Hangover Cures (one shot)
Regulus Black AU
Summary:  After a night out drinking, Regulus has his own hangover cures.
Pairings: Regulus Black x Reader
Rating: Mature- smut
_______
It was a Saturday morning and the happy sounds of birds chipping pulled you from your peaceful slumber. Yawning, you sat up and rubbed your eyes. As everything came into focus, you realized that Regulus wasn’t in bed with you.
Strange, he said that he would be home by midnight.
Getting out of bed, you walked down the hallway and into the living room. You stopped when you realized that Regulus had, in fact, made it home. He had only fallen asleep on the couch… half-naked. You raised an eyebrow as your eyes looked down at his half-naked body. The poor boy looked like he had managed to get his shirt off before just crawling on the couch and calling it a night.
You quietly walked over to the couch and gently tapped Regulus’ shoulder.
“Love, why don’t you come to get in bed? You don’t look comfortable at all.”
Regulus half yawned and muttered something that was muffled by the pillow.
“Regulus, wake up. Your neck is going to be hurting and I will never hear the end of it.”
You said, a little more loudly. Regulus opened one eye and looked at you a moment before reaching out and pulling you onto the couch with him. You shrieked at first, totally not expecting his action.
“Regulus, I swear god…”
“Don’t swear to him. We aren’t having any problems.”
Regulus said, before shooting you a little smirk. You rolled your eyes and tried to move to snuggle down against his side.
“Why don’t you just get up and go to bed? Clearly, you are half-wasted. How did you get home anyway?”
You asked as Regulus yawned.
“Evan, I don’t know how nor do I want to know. I feel fine though. I would feel better if you sat on my face.”
Your eyes widened your core instantly began to crave any attention that Regulus would give you.
“Regulus, did you really just…”
“I want you to sit on my face and make me feel better.”
Regulus replied before taking your hand and putting it on his hard cock. Biting your lip, you pressed your thighs together.
“Regulus, how can you even think of that when you are possibly hungover.”
Regulus opened both eyes before slipping his hand between your legs. Just as he suspected, you were wet.
“We are good at morning sex. It’s morning and licking your twat will make me feel even better. So, what do you say, princess? I mean, we don’t have to but you are pretty wet.”
Regulus was pleased when you quickly got off of the couch and shed your silk robe.
“That’s what I thought.”
Regulus replied in a haughty tone. You meanwhile, shook your head as you slowly positioned yourself on top of your lover.
“And you are a cocky shit”
You grumbled. Regulus chuckled before licking his lips. This was what he would wake up to every morning. As much as he enjoyed sex, he enjoyed spending his time with his face shoved between your legs. Regulus often teased you that you had the most beautiful pussy that he had ever seen. When you rolled your eyes and told him to fuck off, he would reply with “Well, it is…why don’t you think that I can’t get enough?”
Regulus let his eyes roll up to your face before licking the entire length of your slit. When you lightly gasped, Regulus continued to lightly explore with his tongue.
“Reggie, it feels so good.”
You sighed as he began to pay attention to your clit. He gently sucked at your clit a for a moment before shoving his face right back in. Regulus took a few breaths to glance up at your face.
“Of course, she has that look on her face. No other man would be able to make her come as I can.”
Regulus thought before reaching out to place his hands on your ass and push your body further onto him. Your head fell back as you tried to think of anything to stop yourself from coming. Regulus knew exactly how to touch you to make you come apart. Whether it was something simply like fingering you in the kitchen to your current position practically fucking his perfect face.
“I’m so close.”
You whimpered as Regulus licked up your clit. He pressed a kiss to the top of your mound before lying his head backward.
“Hurry up and come so I can take you to bed and get my cock wet.”
Regulus gave you a raised eyebrow scowl before going right back to attacking your clit. One more gentle nibble was all it took to send you spiraling over the edge.
As you recovered from your orgasm, Regulus maneuvered his way to standing. He tightened his arms around your body and started toward the bedroom.
“Come on, love, I need some loving.”

poly!moonwater x potter!reader who has so many nicknames (trouble, ickle potter, little lion, treasure, amour, dove, etc.) that her boys are the only ones who remember her actual first name. please and thank you.
hehehehehhehehehehehehe
poly!moonwater x Potter!reader who is called anything but her name [1.2k words]
CW: siblings, swearing, background prongsfoot, Peter fearing for his life
….and tell your brother to try to avoid any more detentions between now and Christmas, okay? Love and miss you, my little lion.
“Jamie!” You called as you made it into The Three Broomsticks, shaking the chill off of your jacket as you folded the letter back up.
“What?”
“Mum says to fuck off with the detentions for the rest of the year.” You responded as you took a seat, reaching over Sirius to grab a chip from his and James’ plate only for James to snatch it out from under you.
“I have a hard time believing that the lovely Euphemia Potter said her beloved son should fuck off with the detentions, Trouble.” Sirius chided as he shook his head at you, though he moved the plate back within your reach and allowed you to help yourself.
“Honest to Merlin, hand to my heart.” You responded solemnly as you handed him the letter, watching as he furrowed his brows and held it out in front of him as if it were a royal decree.
“Well would you look at that,” Sirius murmured, “she really did tell ya to fuck off, babe.”
James made a tsking sound as he snatched the letter out of his boyfriend’s hand. “Yeah, yeah, yeah. Message received, bug.”
“What did the little ickle Potter do now?” Peter asked as he plopped himself down in the booth beside James, ruffling his friends hair causing James to aggressively swat his hands away. “I only ever see James this worked up when his sister’s around.”
“The fuck did you just call her?” You heard Barty demand from the other end of the pub, kneeling on the booth and peering over the other Slytherin’s to level Peter with a severe glare. “That witch is a Treasure, Pettigrew, and you will address her as such.”
“Merlin’s beard…” Peter muttered as James snorted at his expense. “Okay…okay, sorry Junior.”
“You will be.” Barty spat menacingly before he slowly lowered himself back into his seat.
“Oh don’t mind him, Pete.” You offered jovially. “He’s harmless.”
Your sentiment was severely undermined by Evan and Barty who had their heads lowered together as they kept their predatory gazes locked on the - now pale in the face - Gryffindor boy, though.
“It’s hard to know what to call you sometimes.” Peter offered with a nervous shiver as he pulled his attention away from the otherside of the pub. “You’ve got so many.”
“So many, what?” Lily asked as she took a seat at your table.
“Names.” James said around a mouthful of chips. “She was called about four just now.”
“Ickle Potter.” Peter whispered as he eyed Barty carefully.
“Trouble.” Sirius offered.
“lovebug.” James carried on.
“And Treasure, according to Junior.” Peter continued.
Lily hummed thoughtfully. “Four nicknames, that’s not bad.”
“Your mum called you her little lion in her letter.” Sirius added.
“There you are, amour.” Regulus sounded from behind you as he and Remus entered the pub; the three of you having split up to run to the post whilst Remus joined Regulus to Pippin’s Potions for a few supplies.
“Amour.” Lily, James, and Sirius all chorused as Peter chuckled, causing Remus and Regulus to slow their strides and their brows to pinch in bemusement.
“What’s going on?” Remus chuckled somewhat nervously as he pressed a kiss to your hair before taking a seat beside you.
“We were just talking about your girlfriend’s names.” Lily explained.
“Names?” Remus laughed as he turned back to you. “How many do you have?”
“Apparently a lot.”
“Why? What’s wrong with ‘Y/N’?” He asked, and the entire table fell quiet.
“Why would you call me that?” You asked as steadily as you could manage. Remus’ brows pinched again before he turned to look at the table worriedly.
“Remus.” You begged. “Why would you call me that?”
“What? Call you what? Your name?”
“That’s so rude, Rem.” You whined, your pout almost turning into a snicker when you heard Regulus breathe out a chuckle from behind you when he caught on, though you managed to hold strong.
“I…I don’t understand what I’ve done wrong. What- why can’t I call you by your name?”
You let out what sounded like a breathy sob as you turned towards Regulus and pushed your face into his chest. “He’s so mean to me, Reg.”
Regulus made a sympathetic sound as he circled his arms around you. “My poor girl.”
“That was cold, Remus. Stone cold.” Sirius stated solemnly. “If James were a better brother, he’d beat you up for this.”
“I’m a perfectly fine brother, thank you.” James protested immediately.
“I don’t see you fighting to defend Trouble’s honour.” Sirius argued.
Remus looked between his two oldest friends for but a moment longer before he turned to see your shoulders shaking as you hid in Regulus’ chest.
“Dovey.” Remus cooed, moving to reach out to place a comforting hand on your shoulder only for you to jump up and turn to expose a beaming smile on your face. “What the hell was that about?”
“How many is that?” You asked no one in particular, though Peter, Lily, James, and Sirius all chorused “seven”.
“For Godric’s sake; was this all over a silly nickname?” Remus asked in faux admonishment as he turned to level you with a look that did not translate when he was smiling at you like the lovesick fool he was.
“It’s not a silly nickname.” You denied immediately, eyes soft and smile softer as you leaned further into him. “I love it.”
“You really had him there for a moment, amour. I think he actually thought you were sobbing into my shirt over something he’d done.” Regulus offered, shooting Remus a wink when he tried to scowl at his boyfriend.
“It’s not easy to trick Moony so it’s always extra fun to see him sweat.” James agreed.
“You should spend more time with us, Trouble; see what other pranks you can help us out with.”
“Sorry lads.” Remus said as he rested his arm over the back of your chair and trailed his thumb over your neck where the fabric of your jumper gave way to skin. “This dove is our Trouble.”
“And Treasure.” Regulus added as he knocked his ankle into yours under the table.
“My little lion.” Remus whispered into your cheek, causing you to curl into yourself at the tickles from his breath.
“My lovebug.” Regulus chuckled.
“Should we go on?”
“No, no. Merlin’s saggy balls, we get it.” James groaned as he rubbed his eyes harshly under his glasses. “You guys are disgusting.”
“No more disgusting than you and Pads all wound up after a win.” Remus retorted, causing Peter to nearly spit out his butterbeer.
“Alright, alright.” You relented. “I think there are a few too many siblings here to be talking about this right now.”
“Agreed.” Regulus and Sirius chorused before glaring at each other.
Remus simply chuckled and pressed another kiss into your hair. “Sorry dove.”
“You’re forgiven, Moons.”

mean husband!Regulus Black who swears that every time he spills his cum into you, it's just his duty as a Lord so you can give him his pureblood heir. It's not because of how cute the dress looked on you and it would look even cuter on you when you're pregnant.
mean husband!Regulus Black who gets hard when you smile at him so prettily and wants to wreck you whenever you insult him ten times worse than he does. you're not afraid of him, he loves that. Thrives on the fact that he can make your bratty mouth drool with his fingers and tongue only.
mean husband!Regulus Black who loves you, truly loves you but won't ever admit it out loud unless you're unconscious from a heavy session of getting bred and he kisses your forehead, oh so gently, and whispers, "My darling, my love." He kisses your cheek, "Oh, how you have my heart, sweet." He is unaware of the fact that sometimes you're aware and that you hear his words and it just makes you fall harder for him every time.

The Deer, The Dog, And The Two Wolves
summary: remus meets another wolf
word count: 2.3k
Tumblr media
“I mean, did you see her? Talk about fit!” Sirius laughed, walking through the portrait into their common room. He was talking about the new girl, the girl who had started halfway through the semester.
Poor girl was paraded in front of the whole school for her sorting. She was obviously embarrassed and uncomfortable to be the center of the whole school’s attention.
“Too bad she was sorted into Slytherin,” Sirius said as he threw himself across a sofa in the middle of the common room, “I would have liked to get to know her.” This made Lily and Mary scoff from the opposite couch in front of the fireplace.
“Why’s she starting in the middle of the semester?” James asked.
“Maybe she just moved here.” Lily supplied.
“Lucky her,” James said, “she just missed midterm exams.” Everyone chuckled at that.
While everyone was conversing and laughing, Remus had dread looming over him. His muscles began to ache and he could feel the effects of the approaching full moon. The moon would be tomorrow night, but Remus had been feeling it all week. After a while of chatting, all he wanted to do was crawl into bed.
“I am quite tired,” Remus said, standing and motioning for the boys to follow. “I’ll see you guys tomorrow?”
“Yeah! Just meet us in hogsmeade.” Mary says.
Remus nods, the other boys say their goodnights and they all make their way up to their room. As soon as the door was shut behind them, Remus was falling into bed.
“What is the plan for tomorrow?” James asked, they usually had no trouble sneaking out and waiting in the shrieking shack for Remus, but this time, the girls insisted the boys come with them to hogsmeade for the day. Only Lily knew about Remus, so sneaking away was going to be harder than normal.
“I was thinking I could cut away from the group with Remus and we could head to the shack while you help Lily distract the others.” Sirius said, having planned that out fairly quickly. “That sound alright?” he asked Remus.
Remus was too tired, too weary to answer vocally so he just nodded. The boys looked at him with pity, they knew how he was feeling, so they just opted to let him sleep.
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
The day spent in Hogsmeade was lovely, despite the pain and tenseness that Remus felt, he still enjoyed himself.
They made their way from shop to shop, buying candies from Honeydukes and gadgets from Zonkos. The girls begged to stop by Gladrags and the boys reluctantly agreed.
“Fine,” James said, rolling his eyes, “but only because I need a new tie.”
The group piled into the shop, the girls immediately rushing towards the new dresses and coats, Remus and Sirius turned to browse the rings and necklaces.
Remus felt… odd. He felt the hairs on his neck stand and a chill run down his spine, immediately set on edge. He had never felt this before, a new experience for him. He put himself on high alert, scanning the shop, but seeing or sensing nothing out of the ordinary, just that unfamiliar tingle.
“Dear Merlin,” Sirius muttered from beside him. Remus followed his gaze across the shop to see Regulus. It seemed like the brothers noticed each other at the same time, because Regulus turned to his group of friends, and they swiftly exited.
“Still in a spat?” Remus asked Sirius.
Sirius huffed and replied “I don’t wanna talk about it.”
Remus left it alone, seeing as the day was going very well, he didn’t want to ruin it in any way.
James got his tie and the girls all bought different clothes and were ready to continue on. It was getting later in the day, the sun would set soon, so Remus wanted to finish the trip.
“Butterbeer, anyone?” he asked and the whole group perked up and started down the street towards The Three Broomsticks.
Remus opened the door for the group, allowing everyone in, before stepping in himself. Once inside, that grating feeling was back. He looked around again, but was met with the same outcome, there was nothing awry. Confused, he just figured the moon was messing with his senses.
The group found a table towards the back of the pub and they all squeezed in. Remus found himself sandwiched between Marlene and James. The whole bunch was lively as ever, laughing and joking, talking about everything and nothing at all.
The witch who ran the pub asked the table for their orders and James ordered butterbeers for the whole table. So typical of James, to order and pay for everyone, spend his fortune on his friends and a good time.
Mary gasped from across the table, making everyone turn their attention to her. “Don't look now,” she said, “but that new girl is sitting with the Slytherins.”
The whole table snapped their necks toward where Mary was looking.
“I said don’t look!” she squealed.
She was right, the new girl was sitting next to Dorcas and across from Regulus, looking like she was in a deep conversation with them. But, almost like she felt their eyes on her, she looked over to them. The whole group tried to turn and make it look like they weren’t just staring at her(it was so obvious), but she caught Remus’s eye before he could look away.
It was like she looked directly into his soul, and there was that feeling again. Remus could have sworn she sat up straighter, taken by surprise for some reason. She narrowed her eyes at him, looked him up and down, then returned to her conversation.
Odd…
Their butterbeers arrived and Remus put the interaction aside, deciding to just enjoy the rest of the time he had with his friends. Once the group finished, Sirius casually yawned and turned to Remus. “Fancy a smoke?” he asked. Remus nodded and exited the pub with Sirius.
They began their journey to the shrieking shack, Remus feeling the nip in the air, but also that feeling. He took a cigarette out of his jacket pocket, handed one to Sirius, then lit them both. Perhaps a smoke would ease the odd sensation. Walking in comfortable silence, taking drags of their cigarettes, the boys eventually ended up at the shack.
Remus dropped the butt of his cigarette and snuffed it out with his shoe, Sirius taking one last drag, then doing the same.
“Now,” Sirius started, “James will meet up with us but it’s business as usual right?”
Remus nodded. “Yeah, just try to stay in the forest like normal.”
“Gotcha,” Sirius replied. “Gotta lock you in now, Moons.”
Remus opened the door to the shack and stepped inside. He pulled the door closed and heard Sirius mutter the spell to magically seal him in until he transformed, then one of them would open the door and they would spend the whole night racing and playing in the woods in their animal forms.
Remus didn’t enjoy a lot of his lycanthropy, but being able to run in an animalistic way with his best mates, that was one thing he did enjoy.
Remus made his way upstairs to the old, beaten up bedroom, and layed on the bed. He began waiting for the transformation.
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
Something was off, Sirius could tell. He and James, who had broken away from the group finally, were sitting at the edge of the forest.
They heard Remus transforming, which was never easy, but this time it seemed that he was having a particularly rough time. James winced from beside Sirius and shook his head. Once they were certain he was fully changed, James magically unlocked the door.
They both transformed into their animagus form, but Remus didn’t come out. Sirius and James looked at each other and Sirius went inside to check on Remus, coax him out of the shack.
Sirius padded upstairs, expecting to see the wolf destroying something or clawing at the furniture, but he was met with a completely different scene entirely. The wolf was pacing around the room in a circle, sniffing the air and whining. When it saw the black dog that had entered, it perked up, but still looked around, as if looking for someone else.
The dog raced downstairs, goading the wolf to chase it. The wolf gave in easily and followed the dog down the stairs and out of the house where they were met with the large stag. The wolf tackled the deer, rolling and play-fighting until the wolf’s ears perked up. It snapped it’s head to the forest and bolted.
The dog and the deer had no chance to wrangle it before it slipped through the tree line and into the dark forest beyond. The dog and the deer looked at each other and then dashed after the wolf.
Sirius didn't understand what had gotten into the wolf, but raced as fast as he could to catch up.
That is when the howl came from deep in the forest. Everything stopped, the whole forest seeming to be silenced. Then the answering howl sounded.
The deer and the dog followed the sound to an opening in the forest, a small field with a large oak in the center. They expected to find Moony there, chasing something, but they were not expecting to see two wolves circling each other.
They hung back at the tree line, watching but ready to protect Remus if anything were to happen.
The other wolf was smaller, a female, but just as dangerous, still a werewolf.
The two wolves continued circling each other, tense. The smaller wolf noticed the dog and the stag at the forest’s edge, and growled, hackles raising. Moony stepped between her and his friends, protecting them, and growled deep back at her. The other wolf turned her attention to him now, focusing all her anger at him.
Moony wasn’t backing down, determined to protect the dog and the stag behind him. He clawed at her, catching her right under the eye. She wasted no time in returning the favor, and swiped right back at him, getting him good.
Moony, shocked, stepped back and sat down, like a dog asking for a treat. The other wolf blinked, then mirrored his actions. Moony pounced and ran off, the other wolf following, chasing.
They were playing.
The dog and the deer looked at each other, then back to the two wolves, then joined in.
It was slightly harder, keeping track of two wolves rather than just the one, but at least they could rough-house with each other and not be too afraid to hurt the other, like Remus often was with Sirius or James.
The two wolves raced each other and swam in the lake, the whole group having fun, until Sirius noticed the morning light. Dawn would break soon and Remus would transform back, they needed to get him back to the shack. Moony, however, was being more difficult than normal.
The moment Sirius and James tried to corral him and chase him back to the shack, Moony refused. He kept wandering over to the other wolf, trying to continue to play. So James and Sirius decided that both the wolves had to be wrangled into the shack, if that was the only way to get Remus back in.
That task was incredibly difficult, Moony bouncing all over the place and the other wolf threatening to snap at the boys if they got too close. They eventually managed to lock both the wolves in the shack with minimal damage.
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
Remus woke on the floor of the bedroom feeling more tired than he had ever been after a full moon. He felt like he could sleep for ages. His aching body needed all the rest it could get.
Small moments from the night came back to him and suddenly…
He snapped his head toward the bed to see a sleeping figure curled up in the old and torn blankets. That feeling tingled the back of his neck again.
The figure sat straight up, feeling the same feeling. Remus knew that face, the new girl. She made direct eye contact with him, then quickly scanned the room, unsure of where she was.
He could see she was scared, so he calmly said “It’s ok, you’re ok.”
She looked at him unsure. “W-where are we?” she asked, voice a little raw.
“This is called the shrieking shack, it's where I come… to transform.” Remus answered, still trying to calm her and get her to trust him.
“You’re the wolf I was with last night?” she asked, more like putting the pieces together.
Remus nodded. “My name’s Remus.” He smiled.
“Y/N” she answered.
“Nice to meet you Y/N.” He said, noticing how she seemed to start relaxing.
“And… that dog and the deer?” she asked.
Remus chuckled, not knowing exactly how to answer that. “They’re harmless.”
She nodded and they sat in silence for a minute before she spoke again. “I didn’t know there were others… like me.” she said.
Remus didn’t know how to talk about this with anyone, he had never met another werewolf. All he could seem to do was nod.
“H-how long have you been… you know…” she asked timidly.
Remus smiled sadly. “‘I was bitten when I was really young, about three.” He answered.
Her eyes widened and she gasped. “Three!?” she looked in disbelief. “I am so sorry, you’ve had to deal with this for a long time…”she trailed off. “I was bitten a couple years ago. That's why I transferred schools, the other one kicked me out, thought that I was a danger to the other students.”
“I am so sorry,” this time it was Remus’s turn to feel bad.
She smiled sadly. “It’s ok, besides, now I know someone else like me.”

hiiii ʚ₍ᐢ. .ᐢ₎ɞ i just found your page this morning and read through your entire masterlist and i loveeee your writing! is it possible to get royal poly!marauders at a ball or something and they catch sight of the reader (can be whatever role you wanna give them) and they are like 'damn'
Hello hello~!!!
First of all, thank you so much for patiently waiting for me to get to your request. Life has been pretty hectic on my end, so writing had to take a back seat for a little while. But today, I finally had some time to sit down and write!
Now, let me just say— this idea is absolutely amazing! I’m completely in love with royal and historical AUs, so there’s a good chance I’ll revisit this concept and or turn it into a series of drabbles. (Not that I’m particularly skilled at keeping things short!!!)
I really hope you enjoy my take on your idea 💖
edit: I got a bit carried away-
Pairing: Poly!Marauders x Fem!Reader WC: 3.7k
The night after the neighboring kingdom’s delegation arrives, the Griffyn Kingdom buzzes with anticipation. To honor their esteemed guests— especially the visiting princess —the King and Queen have announced a grand ball. This celebration is more than an act of hospitality; it is a shining declaration of unity, a glittering prelude to alliances and promises that will shape their shared future.
You find yourself standing in Princess Lily’s chambers, the soft glow of candlelight casting flickering shadows against the ornate walls.
Before you, Lily examines herself in a floor-length mirror, her emerald-green gown a masterpiece of silk and embroidery. You and Mary fuss over the gathered fabric at her hips, smoothing it into place with careful precision.
“I can manage the rest,” Lily murmurs, her voice gentle but decisive. She steps away, gliding toward the gilded jewelry box on her dressing table. Its lid is open, revealing an array of jewels she brought for the journey— diamonds, emeralds, and sapphires glittering alongside an assortment of tiaras.
“You two should get ready as well,” she adds, her tone as light as the shimmering necklace she picks up, its facets catching the firelight.
You pause, caught off guard. “What?” The word escapes before you can stop yourself.
Normally, Marlene would stand guard in her knightly uniform, Mary would accompany Lily throughout the event, and you would remain behind— content to watch the festivities from a quiet corner of the castle, keeping a vigilant eye on the princess’s chambers.
“There’s no need for that tonight,” Mary says, her voice warm with reassurance. She steps forward, deftly fastening the diamond necklace around Lily’s neck. The glittering stones resting perfectly against the princess’s pale freckled skin. “We’re on excellent terms with the Potters. No one here will mean us harm.”
The words hang in the air, both an assurance and an invitation. Tonight is different, you realize.
A diamond tiara rests atop Lily’s head, its intricate design sparkling like a constellation of stars nestled in her fiery red locks. She adjusts it briefly, her reflection regal and resplendent. “You rarely get a chance to enjoy yourself during visits like this,” she says softly, her tone kind but firm. “Go on, get ready.”
You nod, a small smile playing on your lips, touched by Lily’s thoughtfulness. Her generosity warms you in a way words could never fully express.
With her gentle urging, you retreat to your own room to prepare. A quick bath washes away the lingering weariness of the day, and you do your best to ready yourself for the night ahead.
Despite your efforts, a sense of inadequacy lingers.
For such grand occasions, it’s expected that the lady's maids and companions are impeccably dressed, each carrying at least one formal gown for travels like these.
You do have such a dress— a blush colored piece gifted to you by your mother when you first joined the palace as Lily’s lady’s maid.
The fabric clings just a little too tightly at the waist, its once flawless seams now strained from years of careful reuse. The soft blush color, though elegant, has faded slightly with time, its original vibrancy dulled by repeated wear. The bodice is adorned with modest embroidery— delicate vines and blossoms stitched in pale gold thread that catches the light just enough to hint at refinement. The skirt, while gracefully cut, feels heavier than you remember, its weight pulling at your movements as if to remind you of the weight of high society.
It was the best your family could afford when you first came to the palace— a gift from your mother, its fabric chosen to honor both simplicity and a touch of nobility. Back then, it had been a symbol of hope, a token of pride for a baroness’s daughter stepping into the royal household.
Now, however, standing before the mirror, you can’t help but feel its inadequacy in the face of tonight’s grandeur.
Even so, you smooth the skirt with steady hands, letting your fingers trace the faint ridges of the embroidery. This night, you remind yourself, is not about the richness of your gown, but the confidence you bring and the memories you make.
Perfection may elude you, but presence—your presence—is more than enough.
When you step back into Lily’s chambers, it’s clear everyone is ready to go. Lily, as expected, looks effortlessly regal in her emerald green dress, the rich color complementing her fiery red hair that cascades down her back in elegant waves. Mary, ever composed, is radiant in a soft yellow gown that perfectly flatters her figure, her dark hair neatly arranged in a low bun at the nape of her neck.
“You look darling,” Lily murmurs, stepping forward to gently brush a stray lock of hair from your forehead. Her touch is as light as her tone, her emerald eyes warm with affection.
You roll your eyes playfully, unable to suppress a grin. “Says the actual goddess standing before me.”
“Truly,” Mary chimes in, her voice sweet as she adjusts the clasp of your necklace, ensuring it sits perfectly centered. “You’ll be the belle of the ball.”
Before you can protest their kind words, a knock at the door interrupts the moment. Marlene peeks her head in, her light blonde hair swept back into a tidy low ponytail. “Ladies,” she announces with a bright grin, “it’s time to head down.”
Excitement ripples through the room as the evening’s promise beckons.
_____
You weren’t quite sure what to do once you stepped onto the crowded ballroom floor. Back home, state balls were familiar territory, their routines and customs etched into your memory. But here, in a foreign kingdom, uncertainty clouded your thoughts.
Was the etiquette the same?
Would it be seen as rude to linger by the walls, content to watch the swirl of color and movement before you?
Must you be drawn into the heart of the celebration?
Apparently so.
You stand near one of the grand marble pillars circling the ballroom, the cool stone a comforting anchor amidst the overwhelming splendor. A glass of white wine rests in your hand, a half-hearted shield against your unease. From the corner of your eye, you notice movement—a man approaching with easy confidence. His dark hair is tied into a loose, messy bun, strands slipping free to frame his sharp features. His attire marks him as a knight of the Griffyn Kingdom, though the smirk curling at his lips carries a roguish charm and confidence uncommon in most knights you’ve met.
“You must be part of the delegation,” he says, his voice smooth, his smirk deepening as his gray eyes fix on yours.
You hesitate, biting back the urge to fidget. He’s handsome, undeniably so, but you can’t quite place why he’s chosen to speak to you. With a soft sigh, you nod. “I am.”
“I thought so,” he replies, a playful lilt to his tone. “I remember seeing you earlier, standing just behind the little princess. So, why aren’t you out there, dancing?” He gestures toward the center of the room, where couples spin and sway beneath glittering chandeliers.
“I’m not particularly fond of dancing,” you say, your voice quieter than intended. It’s not entirely true, but you hope the excuse is convincing enough to deter him.
“Nonsense,” he says with a laugh, his hand extending toward you. “Anyone can see you want to. Prove me wrong, if you’d like.”
The invitation lingers between you, daring yet strangely kind.
You hesitate for just a moment, glancing at the glass in your hand before setting it down on the corner of the nearest table. Then, with a small breath of resolve, you place your hand in his. “Don’t get mad if my heels end up on your toes,” you quip, a touch of nervousness slipping into your tone.
“Trust me, I’m quite nimble. Dodging danger is part of the job,” he replies with an easy smirk, already guiding you toward the dance floor with a confidence that leaves little room for argument.
Normally, you might have countered with a quick remark of your own, but your mind is too distracted. The pounding of your heart fills your ears, drowning out coherent thought.
The lull in the music amplifies every other sound—the clack of your heels against the polished marble, the low hum of whispered voices as heads turn to watch you pass. The weight of their gazes burns into your skin, and your hands tremble slightly as the knight clears a path through the crowd, his presence commanding in a way that both unsettles and reassures you.
Other couples filter onto the dance floor as the musicians shuffle their sheet music, preparing for the next song. The murmurs of the room settle, anticipation hanging in the air.
“Well,” you manage, your voice soft as you cling to anything that might distract you from the dozens of eyes still following your every move, “it seems you’re rather popular.”
“What can I say?” he responds, a teasing lilt in his voice. “I am rather handsome.” The smirk that accompanies his words is maddeningly self-assured.
Before you can respond, his hand presses gently against the middle of your back, drawing you closer. His other hand takes yours in a firm yet careful clasp, guiding you into the proper frame with a natural grace that makes it seem effortless. You barely notice the band striking the first notes of the song, your attention fixed on the storm gray eyes studying you with something close to intrigue.
You set your hand clumsily on his shoulder, your fingers brushing the smooth fabric of his maroon jacket. He doesn’t seem to mind your hesitation, his movements assured and steady as he begins to lead you through a simple waltz.
To your relief, the steps come naturally, your body quickly attuning to the rhythm of the music and the gentle guidance of his lead.
“What’s your name?” he asks, his voice soft, nearly lost beneath the rising swell of the orchestra.
You glance up at him, your voice barely above a whisper as you give your name.
“A beautiful name for a beautiful lady,” he replies smoothly, his lips curving into a charming smile paired with a wink that, despite yourself, pulls a smile to your face.
“And you?” you counter, a touch of playfulness creeping into your tone. “Who might this oh-so-charming knight be standing before me?”
His eyes glint with amusement, their gray depths catching the light like polished steel. “Sirius,” he says simply, the name rolling off his tongue with a quiet confidence.
You nod thoughtfully, letting the music and his lead guide you effortlessly across the floor. “An attention grabbing star for an attention grabbing knight,” you muse aloud, a small smirk tugging at your lips. “Seems fitting, I suppose.”
His laugh is low and warm, the sound wrapping around you like the melody. “Well, I do strive to live up to my name.”
“I doubt you have any trouble with that,” you say, a soft smile playing on your lips as you hold his gaze.
The music begins to fade, the elegant notes giving way to the quiet hum of conversations around you. As the dance slows to a stop, you take a small step back, though his presence still lingers like the warmth of the ballroom’s golden glow.
“So much for not being a dancer,” he teases, his smirk as effortless as the steps he led you through.
You turn to him, unable to suppress your grin. “Maybe you were just that good of a lead,” you say sweetly, your voice light with sincerity. But before he can respond, you catch sight of Mary and Lily across the room.
“I ought to check in on my lady,” you add, inclining your head slightly. “Thank you for the dance, Sir Sirius—”
“Sirius,” he interrupts gently, his tone almost playful. “Just Sirius is fine.”
You nod, your smile softening as you take a small step back. “Fine, then. Thank you for the dance, Sirius. It was... unexpected, but I truly enjoyed it.”
With a final glance, you turn and make your way toward Mary and Lily, weaving through the gathered crowd. The warmth of his hand on yours still lingers faintly, and his name echoes in your thoughts like the fading strains of the music— a memory you suspect will stay with you far longer than the evening itself.
_____
James and Remus stepped out of the nearest sitting room, the faint hum of ballroom music echoing down the corridor. Remus, ever meticulous, adjusted James’s slightly askew collar, his fingers deftly hiding the newly formed love bites that marked the prince’s neck—evidence of their brief but heated absence.
“We need to get back before anyone notices,” James murmured, his voice low but tinged with amusement as he fixed his tousled hair.
Remus smirked. “We’re already late. Let’s hope Sirius hasn’t set the place on fire in our absence.”
But as they approached the ballroom’s grand entrance, what they saw made both men falter. There, on the dancefloor, Sirius Black was leading a woman in a waltz.
The sight itself was striking. Her blush colored dress stood out in gentle contrast against the bold, jewel toned gowns of the others swirling around her. The simplicity of her attire only seemed to magnify her elegance, and for once, Sirius appeared utterly focused, his usual roguishness tempered by something softer.
“Sirius never asks a woman to dance,” a sharp voice cut through the hum of the crowd. James and Remus glanced toward a cluster of women, their faces half hidden behind delicate feathered fans. The speaker, a haughty looking noblewoman, tilted her head knowingly, her words drawing murmurs of agreement from those around her.
Remus’s brows knit together. Sirius was notorious for politely but firmly declining the endless stream of invitations to dance he received at events like these. Yet, watching him now, Remus found he could understand why Sirius had sought out this particular partner.
She was... radiant.
“Well, isn’t she a sight to see,” James murmured, his voice just low enough for Remus to hear.
Remus nodded, his hazel eyes tracking the woman’s graceful movements. “If I’m not mistaken, she’s one of Princess Lily’s lady’s maids,” he said, his tone thoughtful.
James’s eyes widened slightly in recognition, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. “Is that so?” he drawled, the spark of an idea lighting his gaze.
Remus sighed, already sensing trouble. “What are you thinking, James?”
The prince’s grin only grew. “I think,” he said, “we should pay a visit to the princess. Seems like her lady’s maid could use some... royal introductions.”
_____
After reuniting with a gushing Mary and Lily, a server approaches, bowing their head politely before handing you a fresh glass of wine. You thank them quietly, though you can’t help but find their deference a little peculiar. Still, you accept the drink, shifting your attention back to the princess as she launches into a spirited account of your performance on the dance floor.
“You looked absolutely stunning out there,” Lily exclaims, her cheeks slightly flushed from the excitement of the evening—or perhaps the wine.
“She’s right,” Mary agrees with a hum, a bright smile lighting her face. “Everyone was watching. You two were the talk of the room.”
Both women had taken their turns dancing with high-ranking gentlemen throughout the night. Suitors vying for the honor of even a single waltz. Yet, they seemed convinced that your dance was the highlight.
“He’s quite a talented dancer for a knight,” Mary observes, taking a sip from her own glass.
You nod, a small smile tugging at your lips. “I figured he’d be good, considering how confident he seemed. But he led me effortlessly. I barely had to think about the steps.”
“Well,” Lily interjects with a soft laugh, her hand fluttering to her lips as though trying to stifle her amusement, “that’s hardly surprising. He’s a noble, after all.”
“What?” Both you and Mary turn to her in confusion, the notion catching you both off guard. Nobles rarely became knights, considering the station beneath them. Sirius hardly seemed the exception, yet here you were.
“He’s the son of Duchess Black,” Lily explains with a slight grimace, lowering her voice. “Her sons are far more tolerable than she ever will be.”
“Lily!” Mary scolds, her eyes darting around to ensure no one overheard the princess’s blunt critique. Fortunately, the surrounding hum of conversation seemed to swallow the comment whole.
“But...” you trail off, your brows furrowing as you ask. “Did you not just dance with the heir to the duchy?”
“That would be my younger brother,” a smooth, familiar voice cuts into the conversation, making you turn sharply.
Sirius stands behind you, his easy smirk firmly in place, though there’s a glimmer of amusement in his gray eyes. Heat rushes to your cheeks, and you instinctively dip your head in greeting, murmuring, “Sir Sirius.”
“Sirius,” he corrects lightly, his gaze softening as it lingers on you.
“Sirius,” you murmur, correcting yourself softly.
His smirk softens into something warmer. “You danced with Regulus, Your Highness?”
“Lily,” the princess corrects, her tone mirroring his own.
Sirius chuckles, his attention shifting to her. “Of course, Lily. So, you danced with Reg?”
“As I always do, Sirius,” she replies with a sigh, clearly anticipating where the conversation might lead. Her expression brightens, however, as her gaze lands beyond him. “Oh, James, Remus! A pleasure to see you.”
Both Mary and you instinctively bow your heads, mirroring Lily’s graceful greeting as two men approach.
“Leave the formalities for the elders,” James teases, waving his hand dismissively. “Raise your heads, ladies.”
James Potter is every bit the image of royalty, dressed in a pristine white suit adorned with a red sash. The high collar adds to his regal air, but it’s his confident posture and easy smile —so warm and almost boyish—that truly captivate.
Beside him stands a tall, broad shouldered man with tousled brown hair. The scars that trace his skin catch your eye briefly before you hastily return your attention to the prince, unwilling to appear rude. Yet, the man’s hazel gaze, calm and piercing, seems to notice everything.
“Are you all enjoying the ball?” James asks, his voice warm and smooth as his signature smile graces his lips.
Lily answers first, her response polite and poised as ever. Her agreement prompts Mary and you to nod along.
“Glad to hear it,” James replies, his smile widening. “I know Sirius was enjoying himself not too long ago,” he adds with a teasing lilt, his hand clapping Sirius on the shoulder and lingering there in a way that seems deliberate.
“It was one dance,” Sirius groans, tilting his head toward the prince in exasperation.
“One dance more than usual,” Remus chimes in, his deep, steady voice carrying a hint of humor. His hazel eyes flicker to Sirius, glinting with quiet amusement as he observes his discomfort.
James turns his gaze to you, his teasing grin softening into something gentler. “He didn’t step on your toes, did he, my lady?” he asks, the mock solemnity of his tone bringing a smile to your lips.
You shake your head, your amusement showing clearly. “Of course not.”
James bursts into laughter, the sound rich and full, drawing a few curious glances from those nearby.
“Having women cover for your clumsy footwork now— what a shame,” Remus adds, his tone dripping with mock disappointment as he shakes his head.
Sirius turns to you, lips curling into an exaggerated pout. “Now look what you’ve done. You’ve egged them on.”
You shrug, a playful smile tugging at your lips. “Now, why would I do that, Sirius?”
“You’re killing me, doll,” he groans dramatically, prompting laughter to ripple through the small group.
The conversation shifts back to something closer to polite, though the teasing undercurrent remains. Mary moves subtly closer to you, her hand brushing comfortingly over your back. It’s then you notice the weight of the many gazes lingering on your group, a pressure you hadn’t fully realized until now.
Your eyes lower to the polished marble floor as you focus on listening to James and Lily’s easy banter, their words melding with the hum of the ballroom.
“You alright?” Remus’s voice pulls your attention. He steps closer, his question soft, laced with genuine concern.
You nod lightly. “It seems all of a sudden I’ve run out of energy,” you say, a polite fib. The truth is, this entire night has been draining, though you don’t want him to think he’s dull company. “I’m not used to parties like this,” you add quickly to clarify.
Remus’s lips curve into a smile, his expression warm and understanding. “We have lounges on the top floor for guests who need a break. You’d be welcome to rest there if you’d like.”
You shake your head gently. “I really shouldn’t, but thank you for the suggestion–”
“That’s a great idea,” Lily interjects with an encouraging smile. “Let’s rest our feet for a while.”
“I’ll let Marlene know we’re heading upstairs,” Mary offers before slipping away, likely toward one of the food tables where Marlene is undoubtedly stationed.
“We’ll escort you,” Sirius says smoothly, but Lily raises a hand, declining the offer with a polite smile.
“We’ll be fine on our own, but thank you,” she assures him.
“Of course,” James replies, bowing his head slightly.
Mary returns soon after, accompanied by Marlene, who carries a golden plate piled high with delicate finger foods.
“Enjoy your rest,” James says with a gracious nod, his tone sincere though his smile holds a trace of teasing warmth.
The women dip their heads in thanks before retreating upstairs to find a quiet lounge.
_____
As soon as they’re out of earshot, James turns to Sirius with a mischievous smirk. “Well, wasn’t she a sweetheart?” he asks, his teasing tone unmistakable.
“She’s polite but knows how to hold her own. I’d say you’ve chosen well, Sirius,” Remus adds with an approving nod.
“If you two hadn’t left me—” Sirius starts, a hint of irritation coloring his words.
“We did say you could join us,” James cuts in, raising his hand as if to defend himself.
“And you know damn well if all three of us disappeared, people would notice,” Sirius counters, arching an eyebrow.
James shrugs, entirely unbothered. “Your loss.”
“Not entirely,” Sirius says with a wolfish grin. “It just means we can take our time later.”
“No visible marks,” Remus warns, his voice carrying the weight of experience. “We’ll have guests for a while.”
Sirius rolls his eyes, his grin unwavering. “It’ll be fine—it’s never stopped us before.”
Remus sighs, his lips twitching upward despite himself. “Fair enough.”

Line That Leads To You
Pairing: Sirius Black x Fem! Reader AU: Soulmate AU CW: Language, Genre: Angst with a happy ending (don't worry guys) Summary: You make Sirius realize that having a soulmate isn’t all that bad— that he too, will have his happily ever after.
Note: One of my favorite tropes to write, soulmate AUs! Sirius just needs love and affirmation. I love writing for this! Enjoy! Picture is from pinterest, credits to the owner!
Tumblr media
You know, Sirius never really believed in those pesky soulmates stuff. It irks him to no end, and makes his head hurt.
The topic makes him snappy, bitter, and it leaves him feeling angry. To whom? The world— the one who’s responsible for everything that has to do with soulmates. He thinks it is a bunch of bollocks. It’s a pathetic little concept that everyone seems to be too invested in.
Sirius would be very much happy to tell you it doesn’t really end with a happily-ever-after.
“I’m telling you, Prongs. It’s just a bunch of crap.” Sirius tells James one time at the drawing room in the Potter Manor. James shakes his head, disagreeing with his best mate.
“It isn’t always like Walburga and Orion, Pads.” James gently tells him, eyes swimming with empathy for Sirius. “Just look at me, Lily and I are together, finally.” Sirius can’t help but scoff, shaking his head in a disagreeing manner.
“That’s because you were already pathetically in love with her before you even knew she was the one, Prongs. Same thing for Lily, but she was quite stubborn trying to deny what she felt about you. You guys are actually made for each other.” James lets out a laugh, the memories resurfacing making a love-struck smile appear on his face (Sirius gave him a disgusted look)
“That’s what soulmates are, Pads. You’re supposed to complete each other, balance the other person out” He pursed his lips and sighed, there’s no way Prongs could understand his opinion on the matter.
Complete each other, huh?
Then can someone give him a reasonable excuse on why his parents broke each other? One descended into madness; the other doesn’t really seem to care as long as the noble house of Black lineage will continue.
Sirius bites his bottom lip, deep in thought as he stares at his pinky, willing the connection to be seen; a red string that was tied into a bow that leads to Merlin-knows-where. It serves as a connection; the string that he and only his soulmate can see whenever they want. He tugs on it curiously, awaiting any reaction with bated breath. He almost scrambled away when he felt the other end also tug it. Sirius was utterly terrified, a shiver crawled up to his system, it’s foreign feeling for the Black’s eldest son. It made everything feel too real. A fact that he desperately tries to deny.
That night, before they returned to Hogwarts as sixth year students was the last time he ever willed to see the annoying little string in his pinky, not caring if his supposed other half was finding him or already found him.
Maybe it had to do with his twisted upbringing. He saw how his father cut the string tying him to their mother, the purple string that bound them together turning gray and withering away.
He saw how Regulus flinched, no one should’ve seen a scene like that, but they did. Someone severing their connection to someone who should’ve been with them through better or for worse, the one that fate intended for them. Their life got worse just after that, forcing him to flee and leave his younger brother behind at the deranged hands of Walburga Black.
“You should eat more, Reggie.” You turned towards the quiet and reserved Slytherin, pushing his plate closer to him, which made him wince. “I am quite full.” You raised a brow “None sense, all you did was sip pumpkin juice so you better do as I say or I’ll tell Evan and Junior.”
“Do you know that you boss people around quite well?” He grumbles, shoving a few spoonsful of dinner in his mouth as you hummed in approval, cracking a small smile. “I was told.” Your eyes flickered to the Gryffindor table, it seemed to gravitate you, pulling you in.
Looking down at your pinky, you willed the string to be visible to you. Seeing the red string attached to Sirius Black made your stomach churn; was it butterflies? Unease? You don’t particularly know, having mixed reactions to the string that leads to your other half.
You’ve known for over a year now, keeping it to yourself as you quickly figured out that he wants nothing to do with his soulmate.
“Reggie! Reggie!”
You exclaimed, slapping the poor boy’s arm as he was currently staying in the L/n Manor. He looked in your direction, quite annoyed, he was interrupted reading his book. “I’m reading, Y/n. You know, you should too. It’ll do you some good.” He sassed, trying to find which part he stopped reading. “My soulmate! They tugged the string!” You gushed, “They must be looking for me too, right?” You asked no one in particular, you can still feel the tingles you felt, how your heartbeat picked up, and how you felt like you were in could nine.
Quite the opposite from what Sirius felt, huh?
You never told him, never planned to. It was quite clear what his views are on the concept of soulmates when you saw him snogging different girls every week. It wrecked you; you swore you felt your heart stop beating every time you see him loving a girl other than you even just for a week. It sounds stupid and all, but you would give up everything just to know what it feels like; how he will look at you with love and adoration in his eyes, how his touch and kisses would linger on your body, and how his voice would sound like as his breath fans in your ear, whispering promises of love.
You looked at him from the Slytherin table; so close yet so far.
Regulus noticed, the all too familiar broken look in your face. His heart hurts for you, even if you do not tell him, he already knows. Seeing his brother’s indifference, Regulus’s gaze hardened. How could he have the guts to do this to his soulmate?
The memory of their mother's despair, the way she withered away after their father severed the bond, was etched into his mind. Regulus does not wish for anyone to feel that way, he does not wish upon it even in his worst enemies.
It was a pain no one should endure, a lesson that should have been learned.
Yet there sat his brother, laughing with his friends and willfully ignoring the pulls of his heart. The person who held the other end of this unseen tether, was beside Regulus. Your soul ached as you watched your soulmate. It was a betrayal of the heart's deepest connection, and it stirred a tempest of fury within Regulus that he struggled to contain.
“My brother is foolish. Eat.” He states, pushing your food and placing the cornbread on his plate to yours. She cracks a smile, chuckling. “Alright, Reggie. You’re lucky I love you.” You pat his curls, proceeding to eat the bread, smiling a little. Reggie never really shares his food with anyone, except for you. You’re the only exception.
“Padfoot.” Remus starts, looking out of the window as Sirius lays down lazily in his bed, looking at nothing.
“What, Moons?”
“If I say that I have an inkling on who your soulmate is, would you… look for them?” Remus asked cautiously. Peter and James perked up, eyes wide with shock. How could Remus possibly guess who his soulmate is? Unless… They’re also in Hogwarts?
“Don’t start with that crap, Moony.” Sirius sat up; a scowl displayed in his features as his grey eyes turned stormy.
“Don’t you even feel the slightest amount of guilt in your system as you snog other girls?” Remus frowned.
Sirius’s scowl deepened, his hands clenching into fists. “Guilt? For what, Moony? For not wanting to be chained down by some ancient magic?” His voice was a low growl, barely containing the emotions that surged within him. “I won’t be dictated by fate. I make my own choices, and I refuse to be bound by a bond I never asked for.”
Remus’s expression softened, the lines of concern etching deeper into his face. “It’s not about being chained, Pads. It’s about finding someone who complements you, who understands you in ways no one else can.” He paused, his gaze steady and piercing. “You’ve seen what happens when that bond is severed. You’ve seen the pain it causes. Is that what you want for yourself? For your soulmate who’s probably hurting somewhere?”
Sirius looks down, biting his lip and playing with the rings on his fingers. “I don’t plan on severing our bond, Moons- “
“Then what the fuck are you doing?” Remus spat, Sirius flinched, looking at anything but them. He knew deep down that Remus was right. He can’t deny he also wants to look for his soulmate. The only thing that was holding him back is that he’s scared. What if your story would end similarly like how Walburga and Orion’s did? Dread fills his system as he reflects on how he slowly realized he’s becoming like his father. Peter and James exchanged a glance, the weight of the conversation settling heavily upon them.
“I’m scared,” he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. “Scared of finding her… Scared of repeating the same mistakes.” He paused, his gaze lifting to meet Remus’s. “But you’re right. I can’t keep running from this. It’s not fair to them, and it’s not fair to me.”
James offered a supportive smile, feeling happy for his friend. Sirius stood up, his posture straightening as if shedding the weight of his fears. “I’ll do it. I’ll find her,” he declared, his voice steady. “I owe it to both of us to at least try.”
“That’s our Padfoot.” Remus breathes a sigh of relief as Peter nods encouragingly at Sirius.
The next daylight soon came. Sirius gulps, looking around the great hall, feeling quite overwhelmed at the number of students entering for breakfast, eating, or chatting amongst themselves. For the first time in a long time, he willed the red string of fate to reappear within his vision.
Ah, there it was. The red string connected to someone from the Slytherin table. Sirius felt his heart drop, seeing the end of the string connected to your pinky. “Y/n?” The name left his lips in a hushed awe, his heart skipping a beat as he saw the string connected to your pinky. You, who laughed with such ease beside Regulus, were the missing piece.
Whether it was some brotherly instinct, Regulus looked at him, shooting him a warning stare as if to say: ‘If you hurt her, you’ll never see the light of day ever again.’
Remus raised his eyebrows in surprise, knowing eyes set on his friend. “Found her, Pads?”
“Yeah. Found her, Moony.”
“Then what are you waiting for?” James chimed in, a grin spreading across his face as Peter silently cheers him on. “Go on, before you lose your nerve.”
Sirius took a deep breath, trying to shake off the weight of Regulus’s protective stare. It was a silent challenge, a vow to keep your heart safe from his brother. With a nod of acknowledgment, Sirius stepped forward, crossing the small distance between the Gryffindor table and Slytherin.
“Y/n,” he said, standing before you, the red string pulsing with a life of its own.
You stilled, slowly looking in his direction. Eyes wide with surprise, searched his for a moment before softening. “I was wondering when you’d come around,” you teared up, making Sirius’ heart ache.
Sirius extended his hand, the red string wrapping around both your destinies. “Let’s talk, yeah?”
And in that moment, as your fingers intertwined, Sirius knew that whatever the future held, he had made the right choice. For in finding you, he had found a new path that began to unravel, one filled with hope and courage. The buzz of Great Hall continued, but both of them felt time still, feeling the bond weave into their souls deeper.
Sirius’s and Y/n’s story had its flaws, but it was theirs, uniquely woven by the red strings of fate.

Summary: You and Sirius have always been enemies. The reason ? You didn't know yourself, he always has been mean to you. You're a Gryffindor pureblood, with very proud parents. The marauders like to annoy you and that makes you change into a person you don't even recognise today, not even your best friend, Regulus. One day you get assigned a punition during detention that you have to do with Sirius. Will your relation get better ? Or Worse ?
Tumblr media
Words count : 5 k
You had nothing against Sirius at first. You already met the Black family; Walburga surprisingly accepted your presence. You had quite a good relationship with Regulus. But never could you forget the day you met Sirius.
It was summer before entering Hogwarts, his mother still saw him as a future accomplishment, even if his temper was a little bumpy. It was your first time meeting the Black, you were very shy at that age, always hidden behind your mother. You could never forget that dark mansion. You parents stood by your side, waiting for someone to greet them. You remember the sound Walburga's dress did when she walked into the hall, a sickening smile on her face. Your parents knew her back at Hogwarts. "M/N! F/N! How great it is to see you in such good shape! And who might that young lady be?" She exclaimed. You looked up at your mother and she nodded reassuringly. You stepped in front of the lady of the house and bowed respectfully. "I'm Y/N Spencer, Mrs. Black, and it's an honour to make your acquaintance." She raised her brow in surprise. "Such wonderful manners! I see you raised her by the predicaments of your parents".
Your mother nodded; a bit embarrassed. You did not speak, they were all sat in the living room, you met Orion, such a dark silent man. You had your head hung down low, fidgeting with your fingers, listening half of what was being said, waiting for someone to talk to you. It was your first rule in order to not embarrass anyone and pretend to be perfect: Speak when spoken to.
"So how are the boys, Sirius and Regulus. Haven't seen them since they were toddlers." Your mother asked, sipping her tea. Boys? You were never told about boys. Walburga put dow her cup. "Oh, yes. Kreacher, go get the boys so they can greet our guests."
The elf left, and not even seconds later you heard footsteps coming down the stairs. A young boy with hair black like ebony got into the door frame. His skin was like porcelain, like just a wrong movement and he would break into pieces. For his young age, he had such a great posture. His mother smiled proudly, reaching out her hand for him to get closer. "Regulus, come. May I present to you, Mr. and Mrs. Spencer and their daughter, Y/N."
He nodded in your direction, a soft smile tug at your lips. "Doesn't he have a brother, of the age of Y/N I believe." Your mother interjected. Walburga nodded, a bit changing her demeanour. "You're right... Regulus where is your brother?" Regulus just shook his head. "Forgive me mother, but I have no idea. I passed by his room before coming down, but he was nowhere to be seen." Walburga sighed, seeming tired. "That boy will be the death of me... Kreacher, go fetch me that boy. The elf in question bowed. "Yes, mistress." And he left.
Walburga turned back to her other son. "Now, Regulus, won't you be a good boy and make Y/N visit the house." The boy timidly smiled and nodded. "Yes mother... Follow me... Y/N" You happily followed his trace. You had a bit of trouble, but you were able to get out a few information from him. He was a year younger than you. A shy boy to say the least, you wanted to know if he had any interest, but he did not seem open to reveal them quite yet. The air between you two was cold and the ambiance of the house did not make it any better. However, all of that changed when you arrived at his room. It was neatly ranged, but what you noticed were drawings and encyclopaedias on his desk. You approached it curiously and found yourself completely gawking at his drawings. There were constellations everywhere and you happened to love astrology. To say that he was surprised was the least because usually people around his age would find this subject annoying. His older brother once called him a space nerd for it. He found especially mesmerised by a certain constellation.
Regulus boy shrugged his cheek sightly red. "You can have it if you want."You raised your brows, clearly surprised. "Really?" "Y-Yes, you're the person I've met with so much interest in astronomy." You smiled widely. "Thanks that's really sweet of you." He mumbled a "you're welcome" and you exited the room. As the minute passed, the boy seemed more comfortable with you. You learned that he's always loved astrology. You laughed together and you started to walk backward, in order to face him. You started to question each other about astrology, laughing when you said the answers in sync.
Regulus starting really playing along. "Now the killing question, what is the constellation I gave you and its most powerful star." You smiled in amusement, it was your favourite constellation, but he didn't have to know that. While saying your answer, you started to turn around, closing your eyes in the process, mocking some savant. "It's the constellation of the great dog, and its most powerful star is Sirius-"
You didn't have time to finish your sentence that your face entered in collision with another body. You stumbled backward almost tripping in the process and looked for the source of the impact. "Someone called my name? You raised your eyes and were met with a boy, quite similar to regulus, only older with longer hair. You shook your head, noticing you were staring. "Oh, apologies, I wasn't looking where I was going." The boy smirked and extended his hand to get you on your feet. "I noticed, I'm Sirius, Sirius Black. I don't think we have met before."
"Oh, I'm Y/N Spencer." He suddenly narrowed his eyes. His face which was bright seconds ago turned so dark in such period of time. Regulus shuffled awkwardly next to you, also aware of Sirius' change of demeanour. "Spencer, you say?" his voice as cold as a blizzard. I shifted, clearly embarrassed. "Y-Yes, is there a problem?" His eyes turned even darker. "No. Just don't ever get in my way."
And he disappeared at the corner, pushing pass your shoulder. You didn't know what happened, and neither did Regulus. Truth to be told, Sirius already met some Spencer, and he didn't enjoy the experience. He met your cousins, some wealthy brat who only cared about themselves. They were cruel, it was Sirius' first presentation in the pureblood world, and though he hated it, he hoped it would go without any problems. But the Spencer cousins thought otherwise, they "accidentally" splashed some juice on his shirt, laughing, making everyone notice his ridiculous state. With a swift movement of their wands, they made his shoes grow two times longer when he was waltzing with a charming young lady. He looked like an absolute clown and promised himself not to ever speak or see a Spencer kid without making them regret being born. The fact that he left you unarmed was a present, but that wouldn't last long. If only you knew how much this young boy would change your path.
Now, back in the more recent time. Since you've arrived at Hogwarts, Sirius has made it a living hell. Especially since the next day after being sorted into Gryffindor, your parents sent you a congratulation letter. A letter being the opposite of the howler Sirius received. The look of pity you wore on your face made his vision go red. Later that day he tripped you when you entered class, making you sprawl in the corridor. You remembered a red hair girl and a black-haired boy helping you gather your things. You guessed it: Lily and Severus. You became inseparable and that made only Sirius anger more: you didn't deserve friends, you already had everything. The years went by, the marauders formed, they would always taunt Severus. The normally shy girl you were, gradually transformed into a brave young woman, standing up for her friends, a true Gryffindor. But to Sirius and his friends, it couldn't be, you had everything a Slytherin had, you could not be in Gryffindor, you had something to hide, something that wasn't right. And so, they took everything, turning you robes into Slytherin colour, taunting you in the corridors, making boys ditch you after they asked you out making you sometimes wait in the rain, ruining every relationship you shared. Even your friends started to slip away, Lily started to catch feelings for Potter, Severus distanced his heart broken self. The only person you had left was Reggie. Since Sirius left, he held a somewhat bitterness towards him. He would interfere with the taunting.
That was the breaking point, you snapped, you started to smoke, have hook-ups, sometimes coming to hands when a marauder approached you, getting into detention. It was beginning of sixth year, and you were already begging to be transferred to France. And now you were being paired up with him...
He was now taller than you, the king of the Gryffindor house, a king in bed too apparently, his hair reached his shoulders, and he was currently picking at it in annoyance. This was going to be a long ride. "Spencer." He noded coldly. "Black." You spat back, knowing he hated it. He ran away from home during summer. "Seems like we must bear each other more often now..." Sirius' jaw clenches at the name but then he smirks. "You seem to love the idea of me, Spencer. You scoff. "Not in a million years. I wouldn't dream to spend my time with a whoreman." He raised a brow. "You can talk, Spencer, heard Parker had the worst night in his entire life."
"Knob." "Minger." "Tosser." "Slag." "Dog with two dicks." "Trollop."
"Enough! Both of you, two hours of detention and 10 points from Gryffindor for each." Slughorn shouted, red in the face. You groaned in annoyance and let Slughorn return back to his class. When class finally ended, you jumped out of your seat, wanted nothing more than to find Reggie to let your feelings out.
"See you in detention, Spencer!" He yelled that throughout the corridor, making you wince and groan. You soon found Regulus where you expected him to be: at the astronomy tower. As soon as he saw your face, he knew what you were going to ramble about, so he let you... You spoke about how he was annoying for about 30 minutes, Regulus just quietly hummed from time to time, not really listening to what you said. After all, every single week, you would have that kind of moment where you couldn't stop complaining about his older brother.
"Can you even believe he said that? Reggie? Are you even listening to me ?" Regulus did not bother looking up from his book. "Not really..." You huffed at this. "Rude..."
Regulus sighed and closed his book, finally looking at you. "N/N, it's my brother we're talking about." "Yeah, yeah, I know, but still... You could listen to me!" And here you go again complaining about how he was your only friend, and you hoped for a better communication, blah, blah, blah. Regulus just shook his head and interrupted you after more five minutes. "Look at your watch N/N." You frowned. "My watch? Why in hell would I look at my- Oh shoot, I'm gonna be late for detention." You picked up your bag and started running towards the stairs. "Have fun!" "Don't count on it."
You arrived, out of breath at the detention class. You looked around and found yourself relieved that Sirius wasn't there yet and head now no reason to taunt you about your late arrival. "Running late, Spencer?" You shrieked away from the sound and the warm breath on your neck, only to find an amused Sirius Black.
You punched him in the chest "What is wrong with you!" Sirius cackled. "What? Scared you?" "First; in your dreams, and second, you don't talk into people ear for no reason." Sirius smirks, looking you up and down. "Well, I just did."
"Now, now, may you take your sits." A voice interrupts. You both jumped in surprise from the new arrival of the head-teacher. You obeyed and took sits across from each other. McGonagall took place before you. "So, I decided, you would have two hours of detention for two whole weeks." "What ?!" you exclaimed in sync. McGonagall sighed and shook ger head. "And before you say anything, you will do a project that you will present to me..." You raised your brows, your eyes narrowed, knowing the worse was to come. "And what might the subject be?" She smiled. "What is the true limit between hate and love ?"
Sirius groaned in annoyance. "Aw, come on Minnie, Spencer here doesn't even know what love is." "Like you know what family is?" you said through your teeth. He glared at you.
McGonagall shrugged straightening her gown. "I'll take my leaving, do whatever you want, but by the end of those weeks, I want this fifteen pages essay on my desk, or you will have another two weeks plus another subject along with the one you already have." And with that, she left you both, stunned in the middle of the classroom. You looked at each other before turning around furiously, behind your back, you heard some shuffles, you turned and saw that Sirius was leaving.
"What are you doing?" Sirius turned to you, looking at you like it was obvious. "What am I doing? I'm leaving... You take care of the essay." My first clenched into tight balls, ready to punch him. "You think I will do the work for you?! Sit your ass back here before I hex you to next year." He didn't object because he knew perfectly you would do what you promised. Once he dared not to follow your order under some threat and he got out with a broken nose.
"So, what do we do genius?" You sighed at his never-ending sarcasm. "Well, the work we were asked to do. You do friendship, I do hatred." You passed him a parchment. After a few minutes, you looked up and saw him staring blankly at his parchment. You sighed heavily; you were gone for a long evening. You frowned. "What's up?" "I can't seem to write a thing; I can't formulate love."
Him? This boy with his literal lovestruck girl fan club, he can't formulate love? "Well, what place friendship took in your life. What impact did it have? What makes a good friend, lover? Got it?" "Yeah, I guess? But there's a specific word I can't seem to find that describes it perfectly." "Maybe, it'll come back later..."
He smiled at you, that was the first sincere smile he sent your way since that day almost seven years ago. And that went on that way. Every day, after class, you would find an empty class to work on your subject. The marauders were surprised to find their friend happily going to detention. The black-haired boy didn't tell them about the essay and the paired chore.
"Y/N! Look!" He was making a little paper bird fly around the class. But you did not look up for that reason. He called you by your name, not your last name, it never happened. And part of you hated the fact that you liked how your name sounded in his mouth. "What?" he frowned at your puzzled expression. "You never did that..." He bent his head to the side in question, his hair flowing a bit away from the improvised bun he made with his wand. "Did what?" "My name, you never called me by my name... You always call me: Spencer, or Trollop, but never Y/N." His cheeks got a bit red from your remark, but he smirked. "What? Do you prefer princess?" I blush a bit and shove his shoulder jokingly. "Shut up." He cackled but got a bit more serious. "Now your turn." You stopped in your giggle. "What?" "Say my name."
You raised your brows in surprise. "In your dreams maybe." You said, returning to the parchment. You heard his chair making a rackling sound on the ground and a shadow appeared upon you. You looked up and he was hovering you, his two hands on the table. "Uh-Wha are you doing?" his eyes narrowed "Say. It." You looked at him like he was crazy. "No, you-" He got closer to your face, merely inches away. "Say it for me, princess~" your cheeks got hot at this. You sputtered on your sounds. "S-Sirius." He suddenly smirked, winking and returning to his original place. You stood there completely shocked... You huffed a chuckle at his obvious flirting, the two whores of the school in the same room... what a duo.
From that day, he started to get closer to you, he felt like a connection, and you felt it too. Inside this class, you were Y/N and Sirius, two pureblood Gryffindors with surprisingly a lot of common points. But as soon as you were out of the room you were Black and Spencer, the well-known enemies.
He didn't know when he started, when he started to look for your eyes in class or just your silhouette. When he started to notice the sound of your voice when you whispered something to Lily in class, when he started to notice how you played with your quill in class, or how many boys would send you notes during potion. He didn't but the marauders did, they saw his gaze change.
A week later, he turned around looking at you, while you were writing furiously. "Sooo... Y/N. Any boyfriend yet?" You clenched your jaw. "You know I don't, you ruined every date I have." He nodded looking a bit ashamed at your paper. "I meant no crush?" You finally looked up from your paper. "Sirius, what are you trying to do?" he scratched his neck. "Uh- a conversation?" You narrowed your eyes. "Okay... Well, I have no love interest at the moment. Do you?" He froze at your sentence but regained his smug posture. "Never! That's funniest part." "Make them think you are attached?" "Exactly." You both chuckled. "You know Sirius... You never told me why you hated me so much." He stopped in his track. How could he tell you it wasn't really your fault but his pride was in the way. "Well-" he got cut off when James entered the room. "Pads, we need you, Snivellus again." He clenched his fists. These days, Severus has been annoying Lily and Remus. He got up, forgetting the assignment. You followed them, knowing nothing good could come up.
Both bolted towards next to the shrieking shack. There, you saw a few green dots with a few reds. You soon recognised them to be a Slytherin gang with Regulus and Severus and others, against a panicked Peter, Remus and Lily. You arrived after James and Sirius did, they disarmed them. You noticed Regulus and Peter were trying to calm the whole thing but became stiff when the two other Gryffindor arrived. James started to shout, being defensive about his girl, it all started to transform into a fit of shouts, all of them argued. You tried to calm them all. Then suddenly, a word rung out louder than any other "You filthy little mudblood."
Everyone stopped, turning to a furious Snape. James immediately took action, hexing him. You watched in horror as the Slytherin flied away. The whole Slytherin gang, except Regulus, raised their hands towards James. The Gryffindors reciprocated, except for Lily, Remus and you. You all tried to calm everyone. "Guys, let's all calm down." Remus said, over the tense silence. They did not budge. "James, it's no use, put that wand down!" Lily exclaimed, fearing they would get hurt. "Sirius, put the wand down." You tried to say, hoping he would finally listen to you. He looked at you, a bit surprised but with a small sorrow in his eyes.
Regulus suddenly stepped up, trying to reason the rest. But he did a move that frightened his older brother, who had for only reaction to hex him. "Reggie!" You shouted, running where he landed. You took his head on your lap while he groaned in pain. "Reggie! Can you hear me?! Where does it hurt?!"
Sirius was shocked by what he did. He tried to take a step towards the two of you. "No! Don't get closer!" you shouted at him, tears welling up in your eyes. He stopped when he noticed the tears. His heart pang a little. There you were, holding his brother in your arms, crying for him, protecting him, for what he has done. What did he do wrong to not be in his brother place? He took a step back. "Y/N-"
You did not listen to him, giving Regulus your full attention. You didn't hear the fuming Slytherin mumbling a curse, a forbidden one. You only noticed Sirius stepping up before your crouched down body, paring the curse. That's when your brain registered what happened, Sirius just prevented you from being struck by the cruciatus curse. You looked at him shocked, as he turned back to you. "You okay?" You don't have time to answer that Regulus groans while trying to sit up. "Reggie! Don't move! Lucius, can you help me bring him to Madam Pomfrey?" The blond reluctantly accepted. And Sirius watched as you disappeared for the hospital wing.
"Pads, you okay?" James finally stepped up; Sirius jumped. "Yeah, yeah. Let's get going..." he started to walk back to the castle, leaving his friends worried.
During the next week, you avoided Sirius. You sent him a howl, telling him he didn't have to come to detention with you anymore since you had already finished the essay. He tried to talk to you, but everytime he came into your view, you sped off somewhere. His mood was at the lowest, and his friends were worried. Just a week ago he was on his best mood and now... he didn't want to do pranks anymore.
Slowly sadness turned into confusion, then anger. He did not do anything wrong! It was an accident. You were a Gryffindor, you should be on their side, not his brother's.
One afternoon, he was walking with the marauders next to the Black Lake, when he heard a distinct laugh. You were with Regulus, next to a tree, while he was telling you what seemed to be the funniest story ever. You were leaning on his shoulder, giggling softly. It only woke his anger. Why were you laughing with him? His brother who had that pureblood mania anchored in his head while you didn't. If anything, you had more common points with Sirius, so why him?
He noticed how you touched, how you looked at each other, smiling softly, hugging. He was sure of it now, you loved his brother, like his parent did. Like everyone he used to know did. You were no good compared to those purebloods.
He got red in anger and started speed walking towards the two of you, leaving the rest of his friend confused as to why he bolted away. Seeing the scene, the rest of the marauders stayed close on his tail. Regulus and you didn't notice them coming your way, too focused on the story Regulus was telling you.
With a flick of his wand, Sirius made the book Regulus held fly away. You both looked up confused. "Spencer! Interrupting something?" he said with a cold tone, the marauders got to their level, a foot behind him, still very confused. "Sirius, what are you doing?" you said in confusion, avoiding his gaze. "Stopping you from fucking my brother." All of you looked at him in shock. You stood up menacingly. "What did you say?" "I said I don't want a whore like you getting closer to my brother."
"I don't know what you're-" "I always knew you were a slut, but to this point... Fucking someone a year younger than you..." This time you were really taken aback, Regulus stood up. "Sirius, stop it-" "So, now you care about him?" You interrupted. "Because last time I checked you abandoned him." Sirius' fists clenched in anger. "What. Did. You. Say?" "Don't make me repeat myself..."
"Sirius, calm down..." Remus tried to say. "Shut up Remus! This is between me and Spencer here." He spat back, not breaking eye contact. "You worthless bitch..." "Why are you like this..." "Because I despise you to my very core..." You took a deep shaky breath. The boys took a step forward, wanting to stop their friend to say something he'll regret. You shook your head, the words slipped out, out of pure anger. "You're no Gryffindor, you're even worse than your mother."
He saw red. He muttered a spell, sending you in the lake. "Y/N!" Regulus shouted. You did not know how to swim. The Slytherin ran towards the water, running into it but soon stopping because he did not know how to swim either. The marauders look at him in confusion as to why he was panicking so much. Then they saw you did not come back to the surface. Regulus turned to his brother in full panic "She can't swim you idiot!"
You, on the other side, started to panic. Your robe was preventing you from doing any proper movement. You debated against it, your lungs burning. You reached the surface for a mere second, screaming for help as water was entering your throat.
James was the first to take action. He took off his robe and ran across the dock, dipping in the cold water. He swam quickly to you. Black dots were starting to cover your vision because of the lack of oxygen. You couldn't debate anymore, you let go, the water swallowing you.
Sirius' heart clenched when he saw you slowing down your debating movements the disappearing completely under the surface. What has he done?
You felt two strong pair of arms circling around, pulling you back up. You barely felt it bringing you back to the dock, laying you down. You heard a few quick steps coming your way on the dock. A few different voices. "N/N!" Regulus... "Y/N can you hear us?" James... "She's not breathing!" Peter... "Give her space..." Remus... Then a force pulled out the water out of your lungs, making you cough. You slowly opened my eyes, the light aggressing your sight. Remus helped you sit up as you coughed away all the water. Yourbreathing was a bit weird, and you were pale, almost blue but you were alive. "Y/N, are you okay?" Remus asked you, and you just nodded, still panting a bit. Regulus held you tight, clearly worried. "N/N, I'm so sorry, I couldn't help you." "It's okay Reggie, you don't know how to swim either. I'm here." He hugged you even tighter.
You saw Sirius, a few feet away, looking down. You got up to your feet, wobbling a bit. "Y/N, I'm so sor-" You pushed him violently backwards. "What did I ever do to you?!" You were drenched but Sirius could still see the tears streaming down your face. "Y/N, I didn't know-" "I could have died! You fucking idiot !" Regulus came behind you, placing a calming hand on your shoulder. "Y/N, calm down." "No! I don't know what I ever did to you. But know that from now on, I will stop trying, stop trying to be a little part of your life! I hate you Sirius Black!" You ran pass him to the castle, Regulus hot on your tail.
Sirius stayed like that unmoving, fixing the spot you were before. Hate him? He was thinking about what happened in the spent of ten minutes. You almost died, because of him, because he was selfish, because he was jealous... Because he loved you...

I LOVED the entire series!! It's heart wrenching yet satisfying.
Is there a part 6 to this or does it end at part 5?
The Words "Best Friends" Become Redefined. Part 5
Regulus Black AU
Summary: You had been Regulus’ friend since childhood and now his mistress. The war had changed many things, Regulus among them. Now its time to decide if you should put your self-worth over missing someone who was gone.
Pairings: Regulus Black x Reader
Rating: M- smut
Link to Part 4
Lyrics in Chapter: “New Star” by Watchhouse
______
“The monsters were you, darling.”
Regulus didn’t move from his place as your words echoed in his mind. All of this mess was his fault! Regulus had to hand it to himself…he had done such an excellent job at trying to scare you away that you were seeing him for what everyone thought he was…a monster.
“I suppose you see why I don’t think that you are good enough for her.”
Regulus looked up as Remus stepped into the room looking ready to fight. Rolling his eyes, Regulus wondered if punching your brother would make things even worse between the two of you. Something told him yes. If he wanted to earn your forgiveness whacking Remus seemed like a shoddy plan.
“Luck for me, Y/n tends to think for herself. She doesn’t need her older brother to do her thinking for her.”
Remus made a quiet “hmm” at that. He had to agree that Regulus was right on that one. You did think for yourself and didn’t need Remus to make your choices. In fact, you told Remus multiple times that fighting your battles wasn’t his hill to die on. That didn’t stop Remus from stepping on things like Regulus Black breaking your heart (as he already did).
“I suppose it’s lucky for you or unfortunate seeing as you have totally broken her heart but what do I know? Either way, Regulus, I don’t think it would be good for you to treat her so poorly over and over again. Y/n deserves better.
Regulus took a breath as Remus sat down. As much as Regulus wanted to cuss Remus out and tell him to “get fucked” he couldn’t. There was something about Remus that Regulus liked. Maybe it was their shared sense of sarcasm on many topics?
“If you knew why I did it you would understand.”

It's always Grumpy! Regulus who is soft just for reader, but what about about Sunshine!reader who is grumpy just for him 🥺
I broke one of my cardinal rules for this fic; I made the reader *pauses for dramatic affect*.... a Lupin ✊😔 this was such a cute idea though hahaha I love sunshine reader trying so hard to be a grump [also struggling a litttttllllleeeee bit with some writers block so please let me know if anything feels awkward - idk how to feel about my writing right now!]
Regulus Black x Lupin!reader who is the sunshine to his clouds [922 words]
p1 // p2
CW: talking about wringing someone's neck out, siblings
Remus was interrupted from his reading by his boyfriend psst-ing across a few tables in an attempt to garner your attention.
“Hey! Trouble!” He whisper-shouted, causing you to look up with an arched eyebrow, though you still had your ever present smile adorning your face.
“Blink twice if you need help, okay?” Sirius continued, earning him a good natured roll of your eyes.
“I’m fine, Pads; there’s no need to worry.” You responded at regular volume, causing Sirius to look around suspiciously as if he didn’t trust the very few patrons of this section of the library - none of which were paying the three of you any mind - with this information.
“Listen, I love my brother as much as the next person, but- I mean, really? A Black? Surely you can do better.” Sirius informed you solemnly.
“Sirius…are you saying that my brother can do better, too?”
Sirius nodded quickly, apparently happy that you were finally getting it. “Yes! That’s why I sunk my claws into him early, he can’t escape me now; we basically live together and share all of our friends.”
Remus lowered his book to give his boyfriend a sideways glance, whilst you just continued beaming at him.
Though he didn’t necessarily approve of the way Sirius was going about his questioning, Remus couldn’t help but sort of agree with Sirius. Not that you could do better, per se, but that the pairing of you - the youngest Lupin - and Regulus - the youngest Black - made absolutely no sense.
Remus was happy for you, both of you, really! He wasn’t the kind of older brother that was rearing to fight any and all of your potential suitors; he wanted you to be happy, and if it was Regulus Black who made you happy, then he was more than happy for it.
But that didn’t mean he understood it.
Were he and Sirius quite different from one another? Sure.
Where Sirius was all hard edges and brashness, Remus was careful and exuded gentleness. Where Sirius was black clothes and flashy smiles, Remus was oversized jumpers and quiet remarks. Where Sirius was collected and suave, Remus was awkward and understated.
But for all that was completely opposite between the two of them, they had nearly just as much in common.
They both loved the same kind of music, they both loved pranking, they both loved a good house party, and they both loved their younger siblings.
But one would be hard pressed to find any similarity between the two of you.
Regulus was all quiet stoicism with a moody persona, while you were eager and effervescent. Regulus was snide and, well, kind of rude, while you were generous and compassionate. Regulus was gloomy, while you were all sun.
Remus wasn’t sure you even had a negative bone in your body; you’d been disturbingly sweet growing up (as a big brother, he was always looking for reasons to despise you only to come up empty) and he couldn’t imagine how someone as bitter as Regulus could find his way in your orbit, nor you into his.
Yet with this, Regulus came hustling into the library muttering something under his breath as he let his bag fall to the table with a loud thunk.
Sirius and Remus shared a concerned and slightly uneasy look, while you seemed to sit up impossibly straighter; Remus was certain that if you were a dog that your tail would be wagging.
“He is such a git.” Regulus hissed as his arse finally hit the seat, and your mouth opened comically as you leaned over the table as if vying for a secret.
“Who!?” You asked earnestly, your warm eyes searching Regulus’ cool ones for any clues.
“Sodding McLaggen! Thinks he’s Merlin’s gift to the entire wizarding world or something.”
“Bastard.” You muttered in camaraderie, and both Remus and Sirius reared their heads back at the use of such language coming from their kind and sweet little sister (and sister-in-law, as Sirius already calls you).
“I could’ve wrung his neck out, I swear.” Regulus continued as he pulled his books out of his bag and you quickly made room on your table for him to spread his homework out too.
“What was stopping you?” You asked him, and Remus and Sirius both looked at each other with furrowed brows as if saying “are you hearing this!?”
“I didn’t think you’d be particularly happy should I miss our study date in order to attend detention with the likes of Potter.” He muttered, ensuring the sneer James’ surname as if it were a dirty word.
Your eyes flit over to Remus and Sirius and they could see the laughter in them as you tried to keep your lips in their dutiful downturned-ness.
“Well, it would have been a noble reason I suppose.”
Regulus made a sound somewhere between a hum of acknowledgement and a groan as he ran a hand through his hair.
“Don’t worry, Reg; I’m sure McLaggen will be a wanker again tomorrow. You can wring his neck out then.” You assured him whilst looking down at your book, but as you lifted your hand to turn a page, Regulus’ hand quickly enveloped yours and brought it to his lips.
“Je t’aime, mon étoile.” He murmured into your knuckles, and your grumpy persona was gone so quickly that Remus wondered if it was ever there to begin with, and you were left instead with a (far more natural) beaming smile.
Sirius made a theatrical gagging sound, but Remus couldn’t help but smile; perhaps the two of you made more sense than he thought.

Tumblr media
"Everything happens for a reason," they say. Which sounds all wise and comforting—until you realize the reason is that you’re stupid and make bad choices.
The bad choice in question? Falling for your best friend and PR manager Lily’s honeyed words and agreeing to let The Marauders, the biggest boyband on the planet, open for you on your world tour.
You had questioned the logic. Repeatedly. Why would you, an established artist with a loyal fanbase, need them? But Lily had dismissed your concerns with a grin so radiant you’d have thought she was discussing her wedding plans, not your career.
“It’s all about PR!” she’d said, practically bouncing. “You’re unstoppable alone, but with them? The buzz will be next level!”
Buzz. Right. The only buzzing now was the ringing in your ears as you sat stiffly in a glossy conference room, waiting to meet the so-called biggest boyband ever. The air was thick with tension—and regret.
The first impressions hadn’t been awful. Their drummer, Peter, seemed endearingly awkward. Their songwriter and bassist, Remus, was quiet but polite. And their frontman, James Potter? Sure, he was a little much with his golden-retriever energy, but at least he was charming in a harmless sort of way.
Then there was him.
Sirius Black, the band’s lead guitarist, resident heartbreaker, tabloid darling, and a walking cautionary tale wrapped in leather and bad decisions.
You’d heard about him long before today, of course. Everyone had. He was the one with the womanizing reputation, the rebellious attitude, and the kind of tragic backstory that made the press salivate.
What worried you most, though, was that your tour manager—Regulus—was his brother. Regulus had already muttered enough unflattering anecdotes about Sirius to make your skin crawl. And if Regulus, who was calm and composed to the point of saintliness, couldn’t stand him? What chance did you have?
You’d never heard Regulus rant about anyone before, but when Sirius came up? Oh, he let loose. Words like self-centered, arrogant, and man-child had been thrown around liberally.
The door slammed open, breaking your spiraling thoughts, and there he was: Sirius Black, 30 minutes late, looking like he’d rolled straight out of someone else’s bed.
To your immense irritation, his face was as devastatingly attractive as the rumors said. Sharp cheekbones, full lips, and eyes like molten steel that practically dared you to look away. His dark hair was messy in that perfectly careless way that took effort.
But then he smirked. And all that potential evaporated.
You glared at Lily, silently screaming, PR?! Really?! She avoided your eyes, suddenly fascinated by her notebook.
“Well, well,” Sirius drawled as he strolled in like he owned the room. “Looks like I’m fashionably late.”
“Just late,” you corrected, your voice cold enough to freeze fire.
He turned to you, smirk deepening. His gaze raked over you—not subtle, not respectful, and definitely not apologetic. “And you must be the boss.”
The way he said it, like it was both a compliment and a challenge, made your teeth clench.
You extended a hand. “Nice to meet you,” you said flatly, forcing yourself to stay professional.
For a moment, it seemed like he might take it. Instead, he leaned back, hands shoved into his pockets.
“You’re not my type,” he said, as casually as if he were commenting on the weather.
The audacity.
It took every ounce of self-control not to let your jaw drop. Instead, you plastered on a bright, brittle smile. “Oh no. How ever will I survive now that Sirius Black doesn’t consider me his type?”
His smirk widened, clearly enjoying your irritation. “Guess we’ll find out.”
You were this close to throwing professionalism out the window and throttling him when Lily nudged you sharply.
“Play nice,” she hissed under her breath.
With an exaggerated sigh, you stepped aside, letting Sirius pass. He sauntered to the table, but instead of sitting, he stopped behind Lily’s chair.
“You’re in my seat,” he said smoothly.
Lily blinked up at him, startled. “Oh! Sorry, I didn’t realize—”
“No, Lily,” you cut in, already exhausted. “Stay where you are. If Black has an issue, he can go complain to the teacher.”
Sirius raised an eyebrow, amusement flickering in his stormy eyes. “Cute. But that’s my seat.”
“This isn’t kindergarten, Black,” you said, voice dripping with sarcasm. “Sit somewhere else.”
Lily started to stand anyway, but you put a hand on her arm, stopping her. “Seriously, stay. If he’s that attached to this chair, maybe he can write it a love song later.”
Remus snorted from across the table, clearly trying to hold back laughter. “Sirius, mate, just sit next to Pete.”
But Sirius didn’t move. He was staring at you now, his smirk gone, replaced by something sharper, something that made your skin prickle.
You raised an eyebrow, refusing to back down. “Still standing there? Don’t tell me you’re waiting for me to roll out a red carpet.”
His lips twitched like he was fighting a grin. “No need, sweetheart.”
You gritted your teeth. “Not your sweetheart.”
“Not yet,” he shot back smoothly.
The audacity.
Lily elbowed you under the table, her look screaming be nice.
You exhaled sharply, turning back to the table as Sirius finally—finally—took a seat. But the smirk on his face told you one thing loud and clear:
This tour was going to be hell.

Fueled by caffeine, sleep deprivation, and the questionable life choice of writing instead of resting, this story is here to (hopefully) make you laugh, swoon, and maybe yell a bit. Sirius is impossible, the MC takes no nonsense, and I’ve probably had too much coffee to be trusted with this much drama.
Enjoy, and thanks for reading—you’re the real MVP for putting up with me. ( ◡̀_◡́)ᕤ

“Stop that, Siri,” you scolded, swatting at his hand, “It’ll never boil if you keep stirring it.”
You were at the stove, boiling water for potatoes, or trying to at least. Sirius, bless him, wanted to help out, but he was really just in the way if not a downright hazard in the kitchen.
“You told me to boil and stir, those are my duties and I take them very seriously.” He said with a chuckle at the last part. You rolled your eyes and scooted him out of the way.
You had already baked a lovely cake, and helped James cook some chicken and pasta, the last thing you had to make were the mashed potatoes. Remus had cooked up some veggies and was storing them in the warmer.
About a week ago, you suggested a “friendsgiving” to the boys. They had no idea what you were talking about, staring at you and blinking blankly as you explained the concept. You just wanted to have your friends over, all under one roof, and eat yummy food and play fun games. It sounded easy, in theory, but it turned out to be a lot more work than you were expecting, especially since one of the three boys could not cook to save his life. You decided to put Sirius in charge of drinks and entertainment and that appeased him.
The house was a rush for a couple days, you all decorated and figured out recipes you were going to make for the whole group. Then there was the inviting everyone and setting a time that everyone was available. It was like herding cats.
Your friends, Mary, Lily, and Marlene, were all easy. They communicated and organized and everything went off without a hitch. But Sirius wanted to invite his brother and some friends that you had yet to meet and they seemed…. Well a little less communicative and organized, but that was apparently very normal for them, none of the boys were upset by it.
“Remus,” you called into the other room. The tall boy appeared on the doorway in an instant. “Would you please help me finish the food?” you asked sweetly, batting your lashes to really drive it home.
Remus smirked and rolled his eyes. “Only if I have to.” he replied jokingly.
Sirius whined from beside you where Remus was now moving him out of the way. “Well what am I supposed to do?” he said, pushing out his bottom lip in a fake pout.
You looked at him and smiled, knowing his antics, he was only wanting to stay in the kitchen so he could “test” everything you were making. “Why don't you help James?” you suggested. James was in the living room, setting up some fall-ish decor which included strings of leaves he found outside. He claimed the colors were too pretty to be left out in the cold, so he hung them up insead. It was cute.
Sirius huffed and exited the kitchen. You continued on cooking, a little faster and more efficient now that Remus was actually helping you. It was a little while later, as you were finishing up, you heard some muffled arguing in the other room. You and Remus gave each other a confused look, then went to go and see what all the commotion was.
You entered the living room and it was completely transformed into a fall wonderland. There were strings of leaves hung up across the ceiling, carved little woodland creatures strewn about, candles lit everywhere, and a fire stoked in the fireplace. The room had a warm glow to it. You stood there in awe, taking it all in. Maybe you should put Sirius on decorating duty more often.
“How did you do all this? And.. you were in here for like ten minutes, how?” you asked, still in shock.
Sirius smirked at you. Magic,” he drawled, shoving what looked like one of the decorative sticks into his back pocket. James shook his head at Sirius, and Remus coughed from beside you. You couldn’t believe it, he and James must have worked really fast.
Your attention was drawn to the door, hearing a knock and some cheerful chatter. You smiled, instantly knowing who it was.
You opened the door and were met with the sight of Mary, Lily, and Marlene, all holding dishes they made.
“Hello love!” Mary sang, kissing you on the cheek before stepping inside. You hugged both Marlene and Lily and let them in as well.
“I can’t believe you actually live with them,” Marlene said to you while handing her dish off to James. “I mean, if you ever need an escape, just let me know and you can come stay with me instead.” she said, conspiring against her friends.
You laughed but answered, “I like it here, the boys are lovely.”
Marlene blinked at you in shock. “The boys? Lovely?”
“They better be,” Lily chimed in, glaring at both Sirius and James.
The latter held his hands up in defense as the former confirmed “We’ve been on our best behavior.”
All of you settled in, the girls leaving their dishes on the long table that James had somehow conjured up early this morning. You all found space on the couches or chairs or just on the carpeted floor. Conversation was lively, they all were recounting stories about their school days.
You learned a little bit more about the boys through the eyes of the girls. Apparently Remus was known as sort of a “casanova” in their years at school, James and Sirius got detention every day for three months but were able to sweet talk their way out of it after only a week, and that they had once set a fire in their common room.
“It was small!” James defended himself and his friends. “And we put it out eventually, didn't we?”
“Yes, because I supplied the water!” Lily laughed, making the rest of the room chuckle along with her.
“What about you, Y/N? You have any harrowing tales from school?” Mary asked.
You shook your head and let your gaze fall to the floor. “I was way too shy to do anything bad or adventurous in school.” you supplied.
“You never got into trouble?” James asked. “Not even once?”
“I mean…Not for anything like setting a common room on fire.” you shot back at him, jokingly. James smiled at you, the perfect, warm smile that he often reserved only for you. The type of smile that would instantly heat your face.
You were grateful for the knock at the door, taking the attention away from you and your growing blush.
Sirius jumped up and raced to the door, opening it to reveal a boy you had yet to meet. He looked almost exactly like Sirius, the only differences were his shorter hair and his sharper features, almost cat like.
“Reggie!” Sirius exclaimed, wrapping his arms around him in a tight hug. The boy stiffened a bit but pat Sirius on the back. "You didn’t make anything?”
The boy furrowed his eyebrows. “Why would I make anything? Can’t we just-”
“Regulus! It’s been too long” Mary called out, skipping up to him and hugging him as well.
“Where are the other two?” James asked.
The boy shrugged. “Honestly I don’t know, I told them I was leaving at 5:00 and for them to be in the car. I left at 5:00.” he said plainly, making James chuckle.
“And they weren't in the car?” James asked again.
“They were not in the car.” The boy confirmed smiling slightly, just the corners of his mouth, but somehow it lit his face up entirely. He turned to you, looking you up and down. “Hello, I’m Regulus.”
“Hi, I’m Y/N.” you said, giving him a small wave. “I’m their new roommate.” you explained, nodding your head to where James stood beside you.
“Oh right, Sirius mentioned you,” he said. You couldn’t really get a read on him, didn’t know if he liked you or not, if he was friendly or not.
You were saved by Marlene inserting herself into the conversation by asking, “So Reggie, uh, do you know who else is coming?”
Regulus turned his attention to her and smirked. He raised his eyebrows and said, “Oh yeah, Pandora is coming. Can’t wait to see her.” He smiled at her like he knew something, like he was onto some game she might be playing.
“Cool, yeah! Love Pandora. I’m, uh, excited to see her too.” she said quickly, then walked away. Regulus and James laughed.
There was another knock on the door, Sirius again opened it and revealed two girls standing side by side. One with dark brown hair and the coolest clothes you had ever seen, the other with blonde hair and an eccentric aura around her. The blonde was holding a tray of baked goods and the brunette was holding some sort of bottle.
They said their hellos to everyone before the blonde stopped right in front of you. “You must be Y/N! It is so lovely to meet you. I am excited to get to know you more, I’m Pandora by the way.” she said in an airy type of voice. She seemed sweet, kind. You were excited to get to know her more too.
“Yeah, nice to meet you too.” you said.
“I made pumpkin pasties, I hope that's alright with you.” she said, motioning with the tray in her hands.
“Oh, uh, yeah that’s great, thank you so much.” you started, “I’ve never had one before so, I’m happy to try one!” you finished, trying your best to match her cheeriness.
“Never had a pumpkin pasty?” she asked, cocking her head to the side. “They are practically all I would eat when I was at-”
“I’ll take that.” Remus interjected, taking the tray gently from her hands.
“Oh Remus! How have you been? I was wondering about…” she started, getting distracted from you and following Remus into the kitchen.
The other girl now stood in front of you. “Hey, I’m Dorcas.” she said. (you noticed Marlene blushing in the corner, eyeing her. Is this who she was hoping would show up…)
“Hi, I’m Y/N,” you repeated to her. “Nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you too,” she echoed the formality. “So… you’re living here now? With them?” she nodded to Remus and James in the kitchen.
“Yeah,” you said, nodding.
She handed you the bottle in her hand. “This is for you, I think it may come in handy living with that bunch.” she laughed, her voice smooth and soft. “It’s whiskey.”
You giggled and thanked her, taking the bottle. “Drinks, anyone?” you asked, raising the bottle up for all to see. There was an assortment of yes’s and agreements. You made your way to the kitchen to start handing out drinks.
Everyone was mingling and drinking, making their way to the table. You sat between Remus and Dorcas, talking to her about clothes and jewelry. She was wearing some of the coolest rings you had ever seen and you needed to know where she got them. “Oh here,” she said, handing you one you had asked about.
“W-what no. I couldn’t” you stuttered, shocked that she would be willing to give it up. Like she had known you for years, like you were sisters sharing clothes.
“No, don't worry about it, think about it like a house warming present or something.” she explained, popping the ring  on the placemat in front of you. “Besides, I like making my own rings, I can always make another.”
You thought right then that she may be the coolest girl you had ever met.
There was yet another knock at the door. “Late as always!” Mary sang from the other side of the table, making the room laugh. Pandora was the one who jumped from her seat and made for the door.
“Evan!” you heard her call out. She re-entered the room with two boys behind her. The first boy was tall, almost as tall as Remus, and blonde like Pandora. The other was slightly shorter and had green streaks dyed into his black hair. The second boy was holding a pie.
“I told you I was leaving at 5:00” Regulus muttered from one of the heads of the table.
“We made a pie.” the one with the green streaks said, extending out the pie he was holding.
Lily crossed her arms over her chest and raised a brow “you made a pie?” she said with an accusatory tone.
The green haired boy smiled. “We bought a pie, and the pie is here.”
You stood and walked up to the two new boys. You introduced yourself and took the pie, telling them to follow you to the kitchen so they could grab drinks as well.
“I never thought the day would come when I would be jealous of the marauders.” you heard the green haired boy, whose name you learned was Barty, mumble to the tall blonde boy, whose name was Evan, Pandora’s twin brother.

It was a lovely day in Godric’s Hollow, you smiled as you heard the laughter and joyful screams of the neighbourhood kids. School started again next week so they were enjoying their last bit of freedom. Your youngest was starting at Hogwarts in September too. You were excited for him but funnily enough, you weren’t looking forward to having an empty house.
“Ooh, smells good in here,” your husband chuckled as he kissed your cheek before he snagged some shredded cheese from the open packet.
“I’m making a little dinner for Reggie before he goes to his sleepover. You know he’s gonna have one slice of pizza and that’s it,” you spoke as you plated up the pasta, shouting for him to come downstairs.
“Reggie is going out too?” Sirius asked as he caught you around the waist.
“Mhm,” you laughed as you wrapped your arms around his neck, “Reggie’s got a sleepover, Eva’s going to sleep at Hermione’s, and I was thinking we should get a takeaway.”
“Absolutely, and we can finally crack open that bottle of goblin made wine that James got us for our wedding, if we’ve got the place to ourselves,” he smirked and pulled you into a kiss.
The kiss was short lived when Reggie came down the stairs and made a disgusted noise. You laughed as you pulled away from Sirius and handed Reggie the plate of pasta.
“Oh, mum, you know that Matt’s parents are gonna order pizza.”
“Yes, my darling but we both know that you’ll have one or two slices and decide it’s too greasy.”
Reggie scowled at you but said nothing as he went back upstairs. You decided to follow him upstairs to see if Eva wanted anything before she went out.
“Hey, Ev,” you knocked on her door before walking into her room, it looked like she was halfway through putting her hair in rollers.
“Hi, mum.”
“Hi sweetie. Do you want anything to eat before you go out?”
She shook her head no, “me and Mione are gonna grab some food with the guys.”
You nod as you leaned against the doorframe, “you will be safe won’t you?”
“Yes,” she rolled her eyes, “and before you – or dad – start overthinking you know that the strongest thing in Hermione’s house is cider.”
You laughed, you couldn’t help but agree and you were thankful that Eva chose to spend most of her time with Hermione.
By the time Eva was leaving, you and Sirius were one glass into the wine, along with half a Chinese takeaway.
“I’m going now,” she offered a small wave.
This apparantely wasn’t good enough for Sirius who leapt up to give her a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
“Bye sweetie. Call us if you need anything,” Eva nodded with a small smile and then she was gone.
Sirius flopped back next to you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders, “so,” he started.
“So,” you giggled.
“So, we have the house to ourselves.”
“Looks that way.”
“I’ve got a couple of things in mind to keep us occupied,” he smirked, his hands going down to your waist.
“Yeah? Like what?” you moved so you were straddling him, your hands on his shoulders.
“Well, if I remember correctly, it goes a little like this,” he cupped your cheek and pulled you into a kiss.
You eagerly kissed him back, your hands immediately tangling in his soft hair. It didn’t take long for you to realise that something was up, “what’s wrong?” you mumbled as you pulled away, your eyes flickering down to his slightly swollen lips.
“Nothing,” he shook his head before kissing you again. This continued for a couple of moments before he sighed and pulled away again.
“Is it me?”
“What? No, love of course not,” his arms tightened around your waist, silently asking you to stay where you were, “it’s Eva,” he sighed, “she’s acting strange isn’t she?”
You shrugged, “she’s just acting like a teenager.”
“I’m worried it might be drugs.”
“Well, sweetie, that’s pretty rich of you to say considering the amount of times I could smell that bong from your dorm in school.”
Sirius laughed but you could tell he was still thinking about it, you kissed his cheek, “how about I talk to her about it?”
Sirius nodded as his hands gently squeezed your hips, “let’s not waste this free house.”
You giggled as you leaned in to press a chaste kiss to his lips, “I completely agree.”
When Eva got back the next morning, you left her a while before you went to talk to her. You didn’t want her to feel ambushed.
“Can we talk?” you asked as you sat next to her on her bed.
She sighed and put her Quidditch book down, “dad thinks I’m doing drugs, right?” she scoffed when your eyes widened in surprise, “he’s not exactly subtle. I’m not doing drugs by the way.”
“Then what is it? Have you got a boyfriend? Have you got a girlfriend?”
Eva laughed, “look it’s nothing bad, okay? I’m just not ready to talk about it yet.”
“Well, that’s fair enough.”
Unbeknownst to you, you were soon going to find out what had your daughter acting so strangely. A couple of days before school started you and Sirius invited your friends over for dinner. It was an annual thing and this year it was your turn to host. Reggie was delighted as most of the attention was on him. James was asking him if he was going to try out for Quidditch while Lily asked him what house he wanted to be sorted into.
When the wine you and Lily were drinking was empty, you both went to get another one, giggling like school girls. As you walked into the kitchen, you both stopped dead as you stared at the scene before you. Eva and Harry was pressed up against one of the kitchen counters. Kissing. You and Lily exchanged a look before she spoke up.
“So, this is why dessert is taking so long to come out?”
The two teenagers immediately pulled away from each other with flushed cheeks and bright eyes, “mum,” they said in unison. Harry’s eyes were wide as he looked at Lily while Eva refused to look at you.
Lily giggled as she grabbed the bottle of wine from the fridge, “don’t mind us, we were just getting more wine,” she ushered you out of the kitchen. You were too dumbfounded to speak but you were secretly glad Eva had chosen someone nice like Harry.
A couple of minutes later, the two teenagers came back outside with the dessert in hand, they sat down as they placed it in the centre of the table. You witnessed them having some sort of silent conversation and after Harry nodded, Eva spoke up.
“Dad?”
“Yeah sweetpea?” Sirius asked as he glanced over.
“I’m not doing drugs, um,” she stumbled over her words as she glanced at Harry, “me and Harry are dating.”
Sirius looked like he didn’t understand what she’d just told him but before he could speak up, Remus asked his question.
“Who asked who out?”
“Erm,” Eva frowned at him in confusion, “I asked Harry out.”
“Ha! Pay up,” he shouted across the table at Regulus, Sirius’ brother.
Regulus rolled his eyes as he handed some coins over, “ugh, there. Two Galleons and a Sickle.”
“Seriously?” Sirius scowled, his eyes flashing.
Regulus and Remus shrugged in unison, “if we had to watch all the pining looks we decided we at least had to make it interesting.”
“Pricks,” James rolled his eyes.
“Well at least it’s not drugs, I’m very happy for you two.”
Eva scoffed, “I think you’re the last person who can preach to me about not taking drugs, I’ve seen the pictures of you guys in school. Mum and Lily must have been high if they dated you guys with those awful haircuts.”
You looked at Sirius’ perfect hair, “she’s right you know. They were awful haircuts.”
