Lego Batman Family Matters is so ridiculous but I love it.

You will not believe how funny this movie actually is.

Is it out of character? YES, especially on Bruce and Damian's front.

Is it still batfam dynamic? Also yes.

In this movie, Bruce sells Wayne Enterprises because he believes that Bruce Wayne stops him from doing what's really important. Crime-fighting.

Harvey Dent hates Bruce because he believes that he has all this money and doesn't use it enough for good. And yes, he buys WE. Also, he works for Jason because they both think that Bruce owns half the city, yet he neglects the things he's supposed to love (This IS actually half of Jason's motivation. Gotham IS his city. It's just that it's more personally motivated)

So Jason sends Batman, Nightwing, Batgirl and Batwoman letters on where to meet him. There he gives them the location of four bombs. They decide to split up. When the bombs that Batwoman and Batgirl were supposed to handle were disarmed, he shocks them.

Btw, Babs and Dick have a fight going on because Dick didn't respond to her text. The reason? He didn't always want to write a thumbs up but something original, like a smiley face with a heart. When Barbara was under the influence of fear toxin, she saw a version of herself that claimed to be better than her and told her "he probably responds Starfire immediately".

He managed to shock Robin!Damian too, but Nightwing was with him and now they're trying to beat the shit out of each other. They even had a car chase, constantly made quips at each other and Jason launched a granate or something at his car so Dick will have to jump out, giving him the opportunity to also shock him.

Meanwhile Bruce is having a showdown with Two-Face at the theatre and Billy Batson, who wants to get an interview with him to earn money for the orphanage, is also there with him. In the end, BILLY had to disable the bomb because Bruce just straight up forgot about it???

By the way, he got to the theatre with another guy, but had to make the guys errands first, because Jason stole the tires from the batmobile. Bruce was so completely useless for this entire fight, he didn't even capture Harvey, he escaped. Everyone else DID. Sucks to be outnached by your family but my guy, I feel no sympathy.

So then Red Hood calls and says he has his family and they're gonna talk about this at home. So Bruce gets home, Jason says "Daddy's home" and rankd Bruce entrance as a 9.5 because the hero landing is so from last year.

Yes, so, anyway.

Damian, Barbara, Dick, Katherine and Alfred are all suspended in the air by their arms. Bruce reveals Jason's identity.

Damian: The second Robin? I thought he was dead!

Jason: You told them I was dead?!

Bruce: ... That's not what I said.

Bruce explains that he figured it out because the locations were personal clues tied to their civilian identity. And how one was the alley where Jason stole his tires the first time. Damian laughs and thinks it's so cool. Dick also laughs and imitates a lecture Bruce probably gave him after that.

Overall, a real nice bonding moment for the boys.

EXCEPT TWO OF THEM ARE HUNG IN THE AIR.

Aaaanyway, Jason accuses Bruce that he kicked Jason out, leaving him with no family, when in reality, Jason left because Jason rather wanted to play video games than go on patrol and one day Bruce pulled the plug. Jason had enough of "Bat-rules and Bat-curfews" and got on his bike and said "I'm leaving". He waited for a response, didn't got one and left.

Present Jason then told Bruce that if he'd cared, he would have stopped him. So Bruce shows him that he got daily updates from his satellite on Jason's adventures and Jason lets his family go.

My guy, a SATELLITE doesn't replace your parental supervision.

I dunno, I doubt they really had that much context for it. VAs are kinda just given lines to read, often not in order and with minimal context, and VAs often don't even know the story of the thing they're voice acting in (or even what their character looks like!) until they watch or play the final product. Like the director might just say "here's your line, read it like you're lovingly talking to your sleeping spouse" or "here, read this line, the character is supposed to be really angry but also extremely Done(TM)"

That would be Quick! I love haveing an opportunity to talk about him!

I head cannon that after the attack on topics city and the rising casualties of the war the Kaminoans start speeding up training to get more product out quicker. This leads to younger and younger soldiers graduating.

The first gen don't see a battlefield until their physically 20 or so. By the time domino squad graduates their only physically 18, and by the time Ahsoka is in her last year before her trial the soldiers are closer to 16. Their armor doesn't even fit right.

Quick gets wise to the corruption of the war a lot quicker than his better-trained ori'vod do. They had actual mandalorians to train them and we're instilled with more traditional values and loyalty to the republic. But by the time the Quick is in combat classes it's older clones and bounty hunters training them.

He hears all kinds of crap traded between older brothers and trainers who couldn't give a shit less about them. He comes to resent the republic and the jedi but not in a full on betrayal sort of way.

He's more resigned to it. He knows he's a soldier, that he's going to go out there and fight and probably die for the republic. He fuckin hates how naive and distant the jedi are. He thinks they're stupid and hates that they legally own him.

He gets talked into joining the 501st by his batch mates that want to become arc troopers. the largest legion gets the most combat and the most training.

He meets and promptly pissis off Ahsoka fresh of the fucking transport. Ahsoka mostly let's it go but after a few too many mumbled insults in mando'a she lets him know not to fuck with her.

He's way to young to be in a war and he knows it. Ahsoka is way to young to be giving him orders, the rankds are fucking weird, he still doesnt know what he actually wants to do with himself and his freaking armour doesn't fit!

Basically, he's slowly learning that the jedi aren't the bad guys while the ori'vod are slowly learning that they aren't the good guys. Most of them aren't really better off than their soldiers. They don't enjoy any more privileges. They eats sleep and shit the same way the men do. They gets hurt and die the same way too. They're as subject to orders from higher ups as anyone else. And they're just as willing to sacrifice themselves.

But there is the big key difference that they're fucking free sentients that can leave whenever they want. They just don't realize it.

But then Quick gets to thinking about how really the GAR could walk away if they wanted to. They're such a huge group. No one could stop them if they all decided to walk away. But he also knows there are too many brothers with a sense of responsibility that makes them stay. And many more that don't believe they could leave.

Where would they go? What would they do? He starts to try to talk others into walking away but all the ori'vod shut him down before he can get caught talking about desertion.

Because guess what? There is a big bad. It's the freaking GAR itself. Natborn commanders and generals and sitting delegates and the freaking senate all pose a threat too the clones. Way more than the jedi do. The clones consider themselves lucky to be working with jedi.

In the end, Ahsoka takes him under her wing as her personal shiny that she's training. She trains him in all kinds if skills, not the least of which are speeder driving, tracking. He becomes a project that keeps her from losing it after the loss of too many close brothers. (Namely echo and everything on umbara)

Quick becomes totally attached to her (after she saves his life like several times) and they have all kinds of debates about ethics and the jedi philosophy, and how the clones sre gonna get citizenship after the war and what they're gonna do with it.

Only for Ahsoka to get framed for murder then almost executed. He's suddenly alone with renewed resentment towards the jedi and it isn't long after that that the galaxy falls anyways.

I made a little bit of a mood board for him and when asked to describe him in a discord thread I once referred to him as "Ralph S. Mouse" as in from the mouse and the motorcycle. Whiny teenage rat boy Is the best I can give him. He's a total pessimist who sees the worst in people but also is super susceptible the like genuine care. Show him a modicum of kindness and he's yours. Like feeding an alley cat.

I haven't figured out what I want to do with him post o66 but it's gonna be fucking sad.

OH SHIT! I forgot to mention that Fives named him Quick after Ahsoka calls him that once when she catches him talking shit not realizing she speaks a bit of mando'a. Fives starts it but everyone chips in until he gets saddled with the name. It's fitting though since he's basically a scout trooper.

The last few weeks have been fun and busy. Between prepping for a trip to Florence creating tons of new work, and seeing friends, there has been plenty to do. Instead of a long, reflective intro, we’ll just jump into shoot descriptions this time around!

The first full week of June, my absolutely wonderful photo pal Alex came to Detroit to visit me and a few other people. Together, we went exploring downtown: from the tops of a parking garage to some of the smallest pizza places, we stopped in some great locations for photos. However, before that…

We met Claire at one of the locations I’ve already visited, both because it was a great location and because I wanted to try using the space differently. during this shoot, I reaffirmed that I love shooting in direct sun. I started with a 50mm and later switched to the 18-55mm lens. Check out more of these photos on Facebook or Instagram.

Next, we grabbed our friend Gabriella and headed down to Eastern Market to meet Kristen, one of Alex’s friends. Alex found murals she loved, and I found some nice structures that provided shade to work (and also to avoid melting).

Gabby’s first outfit was perfectly colorful and vintage, but I don’t know how she managed to walk 2 miles with us in the boots she had. Her second outfit consisted of a skirt I made from scratch material when I was overwhelmed by the urge to create, a simple black tank top, and some gorgeous silver Steve Madden shoes that Alex picked up for a great deal.

Since we had two models and two photographers, we split up temporarily. After a little while, we met back up to change outfits and swap pairs. Kristen was so fun to work with, and since she had her boyfriend there, we got to take some sweet couple pics. They were so cute and natural!

Finally, Alex and I had some time to ourselves. We did some exploring, stopped at a mural she had been gushing over, and headed downtown again. Once we found a parking garage, we headed up to the roof for some skyline shots. As simple of a location as it was, it was nice to have a change of scenery.

So that’s what the last few weeks have been. Since then, I’ve met up with Meyah for a shoot where she was covered in glitter, met Claire again to do an editorial shoot with a gorgeous black, high neck dress that I thrifted for $5 (bless thrift stores), and met a new pal, Rachel, for some playground shots of the dress Rankd sent! There will be a lot of new work coming your way soon.

With that amount of time, all the photos that have been taken in the last few days can be edited.
