See, I have finals and such but like, then the lookism adaptation came out.........and I had to choose between studying and binging the entire thing.......... I obviously made the sane and correct choice.
Anyway I love the fashionable mute blonde boi. He is my favorite.

Bargain
TV Shows/Dramas watched in 2024
Bargain (2022, South Korea)
Director: Jeon Woo Sung
Writers: Jeon Woo Sung, Choi Byeong Yun & Kwak Jae Min (based on the short film by Lee Chung Hyun)
Mini-review:
I have to say I loved how batshit crazy and unhinged this drama is. You can never really know what it's going to throw at you next, and I feel like that's very hard to achieve these days. Beyond that, the drama makes brilliant use of its long single-take, real-time scenes, which make you feel like you're right there with the characters. The sets are also incredible, and they make the whole thing feel so claustrophobic (in a good way, I guess). On top of that, Jeon Jong Seo, Jin Seok Kyu and Chang Ryul give three show-stopping performances that certainly rank among the very best of their careers. Tbh, I can understand why many people disliked it (the characters tend to ramble, the epilogue feels very unnecesary and sometimes it gets a bit too crazy), but I personally enjoyed every second of Bargain.

The Devil Judge. 8
Story: 9
Acting: 10
Chemistry: 10
Comparable to: Beyond Evil (kdrama); Taxi Driver (kdrama)
I love dystopia type of scenarios so this storyline was really interesting. Yes in ways it has been done before, but this was very nicely executed. First and foremost the acting in this is what makes this drama so brilliantly brilliant. It’s a very dark series. So if you’re looking for fluffy-ness and romance, it’s nowhere to be seen. No BL either. Maybe a sparkling of hints, but more leaning onto bromance then anything else. Nonetheless this is a excellent gripping, thrilling series. Ji Sung is highlight here. Can you expect any less.😉

A series of loosely connected events surrounding (shoujo heroine) highschool student Kim Rok Soo failing to convey his deep admiration towards Lee Soo Hyuk-sunbae, with Choi Jung Soo laughing in the background.
(Basic summary, but the universe won't necessary be limited to that~)

Dude, I just finished the Lookism anime, and it was way better than I ever could have anticipated. If we don't get a second season I'm personally removing the hot water supply to the Netflix offices, replacing all of their sugar in the break rooms with salt, and painting hyper realistic hallway murals on the walls to hoodwink them Looney Tunes style. I'll also be really, really sad, but first that other stuff.

Finally finished 'All of us are Dead'... I would say, good timing, the second season is almost going to be released. 😜
Expected it to be as melodramatic as it is, with harsh reality checks, true dark human side being exposed brilliantly.
Just a few things though.
It should have been Eun Ji against Gwi Nam instead of my sweet baby boy Cheong Sang vs Gwi Nam.
I kept waiting for Eun Ji to appear when they kept on reviving Gwi Nam. Almost lost the count how many times he survived lethal falls but came back, just to annoy the most precious boy.
My girl Eun Ji deserved a closure to not lose hope so brutally.
And that not so necessary, almost barely explained story of that teen mama, seemed so abrupt. What did they intend to convey through her story? Parents loving their kids, no matter what? They already had that covered through three parents going to another level for their kids.
I was expecting that politician lady to be the mother of the class president Nam Ra. All the kids and she mentioned her mother as a powerful lady but then they never touched upon that. Nam Ra even stated, "Do you think anybody is coming to rescue us? My mother wouldn't have set still but you don't see anyone helping us." A short scenario where her so called powerful mother is being bitten, would have been a little helpful.
I also felt that Su Hyuk's background was completely left untouched when he is the one for sure leading into the next season. Why was he a delinquent? What made him change?
I just love the bathroom sheltered squad though. They have my heart for being so adorable and suave all at the same time.
Found it a bit funny how Gwi Nam attacked the cute archer boy and we got him as a horrendous bully in 'Revenge for Others'. 😁
I really want Cheong Sang to survive in that half-zombie state but be there. He is too precious to just disappear in ashes like that. And for sure no Gwi Nam, I will flip tables, he can't be surviving every shit.
And I want the funniest but kindest cop ever to be in the next season. He for sure has a thing or two to settle with the authorities.
