when sirius and james accidentally find out about regulus’ crush on james, sirius makes the mistake of assuming him and james are on the same page and tells him he trusts him to do the right thing (ie let regulus down easy) james misinterprets this as sirius trusting him to never do anything that could hurt regulus and starts planning the wedding

OHhhhhh wait, AU where Sirius doesn’t go to Azkaban and DOES get custody of Harry right away, but the first few weeks, Harry is just inconsolable. Wasn’t a colicky or fussy baby, but since his parents’ murder, he asks for them constantly and wails when they don’t come.

And Sirius, trying to hold it together, tells him, “I know, I know, I know… I’m sorry, I’m so sorry...”

i think one of my hottest jegulus takes is that james DOES NOT get jealous. like at all. he’s just too confident for that. he thinks its hilarious when other people flirt with regulus, cus its all in good fun and he is so confident in his deepest soul that he is reg’s favorite. he and sirius watch moonwater interactions from afar and he giggles while sirius absolutely seethes

Gryffindor just won the cup. Regulus would rather be dead than up there in Gryffindor tower celebrating with Gryffindors. Ew. But James convinced him that a good boyfriend had to be by his boyfriend's side no matter if the game was against Slytherin. It also doesn't matter that Regulus caught the Golden Snitch and Slytherin still lost because Slytherin's team only has incompetents.

Regulus: I thought Sirius liked Remus

James: Pads loves Moony, but he doesn't know it yet... but I think he's almost realizing it

Regulus: I think my brother is more of an idiot than you think

The two look on as Remus watches the scene. Regulus thinks you can see the exact moment Remus' heart breaks. Regulus also thinks there are things more unfair than catching the Golden Snitch and still losing the cup.
