If you have the social influence to be able to redefine yourself as "oppressed" and enforce that definition, you're not "oppressed."
If you have everyone from government, legacy media, entertainment, industry and academia pushing your mantras, talking points, narratives and "representation," you're not "oppressed," you're the ruling overclass.
You can't be both the "oppressed" and the one doing the oppressing at the same time.

i feel like we could have productive conversations about bigotry from white gays and cis/het women if people didn’t just use those privileged identities as a cover for their own misogyny or homophobia or whatever. like yeah, cishet women have a tendency to make queer women feel uncomfortable and excluded, but saying “straight women will say things like [harmless joke] and then wonder why men assault them” is still misogyny! “white gays deserve to be made fun of when they do the limp wrist” is still homophobia! you cannot just plug a privileged identity in front of a marginalized one to make whatever you’re saying okay. ive seen this trend so much from straight and white men complaining about straight and white women. like does the misogyny feel better when you’re pretending its a criticism of privilege? a privilege you also possess? curious!

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭61‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Anyone who demands a fucking fully-sourced answer to everything wrong before they’ll listen to you say it’s wrong and needs to change is simply trying to shut you up.
They’re not going to listen to your thesis on how to change it. They’ll claim it’s “unrealistic” or “against their free speech” or “I’m not reading all that”.
They’re trying to stop you talking to other people who know shit needs to change and working together to change it in a way that fulfils all your needs.
Complain. Scream. Cry.
It’s not only for the most marginalised and oppressed people to find all the answers to everything wrong with our fucked-up society while dealing with the full brunt of oppression and marginalisation.

Trying my hand at new patches. One being for an oppressed people and the other for a dear friend and her husband. I'm still tweaking both but I'm pretty happy with these first passes!
