obviously Chip as Jekyll, and the Override as Hyde. would involve some changes to Chip's character to work, but this au would turn the Override into something Chip had unintentionally inflicted himself with in an effort to be able to shed the rigid, permit A38-style beaurocratics of C.O.G.S, Inc.

it starts off fine, he jumps between all the formalities and what freedoms the Override affords him with no qualms- til the Override does something awful. and then suddenly it hits Chip as he tries to forgo the thing that... he can't. he's gone too far. it's part of him at that point, similarly to how it goes in the Jekyll & Hyde book.

She’s not paid enough to deal with people’s problems. She grits her teeth and deals with Alistair’s because it’s like saying no to a Labrador (most of the times, she refused to give a penny to Goldanna). Double-wielding rogue, will aim for the kill in the quickest way possible so she can go on with her life and pass to some more productive activities. Observing her split ends and cutting them off is a more productive activity, to her, than dealing with both Eamon and Teagan. She will not attack first, but once she's your enemy good luck with that, she'll stop when one is dead. Usually the enemy. Raina Hawke

She doesn’t seem to be taking anything seriously. Very laid-back, will make witty remarks on anything and looks dismissive, as if little matters to her. It’s a defense mechanism, because she cares a lot and is terrified of losing a loved one again. Will tease you during fighting with a laugh on her face and dancing around you while stabbing you thoroughly, very street wise, she took her fighting style from wherever and is very difficult to predict her moves. She tries to save her surroundings, but never manages. Fights because she has to, but she has fun in it. Would find some fun in anything, honestly, as deflection not to talk about her feelings. Aisling Lavellan

She’s a cinnamon roll, doesn’t like fighting and thinks that diplomacy is the first thing to attempt. When she does fight, she doesn’t hold back and is surprisingly good at it and a quick thinker, will electrocute your butt with insane precision, directing lightning right in the spot you find the itchiest, offers you a chance to yield, will kill you if forced to. Arcane Warrior, she can double jumping in and fighting in a melee. If you ask her, she’d always tell you that her spells could have been more precise and she could have done WAY better, this while surrounded by a group of people she single-handedly beated down. Knows her weaknesses a little too much. Will fight on horseback if given the chance, will prefer to die than admit defeat if she doesn't respect you and the stakes are too high. I am fairly convinced that the Noldor have the most time consuming, most confusing bureaucracy bullshit imaginable going on. I mean permit A38 kind of level.

It's almost impossible to have anything get passed if you don't know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who is related to the royal family AND who is on good terms with either Turgon or Caranthir, who invented this bullshit out of spite towards eachother.

Or just like try to get in on a day where Finwë is there in person and gives green light to basically everything because he's just that tired™

But like good luck because there will be a mile long queue in front of the palace. Legend has it that people camp in the royal frontyard for the entire week just to get in line first.

I don’t wear my glasses because they’re fashionable or go well with my outfit. I wear my glasses because I need them to fucking see.

I was already irritated with the fact that the insurance only covers the glasses and not the frame, like what the fuck are people supposed to do, hold the two glasses up with their hands? The frame is part of the glasses. Even if you just cover a rate for a basic frame set. Frames are a must have when you need glasses.

And the part where getting a Permit A38 would actually be less of a hassle, because I have to first go to the optician to have my eyes measured, then go to the eye doctor who checks these measures and decides if I need glasses to give me a recipe, then go back to the optician with that prescription to get glasses. I do very much remember how when I first got glasses, the eye doctor measured them to write me a prescription. I did not have to go back and forth. But no, eye doctors no longer measure how well your eye-sight is. What, exactly, do they even do then.

But no, on top of all that nonsense, now I learned that actually fuck that they’re not even paying the glasses.

16 Euro. Per glass. Sixteen. Out of around 130€. That’s like a tenth. I will be sitting on over 200€. What the fuck.

Health insurance is a fucking scam, you gotta wish to be hit by a fucking car just so it will be worth it. Because hey, they will cover hospital bill.

Great. Just great. I never had hospital bills before. But I have eyes that are fucked and need a special aid so I can perform the very basic task of seeing shit.

Basic aids you need to get around should absolutely 100% be covered by insurance if the country demands health insurance of me.

If you force me to pay 200€ a month for health insurance, I ought to demand that said health insurance actually covers the things regarding my health that I need.

What group of entitled able-bodied assholes decided this.

16. Which stereotype about your country you hate the most and which one you somewhat agree with?

I actually had to google German stereotypers for this one 😂

The one I hate the most: Germans have no humour. That is absolutely not true. We have so many great comedians in Germany with such a wide range of humour that there's honestly something for everyone. Like, the German voice actor for Sid the sloth from Ice Age was so good he was flown to New York and tptb were so impressed by what he did that they actually used some of his movements for Sid later on and Sid's original voice actor copied some his mannerisms. The man I'm talking about is Otto Waalkes, one of our most famous comedians. So yes, we Germans have a great sense of humour.

The one I somewhat agree with: Germans are punctual and love order. It's definitely true for me. I'd rather be five minutes early than five minutes late and I do need certain things to be in order (like my work desk). The order thing, however, is both a blessing and a curse. We have a legal paragraph for everything - at least that's how it feels like. Everything is endlessly and needlessly complicated because it needs to be done properly and go through the right channels. Do you remember that scene from Asterix and Obelix where they need to obtain permit A38? That's German public administration in a nutshell.

26. Does your nationality get portrayed in Hollywood/American media? What do you think about the portrayal?

Oh boy. That's a can of worms. 😂 We're always the bad guys. Obviously. It always comes down to Nazi Germany so a lot of media portrays us as unredeemably evil. Which, in a WW2 context, is fair up to a certain point. The thing is though that the world's not black and white. It's not that simple. No whole people are good or evil so it's rather tiring to see American media portray it like that. Kudos to Band of Brothers for actually showing that not all Germans were monsters back then.

An actual pet peeve of mine is German dialogue in American media. There have been instances where it was so bad I actually needed subtitles for my own language. I'm sure the film and tv industry can do better than that. Just get a dialect coach and native speaker to look over the lines. And when an actual German is portrayed, please hire a German actor if they have lines of dialogue. I don't mind hearing an American accent when the character is American and speaking German but if the character is supposed to be German they should sound like one and not like some poor American trying (and failing) to speak an unfamiliar language.

Seven Comfort Movies

1) The Twelve Tasks of Asterix

This is, by far, the most comforting film for me. As a child, my brother and I would regularly re-watch all Asterix films (that our mum had taped, so we were fast-forwarding through 90s commercials and all), and this one is still my favourite. I can quote this film backwards. Thinking about it puts me in a better mood. Passierschein A38 (permit a38) has been a running gag in my friend group forever. Nostalgia goggles are probably at play here, but I’m laughing nonstop throughout the whole thing even now :)

2) Shaun of the Dead

All Pegg/Frost films sit close to my heart and Hot Fuzz is a close second to this one. I’m neither in the habit of watching many films nor in the habit of re-watching the few I’ve seen, but I’ve seen this one at least five times - the combination of (absurd) comedy, tragedy, and romance just gets me.

3) Love, Actually

Every other Christmas, my mum and I sit down and watch this film. The cast is absolutely superb (Firth, Thompson, Freeman, Knightley, Nighy, Makatsch, Grant, Rickman.....) and the different stories told all have their own identity and resolutions. It also should surprise no one that Bill Nighy’s character is my favourite in this.

4) Animalympics

Holy carp, what an incredibly trippy film. I was obsessed with this film as a kid and garnered nothing but question marks when I re-watched it a few years ago with my now-husband. It’s vivid and colourful, fragmented and chock-full of absurd humour and (I assume) allusions 100% lost on me. I bet my parents regretted buying this video cassette because I wouldn’t stop watching it.

5) Airplane!

Most everything I’ve seen from Leslie Nielsen cracks me up. This film in particular is quotable beginning to end and I keep expecting people to call me out on calling them Shirley whenever I use the word “surely”.

6) Grand Budapest Hotel

My gosh, what a beautiful, beautiful film. Wes Anderson needs to be on this list and though Moonrise Kingdom deserves a mention, GBH is what made me fall in love with his style of directing. As usual, a top-notch cast, gorgeous imagery and a heart-warming story not without its ups and downs.

7) Birdman

I grew up going to the theatre regularly, so I feel right at home with this film’s scenery and setting. The illusion of it being one long tracking shot is phenomenal, and so is the performance all around. Gripping and raw, I loved this film immediately.

hi im the emt anon from earlier and yeah the pregnancy scene is something he would’ve been trained for! All the medical stuff is pretty accurate as far as I remember except for sometimes they don’t really represent the protocol too well but that wouldn’t be as glam or quick to show fleshed out so I totally get it lol but I’d loooooove to see buck handling more medical calls (especially delivering more babies??) in the next season bc thats hot 😌

top 5: videogames you've played :)

Oh, that’s a good one^^

1. Final Fantasy X - The first RPG I ever played and I loved it immediately. What I personally enjoy much more than I would have thought is that since the fights are turn based you can really think about how you proceed. Also parentage reveal. I remember seeing that scene for the first time and thinking “I f*cking knew it!!!” and I love it.

2. Tales of Symphonia - I played this through three times so far. Twice with a friend (who introduced me to it. We once met up one week every day during a school break and played it through. That was the second time) and once on my own and it’s also so good. Again a great parentage reveal that made me go “hah! Knew it”, really cool mythology, fun characters, and again an interesting use of how religion can be manipulated and used to form a world in the way you want. Same thing in FFX btw so I’m guessing parts of it is very Japanese since both games are JRPGs.

3. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt + DLCs - Magnificent! Absolutely gorgeous game, fantastic story, fun to play, amazing characters that are good interpretations of the book characters (I’m still amazed at how well they nailed Regis), some really fun sidequests (the Permit A38 quest! that one confuses the USians the most and it amuses me a lot). Just.. such a good game!

The next one I haven’t finished yet because.. reasons.. lol:

4. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice - listen.. I haven’t finished it yet myself but I have seen a complete walkthrough. For me that’s not an issue. It can help because I was a bit afraid that this game could be bad for my anxiety. It’s actually working really well with it for me which is fantastic. 

5. Pokemon Gold Edition - somehow my edition disappeared.. my Typhlosion (apparently that’s its English name) was at level 99. I worked so hard for that and then my copy disappeard. I am still mad about that.

The order is random lol I must say that I own a lot of games but have only finished very few or know how they end. Some people would love to judge you for not being a gamer if that’s the case but those are idiots. There are a lot of people who play videogames and never really finish any while still regularly gaming. Anyway.
