Summer was relentless.

It was like the world was getting hotter every year, because you were pretty sure that you didn’t feel like you were going to get burns on your feet just from walking around in your house a few years ago.

Sirius found it amusing to hear you swear to yourself once in a while and complain about the heat radiating off the walls of your shared home. The scrunch of your eyebrows and the way your lip set in a slightly curving pout was adorable to him.

But that wasn’t the only reasons why he enjoyed the times when you get worked up like this.

The long-haired boy liked it because you would change your dressing style at home to accommodate the heat and make sure your body doesn’t feel too warm.

Your usual baggy, long-sleeved style was replaced with tank tops and shorts that left little to his imagination. It was one of the only times you didn’t care about how much skin you were displaying, more focused on keeping yourself from overheating.

You were rummaging around the kitchen one late afternoon, trying to find ice for your beverage. Not even the cold that it got from being in the fridge was enough for you.

Sirius was laying down in your shared bedroom, the air conditioner working overtime to keep the room chilly enough to keep you comfortable. He was already buried under the comforter and an extra blanket and yet he was still shivering a little. How were you this warm-blooded?

"Siri!" You called, voice muffled from the walls, but it reached Sirius's ears nonetheless. He pulled the covers off of him and walked towards the door. He opened it to be greeted by a rush of heat.

"Close it quickly, you'll let the cold out," you said, focused on your task in the kitchen. It was mid afternoon, and the sun was merciless with its bright and hot rays breaking through the windows.

He soft and fond laugh escaped his lips, but he followed your wishes and shut the door gently behind him.

"You hollered for me love?" He said, turning to look at you before stopping in your tracks.

You didn't have a shirt on. (If you have a bra, then you're wearing a sports bra still btw <3)

Your back was exposed to him, showing off the curve of your spine and the contours of your back.

"You want some watermelon?" You asked, still not turning to look at him. "I found some earlier today in the market and left them in the fridge, so now they're cold."

You finally looked over your shoulder when you didn't get a response, only to roll your eyes when you saw Sirius's dumbstruck expression.

"What? It's hot!" You said defensively, putting down your knife and angling your body to properly face him.

He grinned, approaching you and examining your body (as if it wasn't anything he hasn't seen before). "You're hot, babe."

You rolled your eyes again, but a smile slipped past your façade. "Suree..."

Sirius put his hands on your hips, dragging them up your sides and to your shoulders. You shivered slightly from the cold that lingered on his pale fingers.

"We can just have the watermelon later," he murmured, leaning in and placing a kiss on the crook of your neck that was coated in a light sheen of sweat, making you laugh and push him away. "Sirius I'm sweaty!"

"So?" Sirius shrugged, pulling you closer still. "It's not something I haven't dealt with."

You swat his arm, turning around and focusing back on your fruit, but it was hard when Sirius molded his chest into your back, placing kisses on shoulder, neck, and the higher part of your back.

"Sirius, I want to have fruit," You said, voice slightly whiny.

Sirius groaned. "Fineee, but we're definitely gonna do something about this when we're done."

He pressed his hips against you and you gasped when you felt something against you, shoving him away with another laugh. "Sirius Black, you horny man!"

"Only for you, m'love," he said cheekily, winking.

You did end up happily eating your fruit. And helping Sirius with his little (not really little) problem as well.

Morty was excited about the color-themed mukbang video somebody had suggested. Purple was the request, and he'd gone to Dollar Tree to see what he could find before hitting the grocery store for some nicer foods. Some of it was candy and other snacks that needed only to be removed from the package, some required cooking or at least some level of prep work, but once he had his purple assortment of treats ready and laid out in an eye-catching presentation, he was pretty pleased with himself.

He silently held up the first item--a blueberry milkshake--and took a sip. He'd picked it up from a local burger place just before starting, and he made sure to show the logo on the cup. Accompanying the shake as a secondary beverage, he revealed with a grimace, was a can of grape soda. He carefully cracked it open, taking a moment to let the fizz crackle softly beside the mic before taking a reluctant sip. He'd always felt that grape was the worst of the artificial fruit flavors--watermelon, he believed, was the best--but it was purple, and that was all that mattered right now. Besides, he'd have plenty of snacks between sips to wipe the taste from his mouth.

The first food he had to share was a small plate of grilled eggplant slices. He smiled proudly as he displayed them; he'd cooked them himself, and the one he'd taste tested before starting was just about the best eggplant he'd ever had, not that there was much competition. He held up a slice to show off the ring of deep indigo skin, then took a bite. They weren't particularly hot anymore, but they were still good, if a little mushy. He set the plate back down, intending to show each food before really getting started. Accompanying the eggplant in the vegetable department was a bowl of mashed purple potatoes. He hadn't actually bought those for the video; he'd picked them up at a farm market last week by pure chance, and his belly rumbled at the steamy, buttery smell. Unable to resist, he took a bite of them too before returning the bowl to the table.

Following the vegetables, he had a cutting board with an arrangement of grapes, mulberries, a few figs, and a couple of plums on it. He doubted he'd eat more than one of the plums during the video, but the visual looked nice. The mulberries had been a gift from his neighbor, who had more falling from their tree than they knew what to do with. Most of them looked more black than purple, but it was close enough.

The final group of food was the one he was most excited about--the desserts. He had a package of ube mochi, a dish of purple M&Ms he'd ordered online, a stick of purple rock candy, a row of purple Peeps, and, least excitingly, a bowl of grape jello. It was a fine variety. The star of the show, however, was a cupcake he'd bought from a local bakery. It was bright purple, with a blueberry jam filling and a nice swirl of purple frosting on top, and pieces of molded chocolate stuck on to make it look like a unicorn. The rainbow sprinkles, he supposed, wouldn't disqualify it when the rest of the treat had enough purple food coloring in it to dye his entire kitchen.

Morty took another long sip of the milkshake, then returned to his vegetables, wanting to start on them before they cooled off completely. Eggplant was something he rarely ate, both because it never impressed him any time he tried it and because it simply never occurred to him to get some, but he was pretty pleased with today's result. The slices were well-seasoned and flavorful, and he almost wished he'd made more of them, although with the amount of food he had to get through, he supposed it was a good thing he didn't. He alternated between eggplant slices and mashed potatoes for a little bit, taking care to eat slowly over the mic and not shovel everything into his mouth as fast as he could--he was starting on an empty stomach, after all, and his rumbling belly couldn't have cared less about ASMR.

Wanting to save some of the vegetables for later on in the video, Morty took a big gulp of the grape soda and switched over to the fruit. He'd never eaten a fig before, but Google had kindly informed him that he could simply bite into it skin and all, and so he did, nice and slowly, hoping to capture the sound as his teeth punctured it. He wasn't sure if he loved it, but it was good enough to draw him in for another bite, and then another. After the first fig he ate a grape and then a mulberry, crushing them slowly in his mouth. The hunger he'd started the video with was beginning to ease up as he ate, and now he felt like he could really take his time without forcing himself to, both to savor the food and to see what interesting sounds he could get out of it.

Finally, he turned to the sweets. He'd been eager to break into the mochi since he'd bought it, and he let out a soft little hum of pleasure at the sweet, gooey texture. His belly gurgled quietly as he swallowed, and he wondered whether the mic picked it up. If it didn't get that one, he was sure there would be louder sounds before long, but he didn't really care. He was aware at this point that some of his viewers went wild for it, but that fact didn't bother him any. It was inevitable anyway, eating on camera with that sensitive mic. He held up the half-eaten mochi to show off the sticky purple interior, then happily finished off the piece.

Morty alternated between the fruits, vegetables, and sweets, nibbling at one or two things for a little while before switching over to another, but the cupcake remained untouched--that was going to be dessert. Slowly but surely, he was beginning to feel full, the bulky potatoes and doughy mochi taking up a good amount of space in his belly. The heavy milkshake was doing its part as well, and between the carbonation of the soda and all the air that wound up trapped in his stomach with each carefully calibrated bite, it was becoming difficult to keep from burping into the mic. He'd had to turn away here and there to let a few tiny ones out, but he hoped nothing loud would slip out of him.

Trying to pace himself, Morty took a break from chewing to work on the rock candy. His belly gurgled as its contents settled, and sucking at the candy provoked several more soft little grumbly noises. His stomach felt snug under his baggy sweater. He supposed he might have gone a little overboard picking things out for the video, but it was alright. If he had leftovers, he'd simply get to them another time. He wanted to finish as much as he could, though, for the sake of a good long video. It was a good variety of textures to create a nice array of sounds, and he didn't want the length to fall short.

Morty looked down at the assortment of food before him, pondering what to pick up next. He'd gotten through a decent portion of everything by now, with the eggplant and potatoes being completely gone and the mulberries not far behind. The grape jello, not particularly aligning with his tastes, was the least disturbed, and he decided to give it some more attention. He didn't care for the flavor, but at least he could play around with it while he ate. He put away the rest of it fairly quickly and chased it with a good long sip of milkshake. Following that sip, to his surprise, came an audible, airy burp. Ordinarily, he'd excuse himself or apologize, but this was a no-talking video, so he just smiled sheepishly and moved on. If it was too loud, he'd edit it out later. Otherwise, it was what it was.

The jello had gone down easy, but Morty suddenly felt more bloated than ever after finishing it off so quickly. He was a little guy, small and slender, and while his capacity was bigger than one might guess by looking at him, the estimate likely wouldn't be far off. He leaned back in his chair for a moment, resting a hand on his belly with a soft sigh. It felt taut and rounded under his hand, and it grumbled away quietly as it worked on the strange combination of things he'd eaten. A loud gurgle rose up and he just barely managed to stifle another big burp. With the pressure in his stomach slightly lessened, he picked up a Peep, licked off a little bit of the sugar, and then playfully bit its head off.

Not sure how much more he could eat, he decided to prioritize the mochi next. It was one of his favorites of the things he'd put together, but while the fruits would be easy to nibble on as he got fuller, the thick, gooey dough would not. He had two pieces left in the package, and he slowly worked through them both, stretching and squishing a half-eaten piece around as he chewed. It was delicious, but it was rich and heavy, and, reluctantly, he took a careful sip of his soda between bites to break things up a little. Repulsive as it was, the carbonation was refreshing, and it conjured up another quiet burp.

To say space was running low in Morty's stomach would have been an understatement at this point; he was stuffed. With the amount of purple food packed into his belly, he was surprised he hadn't started turning purple himself yet. His belly was as tight and round as the large, firm grapes he'd been eating, and the noises it made as it digested everything would have made a good enough video on their own. He paused again, holding both hands against his tummy. If he wanted to feature that glorious unicorn cupcake, he'd have to quit on everything else now. He'd made pretty good progress, considering the contrast between the amount of food he'd started with and the size of his slim stomach; there was only a little bit left on the table before him, and it would make a good snack some other time. Right now, though, it was time for the grand finale.

With a playful flair, Morty held up the cupcake. It was impressive both in size and appearance, with its colorful sprinkles, the little chocolate unicorn ears and horn stuck into the frosting, and the unnaturally vibrant color of the cake itself. He knew the chocolate pieces would make the best sounds, and he knew that's what most viewers would be waiting for, but he decided to tease a little and lick at the frosting first. It was fluffy and almost too sweet, and there was an absurd amount of it. He took a few licks from it, almost as though it were an ice cream cone, and then, finally, he took one of the chocolate ears in his teeth and crunched down on it.

The cupcake was surprisingly good--he'd expected it to be the sort of disgustingly-sweet thing that only small children could tolerate--and he regretted that he was too stuffed to really enjoy it. It would have been fantastic on an empty stomach, but as full as he was right now, the sugary treat was only making him feel queasy. He worked at it slowly, taking sips of the soda here and there in search of some element of refreshment between mouthfuls of sticky sugar. He was beyond stuffed now, his belly straining and aching and begging him to stop, but he was determined to at least finish the cupcake. It would be a mangled mess if he tried to save part of it, and after all, he was here to put on a show.

He spent what felt like ages nibbling at the cupcake, dragging it out with tiny bites and licks, his stomach groaning uncomfortably with each little swallow. He imagined his belly must be sticking out a foot in front of him by now, although in reality it was barely even visible under his oversized sweater. Still, it felt tighter than tight, crammed so full that it ached just to breathe in, and he was beginning to doubt that he could get through the entire dessert. There wasn't much to go, though, and he was going to give it his best effort. He sighed, pausing to force up a sickly little burp, and pushed on.

Little by little, slowly but surely, he worked through the cupcake, and finally, at long last, it was gone. He swallowed the final bite with a thick gulp and fell back in his seat with a heavy sigh, resting his hands on his distended belly. That cupcake alone would have been enough to fill him up; combined with everything else he'd eaten, he felt too stuffed to move. His tummy bulged comically from his skinny frame, visible against his sweater now that he was fully leaned back, his stomach stretched so taut that it hurt to breathe. He wasn't sure he'd even be able to lean forward far enough to stop the camera. Still, he'd accomplished his goal, and for that he was pleased, even if it meant he was going to spend the rest of the day nursing one hell of a bellyache.

At first, he’s not quite interested in your offer, because he has more important things to tend to in his mind, and yet, he always accepts in the end because he does love and care about you. Of course, he’d kneel to your level with a very, VERY slight undertone of curiosity and interest. In fact, he’s usually always interested in what you have to share with him. He just struggles, on occasion, to express openly. His face plate jittered and twitched at the sudden olfactory overload of the tart watermelon scent. His optics dilated ever the slightest, and he hummed with a sudden, newfound curiosity, “It smells...interesting, what is it?” He knew the answer soon after, when you pushed the small beverage can to his nose. It practically ‘plinked’ off of his snoot which surprised him, but he shook off the minor huff that formed, when he opened his mouth, took a small drop of the energy substance onto his glossa. His reaction was like nothing you’d witness from Prime before. His left optic twitched ever the slightest and he winced, shaking his head in a sudden manner of...was it shock or disgust? He was not thrilled. He certainly loved you, but would he try another? Not a chance.

You and Bumblebee were always about trying new things together, and energy drinks were a definite yes. Whenever you were to show any sign of pure excitement and yearn for a new experience, Bee’s always right there with you. He noticed you drink the ‘charging substance’ quite often. He perked up when you pushed the can to his muzzle after signaling him to lean down to your level. A curious whirring sound was a common result when he was interested in your offer. He was capable of speech, but it was habitual to make certain sounds now and again, “It smells funny,” He was often blunt about his verbal opinions on certain human foods and cultural differences, but in no way was it meant to offend. You knew this by now, and just shook what was left of the liquid energy in the can. The aluminum shone gold in the light, shimmering with such regality. Bee opened his mouth and waited for you to drop the remaining liquid onto his glossa. Upon first taste, a buzzing, giggling chortle escaped his chords. He liked it? He danced a happy little jig with his shoulders and leaned in to nuzzle your face. He definitely liked it. Pineapple, is, afterall, tart with a dash of sour, just like Bumblebee.

“It smells...intriguing. What human flavor is that?” Though his expression appeared more disturbed than curious, you shrugged, as you weren’t extremely certain and just really enjoyed the flavor as it was. Simple as that, but Ratchet always wanted to know more, and his sensors were in a definite state of piqued curiosity. You raised your half-empty can up to Ratchet’s face plate, when he kneeled, and he took in another heavy inhalation of the strong, fruity concoction, “So this is what humans ingest when they need a stasis...nap?” Ratchet was still working on his human terminology, but you nodded in response and tipped the drink into his open mouth. When the liquid touched his glossa, he stopped for a moment, and his expression appeared almost...insulted. You tensed up for a moment, before he snatched the can, and dropped it and the rest of the drink into his mouth, never to be seen again, “I don’t understand the energy aspect, but it has a nice tingle,” He twitched ever the slightest and leaned down a little closer, speaking in an almost whispered tone, “Is there anymore?”

“It smells tingly. Tell me again, why am I doing this?” His impatient tone was always apparent, but that was just part of that loveable, big bad personality. You gave him a gentle, playful smile, which got you everything you wanted from him, anyway. You tipped the drink up to his muzzle, which resulted in a harmless grumble before he opened his mouth with a subtle optic roll. You saw that, of course, and you ‘accidentally’ forgot to mention that it was still half full. You tipped the entire can into his mouth, and his reaction was priceless. He shook his head in utter disgust and his left optic twitched rapidly. Wow, a drink that could single-handedly take down a big, bad autobot like Ironhide? You thought to yourself with an amused smile upon your face, but you felt bad as a result, “It’s repulsive-Ratchet is such a liar," You raised a curious brow because you had no idea that Ratchet had mentioned the drink to anyone else, especially Ironhide. But then again, you weren’t surprised. But you felt kinda bad, so you leaned in while his expression was glitched in position, and nuzzled his adorable snoot with your own smallish nose. A double whammy. He was out for the count. A soft purr slipped as a result of his downed guard. He begged you for the rest of the day that it be mentioned to no one. Let’s just say, you told everyone. .

“So this is the stuff that’s so popular amongst humans to drink, huh? I’ll give it a shot, just for you,” Jazz gave you a flirty smile, and picked you up to his level, the can firmly clenched and slightly dented in your grasp as a result of suddenly being snatched up without notice, “Bottoms up!” He opened his mouth, and practically fired it back like a shot from a quirky bar patron. He must’ve been a great party guy back on Cybertron. Jazz laughed aloud and pulled you closer to his face plate, “Nice. I hope you plan to get more, cus that stuff is bussin’,' ' You spewed the rest of your swig of the drink and choked ever the slightest as a result of his comment. It was then you realized where a lot of his current content and stylish lingo was coming from. You rolled your eyes and playfully tapped your fist to his face plate, “What? You don’t agree?” He shrugged and pressed his snoot to your face, giving you a gentle kiss. Jazz always gave the best kisses, despite the size factor. He spent the rest of his day in a peppy, rather hyperactive mood as a result. Ratchet was intrigued. Ironhide was...not so much.

🎮 VIDEO GAME CONTROLLER — what are three of your oc's favorite hobbies?

- Ai enjoys anything to do with art but mainly drawing. He's either seen carrying a sketchbook around or always has one in his bag, it's a form of stress relief for him. He's rather good at it.

- Duel monsters. Ai's a duelist and has been since he was younger, originally his sister introduced it to him to distract him from something going on at the time but he quickly developed an intrest and started practising often. He isn't the best but he's good at strategy and knows what he's doing, though he still has room to improve.

- Playing the guitar. His notebooks are filled with melodies he's either written himself or wrote down to practice them. He often plays it when he's bored, stressed, someone's asked him to or he just wants to show off.

💍 RING — does your oc have any piercings? do they want any (more) piercings?

He does! He had his earlobes pierced so he can wear his fathers earrings as a comfort item. He's pretty satisfied with just the one set of piercings so he doesn't necessarily want anymore but isn't completely against getting more eventually.

💯 HUNDRED POINTS SYMBOL — share three random facts about your oc that others may not know.

- Ai has extreme difficulty focusing, sitting still, keeping his thoughts from wandering, remembering simple things and tends to take a while to process sentences or events that just happened. He disassociates quite a bit too.

- He falls out trees often. He likes to climb them and hang from them despite knowing that he'll fall but he does it anyway, then falls.

- Ai is absolutely terrified of reptiles despite being a dragon. They just freak him out. Because of this his sister tends to call him "lizard" to mess with him.

Sort of. He has basic knowledge on how to use a knife as a weapon and even more basic knowledge on how to wield a sword (thanks to his brother in law) but he can't really use them.

Art and music.

💙 BLUE HEART — does your oc have any cool/special powers and/or abilities? how are they with magic, if it exists in their world?

Ai's whole thing is fire so his blood is flammable and he can create sparks with his teeth and nails when they're long enough. He also has a special part in his throat that produces and odorless and colourless (but it has a taste) flammable gas that he can light.

He's resistant to fire and heat to a degree he can still get burned if the fire is too hot or it burns on him for too long and he can still be affected by heat if he's in it for too long.

☕️ HOT BEVERAGE — does your oc prefer coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk, water, or some other drink? how do they like to take this drink (ex. coffee with milk, hot chocolate with whipped cream, a specific kind of tea, etc)?

Ai prefers water over anything else. Plain old water is fine but he does enjoy watermelon flavoured water over anything else.

He doesn't really have much of a career goal in mind, but he knows he wants to either pursue music, art or dance.

 That she really believed she was Areelu's daughter, at the end. Or, at least, enough of the dead woman that it mattered. Enough that she mourned Areelu's death, even after everything done to her and the world. Sparrow truly wanted to be at least a piece of the person Areelu tore open the Worldwound for.

I mean, probably back to Dehrukani! It's probably difficult--while the country is more accessible the rest of the world than a lot of southern Garund, it is still in southern Garund and is inaccessible by land beyond a few dangerous paths through the outer Mwangi expanse, and its high cliff faces make it very hard to access by sea. But Sparrow's always dreamed about returning to the idyllic land of her childhood.

Of course, she specifically wants to go back to her actual childhood, where she still has a brother who loves her and is brave enough to lean over the high cliffs, letting the wind keep her from falling. If she ever did go back to the place (which, I imagine once she's Countess Arendae, she eventually does), she'd find herself very disappointed because it would always be missing what she actually wants to find.

#1 What does your character think about summer? Are they a fan, or do they long for the colder, more temperate months?

Vitus's absolute FAVORITE season is summer. He doesn't just like warm weather; he likes hot weather. Call it a side effect of a childhood spent running and riding bikes and playing with his friends through the concrete streets of Brooklyn. He also visited extended family overseas almost every summer when he was a kid, so he largely associates summer with his paternal grandparents, and the food his nene used to make. As an adult, summer is the season when nightlife is busiest, so his work and social lives are always most engaging this time of year.

#2 Is there a certain food or cold treat that they reach for on a hot night when a regular dinner just won’t work?

He's the type to choose savory over sweet—most of the time. During the summer, Vitus is a sucker for some ice cream. He also turns into a big ol' kid if you give him a watermelon or lemon ice pop. If we're talking dinner, though, he loves a good chilled soup, like gazpacho or corn soup.

#3 What about a beverage they enjoy in the summer?

Please, for the sake of the joints in my hands, do not ask me to list out all the fruity cocktails this man enjoys during the summer. So many. Too, too many. His favorite is probably a good jalapeño margarita, though.

#4 Describe your character’s sense of style / fashion go-tos when it comes to the warm months.

Summer is when his wardrobe truly thrives. He's big on shirts with cut off sleeves, sheer/fishnet/mesh shirts, and florals. He also likes a good button-up if he's going out on the town. Most fabrics are pretty light but still form-fitting, in keeping with his all-year-round preferences. When it comes to ~accessorizing~ Vitus likes to wear necklaces more during the summer, since he's not sporting turtlenecks or other high-cut shirts as often. He also has a few body chains to wrap around his waist or chest for a little extra flair.

#5 What about what they wear to the pool or the beach?

Vitus loves a good pair of tiny swim trunks. Give him those and some sunglasses, and my boy is beach-ready. Like the rest of his wardrobe, his bathing suits are always in earthy or otherwise deep colors.

#6 Speaking of – if they’re at the beach, what is their favorite thing to do?

SUNBATHE. He's like a cat on the beach—fully stretched out on some blanket, soaking up the heat. If he's with friends, he can be persuaded to play frisbee or catch pretty easily.

#7 If your character had to choose, would they rather spend time at the pool, or at the beach?

Beach, 100%, no contest. He loves the sand and the sound of the ocean.

#8 When they’re at the pool, are they a lounge around, soaking up the sun type, or in the water, causing chaos type?

He's usually in the water, leaning on the edge with a drink or his phone in his hand, or chatting with friends. He's not really the type to go to a pool solo, but when he's there with buddies, he follows the crowd to make the most of the quality time.

#9 Outside of pool and beach fun, what is your character’s favorite summer hobby or pastime that they can’t wait to do?

It's cliche, but Vitus loves to sit outside with someone, share drinks, and swap stories. He's a sucker for those late nights out on the back porch, fire escape, or roof. This is also why he likes camping most in the summer. The weather makes it easier to stay up late with people. Mosquitoes be damned, there's no better time than a balmy 3 AM to bare your soul to someone.

#10 Are they big on vacations, or are they more of a staycation kind of person?

Both! He does love to travel, but if he's with the right person/people, a staycation can be just as fun as a vacation.

#11 When it comes to outdoor space, gardening, etc., what does your character do? Do they mow their lawn, do they have a garden, is their home full of plants?

Vitus's home is full of plants all year round, but he does step it up a bit in the summer. He likes to grow vegetables in little planters by the windows or out on his balcony.

#12 What is their favorite spot to spend time in Merrock that doesn’t include the public pool and the swim beach?

The Hideaway Market is his favorite place to just hang out when he's free. It has the perfect amount of bustle and lots of seating to people-watch while having a little treat. Bonus points if he bumps into a friend or two while he's out there enjoying the weather.

#13 If they had to pick one thing to say that they disliked about summer… what would it be and why?

The traffic. More people out and about means more people clogging up the roads. Vitus isn't one to have road rage, but he does get ticked off when people drive like idiots around him while he has his bike out for the day.

#14 What is your character’s favorite summertime memory? Whether it be from their childhood or their big kid years?

He has two that vie for the top spot down memory lane. The first is an early memory from when he was a boy, over in Turkiye—seated around the table with his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins. It was a dinner like any other, so mundane that Vitus doesn't even remember what food they ate. But his uncle and father bickered to the point of laughing tears, and the image of that—baba, doubled over in his chair, moisture dewing at his crow's feet—is burned into little Vitus's memory. His father was never more carefree than when he was back home, which is why Vitus clings to his memories from those summers. The second is from when he was a bit older. Vitus fell in love with his first boyfriend, Ali, when he was around the age of seventeen. The summer of that year was when they shared their first kiss in the front seat of Ali's parents' car. It was very much a friends-to-lovers kind of deal, and the night Vitus discovered he could love a boy as much as he could be attracted to one. Not just a fond memory from his favorite season, but one of the most formative nights of his young life.

#15 And lastly… what is one thing that they really hope to do this summer?

Frequent more dining locations by the coast than he had the chance to last year, having moved to Merrock so late in the season.

History of National Tequila Day

Derived from the blue agave plant, humans have been making something like tequila for at least a couple of thousand years. As early as 150 B.C., a predecessor of tequila, called ‘pulque’ was believed to have been made by civilizations predating the ancient Aztecs.

When making tequila, the hearts of the agave plant (called piñas) are removed and cooked, then they are ground and fermented for anywhere from a few months to three years. Like wine, the type of soil the plant is grown in can impact the taste of the final product. Unlike wine or other drinks made from fruit, once an agave plant is used to make tequila, it cannot be reused.

To qualify as “tequila”, at least 51% of the product must be derived from the blue agave plant that is prevalent in Mexico. Today, however, many manufacturers of the drink have much higher standards and will make it from a full 100% blue agave. These versions of tequila are typically higher quality and will usually be more expensive than the mixed versions.

Modern-day tequila is like a few other alcoholic beverages (champagne, cognac or bourbon) in that it can only be named “tequila” if it is made in a certain place. In the case of tequila, this place is Mexico. While specifically most tequilas originate from Jalisco, other qualifying regions include Michoacán, Tamaulipas, Guanajuato, or Nayarit.

National Tequila Day is the celebration of everything to do with this classic drink, whether it is enjoyed straight or as part of a tasty cocktail. In 2018, National Tequila Day was officially recognized by the Mexican government, and now everyone wants to celebrate–not just today but all year round!

London is a beautiful place to be born and raised and it was somewhere that Skylar never thought that he would move on from because it was what made him feel like at home. He loved the atmosphere and the culture that came with it. It was actually really nice to live in a place that people dreamed of being able to visit in their lifetime. When Skylar was six years old they moved from London and headed to Chicago as his father got an amazing offer.

Speaking of growing up, Skylar was the middle child of his siblings. He wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or bad thing but the best part of growing up with parents like Logan and Sarah, they never made any of their kids feel less worthy than the other. Even with all of the problems that the kids had growing up, they would drop everything without a blink of an eye and be there for their children because unlike their kids, they had both grown up in the system.

He didn’t know what to do with himself so he turned to drugs and alcohol to the point where there was no return. He got himself into some trouble and he dropped out of college. 

Sebastian disappeared from his family and that’s when they began to worry about him. They didn’t know what was going on with him and they found him after he had taken too much and he was in the hospital. They called his mother since she was the emergency contact and she was there, crying her eyes out. She begged Sebastian to change his ways so that he didn’t end up like this again. 

Sebastian moved back into the home and he worked on himself and he went through therapy and took the steps to get healthier. Sebastian ended up going back to school and getting his degree in culinary arts and went to work in a restaurant.
