And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” —Philippians 1:6 (NIV)
Lent Devotional By Lucie N'Guessan (Tearfund) - Day 4: “A transformation prayer”:
“Every Saturday, we will focus purely on prayer. Take your time with this. Allow yourself space to tune in to how God might be leading you to respond.
Write down three situations where you want to see change take place on a piece of paper, in a notebook, in this booklet, or on your phone. These might be situations where you have felt stuck for some time or global circumstances where change seems impossible.
Once you have written them down, read through them, place your hand over them, then thank God that change is possible. Ask God what he is already doing in these situations and how he might want you to participate. Be silent for a few seconds. Release the burden to God. Repeat this as many times as you like. You might want to do this together with a friend, family member, or group that you trust.
(Lucie is from Ivory Coast and leads Tearfund’s communications in West Africa.)”

Living His Word

...being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ — Philippians 1:6
There are times when we feel like we have not made any progress at all in our walk with God. There are times when sin rears its ugly head in our lives and, as a result, we feel like we have fallen back to square one. We wish that our lives were unwavering ascents into the fullness of what it means to be a Christian, but the reality seems to be something far less encouraging at times.
The good news is that the work of conforming ourselves to the likeness of Jesus Christ is a work in the hands of God. In Romans 8:29 the Apostle Paul says that "For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren." We may give up on ourselves, but God does not give up on us. He is always working to make us look more and more like Jesus.
Indeed, God was the one who initiated the process of becoming like Jesus in the first place. He was the one that "delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love" (Colossians 1:13). And we can't boast about this because "by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8). God began the whole process in us and He won't stop working on us.
God will complete the work He began in us all the way to the day of Jesus Christ. Our salvation is sure, but we still have the daily battle of putting off sin and becoming more like Jesus. Just as God once worked to save us, He now works to sanctify us. The process of sanctification continues in our lives until we die and in the church as a whole until the day of Jesus Christ's return.
If the sin that remains in your life has gotten you down, then take comfort today in Paul's confidence. God has not given up on you. He is working to make you more like Jesus. And since He is God, He will complete the work.

"GOD SEES YOUR POTENTIAL"
Judges 6:15-16, “But Gideon said to Him, “Please Lord, how am I to rescue Israel? Behold, my family is the least [significant] in Manasseh, and I am the youngest (smallest) in my father’s house.” The Lord answered him, “I will certainly be with you, and you will strike down the Midianites as [if they were only] one man.” (AMP) There was a sign that read Antique Auto Show, so Rob and his wife…

Choose your Podcast App to Play this episode Pastor Catrice speaks on this week’s topic about the heart of the Christian when finding themselves in a Wilderness. Moses sent out scouts to report back what they found in Canaan, the land which God had given His children. “Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” —Philippians 1:2‭-‬6 (NIV)

If Your Potential Was Unlocked, What Would You Find?
The word “potential” is defined as “having or showing the capacity to become or develop into something in the future.” It may be something obvious, like a singer with a good voice who is training to make it great. But, it can also be something less obvious, like a caterpillar who will turn into a butterfly. The Apostle Paul apparently saw a LOT of potential where it wasn’t necessarily…
