Something so underrated about Eva Tsunaka is how incredibly egotistical she is. It flies under the radar most of the game, probably because she’s paired with Damon “my talent is better than your talent” Maitsu for most of it, but I would say she’s actually MORE egotistical than Damon is, it’s just easier for us to see Damon’s ego since he’s the protagonist and we can access his inner monologue.

Yes, Damon is definitely egoistic but there’s some logic behind it. Damon has a philosophy of talents needing to be useful, and it’s only when those talents don’t meet his standard that Damon gets an ego. When it’s people like Wolfgang with ‘useful’ talents, or just of use to him in general, Damon tends to demonstrate a lot of respect. He is capable of seeing others as his equal.

Eva, however? She respects nobody but herself, not even Damon. Absolutely nothing is ever her fault, it’s everyone else’s fault because she can’t accept they matched her intelligence, something her ego is rooted in as the Ultimate Mathlete. She “deserves to live”, as though she was the exception to the rules of the Killing Game and was above punishment. She bluntly calls her fellow students and their ideas stupid. When Damon notices the doorknob in the boiler room has been flipped, but only after the fact, Eva remarks that she “would have noticed in the moment”, and she rubs that in too. She needed to assert herself as more intelligent than her only friend. This particular example is crazy too considering Eva changed the doorknob herself! I sure hope she would have noticed it was switched!

So much of Eva’s self worth is rooted in needing to be better than everyone else, and unlike Damon she’s not willing to accept being equals. She has to be better, or else she’s nothing.

This vocal dream of a cry a concert only seen by the few who made the choice to look at the ripple that forms on the water's surface with each tear.

"Can you hear it?

Can you finally feel it?

Can you see my hand that reaches out to your heart?"

The strength of the crowd's cheer only made a heart so blue turn to the delicacy of it's other half.

The intricacies that adorned his clothes unmatched by a certain crystal-like piece...

A singular tear-drop jewel hanging on the mirror's corner that reflected your visage on it's watery surface.

The ripples akin to a staircase that guided you to him.

With each step a testament of how time created a story that surpassed classics...

The deep blue of the midnight's cries was embraced by the golden morning's arms.

Then was warmed by a bright red bonfire that was created by the very same hands that held the expressive heart in their palms.

Graced by the passionate emotions that heart's half is privy to.

Even the loquacious crowd fell silent at the sound of the rain as they looked at the man before them.

The dome that engulfed him shone with dim lights...

Until the moon decided to pay a visit and gave him the spotlight.

The owner of the heart so blue looked amongst the crowd.

A certain visage already reflected on it's mirror's watery surface..

Even when he closed his eyes, his other half is what he sees...

Best mindset to have while playing Eden's Garden: Just predict that everyone will die. Literally everyone. Don't get your hopes up on anyone surviving. The easiest way to avoid disappointment and heartbreak is to keep your expectations so low that there can only be wins 👍

One thing about Adam and Eve is that after eating the apple, not only they were forever cast out from the Garden of Eden but the rest of humanity was as well. Eva executed the first murder-- she bit the apple and was punished for that act of crime. Does that mean that along with her, everyone else is now barred from paradise? How will that part of the bible play a part in the game, if it will at all?

Why am I in this game?

Honestly the more I sit on it the more I love Eve's character. She's like. A more realistic/better executed version of Touko Fukawa (Rambling about Eva's character under the cut):

She was bullied all throughout her life and the one thing she could latch onto to keep her head up high was "at least I'm smarter than them". If the people who bully her are stupid, why should she take their insults seriously either? Then imagine being handed an ultimate title related to something you're *good* at but aren't necessairly passionate about. So not only does your talent make the bullying worse, it also keeps you from persuing subjects you're actually interested in diving deeper into.

You develop deep trust issues. You start every new interaction assuming the other person won't like you or only wants to use you for your intelligence (you haven't been proven wrong yet). It starts as a justified fear but it eventually turns into self-sabotage. You start acting like such a dick that you leave terrible first impressions, and the moment people turn on you, your previous assumptions about others get validated. It takes a while for you to warm up to others. And the moment that person steps out of line, you burn that bridge before the other person can. Because it's easier to assume the worst (and validate your intelligence, the one thing you're truly confident about) than to be hurt again. Or, in a worse case, that person turns out to genuinely like you and then you have to be confronted with how many potential friendships you lost because you couldn't put faith in another person. She doesn't care about sounding arrogant because her achievements speak for themselves, and downplaying them has never made people like her before.

Even if Damon was purely accusing her of a murder she very much committed, she IMMEDIATELY turns on him and even begins to pin it on him. She stops thinking rationally and just assumes he must hate her just like everyone else. He goes from the one person who might be /almost/ as smart as her to being just as stupid as everyone else. She might have even felt just a tiny bit envious about how the group was slowly starting to warm up to him. She didn't even take note of Cassidy's attempts to include her. She wrote her and the rest of the group off the moment they didn't stand up for her against Wolfgang.

And honestly, as much as she does a lot of unforgiveable shit, that I completely understand. It fucking sucks being bullied and belittled without anyone stepping in to defend you. And those people trying to include you without ever addressing the elephant in the room? At least Grace was outwardly mean to her. How is she supposed to trust Cassidy for example when she has received no verbal confirmation that they disagreed with the insults thrown at her, or regretted ever going along with it? Being nice enough to include her in a gaming tournament isn't enough when there have been no apologies for deliberately ostracising her from the group in a killing game no less. No wonder she thought she would die first! Now, was she being a hypocrite since her asshole behaviour gave people a good reason to dislike her? Sure. But I do get it. Maybe she would have learned to open up if it hadn't been for the traitor perc but /again/, I get her fear. Obviously she would have been the first victim if someone else tried to murder first.

And then the stuff with Diana... She might have just projected all of her distrust onto this one person. Even if Diana was the one to suggest Damon and Eva would be allowed to investigate, she was Wolfgang's #1 stan. Of course she would assume Diana might be two-faced. The harder Diana tried to be her friend, the more fake she seemed in Eva's eyes. /Or/, on the flip side, with how self-destructive Eva is, maybe a part of her /did/ want to get closer to Diana and to prevent herself from doing so she just villanised the fuck out of her so she wouldn't feel bad about framing her. Can't get attached to this person and potentially get hurt if they're not around anymore and I hurt them before they can hurt me!!!!!

She's so interesting. She's such a refreshing approach to a flawed victim of bullying. Bullying doesn't suddenly become justified when the person has a problematic response to it

Last Valentine's Day post! This time from my own project bloody eden (prequel to bloody reverie), I present to you the adam and eve of my story, the original lovers.

Although Lilith was created first, she was not Adam's true love, it was with Eve that he met true love.

After Lilith's banishment, Adam was extremely depressed and felt very alone, so to cure his loneliness, God decided to use Adam's rib to create his new soul mate, thus Eve was born.

At first Adam did not want nothing to do with Eve after what happened with Lilith, but it was impossible for him not to soften with the joy and innocence of his new wife, apart from the fact that unlike Lilith, Eve never treated him less, never made him feel stupid and was always willing to listen to him and not judge him for being sensitive.

Eve was much more curious than Adam, which ended in exile, however Adam was not going to let his wife be taken from him when he had faith in love again, so he decided to leave Eden with Eve since his paradise was with her and not with the angels.

It was thanks to the love of these two that humanity was able to prosper in history, even when they went through difficult times they always took care of each other and did not separate even if the situation was bad, because they both knew that they could do everything and that together they were both happy, they are each others paradise after all.

¡última publicación de San Valentin! Esta vez de mi propio proyecto bloody eden(precuela de bloody reverie), les presento a los adan y eva de mi historia, los enamorados originales.

A pesar de que lilith fue creada primero ella no fue el verdadero amor de adán, fue con eva que conoció el verdadero amor.

Tras el destierro de lilith adan estuvo extremadamente deprimido y se sentía muy solo, por lo que para curar su soledad dios decidió usar la costilla de adan para crear a su nueva alma gemela, así fue que nació eva.

En un inicio adan no quería relacionarse con eva después de lo ocurrido con lilith, pero le fue imposible no suavizarse con la alegría e inocencia de su nueva esposa , aparte de que a diferencia de lilith eva nunca lo trató de menos, jamás lo hizo sentir tonto y siempre estaba dispuesta a escucharlo y a no juzgarlo por ser sensible.

Eva era mucho más curiosa que adan, lo que terminó en el exilio, sin embargo adan no iba a dejar que le quitaran a su esposa cuando había vuelto a tener fe en el amor, por lo que decidió irse del eden con eva ya que su paraíso estaba con ella y no con los angeles.

Fue gracias al amor de estos dos que la humanidad pudo prosperar en la historia, aún cuando pasaron por tiempos difíciles siempre se cuidaron los unos a los otros y no se separaron aunque la situación fuera mala, porque ambos sabían que podían con todo y que juntos los dos eran felices, después de todo adan es el paraíso del eva y eva es el paraíso de adán.

Despite what Damon Maitsu wants to think, he has been incredibly trusting and kind throughout the Killing Game thus far. His actions contradict a lot of his own inner thoughts. Even though he is often rude he’s also rather kind, and that’s important to recognize since he wants to believe he’s so de-attached from everyone.

I think the first thing that comes to mind is the first trial’s Pathos route, where Damon decides to defend Diana based on his gut feeling despite all the clear evidence- or, trusting Diana’s character to be true over his own deductions. The second thing is when he realizes his trust of Eva is built on nothing. What both of these things have in common is how mad Damon is about it. Damon doesn’t want to defend Diana, he gets incredibly mad at himself when he realizes he’s sympathetic to her crying and wants to trust in her. The same goes for Eva, but his trust is lost instead. Damon gets angry when he realizes the only reason he trusted Eva was because he fell into the “Us vs Them” mentality, and he automatically grouped Eva in with himself, but Eva didn’t do the same thing. At the core of the issue, Damon is mad because without even realizing it, he is a hypocrite. He claims the students shouldn’t be able to so easily trust each other, then went and easily trusted just the same- and chose the worst person to acknowledge he trusted.

I say Damon acknowledges he trusted Eva because I think Damon trusts the other students more than he realizes. He is easily able to engage in Free Time Events with every student, except Grace. The fact there’s no Grace FTE’s, or to be Meta an exception to “hang out with your favourites!” rule, makes it feel in-character that Damon trusts the other students enough with his safety, but not Grace. Also, a lot of what happens in those FTE’s like Jean picking up Damon by his ankles has to mean they’re at least some sort of comfort with each other. The other students do seem comfortable with Damon, even the youngest student Toshiko knows she can call Damon a cutesy name like Mochi- he’s unhappy about it but ultimately does nothing. Ingrid asks him to help with the laundry and he agrees- grumbles about it later to himself but doesn’t actually protest to Ingrid’s face, and does his share. There’s also the fact that Damon doesn’t protest the roommate rule, and then how immediately comfortable he gets with said roommate. He even prefers to sleep in Kai’s room at a certain point, as sleeping alone in his own room makes him too anxious as opposed to sleeping along with someone else. For someone who claims to be untrusting, Damon spends a lot of time with other people one-on-one and in group settings, and being kind to them as well.

The only time I can think Damon doesn’t cooperate with the group is when Eva shows him the Tozu Equation and he says they should keep it secret. However, even then, Damon means *he and Eva* should keep it secret. He still means to work with Eva, as their own private team. He doesn’t go work on it on his own at any point, and asks her about it later if she had made any progress. When she says no, Damon assures her that he hadn’t expected her to with all the ongoing issues. He believes her at face value and doesn’t go to check on it, and was kind to her about the issue.

Still, there is an obvious elephant in the room: Damon is still an outsider. He’s not part of the group, there’s no equal exchange of first. The obvious solution, and one Damon comments on himself multiple times, is that he’s cooperating with them only to gain their trust, *not* because he trusts them. However, I think Damon is lying to himself, or is just unaware of how much trust he puts into his actions. For a comparison, I want us to look at Eva. Eva only spends time individually with Damon, who she “trusts”. Other than that, the only time we see her with others is to gather information or purposefully be seen while plotting her murder. We don’t have much insight on her rooming situation but Diana’s comments imply Eva was often absent from their room. Eva tends to lurk in the boiler room alone, specifically because nobody wants to go down there. She has no interest in her classmates and doesn’t trust any of them, and only takes interest in them when she needs them. Now this could just be a difference of strategy (Eva wanting to gain trust when the time was right, and Damon wanting to gain trust in advance) but frankly, it didn’t work. Damon spent more time cooperating with the class, and yet in the trial they hesitate to believe him over Eva based on his character. The only reason they choose to believe him is because they take a moment to reassess everything Damon has been saying, and draw a logical conclusion. Damon has still gained no real trust from their group, so what was the point of everything he’s done if it amounted to nothing?

Damon, whose situation is extremely close to Eva’s, is willing to share his living space with another person, to the point he shares the bed with them (his idea btw), not even swapping the bed every night. Eva feels more safe alone with her own mind and intelligence, but Damon has always reached out to other people for security. After Tozu threatened him, Damon went to Kai despite his belief Kai might kill him. When Wolfgang turned the group against him, Damon automatically latched onto the one other outcast, Eva without even realizing it. He’d already latched onto her from the moment they awoke in the boiler room together.

I definitely missed some stuff, like how Damon was the only one willing to grab Kai’s ring in the FTE- just say no if you don’t want to do it Damon. It’s going to be important to remember how kind he is in these earlier chapters since that kindness and trust he employed has now been thrown back in his own face and spit on (thanks Eva), so I’m not sure we’re ever going to see Damon be this unintentionally kind again.

Yulian (Adam), Eve, and Reader are the three main subjects of a project called 'Project Eden' led by 3 exceptional scientists.

Adam, Eve, and 'Reader' are referred to as '𝙰𝚕𝚙𝚑𝚊' while Yulian and A-01 are referred to as '𝙱𝚎𝚝𝚊'.

About this Alpha-Beta in a nutshell: Take Alpha as the original good while Beta is just a replica of Alpha, most Beta's appearance is strongly based on their Alpha's.

Yulian and Eve don't have that much of a history since the childhood timeline is supposed to be Adam and Eve. Due to one thing and another, Eve is set to fall in love with Adam no matter what the condition is but Adam's setting is still unknown. Eve and 'Reader' had a rather bad history because, in a nutshell (w/o spoiler because I'm delusional that one day I will write something for this), 'Reader' was married to Yulian (who is literally Adam's copy-paste) when Eve is set to love Adam no matter what the condition is? Oooh, sounds like Eve is about to push Reader down the stairs to death and make Yulian trials Eve for this first-degree murder ^^

A-01 is 'Reader's' Beta (Well, she might not actually take Reader's appearance since this Y/N based lol). A-01 only has one goal in her life and that is to pay back tenfold of what 'Reader' had done to her. A-01 reconciled with herself and accepted that Reader is Reader and not 'Reader' tho (yayyy).

A-01 doesn't have a name as she is only named after codes by the scientist. But here are some of the names she used: Aoi, Seong-Min, (spoiler), Acquillina (Counterpart Appearance), and so on. The rest are not so important as the most important is the name she used in the main story. It's confusing! It's a story I modified from all the stories I've had in mind since I was a middle schooler, you get the drill! A story that lacks any interesting shits! There is a lot of modification for everyone but they still stay true to their original lore, only a few additions and reductions!

Here is a treat for burdening your brain in trying to read everything.

A-01:

Alright, pretty little anon. Oh, I'm sure your brain couldn't contain this disastrous literary of a 13-year-old but your interest flatters me. I am considered as one of the 4 important protagonists to each respective story. Back then, I was written in a story that is so dumb that you will cough out blood from just reading the prologue, shameless! (Shakes Head) But now, I am given a new role and that is to take the role of an antagonist in the story of, urgh, 'lovebirds'.

I'm sure you will love every moment of my appearance, after all, I take the 'Mommy' role very seriously, child of man, you people never fail to fascinate me with such names.

In short, I am here to hunt down the protagonist, or should I say, 'Reader'. Let's just say I hold an immaculate grudge toward 'Reader', so much that I just want to rip apart their skull open and devastate their little husband.

Name? I can't tell you that. But in a much more light-hearted setting, I am often called Aoi, adorable no? Oh, and should you ever wander too far in this 'library' for just a speck of my information, I'd suggest you give up. The Master of the Theatre and Master of the Archive are not kind enough to write an encyclopedia of me so just send me a letter and I'll be kind enough to spare you some of my time to have a chat with you.
