If you’re looking for yet another reason that Donald Trump shouldn’t be elected president again, we have two words for you: Project 2025. You’ve probably been hearing these words, but you may be sketchy on what they mean. We’re here to fill you in on the details thanks to a report by Accountable.US.

What is Project 2025?

Basically, Project 2025 is a blueprint of what far-right activists want from the next conservative president — and Trump is the conservative who’s running. It includes plans to fire as many as 50,000 career federal employees and replace them with people who have unquestionable loyalty to the president; restrict access to contraception; possibly implement a national abortion ban; cut federal health care programs; and much more, designed to make the U.S. an authoritarian nation. And LGBTQ+ people are directly in its crosshairs. “Project 2025 couldn’t make its anti-LGBTQ+ agenda any more clear. With far-right extremists at the helm, the project is a power grab by conservatives attempting to turn back the clock on hard-fought progress and fundamental rights,” Accountable.US President Caroline Ciccone said in a statement to The Advocate. “Project 2025 doesn’t just pose an existential threat to our democracy but seriously threatens the rights and freedoms of LGBTQ+ communities across the country.”

How will it affect LGBTQ+ Americans?

Project 2025’s “Mandate for Leadership��� is a document taking up 900 pages, but Accountable.US has put together a succinct summary of what Project 2025 would mean to LGBTQ+ Americans, and The Advocate has a first look. Here are the key points. The project urges the next conservative president to basically ignore the 2020 Supreme Court decision in Bostock v. Clayton County, in which the court found that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, in banning sex discrimination in the workplace, also bans discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. President Joe Biden, in contrast, had directed all federal agencies to implement the provisions of Bostock not just in the workplace but in health care, education, and other aspects of life. It calls for barring transgender people from the military and to stop what it considers the “toxic normalization of transgenderism” across the government and American society. It seeks to abolish the president’s Gender Policy Council, “which it views as promoting abortion and the ‘new woke gender ideology,’” Accountable.US notes.

The next Health and Human Services secretary, Project 2025 recommends, should reverse what it calls a focus on “‘LGBTQ+ equity,’ subsidizing single-motherhood, disincentivizing work, and penalizing marriage, replacing such policies with those encouraging marriage, work, motherhood, fatherhood, and nuclear families.” “The Project 2025 playbook laments the fact that family policies and programs under President Biden’s HHS are ‘fraught with agenda items focusing on “LGBTQ+ equity,”’ making it clear that they intend to roll those agenda items back,” Accountable.US explains. It further calls for the Department of Justice “to defend the First Amendment right of those who would discriminate against LGBTQ+ people. It also objects to the DOJ notifying states that their bans on abortion and medical services to transgender persons may violate federal law,” Accountable.US reports. On foreign policy, Project 2025 says a new conservative president should dismantle and U.S. Agency for International Development programs that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, such as what it dubs “the bullying LGBTQ+ agenda.”

Project 2025’s harmful anti-LGBTQ+ agenda is just one piece of the radical right-wing Heritage Foundation document. Project 2025’s goals are to make life harder for LGBTQ+ Americans.

Tech Tuesday - Introductions

A/N: Entirely written on my phone. Apologies for errors!

A/N2: This chapter is mainly an introduction to the setting and the majority of the characters. It'll be different readers for each character (give or take).

Ok, first day, very important to not make an idiot of yourself. That's been your internal mantra for the entire commute. You've been really hoping it'll help you out today.

You've gotten a ticket to take to IT for your new work laptop but you got lost trying to find your way there. You look around at the signs, trying to figure it out when someone gently coughs to get your attention. Turning you see a tall, lean man with short blondish brown hair and light blue eyes.

"Do you need some help?" His accent and soft tone help soothe your nerves.

"Um..." you hesitate. "I'm, I'm trying to find the IT department?"

His eyes widen as he smiles, "you must be the new hire." You nod and he holds out his hand, "I'm Jonathan, manager of the IT department. I'll show you the way."

He talks as he guides you to the one section of the building you hadn't been to yet.

"Here is our own little corner of the world," Jonathan gestures around the open area. "For a new employee you're going to want to talk to Jake." He points to a young man with spiky hair, glasses and a goatee who's talking on the phone.

"Ain't gonna happen for a while." A large bear of a man with a beard and a bald top, wearing a Lynyrd Skinner shirt steps towards you. "He's helping that little old lady on the third floor that never remembers her password."

"Ah, yes," Jonathan winces. "She is quite the talker." He looks to you and introduces the second man as Syverson. "We both run the department but Sy is better at managing the employees while I'm better at convincing the higher ups to give us a better budget."

"One of th' smoothest talkers I've ever worked with," Sy grins. "As far as your laptop, you wait right here an' I'll go get from Walter. He's our main hardware guy. Then we'll get...hmmm." He looks around as he ponders.

"Johnny is currently mid battle with that hacker he keeps toying with," Jonathan muses. "How is Ransom's mood today?"

Sy snorts, "same as always. Definitely don't wanna scare the lady away." He snaps his fingers, "Rogers!"

A head pops out of a cubicle, "you call?"

"Got a new employee," Sy explains. "Gonna need you to help her get her laptop setup." Sy turns and heads to where you're guessing Walter is with the hardware you'll need.

You turn back to where Steve was situated and almost jump at seeing him so close. He's huge but you didn't hear him at all! The big and tall blonde man's eyes are shining with enthusiasm.

He holds out his hand and you introduce yourself. "It's nice to meet you. Not a lot of new people around here lately. I work with the designs for our internal programs. Me and Bucky," he gestures back to his cubicle, "work together on the UX and accessibility stuff for the external website."

"That's impressive," you nod, practically hypnotized by his eyes. And his muscles, if you're being honest with yourself.

Sy returns and hands Steve the laptop. "Follow me," Steve smiles as he turns. You try your best to fight the urge to ogle his ass. It's your first day and you don't want to already make a fool of yourself! No matter how handsome these guys are.

Steve takes you through the setup. He's incredibly patient and kind. Plus his voice could keep your attention forever. He's going through some of the standard company security stuff when there's a knock. You both turn and you see a burly man with a beanie and a beard so full you almost miss the lip piercing.

"Hey, Curtis. What's up?"

"Bucky's out getting another coffee," Curtis starts. "Need you to tell him I've got the code worked out for the next update and need him to check the legacy compatibility."

"Sure thing," Steve nods and Curtis heads back to whenever he'd been.

"Don't you have an internal communications thing for this?" You're surprised that someone has to intervene in the communication.

Steve chuckles as he pulls out his phone. "Bucky never responds to work stuff while he's out, even just to a cafe. But there's a time crunch on this and I'm the only person he'll actually check his phone for."

"Oh," is all you can say.

Steve finishes his text and gets back to your training. When you're done you thank him for everything and he blushes a little.

"If you want I can help you with the physical setup at your desk?" He almost looks like he's pleading for you to say yes.

"It won't be a problem? I don't want to get you in trouble."

"Not at all," he assures. "Besides, I don't want to be here for the upcoming Bucky and Curtis debate."

You giggle nervously, "ok. And thank you!"

When Suffs opens previews later this month, Emily Skinner (1970) will have ten Broadway shows to her name. Best known (and Tony-nominated) for being attached to Alice Ripley's hip in Side Show (1997), Emily isn't afraid to take bit parts that squander her talents (looking at you, New York, New York (2022)). She made her Broadway debut in Jekyll & Hyde where, during previews, she had her own Singin' in the Rain moment when she provided the vocals for star Linda Eder during her bout of laryngitis.

Another ten-show Diva, Judy Kuhn (1958) is a four-time Tony nominee for tumblr-favorites such as Les Miserables (1987), Chess (1988), She Loves Me (1994), and most recently Fun Home (2015). Booked and busy, she has featured in two Classic Stage Company off-Broadway shows since 2021, and will appear in the Encores! Titanic concert this June. She is the singing voice for Disney's Pocahontas.

Attila Puskás is a native Hungarian Voice Actor born in Transylvania – Romania, so Romanian is in his bag of tricks too, but most of his work is done in English, in a Transatlantic Eastern European Accent, but is quite capable of Hungarian, Romanian and International Eastern European accents, plus Standard American. His voice range is Adult to Middle Aged (30-40+) due to his deep voice. Vocal styles can range from authoritive, brooding to calming and reassuring and much more. He’s most experienced in character work, like Animations and Games, but his skills encompass Commercials to Narration as well. The Anglerfish tries to lure Jerry into the forest in order to steal his skin. Somehow Jerry ends up walking out of there completely unharmed and with multiple taxidermied human hides under his arm. The Anglerfish doesn't want to talk about it.

Breekon and Hope find the Twins too boring for words. Nikola thinks the four of them should be the best of friends. Breekon and Hope think that is kind of a hurtful stereotype. Not all giant menacing clown monsters are the same, c'mon man.

Michael / the Spiral sporadically pops in to the Gas Station via the various mysteriously appearing doors. He doesn't bother much with Jack (he found the whole Lydia Halligan situation depressing enough that it turned him off insomniacs) but he fucks with Tony and the Brick Roscoes on the reg.

The other Avatars refer to Roger as Annabelle's "creepy wooden son". To Annabelle, he's more like the embarrassing cousin who should be chained to a radiator in the attic and hidden away at parties. She keeps trying to manipulate Nikola into claiming him for the Stranger. Nikola gleefully tells her she would never dream of separating a mother from her baby.

for my canon, I like to think that i just kind of make the characters more real. For most of their original canon stories, or for the fanon versions of them, their characters are made to be just killing machines with a little bit of angst and the story of whatever caused it. I base them off my favourite versions of their stories (or combine), but i give them flaws and little quirks that make them into an actual character rather than a person. I also try to write in how they are all traumatized people because thats usually brushed off. I wouldn't mind going into more detail if you'd like :3

You and buggy had been through thick and thin together. You’d been friends since childhood and you always followed Buggy, he never brought any harm to you so you stuck with him. Said man you were marrying was..far from kind. He always beat you if you did anything wrong or said something out of place in his eyes. Buggy it’s me!” You yelled, the blue haired flashy fool looked over and his eyes widened seeing you. You were skinner, and paler than when he’d last seen you. Only two years and you’d changed so much. He jumped down and landed infront of you, a hesitant hand held your face and you leaned in.

Since that day you traveled the ocean with him gaining your own bounty and wanted poster. It had only been a year since he saved you when he proposed. Of course you said yes, you love this flashy fool you’d die before you left him. He was upfront and admitted he ate the chop chop fruit, and that’s why he could split himself up. You were fascinated by it and would often ask him questions.

You had been married for quite a few years, always having each others backs whenever you fought, or he’d let you light a buggy ball if he was feeling extra nice. You rarely fought, but soon after Luffy humiliated him and got away, he swore vengeance. You thought it was bad already with him despising shanks, but now Luffy to? The boy just seems playful and immature. Nothing different from buggy. And this sparked an argument.

“I don’t understand Buggy, you hate shanks, and now you hate the child he helped raise? It was low of you to even put the kid in the tank in the first place!” You were pacing the circus floor wringing your hands together. You turned to him as he began yelling about vengeance and how could she betray him in such a way.

“You don’t understand! You weren’t the one bullied all your life! You had a nice simple life after I left! You married a marine if I’m not mistaken” He yelled and raised a hand to make a point, but his face was one of confusion when you flinched back and covered your face.

“I promise I’ll do better”

The words had slipped out before you knew what you were saying. Buggy’s eyes widened and he lowered his hand gently. Did that marine bastard…no… “What did they do to you?” You looked up tearfully and before you could even begin to talk buggy pulled you in for a hug and hid his own tears. He didn’t care if any of his crew walked in. You were his damned flashy wife, and he blamed himself for not coming to the village sooner, hell he blamed himself for not taking you with him originally.

“I love you…my flashy little wife” he whispered in your ear and you smiled through the tears. You placed a kiss on his jaw “I love you to my flashy fool.”
