As suspected, the affectionate nickname immediately got his attention as he looked up at Priya who finally had his full attention. "What did I do now?" His eyebrows furrowed as he raided his brain for a reason.

anyways in all official artworks ghost is holding their nail in their left hand, plus the art of broken vessel shows their nail sheathed in a way that implies they would retrieve it with their left, AND the hollow knight, while lacking a left hand, DOES cast spells with their left and summon void tendrils with their left as PV, both more complicated feats than fencing. now the thing about this is that handedness is genetic, which, given that every living vessel is left handed, implies that the odds are HEAVILY skewed, meaning that PK is likely either left handed or ambidextrous himself. now the INTERESTING thing about this is that we KNOW that it's not just PK contributing to this genetic trait - because, as it turns out, HORNET is RIGHT HANDED, meaning that Herrah is a rightie and that the White Lady is a leftie. I personally like ambidextrous PK because of symbolism in writing - OH and that reminds me, speaking of genetics, we can also determine based on the similarity of the body structure between Hornet and THK- where are you going come back"

btw silver fans and knuckles fans should unionize. and petition sega to make them best friends

the difference between them though is that knuckles' isolation makes him uneasy around other people, especially those he doesn't know well (what if they lie to him :( hes too autistic to tell if someone is lying so that means everyone might be lying...) and silver's isolation has made him desperate for socialization with other people and he doesn't notice right away if he is making someone uncomfortable with his intensity.

but i think silver's persistence could really be the key to their friendship working. silver isn't one to give up on a goal and he wants to bond with knuckles so by god hes going to figure out how to bond with knuckles in a way that doesnt make knuckles uncomfortable. knux is a really sweet, really knowledgeable guy when you get past his suspicion and fear, and i think he'd just be afraid silver would like, knock over an artifact and break it or something.

when they go to the angel island underground together, silver's pk proves useful to retrieve artifacts without risking damage to surrounding areas! which knuckles likes and appreciates. and despite everything, silver does know how to be quiet and introspective and appreciate a mutually peaceful moment, so i think when knuckles preps them both some foraged food over a fire it's just comfortable quiet. they should be best friends forever for the rest of forever.

Duck Comic Reading Club Week 18: Paperinik New Adventures: Carpe Diem

Shame on me.

Shame on me, to let all this time pass and not do the reviews. Well, let's do one at least. This one has Raider on the cover and he's my favorite character. I'm sure this will be good.

This, we're in the future, and we all know nothing good comes from that place. In this mysterious lab, an experiment is going on, and it turned out wrong.

So wrong. Imagine being in you bed reading before going to sleep, or watching the big game, and suddenly be erased from existence. That would suck.

But is even worse.

The time and space fabric itself is exploding. We're doomed.

Talking about raising the stakes, this is the biggest threat ever for PK. We're no talking about the destruction of the west coast or even the planet conquest, we're talking about the destruction of our reality.

Now, this is something that would hook any reader.

Turned out that an evil organization was the one who found out about that problem and they'll be the ones who are going to fix it. I didn't see that one coming.

They want to send their best agent, Raider. Only problem, he's in prison. But, there's one duck who can take him out of there.

This issue gets better with every page.

The organization brings PK to the future and they make crystal clear the fact that the existence is dying, and the time police won't do anything about it. What an assholes.

Well, the next page is so funny to me.

The time police won't interfere in the accident that will destroy time and space, because is what meant to be. Just like in Day of the Cold Sun. That sucks, but that's their way to do things I guess.

But it turned out, that they suck at they work of protect the past. Look at the loot the organization has, not even Scrooge stole that many treasures. Or maybe he did. Freaking tomb robber.

And then, the organization is called, The Organization. They spent four days thinking on that name.

Back to the comic.

PK and a droid called Newton (he was the one who brought PK to the future) sneak in the prison, but the plan failed almost immediately.

Newton jumped through time, leaving PK behind. Our hero fought valiantly against the time police, but he was done for.

No way, when the mask is on, the goddess of luck always smiles at Donald.

And know, Raider is here too. The Dream Team is back together.

Now, this is a comic about Donald Duck being a superhero who fights aliens and time traveler's. You have to be ready for some nonesens here and there. And I totally on board with that.

But this plan bothers me. PK and Raider have to go into the future to stop the experiment to happen, saving the time and space. Simple.

Here's my problem. If time and space are dying while they speak, how is even possible to travel into the future? Even worse, to the exact point when time stopped. Future should be a void by now.

Maybe I thinking way to hard on that one. Either way, this is a great comic.

Raider and PK make their way into the lab, ready for their mission. In The Darkest Night, we saw a timer, and I said that it didn't have any purpose. This time, that timer is essential. We now know we only have 29 minutes until the end of existence. That's how you make the tension grows.

No amount of guards would be enough to stop PK and Raider. Sadly, PK is such a hero, and that leaves an opening for one of the guards to warning the rest of the lab of their presence.

The experiment is starting right now.

The next four pages are comic greatness.

It looks like PK and Raider were done for, but they never gave up. The fight until the very last second, and PK retrieved the chronal unit, saving the our whole existence.

And how PK saved us? Using Newton's weird tie, that he gave to PK as a good luck charm. It sound ridiculous, but is not, because every droid become an ally of PK. Is one of his powers.

The issue ends with Raider free and his alliance with PK terminated, by now at least.

This one was excellent. A taste of how good Paperinik New Adventures can be. This is the kind of comics that turns casual readers into fans.

We also have a short story, and it doesn't have Fangus as protagonist. Nice.

Hey! Is the son of Raider, Trip.

The kid is destroying the house maid robot to modify his chronosail wristband, that didn't go well with Raider.

Trip gets mad because Raider didn't award him for saying the truth and started talking about good old Georgie W.

Raider had enough and does what any other parent would do, he travel in time with his son to confront George and tell him to stay away from the tree. But...

Raider was the one who destroy the tree. And George blamed himself because he knew nobody would ever believe him. Talking about time paradoxes.

This short story is irrelevant and weird, and I would have skipped, but @puffywuffy8904 loves Trip, so I had to read it.

Peg Leg Pete is gone.

Yes, he won't feature in future stories on Topolino since this week. How did it happen? Spoilers ahead.

In the story Return to Ducktopia, the second installment of the Ducktopia saga, Pegleg Pete sacrified himself for a greater good, resulting in him being banished from Earth and trapped in a parallel universe.

Of course the other Disney characters will eventually embark in a new adventure to retrieve him, but, until then, no story featuring him will be published. This hiatus is set to last for months.

Ducktopia is a fantasy saga starring both ducks and mice, written by reknown novelist Licia Troisi and Disney legend Francesco Artibani, drawn by artist Francesco D'Ippolito.

The decision is in line with the more continuity driven approach to the Disney universe supported by editor-in-chief Alex Bertani.

Fun fact: Francesco Artibani, who appears to have fathered the choice, is responsible for some excellent killings in Disney comics, such as the Raider and One from Pk and Ghiro from W.i.t.c.h.

Two of those were eventually reverted by himself in some magnificent storylines; this one is likely to follow along.

who is better at defense - marner or matthews?

Matthews, but you have to understand he's Mr goddamn Perfect and the second best player in the world atm. Marner is also quite good at defense (and they're both good in fairly similar ways -- great at takeaways/retrievals especially) and gets a lot more PK time than Matthews, which means his usage is often geared towards that.

Farscape rewatch, Relativity, 3x10

Both Relativity and the ep that follows it, Incubator, are in different ways, about what forms you, about parents and heritage and being confronted with reality different from prior beliefs. In Relativity, the target is Aeryn, in Incubator, Scorpius.

In Relativity, Aeryn is confronted with her mother, someone who is absolutely critical to her formation as a human being, one of the two encounters in her PK life which created in her the woman who could respond, recognize something inherently full of potential in John’s ‘You can be more’ in the Premiere. Someone who could, however awkwardly, speak up as to his innocence to her superior officer. The second of such experiences was, of course, Velorek, someone who showed unexpected humanity, whom she could have loved, and whom she betrayed. That act of betrayal is what saved John’s life in Premiere, really. That echo of her previous effort to be a perfect PK, that echo of a man who believed she is more than a mindless killing machine. (I love how both with John, and with what little we saw of Velorek, Aeryn is the tougher, less emotional one. And yet not stunted or unwomanly. Too often, when shows try to create a tough lady, they create a man with estrogen, or someone lessened). But the first formative encounter, the encounter that allowed her to realize the wrongness of her behavior towards Velorek, the source of her even feeling anything for him (I always thought her betrayal of him was as much a response to her own feelings she was uncomfortable with), the source of her almost-stomped out but present belief she is an individual, that she has worth, is that childhood encounter with her mother. The woman who was every inch a tough soldier, but who risked everything to come and tell Aeryn when she was a small child that she was her mother, and that she was conceived in love, and that her parents loved each other and her. When Aeryn says that through the years, every time she saw a transport, she would look at soldiers, hoping to see the face of a woman she only saw once, your heart breaks for her. But of course, this is Farscape, and this meeting is different, very different. Xalax Sun is the leader of the squad sent to retrieve Talyn and Crais (I love how Crais was twisty, and clever, and untrustworthy and somehow honorable here. And I love that the only reason John didn’t leave him to die is because he needed him. Though that is not truly all, I don’t think John could kill a man like that, in cold blood). Xalax of the present day is not only PK tough, she is a dutiful zombie, dead inside, someone who has been dead for many years, as a result of her retrieval squad duties (brutal even by PK standards) and as a result of her choices. Her trip to Aeryn was found out, and she was offered a choice to kill Talyn (her lover) or Aeryn, and she chose Talyn (though I don’t think we learn about that choice until ‘The Choice’). In a way, this is a shadow of Aeryn and Velorek, only Aeryn never loved Velorek (she could have, given more time), and unlike Xalax, she was given a second chance, before the soul was brutalized out of her. And that is the thing: Xalax is clearly tormented on a level, but she has locked away all feeling, as unworthy, because she has to justify to herself that what she did was right, the only way to live. And she locked it up because caring brings horrible pain, makes you vulnerable. Does the latter emotional shut-down remind you of anything? It does to me. It makes me think of Aeryn in ‘The Choice,’ also in the aftermath of the death of her love, only she is both better and worse off: she did not kill him herself, but there is no child. It is an instinctive reaction to want to never be vulnerable again, to shut down. And of course, Aeryn is lucky, she is surrounded not by PKs who keep pushing the inhumanity line, but by Moyans, who value feelings, who are beings with souls. And she has John, who is the same man she buried, minus some months of memories (but what formative experiences!) and she cannot fight her love for too long. But Xalax had none of these. If Stark is what John could become in a horrible reality, then Xalax is Aeryn’s personal potential nightmare future. And yet, that nightmare future is not to be, for either John or Aeryn. The episode is shot through with hope and love. After all, this is the episode that opens with John and Aeryn finally having made love (which is really the final commitment and acknowledgment for them), giddy in bed after a night of love-making. I love that in typical Farscape fashion, we first learn of it from the disgruntled Rygel who had been kept up all night because of it (his bed is on the other side of the partition) and is justifiably annoyed.  And I love that John and Aeryn know of it, and they are being so silly and adorable, teasing Rygel, with Crichton banging on the wall in pretend imitation (LOL) and Aeryn grinning at him that he was “louder last night, believe it or not.” I love that it’s so real, no ‘holy glow’ sex or some super solemn bit: just joyful and natural and right, and a little silly.

If it wasn’t for the latest crisis, I imagine they would spend the whole day in bed :D I always found Stark listening at the partition a bit odd, but this time it hit me: it is such a change for him to feel positive emotion, joy, happiness, emanating from beings around him. He deals so much with misery and death, he is trying to soak others’ happiness and not pain, for once. And I do love that later, sewing up Rygel (and how like Rygel, to be an ingrate, and how like Stark, to want to save him from dying) he sees/feels Zhaan. He deserves his comfort, whether it was real or not. I am convinced a large chunk of reason they kept Stark on the show was because he was the only one more insane than John. But yes, the reason Aeryn is not Xalax, will never be Xalax, is John and the new world that opened to her when she became ‘irreversibly contaminated.’ He is there for her, through good and bad. Witness his stubborn, blind, quiet/panicked and very adamant refusal to believe she is dead. Witness his instinctive, almost primal insistence on her not being the one to shoot her mother. He shields her the way Xalax was never shielded, he prevents Aeryn from killing her family. And when he is leading her away, and she breaks down, he is supporting her, holding her up and, I never realized it before, covering her ears, so she won’t have to hear the shots. His attention to her, on her, is total.

They save each other, don’t they? Over and over and over again. It is a wonderful thing, but being this loved, this cared for, does lead to the abyss of the other side of the coin: the utter bereftness when that is gone. Aeryn has decided that she is alright, no matter what else happens, as long as she has John (just as that is exactly what Crichton has. No matter what, he can keep his sanity and his soul if she is around). But that means if the one person is removed, the world falls apart. It is because John loved her so much, because she loved him just as much, because they were so organic together, that she cannot face being without him, in The Choice. And I love that is never about a woman needing a man, or needing romantic love to be complete. It’s about Aeryn needing John. And John needing Aeryn. I love the end scene between John and Aeryn. It is incredible: both so grimy, battered, hurt in different ways because of the day from hell, but finding so much comfort and strength from each other, full of so much love and anxiety and relief. The chemistry burns the screen, and the peace they find with each other is palpable. And oh, when Aeryn says she will come to bed soon and they can sleep. Or not. And smiles? They can deal with anything when they are together.

The flip side is that they cannot deal with being without each other. Xalax is the visible proof of the price you might pay for love, just as Stark is visible proof of the costs of torture. In the Farscape world, you have to actively fight to avoid those outcomes, those goalposts.

Fighter #10 - Ness

- Ness does amazing in school. He gets straight A's without even trying. Out of every class, science is easily his favorite.

- He has a collection of colorful magnets for the kitchen fridge.

- He knows how to make molotov cocktails somehow. Samus blames the villains for teaching him, but she fails to realize that the internet is a magical, informative place.

- He owns a small science kit that he always brings around with him.

- Ness has nearly blown up the mansion due to irresponsible mixing of various lethal chemicals. How he got said chemicals, nobody knows—they sure as hell weren't in the science kit. (He doesn't read the labels half the time, so that doesn't help either.)

- Ness might be smart, but he still does some stupid things, both accidentally and on purpose.

- He often uses PK Thunder to propel himself throughout the mansion, which earns him plenty of visits with Dr. Mario.

- He always marks the dates of meteor showers on his calendar. When the day arrives, he invites his friends over to watch them.

- Ness has a massive crush on Samus. If she does something nice for him (or even talks to him, it really doesn't take much), he blushes like crazy.

- As much as Ness loves baseball, he kinda sucks at it. With help from Snake, he's slowly trying to improve. He's far better at batting than he is at pitching.

- He isn't the most artistic, but give him some clay and he can do a pretty decent volcano sculpture (though it won't last long before he accidentally blows it apart with something).

- Ness got really curious about Kadabra one day and decided to read a bunch of its Pokedex entries. He couldn't sleep for weeks after that.

- Young Link is a good friend of his. He might not speak much, but he makes for great company.

- He won second place in his school talent show one year for his cool yo-yo tricks.

- This kid is unbelievable at hide-and-seek. He knows all of the best hiding spots in the mansion. One time, the others thought he'd gotten kidnapped because, for over an hour, they couldn't find him.

- His first stuffed animal was a teddy bear named Roger. He won't admit it to anyone, but Ness still has him in his bedroom closet. Whenever he has a really bad nightmare, he'll retrieve Roger and cuddle with him for the rest of the night.

- Ness is really interested in Greek mythology and finds himself talking to Pit a lot about it. 

- Ness gets homesick really easily. If something reminds him of Onett, he becomes slightly depressed. He video chats with his friends every night to help him cope with it.

- Ness LOVES steak. Steak tacos, steak with potatoes, surf & turf—he'll eat anything if it has steak. Much to the others' dismay, he likes it best when it's cooked rare. A lot of the older fighters are worried about him eating it like that.

- "Rare? It's practically still alive at that point, darling." - Bayonetta

- Snake is like a father figure to him. They do a lot together, from playing video games to perfecting Ness' pitch.

- He's also Snake's self-proclaimed wingman when it comes to love. In the past, Ness has desperately tried to set him up on dates, even going so far as to set up a Tinder profile for him without his knowledge, but Snake always rejected them. Poor Ness just wanted the man to get the love he deserved, and he didn't understand why he wouldn't give it a shot. Then one day, Snake finally confided in him. As it turns out, he only rejected those dates because he already had his steel heart set upon Samus. Ness was shocked and felt a little betrayed at first, but he was still determined to help out his friend.

- "Samus? Really? Well, you better make a move quick before I get to her first!" - Ness

- Ness also has a strong friendship with Otacon. They nerd out about science-y stuff together.

- To his surprise, he's actually a big fan of heavy metal. Snake introduced him to a couple bands and when he listened to their music for the first time, his mind was completely blown.

- Ness dreams of one day joining a professional baseball team. He just has to pitch without hitting someone in the head first.

- Despite being young, Ness understands the value of a dollar. He's financially responsible and already has a jar in his closet specifically for college savings.

- Ness has a whole album full of limited edition baseball cards, with most of them in mint condition.

- Once, Wario stole this precious album and put it up for auction on Ebay, where he ended up selling it for $100,000. It wasn't long before Ness found out, and with Otacon's help, he tracked down the person it was sold to. When he politely informed them that the cards were stolen, they were very understanding and sent them back. Once they returned to the mansion, Snake held Wario at gunpoint until he agreed to give the money back. In the end, all went well and everything returned to its rightful place.

- Well, except for Wario's happiness. That disappeared along with the money.

- Ness has a lot of dreams about memories from his early childhood, which often contribute to his homesickness.

- As of right now, he's the only one who can comprehend, speak, and translate Saturnian. He's currently trying to teach it to Lucas.

- Surprisingly, Ness doesn't have the strongest stomach. He nearly threw up when he first encountered Master Belch, then nearly threw up again when they met a second time, then actually threw up when he found the blob of grossness hanging out on the Spirit Board.

- Ness has accumulated quite a few nicknames during his time at the mansion. Roy (FE) and Snake affectionately refer to him as "squirt", Otacon calls him "buddy", and Bowser, Ganondorf, and Ridley call him "pipsqueak". His favorite is "Psi Guy", given to him by Pit.

- Bayonetta calls him a twerp sometimes, but that's only when she's irritated with him.

- You know how his science experiments sometimes go completely awry? Well, it only gets worse when he has friends around. He and Jeff have launched rockets around the mansion several times and nearly destroyed tons of valuable items. They're convinced that, one day, they'll finally be able to make a functional rocket, but Snake believes that day won't arrive for a long time.

- This kid makes Scooby-Doo references constantly, to the point where it's almost too much. If he sees something dangerous, he always says "Gee Scoob, we better get out of here!" It doesn't matter whether he's by himself or with ten other people, he'll always be talking to "Scoob".

- He has six different yo-yos, all in various colors. The green one is his favorite.

- If a blackout happens, Ness will use PK Flash to help fighters see. Pikachu and Pichu will also contribute using their own electrical powers.

- If he suspects someone stole something from him, he'll use his psychic powers to turn them upside-down and give them a cartoon-style shakedown. He'll then drop them on their head when he's finished.

- When big festivals and parties come up, he begs the adults to be in charge of fireworks, but everyone knows how that would end up.

- He does the Naruto run even though he has no idea what Naruto is.

- On nights he can't sleep, he loves going up on the balcony and using the telescope. Not only does he enjoy seeing the stars and planets at night, but it also reminds him of the smile on Samus' face when she first bought it for the mansion. Seeing her so happy made him happy, too.

- His favorite song from the Smash soundtrack is Bein' Friends. He always cries whenever he hears the slow part, so it inspires him to finish his battles quickly before it comes on.
