Writing Inspiration: Music and Playlists
Just shared a few thoughts on my blog. Stop by to read the two cents that I tossed in.
Daily writing promptWhat do you listen to while you work?View all responses Whenever I start in on a project, I make a playlist. I’ll think about the mood that I want to create and how I feel about the inspiration or reason behind the project. Then I’ll go back through the playlist to weed out whatever won’t work. For example, I’ll cut a love song that I added into a playlist for a horror short…

[Image caption: tags reading: "#guy who keeps going to gay bathhouses in the hopes of discovering better ways to bathe #he's having some great sex but remains frustrated in his academic quest". End caption.]
You know we only ever really "learn" how to bathe in our youth as it is taught to us by our parents and from then on most people kinda just bathe the same way right. And like barring actively deciding to do it the only way most people change their bathing habits is if they bathe with a loved one and get convinced to do somethi g different in the bath bc its cleaner/faster/whatever bc of them. Ok heres the thesis statement. The lack of communal bathing in society is holding us back from discovering The Ultimate Bathing

how to prepare for 2025 𐙚
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆
as im writing this, there are only 2 days left in the year. i spent a couple of days preparing for the year, and this is what i have decided to do! so grab ur journal(or just a notebook) and write these questions down with me…🎀
#1 revise.
revise your goals at the beginning of 2024, and will you be bringing them in 2025? what have you achieved? what will you leave behind? what can you do to achieve these goals next year? what did u love from this year that u can bring to 2025?
little tip: for next year, let's make it a habit to write down small goals(e.g. drinking 2L of water every single day)every month, it will eventually become the norm for u. this will keep you more focused & determined. i also recommend using the app ‘habit’ it is SO helpful.
#2 aspirations/resolutions.
grab a piece of paper and brainstorm ideas on who you aspire to be for the up and coming year. make sure u make these goals believable. an example of a believable goal is to hope i lose 10kg, not lose 30. even tho its possible, its never a good idea to be overconfident, because it would lead to burning out.
little tip: make a vision board, a couple of days ago i made one for 2025, and it was so therapeutic !!! i also recommend putting it somewhere u will always be looking at it.
#3 do’s & donts
i used to always do this, so i just primarily write down the habits i acquired this year that i want to continue and the ones i dont. i write this on a piece of paper(basically a list).
#4 mistakes.
if u have made mistakes in 2024, you have the choice of either making the same mistake over and over and over again, or learning from the mistakes and the choices u made that led up to it.
#5 regrets
what did you regret this year, and how can u make up for it in 2025? usually when people regret doing something, they fall back into bad habits, what can you do to prevent that from happening to you?

I think it's important to remember that just because you find someone basic or boring or whatever, you're actually very wrong and they are a unique and layered person with their own complicated life, emotions and interests. They don't have to perform anything to show you how interesting or special they are.
That straight white girl with her stanly cup and sephora makeup doesn't have to show you what makes her 'unique'. The older gentleman who shares conspiracy theories on facebook and mows his lawn early in the morning doesn't have to prove he isn't an 'npc' to you. The woman with the 'Karen' haircut and her son who watches stupid youtube videos don't have to drop everything to demonstrate to you that they can break the stereotypes you've associated with them.
Every person is a real person. Even if you never see them do a thing other than what you expect them to do, they are just as deep and emotional as you are because they are ALIVE! They're real! And they don't owe you a tour into their lives just to prove to you that they have thoughts and feelings! Just because you lack the empathy or understanding to see that someone who doesn't share your same lifestyle, hobbies or stereotypes might actually have a rich and detailed life, doesn't mean you're right.

the most difficult thing about growing as a person socially, as in getting out of your shell and noticing that you are, is that there will still be times when it doesn’t feel like you’ve grown at all! times when you can’t really connect with anyone around you, times when you fail to enter into an existing conversation, times when you say the wrong thing (or nothing at all when in hindsight you probably should’ve). but that’s also kind of the best thing, because that’s the thing that helps you realize that sometimes, it’s not you or your lack of skills or any shortcoming. sometimes certain environments just aren’t for you and certain people aren’t your people, and that’s okay. that’s human. it’s okay to not feel the progress you have made all the time.
#and that goes for every type of growth#backstory of this post:#after I came back after a few months of doing my international internship I felt so much more confident#it was easier making friends and walking up to people#i took more chances#and generally just heard it a lot from those around me who kept telling me how much i’d changed#this was further supported by my first office job that went pretty well#but then came my grad internship. and while i love the work and have met some great people I noticed it was difficult again#there was one office lunch where no one spoke to me at all! it was my first week and I didn’t know what to say#if i should even say anything#we were all sitting at the same table#not one person even glanced my way#it made me doubt myself; i was doing so well before#was that even real? why can’t I just speak up? this is not the way to connect with people#especially in my first week!#but you know what#i was still doing well. i just had to factor in the fact that these were all middle aged people talking about reality shows i didn’t watch#and bikes i knew nothing about#as well as people who knew i was the new intern yet didn’t speak to me at all even though I’d introduced myself to them all individually#and even so#people I couldn’t really talk to about MY interests outside of work either#my point being:#it’s okay to not feel a connection with everyone you meet#it’s okay to fall back into old habits even though you’ve developed new ones#it will never unravel the process you’ve made and the connections you’ve built#you’re doing fine#after this internship I will surround myself with people who reaffirm that belief#growth in the self#self love#positivity

something i've loved thinking about recently is just hunters in general and their general sort of culture bc i think it's one of the coolest things in destiny i love it
like they're sort of folksy and superstitious and probably have their own little version of guardian sea shanties and little good luck rituals they do before hunts or before missions
like i can so imagine 'you gotta slap your left pauldron three times before you leave the ship so your gun doesn't jam' or 'if your cape gets stuck on something in the first hour you're out it's bad luck' and stuff like that
imagining hunter dens in the city in little derelict weird places bc only hunters can get to them and they only tell each other about them
i have a recurring image in my head of a little gaggle of hunters in the wilds around a bonfire and one has a beat up little guitar and they're singing and having fun
idk! just hunters !

Liu Qingge with a braid (Tbh i would try to braid his hair myself without fear of losing my fingers but-)
Tumblr media
I think the only braids he wears are the small ones that connect to his ponytail or when he sleeps cause big braids get in the way or acts like a inbuilt whip if ur hair is long enough

Become Your Best Version Before 2025 - Day 19
Self-Care Rituals That Actually Stick
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let's talk about self-care, but not the Instagram version with fancy bath bombs and expensive face masks (though those can be nice too!). We're talking about real, down-to-earth self-care that fits into your actual life, with all its messy, busy, and beautiful moments.
We often think of self-care as this big, time-consuming thing we'll get to "someday." But here's the truth: real self-care is in the small choices we make every day. It's in those tiny moments when we choose ourselves, even if it's just for a minute or two. And today, we're going to explore how to build these little acts of self-care into your daily life in a way that actually sticks.
Self-care isn't about perfection, it's about:
What actually works for YOU
What you can do consistently
What makes you feel genuinely good
What fits into your real life
What you can afford and maintain
Morning Routine
Start small with these simple morning choices:
Drink water before checking your phone
Take three deep breaths before getting up
Stretch for just one minute
Name three things you're looking forward to
Open a window for fresh air
Quick Breaks
For when you need a reset:
Step outside for 2 minutes
Roll your shoulders and neck
Drink a glass of water
Take five deep breaths
Listen to one favorite song
Evening Routine
Create a gentle evening routine:
Put your phone away 30 minutes before bed
Tidy one small space
Write down tomorrow's main tasks
Do some light stretching
Take a moment to reflect
Emotional Check-Ins
Regular ways to process feelings:
Journal for 5 minutes
Talk to a friend
Notice your mood without judgment
Listen to music that matches your feelings
Give yourself permission to feel
Taking Care of Your Body
Simple ways to care for your body:
Stay hydrated
Move in ways that feel good
Get outside daily
Rest when tired
Honor your hunger
Mental Health
Quick ways to clear your mind:
Do a brain dump on paper
Take a social media break
Say no to one thing
Ask for help when needed
Give yourself quiet time
Creating Your Self-Care Ritual Menu
Have options ready for different situations:
When you have 2 minutes
When you're feeling overwhelmed
When you need energy
When you need calm
When you're feeling stuck
Making it Last
Tips for building lasting habits:
Start tiny (like really tiny)
Keep supplies easily accessible
Don't expect perfection
Adjust when needed
Attach your new self-care habit to something you already do every day. Like:
Do a quick face massage while washing your face
Take three deep breaths while waiting for your coffee to brew
Stretch for a minute while your phone charges
Use your favorite hand cream after washing dishes
Your mission for today:
Pick ONE tiny self-care action
Attach it to something you already do daily
Try it for just this one day
The best self-care rituals are the ones that actually fit into your real life. They don't need to be fancy or time-consuming, they just need to feel good and be doable!
And remember how we talked about boundaries yesterday? Use them to protect your self-care time! Even if it's just five minutes, that time is yours to recharge and take care of yourself.
What's one small self-care ritual that works for you? Or what's one you'd like to try? Let's share ideas!
See you tomorrow for Day 20!

₊˚⊹ ᰔ a guide to maintaining financial wellness ᝰ.ᐟ
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
having good money habits can be insanely difficult. i know i personally struggle with impulsive spending, and i’m sure we’ve all fallen victim to the “i’m just treating myself” mindset. financial stress and even financial depression can feel so daunting and overwhelming, so i’m here to help you guys (and myself as well) manage your money better!
let’s begin !!
ᝰ.ᐟ set aside funds
it’s important that when every paycheck hits your bank account to immediately set aside some funds into your savings account. whether it’s 10-20% of your paycheck or even $20-$100, set aside some money into your savings!
it also might help to have that savings account be locked so that you can still put money in, but you can’t take money out. let that savings amount pile up and don’t touch it until you’re absolutely ready to make that big purchase!
ᝰ.ᐟ set aside any cash
get a piggybank or even one of those money organizing binders to set aside any cash that may come your way! keep that cash away from your wallet so you won’t be tempted to use it in any outside purchases. and, same as the first point, that cash will start to pile up!
ᝰ.ᐟ purchase needs rather than wants
let’s start getting out of that “i’m gonna treat myself” mindset!! while it’s nice to treat yourself, we really should only be doing it every once in a while. we can also find different ways of treating/rewarding ourselves that don’t require spending any money! (i can make a separate blog post on this if you guys would like!)
especially when you’re trying to save up for school, a new apartment, a new car, or whatever it may be, it’s really important to keep your purchases to only things that are absolutely necessary.
ᝰ.ᐟ keep track of automatic payments
especially if you have a subscription of any kind, keep track of when those automatic deductions from your account are happening. make note of when your next billing date is and how much you’re being charged for each month/year.
this would also be a good way to determine what subscriptions you really need/want to keep and which ones you can do without and unsubscribe to! i did a full cleanse of my subscriptions list and kept the ones i definitely wanted to keep. sometimes you never really realize how much money your losing when you’re subscribed to things that have no use to you anymore!
ᝰ.ᐟ plan accordingly
when your paycheck comes in and you have all these payments that are coming up yet you still need to buy groceries or get gas or whatever, make sure to plan your funds ahead of time! this way, it’ll help you budget for your groceries & any other necessities as well as help you determine how much money you can set aside into your savings and even calculate how much extra funds you might have to spend on for more personal things!
𝜗𝜚 final notes 𝜗𝜚
don’t let these tips make you feel like you can’t treat yourself to something! as i mentioned earlier, you can still treat yourself to nice things, but it might be best to do it once in a while! i know most of us associate success with money, and to reach success with money we have to learn to be more mindful about how we spend our money and how we manage it.
live and love, babe.
sincerely, juno ⭑.ᐟ

Brainwash yourself with good habits. You need to do it the way you would train a dog - fetch the stick and get a treat.
I love listening to music but I also wanted to start listening to podcasts. I have to go to work everyday, and I prefer to drive myself to work and back.
I know that if I make myself listen to podcasts both drives, the habit will last not more than 3 days.
But if I make myself listen to a podcast on the way to work; and listen to my favourite music on the way back home to de-stress and relax; now that’s a healthy compromise. And it works for the long term.
The same goes with social media. I deleted all social media from my phone. I don’t have Facebook, Instagram, or even tumblr on my phone. The YouTube account that I keep on my phone has been very consciously kept; I only allow the algorithm to show me educational stuff like podcasts, history videos, news, psychology, stuff like that. Absolutely no entertainment. I keep all my social media (and my “fun” YouTube account which is basically Korean mukbangs and all sorts of useless beauty hauls that I honestly love to watch) on another device - my iPad, which I use for work. I check out what’s happening on tumblr or YouTube or Pinterest when it’s my lunch break or a coffee break. That’s another healthy compromise that works for me.
Going cold turkey with anything - stopping something addictive like smoking or drinking or suddenly starting a plethora of new habits- doesn’t work. You’ve restricted your mind and body so much that you keep remember the good old days where you drank like a whale and sat on the couch watching rubbish and you glamorise, romanticise and reminisce those times. Now you’re in that dangerous red zone where you know that if you see that bottle or the packet of chips, your body is going to reach for it before your mind can intervene.
Aim for long-term, sustainable albeit small habits, rather than complex overnight habits.
