I’ve started a small painting group at my Local Game Store. It gave me an excuse to paint miniatures that I’ve put on the wayside as well as get rid of some of my unpainted minis. I decided to finish this one up at home. It was from one of the Reaper Bones kickstarters I think.

Alright let’s start off the countdown to 13 with a cool bird I found!

In the low mountain pass there lies a peaceful pond, its waters gently ruffled by the breezed funneled through the grey rocks, between the wide spread of the lands below and the high valleys where the spring grass grows so rich and green. Every year the shepherds move their flocks into the uplands where the sheep spend the summer growing fat on the lush pasture, to be brought back down for shearing when the winds of winter come whistling down the mountains.

But the pond is peaceful only from afar, and the shepherds move their flocks past as quickly as they can, fearful of the terror that lies watchful in the water. Or so it has been, these many years...

"No more! No more will our boys dread the trip to the summer valleys, no more will we lose our sheep twice a year to the beast of the pass! I say enough! Enough of fear, men! Take up the javelin, take up the pelte shield, and follow me, and let us make an end to the beast, make the pass safe for our flocks and our shepherds!"

A diorama I put together for the local game store's year long painting contest. This is my final entry and I'm stoked at how well it came out. All of this stuff I've painted/made in the last month. I'm very proud of myself for this one.

I don't know where I got this miniature, but she was painted with the Army Painter’s Speedpaints. Her sword kept bending, and even dipping it in boiling water couldn't permanently render it straight. How very... queer. (Yes, I think I'm very funny.)

She kind of matches Maedhros but also not really. Her colour scheme matches his pretty well, but she's a bit taller than him, which makes no sense given that Maedhros is canonically tall as hell, and the proportions felt off when they stood side by side. That's why I never photographed them side by side.

Update: @basementofthearchmage has helpfully found it, it's the Highland Heroine from Reaper Miniatures.

Ok, I don't know what to paint next, I want a single miniature and selected a few:

I think probably 3, 4 or 5, because I want to make more intricate bases for 1 and 2.

Slapchopped some DnD NPCs for a recent module, the drybrushing gets old fast doing batches but the actual color bit is quite fun, like color by numbers

I think these are all Reaper metals, on bases I printed. If you're looking to try slapchop yourself, get some makeup brushes, they're probably my favorite for getting good transitions

Oh hail the Painting Stick, may this new technique receive thy blessing and produce some usuable effects.

Some Reaper Minis Coral Giants, undercoated in a light blue.

Ideally, this will allow contrast paints to give cooler tones.

Been siting on a lot of these big ol Reaper Miniature demons for years now and I finally decided to just go for it!

(Unfortunately we don't typically use demons/devils in our games, lol.)
