After a few shots of vodka, my roommates and I came up with a chaotic fancast for the marauders. I have notes but there's literally no context besides random shit written down and I figure it would be criminal to not share this absolute trainwreck with everyone so here it is... Chaotic Marauder Fancast brought to you by drunken thoughts.

Marauders

Tom Hiddleston as Sirius Black

Tom Hiddleston would be a good option to play Sirius Black. He has the capability of having a boyish attitude and sass that Sirius has become known for. Also, Adam. Nuff said.

Rami Malek as James Potter

Look at him. He also has the capability of coming up with that sass and attitude. Imagine him riding a broomstick in a quidditch uniform and that is all.

Robert Sheehan as Remus Lupin

This man could play all of the characters, but he is best suited for Remus Lupin. Unkempt look but in an attractive way. Looks like he could be a werewolf. A lot of the same Remus Lupin mannerisms.

Andrew Scott as Peter Pettigrew

A short little Irish man with a very good skill for acting a villain that's cunning and sneaky and that's why he would be a good option. He would be a very good actor to portray the change from friend to enemy.

Slytherin Skittles

Aidan Gallagher as Regulus Black

Aidan Gallagher has the capability to play an angsty character who's a little bit evil and a little bit good all rolled into one. He's also just got the look and the vibe that Regulus is kind of become known for.

David Tennant as Barty Crouch Jr.

This is partially because when he played Barty in the 4th movie, he didn't get nearly enough screen time in my opinion but the other part of it is because, after watching lots of his filmography, I seriously can't think of anyone better to play it. Unfortunately we would need to make him like 30 years younger and we don't have a time machine.

Michael Sheen as Evan Rosier

I told you it would be chaotic. Maybe it's because I can't see David Tennant without Michael Sheen anymore after GO and Staged but he's also quite similar to Evan in my mind and I think he would play the character very well. Unfortunately... still no time machine tho.

Lisa Kudrow as Pandora Rosier

I mean I was watching Friends and she kinda just stuck out to me and that is why she is now Pandora. I think Lisa has the capability to play someone as wonderful, beautiful and quirky as Pandora. Also I think it would be so sweet and interesting to watch Michael and Lisa play siblings.

Valkyries

(I will admit and say that I don't know nearly enough about the Valkyries so my roommates were the ones that came up these)

Florence Pugh as Marlene McKinnon

I don't really think this one needs explaining but I do think she would be best to play Marlene McKinnon. She's got a fabulous look that would suit Marlene well especially with the fanart seen of her. I mean just look at her.

Nina Sosanya as Dorcas Meadowes

Nina's got the spunk and the attitude that Dorcas has. Mainly pulling from her performance in both GO1 and GO2, I think she is just the most fitting to play Dorcas and would act very well alongside David and Michael (as we've seen) but I think would act very well alongside Florence and Robert.

Emmy Raver-Lampman as Mary MacDonald

Has the capability to play a sweet character but could turn deadly and horrible in 0.5 seconds and that's stunning for her and would work very well for Mary. Also the depths from her pain and everything of her friends dying and then eventually obliviating her memory.

Scarlett Johansson as Lily Evans

Scarlett has the attitude of Lily Evans in real life and honestly she would be stunning. I could totally see James falling in love with Lily if she looked like Scarlett which is one of the main reasons we've cast her as Lily.

Now, we all think that the original fancast that is the most popular is perfect and stunning. This is just some brainrot. Anyway, that is all.

DATES ALPHABET; rhekker edition!

i just miss these guys so bad. here’s what (i believe) we could’ve had <3

A - Amusement Park / Arcade

the two go to Navy Pier one evening after work, during the winter when it's quiet, wanting the best games to themselves. coonor's desperate to show ava how to play all the games and all the crappy pier food from his childhood. however, ava surprises him with her hook-a-duck talents, to which he accuses her of cheating at (her response? "if you were a good surgeon, you'd understand.")

B - Biking / Brunch

they're both not big on brunch, so they only really go when claire and her husband invite them. they make sure to order very different options, just so they can steal from each other.

C - Candlelit Dinner / Cabin Getaway

100% on the candlelit dinner! connor books some fancy place in uptown chicago, just so he and ava can dress up for it. however, a last-minute surgery comes up and they have to cancel; to make up for it, ava snags a table on the hospital terrace, decorating it with candles. it may not be caviar and champagne, but some cafeteria food and just each other's company can make up for it.

D - Dinner Cruise / Drive-in Movie

they may not seem like the couple for a drive-in movie. ava forces connor to go, telling him it's "the only way i'll ever experience proper american culture!", to which he begrudgingly goes along with. let's just say that a lot more happens between them than just watching the movie..

E - Eiffel Tower / Escape Room

why wine and dine in chicago when you can do it on top of the eiffel tower? they both take furlough from work to go there for their second anniversary. it's a second take of one of their failed candlelit dinners, and it's better than either could imagine.

F - Football Game / Fireworks

when marcel hosts a 4th of july BBQ, they go together, hand in hand. it's the first time they've told their coworkers together, and whilst it doesn't come as a shock to some, they're all still supportive and excited. as the fireworks burst in the sky into pretty patterns, ava finds herself in connor's arms; everything is just perfect.

G - Gala / Glamping

gala dates happen quite often, mainly because of connor's social status. neither want to go, it's all for appearances. however, it is fun when they get home and get to rip each other's clothes off.

H - Hockey Match / Harvest festival

connor scores some pretty good tickets for his favourite team and decides to take ava. it's a decent game; of course it's great when your team wins, but what's even better is seeing your girlfriend in your sports sweatshirt.

I - Interior Design Expo / Italian Restaurant

when claire falls ill and is unable to attend an expo, the two take the invites from her. instead of taking it seriously and finding new retailer for D&R, they spend the day fantasising how they'd decorate a place they buy together.

J - Jacuzzi / Jogging

jaccuzis are a great way to relax, especially when your job is so stressful. although, connor does find it hard to relax when ava looks so good in her new bikini..

K - Kayaking / Kickboxing

when summer finally hits chicago, the two make a plan to go to the beach, where they go kayaking for the first time. neither are very good at it (both trying to be in control of where they go, which leads to their usual banter), but they do find some cool caves and crevices.

L - Lakeside Getaway / Live Music

when ava wins a trip away during a gala auction, they immediately take time off to go. it's only for the weekend, so they try and fill it with as many activities as possible. however, not a lot get done; it's mainly fishing, drinking, and of course, sex. but hey, who could want more?

M - Museum / Masquerade

Sometimes it's best just to spend quiet time with each other. he two walk around hand in hand, simply glad to be in each other's presence. it all makes a change from the business of Med.

N - Nightclub / Nine Pin Bowling

it starts off fun, but quickly escalates into a competition. there's no need for it - they just can't help but to bicker over who's the better bowler (spoiler; it's ava). maybe it's best not to go bowling when you're both so competitive..

O - Observatory / Orchestra Concert

it's another date they attend for the appearances, but they end up enjoying it more than they thought.

P - Picnic / Photoshoot

when the weather is good, they go for picnics in the park, stretched out on the blanket and enjoying being with each other, finally free from their stress of work.

Q - Quiz Night / Quiet Time

when molly's hosts a quiz night, connor and ava decided to team up with the coworkers. but what confuses everyone, though, is when they go on seperate teams - they tell their coworkers that they "don't want to scare you with our intelligence". everything goes well until the final round, when connor surprises ava with his knowledge on crappy reality shows.

R - Resort Weekend / Road Trip

it's a double date with claire and her husband, but it doesn't mean they have to spend every waking second with them. connor and ava go off to do their own thing, which includes a lot of typical couple activities.

S - Spa Day / Swimming

this ties into their resort weekend trip. it's a good day for them, finally feeling relief from the recent stressors at work. but it's hard to keep it PG-13 and not get caught.

T - Tiki Bar / Tango Lessons

this date happens as a re-do after ava misses connor's leaving party, but instead of celebrating someone moving on, they celebrate moving in together. it's gonna result in a massive hangovers the next day, but it's worth it.

U - Upscale Dining / Unplugged Date

sometimes it's better to just escape the real world (AKA electronics) and be with each other. whilst it could be reading or spending time with one another, they tend to lean towards coffee dates, just the two of them, not having to deal with their pagers going off or endless surgeries.

V - Valentines Day / Volunteer

valentine's days are the ones they go all out for; whilst they attempt to both have clear schedules, it never quite works out. so, it doesn't surprise ava when a bouquet of flowers turn up at work for her, or connor gets home to his apartment to find a new bottle of whiskey. it's the little things.

W - Woodworking / Weekend

weekends off from work are basically dates for them, and mean they can be as lazy as they want. sex in the morning, not getting up until midday, breakfast in bed. it's bliss for them.

X - eXcursions / eXpensive

of course it’s gonna be expensive! connor will go above and beyond to treat ava right up (which she loves). sometimes she’ll try and get the bill, but he always insists. neither are a stranger to expensive gifts either.

Y - Yacht Cruise / Yoga

for their third anniversary, they go on a cruise. but not just any cruise; connor rents one out so it’s just the two of them. it’s a great weekend away, even if neither of them are the best sailors (at least nobody dies!).

Z - Zoo / Zip Lining

they’re both animal lovers, so the Lincoln Park Zoo is sometimes a date. they both love reading the facts and seeing all the different animals. occasionally they’ll do the petting zoo; connor has his phone lock screen as a shot of ava holding a rabbit.

Hmmmm. You know I've always been subconsciously knew that Blue ( rival) had different sprites throughout the game, but I never really took the time to like. Analyze them? And truthfully there isn't much to analyze but I do find it interesting on how the sprites differ from the original rbgy games and FRLG.

So let's start with rbgy. Or rather rbg cause yellow has some slight difference despite its overall same pattern.

This is the sprite to represent Blue from the first 3 battles ( as in the one in the lab, the optional one in viridian city and the one in cerulean city right before nugget bridge). This pretty much captures Blue pretty well. This cocky kid who thinks he's better than you,lmao. Got his signature hand gesture too. This was during the early game, I would say. Where he does probably think " yeah there's no way Red would catch up with me, hur hur".

Then we reach the fourth sprite on the S.S. Anne

This sprite is the sprite that's used for the rest of the game until his champion battle. This one gives such a different vibe than the first one. He looks so much more focused compared to his other sprite. Like he's looking directly as the player this time, PokeBall out, in a semi hunched position getting ready. He doesn't even have a smirk on his face, which I find very interesting. There's many ways to interpret this really, one of which is a simple " the game is telling you your getting to the mid game now". For me personally, I think it reflects on how Blue starts seeing the player. I kinda see it where Blue is starting to realize that Red is catching up, so to speak. That he can't treat them entirely like a joke anymore. He's still gonna talk shit ( the best an 11 year old can anyway) but like. It's a thought at the back of his mind. Especially when he keeps losing, like Red is almost a threat to what he wants. It's also interesting to think about this with the context of " Red and Blue where childhood friends turned rivals". I mean. They were always rivals according to professor oak, but you get what I'm trying to say right? I think this is where the " competition" gets real to blue, and he's taking it as seriously as he can, now with the facade of him being this snarky jerk. Again, that's just my interpretation of it, I'm down to hear others!

And finally....

Champion Blue! This sprite technically makes blue the first champion to have a different outfit compared to their usual sprite, which I find cool. Also this is probably what they used for reference for his look on HGSS. Probably, I don't actually know. I do think it's kinda cute that this implies he went into the elite 4 looking his best hgvhvgvgvcg. Anyway, to the actual analysis. He did it! He became champion! Before Red,too. I know I just said it was cute that Blue had an outfit change for this moment but it still shows his very show boaty nature I think. He wants Red to know he won. He wants everyone to know he won. He worked hard to get where he is and by Arceus he is going to show for it. Here's my thing though. I can't tell if he's smirking or not. I don't think he is, to it's still kinda hard to say? To me anyway. But let's go with the fact that he's not smirking. And like yeah. He's champion. This is the ultimate battle that probably means everything to him and Red. He wants to be serious about this. I just find it interesting how ever since that 4th battle he hasn't had a visible smile or smirk. His words have always been very "Blue" but his facial expressions don't fully convey that? Like his body language doesn't exactly show someone who's overly cocky, and someone who thinks he's at the top of the world, even in his champion battle, with all of that swagger. I dunno if I can accurately write my thoughts down on this but. It's weird to have Blue not smirk. Does that make sense? And not to say that Blue shouldn't be seen as serious but to lose that smirk so quickly as of the 4th battle ( third if you just didn't do the optional battle) is so. Weird. Even if he is taking Red seriously, even if he is starting to see Red as a threat rather than a friend, where's his bravado?

Am I looking way too deeply into this? Yes. Am I done. Nope!

.....oh boy. This is gonna be a bit longer than I thought-

Pokemon Yellow pretty much had the same philosophy of rbg in Blue's sprites, showcasing different poses for different parts of the journey. Where it differs is the second sprite

The second sprite for the 4th (or 3rd) battle and onward his pretty much the same as rbg, expect more polished, I think. And! He's still smirking! As much as I loved over analyzing and theorizing the shit out of his previous sprites, this sprite is way better at conveying Blue as Blue I think. The position still makes it clear that Blue is taking Red more seriously, especially with the PokeBall out, but it doesn't feel as intense as the rbg ones did imo. Though that could also be bc of the coloring. Overall it just better shows Blue character. Again, I still like the shit I wrote before, and honestly it kinda makes me appreciate Blue more, but like. Yeah, this one shows his character better. And it makes this:

Less weird to me. Minus taking away his "champion outfit". How dare they honestly. But anyway, having Blue have his usual smirk throughout the game only to drop it once he has his final battle with Red for champion. Cause like to. To him this fight would literally mean everything. He has to keep it serious. I don't have much to really say other than this pose Blue is in looks like he's just about to throw that PokeBall. I think it's neat given how important this battle is to him.

Now we can finally go to the frlg sprites bc they're kinda weird to me.

This is his sprite for the first three battles. It's. So different compared to the rbgy ones. This this sprite looks more like the sprite that he would have had for his fourth fight. And what's more!

This is his sprite that's used for fourth battle onwards. And I was so confused about this when I saw it cause. What was it trying to convey? Yeah we know that Blue is cocky, but this feels. Odd character wise. Though then I realized that this sprite and the sprite before are like. Switched versions of the rbgy ones ( specifically yellow in terms of characterization). Though I don't want to make it seem likes it's an inherently bad thing. Like it's an odd choice to me, but I can kinda see something with it. With the rbgy sprites, to me, Blue goes from not fully taking the player seriously to realizing " oh shit, Red could beat me I can't have that" to the serious battle that makes or breaks everything. This progression in frlg is like. Starting out on equal terms, but as time goes on Blue just gets more and more cocky until the last moment where you take him off his high horse. At least sprite wise, that's what that story conveys. And honestly I think both are totally fine stories to tell with Blue. I personally like the rbgy sprites better. In terms of character telling I mean. Also I can't stress enough this is just my own interpretation of these sprites that honestly don't really impact the story much. I just found it interesting that Blue actually has different sprites at all at specific points in the plot. Oh wait before I forget

This is the sprite that Blue has for his champion battle. I think he's pointing at the player? Again it's such an interesting vibe in comparison to those before it, but overall it still showcases what it needs to in terms of what the player/Red/Green/Leaf should feel at this very moment. All or nothing, winner takes all, you get it.

Aaaaand yeah. The rbg section kinda stole the show but I think it's good context for the rest of it. I hope this was enjoyable to you all and if you have your own interpretations of Blue's sprites and what they mean, I'd like to hear them!

I swear, they approached Disney's 100th anniversary film all wrong.

The best part about "Wish" were the easter eggs, and even those were hit-or-miss. The plot didn't scream fairy tale or Disney--and neither did the music; if I never knew this film was a Disney film, I'd say it was a company's first attempt at an animated film. As a first attempt, it's not bad, but as Disney's 62nd film and an ode to 100 years of business....I was heavily disappointed.

I've made posts about how this could've been another epic Disney film, but for this post, I wanna try another angle, with two different ways Disney could've approached this celebratory film.

Option 1: A parody. Looking at "Enchanted", AKA one of Disney's best live-action films, the movie makes fun of classic Disney tropes as well as paying homage to renaissance-era films, which at the time this movie came out, was Walt Disney Animation Studio's biggest successful period. A film about a naive animated soon-to-be princess who is banished to the real world discovers what she wants out of life, all while charming those around her. I'm not saying "Wish" needed to include the real world aspect, but having a parody about a princess (or prince) who comes off very early-Disney while still feeling modern and giving us Disney-esque tropes and a fun story would've been a great vibe. Imagine if Asha is naive and easily taken advantage of by King Magnifico, who teaches her magic and manipulates her into harming others, seeing her youth as a weakness ("Well, you're young. You don't know anything, really."). Imagine the story actually having her BE a fairy godmother, albeit in training, and she has to learn the price and limitations of wishes (very "Cinderella"-esque) and learning when to help and when not to help others. It'd be mature and magical at the same time! Plus I imagine Magnifico being a cross between Narissa and Gaston. Amaya would probably be non-existant or an admirer Magnifico uses.

Option 2: A cutting, modern take on a classic. While I'd rather have "Kingdom of the Sun," "The Emperor's New Groove" is a funny and irreverent story about a selfish Inca Emperor who's turned into a llama by his power-hungry advisor and must return to the palace while learning to care about others along the way. Kuzco, in contrast to most Disney protagonists (or most protagonists in kids/family films in general) starts off petty, untrustworthy, and self-centered, but these qualities also give way to cleverness and humor, something that most Disney heroes lack due to either their innocence, kindess, or seriousness. Kuzco continually comments on things around him with quips and remarks that go unnoticed by the general populace (thanks to breaking the 4th wall), and it got me thinking, what if Asha was like this--or better yet, Magnifico? What if Magnifico wasn't a villain per se, but a selfish and mean king who continually had pessimistic comments to make about this fantasy-esque kingdom he created and his airheaded inhabitants. Their growing dependence on him--as well as their happy-go-lucky attitudes make him constantly patronize and devalue them, and his attitude accidentally causes destruction for the kingdom. When Asha challenges his perspective and goes on an adventure to bring back his love for others (trauma does run deep for him), he learns that everyone has a wish worth granting, and that he shouldn't be so quick to look down on others because they still have the joy and innocence he lost. Plus the people of Rosas learn not to take advantage of others and appreciate the things they have. Magnifico being like a cross between Yzma and Kuzco would be a sight to behold, while Asha takes on more of a wise Pocahontas-type role.

I can't be the only one who thinks this was a better approach to "Wish" if they didn't want to do a typical epic film.

Doctor who companions part 2 

Nobody asked but,  

Brain rot is real so here is part two of the 9-1-1 characters as doctor who companions 

Ravi:

Susan Foreman; Granddaughter to the Doctor and companion to the 1st Doctor 

Ravi my beloved, has to also be Susan, my beloved. Both super smart with vague enough backstories, but we know they involve some form of trauma, only having snib-bits of information. Both are extremely smart and everyone around them seems to feel like they might be holding back. Ravi as a companion I see would quickly become one of the doctors' favorites. Not due to romantic interest but from his personality matching the doctor and everyone's immediate need to take Ravi under their wing, seriously he's the sweetest and I can see why everyone just loves him like a little brother immediately. He is also a companion like Susan that I feel like fans would be screaming at the writers to bring back or have more of. THIS IS ME SCREAMING TO BRING SUSAN BACK AND RAVI MAIN CASTED. 

Tommy:

Romana I & II; Companion to the 4th Doctor and Timelord 

Tommy is both Romanas and would be as a companion. Starting like Romana I as more pompis and rude. Feeling like hes the best, especially like Romana because they were under the influence of people, they felt like they had to perform and impress for (Tommy being Gerard and Romana being the council of timelords). I could see instead of Tommy ‘regenerating’, him being left then found again (like within 911) and becoming Romana II. More sure of himself, having found the time to grow and become a kinder person. Both would help in any way they can, risking whatever it is to help someone they know in need, still a bit sarcastic and blunt but meant with actual kindness this time around. I also head canon Romana II as a lesbian so this fits to my own headspace.  

Josh:

Melanie “Mel” Bush; Companion to the 6th, 7th, 14th, and 15th Doctor 

First off, I believe if you asked Josh his favorite companion it would also be Mel. Both have the upbeat and sweetheart personalities. But they can blindside you with their headstrong snarky remarks. Both are geniuses and headstrong in their respective knowledge boats and remarkable brave, but can and will scream terrified from time to time (both characters have remarkable similarities in how the writers can't choose how they’ll react to stress or fear). Josh also given the doctors costume closet insist on wearing whatever stylish outfits he can to match the era. Josh would be such a fun companion, who while being the relief, can still get the job done and be efficient in helping the doctor. Could see him being such a long-lasting companion.  

May:

Clara Oswald; Companion to the 11th and 12th Doctor 

Clara to me will always be one of the companions that matched the doctors and being a time traveler the best, and May absolutely matches that same energy. I feel like May would also be wary of the doctor initially. But slowly grow to appreciate and adore his kindness and whimsy, slowly also growing her skills quickly and growing her own confidence in those skills. She would absolutely match the doctor's sass and break away from his orders if she knows that it would be for the best. Don't get me started on the fact that May would also become a solo traveler in a stolen Tardis if given the option, making sure to visit her folks now and again, potentially giving Harry trips across the stars.  

Chris:

Luke Smith; Sarah Jane Smiths Child 

This is not at all self-indulgent from the fact that I see Eddie as Sarah Jane Smith I have no idea what you are talking about.... But seriously, we all know that Christopher is extremely intelligent and sweet. I don't think he would be allowed to make it through actual TARDIS travel whether that be the doctor knowing that lifestyle wouldn't suit Chris well or Eddie hard stopping any of that talk. You can make parallels between Christophers disability and how Luke also deals with his being alien. Wanting to do the same things as the other kids, both parents saying they can and are just like the other kids, but both learning and dealing with the fact that they both are in fact different. Both though are wingman's to their respective parents and are usually the ones to figure things out. I see Chris just looking at Eddie as he solves how to stop an invasion like, ‘what, it's obvious?’.

Tech looked ready to crumble then and there, but he nodded, small and tired. "Then don't watch." He said simply.

She huffed an unamused laugh. "Seriously?" She asked. "You're seriously okay with walking away, and pushing us to the side?"

Tech didn't answer. "We want to help!" She reached a new level of anger. "I want to help- but I can't when you're–" She gestured to him. "Things are different."

"You mean I'm different." Tech hissed bitterly.

Phee's mouth moved faster than her brain. "Yes!" She snapped. "And you're tearing yourself apart- and I can't–"

She sighed, face in her hands. "There are other options." She said finally.

Tech's jaw clenched. "Options that will get you and everyone around killed either me?" He drew up. "I'll take my chances going alone."

He turned away before she could retort. "If you can't handle it, that's fine." He steeled himself. "I can't ask you to do anymore than I have."

"Tech–" Phee's voice cracked.

"Don't," He snapped. "Goodbye, Phee."

Day 1 of new talks between the AMPTP and SAG-AFTRA has wrapped up, and according to a joint statement from SAG and the AMPTP, they will pick back up on Wednesday, October 4th. So basically a one day break in between before they are set to return back to the table for renegotiations.

It's worth noting that today was the first time the actors guild has met with the studios since the strike started, back in July, after that one and only initial offer from the studios, with them unwilling to negotiate beyond that with SAG.

It's likely that the studios' new offer has changed from what it was previously back in June, so I would imagine it would be asking a lot to expect SAGs negotiating committee to agree to a new deal the same day they were offered it, without the option to think it through properly and potentially counter offer even, with the studios being willing to continue negotiations beyond that in good faith.

In the case of the actors, who again have not met since pre-strike, I do think they could benefit a lot from a day hiatus after this new offer, to properly think over what the studios are bringing to the table this time around, and how to move forward in a way that honors all their initial concerns, assuming all of their demands are even all being acknowledged in these new talks.

What does intrigue me is that it could go one of both ways.

It could be a situation where SAG has so much they need to re-work in terms of how they want to negotiate this new offer, maybe because it is just that bad and they have a lot to cover. And so they didn't think meeting the next day, like 15 hrs from now, with 8 of those hrs being spent sleeping, would be their best approach going into this. Whereas taking a full day to really look things over and then come back on Wednesday with all their responses to the counter offer more fleshed out than they would have been if they had rushed, just makes a lot more sense.

Or it could be a situation where SAG actually got a decent offer, one maybe even comparable to the calibre of the deal the WGA just got, and so, just like WGA last weekend, they needed a day to really sit on it and work through every aspect of the offer to make sure their concerns are being addressed and that there aren't any loopholes in the language of the new deal that could end up screwing them over. Bc yeah, it could sound great, but does that mean it really is.? They have to be very smart about this.

It's likely a combination of both of these, with some things being close to SAG's demands while other aspects might very well not be.

If the studios are serious and know of an offer that could win over SAG, just like the one that won over the WGA, it does beg to question if they are ready to just go through and get that over with as soon as possible, or play back and forth for the next couple weeks.

I think given that maybe one or two executives might be ready to bow out, with a sweet deal that the guild(s) can't refuse, it would also make sense why they are in agreement to get this done swiftly, even if it means backtracking on all their points in their initial offer, giving in to demands they said they never could/would.

We'll have to wait and see how things go moving forward even just with statements on behalf of SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP. It's possible they could be a lot more under-wraps about it, which seems to be the case thus far because I'm not seeing near as much coverage about these talks as we did with the WGA negotiations last week.

But to be fair, joint statements and quiet talks with little to no leaks are arguably a good thing and likely means that the studios are hopefully negotiating in good faith, to the point where the guild is taking them seriously in return and are ready to get the ball moving in a way that leads to a fair deal sooner than later.

i really want paul back in f2 next season. i think thats why im so numb about him dropping down in the f2 championship tdy cz him getting 2nd or 3rd isnt rlly beneficial if he doesnt get the title. so i honestly think its best if he stays 4th below but still top ten so it gives him a bit of leeway to be able to do another f2 season w/o ppl being annoying and considering him "too good" or "having too much of an advantage from last season". i truly do think all he needs is a win to be able to release all that pressure cz i do think hes getting desperate and being stupid w his racing choices (not saying all these bad races was him being stupid but u have to admit some of them were stupid choices, like yesterday's sprint...). also i feel all the f1 academy backings do see him but are just waiting to see if he wins. so we rlly js need him to win and i think that'll calm his mind and get the f1 teams' attention.

if not another f2 season, i think another good option for him to race in fe but ya i still think he js needs to win this season at least once, get a backing, and if not f2 go into fe with a reserve or development position in a team.

Sega Mega Drive - Sonic & Knuckles

The 4th and final Mega Drive Sonic game [in Japan at least] is quite a special one. For a start, the packing is nothing like all the other Japanese Mega Drive games. This comes in a card box quite similar to those used for Sega 32X games. The cartridge that you can see below is also completely different as well. This is the only Mega Drive cartridge to feature a "lock on" option. What this does is allow you to add other cartridges to Sonic & Knuckles to enhance the gameplay and unlock extras or at least that's how Sega put it. The lock-on feature only works with Sonic 2 and 3, however. What this does is allow you to play as Knuckles in Sonic 2 or 3 even though he wasn't originally available in those games.

This time the game focuses on Sonic as well as Knuckles, who was not yet playable in Sonic 3. Instead, however, Tails has now been removed from play. Essentially there are two separate games to tackle, depending on which character is selected at the start of the game. Although the appearance of the zones is the same for either character, their layout and some of the bosses' tricks differ noticeably at several points in the game, increasing from the Lava Reef Zone onwards. However, the style of play does not differ significantly from one character to the next as it does, for example, in Sonic Adventure.

The next bit of information is taken from Wikipedia, which I admit is not the best method of research since the site can be easily manipulated.

Chapter 1: Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles

In "Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles" also known as 'Sonic 3 & Knuckles' (often referred to as the "complete" version of Sonic 3 by Sonic fans). There are four immediate differences: The player can play as Knuckles in the Sonic 3 levels. After the levels of Sonic 3 are finished, play continues straight to the levels of Sonic & Knuckles.  The player can play as Tails in the Sonic & Knuckles levels. Game progress can be saved in Sonic & Knuckles using Sonic 3's save feature (there are now 8 rather than 6 save slots). 

Once the player picks a character and starts playing, more differences become apparent. Passing a star post can now open up 3 bonus games, including the slot machine stage (20 rings required) and the magnetic orbs stage (35–49 rings required) from Sonic & Knuckles as well as the gumball machine (50–65 rings required) from Sonic 3. Knuckles' levels are divergent from Sonic's and Tails' in most cases, with new areas and bosses.

Sonic and Tails skip the final boss of Launch Base while Knuckles still has to do it although he skips the first true boss of Launch Base. The Sonic & Knuckles levels are the same, except that Mushroom Hill now has an intro. Sonic 3 & Knuckles save files conserve lives and continues, as well. In addition, Knuckles' theme music has also changed as well as that of the mid-level bosses. Other tunes such as the 1-Up fanfare and title screen have also been changed to the S&K version. Monitor (power up) placement and type change when the games are combined. Also, an extra Chaos Emerald bonus stage has been added to the linked game—it is not present in either of the two separately.

This stage and its Super Emerald counterpart give a Golden (Seriously) Emerald that acts as an emerald of that kind but is not recorded in the save data nor does it appear with the Chaos or Super Emeralds.

Super Tails in Mushroom Hill Zone. Collecting all the Chaos Emeralds in the levels of Sonic 3 will turn Sonic or Knuckles into Super Sonic or Super Knuckles. However, once the player enters their first Special level in Mushroom Hill Zone (which is almost impossible to miss with Knuckles since it's in his way), they teleport to Hidden Palace where the emeralds are transformed into gray "Super Emeralds", thus beginning the Super Emerald quest. Super Emeralds can only be collected if the player has collected all of the Chaos Emeralds prior to reaching Mushroom Hill Zone. (Nothing happens in Hidden Palace otherwise.) In addition, both Knuckles and Sonic can now power-up and go "hyper" once they have obtained both the Chaos Emeralds and the Super Emeralds.

Tails cannot normally gain emerald powers but do so when he collects all Super Emeralds, taking on the form of Super Tails. He has no "hyper" form but simply remains "super" with some extra powers. Taking care to avoid all the Special levels (the one after the cut-scene in particular), it is possible to finish the game with only the 7 Chaos Emeralds, retaining their "super" powers until the very end of the game. In this case, the game endings will resemble the "good" endings from Sonic & Knuckles. This allows for a total of nine different endings—each character (Sonic and Tails together have the same as Sonic alone) has one with 0–6 Chaos Emeralds, one with all 7 Chaos emeralds, and the third with all 14 Chaos and Super Emeralds. If the Super Emeralds have been attempted, but not found, the game will revert to the "bad" (0–6 Chaos) ending.

Chapter 2: Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Sonic 2 & Knuckles also known as "Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic the Hedgehog 2", this game is identical to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (aside from a few changes to make it more playable with Knuckles) but with Knuckles now playable instead of Sonic or Tails. The title screen features Knuckles, and the only option is "start" (Options or versus mode have been disabled). There are no new zones. The only difference in gameplay is that Knuckles can explore once inaccessible areas (where secrets such as 1-ups have been added for Knuckles), some areas are harder because Knuckles can't jump very high and accelerates slowly (in particular, the final boss is regarded as being much more difficult to beat while playing as Knuckles), and Knuckles retains his rings after a Special Stage, making it much easier to obtain Chaos Emeralds. Getting the Emeralds is easier too, for the Special Stages have reduced Ring quotas for Knuckles to achieve.

Chapter 3: Blue Sphere

Opening of the Blue Sphere mini-game. By placing the first Sonic game, or most other Sega games inside, a "No way? No way!" screen will pop up with Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Robotnik making odd faces, telling you the cartridge is supposedly incompatible. But, by pressing the A, B, and C buttons together, a mini-game based on the Chaos Emerald bonus levels is unlocked, called Blue Sphere. There are 134,217,728 of these levels. Only by locking the original Sonic the Hedgehog game (the Sonic Compilation works as well) in the Sonic & Knuckles cart, one can play through *all* the stages. The other Genesis games will only play one level each, which will infinitely repeat. Despite being nearly randomly generated, the levels are playable for the most part, even if many bits and pieces of levels get recycled.

In Sonic Jam and Sonic Mega Collection, Blue Sphere is playable as a separate game. Sonic Jam allows you to play it by choosing to play Sonic & Knuckles and then choosing to "lock it on" with Sonic 1. In Mega Collection, the game has to be unlocked separately.

On September 11, 2005, a Sonic game modifier named Stealth created a hack that allowed you to play Knuckles in Sonic 1 called Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic the Hedgehog, with all of Knuckles' unique abilities intact. Playing these levels via a game with battery backup erases saved games. Additionally, games made after Sonic & Knuckles was released will not work with its lock-on feature. There are only a few games made before Sonic & Knuckles that do not work, such as Phantasy Star IV.

I was genuinely curious why it would be a problem because I couldn't think of any reasons. Because Taika has so casually presented it as not being a problem. I got deceived by him lol.

I have a follow up question: IF Thor gets to have Jane back as he did in the comics and have kiddos with her, wouldn't their powers be seriously 'diluted' because their mommy is human.

And hmmm... You know, I've thought about that too, and I have a couple of different ideas. Because the magic of the Asgardians - and especially the royal ones - is something I'd classify as "soft magic".

For clarification, in writing "soft magic" is classically described as the following:

"[...] one in which the “rules” of using magic aren't entirely known to the reader. There's an air of mysticism, and it leaves a lot of room for the imagination."

So... Magic as it is in Lord of the Rings, or the Force in Star Wars. Hard Magic is more like bending in Avatar: the Last Airbender. Another good example I usually hear recommended to best describe "hard magic" is Full Metal Alchemist, though I've never personally watched that show.

I'd wager then that it could go a few different ways: Half-Breed Children, One or None, and another option based partly on a loose theory of mine I'm going to ... lightly dub the 'All-Force Theory'. More info about those 3 options under the cut.

In any of the provided cases (but especially One or None or All-Force), Jane and Thor would be able to successfully be together, and Thor's line would be able to continue on and eventually keep producing. With the potential for multiple powerful Royals at the same time, conceivably. Then in that way the Royals wouldn't go extinct, and Thor would get to be happy and have a family all his own.

Which really would be sweet for him, because the guy's a bit of a chainbreaker in the mold of his family's trauma, and the idea of Thor breaking old habits and old systems he learned from Odin and Frigga that hurt him and his brother, and choosing to raise his kids and their grandkids with the sort of love and freedom he didn't get before would be absolutely wonderful for him. (assuming in this scenario he also doesn't take the throne. Though I'd think him breaking the mold and changing the direction of his family line for the better is something he would do anyways but ESPECIALLY as King of Asgard. He has every reason to build a stronger foundation for the future, and certainly has the heart and willpower to do it, and do it well.)

(...Also I do think that you're right about Buri being the first and founder of Asgard, because that's also true of actual Norse Mythos I'm half-certain. But where in the MCU they state officially, that I'm actually not sure... ;;v;; Since I know for sure it's not in the mainline Thor movies, and I haven't watched, say, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to get Sif's perspective on anything, because I don't have the time to watch every spin-off of the MCU ;; I do know they mention Bor and Buri in the Dark World Prelude comic, but as if it's not in the mainline Phase 1-3 films, then it's considered a "spin off tie in" to me, and therefore not canon. Mostly because not everyone would have read it, and therefore it's unfair for the narrative to draw upon it as a canon factor — which is why I take issue with Phase 4-6 but whatever.)

Half-Breed Children - all kids spawned by Thor with Jane would become half-breeds so to speak. This can result in either an asgardian-human child being weaker than what a royal Asgardian would be when paired with another Asgardian, OR it could result in that child being able to explore completely unique avenues of their magic, sometimes even allowing for a stronger reflection of it. (I think of characters like Inuyasha, who is able to overcome his half-brother despite being a hanyō. Not because he's physically stronger than his brother, but because he has a unique experience that fortified his resolve and allows him, most of the time, to overcome his obstacles by creative means.)

One or None - this idea follows the Legend of Korra/Avatar: the Last Airbender rules where, say, if a fire nation woman had children with an earth kingdom man, their children would either be one of the following: a non-bender (unable to bend at all), a fire bender (fire nation dominant), or an earth-bender (earth kingdom dominant.) In this case, Thor's children would either be born with or without Asgardian genes, although their mother would be a human. You either get another Asgardian, as Thor's gene is dominant despite being another species, or you don't, and you just get a human.

All-Force - this one is sort of a pet theory I have had rattling in my brain for a few months now, so you can take it or leave it really, but I did realize through watching (and rewatching, and... rewatching some more) the Thor films, and it struck me that: a.) the only Asgardians with "special powers" of some stripe (usually following a personality theme, go figure) are the Royals. (Again, this is discounting Heimdal, only bc I'm not sure what his deal is in the grand scheme of MCU!Asgardian Things. Love that man tho.) and b.) the Royals can have incredibly specific powers, but also overlapping powers all while alive at the same time. Things like Clairvoyance/Prophetic tendencies, the amplification of powers, enchantment, blah blah blah, you get the picture.

Assuming, then, that the Royal Line is the royal line because they possess great cosmic power, starting with Buri, then it COULD be argued that, in Earth-199999, the "Odinforce" is less an Odin-Force and more an All-Force, and one that ALL of the Buri line will possess. Mind you that I do have a general idea of the comics and their version of the Odinforce and how it works — namely that is must be passed on from King to King, and usually is at the former king's death. BUT the Odinforce has never been named or expanded upon whatsoever in any of MCU!Thor's media, so we can reckon with the idea that it may simply not exist in this universe, OR that it does, but that it works differently from the comics, and manifests in ALL direct-lineage Royals. For instance: Buri would have it. Pass it on to Bor. They would have incredible powers at the same time, because that is the All-Force, so to speak. Bor passed it on to Odin, and Odin passed it on to Hela and Thor who ALL three possess this particular powersource simply by being around.

Also I've noticed that Hela, and especially Odin and Thor share a lot of powers all at the same time in the MCU and I'll list some that I can think of off the top of my head:

Clairvoyance of various stripes (thor has prophetic visions/dreams, odin can see through the ravens even while he's in the Odinsleep.)

The ability to completely recharge oneself by falling into a multiple-day Sleep, though this state leaves the royal completely vulnerable (Odin's Odinsleep in 2011, and while it's technically not canon, Thor wipes out for 2 days straight in the original ending of Dark World after managing to endure the Aether. Lil' baby Odinsleep. He was a sleepy boy.)

Enchantments that can take this innate power away, as well as temporarily share one’s personal gift (Odin in 2011, Thor in L+T even though I hate that movie too)

The ability to further enhance and channel this power through the usage of a conduit weapon (odin’s spear, hela’s swords, thor’s axe)

Generally just being 10x more enhanced as a physical being compared to other Asgardians, who are already leagues beyond that of humans

Admittedly the 'All-Force' idea is, again, simply based on speculation and fan-theory, so I'm not saying this is ACTUALLY the case of how the powers work. BUT if it was the way it worked, then Thor's kids, even despite being half-breeds, would probably still end up all having their own innate abilities regardless of the fact they're not technically full Asgardian. Simply because they're a direct descendant of Thor.

Stumbled across a few of the assassins creed game trailers and was wondering if you have any thoughts on them.

Apologies in advance, my peak AC years lined up a lot with my peak "I must know what's going on in the industry" years so you're gonna get 50% gamer takes and 50% game dev takes. The answer to your question is yes, I have a lot of thoughts.

I got into Assassin's Creed around Brotherhood, which was the 3rd game (AC 3 was the 4th game), but I was a "patient gamer," which is to say, I always bought games years after they released because the price would go down, and that meant I had a weird relationship with AC.

AC basically has 3 eras:

Pre-Brotherhood

Post-Brotherhood

The RPG era

People will try to tell you it has 2 eras (Desmond and post-Desmond), and they're not entirely wrong about that but I break the Desmond era into pre- and post-Brotherhood for a good reason: Brotherhood was when they began yearly releases.

Each game essentially had a dev cycle of a year and a half, with folks finishing their work on game A and immediately moving on to game B while the next group of developers would get game A like the world's strangest conveyor belt. It takes some seriously clever management and well-trained folks to pull this off, and depending on who you are in this conveyor belt this can either be the culmination of your expertise, or soul-crushing. Given the shortness of the dev cycle (most games in the 2010s had a 2-3 year dev cycle in the west, and a 3-4 year dev cycle in Japan) it was soul-crushing more often than not.

Yearly releases meant a strict formula. After Brotherhood, the differences from game to game were mostly in content, never in structure or core mechanics. To stand out each game would have their own side feature which could neatly be inserted into pretty much any game. Now, the way I phrase it makes it sound like a bad thing but the truth is Ubisoft was excellent at designing content.

(there are generally two types of game design: systems design and content design. Since AC's systems were already set in stone, any resources going to system design could be reallocated to content design)

The games following a strict formula meant that if I liked one game, it was a safe bet that I'd like the others. Given that I was a "patient gamer" and was therefore 2 full games behind everyone else, it also meant that if they shared with me a cool gameplay experience that they had, I understood everything they were saying.

The AC games I got really into would be pretty dated now, though I replayed Infamous recently, which is doing some pretty similar things, and it aged well for what it is so maybe I'd be surprised. Games of this era were really experimenting with the concept of parkour, and my favorite thing about AC was how it would show off how good its parkour system was by making everything tall. It doesn't do that any more because modern AC doesn't have parkour as a "selling point," merely a mechanic, and honestly the level design probably benefits from the confidence the franchise has gained.

The big thing I remember the old games did poorly was combat. AC games were stealth games back then, and it's a very common design philosophy to put the player at a disadvantage in combat to punish them for getting spotted, but AC was different in that combat wasn't actually difficult at all, it just didn't feel good. I would stealth not because that was my best option but because it was more fun.

Now, the RPG era, also known as the post-Desmond era, also known as the lootbox era, also known as the post-yearly-release era, was... actually I basically described the whole thing. The games added RPG mechanics, gave the player and enemies levels, and made it more difficult to stealth-kill enemies (you could only get a lot of starting damage to get a head start on combat for high level enemies).

As far as I can tell, this was not done to shake up the formula. This was not a shift people wanted or liked. AC was a stealth game, and now it's a combat game with stealth in it sometimes. Some new people gravitated toward AC and a lot of people, myself included, gravitated away.

What this accomplished, however, was the opportunity to monetize in the form of gear with bonus stats which you could get through lootboxes or other microtransactions. This was Ubisoft's way to generate the same amount of money as yearly releases with fewer actual releases. It's my opinion as a game dev and as a gamer that the decision to pivot to RPG mechanics was 0% because it was the shakeup the franchise needed, and 100% to justify this new monetization model.

Don't get me wrong, yearly releases were unsustainable, I would have been able to tell you that from the beginning, and as the games industry grows and technology advances games get bigger and more complex, which means dev cycles get longer. Lots of Japanese companies are currently on 5-year dev cycles (TotK for example).

Back when Google Stadia was a thing, I was given beta access to it and a copy of AC: Odyssey right when it came out at a time when my gaming funds were at an all-time low, which meant I was jumping forward in time several years to play the most advanced assassin's creed game in the lowest resolution you can imagine.

Combat was vastly improved to the point of being fun, but stealth never recovered from Ubisoft's monetization model. The biggest takeaway for me after playing Odyssey was that I've completely outgrown the Ubisoft style of open worlds - sometimes referred to as "the tower philosophy" - where you go to a place, climb a tower, unlock the map of that section and watch it populate with icons full of things to do. Most open world games do some version of this but Ubisoft has it down to a science, to the point where it doesn't feel like I'm engaging with art when I play them.

Sonic Frontiers would later adopt that open world philosophy about a decade late

The fantasy of Assassin's Creed is "what if there was a stealth game I wasn't dogshit at" and it was great to fulfill that fantasy, but once it pivoted away from stealth there wasn't really anything else for me.
