In season 8, episode 22 of Seinfeld, there is an in universe musical called Scarsdale Surprise. In an establishing shot, we see that the musical is playing at the Majestic theater on Broadway. The episode aired in 1997.

The majestic theater is famous for showing phantom of the opera starting in 1988 and closing April 2023. In the Seinfeld universe, phantom must have closed its doors early to allow the new musical to open at the majestic. That means it only ran 9 years at most and is not the longest running Broadway musical in this universe.

That begs the question… what is?

The Big Starship

(In a Parallel Universe)

A fun run of a seinfeld plot with a voyager theme told from a Jerry Seinfeld'esque point of view featuring a juxtaposition of Katie (seinfelds manager) and Kate (Janeway).

Well we had this idea where I'm captain of a starship and I only have like 3 friends because I really can't handle any more than that.

Nothing really happens but I meet alot of the crew members every day and things don't always work out between us but we have to share the same ship for years because my navigator Katie didn't want to bother me with small details and we wound up getting lost in another part of the galaxy.

Now we're trying to get back home and things between me and Katie work out alright and we make out alot but she also has something going on with this hottie named Seven and she tends to go crazy sometimes and won't make a decision for herself as to whether or not we've got enough emergency rations. How the hell should i know? What am i, the leola soup nazi? And she keeps wanting to make all these side stops and tells me not freak out. What am i supposed to do, not do anything? I couldnt do that, she likes chaos, it would have offended her. I'm just a comedian and somehow got this captian gig because I let my friend George talk me into this plot and the execs went for it, can you believe it?!

Yes, I was very wise to hitch my wagon to his star.

And now I'm out here in the...the what? The delta quadrant? That sounds made up. Well, I'm sure we're getting out of this alive. (Eyeroll) What's the deal with time and space travel anyway, I'm here for a little while, now I'm over there and a couple hundred centuries have passed and we've got replicated coffee instead of Mr. Coffee and instead of taxis we've got tiny spaceships with tiny bathrooms, and what's the deal with space bathrooms anyway? Does anyone REALLY want to know? This is the show. That's a show.
