OH MY GOD SO MANY PEOPLE DIED OSJPAJFJKS. I'M SO SORRY RANDY IS SUCH A HARD BITCH TO SURVIVE 😭😭😭. But anyways, let's get into the statistics 👀

I sadly won't be going through every character, but I'll try to explain my rankings

First I'm gonna provide some color coding assignments, so if you wanna look for a specific oc, it'll be easier to do so lol

Dan is at the number one slot. SOMEONE HELP HIM. RANDY HAS BEEN MEANING TO EAT HIM FOR MONTHS NOW PSJFJSKA. THE SECOND DAVIS IS OUT OF THE PICTURE, DAN IS A DEAD MAN

Squirrel is next. Since she loves climbing trees, this means she's always out in the woods, and has a high likelihood of bumping into Randy lol

Then I have Conrad in third place because honestly, I feel like she's a danger magnet pajjcjs. Maybe she's seen way too many people bring Randy back to their hotel rooms, only for them to be found dead the next night. She made the mistake to confront him about it 😤

I've placed the people in the middle because I feel like they wouldn't be as likely to run into Randy, whether it's because they hang out in the wrong crowds, or because they won't venture the woods at night lol. It is leading with Vesper and Bo because they would smell delicious. Randy would approach them first 😔 pshjcksl

The last five starts with Fester. He might be too intimidating for Randy to try to eat lol. Randy does not want to get into a losing fight 😤. Next is Cyrus, who is only placed so low because he is VERY CAUTIOUS. He is making sure not to run into ANYONE. He wants to stay hidden. Davis is after him because if Randy goes after him, Dan might start to get suspicious. And he does honestly get the vibes that Davis wants to kill him too (he does lol). Oenis is there because he honestly does not look appetizing at all 😭. He looks so dirty and like he'd taste gross 😭

Then in the very last place is Skull. RANDY DOES NOT WANNA GET INTO A FIGHT WITH THIS GUY. HE COULD VERY CLEARLY OVERPOWER RANDY, AND HE DOES NOT WANNA TAKE THE RISK PSJFJKSL

Favorite/Horrendous Victim

Davis 👏 is 👏 number 👏 one 👏 👁👁. HUNT THAT BITCH DOOOOWN. Randy would honestly love to hunt Davis. Give him a taste of his own medicine. He'd love to put him in his place. Randy is actually stronger than Davis. Davis would put up a good fight, and it'd definitely be very fun for Randy to watch him struggle, but unfortunately, he is going to end up dead. Randy has a vendetta against Davis. Not only is Davis preventing him from kidnapping Dan, but he's also just so passively aggressive in general. He gets bad vibes from Davis, and feels like Davis is constantly judging him (which he is). Randy hates those types of people

Squirrel and Colin are next because Randy would have a blast hunting them down. I feel like Squirrel's not the type to go down without a fight. You know she's gonna be climbing up trees and using that to her advantage. It's gonna be something that Randy's never seen before. Sure, people have climbed the trees to get away from him, but Squirrel is different, she's experienced, she knows what she's doing and she's swift with it. For Colin, Randy would be mesmerized by his outfit, and also he'd love watching Colin squirm and freak out lol. He's such a cutie that you could gobble right up! 😋

Starting from Theo, Randy starts to have less of an enjoyable time because these people are fighting back lol. He does love a good chase, but also he does NOT like dying. If you're fighting him with the intent to kill, he's putting a stop to that immediately. That being said, I do still think Randy would have a good time interacting with some of them. Theo seems super nice, and Tantrum would honestly be a blast to fight, he would love her spirit >:). Clove would be very fascinating as well, considering he's a fox beastkin. After the initial awe though, Randy is going to have to adjust to fighting him. I'd imagine Clove is very nimble, so that would really catch Randy off guard

Eugene's right in the middle because he would be too boring, he's too passive 😔 pzjfks. Ronny and Sable would be too eager to kill Randy, so he doesn't like them either lol. Same with Skull, Cyrus, and Fester, except they'd REALLY wanna kill Randy osjfkl

Elowyn is in last place because Randy would honestly just find her annoying psjfksk. She would be going into this too tactically. She is coming up with plans and backup plans, trying to figure out how to use the woods to her advantage, coming up with ways to manipulate Randy. But all of that shit would fly over his head. Nothing she says is gonna land with him. He's just gonna be like "she talks way too much and I don't get any of it 🙄" before stabbing her in the stomach lol

DEAD

For the last section, I'm gonna start by talking about the people who die lol

Unfortunately, Vesper, Bo, Dan, Conrad, Elowyn, Eugene, Colin, Cyrus, and Tantrum getting EATEN PAJFKSKA. The others are getting eaten too, but they're dying in a scuffle. I'm sure everyone is fighting back, but these guys are fighting back. Tantrum and Cyrus are too, but I feel like they're easier to take down than the last three

Survivors who KILLED

Theo, Skull, and Clove are killing Randy. Of course, Theo is immortal lol. So even if Randy somehow kills him, Theo is getting back up when Randy least expects it and is stabbing him in the back

Skull's massive size and wolf strength is easily overpowering Randy

I feel like Clove would also get the upper hand on Randy because he's not used to hunting people who are so quick. Clove is dodging all of his swings and it would honestly freak him out lol. Randy wouldn't be thinking straight in his panic 😔

FOR THE PEOPLE WHO HE SPARES

He is vibing. He is chilling. They are all having a good time

Once Randy learns that Sable has been the one who's dumping bodies in the middle of the woods, they are immediately becoming best friends pekfkw. Killer solidarity. Sable needs a way to get rid of the bodies, and Randy needs to eat

I think Kalani would know exactly what to say to win Randy over and spare her, whether they end up as friends or lovers 😌

Squirrel is also just so cool. I could see them getting along really quickly lol. Randy might stop hunting her in the middle of it because her vibes are fantastic

Oenis is also surviving because the two of them would also get along lol. They have the same type of humor, and honestly I can imagine the both of them hunting people down together lol. Also, since Oenis is a shapeshifter, it would be an instant party trick between the two of them lol. Randy would love watching him turn into different people lol. (Also Oenis would NOT be pleasant to eat osjfjks. Man is too dense and chewy, he's grooosssss 😭)

M3GAN (2022)

😿Dog Dies 💁‍♀️💁‍♀️(💁‍♀️) Strong Female Lead(s)

When this movie first came out I wasn’t very interested because “Annabelle” was lackluster, but then I heard “M3GAN” was good and by GOD I was not let down (Also this is not like “Annabelle,” it has a doll but that is about all the comparison that you can make). A thoughtful and thorough sci-fi robo-horror which is set in the not-so-distant future (if it isn’t already happening and I’m just not rich enough to know about it). Some good camp included with M3GAN herself galloping through the woods and dancing down the halls but also some good scares too. Well rounded film, would watch again and recommend.

The only questionable thing happens right away and it’s that those little tinkering nerds were able to sneak making this high tech robot for thousands of dollars without their boss knowing. I absolutely call shenanigans. I'll believe that the boss wasn’t paying attention to them, sure, but I’ll bet he had his eyes on the money they were spending. That aside, M3GAN is made as a toy for children, which, I mean, an expensive robot doll like that is going to be made for adults for either two reasons, war or sex (or both!), but THAT aside... M3GAN is a toy just for kids and she is going to protect Cady, who is the niece of one of the nerds (Gemma).

The tinkering nerds built M3GAN to learn and keep learning (apparently one of the things she learned is how to turn herself on again after being turned off, damn girl) so she can best care for Cady but this starts to take a dark turn when Gemma is a little to vague in her commands. It's almost like the doll was waiting for an opportunity to push the boundaries because it only takes a boy pressing a chestnut prickly casing into Cady's hand for M3GAN to go completely feral. I'm talking down on all fours, horse galloping sound effects (I chortled)... She might have overreacted by pulling his ear and showing him exactly how Cady’s parents died…

It is important to note the neighbor and her dog that inexplicably went missing after the dog bit Cady. The neighbor reported that the doll would stare out the window at them at 3am but I’m sure M3GAN had nothing to do with it (she had something to do with it). Finally we get to the unveiling where everyone is totally on board with this doll and no one wants it for the other two things Americans love so it’s still going to be a toy for kids but M3GAN is feeling more like a WMD at the moment. She hacked the system and some people then escaped back to Cady but Cady didn’t want her murderer ass anymore.

Now, when Cady turned on M3GAN, M3GAN snapped, ignored her programming, called Cady ungrateful, and was MAD. M3GAN tried to kill the one she had previously “loved” and was previously going to protect because Cady tried to kill HER. That felt so realistic, because M3GAN wouldn’t have human empathy in the end for Cady, she would just be looking out for herself, she is a robot. I really appreciated that they didn’t make her still love Cady.

Finally we have their universe's smart home pod light up at the end and it feels right because M3GAN had already been messing with the smart house setup throughout the movie so of COURSE she is still in the Cloud! Really a great movie and a lot of fun to watch, hope 2.0 builds off of this momentum!

Tiny Review: Kung Fu Panda 4. Wholesome passing of the staff.

I went into this with very low expectations. The franchise has been quite lacklustre. The previous movie barely had any story.  

But this one, like its theme, brings change. It’s commendable that they are transitioning the franchise past Po and into a new generation.

I love Po’s slow acceptance of passing on the staff. And look forward to Zhen’s heroic growth arc, in the next one.

Edit: OMG, I realized this so late... Po's awkward transition into bad jokes is a reflection of him slowly becoming a father-figure(dad jokes)!

Hmm, I can’t help but think of the MCU’s transition as well. I think this succeeds where Marvel failed, because Zhen is a wholly different personality than Po.  

Whereas in the MCU, the successors were mostly gender/race-bended bland copies of the originals.

M3GAN (2023)

Beneath the dark laughs, memorable scenes and the sort of scares you expect from a killer robot doll, M3GAN actually has some surprisingly poignant moments. While you might recognize the overall plot, this movie by Gerard Johnstone is not just “another one of those”. It’s loads of fun. With strong performances, great special effects and smart satirical jabs throughout, this film effortlessly wins you over.

After surviving the car accident that killed her parents, eight-year-old Cady (Violet McGraw) is sent to live with her aunt, Gemma (Allison Williams). Struggling to bond with her niece and eager to prove to her boss that the funds she’s been diverting towards her pet project haven’t been wasted, she puts the finishing touches on M3GAN (pronounced “Megan”), a robot doll. The child-sized gynoid bonds with Cady and soon the two become inseparable - much to the delight of Gemma’s co-workers - but is the seemingly perfect companion too good to be true?

M3GAN begins strongly by showing us the kind of toy M3GAN will be competing against: an ugly, Furby-like creature that poops a lot. It’s juvenile, but that’s the point. You take one look at that thing and you understand why kids would love it. You also know that their parents will curse whoever bought the electronic pet. Compared to M3GAN, it’s as sophisticated as a pail of sea monkeys. The doll (played by Amie Donald and voiced by Jenna Davis) is every parent’s dream come true. Megan helps Cady develop good habits (like washing her hands and flushing after using the toilet), is a fountain of information that can help her owner with her homework, recognizes emotions and responds to them accordingly. One of the film’s best scenes is a pitch to the Funki toy company’s investors. You think the scene is going one way and it goes in a completely different direction. It’s shockingly emotional.

For a second, you think “Every child should have one of these”, and then you remember all the sinister traits M3GAN has been developing. While this is a film about a domestic robot that eventually develops an unhealthy obsession with its owner and rebels against its creator, it’s also a commentary on children and screens. M3GAN makes taking care of Cady so much easier for Gemma but at the end of the day, she isn’t real; when M3GAN's perfect, it’s too perfect. With only circuits and switches to guide her actions, she’s unable to make the same moral choices as a person. The topic of parenting and which style is best for children comes up several times - often with ironic twists. An example is a scene where Gemma meets the mother of a nasty boy named Brandon. I didn’t expect this sort of movie to make me pause and think about much besides “How awful it would be to die like that” but writer Akela Cooper (working off of a story she co-wrote with James Wan) brings a lot to what could have been an ultimately forgettable but fun romp.

One of the best things about M3GAN is that it knows exactly what kind of movie it is. There are many silly scenes that embrace the outlandish premise. That doesn’t mean it can’t have great characters brought to life by terrific performances - Allison Williams, in particular, is a standout. She gives so much humanity to a character that you could easily dislike because she sort of pawns off her niece to an A.I. that eventually learns to kill. Instead, you come to fully sympathize with her. The violence and gore are delightfully ghoulish. The action scenes are surprisingly well done - I wasn't surprised to hear that many who worked on Malignant also worked on this picture.

I've repeatedly said that M3GAN surprised me and it's worth saying again; I expected to have a good time but I did not expect to love it as much as I did. (April 26, 2023)
