Hello!! I may not be making much sense, but in my defence, i just woke up and had a very cool dream, which is what i'm here about!
I had the very good idea of going to sleep after watching a playthrough of Bloodborne bc Bloodborne is very sexy, and my brain cooked a weird dream about it! And obviously, bc i am obsessed with Obikin, it super was about Obikin. And i just wanna talk about it before i forget or something!
I hope im making sense, but anyways here we go:
So, Anakin is half Force, bc Child of the Force and all that, which means he's very normal (in Anakin way, so not normal by normal). But sometimes he looks very weird or feels very weird, but you can't place how, weirdly uncanny and all that. Anyways, weird. And when he is very angry or emotional, he becomes very scary, and its very hard to look at him, he doesn't change or anything, but he hurts your eyes, kind of like a very bright light might. And the strongest in the force you are, the easiest it is to see (like the insight mecanism in the game) him as he is, which i cant describe bc i couldn't see in my dream.
Obi-wan noticed the pattern obv, but cannot look at him too long and stuff idk i dont very remember that.
There was a part, it was during Mortis arc i think? idk. And so, there was the Father, the Daughter and the Son. And there spawned the Mother, which was the Force, as in the whole force, represented by the Mother, which looked like something i cannot even describe bc dream. And she went to get Anakin back, bc she always wanted a kid, and never could have one, but she found a way to make one by using a human woman (Anakin's mother) and now she wants him!
And Obi-wan very much doesn't want the Force to steal him away, bc that's his Padawan, and he very much wants him there, with him, until forever probably, so he kinda negociates with the weird ass eldritch-monster-thing about it. He said things, which were very sexy and that i forgot, but it was basically about how Anakin was gonna die someday anyways and she can have him then but not a second sooner, bc once he's dead he's gonna be hers for eternity but now he's definitely Obi-Wan's. It was all very sexy.
I also remember that the Mother laughed and hugged him (Obi-Wan) with her weird not-arms, made him swallow something (forcefully) and then released him, and when he stopped choking on the thing (it was liquid, looked carmine red but gold at the same time?? i think it was blood) he looked at the Mother again and could see her somehow (still can't describe her bc i wasnt him so my dream didnt let me see :") ) and he heard her say "you can have him as long as you're alive, but as soon as you die, ill come get him", so now he has to stay alive to keep Anakin.
Also i think the Mother's blood that she made Obi-Wan drink raised his midichlorian count, so now when Anakin does his weird shiny angry thing, he can look at him without bleeding from the eyes or something.
Also i think there was a part about how the brighest lights cast the darkest shadows, Palpa-thing trying to corrupt Anakin, and Obi-Wan being able to literally see the corruption, and do something about it.
Gods i hope it makes sense.
Anyways i love you, i hope you're having a good day!
ahhh i wish my dreams were half as vivid or descriptive!!
this feels like perfect eldritch anakin vibes + plus a somehow becomes immortal obi-wan just so no one can take his padawan from him because i think he'd do something like that through accidental spite
i mean if anyone could defy the force through sheer willpower, it may be obi-wan idk

Another reread, another question I had. I’m so sorry if you ever get sick of me🤣🤣🤣
Did Obi-Wan keep Satine’s record player with him after she passed away?! It was on my mind for a while now, and then of course I’m rereading it again and the record player came up and I’m like yes now is my chance to remember to ask!!
Whatever the opposite is of being sick of you, that's what I am!
I think he would have offered it to Bo-Katan, because he would feel like he should, but Bo-Katan turned him down and told him to keep it (it meant more to the two of you, I wouldn't use it and someone should, I have other things to remember my sister by, etc.). So he has it, and maybe all but one or two of Satine's (or their father's) albums that Bo-Katan did remember and want for sentimental reasons.
He does use it, but will only play one of 'their' records when the kids are out of the house and he's had a bit to drink. Anakin asked, the first time he saw him do this, if that meant Obi-Wan wanted him out of the house, too, and Obi-Wan said no, he'd rather Anakin stay, so Anakin got a little bit drunk and sad with him :(
But Obi-Wan will also, on Saturday mornings when he doesn't have to work, wake up with the twins and put on Robert Palmer's 'Addicted to Love' and dance around the living room with them, which is so loud-plus-also-endearing that it's worth it for Anakin to get out of bed early and watch them :)
Aaaand maybe I should use this for a future chapter update :D Thank you for this idea!!

And there was that smile again, the one he seemed to reserve especially for her that lit up his eyes so they sparkled like aquamarines. She leaned even closer, as unable to resist that smile now as she had been six years ago when they first married. He did look different: more mature, hardened even. Her eyes roved over him for a moment, appreciating the way his frame had filled out with additional layers of muscle. She felt a white hot streak of desire race down her spine as she wondered what he looked like now under the layers of his pirate garb. “Hmmmm, well you do look different,” she replied, her eyes meeting his again. “I like the hair, not so sure about the beard. But you could have come home utterly bald, and I wouldn’t care.” All that mattered was having him home again. While Padmé was certain there were many things they’d have to work through - they’d never really lived together, after all - she was also confident that they could work through anything together.
He assured her that he was here to stay, and Padmé felt her smile widening. Her arms looped around his neck again, hugging him tightly to her while she laughed in delight and pressed kisses to his cheeks, his lips, his neck, and then finally laid her head to rest on his shoulder. “This is the happiest day of my life, now that our family is finally together again,” she murmured.
Speaking of family, she followed the line of Anakin's gaze back towards their house in the distance. "They are," she answered, understanding who he was asking about. "The twins ought to be waking up soon, if they aren't already hounding poor Obi-Wan and Sabé for breakfast. Come on." Stepping out of his embrace, she stood beside him and took his hand, leading him back towards the house. "I think they'll recognize you from the holos we've showed them." She squeezed his hand and smiled up at him. "I can't wait for you to finally meet them. You're one of their favorite bedtime stories, so they ask about you quite often."
When they reached the porch, she found the front door open with Obi-Wan and the twins standing in its frame. Leia looked cautiously optimistic, held safely within Obi-Wan's arms, and Luke was peering out from behind his leg, staring up at Anakin with round blue eyes in his little face. "Good morning, my little loves," she said, greeting them both with a warm smile. "I have someone very special for you to meet." Exchanging a glance with Obi-Wan, he herded Luke back inside and then closed the door behind all of them. Although they had purposefully chosen a home on the outskirts of town to afford themselves the maximum privacy, she still thought it best to have this conversation indoors.
While the group moved inside, Luke had been watching his mother and this new man intently from behind Uncle Obi's left leg. His mother looked happy. Very happy. He could almost see a golden glow emanating from her body in the Force. And she was holding this new man's hand, and he looked happy and strong and also very nice. Plus they had the same hair and eye color. Mommy had told them that one day their father would come home from his travels, when it was safe for him to be part of their family again. Maybe that day was today. So, once the door was closed, Luke stepped out from behind Uncle Obi and took a few steps towards the new man to ask: "Are you my daddy?"
You look good, she said, as if three years on the run had not changed him, made him look tired and drawn and weary. Perhaps because in her presence, he did not feel those things. In her arms, he felt like a new man, his old self, and he had not been Anakin Skywalker for so long, he was perhaps a little surprised how easily he slipped back into him. His hands did not leave her, on her shoulders, on her face, grasping her wrist has she touched his face. "Never better," he assured her and he knew it to be true. Time had passed but they fit together so easily, as if they were meant to be two halves of a whole, and as soon as he laid eyes upon her, he knew everything would be alright. No matter what was thrown at them now, they were together. "Do you like it?" Anakin teased, smiling and holding her hand against his cheek, turning into her touch. "I needed to look less like myself," He explained, gesturing after a moment to his hair.
He was no longer boyish and soft around the edges. He'd lost weight and gained muscle, become hardened by necessity. If you'd held a picture of the hero with no fear against the man he had become, one might struggle to find similarities. Nothing had really changed for them - they were still wanted by the Empire, as were all who belonged to the Rebellion, and they were still in hiding, still on the run. The only difference is that now they would do it together, which was all Anakin had ever wanted. Who better to protect his family than him? Obi-Wan had done an admirable job but Anakin could no longer keep his distance, not as it appeared there would never be an ideal time for a reunion. The Empire was everywhere, with no sign of slowing down or being defeated. The fight against the Sith, against Palpatine, would not be over in months and clearly not even in years. It would take longer than anyone had hoped but he would not stop fighting and neither would she.
"I'm not going anywhere. I've been away long enough....and besides, the Empire killed me, remember?" They'd wanted to be done with old ghosts, to reassure the people that no criminal could outrun them, and even if it was a blatant lie, it served to make Anakin less conspicuous. He'd heard of his own death, and felt a sense of closure. That man was dead. The one who had almost lost it all. The one who had let fear rule him. He was gone, reborn into someone stronger, wiser. He still had much to learn and even more trauma to work through but now he was home, and he would finally have a moment to breathe. He felt like he could take a moment and appreciate what he had for the first time in years. Presently, all he wanted to do was touch her, taste her, feel her skin on his, her hand in his own, as if she might vanish or fade away. He had dreamed of her, but it had not done her justice.
There was only one thing he yearned for more than to stay in this moment forever and that was his children. Were they in the house, down the way? Would they recognize him? Had she shown them pictures? Did they know stories of their father? Did they know he loved them? "Is everyone..." He began, nodding beyond her to their shared home.

"I haven't seen him since he left."
Obi-Wan was desperate to know where Anakin was, but y/n didn't understand why. He had come here to ask her when the last time she saw him, and it didn't take much small talk before the questions came pouring like lemonade on a hot summer day in the middle of June.
"Do you know where he is right now?"
"No, I don't." but she desperately wanted to know, too. She knew he wasn't at Naboo - Obi-Wan wouldn't have asked for her help if he was. But if we are here to confess, she had gone to look for him there multiple times. But she never saw him again after he left.
"Please, y/n. I need your help." y/n walked over to the couch right by the duo. The same couch she and Ani had been sitting in only a couple of days before.
"he's in grave danger."
"from the sith?"
"From himself. He has turned to the dark side." Obi-Wan put his hand on her shoulder, trying to comfort her while delivering these news. Not even she can bring him to his senses now, only Anakin himself can.
"you're wrong." y/n started, shaking her head.
"it cannot be, he would never."
"I know why he left, and i know you went to visit him before he did. you shouldn't have." Obi-Wan knew that Anakin had strong feelings and were attached. It was ultimately Obi-Wan's decision to send Anakin away to Naboo - but he had returned just a couple of days ago. The killings of the younglings were his fault - among the other things that had happened the last couple of hours / days. And Obi-Wan explained everything.
,
a couple of days later, y/n was on her way to mustafar. She'd gotten information from C-3PO that Anakin was enjoying his stay here. Said reason was because he needed some time alone - y/n also had to promise not to tell anyone, because he had promised Anakin that he wouldn't say anything to anyone. If he did, he would be destroyed.
Anakin needed time alone, so it might not be the best thing to bother him – but it had been 2 days since he'd been seen last.
On the way, y/n was stressed out. She was scared that everything Obi-Wan had said was true - that the true Anakin was lost and long gone. But at the same time, Anakin had been on edge every time y/n would do so much as mention Obi-Wan lately. Maybe they turned against each other? It can't be. There is no way. They are like father and son - though neither would admit to it, their love and loyalty to each other goes too deep to ever turn against each other. But why would Obi-Wan put out such rumours? Anakin killing younglings and turning to the dark side? Thats not the Anakin she knows .. That anyone knows.
.
Anakin saw y/n ship and ran over, happy to see her more than anything or anyone. He wanted to see her and he wanted to talk to her .. But after recent events, he cannot return to Coruscant. Not yet.
y/n saw Anakin, she opened the hatch before getting up. She ran out of the ship, leaving C-3PO inside.
The couple ran to each other, hugging as soon as they got close enough to do so. While in the hug, Anakin broke the short lived silence.
"I saw your ship. What are you doing here?"
"Obi-Wan told me terrible things.. You've turned to the dark side – killed younglings?" Y/n was out of breath, and that plus the huge lump in her throat made it hard to speak. It was almost like the lump was filled with tears and sorrow, waiting to burst any minute.
Speaking, Anakin couldn't look her in the eyes. Look in her face as he was forced to lie to her. He knew she would never be able to look at him the same - love him if she knew the truth. Because the truth is that he is trying to save her: cost what it may. If a few lives has to go lost in order for his love to have hers? So be it.
"He is trying to turn you against me."
"He cares about us, Anakin. He wouldn't-"
"Us?" Anakin barely let y/n finish speaking before he did. His voice was soft but also confused, in a way.
"He knows.. He has known ever since you returned. Anakin, he wants to help you."
He almost had to laugh. To detain the laugh, he had to smile. Let the laugh out in a different way than noise. He looked down and shook his head, but the smile was short lived. The thought of Obi-Wan wanting to 'help' him after what he did was almost laughable. The fact that y/n believed him *was* laughable.
"All I want is your love. So please, just-"
"Love won't save you, y/n. But I can. So please, just trust me." Their eyecontact was not to be broken. They looked each other right in the eye - doing so, y/n realised something was definitely off with him. Was he turning into someone else? Something else?
"You're a good person. Don't do this. I'm begging you."
"I won't lose you the way I lost my mother. I'm becoming more powerful than any Jedi has ever dreamed of. I'm doing it for you, to save your life."
Losing his mother was tough. It was always them against the world - and then he left to become something better. Bigger. But when he returned again, she was dying in his arms before he could do anything about it. A part of him joined the dark side right there and then when he killed them all. Men, women .. Children. He can see things before they happen and had had a repeating dream that y/n would be killed by a lightsaber - but never saw a face except hers. She was going to die if he didn't do something.
no matter the cost.
"No life is worth more lives. To be hurt is to be human, Ani. But I'm not going to die. Not now. So it you truly want to protect me - if you don't want to lose me: come away with me. Lets leave everything else behind while we still can." She was holding his face with her hands, trying to lure him with comfort. But it wasn't working. Anakin wasn't Anakin anymore.
"Don't you see it? We don't have to run away and hide anymore. I've brought peace to the Republic. I am more powerful than the chancellor. Together, you and I can rule the galaxy. Be together without worrying about what rules we are breaking."
hearing this, y/n backed away a few steps. Anakin was long gone, and Obi-wan was right. The lump of tears and sorrow was closer to breaking than it ever was before.
"Obi-Wan was right. You've changed - become something else." y/n furrowed her brows, face scrunching up as she attempted to battle the tears filling her eyes to the point where everything was a blur. It was like she needed glasses, but wasn't wearing them. A simple blink would make the tears overflow and quickly let go - and it was a matter of seconds before it would happen.
"I don't want to hear more about him. He turned against me - everyone did. I can't take you turning against me too." Even Anakin was on the verge of tears. Watching his one, true love hurt like this really got him some type of way.
"I don't know you anymore."
"I'm still me, my love."
"But you're breaking my heart." One or two tears ran a marathon down each one of y/n cheeks. It was getting hearder to talk now too. Harder the breathe. The lump had fractured but instead of dissolving? It just got bigger. Harder to swallow down and ignore.
"You are going down a path I cannot follow." She was taking sharp, needed breathes between sentences - staying backed off from the man in front of herself.
"Because of Obi-Wan?"
"Because of what you've done. What you plan to do. Stop. Stop this now and come back. It's not too late to come back."
While y/n was giving her speech, Anakin saw a figure moving behind her. He saw Obi-Wan.
"I love you." y/n didn't know what she could possibly say to bring Anakin back to her and to his real, good self. All she knew was her own feelings for him, which was pure and clean love. She was hoping reminding him of this could help, but it didn't.
"Liar!" Anakin yelled.
"You're with him. He's here to kill me and you brought him." Anakin was hurt, scared. But his true emotions didn't come through: didn't matter. The dark side had taken over his body and he had no choice but to obey. It was natural now.
Anakin brought up his hand, using the force to choke y/n as Obi-Wan came walking out of the ship. Y/n tried to say no - tried to explain how she didn't know Obi-Wan was on the ship and how she would never betray him like that. But it didn't matter. No words made sense and it was getting harder and harder to make a single sound. Imagine what its like breathing.
"Let her go, Anakin."
"Give me a reason." Anakin responded, seeing nothing but red.
"Let her go."
he did.
Anakin let her go.
Y/n fell onto the ground, unconscious.
Anakin quickly realized what he had done, but it didn't matter. He might be the most powerful sith out there, but he couldn't reverse time.
"You turned her against me."
anakin yelled, looking from her to Obi-Wan.
"You have done that all by yourself.
"You will not take her from me."
"Your anger, foolishness and lust for power has done that already. You have no one to blame but yourself."
.
a few days later, Anakin had fought Obi-Wan and lost. He wasn't dead but he was closer than ever. Until he was found and saved.
Obi-Wan had brought y/n away from mustafar, and they were now having a conversation about the events.
"He's a good person." y/n started, breaking the empty silence in the air.
"I know."
“His love was the only hoax I believed in,” she spit, redirecting her sadness into anger. How could he do what he did out of love?
"He loved you deeply, y/n. You must know that."
"He didn't do it for love. He did it for power, like you said."
"I said that when i was angry. Angry at myself for not seeing the signs that he was becoming something else. I needed to blame someone else than myself for only a minute, so I blamed Anakin."
"It has frozen my ground. I'm not able to move without seeing him everywhere. Even now, when you came - i thought and I hoped that it would be him." Obi-Wan, fighting his own despair, nodded sympathetically, grabbing hold of her hand for comfort.
"It's said he's alive, you know?" y/n said, before the silence was born once again.

Hello :) so I have a question about the Obikin ship, I don’t necessarily ship them but I love the characters and the complexity and depth of their relationship and I’ve read the novels and watched the TCW series and I really get why people would ship them and there is nothing wrong with it… that being said, it’s just hard for me to get over the fact that one of the person raised the other for more than 10 years. I mean if someone told me that they adopted/welcomed a 9 years old, care for them and ten (or more because most of the stories happen when Anakin in his early 20’s) years later that they are in a relationship with them I would find it strange. Like I get their connexion is like no other that they have admiration, respect and love towards the other, I’ve read some pretty good au were Obi-Wan didn’t raised Anakin or au of modern world and yes it was cute. It’s not about the difference of age but when it comes to the world where Anakin has been under Obi-Wan’s care for so long I found it uncomfortable (for example there might been some form of ascendancy from Obi-Wan to Anakin even unconsciously) or because it feels weird to think that Obi-Wan watched and helped Anakin through all the steps we have to go during childhood (plus Anakin’s a former slave and lost his mom and is in need of a father/parent figure) and puberty and even if the nature of their relationship changes only when Anakin is an adult wouldn’t it be weird for Obi-Wan to held Anakin in his arms knowing that he did just that when Anakin was just a child ?
Just some thoughts I hope I haven’t offended anyone I respect the ship entirely some of the stuff is very very good.
buddy you're allowed to be squicked by things! if it's not for you, it's not for you. i am not going to explain why daddy kink exists or why people like it though

Masterlist    /     Chapter 1 Chapter 3
Pairing: Obi-Wan Kenobi x Fem. Reader
Rating: General Audience

A/N: Welcome back everyone! This the second chapter of the Cinderella inspired Star Wars AU fic. The italic parts are a memory that Obi-Wan is thinking about. This chapter is about Obi but I promise the reader will be back in the next chapter. Also, I know this picture of Ewan does not have a beard, but I mean....it was too perfect not to use! 😊 As always, thank you to everyone who reads, re-blogs and likes! It means the world! 🥰 Also, for this story, let me know via the comments and I’ll create a tag list if anyone is intereasted.

Obi-Wan sat astride his large white horse, Boga, as he overlooked the fields below him. From where he sat, he could see the Palace and the grounds that encompassed it. Beyond the palace gates he could see the village that was the capital of the kingdom. He could see the houses, the town square, the fountain, people rushing about and mingling with one another as he went about his day.
He sighed deeply. The wind gently blew little wisps of his thick auburn hair across his forehead.
“Why can't it always be like this Boga? Just you and me...Huh girl? No worries, no problems...and no balls.” He gave the horse's neck an affectionate pat.
The prince loved animals, but he especially had a soft spot for horse Boga. As a young boy he was always getting into trouble because he would sneak off to the stable to check on her or spend time with her when he should have been doing other things. Obviously he knew she was safe and well cared for, but he considered them good friends and wanted to make sure she wasn’t lonely in the stables. Plus, he had a theory that like him, she had a hard time fitting in with other horses; as he did with other humans. People only saw him as a prince, not a person. To make his visits extra special for her, he would hide carrot sticks or sugar cubes in his pockets and when he would visit her, he would give them to her.
Ever since this morning he had been pondering his fathers words about the ball. He knew his father meant well, but all of these balls really were starting to wear on him. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to find someone to marry, he did….but he wanted to do it his way. Titles, money and family surnames meant nothing to him. If he was going to marry someone, he wanted to marry someone who he loved….or at least could tolerate; he would settle for toleration if he had to. But, he deep down wanted more than just that.
As a Queen his wife would have an opportunity to directly affect their people. She could do so much good for the kingdom while being a strong leader; or at least that's what he envisioned the women of his dreams would be like. There was so much life had to offer. He wanted to find someone who had a passion for it...for people, someone who wanted to actually do something with their life; not just sit around wearing a tiara, waving their hands around, barking orders at people because their marriage had made her a princess.
But, if he didn’t do something soon, he knew his hand was going to be forced. Prime Minister Sheeve Palaptine had threatened to arrange a marriage for him more than once if he didn’t choose a bride; and soon….and to his dismay, his father hadn’t said a word against the Prime Minister in his defense. That only conveyed to him that his father was also serious and growing tired of the situation that Obi-Wan had found himself in.
“Put yourself in his shoes, Obi-Wan.” He remembered his father saying to him. “As an elected official he has to take the people's wishes and the Senate into consideration. A bride will fix a lot of people's anxieties. It tells the public that the kingdom is secure.”
“But the kingdom is secure.” He had argued through gritted teeth. Why did everyone think that he needed a woman to run the kingdom? Hadn't he been groomed and trained for the role of King since he was born? Hadn't he excelled in his studies and taken on small responsibilities under his father's guidance? If that was the case then what would a woman change?
Qui-Gon had given him a small smile. “I understand my boy. I have complete faith in you….But as a King you need to get used to reassuring the people and the Senate. It's a delicate balancing act that requires walking a tight line and constant negotiation.”
As he sat on his horse looking at the palace, he felt that conversation with his father now return to haunt him. It was a constant negotiation indeed.
After all of these balls, he was starting to wonder if such a woman even existed. Every time he tried to remain optimistic and positive, it always turned out the same. All they saw was glitz, the glamour, and the crown. No one ever asked him questions that were about him. All they wanted to know was what the crown could do for them, or what it was like to be Royalty. Sometimes they would ask him silly questions like, “what did he eat for breakfast?” or  “How many horses did he have?”, “ How many balls did they throw a year?”   Like any of that really mattered. He had truly started to give up.
The sound of approaching hooves jarred him from his thoughts. He turned to see Anakin riding towards him. He rode a large black horse. Anakin loved that horse, whom he had endearingly nicknamed R2. His name was actually Roland the 2nd, but that was too much for Anakin to say all the time so he just called him “R2.” If Obi-Wan didn’t know any better, he’d swear that horse was his emotional support pet…..well….who was he kidding...Boga was his emotional support pet.
“There you are! I’ve been looking everywhere for you!” He shouted as he approached Obi-Wan.
“Whelp, you’ve found me.” He said dryly.
Anakin slowed R2 down to a walk as he came to stand the horse next to Obi-Wan and Boga.
“Oh come on….You’re not still sulking about the announcement of the Ball are you?” Anakin teased.
“I’m not sulking, I don’t sulk. I finished my lessons for the day so I decided I would come and spend some time with Boga.”
“Ah, yes, of course. Madame Boga, lovely to see you again.” Anakin bowed his head mockingly toward the horse.
Obi-Wan rolled his eyes. “Is there a reason you came to seek me out other than to bust me up?”
Anakin smiled. He took great pride in ruffling his friends feathers. It didn’t help that Obi-Wan made it so easy for him to do so. Even if he was the crown prince, Anakin never treated him any differently than he would anyone else, and Anakin teased everyone.
“Yes. I wanted to talk to you about everything that's going on. You can fool the others, but I know you. For you to come out and take Boga for a ride when you have so much on your plate...then this Ball must be really stressing you out and wearing on you.”
Before Duke had been teasing, whereas now, as the Prince turned to look at his friend, he could see that there was a look of genuine concern on his face. It made Obi-Wan soften his stance, letting out a breath of air that caused his shoulders to sag.
Titling his head toward the castle, he gently nudged Boga forward so that the horse started walking. Anakin nudged R2 to follow suit.
“It's the same thing every time Anakin. No one actually cares about me at these balls. All they want to know is how big the palace is? How many servants are there? What far off kingdoms can we travel to once we marry or what perks come with being Queen? And if they do ask me questions about myself, it’s frivolous questions.”
Anakin chuckled. “Obi-Wan….what do you expect? You're the future King. Half the women of the court have been told since birth that it’s their sole mission in life to make you fall in love with them just so they can be Queen and elevate their families status. If you told them that you loved chocolate pudding then they would eat nothing but chocolate pudding in hopes of catching your attention. These women are trained to jump when you tell them too.”
“Exactly!” He huffed out an annoyed sigh. “That is absolutely infuriating! Are people so low that that’s all they care about?! Women who are no better than trained monkeys because they just want to please the future King? What about a woman with ideas? Passion? A brain? Who isn’t afraid to tell me what she thinks…. What about me? What if a woman couldn’t stand me so much, what if we were complete opposites and she absolutely hated my guts? Hmmm?.... She’d probably still go through with it. Half of them want to be Queen so badly, they would marry a man they hate for a crown and a title…”
“I think that’s going a bit too far my friend. No one actually hates you.” Anakin chuckled.
Obi-Wan scowled at Anakin. “You’re missing the basic point. All people seem interested in is the crown. No one has ever asked me what I wanted to do or change as King; what my goals are for my people and my Kingdom. Don’t they care that I want to make things as good for my people as I can? As Queen they would be a part of that. What if my goals were to raise taxes and bleed the people dry while plunging us on a war campaign to take over every other Kingdom within 500 miles while instituting a complete and total monarchy?!” He shouted and waved his hands exasperatedly.
“Well….if that was the case the Senate would probably have your head in a basket considering that this kingdom has a constitutional monarchy and has had one for the past 300 years….If they did allow you to live...Well then senators, like my wife, would attempt to stop you every chance they got.” Anakin chuckled again as he spoke.
Obi-Wan gently pulled Boga’s reins, causing her to stop. He looked at Anakin with frustration in his eyes. “I am trying to be serious here and all you can do is joke around.”
Anakin pulled R2 to a stop. “Because Obi-Wan….I know you. You're a good man with a good heart. You always do the right thing, always. You're capable, brave, and kind. The kingdom is the best hands that it could be in next to your fathers. Because of all of this, I know that there is someone out there for you. You just have to find her. She is going to come into your life and shatter every expectation you have….and she isn’t going to give a shit about your title in the process. She’s out there, I know she is.”
Obi-Wan’s expression lost its edge as he registered his friends' words. It was times like this he remembered why the Duke of Tatooine was his best friend.  “That would be the dream.”
Anakin nudged Obi-Wan’s shoulder. “Trust me buddy….it will happen….She’s out there, you just haven’t met her yet. But you will, one day. Look how lucky I got with Padme. If I can find Padme, you find a Queen.”
Obi-Wan smiled brightly at the thought of Anakin’s wife. “You did get very lucky. Not all women are like Padme.” He looked at Anakin with a hint of mischief in his eyes.
Watching Anakin gloat about his wife was one of his favorite things to do. Anakin always acted macho and confident, but it was just a surface act. He too was a good man underneath and he very rarely let that side of himself show. But, when he did, Obi-Wan never let him forget it.
“Pft, damn right! She’s as beautiful as she is smart, among other things…..I would never let her know this, but I’m the lucky one in the relationship.”
Obi-Wan gave his friend a big smile as he looked at him. “You’re screwed. I’m telling her you said that.”
Anakin’s face dropped. “Do it and you're dead…..She’s already the more dominant one between the two of us…..ugh, she’ll be insufferable…..” He groaned. Obi-Wan’s chuckle made him wince harder. “Do it and I’ll tell your father you’ve chosen Duchess Satine of Mandalore as your bride.” He shot back.
Now, it was Obi-Wan who groaned and swept his hand through his hair as he nudged Boga forward again.
“Oh come on….Why don’t you just pick her Obi-Wan? I mean you could do much worse.” Anakin yelled as he caught up to his friend.
“Because I don’t like her that way.” He said flatly.
“Oh now you're being the difficult one. What's not to like? She’s refined, sophisticated, not to mention beautiful... She’s already royalty, her people love her and she’s interested in you.”
“Do you realize the only thing she has going for her according to you is looks and sophistication? Which by the way she has more going for her than that….” Obi-Wan murmured.
“Exactly!...So see...Why the continued hesitation? She’s made it more than obvious that she has feelings for you.”
Obi-Wan sighed. “Because...like you AND I said before...I want someone whom I have things in common with, someone whom I can relate to...share my dreams with….someone has dreams and goals OTHER than being a princess or a Queen….”
“Well how do you…” Anakin started but Obi-Wan cut him off.
“I’ve known Satine for years and in all those years I’ve had numerous conversations with her. While she is pleasant and bright, she’s extremely reserved. She doesn’t seem to get excited about anything….She lacks passion...It’s almost as if she has no personality other than being a leader. BUT she isn’t even a passionate leader, it's just….what it is for her...Like it's a job she does and then at the end of the day it's over until tomorrow.”
“Yeah….I can see that.” Anakin muttered.
“Exactly. She is a wonderful woman who will make someone very happy…...just not me…”
“Still….Just know that all of these balls could end if you just pick her….She’d accept in a heartbeat. Her and the dozens of the other princesses who continue to throw themselves at you…”
“Yup. The same girls at every ball.” Obi-Wan groaned.
“Well there are only so many nobles and royals in ours and other kingdoms….I mean it’s not like we could open the ball up to everyone in the whole kingdom...…”
Anakin was still talking but Obi-Wan wasn’t listening. As he looked off into the distance at the palace, something Anakin said had sent his mind racing with a world of possibilities.
“What did you say about “everyone?”” The Prince interrupted as he stared off at the palace, half lost in thought.
The Duke opened and closed his mouth several times.  “....I….I said we can’t open up the ball to just any old person…” Anakin stammered.
Obi-Wan turned to look at Anakin with a look of glee in his eyes.
“Oh no.” Anakin murmured.
“Oh yes! Anakin you’re brilliant you know that?!….I’m giving you all the credit for this one!”
He set Boga off at a gallop, racing across the short distance that was left to the palace.
Anakin sighed.
“Oh…..I don’t know who is going to kill me first for this one….The King or Mr. Windu?” Anakin muttered as he pushed R2 to catch up with his best friend.

The beauty & the sith
Pairing: Darth maul x Jedi
Warnings: Canon details changed for plot purposes. Mentions of death. The battle of Naboo.
Summery: A tale as old as time. A young Jedi falls into the trap of a careless sith to protect her father.
Authors note: this will be a series, hopefully
Tumblr media
“I’m going to the library, father” (y/n) said as she fixed her lightly colored robes and clipped her saber to her side. Her father, Qui-Gon, looked up at her from his scroll with a soft smile. (Y/n) was his only child, not his biological daughter, his niece rather. The Jedi let him take her in after the death of his sister, he raised her as his own along side Obi-Wan.
She was always so smart, so strong willed and compassionate. She was just like his sister and she reminded him of that every day. She reminded him of the brave women his sister was, and how much light she put in his life, and everyone she met. (Y/n) was just like her in every way. Especially in the color blue.
“Where did you get those robes?” He asked curiously as he closed his scroll, setting it aside.
“Oh- I found them in my chest” she smiled looking at him. Probably a gift from Obi-wan, she was used to getting things from him. (Y/n) never had a problem with Obi-wan, but she was definitely not interested in him. He was like a brother to her, but to him she was much more.
Qui-gon nodded and smiled softly “you look lovely in that color...be safe” he said standing up and kissing her head “stay away from boys” he teased her. She only shook her head and looked up at him.
“I don’t think any of the men in this temple will ever be a bother to me, father” she whispered as she tied her hair back into its ribboned braid.
“And they better stay that way, or I’ll have a long talk with the council” he said sternly as he held his hands together.
“What if they are members of the council?” She asked with a smirk, always having to question the things he says just to know the answer, never for real importance.
“Then I’ll speak to master today privately about the matter.” He said looking down at her.
“Whaaaat if it’s Master yoda?” She asked again. Her father only gave her a look before pushing her to the door gently.
“Go on, before someone takes what you’re looking for” he said as she giggled and walked out the door.
“Waaaait, I didn’t get to ask what you are doing today” she said as they now stood in the hall out side their temple apartment. He nodded and sighed.
“Yes that is important...” he said in a tone that made her look at him with worried eyes.
“What’s going on...” she whispered softly as she grabbed his hands.
“The boy we’ve saved, anakin... I believe our discovery of him has raised some attention... master yoda senses a disturbance coming... Obi-wan and I are the ones attending the matter” he informed her quietly so no others heard.
“Why didn’t you tell me I could help you-“ she started but he cut her off.
“You are not yet ready... please just go to the library... I’ll see you tonight for dinner” he smiled at her and kissed her head as she let out a heavy sigh. She knew not to argue with him on Jedi matters, yet she did it often. But something about the way he said it, she knew to leave it alone and go about her way.
(Y/n) was quiet as she made her way down to the library. Keeping her nose in her current books as she went, many people greeted her as she passed. Many whispered as she walked away. Always so quiet, so closed off. Except for the people she trusted, Obi-Wan, her father and now anakin. Even tho anakin was only a child, there was something about him she trusted, something familiar. She could never place it, but she didn’t care to much about it either.
“And what are you reading today?” Obi-wan hummed plucking the book from her hands as she came into the library. She looked up at him and reached for it quickly.
“Obi-wan!” She whined and tried to jump to grab it. He was so much taller then her , it was way to easy for him to hold things from her grasp.
“The fires of Dathomir?” He looked at her curiously. “Now why on earth would you be reading something like that?” He asked flipping three the pages, stopping on a academic drawing of the zabrak male. “And the only image is a naked man” he said handing it back to her.
“It’s to represent common tattoos of the Dathomorian people” she said in a matter-of-fact tone as she walked more into the library. Obi-wan on her heels as she went to put the book away. “Plus, I’m already finish with it, I was just reviewing it.” She said as she used the force to slip it back into its shelf.
“Did you pick that book because you were bored of because of Darth maul?” He asked leaning against the shelves as he looked down at her.
“Darth Maul?” She asked confused, her father knew her well enough to not mention the sith, she always had weird dreams about the sith. So anytime they had sith problems, unless it was necessary, he didn’t inform her.
“He didn’t tell you...” Obi-wan sighed “there was this Zabrak on Tatooine that attacked us, tried to get Padmé and take anakin... goes by Darth Maul” Obi-wan said softly.
“And no one told me till now?” She crossed her arms a little frustrated.
“I thought he would... it seemed necessary, I’m sorry sunflower I didn’t know” Obi-wan said trying to be calm about it, and calm her too.
“Tell me about him...” she said sitting down.
“About Darth Maul?” He asked as they sat down.
“No, about you” she said looking at him, a smirk grew in his face.
“Well-“
“Yes about Darth Maul” she cut him off before he could continue. Obi-wan shook his head and started talking about it and what happened on Tatooine. They sat there for awhile discussing the events before she realized.
“Aren’t you meant to be with my father?” She asked him as she grabbed a book about Zabraks.
“Well yes, but he had a meeting with the council I was told I wasn’t allowed to go to... so I figure I’d talk to you” Obi-wan said looking at the time.
“And how did you know where to find me?” She said flipping three pages.
“Where else would you be?” He answered before she stopped and glanced up at him.
“I go... other places” she started
“Like where?” He hummed lifting her chin.
“The... gardens” she said closing the book abruptly before someone came into the isle they were at.
“Obi-wan... master Qui-gon is looking for you” the younger twi’lek said with a kind smiled. “Good morning Miss Jinn” she hummed to (y/n) before walking away. (Y/n) looked up at Obi-wan and smiled.
“Good luck” she said letting him go before she went into her research.
It seemed like only minutes had passed as she read her books, but as she looked up the light peeking threw the large windows had become a burnt orange. The sun was setting fast over Coruscant, Barely giving her enough time to put her things into her bag before leaving. It wasn’t uncommon for her to forget time while reading. Some days she’s been in there till late at night.
As she made her way threw the temple she started to feel this strange ache in her head. Unlike anything she’d felt before. Longing, that’s what it felt like. Like being lost in a crowd of people, only searching for one person that you just can’t find. And that’s what she was doing, before even noticing it she was running threw the temple to find the source of this feeling.
She started to become warm, the feeling in her chest, her stomach. The anxiety, the force guiding her, she didn’t know what was happing next she just knew she needed to get to it. Wherever it was. Her feet guided her, her brain on hyperdrive before she found herself in the shipping bay. Frozen as she finally found the source of this emotion, her father. Fighting against a sith she had never known. The description only matching that to Darth Maul.
She couldn’t get passed the red chambers fast enough, she couldn’t reach him in time. The piercing heat of the saber went threw her father with in second before the zabrak noticed her. The sob escaping her throat alerting him of her presents as he pulled away from the Jedi master. The red barriers fell and she was quickly at Qui-Gon’s side.
In this moment she didn’t care about the sith, she only wanted to hold her father. “No- no - dad” she whimpered picking up his head and setting it on her lap. “Please look at me” she whimpered as his eyes opened weakly and face turned to a grin.
“I knew you’d find me...” he whispered. “I... I needed to see you.. one last time” she whispered reaching his hand uo to her face. She let out a sob as she leaned into his touch
“It was you- you brought me here...” she whispered as he nodded.
“I needed you to see this... I needed you to be here” he whispered as his touch began to tremble.
“Why...” she grabbed his hand
“Because I love you... I need you to know that...you’re- you’re my daughter and I love you” he whispered as he closed his eyes.
The barriers flashed again as Obi-wan entered the room. Maul was quick to grab (y/n) uo from the floor and hold his scorching blade to her neck.
“Him or her” he growled in such a deep tone it vibrated her back. She could feel his warm skin threw their robes.
“No- no” obi-wan grabbed his masters saber but she stopped him.
“No! Save him!” (Y/n) cried. “Please Obi-wan!” She looked at him as tears streamed down her face. Something about maul felt familiar, and she trusted that enough to put her life on it. “Take him to the infirmary! I’ll be okay! Please!” She cried looking at them. Maul’s grip on her hit tighter as she spoke. A deep chuckle came from his throat and right into her ear.
“So compliant... it’s like you want to be taken” he purred before looking at Obi-Wan “you heard her... take him” he growled again before Obi/ wan picked up his master and looked at (y/n)
“I’ll save you” he said reassuringly.
“Save him first!” She yelled at him before he ran off to help Qui-Gon.
That moment set the markings for the rest of her life with the amber eyes sith. Fear racked threw her body like it owned its every cell. But his warm comforted it like a warm blanket. It made her uneasy, her mind already in a panic as Maul drug her to his ship. She didn’t speak or sob, she just froze.
She didn’t say anything to him as he hauled her up to his ship. Setting her down on the passenger seat and strapping her into it.
“Don’t move” he said sternly as she looked up at him. The only response she could conjure up was a whimper. He just shook his head and started the ship quickly “you’re pathetic...” he mumbled before the ship roared to life and took off. All she could think about was that
She gave her life to a zabrak.

Star Wars Modern AU headcannons ft. Single Dad Anakin pt 2
I managed to get brain rot from my own au lmao
Anyways this focuses more on the adults bc I've been thinking
Asajj was on Beat Bobby Flay once
She lost but people are coming to her restaurant more because they think it was rigged
So btw thranto is canon in this universe because I said so tee hee
Anyways Eli eventually leaves his accountant job and starts a restaurant called Cantina Tex-Mex because this is Texas, Eli Vanto is not portrayed as white so I made him Chilean and Mexican. ALSO tex mex is very good if done right.
He has an unreasonable amount of teenagers there on Fridays
He gave them a discount bc Asajj told (read: threatened) him to
Anyways Thrawn also makes specifically 2 gallons of Puerto Rican Chocolate Caliente (hot chocolate) every friday because he wants to watch the world burn
Literally every teen and tween loves that hot chocolate but he just makes 2 gallons then watches the mad scramble
Asajj makes a diner food and Romanian food mix
It's really good for date nights and the Skywalkers (plus Rex, Ahsoka,Barriss, and Obi-wan) to eat at for family dinners if something special happens
It's cool as hell she makes like Sarmale burgers so she has the patty be 2 actual Sarmale. Which is minced pork, spices, onions, and rice rolled in sour cabbage leaves and served with her hashbrowns potatos.
She serves Pepsi because she is a sadist
Ahsoka is a comedian as I have said before
Her content is all written by herself no ghost writers
She has had 2 Netflix specials so far
One of her jokes is about how her and Thrawn became enemies
Dr. Barriss and Eli are good friends so haha rivalry but your spouse will smack your dumbass for it.
They don't hit their spouses btw they just roll their eyes and pack up their crochet stuff.
Barriss and Eli met in middle school when other kids were being assholes to Barriss. Anyways they were friends ever since.
Maul, Savage, and Mother Talzin come visit one day
It's hilarious
No one really likes Maul
People think Savage is v nice
Mother Talzin is this 6 foot lady she terrifies the town minus the Skywalker twins and Los tres caballeros (Ahsoka, Anakin, and Obi-wan)
Anakin is a force of nature
He's an idiot with a clone of him
No like Leia is literally very much like him
Luke looks like him but other than that he's just Padme
Leia has done several things her father did
Everyone found it hilarious
Till she tried to jump off the roof to fly when she was 10
Poor baby had a big scar
Luke is also a fucking idiot I'd like to remind you, he has a insufferable martyr complex
Seriously Ahsoka, Barriss, Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Luke were playing Bedwars once and Anakin and Luke kept throwing themselves onto the fray
Annoying as hell sometimes
Anakin literally just told Ahsoka that doing drugs was cringe once so she just didn't
Anakin did though Obi-wan lectured him on why drugs are bad and it went in one ear and out the other
And by drugs I mean weed
Because it's my fake USA so I will make it how I want it
Weed is legal now fuck you
Anakin just calls things cringe then leaves
Like he told Palpatine he was cringe once
I dont think Palpatine ever recovered
Also Palpatine is homophobic
Lol he lives in gay people texas
Shaak Ti my beloved
Aayla and Bly are the peak of cool aunt and uncle
They are the aunt and uncle who take you to rated r movies when your 13
Anyways that's it I just needed to get that out of my system

Dad!Rex x Jedi!Reader
w/ Padme, Anakin, Ahsoka, Obi wan and the Skywalker twins ;)) they’re all very much alive and happy.
After the war, with no order 66 because I said so. This is my first time ever writing children, a weird milestone i know, but I hope I did okay let me know! I was gonna give the 501st boys a mention or a scene, but it didn’t feel natural and I couldn’t squeeze it in - so if you want them there, they’re there <3
Also I decided on the name Mira as ‘mirjahaal’ translate to ‘peace of mind’ in Mando’a, and I just know that Rex would name his kid after something like that. (also i felt smart with the whole deeper meaner situation)
taglist -> @pinkiemme
———————————————————————
“Da!”
Rex swivelled his head to the table he had been called from. He still reacted to ‘Captain’ as a variation of his name, but for around three years now ‘Da’ had caught his attention far quicker.
“Yeah C’yare?”
Perched on the edge of the table was his four year old daughter, Mira, smiling smugly as she puffed out her chest and straightened her back just how she’d learnt from Cody. She beamed as her father walked over and pressed a small kiss to the top of her head.
In a short check formed out of habit, he recognised her now braided hair, which had been partitioned into two dainty lines down her blonde head. He had gotten better at doing hair for her sake, but not that good; Leia must’ve gotten ahold of her. Whereas Luke was becoming so much like his father, Leia already had the willpower and strength that mimicked her mother, though that was no bad thing.
Her dress, again courtesy of Padmé, was a beautiful blueish pink colour, and it matched in harmony with the rosemary hue of the sky that bled through the wide windows behind them. It was almost night, and somehow there was an undeniable peace in the air. Perhaps it was something about the time of day, or perhaps it was purely because nowadays there were hardly any reasons for it not to be peaceful.
“Tell Unca Ani I’m right!” Mira spoke with surprising indignation for someone so small. That had always made people laugh.
“I’m not wrong!” Anakin proclaimed, appearing to be hurt by the child’s comment, but failing to hide his grin.
He was rested against the kitchen counter, still slumped like he always did. He perked up slightly as the ‘argument’ began again.
Jaida was near enough to have heard most of their conversation from where she sat beside a dozing Ahsoka. She was mostly focused on the datapad in her hands: lists of still uncompensated troopers that still needed to be helped, but she was far more inclined to listen to the sounds behind her. She smiled distantly at how Anakin acted around her daughter. He softened, even as Mira babbled away.
As Rex and Mira sat and stood respectively, Anakin found it almost laughable how much they were alike. She looked so much like her mother, but her blonde hair and honey eyes were the exact copy of his, that was undeniable.
“Unca Ani say that on Flucca plants glow in tha dark!” Rex smiled sweetly at his daughter’s awe “But that’s imbossible!”
“It’s not!”
“Nope!” Mira popped the ‘p’ like Jaida always did. Anakin laughed at that. It was a solid argument.
“Well, then we’ll go to Felucia. You can see it all for yourself.”
It was a promise Rex was happy to make, especially as Mira lit up at his words.
“Gotta be careful though, sometimes they bite!” Jaida teased from behind the sofa back.
As Mira giggled, a knock sounded from the door to the apartment. Ahsoka stirred up in her light sleep, though Jaida hushed her and moved instead. She pushed off the couch beneath her, winking at the grinning toddler before she made it to the door.
As it opened, Padmé and the twins were revealed, both looking perky behind their tired faces. Luke looked half asleep in truth, but Leia was tugging the senator along with a fist she’d latched onto a few fingers. It had been a long day; no words were needed for Jaida to understand that.
“Hey! You all look so tired what happened?” Jaida laughed lightly as she welcomed them into the room.
“Yoda went bonkers.” There was a hint of remorse in Luke’s voice.
The Jedi chuckled, “What’s new?”
Padmé watched with kind eyes as her children weaved off, and laughed as Ahsoka only just managed to reposition her posture before she was attacked by them both. Luke and Leia were only a year and a bit older than Mira, but they matched each other in energy.
It took them no time at all to close the door and cross into the kitchen where Anakin, Rex and Mira were. Mira had resorted to asking about the different planets, to which Anakin found himself wishing to remember the answers. Rex couldn’t help himself from laughing at the exchange.
“Is the Senate in disagreement again?” Jaida asked as she grabbed a mug for Padmé’s tea, and judging by how she rubbed her temples she suspected she was right.
“Not entirely; it’s just this new vote. Some of the Senators are too focused on the expenses of it all, and I can’t blame them. It won’t be cheap, but it needs to be done.”
“This that liberation bill Cody was talking about?” Rex interjected.
“Yes, it should be simple enough. Only they’re just some people who I can’t seem to budge on it.” Padmé sighed, but didn’t hold that annoyance for much longer. “But anyway I didnt come here to discuss even more politics, how long until they start?”
The reason for their gathering. It wasn’t often that coruscant had fireworks, but when they did it was always something spectacular. The cause for this celebration was particularly important; the 5th anniversary of the end of the clone wars. The senate had decided without much debate to introduce the idea of fireworks, Anakin even joked that it was the quickest they’d ever decided something, yet it was still exciting nonetheless.
Ahsoka got up from where she had been talking to Luke and Leia and grabbed a fruit from the bowl. She laughed along with what conversation had been happened, and grinned at each joke and jibe.
“It’s a shame Obi-wan couldn’t make it back in time.” The togruta spoke after his mention.
“It won’t be the last time we have something like this, and plus, I think Mandalore have something planned as well!”
Ahsoka shrugged in agreement at Padmé, taking a bite at the same time.
“Oh, look!” She spoke between mouthfuls. They all followed the line of her outstretched hand, looking towards the window now beginning to light up in disarray.
“It’s starting!” Luke interjected. He pushed through to the front with Leia hot on his tail. And indeed it was, the beginnings of bright crackles started to compete with the stars behind them. The fireworks were just above the senate building, bemusing the gathering with small, golden splashes of light in intricate patterns. It wasn’t loud, the apartment being so far away, but the distant sound of bangs made Mira jump a few times.
Rex comforted her, taking her up in his arms. She relaxed as soon as she knew she was safe with him; he kept her safe. That was the promise he’d make a thousands times over and more if he could. Jaida met his eyes, and hugged his arm with her head rested on his shoulder. Everything was right; real. The war was over and they had won. The fireworks were a beautiful touch, but nothing could displace the satisfaction of watching your own life grow into something you never even imagined it could. Rex had endured enough, and now he could honestly say it was worth it. He kissed Jaida’s forehead as she melted into his side.
The smaller, yellowish bursts began to grow: feeding into the sky as pinks, oranges, blues and greens spiralled off from their sources. Each pop of colour that continued into circles or stars had it’s own mind, yet still unfolded as if it were puppetry. Some shot straight up and exploded after a minute of delightful teasing, and wove between themselves like missiles. They were the ones that made Luke squeal in excitement the most.
Others whirled in spirals, endlessly collecting momentum and continuing in their talented hast; or shattered into millions of personalised sparks you couldn’t choose which one to follow. They tumbled down in rains of coloured stars, settling as if the art they’d shared with an entire silent city was only fiction. Their message was received in awe, and Jaida held a teary gaze even as they faded. Luke and Leia clapped, Mira laughed, but the adults shared pregnant silence, a moment for what they had found for themselves. Children, family, peace. Love.
The war weighed heavily, it always would. But it was over, they had lived, and a new life had begun.

Star Wars Fun in the Sun Submission
This fic was written for @starwarsfandomfests “Summer Fun in the Sun” event. This event was really fun to participate in and I’m glad I joined in. I was given @anaisonfire to write for and chose to write some fluffy Jangobi for you with some bonding between Jango and the clones and Obi-Wan and young Boba. I hope you enjoy!
Find it on AO3 Here
.
.
The sound of the waves lapping at the sand of the beach and the feeling of warm sunlight against his bare skin had Obi-Wan almost dozing in his chair. It had been so long since he could just relax like this and soak in the beauty and sensations of a place instead of worrying about an attack but the war was finally over. A lucky break had come from Fox who had nearly faceplanted onto the council room floor in a combination of his haste to speak with them and complete exhaustion. He had overheard a conversation between Dooku and Palpatine revealing his plans and had recorded it on his helmet cam, giving the Jedi evidence against the now exposed Sith Lord. Dechipping started as soon as they located what it was Palpatine was talking about and within the month, the head had been cut off the snake. Without Palpatine’s funding, a lot of previously Separatist worlds returned to the Republic begging for another chance. Dooku was backed into a corner and he knew it, so he had willingly turned himself into the Jedi council, giving up information on Grievous that led to his capture and the droid army’s shutdown. Things still weren’t perfect. The flaws of the Republic were more obvious than ever. The corruption ran deeper than before. The Clones still didn’t have the rights they deserved.
“What has you frowning like that, cyare? We’re supposed to be on vacation.” Jango’s voice interrupted the downward turn his thoughts had taken and his lips turned up in a warm smile.
“Just thinking about the mess we are not supposed to be thinking about while here. The usual.” He said and Jango snorted when Obi-Wan looked over to soak in the sight of him. Despite seeing his face repeated a million times in the war, none looked quite as handsome as Jango’s own scarred appearance to him.
“That’s fair enough. I keep worrying about Boba.” Jango admitted looking out over where the 212th and 501st were all playing volleyball or splashing in the water or laying in chairs like Jango and Obi-Wan just soaking in the sun. Obi-Wan sighed. Boba was another issue they would have to figure out a solution to. Well, not Boba himself, but how to integrate him into the rest of the family.
“Where is he now?” Obi-Wan asked when he didn’t see the boy in question.
“Inside the hotel room moping. I left him some books to read that I thought he might like so hopefully he’s curled up with one of those at least. I wish I knew how to make it better. I suppose just time with the mind healers for all of us. Watching who he thought was me get their head cut off is not the sort of trauma that goes away in a few months.” Jango murmured rubbing his face and Obi-Wan reached out to squeeze his hand.
“I have to admit it was a big shock to all of us when Dooku revealed you were alive and that the person Mace killed had been one of the clones he had kept personally for purposes such as that. I’m just glad that you survived and that Boba had been able to be located and reunited with you.” He said seriously. Jango nodded.
“If Aurra weren’t already dead I’d kill her again for poisoning him to think I’d want him risking his life that way. I just want him happy and healthy.” He said, squeezing Obi-Wan’s hand back. The relationship that had somehow started between them, since Jango was recovered from where he had been imprisoned and had started helping fight for the clones and clean up the mess that he helped make, was the biggest surprise of all. Obi-Wan had always assumed that Jango was a cold heartless person to have made all the clones and treated them so indifferently, however he had realized that the opposite was in fact true. Jango cared greatly for the clones but he had been just as much a prisoner in Palpatine and Dooku’s schemes as they had and he had distanced himself to protect them from being targeted due to Dooku thinking he might use them against him. Finding out Jango had also been implanted with a rudimentary version of the chip also explained a few things and allowed him to be pardoned for the attempted hit on Padme. Of course, a lot of it was still on Jango’s shoulders and he was doing all he could to rectify his actions. Somehow in all the working together to help the clones, Obi-Wan and Jango had become close enough to the point that even Boba and Anakin had been calling them a couple behind their backs. Now they really were.
“Vacations don’t work well when we just lay around and let ourselves worry about things. How about we go join in on the death ball game the boys are playing instead?” He offered and Jango chuckled, kissing his cheek.
“That sounds like a great idea. Just don’t complain when my team crushes you.” He said getting up and waving over at Cody.
“Wait a minute! Cody is my commander! He’s going to be on my team!” Obi-Wan quickly hopped up to follow and get integrated into the teams. Obi-Wan ended up on Rex’s team while Jango had cockily gained Cody’s choice, Cody giving Obi-Wan a fake-apologetic smirk.
“You can’t even hold onto your lightsaber and you expect me to think you can keep a ball?” He teased with a lot of clones’ ‘ooo’s surrounding them.
“Oh it’s on now, my dear, you’ve made a grave mistake.” Obi-Wan had said, moving to huddle with his team. In the end, due to a non-Force use rule, the teams were evenly matched and the game never really got far in either team’s favor. They were all just having fun wrestling a ball from each other and trying to get it to the opposite team’s goal. Eventually, they all decided to split the difference and go change in Anakin’s room so he had to deal with all the sand instead of the losing team’s when they broke for lunch.
Jango managed to convince Boba to come out and join them for the meal and Obi-Wan smiled as the boy enthusiastically told his father about something he had been reading about snails. Seeing the difference in the way he acted when he had thought he lost his father compared to now was a shock. With Jango’s love and support, it was like looking at two different people. Although, the older bitter Boba was still in there and came out around the clones as shown when Cody sat beside Obi-Wan and started to chat causing Boba to quiet and withdraw.
“Can I go to the tide pools and look for the snails once we’re finished here, buir?” Boba asked and Jango nodded.
“Of course. Just be careful.” He agreed and Obi-Wan perked up at the perfect opportunity to try to bond a little with the boy.
“If you don’t mind, I’d love to come with you Boba. There are lots of little creatures there I’d like to see. Plus those bioluminescent snails sound really fascinating.” He said making sure to show he was listening to what Boba was saying by repeating some back.
“I guess it wouldn’t be bad to have you along. You can probably use your Force thingy to find them more easily.” Boba agreed after a moment of thought and Obi didn’t bother correcting him that the Force didn’t work that way. They quickly finished up the last of their meal and Boba led Obi-Wan towards the rocky area where the tide pools resided. Jango had declined in joining them with a knowing look at his Jedi and made an excuse of needing to call and check in on some work.
“Do you like ocean animals a lot, Boba?” He asked, trying to start a conversation to which the boy shrugged.
“I like all animals. There are so many planets with so many different ways for them to evolve and so many little differences even in species that are mostly the same. It’s cool to see what new things I can find out on each planet my buir and I visit. He used to make it a game we’d play together.” He admitted kicking a rock to splash into one of the little pools of water.
“Jango loves you a lot. You know that him helping the other clones doesn’t change his feelings about you, right?” Obi-Wan asked him and Boba grunted.
“I didn’t invite you to have you try to pick around in my brain. Now get to using your Jetii magics to find me some glowing snails or go back to making dopey looks at my dad and let me do my thing.” He grumbled and Obi-Wan rolled his eyes but did his best to feel around them to try to see if he could connect to any of the animals and figure out where the snails could be if they were even there at all.
While sensing the creature’s minds he felt them all diving deeper from what he figured was fear of the two humans encroaching on their homes however suddenly there was a faint rumbling and he gasped when Boba went barreling right into his stomach knocking him back into one of the ponds just in time to keep him from falling into a hole that opened up under where his feet had been.
Boba groaned as they both picked themselves up, equally soaked. “Dang it. Buir specifically told me not to fall in, now he’s going to laugh at me,” he whined.
“Thank you. I’m not even sure what just happened.” Obi-Wan confessed glad he had been in beachwear already, unlike Boba who was trying to wring out his t-shirt without removing it now.
“The rocks here aren’t round and solid like on most beaches. They’re flat and shift around with the tides as well like plates. It was in the book. The change in temperature at different points in the day causes the water currents to shift and then they move. I saw the fish diving and the rock around it start to move. I might not fully like you but my dad does, so letting you get trapped in a hole and drown seemed like the wrong move.” Boba said, stuffing his hands in the pockets of his shorts awkwardly.
“Well, I appreciate it nonetheless. It seems your extra reading saved my life.” He said with a chuckle, stroking his beard out of habit. “It would have been a shame to live through a whole war only to die to a little water and rock.” He said and Boba snorted but relaxed.
“The great Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi done-in by a change in tide while on vacation does sound like a great holonet headline.” He teased and they both continued their search for sea snails a little more carefully, eventually catching a few in a bucket to bring back and show Jango and the clones. Things weren’t perfect, but as Obi-Wan curled close to Jango’s warm chest that night, he found he was okay with that.

I know that considering (TCW-2008) refs/characters in this episode that it won’t be your fav but can you please share your child development thoughts for S02E05 please??
They may have been stuff I wasn’t fond of but there were so many cute Baby & Dad moments to make up for it!!
First of all, the puppeteers deserves ALL THE AWARDS for bringing Baby Yoda to life!  Not just making Baby “come alive” in general, but also that sort-of-awkward way children move when they don’t have complete confidence in their limbs yet.  The are doing a phenomenal job this season and I hope they are all safe and healthy and have all the chocolate they want.  Not only is it fantastic from a special effects perspective, it really highlights how far Baby has come now that he’s not stuck in a pod all day and implies that Din is trying to keep him active and physically healthy, and giving him opportunities to develop his muscles and muscle control.  (Just imagine them playing a makeshift game of chase through the Razor Crest!)
I absolutely loved Din saying “Hey, what did I tell you” because I have said those exact words in that exact tone SO MANY TIMES and also his Dad Voice is getting so much better!  Baby actually listens to him and understands that Din expects him to listen!  Of course he still wants the ball (and apparently takes it enough that Din has been practicing his Dad voice on that too, “What did I say about that” is another phrase I also use at work).
Though there may have been another reason he wants the ball this time - as a comfort item, like a child bringing their favorite stuffie to the first day of school.  Baby was there when the Armorer told Din to find Jedi to bring the Baby to.  He has been listening a lot when Din talks about finding Jedi to train him and give him to.  I think Baby is very, very aware of the fact that the end goal is to leave him with the Jedi and is very afraid of leaving his beloved father.  He would’ve had stable caretaker(s) at the Jedi Temple but in the last twenty years who knows what’s happened to him.  His subdued, don’t-draw-attention-to-myself behavior in Season 1 definitely makes me think he’s been neglected, bare minimum, and possibly abused.  Din not only treats him kindly but actually takes care of his needs, is kind to him, and is the most stable presence in his life.  Of course he’d be terrified to leave him!
I think that’s also why he doesn’t play ball with Ahsoka, so to speak.  We all know he can lift a mudhorn, a rock is no problem for him.  He could do it in a heartbeat.  But I think he understood that if he showed off for her, Ahsoka might take him away.  So he refused for that, and because it’s very common at that age to refuse to do something to regain control of a situation.  (That’s why you get kids enjoying telling you “No!” and the whole terrible twos thing.)  If he refuses, he stays in control of what’s happening.  But of course Din knows exactly how to tempt him with his favorite ball, and kids do want to please adults they like.  Anything to hear that sweet, sweet positive reinforcement.  So it wasn’t just the shiny ball that convinced Baby - it was the fact that Din was the one playing with him, and that Din so enthusiastically tells him good job.  (And Din is noticeably more into it when using the orb.  Maybe he and Baby have played with it before?  So it’s more natural to both of them.  And he was truly so proud of his boy!!  It was adorable.)
It’s the same with hearing his real name, which he presumably hasn’t heard in twenty years.  He responds when Ahsoka says it, but when Din says it?  He’s instantly turned around, ears perked all the way up in “happy” mode.  It’s special when Din says it, because Din is special to him.
Which then ties into the whole attachment thing.  Baby is very healthily attached to Din.  There’s a reason we stick kids with the same teacher for a year plus at a time, it’s because kids are comfortable with a regular person they can get to know, just like adults are.  To Baby, Ahsoka is just some orange stranger and Din is his dad.  Of course he is more attached to Din and has fears over losing him, especially if he’s been deprived of that for the last 20-odd years!  It’d be different if Din was sticking around to transition Baby somewhere new, or just dropping him off for lessons.  But leaving a parent permanently and abruptly after likely previous trauma?  That would be horrible for Baby.
And re: The Jedi + attachments Ahsoka (and Filoni) are wrong on that.  The Jedi do not forbid attachments, only letting your attachments rule you.  Ki-Adi-Mundi is married and so were others, and there are plenty of Padawan-Master relationships to see - for example, Obi-Wan was attached to Qui-Gon and clearly loved him and was devastated by his loss, but it’s only when he conquers his emotions and calms himself is he able to defeat Maul, and afterward is implied/shown to mourn Qui-Gon and handle his grief in a healthy way.  Anakin doesn’t fall because he’s attached to his loved ones.  He falls because he’s willing to commit murder and genocide over his attachments.  So “I can’t teach Grogu because he’s attached to you” is bullshit.  “I can’t teach Grogu because he is attached to you and needs to be safely transitioned into Jedi life in an environment that is comfortable and safe for him, with your help as his adoptive father, and I have no way to do that here and/or don’t feel comfortable doing that” is much more accurate.  (This is probably what would’ve happened if the Order was still around, anyway, and/or how he was actually taken in - the 3D TCW episode with the Jedi children shows the bounty hunters tricking the parents to kidnap the kids, implying that a real Jedi would work with the family to transition the children in a safe and healthy manner.  The Rodian even says the Jedi have already spoken to her iirc.)
Of course even if Grogu is unhealthily attached to Din (which he isn’t, imo, he behaves like a child at a normal level of attachment to a regular caretaker he loves) then ignoring it and not doing anything about it is equally bad.... as we’ve already seen when he got upset with Cara last season.  Baby must learn to control his powers so he doesn’t hurt himself or others, especially since he’s so young he doesn’t always have full control over his own emotions.  “Big” emotions can be a lot for a kid; a screaming meltdown is bad enough when the kid can’t yeet you with their mind.  I’ve been hit, kicked, bitten, scratched, had toys thrown at me, even been hit with heavy wooden blocks.  A Grogu out of control with his emotions and using the Force?  Terrifying.  Yes, his attachment to Din makes him more vulnerable to his fears and anger - we’ve seen him choke Cara and while he only held back the mudhorn, in theory he could’ve done more.  But that is just all the more reason to teach him control.  Ignore harmful behavior and it will only get worse, and Din isn’t really equipped to help him navigate that since Din doesn’t understand the Force and can’t understand what Grogu says.
(Also lol at “He doesn’t understand” “He does.”  You can 100% tell when kids understand you perfectly and are refusing to do it, even when a parent is making excuses for their darling. xD  Especially since kids will frequently act/react differently to their parents versus other caretakers.)
“He’s hidden his abilities to survive over the years” I call partial bullshit on that.  No, I don’t think Baby has done any long-term planning or had thoughts along the lines of “I’m being hunted and need to protect myself by pretending not to be a Force-user.”  But I think he has probably figured out people react a certain way when he does Force things and perhaps decided “I shouldn’t make things float because then people will grab me/I will get taken away/other consequence I don’t like will happen.”  That’s more in line with a toddler’s level of thinking/comprehension.  And it adds greater weight to him saving Din from the mudhorn - he didn’t know how Din would react to him using the Force, if Din would try and hurt him or lock him in the pod or whatever, but he still wanted to save Din.  Overall though I think Baby’s Force-use is in line with a toddler’s thoughts.  “I want X to happen, I can make that happen with the Force, so I will make X happen unless I’m more scared of [consequence] happening.”
So overall a pretty revealing episode for Baby/Grogu.  (I’m not used to the new name yet tbh.)  Although I’m worried about how many times it will take Din hearing it to realize that yes, you are this baby’s father, get that through your beskar-plated skull.

ohh i saw your answer about the sequels of star wars. id love to read you tear through the whole trilogy
Well, I’ve avoided this ask long enough. Part of the reason is this is really a huge topic, far too much for one ask, so I’m going to have to do this at a very high level.
In short, the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy is what one gets when you slap together the goal of selling merchandise and making tons of money, being as risk averse as humanly possible, adding a handful of warring directors with incredibly different visions, and having virtually no imagination when it comes to the imagining and writing of characters.
And we get this beautiful, awful, franchise that for reasons beyond me people seem to actually like (though interestingly, no one seems to like all of it, they may actually like one or two of the films, but no one says all three are actually in any realm of good).
With that, let’s begin.
The Force Awakens
For me this is easily the most tolerable of the sequel trilogy: it’s not great, it’s not terrible. It’s thoroughly watchable, you can be taken along for the movie’s journey and not raise your eyebrows too much at the action and leave the theater feeling this maybe wasn’t a complete waste of your time.
There’s a good reason for that. That reason is called the most blatant form of plagiarism I have ever seen in cinema in my life.
“The Force Awakens” is just “A New Hope” wearing a mustache. Only, it’s one of those cheap mustaches you get from a party store that, if you stare at it too long, just looks like the most false and awful thing you’ve ever seen. The mustache actively makes it worse. “The Force Awakens” is “A New Hope”, but worse.
Seriously, every major character, every major plot point, every major scene I can go directly back to “A New Hope”.
Our story begins when the Resistance, at great cost to our valiant heroes including torture at the hands of the Emperor’s second in command, sends a file out into the wilderness to be received by his people. This file contains plans for the Death Star.
The film then focuses on Luke, er Rey, getting involved in the Resistance, boarding the Death Star, and successfully destroying at the same time even at the lost of a beloved mentor that she just met (trading in Obi-Wan for Han Solo).
Our evil empire is run by an evil emperor who is so evil he sits in a chair, is served by very Moth Tarkin-esque human storm troopers, and has a second in command who revels in the Darth Vader get up (for no other reason that it makes him feel cool but we’ll get into this).
It’s “A New Hope”. Rey is Luke, Han Solo is Obi-Wan, Poe is a kind of Han Solo, Kylo Ren is Vader, Snoke is Palpatine, Hux is Tarkin, BB-8 is R2-D2, etc.
“But that’s not terrible,” you say, “I liked A New Hope?”
First, it is terrible, it gives a very bad sign of where the sequel trilogy is headed and is just lazy writing. It means that those who produced this franchise were so terrified of taking risks, of possibly ending up mocked as the prequels were, that they will deliver exactly what the original trilogy was. And what’s that? Uh, evil empires, scrappy desert kids, AND MORE DEATH STARS!
That brings us to point number two, the world of Star Wars after the events of the original trilogy shouldn’t support such things. And, if it does, my god what a bleak existence this place has turned into.
The First Order being able to rise easily from the Empire’s remains means that Luke accomplished nothing. Anakin sacrificed himself and had his moment of redemption for nothing. There was no happy ending to the Original Trilogy, our heroes failed miserably, and there is no indication that our new band of heroes can possibly succeed in their place. (More on this as the movies progress).
We now are in a galaxy where this new Republic is so pathetic that Leia doesn’t even give it the time of day and builds her own private army to battle the Empire. The First Order is able to not only rebuild a massive army by raiding villages on many different worlds and stealing children and do so successfully for at least ten years but is able to build a Death Star bigger than any we’ve ever seen before.
And the movie tries to convince us these are completely new problems, that Luke Skywalker is a hero (remember this is TFA, not TLJ yet), and that somehow these things just sprung up out of nowhere. BUT YEAH, RESISTANCE, WOO!
As for Rey, she’s like... a worse version of Luke. Her only motivation through the entire series is her trauma at being abandoned by her parents. That’s it, there’s nothing else to her, nothing else she ever wants or feels conflicted by. She struggles with the dark side because... the dark side? Genetics? Unclear? She’s absurdly, ridiculously, powerful in a way that’s acknowledged but never that acknowledged (we’ll get into this) and the movies just fail to sell me on her in any way.
Honestly, an easy fix for me would have just been making Rey a much younger character. I could believe a fourteen-year-old having stayed in the desert, scrounging for scraps, believing her parents are coming back every day now. As a twenty-something year old... It starts getting hard to believe she never left. (Also, this gets the benefit of getting rid of Reylo, which is always a plus for me).
As for Kylo Ren, I legitimately walked out of TFA thinking he was supposed to be comic relief. He’s what happens when someone desperately wants a likable, redeemable, villain and we get... Well, as a reminder his opening scene is one of genocide: he pillages and destroys a town with no regret and brutally tortures a man for information. We’re told he’s like this “because evil evil Snoke” and that may well be but throughout the film (and the series) it becomes clear that Kylo Ren’s main motivation is he deseprately wants to be cool. He wants to be a badass like Vader, he dresses in Vader cosplay (either ignoring or not knowing that Vader only dressed like that because his body was completely destroyed), he has these huge temper tantrums and nobody respects him because he’s a toddler in a Vader suit.
He murders his own father, his parents who (at least in the films themselves) show every willingness to take him back and forgive him what he’s done, so that he can fully embrace his own “evilness”. In other words, he commits patricide to feel cool about himself, then it doesn’t work.
And the movie series really banks on me feeling conflicted about Kylo Ren or at least wanting him to be redeemed. Granted, the wider internet seems to love him, I just can’t.
Oh, before I forget, the other thing I love about Kylo Ren is that the movies insist he’s a) strong in the Force b) is equal to Rey. Rey consistently beats the shit out of him with 0 training. Kylo Ren has been training in the Force for years. Guys, they are not a Dyad, Rey is far far far stronger than he is and for whatever reason the films never want to admit it. Because I guess we like things coming in pairs now.
But yes, “The Force Awakens”, at a distance not great nor terrible, but a rip off of a movie we’ve already seen that left me going “Welp, the next one’s probably The Empire Strikes Back then I guess we’re getting Ewoks”. I was sort of right on that and sort of wrong.
The Last Jedi
So, JJ Abrams clearly had a vision of where he wanted this sequel trilogy to go. He set up these big questions such as what’s up with Finn, who are Rey’s parents and why was she left on this nowhere planet, will Kylo Ren be redeemed and how, who is Snoke, etc.
Now, I’m not saying these aren’t stupid questions. To be frank, they kind of are. Finn being Force Sensitive was the most inconsequential thing I’ve ever heard of, Rey’s parents should not have been used to drive the plot the way it was, as spoken above I’m clearly team gut Kylo Ren, and that Snoke was actually just Palpatine being the world’s largest cockroach is a beautiful but hilarious answer.
That said, what Johnson did was he decided, “You know what, I’m going to take every trope of Star Wars and completely flip it on its head and absolutely doom the sequel to this movie.”
And by god, he did.
We get a weirdly pointless movie in which Poe, SINGLEHANDEDLY, completely obliterates the Resistance. He first obliterates their bombers by failing to follow command, then goes and bitches about how he’s not put in command when he clearly shows no ability to understand how a military works, actively subverts orders which in turn obliterates the entire Resistance fleet until the only survivors can fit on the Millenium Falcon. They have no ships, no weapons, barely any people, and are ultimately doomed doomed doomed.
We have Finn’s weird subplot with a suddenly introduced character Rose in which the pair aid in Poe’s blowing up the resistance (they send sensitive information using the communication equipment of a guy they do not know, who fully admits to being shady and out for his own skin, and are flabergasted when he betrays them).
Rose herself is this weirdly sweet person who seems forced into the plot to a) provide a love triangle for Finn and Rey b) provide this forced sunny outlook that I didn’t really need in the film.
We get Rey never really being trained, going into the Cave of Wonders for a few seconds, falling in love with Kylo Ren over weird Force Skype calls (where I did not need to see him shirtless, thank you film) and being horrifically betrayed when Kylo Ren turns out not to be a great guy. Never saw that coming, Rey.
As for Kylo Ren, well... God, we get Emperor Kylo Ren. Kylo Ren, the Emperor. I’m not even that upset about the anticlimactic murder of Snoke (that was kind of funny, especially in the context of Palpatine going, “Bitch, please, you’re in my chair” immediately in the next film) but just Kylo Ren being emperor. And also that the Resistance only escapes at all because he’s so dumb he made their dumb plans seem smart (i.e. concentrates all his firepower on an illusion for ten minutes while Hux goes, “Emperor, sir, we could actually destroy the Resistance right now.”
Now, you’ll notice I didn’t complain about Luke. A lot of people are upset he became a grumpy, miserable, old hermit who sits around waiting for death. Frankly though, in this universe, that’s exactly where he is. He left “Return of the Jedi” thinking he’d saved the world, he’s resurrected the Jedi Order, and all is well. Only a decade later, his students are all murdered by his nephew, the Empire’s back, and he accomplished nothing. He’s an utter failure as a Jedi (though Luke never realizes he knew jack shit about the Jedi Order and was in way over his head but I guess that’s beyond him). Why shouldn’t he go sit on a rock and wait to die?
Now, did he have to drink that blue dinosaur milk? Well, I guess it was funny, gross but funny so... Sure, I guess he did. But I do like that he gave Rey 0 training, they had one meditation session and then he whined about how Obi-Wan was such a stupid asshole. And then Rey ran off to be with her boyfriend, who then told her that her parents were gutter trash (which again, was funny, but I don’t think that was supposed to be funny).
Of the characters introduced in the movie, the only one I really liked was the hacker, and it was for the actor/the beautiful way in which he gracefully exited stage left with zero shame going, “You all knew I was going to betray you!” You beautiful man, you.
Rise of the Skywalker
First, when something is called “Rise of the Skywalker” you know you’re in for a rough time.
But anyways, TLJ was filled with a controversy Disney didn’t want (half their audience hated it, half loved it, but at least they sold those penguin dolls) so they desperately get Abrams back. Only, what he clearly wanted from his series has been shot to hell, and now he’s left with Emperor Kylo Ren, a completely obliterated Resistance, a dead Luke, a love interest he never planned to introduce for Finn, Rey’s parental crisis being solved with trash people, Snoke just suddenly dead, Hux planning revenge, and then some.
And so, Abrams goes the brave and hilarious route of shouting “PRETEND THAT LAST MOVIE NEVER HAPPENED”
We open to a fully functioning Resistance (their bomber fleet is back, their fleet period is back, they have all their fully trained personnel). We have Rey getting the Jedi training she needed this time from Leia, who is now a Jedi, because yay feminism rammed down my throat to make the audience feel better. Rose says “It’s cool guys, I don’t want to join the adventure this film, I’m going to stay here and work on robots” so that she can gracefully exit the entire plot. Kylo Ren is demoted from Emperor in two seconds when we discover that a) Snoke was apparently Palpatine b) for unexplained reasons Palpatine’s alive (and I am now convinced that man will never die). Kylo Ren tells Rey at the first opportunity that he lied about her trash parents AND REALLY SHE’S A PALPATINE! THIS WHOLE TIME, REY! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. I’M SUPER SERIAL THIS TIME, REY.
Basically, in the course of an overly long movie, Abrams desperately shoves in everything he was trying to get out of the series, while sobbing, and sobbing even harder when things like Finn being Force Sensitive or Lando having a secret daughter get caught. I actually agree with the Producers on this, by the way, the Finn trying to tell Rey something scenes were weird and indicative of a love triangle but him being Force Sensitive instead... It says a lot that the movies did not change when it was removed, at all. And Lando was just this strange cameo who was in the film to make us feel nostalgic.
And this isn’t even getting to the ridiculous 24 hour time limit (which made me think there should have been some video game style clock in the corner letting us know when Dawn of the Third Day is coming), Palpatine’s other secret army on a secret Sith planet that can be easily taken down by taking out one navigation tower, Rey’s hilarious struggle with the dark side in which she has a vision of herself in a cape hissing, Kylo Ren’s hilarious redemption in which the movie in the form of Leia and Han Solo says, “Alright, Ben, it’s time to stop being evil” and he says “okay”, the fight with Palpatine in which I’m supposed to believe he dies for reals because... I have no idea why I’m supposed to believe he’s dead. The Reylo, god the Reylo, and Kylo Ren’s tragic, hilarious, death.
And then, of course, the ending where Rey decides she’s a Skywalker now.
I actually did laugh all the way through “Rise of the Skywalker”, you can’t not, I mean it’s a hilariously awful movie. The only thing that might have made it more hilarious was if we actually did get those Ewoks.
TL;DR
They’re all bad movies, if you want more specifics than this, you’re just going to have to ask me questions.

awake, awake, you children bold / take hold of all your books and fold / the corners, they warned us / a storm is coming on
this is an AMAZING start to this song given the context of post-rots. it really gives me the feeling of yeah waking everyone up and frantically whispering get up, get up, grab your stuff we have to go which just gahhhh yes reminds me a lot of obi-wan and ahsoka having to leave behind everything in the wake of anakin's "storm coming on." and, of course, "children bold" is very ahsoka and obi-wan would tell her to take her books that's so :'))
what do you mean you've lost your scarlet welly boots? / do y'know what they cost? / wear a raincoat or it'll soak you to the bone
okay again, I can see this scene so clearly in my head, they're rushing around searching for all their stuff and ahsoka's like "obi-wan I can't find my boots" and it's all very much parent scolding child in a hurry/panic but then still turning around and saying "make sure you wear a raincoat, here take mine" and again that is very much obi-wan and ahsoka to me!!
and I love you, don't you know / that I'll be with you all along, as long as you are kind / to those who are not strong and cannot find their scarlet welly boots
I feel like this really captures an essential of obi-wan's teachings to ahsoka: be kind, help everyone you can, remember when you were in that situation, "teaching is a privilege, it's part of a Jedi's responsibility to help train the next generation," etc etc and also just the "I love you, don't you know / that I'll be with you all along" godddd thinking about that with obi and soka is mAKING ME SOB
cause when it's cold / I'll wrap my scarf around you / and when it's hard / I'll place your head into my hands
yes. yes yes yes yes this!!! this right here is obi-wan and ahsoka!!!! I'm sobbing
and when you scream that it's not fair / it's like I've gone off to the coast / left you behind just standing there / pretending not to see your ghost / if only you could hear my voice / but you are screaming far too loud to hear me swear / just because I left doesn't mean I'm not still there
goddddd okay yes, I think this can be seen through a few different contexts, definitely post-rots and also deception (oUCH OUCH OUCH) like you said, and also I think this works for post-s5. just all the times where obi-wan and ahsoka were separated and this is just. ouch ouch ouch. but yeah this part with deception??? such a good angle, ahsoka screaming it's not fair, but obi-wan saying I'm still here. ugh. pain
I get to watch you grow up now / and make me proud / make all of the mistakes that make me laugh / oh, darling, lord, how you make me laugh / . . . / cause you were always strong / when you were young, you'd kick things just to see if they would fall
I'm sobbing. liss, I'm sobbing. this! this is so obi-wan looking at ahsoka when she was a padawan. I think she really really brought a source of light and hope to both his and anakin's lives during the war and their characters are just so good together bc she's a lot like anakin ("you'd kick things just to see if they would fall"), but not nearly as weighed down as either of them (at least not until the end), and like. they are just :'))))) they! are! father! and! daughter!!!!
they said "that girl, she's wrong" / but I'll stick up for you / even though you haven't got a clue
the wrong jedi. that's all I'm gonna say. just. the wrong jedi
actually, that's not all I'm gonna say KJASJKDLADKLJS bc I have a lot of conflicting feelings and thoughts about obi-wan's involvement in the wrong jedi arc and since we got basically nothing in the actual show (because d*sney is a bunch of cowards) it all sort of has to be conjecture. but anyway, I think that obi-wan did stick up for ahsoka as much as he could and I really want to believe that he was right beside anakin defending her and like really trying to prove her innocence, but what we're shown in the show is. not that and I've seen a lot of really like solid and well-informed posts about how a big part of obi-wan's characterization is that he is someone who lets go and I can't find the one I'm thinking of rn but also like. idk it is shown how conflicted he is during that arc. plus, how much could they have even taken obi-wan's opinion into account bc it's nearly impossible for him to be unbiased?? like he's her grandmaster!! idk and that is NOT what this post is about ajskdkljdsa, but basically. yes. yes this is obi-wan in the wrong jedi.
and I'm so proud of you
screaming, crying, throwing up. GOD I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
and when you scream "I'm not alright" / and throw my picture at the wall / "you were supposed to be my light / and keep me safe against them all / how could you leave me here?" you'll scream / . . . / you'll say "I've been so scared / you left me here behind / do you not care? / how the fuck am I supposed to carry on without you here?"
this! this is so so so much deception, post-s5, post-rots, all of this!!!! this is ahsoka confused and angry and hurt and betrayed and homesick and I'm going to SOB. I don't have much more to say about this line, just. yes. yes yes yes this
you'll miss me, oh jesus christ, you'll miss me / just as much as all those years ago, and you'll look up at the storm
okay yes this is definitely reminding me of post-rots ahsoka looking back on deception and post-rots obi-wan looking back on the wrong jedi both of them missing the other, both of them knowing what it feels like to lose each other and be separated and just having that happen again and again :(((
just when you're about to give up every hope you have, you turn around / perched by the stairs, someone's gone and left behind / a brand new pair of scarlet welly boots
this hits me SO HARD. it is so so indicative of obi-wan and ahsoka still being around post-rots even though they both think the other is gone (which is just. so heartbreaking I can't) but they both still have their memories of each other and what they've taught each other and I think that they really do live on in each other's lives after revenge of the sith and they both have the task of keeping anakin's memory alive and ensuring safety and happiness for other people and while their lives and missions are very different, they both are still trying to do the same thing and they still have that connection and I just. I sob.
I love them so much and this song is perfect for them thank you for introducing me to it!!!!!! I will never be over this song with them gOD

A regretful Wolf and his Beauty
Chapter Ten
Beast!Rex x Fem!reader
Summary: As punishment for his actions, young prince Rex was cursed to become a monster by a witch. The only thing that saved him from his fate was an enchantress, who gave him a condition. He has to find true love in order to redeem himself and he only has until the last petal of the enchanted rose falls. Rex's family helps you by guiding your way into his heart. Rex's fate now lies in your hands.
A/N: This is a collaborative fic with @ahsokatano-thetogruta.
Warnings: Sickness, weakness, mention of injury.
Rex leans against the counter, thinking about what he did. He feels so bad, he knows what he did was so wrong, he was just so desperate that he didn’t think about the consequence of what he said to you. “Hey?” Rex looks down to see Cody nudge his leg, he sighs.
“I was such an idiot to say that to her Cody, I… I didn’t even think about her taking it seriously, I really am a monster.” Cody’s heart breaks and he sighs. “You are not a monster Rex, you made a mistake, we all do. She's okay, we figured it out soon enough. She’s eating right now.” Rex nods, feeling better to know that you’re eating.
“Rex!!!” Rex and Cody turn to see Fives and Echo run in, they look worried. “What’s wrong!! Did she do something to you!!!” Rex asks in fear, but the two shake their heads.
“We went into her room when she didn't collect her food. She's asleep right now and she doesn't look well at all.” Fives explains, making the guilt stab right through Rex's heart. “We think she's feeling a little sick from not eating for the past few days.” Echo adds.
At that moment, Kix and Jesse had flown in “Is everything alright?” Jesse asks them, seeing how guilty Rex looks. “Well, we found out earlier that the girl hasn't eaten anything since she arrived. Now she isn't feeling too well. Fives and Echo have just told us.”
Kix's eyes widen. “What?! Where is she now?” He turns to the twins. “She's in her room right now, sleeping. She looks pale too.” Fives explains.
Kix thinks that finding out how you haven't had food yet isn't important, all that matters is making sure you are okay and not too poorly. “Right, could you take me to her room, please? I need to make sure that her health hasn't faltered too much.” The twins nod as they lead the way out of the kitchen.
Cody decides to follow them, but before he leaves the kitchen, he realizes that Rex isn't following them. “Rex'ika, are you coming with us?” Rex just shakes his head as his ears press back against his head, whining a little. “She won't want a monster like me to be around her…”
“It's okay. It's not all your fault that this happened, we should have checked on her too, but after what happened to Echo we were scared.” Cody shuffles closer to Rex. “But it can be different now, we can help her.” Rex looks at his older brother, knowing that what he's saying is right and then nods his head.
“Okay, I'll go with you.” Rex follows Cody to the others who are on the way to your room. Rex and everyone walks into your room to see you laying in your bed, your armor is on and you’re curled up in a fetal position. Rex feels worry filling him at the sight of you.
“Is she okay, Kix?” Rex turns to see Jesse climbing up on Cody, his face that Kix drew on him has an expression of worry. None of them know how Jesse can animate his face so that it makes any expression and his mouth can move when he talks, but it does.
Kix flies up to you, looking you over, you are really pale and none of them know how you can sleep in your armor. You let out a tiny, raspy cough, Rex hears how sickly it sounds. “ I don’t think that this is because of her not eating, at least, not fully.” Rex doesn’t like the sound of that, at least before they knew how to fix it.
“So what should we do, Kix?” Cody asks, he’s really worried about you. Kix sighed, turning to Rex. ”I need you to come feel her forehead, Rex.”
Rex’s ears press against the back. “I don’t think that she would want me to touch her.” Rex tells him, but Kix just huffs. “Tough, none of us can feel the temperature right, I need to know if she has a fever. And my thermometer is downstairs and it will waste time to get it!” Rex sighs, but he listens to Kix and walks over to you.
Rex presses his hand softly against your forehead. He can feel the sweat wet his fur but what’s worse is the heat radiating off of you. “She’s burning hot Kix, she definitely has a fever.”
Kix hums, he knows what’s wrong with you now. “I’m almost positive that she has the flu, she was looking for her father in the cold, and probably rain, I’ll have to ask her how long when she wakes up, the dungeon probably didn’t help either, plus not eating. Can anyone explain why she wasn’t eating?” Rex rubs the back of his neck.
“I… When she first got here, I told her that if she doesn’t eat with me… that she wouldn’t eat at all.” Kix and Jesse's eyes widen. “Rex… Why would you say that?” Rex’s ears press against his head again.
“I… I don’t know, Jesse. I was mad at her attitude towards me and how rude she was being that I just said it, then I forgot about it and assumed that she was eating at night.” Rex looks down, Fives hops over and rubs Rex’s leg with his candle.
Kix sighs. “Well, there's nothing we can do about it now. Now I’m going to need some help getting her armor off.” Rex is the only one out of all of them who knows how to take the armour off because Anakin has shown him how before.“I can.” His hands are shaking a little with nerves, but he does the best that he can to keep them steady.
The position that you're in is going to make it difficult to take your armour off, so he gently picks you up slightly to move you flat onto your back. He removes the gauntlets first, followed by the biceps and shoulders. He moves onto the breastplate, unclipping the straps and then sits you up to slide the backplate from underneath you. He places the pieces of armour on top of Cody for now. Next is the bottom half of the armour. He takes off your boots carefully and then the armour protecting your shins, knees and thighs, carefully unclipping each one. Placing the last bits of armour with the rest on Cody, he sighs with relief.
“Thank you, Rex. Would you be able to get some cold water in a bowl along with a cloth, please? To help bring down her temperature.” Rex nods at Kix, walking into the connected refresher to your room. While he fills up the small bowl, he hears shuffling about in the bedroom. Rex grabs a cloth, soaking it in the water, and then walks back out.
“Where's Cody?” Rex is puzzled but places the bowl of cold water on the table beside you. “He's taking her armour to Obi Wan to be cleaned up a little.” Jesse says, hoping off of the table and onto the bed, far away from the water. He doesn't want to get wet because otherwise his little paper body would just rip apart.
“Echo, could you go and ask Gregor to make some soup? It'll help to make her feel better while she heals.” Echo nods and waddles out of the room and down the hall. Kix turns back to Rex “Okay, could you wring out the cloth a little so it's just damp and then place it on her forehead please, Rex?” Rex appreciates that Kix is helping him with what to do, he's never had to do this before. He grabs the cloth and squeezes out some of the water so it's just damp. The only problem is, his fur is getting soaked, but he doesn't mind. All that matters is making sure that you feel better soon. He places it gently on your forehead. You feel the coolness from the cloth, making your eyes begin to flutter open.
You look up to see the monster in your room, you let out a tiny gasp of surprise and fear, then you try to scoot away. “Wait-!” Rex tries to stop you, but you’re too weak to move anyway. You still struggle to try to get up, no matter how weak you are.
Kix flies straight up to your face. “Lay back down, now! You’re too weak and sick to move.” you look at the pen in shock. “I’ve either gone crazy or I’m dreaming.” you whisper weakly to yourself, making Rex chuckle. “No, it’s not either of those. Now lay down, you’re sick and need rest.” Rex tenderly uses his hands to lay you back down, you’re way too weak to even attempt to stop him.
“Good, how are you feeling miss…” you look up at the talking pen, noting the concerned look on his face. “Shiny… I’m Shiny. And I feel like I’m going to throw up.” Kix nods. “Yeah, you will be feeling like that for a while. May I ask when the last time you ate was, Miss Shiny?”
“You can just call me Shiny, the last time I ate was probably the day before I arrived here. It took me a while to find this castle.” Kix hums, he is not happy at all about how long you went without eating. “Okay, we’re getting you some soup so you should be okay.” you nod, then turn to Rex.
“Why are you helping me?” you ask in confusion, your voice is very quiet and weak, making Rex’s ears press back in guilt. “I… I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that you had to eat with me or starve. You are allowed to eat whenever you want from now on. I promise.” Your eyes widen in surprise, you didn’t expect that. “I… Thank you, I’m sorry for being so rude and stubborn.”
You look down at yourself, realizing that you aren’t wearing your armor anymore, all you’re wearing now is your underclothes and Kama. You feel nervous. “Where's my armor?” You ask quietly, you hate feeling so vulnerable. You try to get up again but end up in a coughing fit.
“You have to sit her up now!” Kix looks at Rex and uses an alarming tone, causing Rex to place a hand on your back to sit you up right. He keeps it there to keep you steady while you keep on coughing. Fives hops as quick as he can to the refresher and back again with a glass of water, placing it on the table beside you. A moment later, your coughing calms down and you gesture to Rex for the glass of water. He hands it over to you, but he notices your hand shaking. “Would you like me to hold it for you while you drink?”
You feel embarrassed that you can't hold it by yourself, but you nod, despite how vulnerable you feel. Rex tips the glass ever so slightly, bringing it closer to your mouth. The cold water soothes your throat as you take small sips at a time, in case you start coughing again. You pull away from the glass and Rex places it back down. “Thank you.” You give him a weak smile, wobbling a little as your energy begins to deplete again. “Woah, steady.” Rex's tone is much softer now as he lays you back down on the bed, positioning the pillow better beneath your head.
“Sorry, I never asked you your names.” you feel bad that you've told them your name but you haven't asked who they are yet. “It's alright, I'm Rex. The pen is Kix, Fives is the candelabra over there and this is Jesse.” The little paper man pops up from behind one of the pillows at the end of the bed. “It's nice to meet you all-”
“I've got the soup, it's still nice and hot.” Echo calls out to Kix, handing the soup to Rex who puts the bowl on the table. You peer over the bed to the ground to see a pendulum clock. Echo freezes when he catches you looking at him, then he screams and hides behind the end of the bed. Fives goes over to his twin to comfort him. You look at Rex with a nervous look. “Sorry, I didn't mean to scare him.” Rex sadly smiles. “It's alright, it's not your fault. A few days ago, when your father was here, he had taken a gear out of Echo, over there, which made him suffer in a lot of pain.”
“Oh gosh. I am so sorry that happened. My papa, he... he's an inventor so he didn't mean any harm, he is just very interested in how a variety of different things work.” Rex frowns a little as he replays the memory back in his mind. “Maybe, but my brother was in a lot of pain.” You can understand why Rex is upset about what happened, the thought of losing his brother must've been scary.
The sound of whispering voices could be heard from behind the bed, stopping just before the little clock, Echo, steps out into your view again. You can see a guilty look on his face “I'm sorry that I screamed. I didn't know that you were awake.” You do your best to smile kindly at Echo even though you don’t feel good.
“It’s okay, I’m sorry for frightening you. It’s very nice to meet you Echo. I’m Shiny.” You weakly hold your finger out to him, and he takes it softly and shakes it. “It’s very nice to meet you, Shiny.” you smile at the clock, you find him adorable. You look over at the soup.
“Is that for me?” You ask and Rex nods, he picks it up. “Do you need help eating it?” He asks quietly, you want to eat it yourself but you’re so weak. “Yes, please.” Rex grabs the spoon, picking up a little and bringing it to your lips carefully. “Make sure you take little sips, it’s not good to eat fast after going so long without food.” Kix warns and you nod to the pen, taking tiny sips slowly off of the spoon. This continues until you eat about half the bowl.
“I’m full, thank you. It was really good.” Rex smiles. “I’ll have to tell Gregor that you liked it.” You smile, but do your best to  keep your guard up, you still don’t trust Rex fully after what happened in the beginning. “Where’s my armor? I remember wearing it when I fell asleep.” Rex rubs the back of his neck.
“I had to take it off of you, It’s not very good for you to wear it all the time, especially while sleeping. My brother Cody took it to be cleaned, we have a couple of Knights here, so they’ll take good care of it.” You nod, glad to know that it’s being taken care of. “I’ll have to thank them, my armor hasn’t been cleaned in a while.” You feel your eyes grow heavy and before Rex or anyone knows it, you’ve fallen asleep.
“Is she going to be okay, Kix?” Rex asks, he feels really bad for leaving you without food still. Kix hums. “She should be okay as long as she has lots of fluids and rest. It will probably take a week or two for her to be in tip top shape.” Rex feels relief fill him, he finds that he likes you, only as a friend right now though. He hopes to make it up to you once you’re better.
Rex hears shuffling and Cody comes in, free of the armor. “How is she doing?” Rex smiles at his brother. “You actually just missed her, she woke up, ate and fell back to sleep.” Cody hums happily. “That's good, I’m glad that she got something to eat.”
“Yeah, I am too...Kix said it'll take her a couple of weeks until she fully recovers, so we'll have to watch over her, keep on checking on her every now and then.” Rex looks at you again, you look so peaceful as you sleep. “How did it go when she woke up?” Cody asks, unsure of how you reacted.
“She was a little frightened and confused at first, but she soon calmed down once we started to talk to her. I told her our names, you as well, and she said that her name is Shiny.” Cody feels himself smile. “It's a fitting name, it sounds more like a nickname, but it suits her. Being a knight and all.” Rex nods, agreeing.
“Yeah, I agree. It's a nice name for her.” Rex smiles as he decides to lay you down into a better position to sleep tonight. “Maybe we should let her rest for tonight now?” Everyone else in the room nods as they make their way out. Rex looks back, seeing you roll over onto your side and snuggle into the sheets. He shuts the door quietly and sighs happily with relief. Looking down, he sees the discarded sandwiches still on the tray on the floor, so he picks it up and takes it to the kitchen to be put in the fridge. He'll take them to you tomorrow if you are feeling any better.

Obi Wan is scrubbing away the dirt from your armour while Anakin finishes off the cleaning by polishing each piece with care.
Anakin starts some conversation “I can't believe there's another knight in the castle now. It's pretty exciting!” Obi Wan  smiles “Yes, you're right. It's a shame that she is sick though.” They remember when Cody brought you armour to them to be cleaned up a bit, also saying about how you weren't feeling too well.
“I hope she feels better soon, it would be great to talk to another knight.” Obi Wan chuckles a little at Anakin's enthusiasm. “It would indeed.”
xxx
Rex wakes up to a scream, he already knows that it’s yours. He jumps out of the bed and runs on all fours to your room. As soon as he opens the door he sees you, writhing around on your bed, with tears in his eyes. You’re still asleep, screaming out and whimpering.
Rex runs over to you, placing his hands gently on your shoulders. “Shiny! Shiny wake up, you’re having a nightmare!” You gasp as you wake up, then you go into what Rex knows is battle mode and start to punch him. It hardly hurts him at all since you’re so weak, but he’s more worried about you making yourself sicker by using up your energy.
“Shiny! Calm down, it’s me Rex. I… I won’t hurt you, I promise.” You finally realize what's happening and stop fighting Rex, relaxing as he lays you back down. You feel your cheeks heat up in embarrassment. “I’m sorry for waking you.” You whisper, feeling bad. You don’t know why you feel bad for waking Rex, he’s only just started being nice to you and you hated his gut’s only yesterday.
“It’s fine, I’ve had nightmares before too.” Rex hates seeing you upset, he doesn’t know why but he wants to hold you. He wants to comfort you. You nod. “Is it okay if I go back to sleep now, I can hardly keep my eyes open.”
“You don’t need to ask, go ahead. If you need anything just call, someone will hear you.” you nod, turning over and curling up to go to sleep. Rex smiles at the sight, leaving your room and closing the door gently, as not to disturb you.
He heads back to his bed, curling into the blankets. Rex wonders what you were dreaming about that was so horrible, he’s already decided to keep an ear out for you, just in case.
xxx
The next morning, you feel a little groggy and under the weather, but you focus on how comfortable the bed is to take your mind off of your fever. You shuffle in the bed so you are sitting upright, rubbing your eyes as the morning sun shines through the slightly ajar curtains. Muffled voices could be heard from behind your door, so you try your best to concentrate on what they are saying.
“They're awake, I just heard them.” “Anakin, we need to let them rest.” “But, Obi-Wan…”
You chuckle a little before calling as loud as your scratchy voice can go. “It's alright, you can come in if you'd like?” The voices stop muttering to each other just before the door opens.
Your eyes widen in excitement at the two suits of armour standing at the door. There isn't much difference between them, except what they have on their helmets. One of them has a piece of brown cloth attached to the helmet and the other has orange feathers coming out of the top. “Hello there, you must be the girl everyone has been talking about. You're a knight too?” The one with orange feathers asks and you nod.
“Yes, my name is Shiny. It's good to meet you…” you pause for them to tell you their names. “Oh apologies, my name is Obi Wan. This here is-”
“Anakin, I'm Anakin.” the one with the brown cloth steps forward to you, holding out his hand for a friendly hand shake. You smile and shake his hand. “Wow, a female knight!”
“Why are you surprised?” You asked, an expression of confusion on your face. “It’s just been a while since we’ve seen one.” You nod, it makes sense. “Yeah, female knights aren’t well liked so I understand that it’s been a while.”
Anakin and Obi Wan glance at each other. “What do you mean, there's nothing wrong with female knights, what do you mean that they aren’t well liked?” Obi Wan asks and you look at the two suits of armor, surprised. “Is it different here? In my village, women aren’t supposed to be knights, it's considered abnormal and odd. I’m the only female knight in my village, and I’ve never seen another one come through either.”
Obi Wan and Anakin would have an expression of anger if they could, but you could feel the anger in the force. “That’s not right, anyone can be a knight as long as they train. Your village sounds horrible.”
You nod, sighing. “Believe me, it is. I’ve been called odd my whole life in the village, and teased by the male Knights. It’s not fun.” Obi Wan walks over, placing a hand on your shoulder. “That’s not right, my dear. They have no right to treat you that way, may I ask who trained you in the force?” Obi Wan’s already sensed that you were force sensitive, that was very clear.
“None of the knights in my village wanted to train me. The only one who would was a retired Knight who worked at a bookshop, we had to train in secret, since no one liked me using the force so I’m not as trained as I would like to be.” Obi Wan is not happy at all about how your village had treated you, it was abuse! “You know, me and my fellow knight’s can help train you? If you would like?”
“Really? That would be amazing, thank you! You don't mind do you?” Obi Wan shakes his head. “Not at all, dear. We'd be more than happy to train you, wouldn't we, Anakin?” The night named Anakin nods his head enthusiastically.
“Of course! It'll be great to have another knight to hang out with.” You smile at him, thankful that they are kind enough and willing to teach you skills that the knights in your village refused to teach you. “Thank you, I appreciate it.” You cover a cough, you still don’t feel well at all.
The door swings open again, two more knights appearing. One has feathers like Obi Wan's, but instead of orange ones they are brown. The other knight has a Kel dor shaped helmet, he carries a tray with a pot of tea and four little teacups. “Good morning, Miss. I thought you'd like some tea?” The Kel dor offers.
“That would be lovely, thank you.” Your voice is a little croaky, but hopefully a hot cup of tea will help it. The knight slowly tips the teapot to fill a little teacup, carefully picking it up and handing it to you. You take it from him and sip some of the hot warm, making sure you don't burn your mouth.
When you pull it away from your mouth, you notice a small scratch and when you look closer, the teacup has eyes and a mouth. “Hi there. You're so adorable.” You chuckle when the little teacup shows a grumpy expression.
“I-I'm not cute!” He tries his hardest to be annoyed, but he feels a bit flustered from the compliment. The other three teacups on the tray laugh at Wolffe.
“You really do look adorable as a teacup, Ori’Vod.” One of the teacups says and you chuckle as the one in your hand pouts. “I’m not cute, Comet. I’m 21 years old, too old to be cute.” Everyone chuckles at Wolffe, and you stroke the scratch over his eye, making him hum.
“Well I don’t think that you can ever be too old to be called cute, and you’re all adorable, not just Wolffe.” The other three’s mouths open wide, as the Kel dor looking knight chuckles. “All four of you are adorable.” You smile at how sweet the Keldor is to all of them, he then turns to you.
“I’m sorry, I never told you my name. I am Plo Koon, but you can just call me Plo. and these are my son’s.” he gestures to all four of the teacups. “You already met Wolffe, these two are the twins, Boost and Sinker, they’re twenty years old. And this is my youngest, Comet, he’s 18.”
You smile at the teacups. “Well it’s very nice to meet you, Plo. and it was very nice meeting these three as well.” You smile at the little teacups, finding them absolutely adorable. “So, you’re a Knight like Buir?” Wolffe asks and you nod.
“Great! We haven’t had another Knight in years, by the way, what's your name?” You internally facepalm when you realize that you never told Plo or his kids your name. “Sorry, my name’s Shiny.” Wolffe and his brother’s smile, they like the name.
“That’s a nice name, Shiny.” Comet tells you, hopping over. “Yeah, its so cool!” Boost hops over as well.
“That is a very pretty name, Miss Shiny. Its a pleasure to meet you.” You smile at the Kel dor, then you turn to the other Knight that came in with him. “Hello, What’s your name?” You ask, noticing that this Knight is quieter than the rest.
“My name's Kanan, it's nice to meet you Shiny.” The kind tone to his voice makes you smile. He wishes that he could smile back at you, but it's been years now that he's gotten used to just showing his emotions through his words. “It's great to meet another knight. It's been a long time, how are you feeling?” He asks as you take another sip from the little tea cup still sat in your hands.
“I'm feeling a bit better after this drink, thank you.” You smile at Plo and he nods back at you.
“So how did you get your name, Shiny? It sounds more like a nickname.” Anakin asks inquisitively. “It is a nickname, the male knights in the village always picked on me and called me that. I guess it kinda grew on me, and it wasn't long before my whole village was calling me Shiny. My given name is y/n.” Anakin frowns a little, feeling sorry that he made you bring up the other knights who would pick on you.
“I'm sorry that they weren't very nice to you. We'll definitely have to help you train and teach you loads of new skills for sure!” You smile gratefully at the suit of armor. “Thank you so much, that would be amazing.” You hand Wolffe back over to Plo and join his brothers.
The knight named Obi Wan turns to you “So, what name would you prefer us to call you by?”
“I prefer my nickname, Shiny, over my given name.” You explain to them as they share a small nod with each other. “Great, we'll call you by that then, Shiny.” Obi Wan's cheery voice makes you smile once again. You lay down against the bed, you’re starting to feel weak again. The knights leave to let you rest, they all wish you well.
A few moments later, a pen floats through the door followed by a paper bird gliding through the air. Kix hovers near you “Good morning, Shiny. How are you feeling today? You look a lot better.” Kix asks and you nod. “Yes, I'm feeling better after having some food and some sleep thank you. I am starting to feel weak again, but I had quite a few visitors this morning.”
You watch the little paper bird circling around the bed a few times, and before it lands, it unfolds and folds back up into a paper man. “Mornin', Shiny.” you realise who this is now as he moved the ink around on his face to create his features. “Morning, Jesse. That was amazing! How do you do that?”
“Well I kinda just imagine whatever I want to fold into and then it happens.” He chuckles to himself, not really knowing himself how he can do the things that he can do with moving the ink around his paper body and folding himself into multiple shapes and figures. “That's so cool.”
Jesse smiles at you once he folds himself back into a human shape. “It definitely is!” you then turn to Kix.
“So Kix, how did you become a doctor?” You ask the pen, trying to make conversation. Kix looks up at you smiling. “It was about thirteen years ago that I finished my training, Jesse here was actually my first patient. He was supportive of me all the way, even though our parents weren’t exactly thrilled.”
“That’s interesting, do you mind if I ask how Jesse was injured.” Jesse looks down in embarrassment while Kix chuckles. “Jesse and a few of our cousins were having a snowball fight, he ended up getting a black eye and I had to take care of him, he was my first patient while I was… Younger.” You heard Kix’s pause, but from his story you already know why and what he was going to say.
“You mean when you were human?” You ask, making Kix and Jesse’s eyes go wide. “How do you…?” Kix asks, making you smile even though you don’t feel well.
“It was pretty easy to figure out from your story, a pen wouldn’t be able to become a doctor and a piece of paper can’t get a black eye. Or play in the snow.” Kix and Jesse glance at each other, you were not supposed to find out, Rex is not going to be happy. At all.
“Will you excuse us, Shiny. I’ll be back in a little bit to give you a checkup.” You nod and both of them fly out of the room, Jesse folding himself into a bird again. You wonder what’s going to happen now. You lay down and decide to get some rest, hoping to find out the answer when you wake up.

What if Luke was found by Vader at the age of six? Padme lived and joined the Rebellion? What happens when Vader dies and leaves a message behind for his wife?
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
There was a distinct sound of a click, followed by the sound of a machine starting up. Engines started to whirl and slowly the large double doors started to slide open. Padme could see that they were thick, a few feet thick, thick enough to guard against a bombardment. What was beyond these doors? What had her husband left here for her?
A month ago the news of the death of Darth Vader spread across the galaxy. There was shock and celebration and very little mourning. At least genuine mourning. The Emperor had held a memorial service with rows upon rows of stormtroopers forced to attend. But amongst the Empire, there were those who celebrated Vader’s death.
Padme was perhaps one of the few people who had cried. Maybe even the only one. She wondered and worried about her son. How had he taken the death of his father? Luke had been raised by Vader since he was six. She had always hoped for the best for the father and son pair and that they found love with each other. But at the memorial service, Imperial Prince Luke Vader had an emotionless face. If the loss of his father meant anything, he did not show it publicly.
But only a week after Vader’s death, she got a message from her dead husband. It was delivered to her by the bounty hunter Boba Fett.
“You’re not here to kill me or take me in?” she had asked him.
“I was paid very good money not to,” he said. She wondered how much that was considering the bounty on her head was one of the highest in the Empire as one of the leaders of the Rebellion. “As well as to deliver this to you should Vader ever be killed.”
“And what if you were killed?”
“I wasn’t,” he said as he handed her a data chip.
It took her a few days before she looked at it. One night she couldn’t sleep, so she sat at her desk and inserted the chip into a datapad. It asked for a password. What password? She tried typing her name. That didn’t work. His name. His real name. The name of their children. The name of his ships. Their birth planets. His mother’s name. She sighed. Then she slowly typed in the word angel.
At once a blue hologram of Vader popped up. He didn’t say anything for several long moments. Only his breathing was heard.
“Padme,” he finally said. Her breath caught in her throat. “If you are viewing this, it means I am dead. I . . . I . . . There is so much I regret. So much I wish to tell you, but I will tell you this. I love you. I have always loved you. I . . . I have left you something. Credits. I know you want nothing to do with me and my money, but I want you to have them. Use them to fuel the Rebellion, but please use them. Plus there is . . . more . . . waiting for you at these coordinates. I love you, my angel.”
She had cried herself to sleep after that. It took another two weeks before she finally found time to fly out to the coordinates. It was a desolate and lifeless planet with nothing but sharp grey rocks and matching grey skies. The place was filled with abandoned mining equipment and crumbling factories. It looked like the place had long since been sucked dry of whatever resources it had. She wasn’t surprised she found herself landing in a large mine.
She was surprised by the huge double doors on the other side of the mine and that there appeared to be no way to get them to open. There was no control panel. No wires. Nothing. How was she going to get inside?
Of course.
She couldn’t do this alone. She needed a Force-sensitive to open the door and the Alliance had several Jedi and former Jedi members, but only one she would ask. This was far too personal and private to ask this of anyone else besides her daughter.
So another few weeks passed until Padme finally managed to get them both free from their obligations, and once again she found herself back in the large mine this time with Leia at her side. Using the Force, the young woman quickly found a mechanism on the other side of the door that opened the doors.
They stood side by side as they watched the massive things roll open. Leia took her mother’s hand, gave it a squeeze before they walked in. Padme had her blaster up and ready and Leia lit her blue lightsaber.  The tunnel beyond the doors was long and angled downwards. Eventually, even the doors disappeared as they kept going. Their only light was the glow of Leia’s lightsaber and a yellow glow rod Padme had lit and held in one-hand. On and on they went. Deeper and deeper into the earth.
What had Vader hidden down here for her? Just credits? It couldn’t just be credits. There had to be more. There was something else. There were a lot of other ways to get credits to her if that’s what he wanted. She knew there was something waiting for her down here.
They had been walking for two hours when they finally came to the end. It was a smooth metal wall with a single door in it. The two exchange a look before Padme walked up and pressed the door release. Surprisingly, it opened without any passcode. A short hallway opened up to a large circular room. It was tiered, with one level going around the perimeter then it would go down three steps to the center level.
It appeared to be the main living area of whatever this place was. The inner level had some couches and chairs to the right side and a dining area to the left. Above the dining area on the higher tier was a small kitchen area. The top tier also had an office workspace with a desk, computer terminal, and small holoprojector. There was another workspace area, but it was just an empty desk by the wall. There were a few closed doors spaced around the room. Most likely these led to bedrooms, a refresher, and hopefully to the storage area.
“Where should we check first?” Leia asked as if reading her mother’s mind.
Padme eyed each of the four doors but then turned to the workspace. Perhaps the terminal would have a map of this place. Maybe even another message from Vader. She walked straight there and sat down, however, the terminal needed a password. While she worked through various words she thought would unlock it, Leia wandered around the room. Her lightsaber hung loosely unlit in her hand.
Padme sighed.
Of course, he hadn’t made this easy. Why would he? Even in death, he had to be infuriating as if he had to have the last word. They should just go. Whatever was down here could stay down here. She had done fine the past twenty years without his help; she didn’t need it now. If he really had wanted to help her why wait until he was dead? He had plenty of opportunities to reach out to her over the years.
She stood up, stretched, and right as she was going to call out to her daughter a door slid open. There was a snap-hiss as Leia ignited her blue lightsaber. It had once been her father’s when he was a different man.
Someone walked out and stopped. They looked at Leia and her lightsaber.
“Anakin?” Padme said.
A pale bald head turned towards her. She’d know him anywhere, even without the helmet. She had never seen what he had looked like . . . after . . . his fateful duel with Obi-Wan . . . but she knew he lived in his life support suit for a reason. No way would Anakin Skywalker limit himself to such a device unless he had to. And seeing him now, it confirmed her suspicions.
His skin was pale, grey, and scarred. The skin around his eyes was dark and baggy. He wore a large oversized black robe that hid his body that could possibly hide life-support machines. There was a thick metal collar around his neck with a clear breathing mask covering his nose and mouth with tubes connected it to the collar. There was a faint hiss of a respirator.
Leia had taken a step back, but her saber was up in a defensive stance.
“It’s you,” she said slowly; her eyes never left him.
There was a slight nod of his head. He gave Leia a long look, before he turned to face Padme.
“You . . . You came,” he said. His voice wasn’t the deep baritone that she had come to know as the voice of Vader. A voice far removed from Anakin. It was wheezy and weak, but there was still a weight to it.
“You’re alive,” Padme growled as she snapped up her blaster and pointed it at him. “You’re supposed to be dead.”
“I am,” he said. There was no fire in his voice. He sounded defeated. “And perhaps I should have died, but I could not allow it.”
“Oh? Please, don’t tell me you have had a sudden change of heart.”
He closed his eyes and sighed. “And if I said that I have?” His eyes slowly reopened. They were dark and she wondered what color they were. Ahsoka had told her his eyes were now yellow ringed in red. Eyes of a sith. But if that was so now, shouldn’t she be able to tell? Even from this distance?
Leia let out a soft snort. “So what? You died and when they resuscitated you and got your cold little heart to start pumping, you finally rediscovered it or what?”
“I never came close to death,” he said.
She raised an eyebrow and Padme pursed her lips.
“What game is this?” Padme snapped. “You’ve faked your death? Lured me here with Leia. Now what? What do you want? To join the Alliance?”
Vader looked at his wife then at his daughter. “I have no desire to join your pathetic and doomed Rebellion.”
“I was starting to doubt if you really were Darth Vader,” Leia said. “But now you’re starting to sound like him.”
“You know who I am, girl,” he growled as he raised a hand and pointed a finger at her. “You can feel it in the Force, just as I can feel you. Let us stop with this foolishness. Come, we have lots to discuss.”
“Do we?” Padme asked. Vader’s hand lowered and he turned to fully face. “Why am I here, Anakin? Tell me why I shouldn’t just leave right now?”
There was a breath. Then another. Vader’s chest rose and fell with the light sound of his respirator.
“This has nothing to do with me,” he said. “This is about Luke.”
He turned. His robe billowed and fluttered behind him as he stalked back through the door he came through without a look back. Mother and daughter shared a look. Should they proceed? But Padme knew the answer the moment the name had left Vader’s mouth. She holstered her blaster, gave Leia a reassuring nod, and walked to the door to follow her husband.
