an alchemy of ore & eu de parfum : how i imagine cybertronians react to human perfume (afab!reader) (nsfw!)
Tumblr media
most of the lost light crew only knew about it in passing. rumor was that before the war, the wealthy would import organic plants from off-worlds to extract their oils: steam distillation, boiling, maceration. of course, it wasn't very popular when the planet's atmosphere lacked the proper gases. without volatile elements in the air like oxygen, the exotic scents hardly smelled like anything. it didn't stick against their armors the way it clings onto organic skin. so it became a short-lived experiment that barely dented the surface of the planet's long history of achievements. mechs, trying to replicate organic perfume. it sounded ridiculous.
until perceptor caught a whiff of it: phantom light, brushing against his olfactory sensors. he lifted his helm, finally compelled to tear his optics away from the datapad to look at the human liaison. he inhaled experimentally, failing to be discreet. embarrassed, you tell him it's the new bottle of body wash you've tried: a mixture of wild violets and pink hibiscus. do you like it?  he thinks of strange fragile flowers, drifting under the wind. perceptor nearly missed the question, slowly nodding as you leaned closer in worry. it took the mech a lot of self-restraint to not pull you flush against him when the new, alien fragrance hits him square in the chassis like a bullet.
minimus drags his human's wrist across his intake, peppering light kisses along the skin. it was where the sweet, smoky odor was strongest, luring him closer. with you sprawled across his lap: trembling, laughing at the ticklish sensation, minimus couldn't contain the small, helpless groan that escaped him. shamelessly tipping your chin down to press your lips against his. the fragrance of mandarin and jasmine, crowding the space between your bodies.  the scientist hovered above your shoulders, mouthguard grazing the junction where your neck meets your jaw. brainstorm tightened his grip against your wrists, pining it above your head. he wants to melt into you, to drown in the overwhelming scent of amber. tyrax, benzoin; he knows they're just a cluster of chemical reactions coming to life along the curve of your collarbones. bonds breaking and fracturing to release something tangy, saccharine. but you're telling him that bulgarian rose, sandalwood — foreign, outlandish names of floras he'd never heard about before was making you smell celestial ? he was the universe's biggest heathen, but primus, save him. you were wiggling underneath his frame, back flat against the pristine table. he says he wants to run a few experiments, noticing how your pupils respond by widening, skin prickling with excitement.
he's trying to be gentle, servos encasing your hip to lower you down his spike. megatron watches as you take him, inch by inch. with your back pressed against his chest plate, he could feel the thrum of his spark against the line of your spine as it bows and curves in pleasure. as you spread your legs further to sink further, he rewards you with a kiss — brushing your hair aside to press his intake against the pulse point beneath your ear. and he tastes it, or rather, breathes it in. he didn't need to, but when your sweat mixes itself with the perfume you always wore: bergamot and peony, he inhales and loses himself even more.
the habsuite reeked of sex, and it crowded the air: humid and heavy, whirl's optic nearly offlined at how obscenely wet you were around his spike. already drunk on your pheromones. so when he lifted both your legs higher — up to his shoulders — to fit himself up to the hilt, whirl didn't expect to catch a whiff of your perfume around your ankles. you whined, a high-pitched, desperate sound, when he stopped thrusting to press his enstril against your achilles heel. that was enough for him to snap. he hoisted you up into a mating press, driving into you with a new kind of vigor. 'you did this on purpose', he emphasized by roughly grabbing your ass to push further into your already trembling cunt. causing you to moan into the dark. 'you knew we'd end up here. like this. filthy, little —'
sicilian mandarin and citrus musk. you made a mental note to yourself to wear the combination around your lover more often.

foods to heal the soul & body 🦪 ~~
all fruit & berries — raspberries, blueberries, blackberries….. freshly picked, ideally, in a little wicker basket…. pair with live yogurt or kefir and nuts and seeds to eat like a fairy or bird-like creature……
organic vegetables of all colours — kale, squash, mushrooms, carrots, edamame, potato, beetroot, chard, (baby) cucumber, sweetcorn, peppers — for beautiful salads with chickpea hummus and oils and tofu and olives and feta cheese….
seasonal treats for winter : bûche de noël and marzipan fruit and crystallised petals and hot milk with honey like a child before bedtime and pink heart biscuits for valentine’s day….
for autumn : toffee apples and mulled wine and syrupy coffee and oat porridge with banana in the morning and hearty seasonal soup with hot soft bread to break and share… .
for spring : hot cross buns with (homemade) cherry jam and simmel cake and chocolate rabbits with gold foil and eggs to paint….
for summer : lychees and watermelon and white peaches and figs off trees and ice cream by the seaside and freshly caught fish stewed with cherry tomato and herbs and onion and lentils…
little garnishes — edible flowers, parsley, pomegranate seeds, pistachio, rosemary and thyme, lavender lemongrass….
and above all, whatever brings joy alongside sustenance — dates stuffed with almond butter, italian fettuccine in antique bowls, birthday cake and non-birthday cake, oysters, melon cut out to look like stars, sushi and sashimi, jellies in fanciful moulds, crepes from french markets and stroopwafles from dutch markets…. etc.

RECIPE: Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Chimichurri (from Meal Prep Magic by Catherine McCord)
It was in Argentina where I began my love affair with chimichurri; a pot of it accompanied whatever meat we were eating. Just the thought of pairing it with pork tenderloin makes me giddy.
PREP TIME: 15 minutes, plus 1 to 2 hours for marinating COOK TIME: 15 minutes SERVES: 4 to 6
¼ cup (60 ml) Dijon mustard
½ cup (120 ml) apple cider vinegar
3 tablespoons light or dark brown sugar
8 cloves garlic, minced
⅓ cup (75 ml) plus 2 tablespoons olive oil
1½ teaspoons kosher salt
2 to 2½ pounds (910 g to 1.2 kg) pork tenderloin, fat and silver skin removed
½ cup (15 g) packed fresh cilantro
½ cup (15 g) packed flat- or curly-leaf parsley
1 small shallot, peeled
2 tablespoons red or white wine vinegar
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
Pinch crushed red pepper
Freshly ground black pepper
Place the Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, half of the garlic, 2 tablespoons of the olive oil, and 1 teaspoon salt in a large zip-top bag. Squish the bag to mix the marinade. Add the pork tenderloin and use your hand on the outside of the bag to move the marinade around the pork. Marinate for 1 to hours at room temperature or overnight in the refrigerator.
To make the chimichurri, in a food processor, place the cilantro, parsley, remaining garlic, shallot, the remaining ⅓ cup (75 ml) olive oil, the red or white wine vinegar, lime juice, crushed red pepper, remaining ½ teaspoon salt, and black pepper and pulse until finely chopped.
Heat a grill to medium heat. Grill the marinated pork on several sides for a total of 14 to 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature is 135 to 140°F (55 to 60°C) when checked with an instant-read thermometer inserted in the thickest part of the meat. (Alternatively, you can use a cast-iron skillet to roast the pork. Heat over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Sear the pork all over for a total of 6 minutes. Transfer the pan to a 400°F (205°C) oven and roast for 15 to 20 minutes.)
Allow the pork to rest for at least 10 minutes to allow the juices to settle before slicing. Use a sharp knife to cut pork on a bias into ½-inch (12 mm) slices and top with the chimichurri sauce.
Make sure not to overcook the pork. Pork should never be cooked to more than 135 to 140°F (55 to 60°C). You want the internal color to be light pink.
Make double the amount of chimichurri sauce to serve with fish, shrimp, chicken, or steak later that week.
TO ENJOY LATER The cooked pork can be cooled and refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Enjoy at room temperature or warm for 30 seconds in the microwave. Store the chimichurri in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days, or freeze in ice cube trays then transfer to labeled zip-top bags for up to 4 months.
PREP IN ADVANCE Place the zip-top bag of the pork in its marinade in the freezer for up to 3 months. When ready to cook, place the pork chops in the zip-top bag in the refrigerator to thaw overnight; cook as directed.

Favorites of mine from Fatima Ronquillo recent work:
The Artist’s Eye and Hand with Jasmines and Sweet Peas 7×5 inches, oil on linen on aluminum panel, painted in 2022
Child with Armadillo and Golden-cheeked Warbler 36×30 inches, oil on aluminum panel, painted in 2022
These are both from her "Borderlands" series, exploring "in-between moments". She includes the Golden-cheeked Warbler in many of her works, an endangered species that could be gone soon.
I am so enchanted by her work: The artist's eye --- a mirrored ring --- an artist married to her own vision --- a lover's eye, loving her own taste, her own desire and ability to create her work ---- wearing her eye to say that she loves the world around her through her "eye"---using the hand to paint the hand---the artist's hand as god's hand---this work and her own body and flowers arising from interconnected emergent creation----meeting the gaze of the artist so directly calling me to see how I am always asked to meet her gaze when shown her work
also just the perfect colors and strokes used to paint her eye, the perfect striking little periwinkle highlight, and her bright red legible but organic signature
and every facet of the armadillo (so similar to how the pearls are painted)---each flower so thoughtfully rendered, nothing taken for granted---the mysterious smooth foreground, like the child stands on the flesh of a giant---the dusk sky so muted but with so many colors hiding in it---the fire so wispy, has it gone out? is fire starting to rain down but inferno hasn't caught yet?---the child's hand tucked below and around the wing --- the bright red only shared by Fatima's signature and the red pepper necklace (a cornicello?)---improbable gravity of the pink ribbon---the orange tulip near the bottom of the dress lifting up off it---my sense that this moment is not fantasy but so very real, just in a way where it can only exist a moment (no justification for this I just feel it)

2 Delicious and Healthy Recipes for a PCOD Diet
Tumblr media
Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) also known as PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) is a hormonal disorder that affects many women of reproductive age. Managing PCOD often requires a combination of lifestyle changes, including regular physical activity and a diet rich in nutrients that help regulate hormones, reduce inflammation, and stabilize blood sugar levels.
Consuming the right food can play a crucial role in relieving symptoms such as irregular periods, weight gain, and insulin resistance. These 4 recipes are low in refined carbs and sugars and packed with nutrients, fibre, lean proteins, and healthy fats that support hormonal balance and overall health.
2 quick and delicious recipes for PCOD/PCOS Diet.
1. Quinoa (buy quinoa) and Vegetable Stir-Fry
Quinoa is a high-protein grain that is rich in fibre which makes it an excellent choice for those with PCOD. This quinoa and exotic vegetables (buy exotic vegetables) stir-fry is packed with colourful veggies, healthy fats, and lean protein, providing a balanced meal that keeps the blood sugar levels stable.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup quinoa
- 2 cups water or vegetable broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or organic cold pressed oils
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1/2 cup broccoli florets
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce or tamari
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Rinse the quinoa under cold water and combine it with water or broth in a saucepan. Cook the quinoa just as you cook rice.
2. In a pan, heat the olive oil or organic cold pressed oils over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and let it cook for about 3-4 minutes.
3. Add the bell pepper, or any other exotic vegetables of your choice to the pan. Stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are fully cooked.
4. Add himalayan pink salt (buy himalayan pink salt), black pepper powder and soy sauce to the veggies. Please soy sauce if your choice, you can add any other sauce or chutney as per your liking.
4. Once the veggies are cooked, add cooked quinoa and season it with parsley or cilantro.
2. Chia Seed Pudding with Kashmiri Mamra Almonds / Badam
Chia seeds are a superfood loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, fibre, and protein, which can help manage insulin levels and support hormone regulation. This chia seed pudding is a perfect breakfast or snack option for women with PCOD.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup chia seeds (Soak it overnight)
- 1 cup Kashmiri Mamra Almonds / Badam (soaked in milk overnight)
- Apples or sliced fruit for topping
-1 Teaspoon Honey
- 1 tablespoon chopped nuts (almonds or walnuts)
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, combine soaked chia seeds, almonds soaked in milk, honey and chopped organic fruits of your choice. I would suggest apples and dates are a must.
2. Stir well to ensure the chia seeds are evenly distributed.
3. Since the chia seeds are already soaked overnight, they are ready to eat. The ideal time to eat chia pudding with almonds is during breakfast because it is high in fibre and proteins and super low in calories ideal for managing weight.
Conclusion: Managing PCOD through diet involves making smart food choices that help regulate blood sugar, reduce inflammation, and support overall hormonal health. These two recipes: Quinoa and Vegetable Stir-Fry, Chia Seed Pudding are not only nutritious but also delicious. They provide the nutrients needed to manage PCOD symptoms while keeping meals enjoyable.

Creamy Turkey Mushroom Soup
Prep time: 15 minutes Cook time: 15-20 minutes Serves: 6
Ingredients:
2 T. extra virgin olive oil ½ c. red onion, diced small 1 large stalks celery, diced small 1. c. white mushrooms, chopped 1 lb. ground turkey (85% lean) 1 T. Italian seasoning ½ t. crushed red pepper flakes ½ t. garlic powder ½ t. onion powder Sea salt and black pepper, to taste 6 c. chicken broth, preferably organic ½ c. heavy cream, tempered* 1 12-oz. bag frozen riced cauliflower 2 c. Italian blend cheese, shredded, divided 3 T. fresh parsley, finely chopped
*To prevent curdling, add a small of hot liquid from skillet to heavy cream before adding it to the soup.
Directions: 1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and celery and sauté, stirring frequently, until the veggies are soft, approximately 4-5 minutes.
Add the mushrooms, ground turkey, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and onion powder to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper, to taste. Cook, stirring frequently, until the turkey is no longer pink and the mushrooms start to release their juices, approximately 5-7 minutes.
Reduce heat to medium and add chicken stock. Simmer for 2-3 minutes or until heated through. Add a spoonful of the hot liquid to the heavy cream to temper it before adding it to the skillet, as well. Stir to combine and simmer for another 1-2 minutes.
Add frozen cauliflower rice and 1½ cups of the shredded cheese to skillet and stir to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until cauliflower is heated through and cheese is completely melted. Taste and adjust seasonings, as desired.
Remove from heat and transfer to individual soup bowls. To serve, top each bowl with remaining cheese and fresh parsley, if desired. Enjoy!
