idk my brain was bored even tho i wanted to keep drawing my sonadow fankids this weekend but i don’t think that’s gonna happen
ok but fr tho my mindset changes from “pure fluff sonadow so cute soft” to “i need to make a doohickey right now” like phases of the moon it’s fucking crazy and i don’t like it actually
#my stuff#idk i wouldn’t call this art lol#idea#eureka !#does anyone have an old pair of switch joycons they wanna give me?#it literally doesn’t matter if there’s crusty bugs on it i just need them for the hardware lol#if not i will soldier on through ebay#okay ebay isn’t actually that bad it’s just that i’ve customized multiple switch controllers before just with the simple shells#but when i order a used pair of joycons that claims to be nintendo legit#it turns out it’s not bc the PCB isn’t even the right shape for the inner shell basket thingy dawg#idk the words rn i’m tired oops#oh uh#3d modeling ??#engineering student#how about that i think that tag fits here

B.Tech Courses for PCB Students: A New Pathway in IPU
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/b5a1af043db67a451f3fb5234087cf3f/fb7c6e7903f56e5c-df/s540x810/3a0e8d654d37ce143a7939ba4135794801bcd24d.jpg)
In the evolving landscape of higher education, the integration of diverse academic backgrounds is becoming increasingly important. Recognizing this trend, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IPU) has opened new avenues for students from varied streams. One significant development is the inclusion of B.Tech courses tailored specifically for students who have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) in their higher secondary education. This initiative marks a progressive step towards fostering interdisciplinary learning and broadening career prospects for PCB students.
Expanding Horizons for PCB Students
Traditionally, B.Tech courses have been predominantly pursued by students with a Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) background. However, IPU's decision to offer B.Tech courses for PCB students acknowledges the growing interest and capability of biology students in the field of technology and engineering. This inclusive approach allows PCB students to explore technical education without the prerequisite of mathematics at the higher secondary level.
Specialized B.Tech Courses for PCB Students
IPU offers several specialized B.Tech programs designed to leverage the strengths of PCB students. These programs focus on integrating biological sciences with engineering principles, preparing students for careers in emerging fields. Some of the popular B.Tech courses available for PCB students include:
1. **B.Tech in Biotechnology**: This course combines biology with technology, focusing on the development and application of biological processes for industrial and other purposes. Students learn about genetic engineering, bioprocess technology, and bioinformatics, among other subjects.
2. **B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering**: This interdisciplinary course merges the principles of engineering with medical sciences. Students are trained in designing and developing medical devices, diagnostic equipment, and therapeutic technologies. The curriculum includes subjects like medical imaging, biomaterials, and biomechanics.
3. **B.Tech in Environmental Engineering**: With a focus on addressing environmental challenges, this course equips students with the skills to develop sustainable solutions. The program covers topics such as water and wastewater treatment, air pollution control, and environmental impact assessment.
Admission Criteria and Eligibility
To be eligible for these B.Tech courses, PCB students must have completed their higher secondary education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their core subjects. Additionally, they are required to qualify in the IPU CET (Common Entrance Test) specifically designed for PCB students aspiring to join B.Tech programs. The entrance test assesses the candidates' knowledge and aptitude in relevant subjects, ensuring they have the foundational understanding necessary for the technical curriculum.
Career Prospects
Graduating from these specialized B.Tech courses opens up a myriad of career opportunities for PCB students. They can pursue roles in biotechnology firms, healthcare industries, environmental agencies, research institutions, and more. The interdisciplinary nature of these programs also makes them well-suited for further studies and research in both engineering and biological sciences.
Conclusion
IPU's initiative to offer B.Tech courses for PCB students is a commendable effort to diversify the engineering education landscape. By providing tailored programs that bridge the gap between biology and technology, IPU is empowering a new generation of students to explore innovative career paths. This move not only enhances the inclusivity of technical education but also contributes to the development of solutions for complex biological and environmental challenges.
For PCB students aspiring to delve into the world of technology and engineering, IPU's B.Tech programs represent a gateway to a promising and fulfilling career.

"As the world grows “smarter” through the adoption of smartphones, smart fridges, and entire smart houses, the carbon cost of that technology grows, too.
In the last decade, electronic waste has become one of the fastest-growing waste streams in the world.
According to The World Counts, the globe generates about 50 million tons of e-waste every year. That’s the equivalent of 1,000 laptops being trashed every second.
After they’re shipped off to landfills and incinerated, the trash releases toxic chemicals including lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury, and so much more, which can cause disastrous health effects on the populations that live near those trash sites.
Fortunately, Franziska Kerber — a university student at FH Joanneum in Graz, Austria — has dreamed up a solution that helps carve away at that behemoth problem: electronics made out of recyclable, dissolvable paper.
On September 11, Kerber’s invention “Pape” — or Paper Electronics — earned global recognition when it was named a national winner of the 2024 James Dyson Awards.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/db778b674a8117175d8e1084c46ecd5e/9d6530ea1ed9cbf4-b3/s540x810/4a697065839dca5bb39cc5c9a7438ed77b54c69c.jpg)
When she entered the scientific competition, Kerber demonstrated her invention with the creation of several small electronics made out of paper materials, including a fully-functional WiFi router and smoke detector.
“Small electronic devices are especially prone to ending up in household waste due to unclear disposal systems and their small size, so there is significant potential to develop a more user-friendly end-of-life system,” Kerber wrote on the James Dyson Award website.
“With this in mind, I aimed to move beyond a simple recycling solution to a circular one, ensuring long-term sustainability.”
Kerber’s invention hinges on crafting a dissolvable and recyclable PCB board out of compressed “paper pulp.”
A printed circuit board (PCB) is a board that can be found in nearly all modern electronic devices, like phones, tablets, and smartwatches.
But even companies that have started incorporating a “dissolution” step into the end life of their products require deconstruction to break down and recover the PCB board before it can be recycled.
With Kerber’s PAPE products, users don’t need to take the device apart to recycle it.
“By implementing a user-friendly return option, manufacturers can efficiently dissolve all returned items, potentially reusing electronic components,” Kerber explained.
“Rapidly advancing technology, which forms the core of many devices, becomes obsolete much faster than the structural elements, which are often made from plastics that can last thousands of years,” Kerber poses.
PAPE, Kerber says, has a “designed end-of-life system” which anticipates obsolescence.
“Does anyone want to use a thousand-year-old computer?” Kerber asks. “Of course not. … This ensures a sustainable and reliable system without hindering technological advancement.”"

I’m getting it figured out faster than I expected, which is nice. the biggest roadblock at this point are the two different types of mystery transistors. one is a metal can that only says 3BX3 and has a 4th pin that has been cut off, the other is this yellow one ⬆️. luckily it seems like they’re all related to the buffered bypass, which I would exclude from my version anyway.

pretty exciting that the dual op amp used in the Crock DS-4 Supra Distortion is comparable to a TL082. (it says 083 but the 083 is the same dual op amp as the 082 with an additional shutdown function in a 14-pin package, and I only need the two op amps in an 8-pin config, which the 082 is.) And I’m already using the TL082 as the op amps in my pedal, ASD! Tracing, documenting and breadboarding my own clone of the DS-4 is going to be my next project while I wait for the second batch of pink ASD enclosures to get painted and printed up
#now I just need to be able to focus enough to watch tutorial videos on how to make a schematic and pcb file#i want to learn so bad but I get so bored when I try to watch any software tutorials i regress into a terrible student

Things my bio prof has said out of context:
"Don't drink petrol. But if you do, don't say that I told you to drink it."
"The snakes here are extremely venomous it doesn't matter if you're pcm or pcb or pcmb student. if you get bitten by a snake, you'll die. But don't be scared, it's only your first day."
"The next time you think about how you studied for six months but got no result, imagine your parents' situation- they raised a kid for 17 years and got no good result out of it."
"So a boy drank 2 litres of pepsi in one sitting and died. My advice is to not drink 2 litres of pepsi in one sitting, but if you absolutely have to, don't say I told you to do it."
"I didn't say that they should die, I just said they shouldn't live."
"In 2020, the only things in my lab that DIDN'T get covid were my zebrafish."
"People with glasses are unfit for living in the Darwinian "survival of the fittest" thing. So if you wear glasses, you'll probably die." (he said, as a man with glasses. bonus: a guy with glasses wanted to ask a doubt about that, but ended up removing his glasses before he stood up and asked because of this tangent)
there's probably more things he said, but I unfortunately can't remember them off the top of my head right now. but the thing is- he says all of this with a completely straight face and it is impossible to not laugh at it at all.

ok so
ive seen people do this and it works for them, so i thought why not?
hi im a girl with a name you've probably never heard in your life, i might have adhd i dont know, and i cant seem to concentrate on studying for the life of it so this is my last resort.
i'm currently in the 10th grade (india) and if you're an indian you know that 10th is hell. we have our board examinations that determine which stream we are going to take.
as you know (and if you dont) in india we have 5 streams after 10th grade- PCM (physics, chemistry, maths), PCB (physics, chemistry, biology), Commerce, Humanities, and PCMB (Physics, chemistry, maths and science). people usually prefer pcm and pcb since it'll get their child into medical and engineering colleges. in india we're really big on engineering and medical. its as if we cant stop producing engineers who have no will to live and doctors who cannot seem to die however much they try. Commerce is for the buisness people, and Humanities is for the 'faliures'. lemme tell you something. right now, this world is overflowing with science stream students who cant find jobs. but do you know who can? humanities and commerce students. but the people here just dont seem to understand that. if you didn't notice by now, im planning to take humanities in the 11th grade. what im going to do next? i dont know. but i sure as hell know im not wasting my time studying subjects im not good at. at least with humanities i can get good grades and get into a good college.
anyways onto the board examinations. boards start on 15th feb, and right now im giving my pre-boards, theyre kind of like practice for boards but a 100 times harder than actual boards.
i have my english preboards tommorrow, and guess what? ive studied only for 5 hours, giving a 3 hour practice paper and the next two hours revising. i'm good at english, so i'll score. but i need to stop this habit of procrastination. that's why im building a blog.
even though nobody reads this, i dont care. i'm gonna mark my progress here, preferably each and every day.
and if someone does read it, please help my hold myself accountable.
i have 35 days left till my first final examination. the countdown starts now

Colmena or "Hive" (2024) by Gustavo Medina Tanco plus a team of 200 students, from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). This will be the first Mexican mission to the moon, carried aboard Astrobotic's Peregrine Lunar Lander launched on January 8th 2024, arriving on February 23rd. "The COLMENA Project, or “hive” in English, will involve a self-organized swarm of five robots, each weighing less than 60 grams and measuring just 12 centimeters in diameter, each equipped with a small solar panel. Inside the robots is a single, flexible PCB containing power conditioning, control, communications, monitoring, interface connector, arming and tripping, trip mechanism and grounding and bonding subsystems. The robots will autonomously navigate themselves to achieve electrical connectivity by joining their panels together to make a larger solar panel. The project will demonstrate how feasible it may be to build structures on planetary surfaces with robot swarms." – UNAM researchers to send micro-robots to the moon, The Robot Report, Brianna Wessling.
UPDATE: The Peregrine Lander began venting fuel soon after launch, making it difficult for Astrobotic to stabilise the spacecraft. The resulting loss of fuel means that it cannot attempt a moon landing.
