Hello people. Lully here, and I am in need of this more personal sideblog more than ever.
So... before we get started, I am an atheist, but I think Christ was a great and revolutionary philosopher and that if everyone took the teaching "love others as well as you love yourself" literally we wouldn't have racism, homophobia, wars... do I really have to continue? But, unfortunately, this teaching isn't convenient to the Church itself (how do you order Crousades? How do you rule?). In case you don't know me and you're a right oriented radical Christian... hello, I'm an athesist theology enthusiast with a degree in medical and psychological assistance, I'm very glad to be your worst nightmare so please stay here with us and try to understand why you should shut that fucking mouth for a world of rainbows, flowers and fluffy unicorns where people feel safe and happy (guess what? You too!)🩷.
Since abortion right is at risk: ABORTION IS HEALTCARE. Oh yes, I said that. And if you're pro-life (what life?) And you want to be a doctor fine, don't be a gynecologist... I SAID THAT TOO. I work in a hospital, as an informatic but I work with doctors and medical staff in general... I've seen pro-life groups telling a girl (she wasn't older than 16 I think) that she shouldn't get her abortion procedure done, because she would regret it, THAT THE CHILD WOULD SOLVE HER 🍇 TRAUMA (you can't understand my urge to park my hands on this lady's cheeks)... so I did what I like more, I started explaining her why she should shut up: First, none of your business. Second, don't hide behind the "the Bible says" because AHAHAHAH NO, the Bible in the Exodus (21: 22-25, go check) says that if a man hits a pregnant woman and this one loses the child the one who hit her has to pay her family (practically a fine) but if the woman dies the person must pay with his life; this literally says "the fetus life isn't as important as the mother's", take your conclusions. Three, abortion isn't as dangerous as giving birth if done in a hospital, and there's literally nothing wrong in it, not enough developed nervous system, no pain, the fetus can't survive outside the uterus (so yes, it's the mother's body, not "someone else's" body as pro-life affirm). Fourth... what's the life saved in the whole "pro-life" thing? A woman gives birth to an unwanted child, she's traumatised, she becomes mentally instable, the child doesn't receive enough care, in the worst cases you know how this story ends. So... what's the life you're saving?
And of course, let's let women decide about this, I'm not saying a man can't have an opinion on this topic, it's just wrong that a man decides abortion should be legal or illegal, you don't care about prevention when it comes to your reproductive system (I see you refusing screening tests, I see you. DON'T. DO. THAT.) so why caring about someone else's one, someone that also usually checks it annually and basically... owns it.

Once in Royal David's city
stood a lowly cattle shed
Where a mother laid her baby
You'd do well to remember
the things he later said.

Current Thoughts

Based on my experience, in America (and other more progressive countries), it’s so easy to lose sight of what it means and entails to be a Christian. The Bible tells us to vilify ourselves, sell everything we own, help and love others in the same we would like to be helped and loved. When we have choices, we choose the comfortable route opposed to radical Christianity.

This whole idea from Conservatives/the right in general that men are “leaders” is completely a farce even in their own groups, and I can speak to this firsthand because I grew up in it. Super Catholic, church services were all in Latin, women weren’t allowed to wear pants or cut their hair shorter than their shoulders, and they were sporting all of America’s current insane political views a decade before they became more popular. And men still did jack all.
I was running the church choir in all but name by the age of 14, despite the choir director being a man in his 20s. Women handled all the childcare and child rearing, women were the ones who organized everything. Who put up the decorations for each season. Who provided the food. Who kept the church clean and in repair. Who taught the children during Sunday School. They were the ones who made decisions for their families, the ones who kept tabs on everything, the ones who organized playdates and homeschool meetups and church potlucks. Women built everything and men only placed their stamp of approval on it to claim the work.
And I wish more people would WAKE UP to this realization. Being a leader means nothing if you aren’t actually working. Simply sitting on your ass and giving the occasional instruction is not true leadership, nor is it even the servant leadership Christ himself advocated for. Those men were completely useless in the grand scheme of things and we would have continued on without them with relative ease. They hold onto relevancy by forcing women to depend on them financially but that’s all they have to stand on. And it just pisses me off idk this is just a rant

so tired of people speaking/writing about harm caused by religion and then having to always start with a disclaimer like “I know that not all Islam and Christianity is bad and that you are probably one of the good ones and I’m not trying to offend you and religion can be good sometimes and you’re probably such a good person” before they make their actual point.
And I don’t think so only because I believe that both Christianity and Islam have misogyny and colonialism inherent to their core theology, but also because this disclaimer undermines any point about the religion itself and reduces it only to a sociological analysis instead of a philosophical or theological analysis.
It implicitly asserts that there is some sort of morally perfect form of Christianity or Islam that with just the right amount of liberalism can be achieved and harm absolutely no one.
And the thing is, if you are a Christian or a Muslim you probably think this is true about your respective religion. However, you would agree with me on this point about the opposing religion because the truth claims of Christianity and Islam are mutually exclusive.

western women in privileged countries, when feminists from the global south tell you to watch out for white men and that your superiority complex won't save you, it is not an insult, it is a warning
what happens to women in the global south isn't happening because we have dark skin or non-european cultures. the threat that terrorizes us openly that makes you feel pity for us is not unique to us. that threat is in your bed, too.

Every day my heart aches when I hear some of my classmates talk so normally about how their religion prohibits them from doing certain things, they say it so normally because for them it is normal and good, but it really hurts me to see how they cannot live their lives freely because of their religion and their church
I do not agree with any religion that limits you from living your life, you are not "serving" your God, you are serving those men who created the church as a form of control.

The misconception of Christ
The common modern view of Jesus Christ is warped and a totally wrong view from what Christ actually is.
The modern view of Christ is of a kind, almost "chill dude" who accepted all and told not to judge, this is very very very wrong!
Let us start with the first one, a kind man, this is true, he is a kind man, but that does not mean he didn't get angry, because he did. For example, when he went to the synagogue (which had been turned into a market) he was extremely angry at the shopkeepers and flipped tables and chased them with a whip.
The second misconception is that he accepted all. Again is this wrong, he accepted people who came to him, not of those who blasphemed against the father.
The third misconception is that he told not to judge, this is also very wrong, what he DID tell us, was to not judge based on appearance but according to righteous judgement, see John 7:24.
When he returns, he comes with a sword, as Matthew 10:34-36 states.
So overall, Christ is our saviour, a kind man who forgives us when we repent, but do not think he accepts our sinful behaviour if we keep sinning, we must pray for guidance away from sin.
Amen.

religion will be like, it's because women talk to animals and eat fruit that childbirth is so painful, and the soil so hard to work! Not because we took away all of the midwives and created horrendous agriculture practices

We on the left have to realize that someone saying that their god is real and divine but that your god/gods aren't real or aren't gods should be seen in the same light as someone saying their gender is real and valid but that your gender isn't real or is a disorder of some sort. It's hate speech and shouldn't be socially acceptable.
