For those that don't know, Platypus is a horizontal scrolling shooter that first came out on PC to favorable reactions 14 May 2002. Having become a sucker for shumps, I never expected a game like this would be showing up on Switch and the Steam Store soon (No kidding about the former). Maybe we might get some actual controller support in light of this?

at long last, i'm back to writing The Fic!! however, being an Internet Funnyman is difficult sometimes and i can't decide what should be written above the Capital Building doors!! oh golly goodness!! here's what i have right now:

this is a spoiler, sort of, but i think it's worth it for some audience participation. (also, ideally, the chapter will be out before this poll ends. i just want to scope out the general vibe.)

OK okokok... gonna put this 'I just woke up' thought out there because this is tumblr and what else is it for? Someone has probably already said this and I haven't seen it, but whatever. I will throw it out anyway.

SO... Gale. We've all seen the posts where people quote the Gale lines about being naturally gifted with magic as a baby, a prodigy etc. and then point out that this is sorcerer behaviour.

BUT, what if... you're all right and it is sorcerer behaviour. BUT the orb feeds on weave/magic right? And sorcerers are born with innate magic... so what if he was born a sorcerer, then trained as a wizard, but the orb consumed his sorcerous magic. And that's why he's not as powerful as he once was, because, unbeknownst to him, all this time, he's been using that natural sorcerous connection to make accessing the weave easier. And now that's gone. Eaten up. Destroyed forever by the Netherese void.

And that's part of what's causing him pain. Because an instrinsic part of himself has been taken away. And he feels it like a phantom limb. Maybe he thinks it was actually connected to his relationship with Mystra, rather than a part of him, and that adds to his sense of loss from that relationship.

What if the first magic item Gale fed to the orb was himself and he doesn't even realise it?

THE FINAL TRIBUTES

After weeks in the intense, terrible, frightening, and vicious arena, there are only two tributes left standing. @hellsite-hall-of-fame, who believed that they would die within seconds of the games beginning but was sorely wrong, and Perry the Platypus, who is a semi-aquatic egg-laying mammal of action. As the tension in the arena builds, hellsite-hall-of-fame and Perry are more than ready to dispose of the other and win the title of victor.

W ─ Walk of shame. Has one of them  ( or both )  ever done a walk of shame  ( trying to leave the place the other shared with roommates/family members unnoticed but being caught ) ?  How was it ?  What were the reactions ?

Nonnie, this ask highkey made me giggle bc it reminded me of Liz's Perryshmirtz fic Store your nemesis under your bed which is a ridiculously sweet and hilarious read, so if you hadnt checked it out yet go do that!

It has influenced a lot of what i think their walk of shames would look like, on account of it being so fucking funny. On one hand, the Flynns of the Flynn Fletcher family are a particularly loud and nosy bunch (i love them SO much but you KNOW Linda, Phineas and Candace won't be able to help themselves from calling out a deviation of Perry's behaviour or routines and they are going to sniff out avoidant behavior like a BLOODHOUND) and on the other hand while Heinz largely lives alone he also has a teenage daughter who welcomes herself in anywhere without knocking or calling attention to herself and Heinz is NOT a chill parent when it comes to personal matters.

Perry's friends, family and co-workers would NEVER stop giving him shit bc Perry is otherwise so private and it is so sweet and funny to see him flustered. I think if it weren't for professional reasons (in some AUs where their relationship is forbidden) Perry would probably be very attentive and sweet and happy about showing Heinz off, I don'y think he's ashamed of them. Hes just private and easily flustered.

And as for Heinz and Vanessa i think once they got over the initial shock and embarrassment the first time around Nessa sees Perry walk out of Heinz's bedroom she wouldn't really sweat it, bc she would have predicted this would happen at some point.

What I'm tryna say is.... Its gonna suck a bit more for Perry than its gonna be for Heinz 😭😭😭
