“One Great Purpose” By YouVersion:
“While Mary and Joseph were still finalizing their guest list and picking out a wedding cake, she startled him with some unexpected news—she, a virgin, was pregnant.
Assuming she’d been unfaithful, Joseph was poised to cancel the engagement. But while he was still considering his exit strategy, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream—telling him not to be afraid to take Mary as his wife, for the child inside her was from the Holy Spirit.
“And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭1:21‬ ‭NLT‬‬.
This miracle was the fulfillment of hundreds of prophecies—God-inspired predictions about the Messiah, Savior, or “Chosen/Anointed One”—recorded in the Old Testament.
From conception, Jesus’ purpose was made known: to save His people from their sins. Because even before God created the world, His plan was to save it.
Isn’t it interesting that you didn’t choose the time, place, body, or family in which you were born? But God has you here, right now, on purpose.
You’ve been grafted into an ongoing story playing out since the beginning of time. And this timeless offer, to be saved from the shackles of your sin and freed from a debt you could never pay, has been extended to you.
What is sin? Sin is choosing our way instead of God’s. Sin is rebelling against His design and His plan. And we’ve all done it—we’ve all fallen short of God’s righteous standard.
But that’s why He sent Jesus—because He loved us that much.
And then, Jesus gave His life for the sake of the world.
If you’ve never accepted the free gift of salvation, today can be your day, and this moment can be your moment. There’s nothing you can do to earn it, but you can come to Him—just as you are.”
A prayer of gratitude: God, today we come before You with hearts full of gratitude and awe. We reflect on the powerful and matchless name of Jesus. Thank You for sending Jesus, the ultimate sacrifice, to save us from our sins. May His selfless act inspire us to live lives of gratitude and purpose. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.”
[The song below goes with the previous post. I've put it separately, so you can click on the link to it. Such a beautiful Christman song!]
Blessed last Saturday before Christmas! Amen! 🙏🕊️🙌

today’s verse of the day.
see more for my thoughts: ďżź
Time and time again throughout history we see ‘Christians’ committing all sorts of atrocities. I cannot excuse those acts.
All I can say is I wholeheartedly believe in the love, and the power of said love, as described in the Bible. That is true love. This is the love that is representative of God:
Patient;
Kind;
Not envious;
Not boastful;
Does no dishonour to others;
Not self-seeking;
Does not rejoice in evil;
Rejoices in the truth;
Always protects and lifts up;
Always trusts and believes;
Always hopes;
Always endures and perseveres;
Never fails.
Any act done in the name of God, or Jesus, that does not align with these, was not done in love. And thus, I believe, should not be accounted to him - for God is love (1 John 4: 8).
Thank you 1 Corinthians 13, for reminding us that though mankind will always fail, love - God’s love - never will.

Walking Through Life with God
Every season of life has both ups and downs, positive and negative situations. On top of that, there are spiritual powers in this world that are trying to get us to lose hope.
In the midst of difficult seasons, or even persecution, it can be easy to forget that God is still present with us. He does not abandon us in the midst of suffering. Rather, He strengthens us and walks with us through the pain.
The church in Thessalonica experienced a very similar situation. As they were praying for the gospel to spread across their region, they encountered suffering and opposition. Paul writes to the members of these churches to not only encourage them, but to remind them of God’s character.
He tells them first that the Lord is faithful. This means that God doesn’t change—He is consistent in His character. If He was good and merciful yesterday, He will be good and merciful again today.
It also means that He fulfills His promises. God is faithful to do what He says He is going to do. He is not like a human who changes his mind when things get difficult.
Second, Paul tells these believers that God will strengthen them and protect them in the midst of what they’re experiencing. Paul does not tell them they will never experience evil, but rather—that God will be with them in the midst of it.
Because God never changes, He is able to strengthen and protect us through every experience in life. So take some time to thank God for His strength and faithfulness. Ask Him to help you, and to give you confidence in His power.
