This is my first time trying my hand at drawing the LoR Sephirah!!! Hope you like it hehe

I made a lot of posts summing up my thoughts on the Sephirah/Patron Librarians when I finished LobCorp, and more when I was midway through LoR, but now that I'm all caught up on Project Moon lore, I thought I'd give my thoughts on EVERY Patron Librarian and Sinner.

This'll be a long one, so buckle up.

Angela - Holy shit. Where do I start. Ten thousand people have summed up Angela better than I ever could. She's just like me fr, she's one of the best-written characters, she's amazing in every way. Though to be fully honest... I don't like how some aspects of LoR's story surrounding her were written. But that is a LOOOOONG tangent that probably needs its whole own post.

Malkuth - I've said a lot of mean things about Malkuth. I've called her a "nothing character," I've said she's "just the tutorial Sephirah/Librarian," and I've generally seemed very neutral-to-negative on her. But overall... I do like her. Her need to be recognized for her abilities hits me close to home.

Yesod - Love him in LobCorp. Ruina made him into so much more of an insufferable asshole. I don't like him very much in Ruina.

Hod - Arguably the Sephirah/Patron I relate the most to. Her depression, her need to be seen as a "good person," and just... so much of her dialogue. It all resonates with me. And the way she moves past it all, and is still able to be kind... I love it. My heart.

Netzach - I'm not his biggest fan, not by a LONG shot, but I still love him to pieces. He's so chill.

Tiphereth - If Tiphereth has a million fans, I'm one of them. If Tiphereth has ten fans, I'm one of them. If Tiphereth has no fans, I'm no longer alive. And Enoch is fine ig, I wish he got more screentime though.

Chesed - He's cool. I feel generally lukewarm about him, like a lukewarm cup of coffee.

Gebura - I could go on a tangent about how hot Gebura is, and I won't lie that it is a reason I really like her, but... she's so strong. And courageous. And in a genuine way. She had to learn what courage really means. Her journey in LobCorp is one of the best-written parts of that entire game, almost on par with the ending to me. And the way she chats with Roland in LoR is just so interesting.

Binah - I could go on a tangent about how hot Binah is, and I won't lie that it is a reason I really like her, but... as I've said in the past, I love how she isn't just what she looks like on the surface. She has the ability to be cruel without a second thought, but she can be kind without a second thought as well. For all she seems like a high-and-mighty bastard who revels in keeping information from people and being smart and philosophical, under the surface she is totally not that, and it intrigues me to no end.

Hokma - Gonna be real... I really... REALLY don't like Hokma. Like, at all. I'm verging into "active disdain" territory with him. Which sucks, because I wanted so bad to like him. But I just can't. Sorry chat.

Roland - What is there to say about Roland? He's-- Roland. There's so much about Roland, and my thoughts are almost identical to the hundred other thoughts on his character you've probably read. So I'm not gonna waste your time with that. Just know I really like him.

Now it's time for the Sinners lol.

Yi Sang - He's fine. His story didn't really resonate with me in the way it did for a lot of others. Which is sad to me, but you know, you can't like every character ever. I respect him as a character.

Faust - She is, to me, the definition of mixed opinions. She's hot. She's an insufferable bastard. She seems to care more than she lets on. She's a smarmy know-it-all. She obviously has her own struggles. She presents an aura of I-don't-give-a-shit. She's nice to Dante more than she needs to be. She's on the side of the big company. I cannot ever decide on a solid opinion about Faust, because it changes basically every time they give her a speaking line.

Don Quixote - Dondon :3

Ryōshū - I love her a lot. She's probably not intended to be a funny character, but a lot of her moments are hilarious to me. I love her dynamic with Sinclair. She's pretty as hell. And badass. Most of her Identities are really cool, too. Out of every Canto left, Ryōshū's is the one I'm most excited for.

Meursault - I have no opinions on Meursault. He is perfectly adequate as a character, and my emotional attachment is minimal.

Hong Lu - Hong Lu is a weird one to me. I wanna like him, but he has so little time on screen and so few speaking lines that it's hard to really form an attachment. You can kinda project whatever you want onto him because he's so absent from the story. I need more time to form an opinion, as more Cantos come out.

Heathcliff - God I love Heathcliff. I had a lot of issues with Canto VI, but overall I loved it, and Heathcliff's story. His character development across the game. His relationship and dynamic with Ishmael. There's so much to talk about that, again, I cannot cover in what is supposed to be a short summary of my opinions on each major character.

Ishmael - OUGOGHGHGGHGHGHGHGHG <3<3<3<3<3

Rodion - I really like her, I just wish she was more fleshed out. Which will come in time, of course. Her source material is what really attached me to her (Crime and Punishment is a great book) and that's probably why I'm able to stay so loving of her despite her lack of much real character development throughout the story.

Sinclair - Where to start with Sinclair... I really love his story. And his personality. He ticks every box for what I like in a character. He's cute, too, which helps. They really went off with his Canto, and even though later Cantos have had higher production value and more cool moments, his still has a close place in my heart as the first time I realized Limbus might not just be "worse LoR."

Outis - Not really a fan. I kind of... find her insufferable. Even moreso than Faust. But I KNOW that the SECOND her Canto drops, my opinion will change. She's one of those characters where I can tell her Canto will either make me start to love and worship her, or despise her even more. My opinion is ready to change. I'm ready to love her. And when her Canto drops, I feel like that just may happen.

Gregor - He's fine. Like Meursault, I don't have too many thoughts. He kind of got his story done pretty early, and has been relegated to be a minor side character who provides occasional comic relief. But he serves the role well, and I like him overall.

Dante - Dante is arguably my favorite protagonist. I may like them more than Roland. Their failcringe vibe just captivates me.

assistant librarians can't die in the Library, but it'd be interesting if they could

if everyone had to sit and tend to each other's wounds after a particularly arduous fight, chatting and eating snacks to lighten the mood

if every floor was stocked with first aid kits, though Chesed's floor still acts as the unofficial medical wing

if injured librarians had to swallow painkillers and take days off from their duties, their injuries being a bother

if Binah had to, one day, approach a group of her assistant crowded around your body on the ground. they all back away when she arrives, giving their Patron Librarian and her beloved a moment alone, your last moment alone. you're bleeding, bleeding badly, a few limbs horribly twisted out of place- yet somehow you're smiling, and you cough as she just looks down at you before reaching forward and gently taking your hand

it's colder than hers, for once

your smile falters slightly from the pain, voice whispered and raspy and coming out just in a few words- "Did I do well?"

Binah blinks hard, once, your blood standing out on her fingers

"You did wonderfully. Rest, now."

oopsies i got inspired by this post to make personal headcanons of roland's joke-flirting with the patron librarians because these have begun haunting my sleep

Firstly, the ones that are very Similar in their reactions:

Angela and Yesod: They are Exasperated. "Roland can you stop talking. For ONE SECOND." (no >:3c). I think Angela responds Once in a very snarky sarcastic way in hopes that it will get him to Shut Up but regrets it INSTANTLY because he WILL double down For The Bit.

Yesod adjusts his tie again (someone's gotta enforce workplace dress code) and roland's like "damn at least buy me dinner first" and yesod gives him a withering look like "i am not lowering myself to your level"

Next is Malkuth and Hod: They're friendly but a little distant about it. There's a clear boundary line and Roland respects that. Malkuth might roll her eyes and go "flattery won't get you anywhere" at times, but they both tend to give very genuine compliments and affirmations in response and while their reactions are definitely not the most Amusing/Entertaining to roland he really appreciates the emotional support

Aaaand Netzach and Chesed are the ones i feel would be the most reciprocating(? idk it feels weird to use that word but i can't think of a better one right now) of the joke flirting. lots of back and forth banter and a very "cheers i'll drink to that" energy. Very chill vibes.

Tiphereth: No. He jokes around with her in a different way, very bastard big brother energy. The type of person who would use you as an arm rest. A menace.

Gebura: He attempts once to joke-flirt with her but she shoots him down with "flattered, but i'm a lesbian" and he's like "cool, understood. so like. women am i right." and that's his workplace bonding attempt with gebura. i think she finds it funny in a "he's a little confused but he's got the spirit" way.

Binah: She'd find it amusing. As a reward for entertaining her she psychoanalyzes him and he's like "ah shit retreat retreat retreat." She finds this just as amusing, this is Her workplace bonding activity now.

Hokma: I find it kind of hard to pin down how Roland and Hokma would interact considering they do so little interacting in-game (Hokma's floor interactions being reserved for Angela for Obvious Reasons). I think like Binah he'd be bemused by Roland's attempts, but like Malkuth and Hod he'd have a very clear-cut boundary line where he's friendly about it, But he's also not necessarily going to play along. So he wouldn't really be the most entertaining and Roland would respect that i think...

...Except there's also the Live Angela Reaction. her bff is flirting with her dad what the fuck??????????? roland of course finds this hilarious.

imagine the power he could wield with the magic words "L+ratio+I fucked your dad" it would never happen, but sometimes he just likes to imagine having the power to able to win any argument with angela.

aside from hokmacliff what other sinner/patron librarian ideas do you have…im curious

WELL!

I've posted about it before, but generally speaking I have:

Malkuth - Don (their slightly terrifying enthusiasm and reckless ability to leap into Situations without thinking first)

Yesod - Meursault (stoic and solemn and unemotional on the surface but with Deep Deep Depths Of Fuckery)

Hod - Sinclair (the parallels between her selling them out to the head and him accidentally selling his family out to kromer and the guilt they feel)

Netzach - Yi Sang (Espresso Depresso with a creative streak, but also compassionate)

Chesed - Hong Lu (corporate needs you to find the difference between these two pictures--)

Tiphereth - Heathcliff (and Cathynoch; the very emotional one angry and sad about losing her loved one over and over again)

Gebura - Ishmael (its all about the obsession and hatred over something that hurt you that you couldn't defeat and took someone you loved)

Hokma - Outis (the devotion to your loved ones that means you will be at their side at all costs no matter what, you will return to their side; that and the pocket watches)

Binah - Faust (look it makes sense okay, the mystery and hiding things etc etc)

BUT alternatives alongside hokmacliff are

Tiphereth - Don (specifically ruina Tiph, learning to move on and live for herself while dearly missing the person she loved, her family, who is gone but who would want her to keep going)

Yesod - Gregor (look i'll die on this hill too, with the body horror and the regret for those lost in the war/in the facility)

Ryoshu tentatively Gebura but there's none that really click the same (Ryoshu Iori tho, for non sephirah....).

The former Color Fixer lets out an inelegant snort at his reaction to her reading him like he was another book in her field of expertise. "Look if it's any consolation to ya Chesed got me good the first time I visited him too. Thought I wasn't gonna make it." It was also so heavily caffeinated that she was sure if she was still physically human and drank the stuff her fellow Patron Librarian offered her she would not be able to sleep for days on end.

"You'll get used to it eventually." she adds flicking the lid of her lighter off and back on. "Try to avoid the stronger stuff he offers it will lay you flat in an instant." she warns. Gebura due to her hotheaded nature did go for it and unsurprisingly enough regretted it to the chorus of eight people laughing at her expense.

At least Hokma had the courtesy of helping her out after her blunder when they were all gathered together. They were still the same in some regards despite it all. Though if one had to ask her she'd definitely swipe some of Netzach's booze over the coffee any time

"Angela?" the Patron Librarians were all gathered together with Gebura holding a gift box in her hands and at least one of them from each section of the Library had a gift of their own to give her. "Happy Birthday!"

Angela wasn't expecting everyone to surprise her like this. Though she supposed she should have expected it, considering the kind of people the Patron Librarians were. A warm smile came across her expression as each person stepped forward to offer their respective gifts for her. "Many thanks to all of you. May good fortune find you all as well, even in a place such as this."

She had opened Yesod's present first: a navy blue and gold bookmark with her name etched into it so intricately that it almost looked like it was done by a machine. But no, looking closer, she could see slight imperfections that indicated that her name was likely hand woven into the object itself. She treasured it deeply, and thanked Yesod with a gentle nod of her head.

Next was Hod's gift, and while Angela was slightly dreading opening it, all of her worries flew out the window when the sketchbook came into view. Opening it gave her eyes witness to pages upon pages of beautiful artwork, most definitely all from Hod's own hands. "These are beautiful drawings, Hod.... Are you sure you want to give them to me?" She was clearly delighted and surprised by this one.

Netzach's gift was the next one she opened, and the pressed flowers made her smile. It was very thoughtful of him to do this all for her. It almost made her feel a little more human with each and every present she opened.

Chesed and Gebura gave theirs to her at the same time, and thus Angela opened them both at the same time. The card Chesed gave her wasn't as intricate as some of the other presents thus far, but she still appreciated it all the same. And attached to it was Gebura's gift, a photobook containing all of the memories the Patron Librarians have shared with her up to this point. It almost made her tear up, seeing all of the captured memoirs of their time together.

And last was Hokma's gift, though she waited until the two of them were alone to open it upon request. When Angela opened the box and took out the amethyst hairclip inside, her eyes lit up like never before, and her mouth fell open in surprise. She wasn't expecting something so beautiful, let alone from him of all people! She stood up, then, wrapping Hokma in a tight hug. "Thank you, my dear Hokma... I love it so much...." She stepped back and allowed him to interweave the clip into her pale locks.

Okay--originally my brain went "Chesed from Library of Ruina would adore you," but he's also super easy to say that about with anyone because he's so laidback and kind to others. He loves coffee and drinks it all the time, has a nautical theme for his Floor in the Library (he's the Patron Librarian of Social Sciences), and is very soft spoken. Actually, his Korean VA also vocied Espresso Cookie, if you know him asdfghjkl

But I also want to say Meursault? He's very quiet--only speaks when spoken to, and only really when he's asked questions. He's based on the character from Albert Camus's The Stranger, which is ... a time ... but he's very tall (like six foot), and your ship with Red made me think you guys would get along. He also has a lot of Identites, which are versions of himself from "Mirror Worlds" (basically, Limbus has canon AUs)!! Attaching a handful of screenshots of him because ... well. He's just a neat fellow, amd you should see him asdfghjkl

Anyway ... those would be my two picks for you!!

Triple T or Triple Threat depending on what you thought. We were called that because of the fact I was in Disicplinary, Aronas was Central Command, and Saeko was in Welfare. Truth be told... it was because of Aronas we became infamous... Ahaha..."

"Then there was Chrissy, the Training team head. I only knew her because my brother liked her. She was sweet and... helped prepare me for when I switched locations. Though- I remember she made me walk with an ALEPH at one point... No one got hurt, but..." Locke would soon look away. "As for this place-"

"...No one here likes to deal with me. Whenever I arrive on the other floors, they all kind of... hide away from me. Those that don't either tend to just stare while ignoring me or even call me a traitor. Even some of the abnormalities-" The librarian would explain, giving a small, sad look. "...I think the only floor that I can walk on without such things is Binah’s floor. I don't talk much with them, but it feels a bit less threatening on that floor. Even if the place itself is... extremely intense. I don't remember too much about the people here, just that those that were in Exreaction always scared me. Guess it'd make sense I'd still be on edge."

"...There is this one girl I remember, but whenever I bring her up, people get mad. That's when they bug me. I remember she was a kind person... I try finding her here, but no dice. I know she would have been with Chesed, if everyone else still stays on their original teams." Locke would give a pained look. "I could ask Yesod or Hokma for any information seeing as what they controlled before, but... Something inside of me is telling me I shouldn't remember. I just know... Her name is Fi."

Gregor probably have the library’s floor symbols because author of his book inspiration Franz Kafka is of jewish descent and how the patron librarians/sephirah are themed around the sefirot from jewish kabbalah though unknown how does Gregor have the symbols from the Library in his ego to begin with
