Crown of Exile – Limited Access up to Chapter Ten

With Christmas around the corner and progress steadily approaching the final two chapters of Crown of Exile, I've decided to make the current Patreon demo available to the public for a limited time.

Time start: 21 Dec 2024, 8AM GMT +2

Time end: 22 Dec 2024, 10AM GMT +2

How it works:

During this time, the demo up until Chapter Ten will be made available on the public game page on itch.io. It will be available only to be played in the browser – no downloads will be available, sorry!

You will be unable to use saves from the current public demo so you'll need to restart the game from the beginning. The demo will remain until the end time on 22 December 2024, afterwards, it will be removed and the old demo up to Chapter Eight will return to the game page.

Why are you doing this?

It's been a hot minute since the last public update and a lot has been written since then. Everyone who has followed me on Tumblr and itch.io have been incredibly supportive and without you, a lot of the early chapters wouldn't have made it online. This is a thank-you gift for Christmas and a way for me to gather feedback from the broader public outside my Patreon.

Please keep in mind that I've been working on new chapters, not edits, so nothing new has been added to the earlier chapters. This demo access will allow you to play Chapters Nine and Ten.

None of this would be possible without my incredibly generous Patrons who voted overwhelmingly in favour of allowing public access to the demo for a limited time.

Hello friends! Sorry for disappearing off the side of the earth for this month. Some news: I just wrapped up the fight scene in Chapter 1, and it is now possible to throw Jost out a window, and I just think that's neat.

Also, Chapter 1. Soon. Ish? Soonish. :)

It'll release on Patreon first (both tiers) for one week, for play-testing reasons. And then it'll be public! I'll make an official announcement post when it's good to go :P

Update No. 9 (and apologies!)

Very sorry for how long this chapter has taken, but good news is: I’m finally done with the draft of the entire full chapter! It’s now undergoing testing and editing, and should be out / ready for ko-fi supporters on Oct 5.

It has been a real journey (I’m not sure why but this chapter was really challenging to write, mostly because I really wanted to make sure I did enough credit to the possible routes/branching and also cater an experience that even non-Sam romancers would be able to enjoy.) I'm not sure if I fully succeeded, but it's a WIP—with the amount of rewrites I do to earlier chapters... I'm sure I'll improve this one in the months to come as well. !

In any case. Without further ado, I present to you the features for the fifth chapter / update No. 9, and thank you all so much for being so patient with me and supportive!

Update No. 9 Features

Sam attending team dinner (when the flamenco music comes on, you can choose to… get cozy with Sam/Rayyan/Tobin)

Team party on Friday night (participate in a drinking game known as the Devil’s Dozen (party edition). Partner Sam, Tobin, or Rayyan and get… drunk (or not. Non-alcoholic drinks are available too!)

Share a bed with Sam… pt. 1.

Go out to a fancy Italian restaurant on Saturday with Sam (you can choose to wear something nice or not), and then head to a bar afterward.

Share a bed with Sam… pt. 2. [exclusive to Sam romancers]

Have a (tough?) conversation before Sam leaves on Sunday (or you might’ve had the tough conversation earlier on Saturday).

P.S. Sorry again for how long this update has been ‘in the works’, but I can't wait to share it with you all!
