Off-brand but it needs to be said:

Éomer loved his people, and especially his king.

And it’s so beautifully written I just want to explode. Allow me to ramble:

He rebelled against his king’s orders (who was under the influence of Saruman at this point I believe) in order to ride out to protect his land and people—which obviously also resulted in him meeting the three of the fellowship but that’s besides the point— because he knew there was evil afoot and he would not just let it be.

He returned to Edoras with full knowledge of this and was imprisoned for his rebellion (by the counsel of Grima, of course).

And this isn’t my main point, but Gandalf had some words to say about this:

“A man may love you and yet not love Wormtongue or his counsels,”

EXACTLY; anyway

And then the moment of all moments for me is when Théoden calls for his sword and Éomer is immediately there (brought by Hàma, of course), offering his own sword to his king, as he kneels before him without any armor or other weaponry, just purely himself, and says,

“Take this, dear lord! It was ever at your service.”

And that’s not even the end of it!!

As Hàma’s trying to explain why he gave his man fresh out of prison a sword, Éomer steps in, saying that he asked for it only:

“To lay at your feet, my lord.”

when I tell you there are simply no words to even describe it—

Oh, Éomer, crowned King of the Mark by his king who lay dying on the Pelennor.

I could say so much more about this, especially about all the words exchanged between him and Aragorn, but I’ll leave it there.

Tolkien simply makes me weep.

I wonder if anyone else feels like this

One of the worst feelings as someone who is autistic (from my perspective) is going to the store to buy all the foods you like and finding out the brand you usually buy is out of stock. So you have to either substitute it or leave it be. But that same food that's out of stock just so happens to be your current favourite food that you'll ve eating for months straight.

And so you decide to substitute it, and have regrets because "what if i don't like it" "what if it doesn't taste the same" "what if the ingredients aren't the same"

I’m extremely picky and sensitive to what I eat. If it feel weird or taste bad, I can’t eat it at all. What’s worse is that when I order fast food, I’ll find a little piece of lettuce (like on a taco), or something and refuse to eat anymore. I’m afraid it’s going to have more of that stuff. I hate being so picky. It mainly seems to be more about texture to me. If a food feels weird or wrong in my mouth, I cannot eat it. I can’t. And I won’t. It ruins my meal.

Sorry about the long rambling. Yes, I have experienced this before. I usually wait until it comes back in stock. Trying off-brand food kinda scares me a bit.

I’m sure many more have been through similar experiences. Maybe some could share? There’s no obligation of course.

The one ingredient I learned to never cheap out on was soy sauce.

You go down the Asian cuisine aisle of the local grocery store, and you think, “They’ll probably be almost the same. How hard is it to mess up liquid sodium??” but you're wrong. There are two completely different choices in the exact same packaging

Soy Sauce (Name Brand)

and

Brown Salty Water (Store Brand)

They're both off brand LEGOs because I can't afford actual LEGOs most of the time, but I love them (although, the set Luffy came with doesn't have either Usopp or Jinbe, so that's a bit upsetting)

I had to step back for a while because her sail was giving me a hard time, but I finally finished today! This is a wonderful way to start off this year
