Revival of a struck off company: Process of Restoring Struck Off Companies
The Revival of Struck Off Company is indeed a process in which a company that was struck off by the Registrar of Companies can be revived. Of course, This is a substitute for winding up the business. Of course, it is possible for a period of twenty years following the strike off date. The revival of a struck off company is a crucial process in the corporate landscape of India. Companies that…

Academics and scholars have vowed to boycott Columbia University over its repressive policies against protesting students in shocking scenes that have sparked a wider student movement for Palestine across the US.
Over the past 24 hours, student encampments have mushroomed in colleges - on the east coast, in particular - with more anticipated to begin over the next few days. Middle East Eye is aware of at least two other universities that are planning similar encampments which have not been announced yet.
Student encampments demanding divestment from companies involved in Israel's occupation of Palestinian land and "genocide" in Gaza have popped up at the Massachusetts Insitute of Technology (MIT); Tufts and Emerson in Boston; New York University and The New School in New York City; Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee; Yale University in Connecticut; University of California-Berkeley; The University of Michigan; Washington University in St Louis; and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.[...]
The targeting of students, the attacks on academic freedom and the policing of speech at the university from administrators has also drawn condemnation from several academics and scholars with ties with Columbia.
On Monday, academic Marc Lamont Hill, presidential professor at CUNY, said he would be pulling out of his scheduled lecture from Columbia over the ongoing repression at the university.
Faculty at Columbia and Barnard College on Monday staged a walkout in support of students.
Hours earlier, the Graduate Center Program in English announced a full academic boycott of Columbia and Barnard College "until they reinstate suspended students and respond to their demands: transparency, divestment, liberation".
Several others have released public statements cutting ties with the prestigious university.

Article: 'Laid-Off Dragon Age Testers Will Picket BioWare'
Unionized ex-Keywords devs won the right to protest, against EA's wishes
Excerpt:
"Former quality assurance testers who worked on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf are preparing to picket outside Bioware’s Edmonton offices after being laid off earlier this year. Electronic Arts tried to block the protest but the developers prevailed in a ruling by the Alberta Labour Relations Board in Canada. BioWare laid off 50 employees in August, including some longtime developers whose tenure goes back to the beginning of the Dragon Age series. It also cut its contract with Keywords Studios, which was supplying quality assurance testers on in-development sequel Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. Those same testers had unionized just a year earlier. Last month, they were laid off from Keywords as well, with the outsourcing company blaming it on the loss of the BioWare contract. Now, as first reported by Game Developer, those former Dragon Age testers say they’re planning to picket outside BioWare’s office on November 7 around noon. They are demanding that Keywords reinstate them and continuing bargaining their first contract, calling the layoffs earlier this year a “union busting tactic.” But Keywords doesn’t have any offices in Alberta so they are going to BioWare instead. EA was apparently far from happy about the decision. The publisher tried to force the laid-off developers to take their protest elsewhere, noting that, as fully remote staff, they never technically worked inside BioWare’s Edmonton office. Instead, EA tried to convince the Alberta Labour Relations Board to make them picket outside their homes. The regulators were unmoved, ultimately siding with the workers. “We view this Labor Board ruling as a huge win for not just us, but remote workers everywhere in Canada,” former Keywords tester James Russwurm told Game Developer. “Workers can now go ‘oh, I can picket my employer’s offices downtown even though I didn’t work in the office.’” The ex-testers had been contracted to work at BioWare beginning during the pandemic, first on Mass Effect Legendary Edition and later on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. When BioWare moved to force staff back into the office, the group successfully unionized to try and keep their remote status and improve pay. The Keywords developers were laid off before they could finish bargaining their first contract. EA said at the time that it had previously renewed its contract with Keywords and not doing so in September had nothing to do with the group unionizing. But the publisher has never made clear why it cut staff on a highly anticipated game like Dreadwolf that is still deep in development following several reported internal delays. EA and BioWare did not immediately respond to a request for comment."

Cross-posted from Facebook, via a good friend:
Gooood morning, comrades! My Law360 colleagues and I walked off the job today because LexisNexis tried to illegally fire 10% of our newsrooooom! Corporate announced this plan the same day that they declared high revenue and profit growth. That day, its parent company RELX (which many of my academic friends know — OH BOY do they EVER know — as Reed Elsevier) also announced it would spend $1.25 billion in stock buybacks. Last Friday, the company went ahead with the layoffs and broke the law. The Law360 Union has walked off the job and stands united against these layoffs. We’re demanding they reinstate our colleagues and bargain fairly. You can help by: • Sharing this post and our letter about the illegal layoffs. • Contributing to our strike hardship fund, because we’re all losing pay to make this point. • Contributing to our fund to support our colleagues on the layoff list. • And, most importantly, share this with any legal practitioners, students or scholars you know and ask them to tell Law360 to stop breaking the law! We work hard to provide you with some of the best legal reporting and analysis out there, so now we need you. Help us!

hotch baby blurb about the other members of the bau figuring out they’re dating/nearly dating,, reader as a bau member maybe and like he’s just a bit more protective on cases, always watching her and things, or letting her ride shotgun in the car, or bringing her coffee,, you’re a fantastic writer and i have a burning love for aaron hotchner <3
Thank you, and thank you for requesting lovely!!
It's Aaron's fault that the team find out. It happens on a case. Serial killer, Philadelphia, three days and counting. You don't share a hotel room, you haven't kissed in two days and sixteen hours, and you're honestly going a little crazy. You call shotgun and he drives. Emily and Morgan trade theories in the seat behind.
"It's clearly psycho sexual," Morgan says.
"And clearly a white male," Emily adds.
"The sophistication–" You begin.
"Clearly older. Late 40's."
You glares at him playfully, too playfully considering you're in company of your colleagues, but he's getting too big for his boots — he's admitted that he cuts you off because he knows it irks you and that he likes how your brows pinch together when you're mad. He's flirting with you, and he isn't as casual as he thinks he is.
"You're so rude," you lament. You shouldn't, but Emily and Morgan are still talking.
"Were you saying something?" he asks.
"False apology doesn't suit you, Hotchner–"
"Mm, and what does?"
Your lips part in shock. "Hotch."
He laughs, and it's his fault; he laughs, and Emily and Morgan fall silent. You're about to clear your throat and reinstate the professionalism you're both sorely lacking but Aaron has not gotten the memo, he reaches across the console, his hand drops onto your knee, and he squeezes it like he always does when you're haunting his passenger seat outside of work.
It's too bad you are not outside of work.
"Oh, handsome," you murmur, pitying.
Funnily, it's your use of a pet name that snaps him out of it. He stills completely, eyes glued to the road, and slowly, slowly, removes his hand.
"...Garcia owes me so much money," Morgan says jovially.
You're so relieved that it isn't you (you'd both thought, undoubtedly, that you'd be the one to give it away, because Aaron is usually an impassive wall of stone) that you can't find it in yourself to be generous.
"It wasn't me," you gloat, tone light with awe. "I can't believe it wasn't me. What did you say to me? You said–"
"I know what I said, Agent." There's a slight hint of hoarseness to his chiding.
"Don't be shy, Hotch," Emily says. "We're all friends here."
"Some of us a little more than that," Morgan adds. Their amusement is crystal clear.
Aaron clenches his jaw. You reach right on over and stroke his tensed muscle, because the cat is out of the bag. You worry for a moment, and then his lips quirk up into a reluctant smile.
"I can't believe it was me," he says. You pat his cheek.

An "I'm in Australia, what can I do for Palestine?" masterpost
Petitions:
Petition EN5847 - Provide Consular Support to Palestinian Australian Families (this one closes at 11:59 on the Thursday 15th of February. Please sign before then if you can, and make sure you confirm your email!)
Ask your super fund to divest from companies that support apartheid conditions (Australian Palestinian Action Network)
https://www.aph.gov.au/e-petitions/petition/EN5847
Australia: stop sending arms to Israel (Amnesty International)
Urge Australian Government to Save Local Doctor's Family Trapped in Gaza (petition by family members)
Australia: Reverse decision to suspend UNRWA funding (Amnesty International)
Reinstate UNRWA Funding (Australian Palestinian Action Network)
Grant Palestinians fleeing the conflict in Gaza access to humanitarian support! (Australian Social Workers for Palestine)
Contact your representatives:
Start by finding your MP here
Call or email to ask that Australia push for an immediate ceasefire, provide consular support to family members to leave Gaza, and reinstate UNRWA funding. If that's too much, pick one point to start with! I like to write myself a script before calling, as it removes some of the anxiety. Calling is preferable to emailing, but whatever you have the capacity for is so much better than nothing
Once you've contacted your MP, you can also contact Penny Wong on (08) 8313 8272 or [email protected]
If you can contribute financially:
Donate an eSIM to help Gazans stay connected
Donate to help the most medically vulnerable evacuate Rafah (I completely understand that many people are wary of donating via GoFundMe, but the people involved in this effort do an excellent job at documenting their efforts + keeping records for accountability purposes. Have a look at @raindovemodel @merryfet on instagram for more details
Help El Rahman Inc buy Cairo -> Melbourne tickets for stranded families. They're a Melbourne-based organisation that does amazing work
If you only feel comfortable donating to NGOs, consider the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund, Anera, UNRWA, or the Red Crescent
And, finally:
Come to your local action on Sunday. Even better, bring a friend
If you're a university student, alumni, or prospective student, check whether the institution in question partners with any companies on the BDS list. A disappointingly high number of unis partner with weapons manufacturing companies. If yes, urge them to divest.
Learn the BDS list. Do not purchase anything from companies on the list.

Argumentative?
Pairings: Rafe Cameron X F! Reader Warnings: Soft Rafe (It’s a warning of it’s own), angst, alcohol mention Author’s Note: I’m so on the fence with Rafe cos like he’s obvs a horrible character, but like he’s such a good character. Like he’s sexy and he’s well-written, I love him. But he’s an arsehole, I hate him. yknow
Summary:  You and Rafe never argue, ever.
Tumblr media
Despite Rafe’s hard demeanour, and tendency to need the final word at all times, very seldom did you argue in your relationship. For someone living with so much hatred, it was important to Rafe that you never experienced it.
Typically, you got on well. Similar in interest but completely different in manner. He was the talker, you were the listener. You washed the dishes, he put them away. You simply never fought.
Bickering was different, you’d laugh and joke around, poke holes at a bad haircut and so forth. And naturally, with Rafe, jealousy was a large part of your day-to-day life together, but the anger that came was never directed at you. He knew how un-wandering your eyes were, and he knew how beautiful other people found you. Yes, he’d lose his temper at the Pogue looking you up and down, but no, he would never blame you for it. He knew that you were his.
On the other hand, you were never entirely sure that he was yours. He’d never once cheated, or given you any reason to think that he was, but you were aware of his past when your first met. Aware of the elusive Rafe Cameron who was never tied down for long. Self-consciousness crept in quickly after you’d hit the one-year mark.
A trip to the mainland that you’d chosen to accompany your boyfriend on. Simply a few drinks with some potential clients, Rafe was expected to go following his new position in the family company. The insecurity began when he hadn’t initially invited you, it stayed as you realised how many beautiful women were there - each with eyes on Cameron Development’s newest CEO.
You tried to loop your arm in his, an effort to have the eyes turn away, but Rafe didn’t notice. His hands still tightly in his trouser pocket, networking away. Neither he, or the leggy brunette in front of him noticed as you slipped from his side and found the open bar.
10 Minutes and 3 miscellaneous drinks later, he found you. Tucked away and sipping your straw.
“Hey,” he soothes, “Where ya been?”
You look to him, “Here.” you state, plain and simple.
“Obviously,” He tries to jest, “Why did you leave me?”
“I came for a drink.”
“Why didn’t you come back?”
“Why are you suddenly so interested?”
I must reinstate that you never fought, so anything more than some hushed words, or a light squabble, seriously neared separate bed territory. What might have been a heated conversation to some couples, was a raging bullfight to the pair of you. Rafe had so much of that for the rest of his life. He was adamant that it would never happen with you.
“Let's go outside.” He states; much less a suggestion than a direction, and leads you out a back door to one of Charleston’s quiet alleyways.
“Talk,” he ordered, hands on each of your arms.
You shrug, “I’ve nothing to say.”
Rafe kisses his teeth, looking away, “Have I done something?” He asks, a hint of insecurity in his tone.
You can’t quite answer, because truthfully he hadn’t. He’d never given you a reason to feel insecure, you just did anyway. Something about knowing that you were never invited, knowing that if you hadn’t decided you’d come along, he’d probably be off with some other woman.
“I shouldn’t have come,” you finally admit, “I should have just let you get on with it like you normally do. Stayed blissfully unaware.”
His eyes squint, “Y/N, I want you here. I have nothing to hide from you?’
You chuckle, it’s hearty but without an ounce of humour to it. “What? Do you think I’m blind or something?” Rafe stands unmoving, taking in your words, “I see you in there, they eat you up, and you feed into it!”
“How do I feed into it?” He’s strangely calm, anger in his tone, but only a whisper of it.
“You flirt! You smile, you complement, you completely ignore that I’m right next to you. Rafe, you don’t even introduce me as your girlfriend-”
“Because I thought it was obvious!”
“It’s not!” You shout, “It’s fucking not.”
The alleyway is quiet again. Muffled voices and music come from inside the door, and a handful of cars driving down the main road a few meters away provide the only light. You see Rafe’s face for a second as they pass by.
“How can other people see that I’m your girlfriend, when I don’t even feel like I am.”
His hands drop to his sides as he inhales shakily. Not a word is spoken, but tears fall from your eyes. Rafe watches them glide, mouth slightly agape. He stands a second more before pulling you into his embrace.
You’d try to fight it, but that’s the last thing you want to do right now.
“I’m sorry,” Rafe whispers, lips grazing your forehead, “I’m so sorry, Baby”
You want to assure him it’s fine, but it’s not. You were dancing on the grounds of breakup territory, and neither of you wanted that.
“I notice things, Rafe. And you forget that I know your history, I knew who you were before.”
“I’m not him anymore.”
You hesitate your answer, “I know that-”
“Do you?” He asks, pulling away to see your face. His eyes are growing red, obviously fighting back the urge to cry with you, “Because it sounds like you don’t. And I’m not that guy any more, I want you.”
“Do you?”
His words used back on him. Normally he’d continue this argument, fight his way through to victory. Finish the battle with the last word, and full disregard to the other person’s feelings. But, he couldn’t this time. He could never fight with you.
“More than anything.”
Tears fall from his eyes, water staining the silk shirt he wears under his blazer. He doesn’t care, eyes boring into yours, awaiting your words.
"Okay."

It’s Time to Roast Starbucks For Union Busting
Starbucks should be getting publicly roasted for union busting and refusing to even negotiate with unionized workers.
You see, if there’s one thing I love more than coffee, it’s unions. Because unions perk up pay.
And if there’s one thing I hate more than corporations who try to bust unions, it’s having to make my own coffee every morning.
I may be known for a lot of things, but making a good cup of coffee isn’t one of them.
I was thrilled to hear about workers in Starbucks’ stores across the country exercising their right to unionize.
A cup of solidarity brewed by a unionized barista? What could be better than that?
Definitely not me being my own barista.
Starbucks is a multibillion dollar company. Its new CEO will start with a pay package estimated to be worth over $28 million dollars. That’s roughly 800x the pay of the workers who actually brew and serve the coffee the business is built on — and who barely earn a living wage.
That’s why those workers have begun to unionize.
Since December 2021, Starbucks Workers United has won union elections in more than 300 Starbucks stores, covering more than 8,000 workers and counting.
And most of the union campaigns in individual stores won by overwhelming margins, gaining more than 70% of the total votes — and in parts of the country where private sector unions rarely win.
The Starbucks union campaign has inspired young workers across the country and breathed life into a U.S. labor movement that has been stagnant for decades.
It’s been so successful that Starbucks briefly brought its former CEO, billionaire Howard Schultz, out of retirement to bust the union, and still refuses to even sit down at the bargaining table.
That’s why I’ve been boycotting Starbucks.
As part of its campaign to tamp down further unionization, Starbucks corporate has fired scores of pro-union workers, closed stores that have unionized, threatened to withhold wage and benefit improvements from stores considering unionizing, and packed stores with outside managers to undermine organizing efforts.
The National Labor Relations Board, which oversees all union elections in the U.S., has issued more than 93 complaints covering 328 unfair labor practice charges against Starbucks — and ordered reinstatement of at least 23 fired workers so far.
Yet Starbucks is unwilling to change its anti-union ways — even though Schultz was grilled in front of Congress
Starbucks claims to be a “progressive” company.
But based on the way it’s broken labor law and put unionized workers in the percolator, that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Now is an opportunity for all of us to make our voices heard and to tell Starbucks to stop UNION BUSTING and bargain in good faith with Starbucks Workers United.
And it’s time for Joe Biden, who calls himself the “most pro-union president in American history,” to send a powerful message: we won’t tolerate union-busting by Starbucks or any other corporation — including Elon Musk’s Tesla and Jeff Bezos’s Amazon.
Otherwise, my boycott will continue — and perhaps you’ll consider joining me.
If we want to brew a future where workers have power and dignity, then we need to show solidarity with unions…
And stand up to corporate bullying.

Corporate tax hike advocate Tim Walz had his China travel company shut down by the Nebraska government for failing to pay a minor business operating tax in 1998, according to corporate records.
Educational Travel Adventures, Inc., which Walz founded with his wife in 1995 to run group trips to China, was dissolved by Nebraska’s secretary of state for "non-payment of occupational taxes"—just $26 annually—in April 1998. The company was left defunct for years, even as Walz continued to organize group tours to China.
In 2008, after Walz was elected to Congress, he repaid 10 years of back taxes and interest, amounting to $235, to get the company reinstated, records show.

Prompt 9 - Hurt/Comfort
@wolfstarmicrofic July 9, word count 999
CW - Previous torture mention but not described, blood
He coughed in the dark, his bones aching and the wounds he’d inflicted upon himself still oozing as they slowly healed. It had been three months since Bellatrix moved him into this dungeon.
The door opened as a house elf came to give him his food for the day. The weak light from the torches outside the cell showed where his claws had dug deep into the stone when he’d transformed.
“Here you are, mister Sirius, sir,” Rorbey bowed to him nervously and floated the meagre offering over to him. Sirius snatched the heel of bread from the air and gnawed at it hungrily as the chunk of cheese, a small pile of roast pork and a flask of pumpkin juice came to rest on the ground in front of him. “If you please, mister Sirius sir, they is talking about yous upstairs. Rorbey is hearing they is moving yous sir. Rorbey thought you might want to be knowing,” The elf wrung his hands together. Rorbey had been an unexpected ally. He was a Black family elf and since Regulus’s disappearance, Sirius was technically the sole heir again, so Rorbey had felt bound to serve him.
“Thank you Rorbey,” Sirius mumbled around his mouthful of food.
He and Remus had been captured and brought to Lestrange castle. They were flung into a cell and left to stew. He’d tried calling out when Remus had started transforming. Somehow, they hadn’t realised what Remus was or Bellatrix had thought it hilarious and ignored his cries. Sirius had resigned himself to what was about to happen, he just hoped it would be quick and not hurt too much. He’d stared into the yellow eyes that he knew so well as the giant maw opened and bit down on his shoulder.
They’d given them both magic suppressant potions and, while the wolf could not be stopped from appearing, Padfoot could. He’d woken up in this cell, surprised to be alive. His pleas to know where Remus was fell on deaf ears until Rorbey had found him. It turned out Remus had been given to Fenrir Greyback and was no longer in the castle.
He still had those first bite marks, scared deep into his skin. Bellatrix would sometimes appear and torture him when she remembered he was still down there. But other than that, he was left alone. Then, on that first full moon since Remus had bitten him, he experienced pain worse than anything he’d ever felt before. He’d woken up to broken, bleeding fingernails and more cuts than he could count.
The door swung open again, banging off the wall.
“Come along, Black the Dark Lord wishes for the pleasure of your company.” Rabastan Lestrange cackled at him as he dragged Sirius from his cell by his hair.
He was thrown on a rug in front of a roaring fire. The warmth instantly soothing his sore bones. A wand was pressed into his throat, forcing his chin up into the face of Lord Voldemort himself.
“My dear Lord Black, I hear you’ve had a terrible accident while in your cousin’s care. I can only apologise profusely.” The room broke into a cacophony of laughter. “Yes, yes my dear friends, what a terrible accident. But Lord Black, you will be thrilled to learn that we have a new purpose for you, if you will.” Voldemort’s lipless mouth widened in an approximation of a smile.
The flames in the fire turned green, and Fenrir Greyback walked out, patting soot from his clothes.
“My Lord,” He bowed deeply as he addressed Voldemort.
“Ah, Greyback, excellent timing. I was just explaining to Lord Black about his new role amongst us.” Voldemort waved the werewolf nearer. “You Lord Black will be joining Mr Greyback’s pack,” Voldemort sneered at the word, but recovered himself as he continued. “Fenrir, you will do what needs to be done to ensure he follows instructions. And Lord Black, if you prove yourself to be a valued member of our organisation, I may find it within myself to reinstate you in your family seat, now that poor Regulus is no longer with us.”
Sirius had been trying to control himself the entire time Voldemort had been talking. He knew he was no match for Voldemort, especially in his condition. So he allowed Greyback to grasp his shoulder exactly where Remus had bitten him and drag him towards the fire. “Until we meet again,” Voldemort cackled gleefully as Sirius and Fenrir spun out of sight.
They walked out of the fireplace into an abandoned house. Fenrir didn’t let go of him though and quickly apparated them away. They landed in a small grassy clearing with a huge forest pressing in on them.
Sirius pulled himself away from Greyback’s grasp. The werewolf let him go. He fell to the ground and breathed in deep lungfuls of fresh air. When he looked up, men and women were emerging from the trees coming to stand in a ring around him.
“Children meet your new brother, Sirius Black.” Greyback opened his arms to them. “Clean him up and make sure he’s fed and make sure he understands the rules.” Greyback walked through the circle and disappeared into the gloom.
Sirius was stripped, scrubbed roughly with cold water until he was clean, had his wounds tended to and was finally sat down beside a crackling fire with a bowl of some sort of stew. He didn’t dare ask what was in it.
He finished his food and was just about to ask what was going to happen to him when another wolf walked out of the trees.
He dropped the bowl with a clatter and ran into the arms of the man he loved.
“Remus,” He sighed as Remus enveloped him in his long arms and woodsy scent. Sirius buried his face in Remus’s knit jumper and cried.
“I’m so sorry, Sirius,” Remus told him, his voice thick with emotion. “Everything will be okay, I’ve got you, sweetheart.”

Reuters: "Home Depot Ban on Worker's Black Lives Matter Apron Was Illegal, US Agency Rules."
From the article:
Feb 21 (Reuters) - Home Depot violated U.S. labor law by barring a retail worker from wearing an apron that said "BLM" in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, a federal labor board ruled on Wednesday. The National Labor Relations Board in a 3-1 decision said the worker's refusal to remove the writing from the apron was protected by federal law because it came amid complaints about racial discrimination by employees at the New Brighton, Minnesota store. The worker, Antonio Morales, who uses they/them pronouns, in 2021 was told not to return to work with the altered apron and quit in response. Morales and other workers at the store had previously raised concerns about racial harassment and discrimination, and wearing the BLM apron was a "logical outgrowth" of those complaints, the NLRB said. The labor board found that Home Depot broke the law by forcing Morales to quit because they had advocated for better working conditions, which is considered protected conduct under U.S. labor law. The board said Morales did not have to explicitly link the apron to a workplace protest because, in light of the complaints about discrimination, "the BLM symbol accumulated meaning relevant to working conditions there." Home Depot was ordered to reinstate Morales and compensate them for lost pay and benefits. The company, which can appeal the decision to a federal appeals court, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
