There are no wolves in england. Modernity subdued them, and killed them all. But sometimes the ancient howls come back to those forests of trees that are now forests of stone to inflict the same fear that never left, and will never leave.

There are wolves in england, linked to their forests, but tamed by the present. Brought from other lands as a way to fix the errors of modernity.

Bersicker may be a wolf yes, but he is a wolf raised in a modern (for the victorians) zoo. He gets his breakfast from human hands, he has never fought for his survival, and his first instinct after Dracula gets rid of him is to go back to mister Bilder in broad daylight instead of hiding.

Even if Dracula used him, and wounded him in his attack to the Westenra household Bersicker still wanted to go back to his home.

Not the now vanished forests, nor the freedom of open landscapes, but the zoo. Moreover, unlike poor Lucy who suffered a string of errors that left her remaining life in chaos, Bersicker's caretaker was there waiting for him with open arms, not judging him for his escape, but instead glad that he came back.

It makes me think of Jonathan, and how he has the single objective of coming back to Mina. After suffering being used, then discharged by Dracula, Jonathan walked and walked through unfamiliar places, wounded and confused, with a single goal in mind: get back to Mina.

And Bersicker did the same. The poor tamed wolf was used then discharged by Dracula, left with wounds all of over his head, and walked until he went back to the zoo. And they are there, both of Mr. And Mrs. Bilder, glad to see him alive again.

There are no natives wolves in england, modernity killed them all.

People acting like animals should have a use or a purpose so that they have the right to continue existing is one of the most regressive and annoying things that I keep seeing fucking EVERYWHERE.

Animals should be allowed to live and are important for the simple fact that they are here and alive. You see it a lot with insects. Just because they are personally annoying to you doesn't mean they are less deserving of life. Everything interacts with everything else to keep the whole world ticking around, and it is not up to us to upset that. So what if mosquitoes annoy you. I don't give a shit. They shouldn't be blanket exterminated because of this. Not to mention the fact that they are important. They are pollinators, food for other animals, but even if they weren't, even if they just did nothing, that wouldn't mean they shouldn't be allowed to exist. What gives you the authority to decide that, huh? Why are you so special?

This goes for humans too, by the way. Why must a person contribute or work or whatever to be worthy of being loved and supported? They're alive, and therefore have inherent value. If you think that isn't enough, then you are the problem. Have some god damn compassion, or failing that, just keep quiet.

Decided to polish some jacket designs!

Emmet originally received a strait from the League after they thought he posed a safety risk to others and mandated him to wear it. Big surprise, they literally just went to a Unovan hospital and asked if they had any of the old jackets lying around. It's ill-fitting and unpleasant, not to mention the hasty edits they made to his uniform to act as a secondary restraint looks awful. As much as he is still operating as usual, having to walk around in the strait is humiliating and dehumanizing, especially because of the stares from other people.

Of course this crime against dignity and fashion had to be corrected, so Elesa called her designers and offered to make the League Council a more appropriate uniform for him. The only rule given was that it must still restrain as well as the original straitjacket, so Elesa ended up modelling the jacket after a vest and the secondary restraint after a double-breasted greatcoat. It's meant to look like clothing, more like everyday wear than something out of an asylum. It also uses hand covers (i.e. socks) instead of a grossly oversized sleeve to keep the hands restrained.

It resolves a lot of the issues Emmet had with the original, namely that it blends in with the crowd rather than making him stick out. It also has an air of professionalism and formality that the original didn't have. He's much more willing to wear it and keep it on, as well as being more comfortable in it.

I'm struggling to describe this in sentences so as for the differences:

League Straitjacket:

actual retired straitjacket from hospital storage

made of old canvas and leather

uses oversized belted sleeves to restrain arms

uses belts and buckles to restrain upper arms and tighten back

can't fit anything thicker than a tank top underneath

Elesa's Modified Straitvest:

bespoke articles custom tailored to Emmet's measurements

made from stiff cotton and fabric straps

uses belted cuffs and hand covers to restrain arms

uses straps and locking slide buckles to restrain upper arms and tighten back

able to fit a collared shirt underneath

Elesa's outfit also has the added bonus of being more breathable, soft, and being able to function as regular clothes.

Swan Lake adaptation where Odette and her assorted other maidens are cursed same as always (swans during the day, human again between midnight and dawn) BUT there's also just some random wild swans caught up in the curse and they are their normal swan selves during the day and turn into humans at night, but still with swan brains.

So the plot is basically the same except that there's a couple of these humanized swans hanging around most of the time who A. see Odette and the maidens as part of their flock and are protective B. are swans and therefore crave violence at all times
