i understand being afraid and I understand wanting to put certain life choice on hold until things change. But what I don't understand is getting upset and mad at family, who are the same as you, when they suggest a solution. Not getting a marriage license now before that fuck takes office won't change the fact that your entire online presence screams 'I'm a gay trans man'. Stopping yourself from doing these things that we fought so hard for is exactly what they want. All of those fucking extremists want us to slowly crawl back into the shadows and stop fighting.

It starts with you not getting married because 'it's not safe' and then it turns into you no longer correcting people when they misgender you, and it goes on and on. If you are complicit and stop living by your own values, you are giving in.

If it is legitimate life and death that you don't do these things, I understand. But it is still early, we still have two months before he takes office, and if we start folding to him now who will stand against him when he does take power in January.

We need to focus on the now and stop worrying what will happen. We need to focus on enjoying our rights while we still have them. We need to keep living and showing the world that just becuase it's hard doesn't mean we'll lay down and take it. We have the rights we do because we weren't complicit, we have our rights becuase we fought even when the world told us to give up. We can't stop fighting now.

And if you think I don't truly understand the situation, then you're mistaken. I am a Trans Masculine Nonbinary Aroacespec person who has spent the last Six years learning to accept myself. I have spent so many hours crying and worrying about this god damn election, but now I know that my only choice is to keep fighting. It would be so much easier for me to just give up, but that would mean letting them win. It would mean letting future queer kids grow up thinking they don't belong and that something is wrong with them. We have to be here not just for us but for the future kids like us. It's our time to be the people that future queer kids learn about when they learn queer history.

Don't stop fighting, Don't stop being heard, Don't stop being yourself.

Even if it seems bleak and like these next four years will never end, we have to remember that the only way for things to get better is to keep fighting.

You CAN'T get good critique for your art outside of an academic setting.

The vast majority of people who "critique" your work don't know what the fuck they're talking about and are thus just sharing unhelpful opinions...

This a really important thing to remember and/or learn right now.

The Trump administration can send out as many executive orders as they may want, that doesn't mean they will even come into effect.

Demoralization is the favorite weapon to suppress people.

The president can only certain things, the Senate can only do certain things, the House can only do certain things.

And the thing is, republicans have the slimmest majority to the point that when Pete Hegseth was voted the vice president had to step in.

Even when they have most things in their favor they can't just do whatever and called it a day.
