If I had to guess, I think Callum will immediately fly for Katolis in season 7, but if he is there for Runaan's fuller debrief...

Rayla: So... when I said Ethari was waiting for you, what I meant was, he thinks you're dead and has for the past two years.

Runaan: *pulling on literally the first shirt he can find and scrambling east toward the Silvergrove*

Rayla: ...And I'm Ghosted, and if you try to go home you may be too.

Runaan: *stares at her in horror*

Rayla: But we're not alone! We have Callum! He saved you! He's a ~mage~

(Runaan has not gotten the memo on humans and magic. Callum is also dressed exactly like Viren, and, to Runaan's eyes, looks just like the man who tortured and imprisoned him. Runaan is one wrong move away from snapping)

Callum: Hi, we've met. ...When you broke into our castle... to kill my family...

Runaan:

Callum: Also I pawned your husband's wedding ring and accidentally killed your dog. Is this a bad time to tell you I'm dating your daughter?

Runaan (holding it together only through years of honed self-control): *turns stiffly and walks into the trees. Moments later a flock of birds fly out, disturbed by a completely unrelated scream that rings through the woods*

Seeing people crap on arc two Rayla genuinely makes me sad. I don't think many people truly realize the depth of Rayla's isolation. What happened to all the characters in arc one was horrible (I am not down playing that), Callum and Ezran lost their father, and Soren lost his family, but they all had Katolis to go back to. Their home. Rayla lost EVERYTHING. She lost the assassins who she grew up with and trained her, she lost her home, and worst of all she lost her parents. She lost Runaan and Ethari in one go, only months after her parents. And all she had to remember them by was what they taught her. And they taught her self sacrifice, they taught her to do questionable things in the name of protection and the greater good. Viren threatened everything she loved which WAS Callum and Ezran, and she thought he was still alive. She was stuck in fight or flight mode, she was bathed in trauma. And she had a point in TTM, everyone was just moving on, and didn't take or let her have anytime to truly grieve. She was in such a dark place in TTM and it influenced her decisions. She knows she did something wrong, she knows she hurt Callum. She hasn't brought herself to apologize yet, but why did we stop treating her as human? (Or elf, as it were)

This post made me analyze Rayla's and Callum's clothes for absolutely no reason.

In conclusion:

Rayla has a lot of layers for whatever reason

Callum doesn't have as many layers as it looks but it's confusing as hell

They have similar fashion taste :D

They look cool but somehow mortifyng, Rayla needs to get a normal outfit once the series is over or I will get an aneurysm (keep the purple tho)

Bonus: Rayla has the katolian diamond thing (?) and the spyral patterns from her former outfit, cute :)

I may be wrong about these but I love cool bullshit anime clothes with useless layers and I needed a reason to avoid doing job stuff

Since the melody has been bouncing around in my head since Saturday and I can't stop humming it, and since it's a very sweet and meaningful scene, I transcribed the song Rayla sang to Esmeray.

I'm not sure if Rayla will ever feel like part of her family again after she gets her parents and Runaan out of the coins. She still loves them, but it was also a long time. She has been through a series of traumas and carries the consequences with her. Her parents are still the ones who abandoned her when she was little. Runaan basically disowned her in a way the moment she chose the option of peace over the mission. And Ethari? He ghosted her even though she was all he had left.

She was alone for so long.

Yeah, her family will never feel the same
