“Is there a mall or something nearby?”

“A m— Jack, we’re in the middle of the woods. Berk barely has a general store.”

“You know those like — tall box thingys? You take pictures in them?” Jack says, and Hiccup knows he’s frustrated with himself for not finding the right words. Nobody’s memory is perfect after hundreds of years of floating. The photo in Hiccup’s hand flutters with the ocean breeze, threatening to tear out of his grasp and fly away. This could help with that.

“Oh,” Hiccup blinks, “a photobooth?”

Jack snaps his fingers. “Yes! That!”

“I dunno, I doubt there’s any in this county, let alone—” Hiccup feels Jack’s grip switch from his shoulders to a more firm hug under his arms. The wind picks up, pulling at his jacket, lifting the heel of his boot - and Hiccup shoves the photo of Jack in his pocket. “Wait—!”

“Wind!” Jack crows, and Hiccup can hear his puckish grin.

They take off into the sky.

I felt like it was time to come out of my cave and draw some Rise of the Guardians fanart for the first time in nearly 4 years, but of course I had to make it a redraw of something I did 9 years ago.

It felt so cathartic and good getting to drawing some RotG again, and it brought me back to that place in my life when I was absolutely obsessed with this movie (and universe).

Its also nice to see how far I've come with my art in the last 9 years. I'm very proud of myself, and I'm finally making the quality kind of art that I desperately wanted to be making 9 years ago but I just wasn't at that skill level yet (if 20 year old me could see me now!)

I still adore this ship to the moon and back, though. Who knows, maybe I'll draw some more! Even if I don't, this was so much fun to do! I tried to make the redraw look more "vintage" and referenced some vintage Christmas cards for the look. I also did my own little spin on Pitch (I really wish they incorporated some sort of gold into his design like they did with some of the concept art, so I gave him an earring and pointy ears. Artistic interpretation and all that).

found my ancient mp3 player recently. finally found a charger for it and plugged it in. and remembered i found a yt playlist of the whole httyd movie chopped up into like 20 videos and i downloaded the mp3s of all of them to listen to on the school bus. which is why i can effortlessly quote the whole first movie now

Do you think Frosty the snowman comes alive with magic that comes from Santa Claus? Or Jack Frost? Or other?

imo I think Jack Frost (bc his name is literally Frosty) but then I just picture Martin Short as Jack Frost bringing a snowman to life and either he is really lonely OR MY FAVORITE THEORY Frosty the snowman is part of some greater evil plan to take down Christmas that Jack Frost is working on. Just imagine… Frosty has to keep getting melted/dehatted like the Winter Soldier when he’s brain wiped/on ice because he keeps making friends with neighborhood kids and iT’S HOLDING UP THE MISSION, YOU DIRTY SNOWCONE.

i'm thinking about the persona 3 remake again and i keep getting more & more bummed out that they aren't including kotone, especially bc i'd really love to see the femc-specific events w/ junpei now that zeno robinson is slated to voice him. like am i even gonna be able to go to the summer festival with him now? this is such bullshit, absolute bullshit.
