1000+ Posts!
I was going to make this my actual 1000th post, but the queue has a mind of its own. Oh well.
I decided, to celebrate my 1000th post, that I would draw a self-portrait of myself and my main OC’s, since I joined this site in order to post my personal art. I love these guys as only a creator can love their creations, and I wanted to symbolize how real they feel in my head in some fitting way. I don’t have anything fully written for these guys, but they each have fairly well-developed character biographies that I hope to bring to life in story form soon.
From left to right:
Peter the Marshal, my medieval fantasy character. I hope to write a fantasy story about him someday set in a land called Heimar, but I want to work on my writing skills before I attempt to do his story justice. If you want the story concept, though, it’s “The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe in Westeros.”
In case you’re wondering what I look like…now you know.
Chris Carnovo, my oldest OC. A swashbuckling tyrannosaur, Chris has finally found a home in my fanfiction/learn-to-write-a-story project, Swashbucklers of the Magic Kingdom. Chris is the fight choreographer behind all the Disney movies we know and love, but his fencing skills often come in useful whoever his friends find themselves in need—and in the wild world of the Magic Kingdom, many a Disney character finds themself in need of a good-hearted swordsman to help them out of some dastardly villain’s mess…
Leo King, an MMA fighter who loves his family and dreams of becoming “King of the Octagon.” His story concept is basically “Rocky with MMA and Anthropomorphic Animals.”

Milestone Monday
Poetry in Punk
On this day, December 30th, 1946, Patti Smith, a singer, songwriter, author, poet, photographer, and painter, was born in Chicago, Illinois. Often referred to as the "Godmother of Punk," Smith is known for her influential music that blends rock and poetry. Her debut album, Horses, released in 1975, is considered a landmark work in the punk rock genre. Beyond her music career, Patti Smith has written several books, including the acclaimed memoir Just Kids, which explores her relationship with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe and their experiences within the New York City artistic scene. Throughout her life, she has been a prominent cultural figure, advocating for artistic freedom and social change.
Images featured come from:
Our first edition of A Useless Death, a poem by Patti Smith that was published as a chapbook and distributed by Gotham Book Mart and Gallery in New York in 1972.

@lady-merian THIS IS AMAZING! THANK YOU!
Peter looks amazing in your style—you really captured his look. And Lady Merian looks just like what I imagine a noble woman of Heimar looking. I especially like her braids—very practical, yet ornamental, just the kind of style I would imagine of the lower nobility.
I’ll need to make some recursive fan art of this scene.
I think at one point, I wrote a scene featuring my fantasy character, Peter the Marshal (when he was still a teenager and surnamed Perseyn), visiting a small castle in a vaguely British-looking part of his world, and I inserted you as the owner of the castle and someone who saved books from being burned, including a manuscript written by Peter’s assassinated father detailing the history of their family.
I would love to see the moment where your fantasy persona handing Peter the book his father wrote for him.
First, thank you! This has been long finished, and then rethought, (and rethought) and finally here it is!
Technically, this isn’t as described in that scene, which is why I rethought it and tried to draw it more as described, (which is why I haven’t posted till now) but this was the best out of everything else I tried. I hope you like it as much as I liked the scene!

Peter and Yan
From my interviews with High Shepherd Yan:
When Peter freed me, he took me into his dwelling. I do not delude myself into thinking that he took any particular liking to me, but the fact that he thought to give me someplace warm and dry to stay at all was more than could be expected by a young man in his situation. It was a small shop in the village just at the base of the mountain on which Prince Otto Bender’s castle sat, in the middle of the principality of Alpan. It was not uncomfortable, but it was no place for the rightful Lord of the Isles. The fire in the forge served as both heating and cooking oven for the single smoky room, it’s walls almost as black with soot as the dirt floor. I later learned that Peter and Torin Capintyre—All Hail Torin—slept on that dirt floor wrapped in their plaids, with only a few ragged lengths of fabric as pallets.
But that late winter’s day, I did not fully appreciate what it meant for the Lord of the Isles In Hiding to wrap me in his plaid, to take me into his home, to buy my freedom with a dragonsteel dagger. All I cared about was that I was warm, and that, somehow, I was free again. And if Peter was not in particularly good humor—well, he had better reason than most…

New Fleetwood Mac Doc in Works; No Title or Release Date Yet
- “This will be a film about the music and the people who created it,” director Frank Marshall says
Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks are cooperating on a new Fleetwood Mac documentary for Apple Original Films.
“It’s not a ‘Rumour,’” the band said in confirming the as-yet-untitled film from director Frank Marshall.
The documentary seems primed to focus on the Rumours-era lineup of the aforementioned musicians and the late Christine McVie. The band posted three photos of that iteration (above) with its announcement and there is no mention of Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer, Danny Kirwan, Bob Welch, Rick Vito, Dave Mason or any of the other players who joined the band over its long career.
New and previously unseen interviews will be part of the movie, which has no release date, Rolling Stone magazine reports.
“This will be a film about the music and the people who created it,” Marshall said in a statement.
