A Chance.

A stupid, silly, fantasy-fixated part of me really believed i may have a chance. But i was acting as a thief, taking what was not mine to have - to experience, to indulge in. He is not mine; and never will be. It is ruthless, not just on ones self but the other party too, to desire someone so fleetingly - but simultaneously feel as though your every emotion hinges on their interest in you. To try and act as though every shared word is frivolous, when deep inside it feels as though your heart has ached for eons to grasp at the mere chance to converse with someone like this. His words ensnarled my desperate consciousness like a pronged hook - for it ached while the metal was plunged into my flesh, but the searing pain of its retraction was far worse.

A chance - however fleeting, was what i believed i had.

I was wrong, so tremendously wrong. So much so that my cheeks streak with tears over something so temporary to him but so life changing to me.
