- denim comes back in response to rising conservative politics ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2000s_in_fashion )

- another trump assassination attempt

- last week tonight goes just a bit too far to the left and/or is a bit too critical of trump for hbo and they don't renew the contract so the show goes further left and/or more critical for its remaining episodes

- my favourite artists don't release any new albums :(

- a ps5 game gets a "remaster" for ps5

- scott the woz comes out as a trans woman (please?)

- another trump assassination attempt

- switch 2 doesn't live up to expectations

- new covid variant basically everyone fucking ignores (please wear a mask)

- liberals organize a "non violent january 6th" where their only objective is to wave around some signs disapprovingly then go home because they still think that convincing others they're better people is useful at this stage

- trump tries to kill elon

- scat kink becomes noticeably more popular, trans women and transfems are somehow villainized for it

- biden dies, jimmy carter lives the whole year [Edit: FUCK]

- twitter breaks in a massive way that overshadows all of the other "oh no twitter is dieing" incidents

A famous youtuber is revealed to be a Trump supporter

Another former President dies and starts a chain reaction of various other former presidents dying (look, as of writing this all the current living presidents were born in the forties save for Obama. Jimmy Carter just died. Clinton was hospitalised. I dont think any of them are making the next year)

Assassination attempt at the Trump inauguration

For my Starkid moots, Nightmare Time 3 is finally officially announced

Dropout makes a new musical

There is a coup in a random country, US may or may not be involved

-gerard way will do a backflip on stage

-one city in the United States will be completely consumed by a large sinkhole

-billionaire will die while trying to harness the raw power of the sun (supervillain style, he was consumed by his lust for power, sun eats him)

-new sims 4 expansion pack allows you to give your children up for adoption (its called sims 4: Family Changes. Theres also divorce gameplay)

-aliens will be discovered but they're ugly

i hope yall are having a good one ! i've been taking a lil break, ( its only been a week i think but somehow feels way longer, ) so with the new year i'll be getting back into the swing of things soon. i absolutely ADORE this rpc and the people in it, i've met a lot of people through writing lucifer who i would consider friends and even reconnected with people i knew from previous rpcs, and having a creative outlet like this has just rly helped me personally. i'm very grateful to feel safe and welcome in a space like this going into the new year, something that wouldn't be possible without all of you lovely people. 💛
