dig her elbow into Draco's side once again.
“Er,” Harry struggled to find a suitable answer in the face of Scorpius and Albus’ pleading expressions. “He could, but I'm sure he has plans with his own family, Al.”
Scorpius’ head whipped around, staring questionly between Astoria and Draco questioningly.
“We have to go to your Grandparents',” Astoria said apologetically. She didn't know which of the three of them were looking forward to it the least.
Scorpius' face fell.
“You don't have to go,” Draco said quickly, “to your Grandparents' house, I mean. You can go to the match – if Al's parents are sure?”
Harry looked at Ginny. She shrugged. “There'll be plenty of room in the box – and it's hard enough to drag Al to a match usually.”
“Scorpius loves Quidditch,” Al announced, apparently in explanation for his newfound willingness to attend.
Scorpius flashed Al a grin before turning his attention back to Astoria and Draco. “Can Al come to our house too? I want him to meet Artemisia!”
Harry frowned. “Who's Artemisia?”
“She's our hippogriff,” Scorpius explained. Harry and Ginny shared a look of shock that made it clear they were both thinking of one of Draco's worst school-aged transgressions. “Mum looks after loads of them, but Artemisia is special.”
“I'm sorry,” Harry rounded on Draco, not looking very sorry at all. “You have a pet hippogriff?”
Draco cleared his throat awkwardly. “Well, she’s Astoria's hippogriff. She's had her since before we got together. The rest of them, she adopted after we got married, but…”
Draco trailed off, clearly deciding he'd been speaking for too long. Harry was staring at him as though he'd just grown a second head.
“She's very safe,” Astoria said, bringing the conversation back on track. “She loves kids. I'm sure she'd be delighted to meet Al.”
“He could stay over after the match!” Scorpius suggested.
Astoria nodded. Looking to Ginny for confirmation that this was alright, their husband's both seemed to be struggling too much internally to contribute anything further.
“That should be fine. Merlin knows I don't plan to do anything more exciting than eat as much chocolate as physically possible between then and New Year.”
“Oh, that's practically mandatory,” Astoria agreed. “Do you want us to drop Scorpius to you before the match or –”
Ginny nodded. “My brother can probably arrange a Floo connection between our house and Malfoy Manor, he works at the Department of Magical Transportation.”
“We don't live at Malfoy Manor,” Draco cut in, apparently having recovered the ability to speak once more.
“Al has our address,” Scorpius added, making it abundantly clear they'd planned the whole thing already and were asking their parents only as a courtesy.
“Right,” Ginny shook her head, clearly coming to the same conclusion as Astoria. “In that case, we'll see you on Boxing Day, Scorpius – Now, we need to go and find James, his absence is only more concerning the longer it continues for.”
This seemed to shake Harry – who had been staring, puzzled at Draco since the revelation of Artemisia's existence – from his reverie. “I'll go find him. It was nice to meet you, Scorpius.”
“We need to go as well,” Astoria said even as Draco tucked him securely under his arm. “Have a lovely Christmas,” she added, smiling from Ginny to Al.
“You too,” Ginny grabbed both of Al's shoulders, spinning him to face the opposite direction. “Go and get your sister, she's talking Hugo's ear off.”
Al waved enthusiastically at Scorpius before disappearing into the crowd.
Draco wasted no more time, guiding Scorpius and Astoria towards the barrier that marked the exit of the platform.
“Dad, can we go to Diagon Alley and get some chocolate frogs? They're Al's favourite.”
“You want to go to Diagon Alley on the Saturday before Christmas?” Draco's tone made it clear he thought this was a horrifying idea.
Scorpius nodded, apparently unconcerned. Astoria leant closer to him, speaking quietly enough to only be audible to Draco. “Pick up more wine while you're there. I'll need it to endure your mother's reaction when she learns she's not seeing Scorpius for Christmas because he's with Harry Potter's son.”
Draco shook his head. “Wine won't be strong enough.” He smiled at Scorpius who was still happily chattering away about the plans he had for Al's visit. “He looks happy though.”

building up like waves
Tumblr media
In the throes of their Sixth Year, every single night, without fail, Albus dreams of Scorpius. He wants to pretend it means nothing, but it's them. It always means something. Or, a tale told across nine months; the one where Albus comes out.
It’s a wistfully warm September morning when the prettiest boy in the world – not that he’s keeping track, of course, that’d be strange – looks at Albus and says, with a cadence so sweet it almost tastes like honey, “Your tie is crooked.”
Albus sets down his triangle of toast and drags a napkin over the outline of his lips before he looks up at Scorpius, sitting on the opposite side of the table, all starry ocean eyes and a decidedly not crooked tie.
“Why are you looking at my tie?” Albus asks, making a bit of a pedantic faff of the way he loosens the article and readjusts his best attempt at a Windsor knot until he’s certain it’ll pass the standards of the professors he’s to walk past in the corridors.
Scorpius shrugs. Smiles. It does something astonishing to his cheeks, digging into the softness of his skin some sort of treasure trove and leaves a triad of smile lines on either side of his lips. Like water ripples, a rivulet disturbed by a hapless toss of a pebble. Fleeting in appearance but, Albus will testify, real.

Checking You Out | Albus Potter x Scorpius Malfoy Oneshot
Tumblr media
Albus has been observing the blonde haired man for weeks ever since his schedule got changed.
This was mainly due to the fact he was unsure of how to approach Scorpius, so he would keep himself busy at work and keep glancing over at the boy whenever he wasn't dealing with other library patrons.
Albus can't help but get distracted anytime Scorpius is within his sight. His coworker keeps telling him that he should go up and talk to him, but Albus always gets too anxious to do so.
The most they ever talk is when Albus is lucky enough to be the one checking people’s books out. Even then he mainly stays quiet in fear that he’ll fumble over his words.
Albus feels bad for not being talkative. Especially on the days Scorpius tries to engage in light conversation, asking him about any books he recommends, the weather, and even about work.
The library’s doorbell jingles, pulling him out of his over complicated thoughts as he turns his head towards the door and notices Scorpius walk in.
Albus gets all flustered at the sight of him. He can barely breathe as he watches him walk inside, a bit nervous about talking to him. He's never been good with talking to people, especially when it comes to people he likes.
He just stays behind the desk, hoping that he doesn't have to talk to any other patrons so he can keep an eye on Scorpius.
Today was a lucky day for Albus for two reasons. First was the fast that today was a slow day for the library. Second, he’s working at the counter today which means he’ll get another interaction with Scorpius.
Albus takes a deep breath and waits for Scorpius to come up to the counter. He can feel the heat rising to his cheeks and the nerves in his stomach as he waits for him to get there.
He can hear the sound of footsteps approaching, and soon he spots Scorpius walking over to him. He feels his heart beating faster, but he tries to stay calm before he greets him.
As Scorpius gently places the books he collected on the counter Albus can’t help but stare at him. This guy is hot. Really really hot. Albus can’t help thinking to himself.
The more Albus looks at him, the more he begins to think to himself that this is the most attractive person he has seen in his life. He can't help but notice every little detail about him, from his piercing grey eyes, to his blonde hair, and even his hands.
Albus is getting so lost in thought that he barely realizes that Scorpius has said something.
"What was that?" he asks quietly, shaking himself out of his thoughts. He clears his throat a few times, trying to calm his nerves before returning his gaze up onto Scorpius.
“Are you checking me out?” Scorpius asks the librarian while taking a mental note of his name on his name tag.
“Huh?” Albus’s face immediately turns red. “Oh no, no I’m not. Nope definitely not.” He begins to tap his fingers on the counter nervously.
“Oh? I always return my books on time. Is there a specific reason I can’t check these out today?” He asks clueless.
"Oh no, no no it's not that.” Albus stammers, his face still flustered. “It's just... uh, it's just that…” his voice trails off as he thinks of what he’s even trying to say.
“I just…” he stops talking as he finds it hard to finish his sentence. “I’m so sorry. I um- I made a mistake. You’re all good to check these out today.”
Scorpius gives him a smile as Albus begins to quickly scan all of his books. “Thank you Albus.” After collecting all of his books in his hands Scorpius adds one last thing before leaving the library.
“Too bad you weren’t checking me out, I thought you were cute.” As he walks out all Albus can do is stare at him with a flushed face.
Albus's face turns red as he realizes what Scorpius had said. “Wait, what?” he manages to get out, but he's too slow to catch him.
He can only stand there, his face still flushed with embarrassment. But as he watches him leave, he can't help but feel a bit of a silly, dumb grin on his lips.
Luck must have been on his side however because as he looks back down at the counter he notices a small piece of paper with a number and name on it. Scorpius’s name and number.
Now today was a lucky day for three reasons.

life after cut scene
I’ve been working away at the next life after chapter whenever I’ve got the time/energy and came across this snippet I’m pretty proud of!! unfortunately I don’t think it’s going to fit in the chapter in the context I’ve written it in (hopefully I’ll rework it into something later!!) but thought I’d share it anyway! scorbus are the romione stans of all time <3
“They’re sweet,” Scorpius whispers, head lulling towards his shoulder again. “I hope they’re in love in all the other universes, too.” He’s thinking of Uncle Ron and Aunt Hermione, Albus is sure of it. He recognises that specific kind of wistful. He’s heard Scorpius’s stories from his three days in Voldemort’s world. He remembers them lying in silence the first time they’d been alone together after returning from Godric’s Hollow. Separate beds but the weight of what they’d just lived through choking them both all the same. Albus had been staring blankly up at the ceiling, eyes unfocussed and thoughts ricocheting like bombs around his mind, while the tension between the pair of them came steadily to the boil. “Are we going to talk about it?” Scorpius had whispered eventually, and Albus had flinched as if he’d been shot. In the resulting silence, Scorpius had pleaded, “Albus.” “I don’t think I can.”
It was a shameful confession, but it was the truth and he owed Scorpius that much. He hadn’t been to see Craig at that point and the guilt of it all was eating him alive, rotting his flesh and consuming all his senses. He spent a lot of time sleeping, trying to avoid consciousness because being awake meant being aware, but without an outlet his dreams were quickly invaded, and the nightmares started with devastating intensity.
“Okay.” Scorpius’s voice was small, retreating back inwards, but it wasn’t Albus’s desire to silence him. In all their years of friendship, Scorpius’s frequent rambles and long-winded rants were never something Albus wanted to put a stop to. It was probably more revealing than he’d realised at the time, the desperate way he hung onto every word that fell from Scorpius’s lips, every sentence, stutter, and stumble. “Will you tell me something nice?” he asked instead. Anything to distract him from the shadow inside him expanding like an oil spill, dark and suffocating. Scorpius had hummed, and then in his own very clever way, managed to fulfil both their desires without compromising their delicate states. “Your Aunt Hermione and Uncle Ron are really in love.” He’d said, surprising the breath out of Albus. “I think we could have gone to every universe imaginable and never have found one where they didn’t love each other. It’s nice to know that love like that exists.” He’d cleared his throat then and corrected himself, “Still exists.” Astoria. “I’m sorry,” the words were out of his mouth before he could stop them. It was all he’d been saying for days. “It’s okay,” Scorpius had reassured him, “it’s a nice thing. That they love each other like that. I’m glad they’re happy here. They deserve it. They deserve it in every universe, but I’m glad they have it in this one. I think it’s really special.” “It is.” Albus had agreed. It was true, his Uncle Ron and Aunt Hermione loved each other something fierce, but there was also an eternal kind of youthfulness to it that always struck Albus as particularly sincere. It was in the way Ron chased her around at their family dinners, the way Hermione would swat him with a tea towel, a book, anything she had in her hands, and the way he’d catch it and pull her in for a kiss, both giggling. Albus would avert his eyes and Rose would groan, but it hardly mattered. They weren’t doing it for anyone but themselves. “They’re getting married again, you know.” Scorpius had made a delighted sound that Albus wanted to evoke in him forever. “Really?” “I overheard them talking about it outside of the Hospital room while we were getting checked up. I don’t think they’ve said anything yet, but they’re going to do some ceremony, I think.” “Marriage renewal.” Scorpius hummed. He sounded out the words like they were some relaxing incantation, Albus could hear the smile in his voice. “That’s romantic.” “Do you want to come?” Albus had asked then, inspired by his wistful sigh. “I mean, I don’t know any of the details or even if they’ll be having guests, but if they do, would you like to come?” “With you?” “Yeah,” he had swallowed, pushing down his fear that he was spoiling it already with this unspoken thing welling up inside him that wanted to hold Scorpius’s hand, “with me.” “I think that would be the nicest thing of all.” Back in the train carriage, Albus watches Scorpius watch Yann and Polly and feels that same flowery feeling blooming in his chest. “I hope they are too.”

with the dew, my golden hair | scorpius/albus
Rated E | 1.1k | Kinkuary day 9: Hair pulling Tags: Hurt/comfort, minor D/s elements, porn with feelings, hair pulling, intercrural sex, coming untouched, Scorbus are so in love, Albus is obsessed with Scorpius's hair, mentions of fighting parents/unhappy home situation Thank you so much to @getawayfox for the beta!!
Albus has been obsessed with Scorpius’s hair from the very first moment they met.
Seven years ago, now. A flash of flaxen-gold on the King’s Cross platform. A bright spot in a sea of grubby brown bricks, steel tracks, black school robes.
That’s what Scorpius is to him. A beacon. A bright light calling to him, dragging him to safety from a life of dull greys. Of bitter greens and angry reds, the riot of ugly colours that surround him at home.
Scorpius is Albus’s peace.
