Chapter Seven is officially in the works. The proof is below. It feels good to be writing again.

Once, there had been a city. Vibrant. True. Full of a future that was unfolding so rapidly that it was breathtaking to behold. The lanterns stood bright in a sea of fresh eyes, a beacon for all that were lost.  Most of those lanterns were gone. Broken and buried beneath the sand. They died with most of the ancients the day the walls fell and the market rose to the tops of the mountain peaks. I could see it. Hear the screaming. The death toll rose and rose and the lantern shined through the entire time. Then, when the world had ended, the survivors had walked forward and made a home. 

But the beacon was broken now. A cornerstone of the world had ruptured, shattered bits of it on the ground.  And no matter how many times someone gathered all the pieces together, nothing ever fit together quite right again. In fact, with each attempt, the lantern broke a little more.

The boy cowers, teeth bared in a hiss and four eyes moon wide and glassy where they peek out of a crevice between two large slabs of stone. Four arms are slung tightly around his body in a heartbreaking attempt at self soothing, and sharp nails are digging crescents into the thin skin stretched over protruding ribs.

The kid is terrified. And hurt. And starving.

Yuji lowers himself into a crouch, hands splayed on his knees to assure he’s holding neither chains nor weapons, and attempts a smile.

“They’re gone now, I promise. You can come out.”

“Go away!” Sukuna—the child—rasps, “Or- I’ll eat you!“

When she looked out of the carriage at church, Ginny saw Harry walk inside, looking rather upset. She got out of the carriage before the rest.

“What happened?” she asked Charlie.

He straightened his jacket. “Mr Corner came by—we assumed for well wishes—and they had some words.”

“Which words?”

Charlie looked over at Ron uneasily.

“Which words?”

Ron kissed Rose’s head and walked over to Ginny. “Mr Corner told Potter that you would never be faithful to him.”

“That is not too bad.” She sighed in relief. “Mr Corner is an idiot.”

“There was more.” Ron shook his head. “Corner then said that you were soulmates and you were simply fickle and young. You will see sense soon.”

Ginny breathed out. “Great.”

“Lord Potter may have threatened him.”

She winced.

“And then… Mr Corner made a comment about your body, and Lord Potter tried to punch him,” Ron continued. “I stopped him, told him it was bad luck for his wedding.”

“Oh, good.”

“So I punched him instead.” Ron smiled at her.

It was a beautiful afternoon at the Troll Tree, and in Grandma Rosiepuff's Pod, Baby Branch and his young buddies Hype, Ablaze, Trickee, and Boom were having their playdate in the living room, working on their brand new song that they just came up with twenty minutes ago.

"Are you guys ready for this?" Baby Branch asked.

Ablaze, who fixed up his bold, red hair, nodded at him. "Ready!"

Boom did a few jumping jacks while nodding. "I'm ready steady. Or is it steady ready? I'm super-duper ready!"

Trickee let out a shy smile and nodded too. "I think so. I think that we got it down now."

"Hype? Are you ready?" Baby Branch asked.

Hype, who was Baby Branch's closest best friend, sucked on a blue pacifier. Once he stopped, he put his pacifier in his hair.

"I'm ready! I'm super excited to do this!! Let's start, let's start!! When are we going to start? I'm ready-steady, bestie!!" Hype said, jumping.

Ablaze, Hype, Boom, and Trickee whistled in unison. Baby Branch crawled towards the radio and pushed the "play button". He smiled at his buddies who smiled at him back while whistling. Baby Branch started singing along with his friends next while dancing. - - - What do you guys think?
