1 John Bonus: What is Love? (Part 2 of 3)
Probably the best-known passage on love in the Greek scriptures is found Paul’s first letter to the church in Corinth, 1 Corinthians 13. #WhatisLove #Agape #1Corinthians13
Expositors will often speak of heavenly love as agape, and probably the best-known passage on love in the Greek scriptures is found Paul’s first letter to the church in Corinth, 1 Corinthians 13. 1 Corinthians 13 In this chapter, Paul describes the nature of agape as patient, kind, humble, cooperative, even-tempered, generous-hearted in a way that conveys trust and loyalty, ever…

Philippians 2:5-8 Let this mind be in you which was also in CHRIST JESUS: 6 Who, existing in the form of GOD, did not consider equality with GOD something to be grasped, 7 but emptied HIMSELF, taking the form of a Servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, HE humbled HIMSELF & became obedient to death—even death on a cross.

The Love of Christmas
Introduction Christmas is a time of joy, hope, peace, and celebration, but at its heart lies the most important theme of all: love. The story of Christmas is the story of sacrificial love—a love so deep and enduring that it changed the course of history. It changed my life, and probably yours, too. This love is woven throughout the events leading up to the birth of Jesus, expressed in the lives…

Choose your Podcast App to Play this episode Pastor Catrice speaks on this week’s topic about the heart of the Christian when finding themselves in a Wilderness. Moses sent out scouts to report back what they found in Canaan, the land which God had given His children. However, some of them brought back an evil report because they were afraid of what they saw and didn’t acknowledge the Lord and…

The Surprising Story of Balaam's Talking Ass
The Story of how Balaam received a message from God is pretty unusual, and if you haven’t read it before, right now is a great time to do it. If you’ve read it, and it left you scratching your head a little, it’s certainly worth a deeper look. (And yeah, I know it opens the door to bad Ace Ventura jokes and that it’s PRIMARILY referred to most often by middle school boys who say, ” the word ‘Ass‘…

Nine Biblical Reasons to Reject Donald Trump as a Candidate for President
Wednesday is for Political Controversy I don’t want to write this post.  Despite the fact that I wrote a book with the title Picking a President or Any Other Elected Official, I’m not a really political person.  I’m a registered Independent. Have been all my life. I wish all Christians were registered Independents. I don’t think it is wise for Christians to be identified with either or any…

Lord, Don't Give Up on Me
Context: Psalm 119: 1-176 Focus: Psalm 119: 1-8 “I will obey your decrees. As someone who has battled anxiety and very dark thoughts in the past, God has shown me it is crucial to not try to get out of that mindset on my own strength. These are spiritual attacks, and I need to learn to lean on the Spirit to fight for me. I do this by using scripture that reminds me of the nature of God and his will for my life.
The enemy is a liar and he uses catastrophizing and overthinking to tell us lies about ourselves and the things to come. I refuse to give him an inch into my life by coming into agreement with his lies. Understanding the spiritual nature of our thoughts empowers you to not allow them to control you, but for you to have power over them.
1. John 10:10
“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”
2. Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
3. Psalm 55:22
“Give your burdens to the Lord, and He will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.”
4. Isaiah 41:10
“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
5. Philippians 4:6-7
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
6. Romans 8:6
“So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.”
7. Matthew 11:28-30
“Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.’”

A Respectful Perspective on Homosexuality in the Catholic Church
Tumblr media
The Catholic Church speaks about homosexuality with both truth and love, seeking to guide people while embracing them with compassion. According to Church teaching, sexual intimacy is a beautiful gift meant to be expressed in marriage between a man and a woman, serving two important purposes: to unite the couple in love and to bring new life into the world. When sexual acts take place outside this sacred context—whether through fornication, adultery, or homosexual acts—they are considered to fall short of God’s plan for human flourishing.
That said, simply experiencing same-sex attraction is not a sin. The Church understands that many people carry this cross and recognizes the dignity and worth of every individual. Those who face this challenge are invited to walk a path of chastity—not as a burden, but as a way to grow in love, peace, and closeness to God. It’s a call to a higher form of love, one that opens the heart to God’s grace and leads toward a life of holiness and deep fulfillment.
At the heart of the Church’s message is this: every person, regardless of their struggles, is infinitely loved by God. The Church encourages everyone to welcome and support their brothers and sisters with same-sex attractions, treating them with the utmost respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Discrimination, rejection, or harshness have no place in the Christian life. Instead, we are called to love one another as Christ loves us—unconditionally and wholeheartedly.
We all have unique challenges on our journey to holiness, but none of us walks alone. God’s love is constant, His grace is abundant, and His arms are always open. Together, through kindness, empathy, and faith, we can help each other grow in love and live in the fullness of the life God desires for us.

Isaiah 50: The Obedient Servant
The third Servant Song describes Messiah as one who trusts and relies completely on God, and knows with conviction that He will be vindicated. That is every Christian's calling and grace. #Isaiah50 #ObedientFaith #ServantSong
In the third Servant Song, Isaiah prophesied about the Messiah as both a scholar and as a willing sufferer in complete submission to the Father’s will, as the pioneer and perfecter of faith. Perfect Faith The Lord God helps me;    therefore I have not been disgraced;therefore I have set my face like flint,    and I know that I shall not be put to shame;    he who vindicates me is near.Who will…
