an old lady I was serving today saw my "don't die wondering" pin and said she really liked it, and I was about to be like "oh? old fruit?" but then she started talking about how she dreads dying in the middle of a book, because then she'll never know the end which is, like, an equally valid interpretation of the message tbh. I told her it's a good reason to come back as a ghost and she lit up saying she thinks she'd be really good at haunting. kind of an icon tbh. i hope she dies at the end of her book, or that she comes and haunts the library so she can read to her heart's content.
EDIT: This is getting notes, so I'm slapping on some terf repellent preemptively lol

i love the way sansa is so proud to be catelyn's daughter. in a world where women are expected to assimilate to their husbands' world once they get married, there's sansa adopting her mother's gods into her creed, taking pride in having her mother's looks, often choosing to wear the colors of her mother's house and, most importantly, drawing strength from her mother's memory. what's so great about this is that it's not an act of spite against her father. she's just proud of being both stark and tully. it's like arya said: the woman is important too.

I feel like one thing most people don’t fully comprehend is just how incredible it is not only that Simone Biles does what she does, but that she’s able to do it at 27. Gymnastics is a brutal sport and there’s a reason very few gymnasts even make it to college gym, and even fewer are able to compete all four years. It’s easier to get hurt, you’re more likely to have previous injuries that have caused lasting pain, and you’ll have gone through puberty and needed to adjust to the changes that causes in your body. It makes her coming back that much more special.

Something I realised about the situation with Maria in Sonic 3.
Yes, she isn't said to be terminally ill, or Shadow being born to cure her, which is a huge departure from the games. But I'd say it still maintains nearly the same level of tragedy.
She was able to walk around, interact with people. Be silly, be active, tie a rope to Shadow and get him to pull her around on her own roller skates.
She was able to go outside, and see Earth in all its beauty. The stars, the sky, the moon. She was able to lie down in the grass with her brother and comfort him about his own insecurities.
Maria Robotnik was a child full of life, with a life to look forward to.
And that was taken from her.
Sonic 3, all it does, is change the tragedy from 'she was never going to live long' to 'she was able to have a long life and it was stolen from her in cruelty and unfairly'.
That's the injustice that drives Shadow in Sonic 3.
Maria Robotnik should have lived a long and good life. Gone to school, got a career, changed the world with Shadow at her side.
Instead, because of the cruelty of the military, she lost it all and will never be able to have that life.

i'm going insane over the few years in-between seasons we did not get to see, especially crowley and his glasses.
they have a PLACE. he puts them there as soon as he enters, he feels so comfortable in the bookshop by now he doesn't even need to get drunk first or wait a while. just. immediately takes them off. bares his soul to aziraphale. let's him see.
how did we get here??? how many hours did he spend with aziraphale, just growing more and more relaxed around him, trusting him. trusting that he won't abuse his vulnerability, hell, at that point aziraphale probably cherishes it. yellow IS his favorite colour, after all. crowley's yellow, to be precise.
and the statue he places them on - was that aziraphale asking him to put them somewhere safe after crowley accidentally sat on them or dropped them? maybe it started out as a careless 'i'm just throwing them there i dont give a fuck' and then just. happened again. and again. until suddenly it was *his* spot.
aziraphale has gotten so used to seeing his eyes it will kill him when crowley stops taking his glasses off around him, seeing only his own reflection instead mutual affection.
do you think he will forget the exact colour of his eyes in heaven? do you think he will try to remember the shade and be unsure if it's correct, trying to find the right memories but never being confident that this one is right?
six thousand years and suddenly all he wants is to be able to look into crowley's eyes again.
