From NEMS, marauders and co uni au that is yet unpublished. Remus is an RA and this scene comes directly from my experiences, snippy comments and all.

The officer pounded on the door several times to no reply, so had to key in. What they saw when they flipped the light on was four people on two beds and a guy sitting up, rubbing his eye with his fist before stretching and yawning.

“What are you doing entering my room?”

“I pounded on the door, you can’t possibly think I’m buying this ‘you were all sleeping through that’ nonsense. Now I need names and IDs. To radio in for the report.”

The officer made quick work of telling the residents off and explaining how their names would all appear in a police report now. Remus noticed their demeanor changed and they were a lot more complicit. After the scolding, the officer left with the parting advice, “Now in the future, just answer the door for them so the police don’t have to get involved.” With that she left the RAs to finish their process having the residents dump out their alcohol since they were underage soccer players and mumbling how making them dump the liquor was 'alcohol abuse'.

So, this what that soccer room I’ve heard likes to cause problems. Love that for us.

been feeling a type of way lately about gritty characters. the characters who barrel through life with bloody fists and a broken nose. the scrappy, blow-for-blow, feral cat type of characters. the ones that fight their way through the most brutal conditions and are constantly up with their back against the wall, face to face with the worst possible odds but somehow they always find that one sliver-chance of survival and take it no matter the pain or the cost, and each time they go through something horrible the line for what they can endure moves even further, but they keep doing it. they keep on surviving the worst of the world because surviving is all they know.

basically. i just love it when characters are metaphorically drop kicked into a blender just to see how they'll be on the other side. bonus points if they're hot ofc.
