Meraj Publishing, a queer and trans muslim publishing house, is putting together an anthology of art and writing from queer and trans Palestinians! They’re asking to share the call for submissions widely, so please reach out to anyone who might be interested in contributing. $200 for selected pieces.
The project is being led by Mx. Yaffa A.S, a queer trans Palestinian poet. Her own collection of poetry, Blood Orange, just came out last month. All profits from sales of her collection are going toward queer, trans Palestinian work and on the ground work in Palestine.

“Leopard-skin” robe of the priest, Harnedjitef - Met Museum Collection
Inventory Number: 31.9.4 Roman Period, probably 1st century A.D. Location Information: From Egypt; Said to be from Northern Upper Egypt, Pernebwadjyt (south of Qaw el-Kebir)
Description:
Men serving as high priests, Iunmutef-priests, or sem-priests required specific items of dress, one of which was the pelt of a leopard. Fastened over a shoulder or hanging down the back, the leopard skin served as a powerful symbol of regeneration, particularly relevant for priests conducting rituals carried out on behalf of the dead.
Depictions suggest that priests wore actual pelts, but nearly all the rare surviving examples are made from painted linen. Here, the paws, tail, and neckline were cut from a doubled piece of cloth whose edges were then stitched together. The "leopard spots" were once brightly colored rosettes of red, yellow, and blue.

therapist ruined my fanfic(joking)
we'd been talking about when it's a Sin to be angry and when it's a Virtue, but now this means the planned (dis)Obey Me! entry for Wrath isn't going to be about sinning, necessarily
... that will probably be the piece I wind up showing him, both because my writing is important to me and because it will give more insight into how I process trauma
OTOH it's given me new ideas, so it works out (^v^)b

"Nasser Qaws, a leader of the Palestinian group Fatah, said Israel “aims to prevent Palestinians from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan”, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported."
How are we possibly meant to believe this is about anything other than cruelty?

What should we call lesbian and gay attraction?!
So alot of the queer community when talking about lesbian and gay attraction we usually use the 'non-men loving non-men' or 'non-woman loving non-woman' definition which we found out that it's quite exclusionary for multigender people who also are boys and/or girls, not to mention the racist roots😬. So what could we put it as then? I mean it's kinda obvious but it's simply the queer attraction to women/men and feminine/masculine aligned ppl, anything but the hetero attraction. So let me introduce you to the more inclusive terms I came up with...
QAM and QAW!
QAM = Queer Attraction to Men/masc aligned
QAW = Queer attraction to women/fem aligned
How to pronounce these terms?
QAM - kwam or kam
QAW - kaw or even claw 🤷‍♂️
Being a part of the queer community we want to include ALL queer ppl and their wonderful experiences, I know it's nearly impossible to include every single experience out there but I'm willing to try! We don't have to know every single identity under the sun but we can be aware that there are a plethora of experiences out there and more to come.

The fact is, “Queers for Palestine” and their allies don’t give a damn about LGBTQ people under Palestinian rule.
The Palestinian lesbian advocacy group Aswat moved its headquarters from Ramallah to Haifa because the group could not operate safely in the Palestinian Authority. For the same reason, the Palestinian LGBTQ group Al-Qaws put its headquarters in West Jerusalem.
News organizations have reported countless cases where LGBTQ Palestinians have been beaten mercilessly by Palestinian authorities, sometimes with the approval of their families and sometimes not. In one case, a young gay Palestinian who had run away to Israel after his parents beat him decided to visit them in the West Bank. There he found Palestinian police giving him an ultimatum: Spy on other LGBTQ Palestinians or be tortured. And indeed he was.
In another case, Palestinian police dragged a young man from his home because he was gay. Then he was submerged in sewer water by a rope up to five hours at a time every day for three weeks. An investigation by a human rights think-tank at Tel Aviv University, which hardly takes a party line, revealed this the common pattern of torture for countless of other LGBTQ Palestinians.
[…]
Israel abolished its law against sodomy in 1988, 15 years before the US Supreme Court did. Israel banned employment discrimination against LGBTQ people in 1992, 28 years before the US Supreme Court did. In 1993, Israel formally allowed openly LGBTQ soldiers to serve, but the IDF had rarely enforced the ban before then. The United States didn’t allow openly LGBTQ people to serve until 2010.
Israel granted spousal benefits to same-sex partners in 1993 and recognized same-sex marriages performed abroad in 2006, years before US Supreme Court mandated marriage equality. And in 2022, Israel banned the devastating practice of so-called “conversion therapy” that seeks to change the sexual orientation of LGBTQ minors. Today only 22 of the 50 US states, plus the District of Columbia, have banned it.
Israel exists as a relative haven for LGBTQ people in the region not because of “pinkwashing”. That disreputable charge is based on ancient antisemitic prejudices about Jewish insincerity and manipulation. No, LGBTQ Israelis thrive because of Israel’s liberal values of tolerance, humanity, compassion, and individual rights. It is these very values that drive in no small part the hatred religious fundamentalists, from Islamists to leftists, harbor for Israel. Hamas itself believes a reason (((global Zionism))) must be annihilated is because it “promotes homosexuality and sexual immorality”.
There is good reason to criticize Israeli policy, and even call for more protections there against Jewish fundamentalist terrorists or for same-sex civil marriage. But for Western LGBTQ groups to outright side with Hamas for the elimination of Israel, and to dismiss all positive developments in Israel as “pinkwashing” is absolutely Chickens-for-KFC territory.

Pinkwashing Palestine
The pinkwashing of the genocide in Palestine is ridiculous. First of all gay rights is not an excuse for killing little kids, at all. Beyond that though, opinions on homosexuality are far from a monolith in the region. My Palestinian best friend and his very traditional, religious family are not homophobic in the slightest. My own white American family took decades longer to come around on gay rights than they did. Would it have been okay to bomb a large portion of the south in the 90s? Should my husband have been killed as a child for being born into a very standard (and very homophobic) sect of Christianity around then? Large swaths of Palestine are roughly where America was not so long ago. Laws are ambiguous (because occupation), some people are cool with gay people, some aren't, many don't really have an opinion. Some areas have a visible queer subculture, some don't. It varies, just like everywhere.
NONE OF THIS could justify the current violence (and PLENTY of queer Palestinians are being killed right now), but I think it's particularly absurd because Palestine really isn't that different than we were not so long ago, and most of us can agree the indiscriminate slaughter of Texans a few decades back would have been bad. Israeli propaganda would have you believe every Arab wants all gay people dead. This is ridiculous.
For more on gay rights in Palestine look at Al Qaws.

In light of this I have added this simple design to my shop (click here), I've seen a few people here expressing they want something like this for protests.
ANY AND ALL PROCEEDS from Palestine related sales through my Redbubble shop will go to my Palestinian best friend (same one mentioned above) to help him bring his girlfriend over to America. Any left over will be used to help his family/other loved ones affected by the war.

-white queer people
-cishet poc
-queer poc who view the 'queer' and 'poc' parts as separable, especially those who repress their cultural roots for the sake of white queer "acceptance" or repress their queerness for the sake of cultural "acceptance"

Talking with my therapist and we got on the topic of my anger issues again - family drama.
Shoot the shit and we meander back on topic. He says - essentially - that he sees a “wrathful angel” in me. I managed not to bust out laughing for more reasons than just this blog/fandom.
The explanation he gave - based on my history - make perfect sense but that doesn’t mean I was expecting it. Been dodging around the topic of my various fandoms and I’ve given hints about this one but he’s not enough of a weeb nor dating-sim-player (had to explain what that was) to know of it.

MOON SERIES
The Moon will soon enter the sign of Sagittarius القوس -Al Qaws. (written on the 13th of February at 20:35)
The Moon will spend 2.5 days in this fire sign, the ruler (Jupiter) is currently passing through Aries. Indicating to a complete change of energies rising, from emotional, deep or wet to firey and passionate.
Tumblr media
Sagittarius is associated to topics such as:
Religion or the religious, philosophy, laws, law setters, travel, far away lands, higher education, mental journeys, ceremonies, weddings, horses, out doors, interest in hunting/ sports, enthusiasm and benefits.
All which has been mentioned shall become prevalent during the next few days.
Ruling over professions like: Clergy, travel industries, import/export, occupations requiring foresight with accuracy.
Fire’s in a literal sense can also be a possibility.
Avoid confrontations especially while driving and be resistant towards argumentative situations.
This being a mutable transit, indicating towards swift change under the dominion of direction.
Those dominated by this influence (Sagittarius placements) are known to be jovial, uplifting, benevolent, loyal, patriotic in some way, having a hasty temperament and self control when it needed.
Amazing transit for initiations, belief centred indulgence, exercising the faculty of journeying or Al Khayyal and obviously travelling.
If Sagittarius rules your 5th house- the topics tied to learning, teaching, playfulnesses and children can be highlighted.
If it is your 12th house house then far away travel, profound dreams, pilgrimages and isolated happenings could transpire or be spoken about.
See which house in your chart is ruled by the sign, analysing accordingly.
