School of Economics - RV University
Learning at the School of Economics at RV University focuses on holistic education that creates critical thinking individuals with strong disciplinary understanding, broad perspective of issues and problems gained through multiple lenses, and hands-on experiences and skills to take on challenges and solve problems at the workplace and in real life. The School strives to provide a space where students are able to pursue their interests, satisfy their curiosities and excel in any field they choose. To facilitate such an education, the curriculum at SOE balances theoretical courses with courses that are based on practical applications, skills, and experiential learning. Students get the freedom to choose courses from within and outside of their disciplinary boundaries, and specialise in areas of their choice. Students are encouraged to take up research, projects and self-study to stimulate their critical and analytical abilities and become independent thinkers and practitioners.

Study Trick That No One Told Me.
Division of subjects:
Every subject is learnt and graded in a different way. You can't use the same study techniques for every subject you have. You have mostly 3 types of subjects:
Memorization based
Practical/Question based
Theory/Essay based
Memorization based:
Mostly Biology, Sciences, Geography etc are fully based on memorization and so you'll use memory study techniques like flash cards and active recall.
Practical/Question based:
Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Accountancy etc are practice subjects. The more you do your questions and understand how a sum is done, the better you can score.
Theory/Essay based:
English, history, business studies etc are theory based. The more you write, the way you write and the keywords you use are the only things that will get you your grades. So learn the formats and the structure on how to write your answers
Note: Some subjects are a combination of the three. Like Economics etc
The reason we divide the subjects is because you can adopt the right study methods for the right subject. Like ex: business studies is mostly based on how you write your answer and the keywords, if you're gonna spend your time memorizing in this, it's a waste of time and energy.
Hope this helps :)

Should DCRs be legalised in Scotland?
Hi everyone, I am currently completing my master's in Public Policy and was hoping to ask anyone who is Scottish or a resident (lived here for 3+ years) to fill out my 3-question survey on the introduction of Drug Consumption Rooms in Scotland. Currently struggling for numbers so would so appreciate it! No prior knowledge is needed and shouldn't take more than 5 mins. Please feel free to share with friends/family, the more the merrier - Thank you so much!

So I had to look up what it meant to get a 3rd in PPE (since that is apparantly the degree the original Elias Bouchard graduated with) but now I'm flabbergasted by the UK university level grading system (if I'm understanding it correctly). Do you mean to tell me that the highest level of honors degree only requires 70%??

I like to think that when the batfamily inevitably runs out of money and jobless Bruce, Tim, and Dick* find themselves in financial need, Steph reveals that she's made thousands of dollars taking odd jobs around Gotham City that we just never saw bc Steph hasn't been in a comic for months. Nobody checked in on her and while they weren't looking she made 6 grand babysitting and playing piano at a local theatre. Bruce has to grovel for enough money to buff out a scratch on the batmobile and Steph is revelling in it. This is the closest she's ever going to get to being a supervillain
*(Cass and Jason don't need money to survive on account of being homeless as kids + Babs funds Cass' basic needs and Damian is on his mom's payroll, same w/ duke even if it's obvs not al ghul money)

Sliiightly unrelated, and I absolutely don’t mean this condescendingly (and I don’t mean to keep bothering you either, feel free to ignore ofc) — I’m just in the dark. When you say ‘Trade work’ and ‘learn a trade’… what do you mean by a trade? The only thing that comes to mind with ‘trade’ is being a plumber, woodworker, etc but I’m pretty sure that’s not what you meant ahejdydj
It is! Due to the push for young people to go to college and get jobs that utilize those degrees, the United States has actually seen a concerning decrease across the decades of people who are qualified to do trade work such as plumbers and electricians, etc. As a result, the population in those trades is aging quickly, and we are anticipating that there won't be enough people to do those jobs very soon. A lot of them are nearing retirement age. Thanks to that demographic shift, young people entering those trades are a very high demand, and in many areas, the pay for such a job can be like 50,000 a year, which can be a solid living wage on par with something like teaching. And in most cases, the apprenticeships are paid, which is definitely a consideration for people who don't want to deal with student loans.
@thisarenotarealblog, any input?

So if idk lets say Argentina actually all in full dollarization, would that be, like, deflationary in the US? Like it's a sudden increase in demand for dollars without any real increase in supply, right?
Or is 'have a bunch of your savings/investments in USD' such universal conventional wisdom that the effect's already priced in here?

Answer for how long (after graduation/after stopping) it was until you no longer had any student debt, regardless of how you achieved that– including if any of it was cancelled or forgiven, or you had outside help paying it off (e.g. your parents or partner helped).

The trilemma of fast, good, and cheap: you may attain two of these properties, but probably not all three. If it is fast and good, it probably won't be cheap. If it is good and cheap, it probably won't be fast. If it is cheap and fast, it probably won't be good.
Bonus: The concept of "cheap" is context-dependent and may not necessarily pertain to a thing's monetary cost.

found my old notebook and read all the weird logs I wrote in there in the vernacular. one of them was our Home Economics cooking class last year-
'M DYING, HERE'S SOME OF THEM AS ACE ATTORNEY CHARACTERS (NOT word for word as in the notebook bc i don't have it rn and also I'm translating):
Apollo: I DO NOT CARE, YOU DO NOT CUT THE CRUST, OFF THE BREAD!!!
----
Pearl: *makes mango juice with evaporated milk for the first time in my life*
Phoenix: does it taste good?
Pearl: I-I DON'T KNOW!
Maya: We need a taste-tester. *side-eyes Phoenix*
Phoenix: *sighs and drinks in the other room*
Phoenix: It's okay.
Phoenix: *gags it back out*
----
Phoenix: Does it taste good now? *drinks*
Phoenix: *gags again*
----
Trucy: *drinks mango milk juice* iT TASTES LIKE BREAST MILK.
Apollo: How do you remember what it tastes like?
everyone else: *slightly suspicious staring*
----
Edgeworth: LARRY PROTECT THESE SANDWICHES WITH YOUR LIFE *goes across room to cook more eggs*
Larry: *keeps face within 2 inches of sandwiches*
Phoenix: he said protect them with your life, not infect them with your germs.
----
Trucy: look at (classmate who complained about cutting the bread's crust off) being emo over there.
*cut to Apollo looking over the balcony outside broodingly*
----
Larry: WHY WON'T YOU GUYS SHARE YOUR MANGO JUICE?! THE OTHERS LET ME EAT THEIR SANDWICHES!
Phoenix: *pats his shoulder* They probably thought you were a homeless man.
Edgeworth: *pipes up from behind them* He's right, you know.
