My dad at any given opportunity: “I used to have an as good or even better memory than [my name] and you know how good her memory is.”
I feel like this guy is competing with me by remembering how he was at my age — always has.
And (unrelated) if I criticize him or say anything at all with anything other than happiness or neutrality in my voice, his response is always “Sorry, but you have to understand I’m not feeling good right now. I’m trying to be a father to you; I wish I had a father at your age. I’m suffering. I have [this this and this] wrong with me; and THE ELDERS—“ Dad, Dad… you NEVER feel good; you know this and you’ve lied to me COUNTLESS times by saying you’d try to get help. Go to therapy for fuck’s sake.
“But Jehovah’s organization!” Fuck Jehovah’s organization. If Jehovah’s organization really cared about its members, you wouldn’t be so frightened of defaming its good name at the expense of your mental and PHYSICAL health. If Jehovah’s organization really cared for you, you wouldn’t be hiding your trauma from people who can help “because it’ll hurt Jehovah” like a wife who developed Stockholm syndrome from being beaten by her love-bombing husband.
#exjw#fuck everything about this#I understand you’re old and broken-down but you lack self-awareness in all the worst places#and it’s making you even older and more broken-down#religious trauma#I’m at the point where I can hardly stand being in the same room as him#I’m not asking for him to be happy or pleasant all the time… that’s impossible; I’m asking to be treated with some level of real respect#not as a weaker vessel#not as an object of competition#not as something he owns and has all the rights to because he and Mom tried for me and suffered to have me#I want to be treated as an adult offspring ought to be treated#No jokes or laughing about my sex or traits of neurodiversity#No homophobia#No emotional enmeshment or being treated like the therapist he refuses to seek out#No religious fearmongering#No judging my choice of self-made meals because they’re not “good enough” by his standards#No infantilizing

lot of people on this website are just out here proudly not knowing anything about what a religion actually believes and taking tumblr user 29474937’s word on it

"Christianity/religion is a mental illness" people can fuck right off thank you
#not only are you being extremely ableist#but you're dismissing how much propaganda and fearmongering and guiltripping#and just general manipulation is used by these religions to control people#i suppose you probably think you're too smart and clever and “normal” to believe any of that and that you're superior to these people#same applies to “anyone who is religious is inherently stupid” folks

this site has been made so afraid of atheist thinking that someone can endorse 'criticism of religion as a hierarchical system of social control' in the same breath as denouncing 'antitheism' . what do you think that word means
#myposts#saw this in real life this morning#genuinely i think having only religious perspectives talking about how dangerous antitheism is has made people forget#the uhhh conflict of interest there? of course religious people are going to say that they have a vested interest in those#methods of social control. duh. whether they are benefiting from social power given or are simply invested in it on principle#so the hypothetical 'antitheist' is an evil-doer who wants to rid the world of all spirituality because they love genocide for its own sake#meanwhile the same people that have fallen victim to that fearmongering will express basic antitheist principles such as#religion as a control mechanism exerted from early childhood is somewhat unethical. because theyre positions that make sense#your imagined distinctions from antitheism are uhhh imagined.#you have fallen for a Ruse meant to protect the exact power dynamics you criticize

the thing I keep thinking about really intensely is that yes, for like 99% of their acquaintance, Crowley was the one who had more understanding of the way heaven and hell really work. but for that brief moment in their first meeting, he genuinely was more naive and idealistic than Aziraphale. like, Aziraphale was scared, even back then, at the thought of questioning god; even right back before the beginning, some part of him knew that he was fearful and unsafe, and he realised that before Crowley ever did.
it’s honestly almost like some kind of, Aziraphale fell first, Crowley Fell harder - he never completed the realisation the same way Crowley managed to, but he arrived there earlier. And I wonder so much what exact kind of effects witnessing the demons’ fall had on him, given that he’d already obtained some of that awareness that he perhaps was not in a very good place to be. but the only alternative of places to go, as far as he knew, was at the very least just as bad, and in some ways legitimately worse.
#good omens spoilers#good omens#aziraphale#crowley#i think it's interesting because i know there's been comparisons to irl religious sects/cults with aziraphale#but i feel like the idea of the alternative to your current bad place being somewhere Worse works in like#a metaphorical sense but less so in a literal one#because i think that the thing with irl conditioning is the Worse Place is generally just anywhere outside of the community#which is made to appear as somewhere hostile and unwelcoming as part of the conditioning#and like sure earth is not actually that#and in that way does represent the not-so-bad and potentially good place that the real world actually is#in comparison to the community that wants to keep him#but equally in aziraphale's case#hell is not a tool for fearmongering or a thing you can like#eventually discover not to be an Absolute Belief the way it's presented#Aziraphale's situation in comparison to irl religious indoctrination is really weird because hell is REAL#and genuinely is awful#there's a terrible place beyond the neutral real world where he could actually end up#and we know it was awful for Crowley being there#and heaven is awful too but they are both notably distinct from the kind of potentially awful which earth can be#and i do this with pretty much Every fantasy/scifi heightened version of irl phenomena which i encounter#but it's gotta have a different impact on your brain right#getting out from under your conditioning somewhat because you've found the neutral real world#and you're experiencing stuff that challenges your beliefs and shows you that there's more than you realised#but at the same time that moment of realising that you don't have to believe in the terrible consequences you were raised to fear#never comes#because you KNOW that place exists#and you know somebody who went there and despises it#who in fact actively works to prevent you from having to go there too

Person 1: concept has done damage
Person 2: we should make concept not do damage
Person 1: no. We should get rid of the language involved in defining the concept
Person 2:

#this is about someone i saw say we should get rid of the term virginity#not like its use as an insult or its involvement in religious intoctribation or fearmongering#just the concrpt of person who hasnt had sex#and im like. but there are legitimate reasons to need to know if someone has had sex before#like. for diagnosing and tracking sources of STIs. or sex ed in general#like if u get rid of the words to describe an injustice or harm that foesnt get rid of the injustice or harm#it just removes your ability to describe or analyze the harm#not to mention animsls xapable of virgin birth? you cant get rid of the concept of a lack of something#if the something in question still exists and theres someone who hasnt had that thing#dont be weird about ace prople in the notes btw if it was an ace person saying it i would not be critiquing it. lovema ace friends

this is the first paragraph in a TERF rant post about how porn helps the transfem deep state or whatever but it's just so funny to me. REVOLTING sex based cults (the first example being a religious group that famously attracted women and slaves). girl why are you picking a fight with bacchanalias do you have nothing better to fearmonger about
#m.#the etruscan ''bdsm'' tomb is real btw look up tomb of the whips/whipping#there's unfortunately no context for like. why they depicted it#it's a tomb so it's possibly apotropaic (wards off evil) but we don't know!#regardless free etruscan women were in a much better social position than others in antiquity#for the record. some had their own surnames & could give those surnames to their children#and I believe there's some evidence they could hold governing positions

You know what, considering that DnD was bashed and rallied against for supposed promotion of demonology, homosexuality, violence, sex, witchcraft, etc. and this led to Baldur’s Gate 1 being pretty tame as far as story and characters go. I think it’s very fitting and poetic that Baldur’s Gate 3 is literally everything that the religious right in America fearmongered about in the 80s and 90s, and it’s absolutely great and compelling. If you showed an evangelical Christian from the 80s any character from Baldur’s Gate 3, they would combust into flames. To me, that’s why the game goes so hard in the thematic and stylistic directions it did because historically, all of these things got DnD bashed and censored. But now, nobody cares and people love it. Oh do times change.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is an victory lap for the DnD franchise because the culture war has moved so far past it that nobody has to walk on eggshells anymore to appease those types.
Jack Chick would implode at the mere existence of this game if he was alive today. And to me, that’s the beauty of Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s DnD saying “yeah we are everything you fearmongered about about and we gon sell a million plus copies while doing it” because in the end, DnD won the culture war against the people who wanted them gone.

I don't really see people talking about how cultural Christianity is applied to Jews.
In Christianity, Jews are the people who rejected and betrayed Jesus and are punished with statelessness and destitution, whose only redemption is accepting the Messiah and the Son of God. This is the basis of several antisemitic tropes, most prominently deception, religious supercessionism and the Wandering Jew.
In cultural Christianity, these tropes are considered tenants of Judaism rather than Christianity, as Judaism is considered Christianity without Jesus.
Christians see themselves as tortured saints, persecuted for spreading the truth of Jesus and God across the globe. Missionaries who go to non-Christian lands to try and get the people to convert by fearmongering with damnation to Hell see themselves as victims when they're rebuffed and asked to stop.
Cultural Christian non-Christians are usually atheists and adherents of folk religion revivalist movements who have suffered religious abuse, as many sects of Christianity normalize emotional abuse by instilling inherent guilt in the Original Sin and even physical abuse in "Spare the rod; spoil the child". These cultural Christians see the millennia of antisemitism and roll their eyes, to them we're just another sect of delusional religious people with a persecution complex.
To become a Christian all you need to do is accept the Father Son and Holy Spirit, to affirm your beliefs and confess your sins. To become a Jew you are either born a Jew, or you learn the Jewish culture and religion for months on end and must live half a year under the strictest restrictions of the Jewish lifestyle to show commitment. That is the difference between a universal religion and an ethnoreligion.
In a Culturally Christian world there is no room for ethnoreligions, and they do not exist. All religions are about your faith and which God(s) you believe in. So in a Cultural Christian's eyes, a country of Jews is a country that holds one faith supreme above all others and conditions rights with conversion, as that's how Christian countries have historically been.
Christianity's common ground with Jews comes from the Roman Empire appropriating the religion from the Cult of Jesus, and making it more appealing to the masses by introducing Greco-Roman and Germanic folk religion aspects into it. Xmas is Yule but with Jesus, Easter is a fertility holiday but with Jesus and so on. In the eyes of the Cultural Christian, Christianity and Judaism are two once-antagonistic sects of the same religion, no different than Catholics and Protestants.
Cultural Christianity erases and appropriates Judaism and is as inherently hateful of Jews as religious Christianity.
Now, when it comes to the elephant in the room: Islam.
Islam, like Christianity, is a universal religion. You must believe in Allah and accept the prophets, which include both Jesus and Muhammad. It is no more inherently violent than Christianity, though it's no less. In the Christian's eyes, Islam is the competitor, the enemy. The Muslims conquered Christian lands and converted them, and they've fought holy wars against one another throughout the Middle Ages.
To become a Muslim the Cultural Christian doesn't need to unlearn any of the core tenets of their culture. They can simply apply it to Islam.
Which is why many Cultural Christians, damaged by Christianity, are sympathetic to Islam. And since Muslims and Jews are no longer on good terms, they use this sympathy to give themselves a free pass to be antisemitic. Whether Muslims check their converts for bigotry, allow it or are powerless to stop them, that's another issue.
Jews are not diet Christians. We have less in common with you than you have with Muslims. Unlearn Christian cultural appropriation.
And no, I don't care that it's "offensive" to associate you with Christianity due to the religious abuse you endured. You still see the world through a Christian lens.

So the TERFs saw my "death before detransition" art and have been dog-piling me ever since, saying that "transgenderism" is a death cult that pushes confused kids into suicide (while also sending me death threats/ telling me to kms so like...) and its fuckin wild to me because transitioning literally saved my life. I never thought I would live this long because when I was a teenager figuring shit out, it was the right wing, religious people and TERFs making it seems like death was the only end to being trans. They harped about it being a death sentence. Then I actually met a trans person, and they were happy. They had a small business, a partner, and were loved. Seeing that trans joy made me realized that all the fearmongering was BS and led me to accepting myself. Whatever ailments I have around my gender isn't because I am trans, but because of how bigots target me for existing. Trans existence is resistance and trans joy shall outlast ruthless hate.
Also, adding cause folks love leaping to conclusions- me not wanting to detransition does not mean I think someone choosing to detransition is bad. If someone did so for safety reasons, I thank them for living another day. If they detransition because they realized they aligned more with their gender at birth, then I am proud of them for figuring out what works best for them. The only component I disagree with is the people use that as something to justify their transphobia. Just because something didn't work out for you personally does not mean it doesn't work out for others.

The point that I would like to make about Doctors in pro-life states is that they are afraid to do any healthcare for women in regard to miscarriage for fear of incarceration. Our healthcare system is overwhelmed as it is without this infringement on women that was overturned by a corrupt Supreme Court. The right to privacy is at stake here also. Where does it stop? The Comstock Act was an infringement perpetuated by the religious groups and carried on in America well into the twentieth century. Do we regulate men's choices about their body?
The point you are trying to make is baseless fearmongering and completely nonsensical. There is no evidence whatsoever that doctors in pro-life states are "afraid" to provide healthcare to women. No pro-life legislation has been applied in any way that doctors should fear providing healthcare. If a doctor is truly that scared and incompetent to the point where they are refusing to treat women then they should leave the industry because that's unethical. Then we can trust that the doctors left aren't going to deny treatment because they have an irrational fear.
There's no infringement of women going on here. You pro-aborts will never be able to present a rational, persuasive argument to a pro-lifer as long as you continue to ignore the existence of the other person involved in abortion cases. This isn't just about women. This is about children, too. Children literally die during abortion so the more you pretend it's just about women and no one else the less credible you become.
Women's bodies aren't being regulated. Again, you are ignoring the fact that this is about whether or not a woman should be able to harm the body of another person.
Why should anyone listen to you when you can't be honest about what abortion is?

this will probably be long but I don’t care
It never ceases to amaze me how decent the people in Queen all are. Like yeah they are a major rock band and there was no shortage of Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll™️ going on. We know this. I’m not trying to portray them as perfect people.
But like, if you look at literally anything anyone who’s spent time with them has said or just their actions in general it’s almost hard to believe how like…generous and kind they all are. I mean especially comparing to stuff you hear about the other people/groups at the time.
Freddie bought Christmas dinners for all AIDS patients in hospitals every year. He was a great tipper. He invited anyone who had nowhere else to go to Garden Lodge for holiday dinners. He bought his friends Christmas presents for a Christmas he knew he wouldn’t see. He bought Jim a car. He took in a stranded musician in Japan and sent his driver up to McDonalds when he discovered the person (I’m sorry I don’t remember who it was) didn’t like sushi and then paid the owner to let the guy just sit there. He was the peacemaker of Queen. Everyone around him has always said how funny, kind, generous, and respectful he was.
Roger got a taste of a solo career and immediately went “I’m going to raise awareness for a whole bunch of issues because I am in the position to do so.” He wrote songs about war, racism, socioeconomic inequality, AIDS, neo-Nazism/holocaust denial, domestic violence. He called out religious extremism, politicians, and the extremely wealthy sometimes by name. He’s a patron of Cornwall Pride. He had a signed congratulations note delivered to a couple who got engaged during Somebody To Love. And of course, he co-founded the Mercury Phoenix Trust and then nearly single-handedly organized what remains the largest tribute concert ever the proceeds of which went to the MPT
Brian is Brian. I mean anyone who follows him on Instagram will know he just has a philosophy of treating people with kindness. He’s a queer ally, he calls out crazy right-wing people on a variety of issues, he calls for a ceasefire in Gaza and he champions animal rights. And he practices what he preaches as you will know if you kept up with their last Japan tour and his quest to find vegan food. Not to mention as well as also being a co-founder of the MPT, he and Roger went on national television ONE WEEK after Freddie died to dispel homophobia, AIDS fearmongering, and to raise awareness (not to mention trying to clear up everything the press had been saying about Freddie).
As John is the quiet, private person not much is known about him regarding this but he obviously had deep love and respect for Freddie and I mean there is something to say about the company you keep.
I don’t really have a point I just marvel at it
#Again not saying mistakes were never made#But if you think about it#They’ve done so much to benefit others#They’re charitable#and they use their platforms for good#I love it#very very lucky#Queen#queen band#freddie mercury#Roger Taylor#roger meddows taylor#brian may#sir brian may#john deacon

i posted this on twitter also but it’s still eating at me. i’m so fucking embarrassed to be jewish rn. i dont want to be associated with this ongoing bullshit from israel. why do we need our own state. theyre just making every jew across the globe look bad in general even though many of us are conflicted about zionism and the legitimacy of israel as a state
people have hated jews throughout history for no fuckin reason but now israel exists but now its like. GIVING people reasons to hate us as a group. note that i DON’T conflate zionism with jewishness, but a lot of people in the world don’t know the difference because theyre uninformed and been dripfed cultural antisemitic tropes their whole life and that’s the scary part is them falsely putting two and two together. like what the fuck israel stop youre just putting fuel on the fire for people around the world to hate an entire group of historically persecuted people if youre being this shitty with your insane colonialism and apartheid like……I Want No Fuckin Part Of This. you’re spelling our own doom. you cant just swoop in and go “mine now” and then oppress the people you took land from under a regime without my blood boiling at the injustice no matter WHO you are. even if my lineage is tied to you. so when news outlets support israel it doesn’t feel like they have the best interest of jews as a people in mind. it’s in the interest of a zionist ethnostate and whatever that christian zionism belief is about the jewish people returning to the holy land as prerequisite for the second coming of jesus. its not like they care about us as a dispersed ethnocultural group, it’s all for that religious narrative that a bunch of people in the US are backing.
saying you want all jews to die is antisemitic. beating someone up because they’re jewish and no other reason without knowing their views is antisemitic. criticizing human rights violations perpetrated by israel and the belief that one group deserves more rights another is not antisemitic. and the fact that israel has the ability to pull that antisemitism card in response to criticisms of the violations they commit because their state is the “jewish homeland” drives me fucking insane. take fucking accountability for your actions. and yes, there do exist full-on anti-jewish groups in the middle east that go beyond hatred of israel’s policies and existence as a state and i’m tired of people pretending there aren’t in fear of appearing to seem like they support the state of israel. on the other side of things many people overestimate this by fearmongering and saying EVERY arab is out to get jews worldwide, telling people like me “they want YOU dead”. this is not the belief every person in the middle east and it really rubs me the wrong way that people group millions of individuals into all-encompassing lumps like this. many people there do understand nuance of this political situation.
even if i have that “right of return” by israeli law or whatever, i don’t feel obliged to it; it does not register as fair. why do i have a “right of return” when i’ve never even been there in the first place while palestinians who have homes there can’t return to them? what’s the basis for that? substituting objective reality with an imaginary reality? i don’t think like that. i can hypothetically come and go whenever i please but palestinians are severely limited in mobility? what makes me more entitled to that land than the people who lived there for centuries? nothing that comes from natural law thats for sure. it’s all artificial and inflated.
but at the same time i also dont want to be the target of antisemitism and caught in the fray just for being ethnically jewish. once people start calling for the genocide of entire groups we’ve got issues (and you better believe this absolutely applies to the palestinian victims in gaza too), because people who dissent to the violence perpetrated by the loudest are caught in there with the people who are perpetrating the violence. lack of nuance. people conflating israel and its zionist apartheid policies with jewish ethnicity and culture worldwide. other people conflating being terrorist anti-jew with muslims worldwide (like that 6-year old palestinian-american boy that was just stabbed to death in chicago). scary times man. but as a jew i can’t just opt out of this if it’s how i was born as. i don’t have control over that. but i can control what i think and what my beliefs are
#israel palestine conflict#israel#palestine#what i feel is right most strongly resonates with secular humanist philosophy#never really found the right way to explain my worldview until i read about it

The US Election and the Future of Queer Media
To start this off, I'd like to say that if this post leaves my side of the Internet, this is primarily a religious blog. You won't see takes like this again from me, but I majored in history and have a passion for the preservation of queer culture, so here I am.
I want to start this out by giving my heartfelt condolences to everyone who will be negatively impacted by this election. I'm lucky enough to live in a part of the country where I will likely not experience the negative side of the new administration for at least a year or two. But I know for many, it will come much faster.
The current Republican party has approached queerness with fearmongering, labeling it as "pornography," and attempting to eradicate public expression of it with book and drag bans. While the past 4 years have seen this slow creep, I believe the next 4 years will be much faster, and wider-reaching. I would not be surprised if the Trump administration attempts to ban queer media and public displays of queerness on a federal level, likely under some sort of "anti-porn" law, where queerness will fall under that umbrella of "porn". And with Project 2025 very much existing, and with so many anti-queer people who have the potential to end up in very important positions, we need to get cracking on preserving the queer literature which we do have.
Now would be a good time to start getting USBs, or organizing Google Drives, and trying to get as much queer media onto them as possible. I'm not going to explicitly say that we should all just start pirating stuff at random. If we can buy books, buy art, legally watch movies, donate to organizations etc., then for the love of all that is good, do that. But with the very real threat of our existence being labeled as obscenity on a federal level, it's better safe than sorry. If a time comes where we're unable to access the resources that we need and the stories that we love on the internet, their survival offline will be crucial.
At the end of the day, we will survive. We have the rights that we do have at this moment because our predecessors fought for them. They lived through worse than this, and while it will likely get bad again, we'll survive just as they did.
Linking to two resources that I think are perfect right now, while nothing is falling apart yet:
The Internet Archive, which is a glorious free library, entirely online, with almost anything you could hope to find
The Queer Liberation Library, a Massachusetts-based nonprofit with a collection dedicated primarily to queer literature

viewing Christianity as "the only bad religion" displays a purely western-centric worldview.
like look at Hindu nationalism in India. look at sharia-run countries. look at Buddhist nationalism in Burma.
am i saying that all religions are inherently evil? NO!!!
Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism... they're not "inherently evil" religions. there are plenty of religious people out there who embody and practice the benevolent morals and values of these religions while NOT using them to oppress others around them.
"but their ancient books say--" yeah. there are also plenty of religious people out there who acknowledge that parts of their religious texts are problematic and should not apply to us now while still also practicing their faiths in a positive way.
BUT, when you put religion in the hands of the powerful, they will always twist it to aid their agendas. they fearmonger and plant ideas into the heads of faithful yet ignorant people who will do anything if they feel it pleases their god(s). if you hammer it into their head that the almighty higher power wants them to commit atrocities and take away human rights or else "the devil" will win, there are unfortunately vulnerable people out there who will believe that without question.
these people in power know that it's easy to bend people to their will if they can claim to speak for the almighty.
the problem isn't religion.
the problem is religious fascism.

I'm doing Mikoto and Amane together since Amane's thing is just a reiteration of what was said with Shidou and Mahiru,
So, let's start with Amane,
"Prisoner No. 008: Amane Momose. Your judgement was “innocent”, and as such, her ideas were affirmed. Hehehe, she truly did outdo herself, really messed with the situation. She murdered Shidou because his actions went against her beliefs. Because of the death of Shidou, she also caused the death of Mahiru. What a little brat we’ve got! Maybe that’s the reason for her success. She’s even promulgated her religious views. We could even call it, Amane-ism, this religion she’s created. It’s perfectly suited to MILGRAM. She’s successfully made Futa a believer. So, what will you do now, Es?"
I love how Jackalope states that Amane's new religion is perfectly suited for Milgram. Because sir what? It is? That makes me really curious about what her religion entails for Jackalope to make such a bold claim.
The commencement notice is also harping on how much damage Amane has caused and continuing the trend of displaying her as a threat. Jackalope keeps this same energy with Mikoto as well. Now one could say they're doing this in order to pull the rug from beneath our feet later but I doubt it.
This is the last trial through how Jackalope discussed the deaths of Haruka, Shidou, and Mahiru it seems Milgram is diving right in to how all of the audiences assumptions and shows of good faith have enabled the situation it currently finds itself is. It is tempting to double down but ultimately what the prisoners do with the lives they live are their business and we can't stop anyone in fiction or in reality from living how they wish to live.
Unless one were to stop them from living entirely. Now I'm not going to highroad anyway and say it's important to be the bigger person and live and let live. That would be disingenuous. I have no defense for Amane killing Shidou other than the fact that I don't particularly care that she did that because she told us she was going to do that and I voted with that outcome in mind.
I know shocking some people do choose how they're going to vote while taking into full consideration the consequences making that statement can have. Instead of coming up with a myriad of excuses later when it doesn't go the way they want because they just couldn't fearmonger hard enough or hold a fictional characters life over other people's heads well enough.
Sometimes and most times people should before they give their input reflect on how helpful that might be to the person they are giving the input to or themselves. Possibly reflect on if saying anything at all is the right course of action for them personally. Simply so they don't end up doing something that they can't take back and will regret.
I'm not going to do mental gymnastics to defend the murder of a fictional character who was also a murderer or excuse the deaths of those characters. I'm just gonna do what's the best thing for me personally which is vote and behave how I want to in my best interests until this ends.
Amane isn't the first person to attack someone within this prison. She won't be the last sure her attack was the only one that killed someone causing the death of another involved party in the process. Yet I'm pretty sure a lot of people don't care about the details of how the second death occurred and will take this caused Mahiru's death as Milgram stating Amane went up and stabbed Mahiru too.
See look that middle-schooler is evil and should be burned at the stake on some Backdraft shit,
Count me out I'm not dealing with that energy in 2025 if that's how some people want to spend their time behaving I hope it works out for them. I hope that brings them joy but that is not how I want to spend the last trial of Milgram. A lot of people in this fandom need to mature and recognize that they are not just a safe space for others simply because they say they are.
Also that maybe harping on the youngest person here for being a bad individual who committed murder like everyone else here then going in other cases that's a minor is odd. It's weird. That makes some people some weirdos. I'm sick of hearing about this hat girl and Mu's case where people bring age constantly but then dogpile on someone younger than both of those people. Simply because her bad actions actually impacted them.
Because they lost something from it. It doesn't matter that everyone else here has killed someone. Has also killed kids and admitted from day one. Because those victims don't exist in the eyes of the audience as people so they don't matter. Their lives don't matter because they aren't characters who entertained the audience that the audience grew attached to.
Those characters are just side characters nameless faceless unimportant dead side characters. They are just bodies to set the scene. Speaking of which let's go into Mikoto now.
Let me tell you they learned from last trial on showing more than two of these guys with how the fandom tried to spin that. Because they flipped that bitch like a coin they are not playing anymore.
They split that first one in half and turned that shit over. The front and the backside is right.
"Prisoner No. 009: Mikoto Kayano. Your judgement was “innocent”, and as such, his ideas were affirmed. Hmmm...... What a change from before, so coy! Such a disappointment! I was thinking he’d show us another rampage. It is so boring when one has to go without.... He’s like a shell of a person. He’s been found “innocent”, even after butchering all those people. Doesn’t it make him happy? I wonder why? Maybe he lost something precious?"
"Why, hey why, I’m nowhere to be found?"/ "Just the two of us, relieved, aren’t you? I’ll protect you (us)."
Mikoto Voice Line 3
Mikoto: It’s like something’s disappeared from inside me, and I’m… I’m scared. I’m tired. I just want this to stop. All of it.
"He’s like a shell of a person."
Mikoto Voice Line 1
Mikoto: Kayano Mikoto. I think. That’s who I am, right…?"
"I’m DOUBLE (MeMe)."
Mikoto Voice Line 1 continued,
Mikoto: Ahaha, you’re probably wondering what I’m talking about."
So, I'm downright loving this to be honest.
"I wonder why?"/ "Why?"
"I just want this to stop. All of it."
Fuck it let's do Kotoko too,
"Prisoner No. 010: Kotoko Yuzuriha. Your judgement was “guilty”, and as such, her ideas were rejected. There, you see? I made sure she’s carefully constrained so she wouldn’t wreck havoc. Your fangs... her vigilante justice wasn’t imparted, right? What? Are things different now? It almost makes me feel sorry for her, being at the mercy of your whims...... Obviously, she now views you as her enemy. Don’t think for a moment that you can now communicate with her effectively. "
"But, I must say, the current situation within this prison is directly influenced by the fact that she was once found “innocent”. "
"Evil done against evil, can that ever be justified......? Go on and settle the matter to your satisfaction."
In all things Jackalope remains fair I said it earlier while watching through the video still and I'm glad he hit the nail on the head. The first domino that lead to all of this was Kotoko. All from those first verdicts. It didn't hit us fully until we were almost at the end of the road but the repercussions for everything the audience has said, all its enabled, all it was able to turn a blind eye to.
It's all coming back around now.
"......hehehe. I did tell you, MILGRAM allows for sensibility, morality, ethics, legality, preference, taste, or sexual inclination as the basis for judgement. You really did act in accordance with that. That makes me so happy. And the result is this. Take a look at the prison. What do you think, Es? Do you think you’ve been able to carry out your standards within this prison?"
"Can you really say that you were able to find “innocent” the ones you truly wanted to forgive, and find “guilty” the ones you truly wanted to punish? What? It’s not something to shy away from. Take pride! This is your prison, those feelings that you carry and all."
This prison will happen just once, and it was chosen by you all. If it wasn’t for all of you, the results would have been different, I’m sure. Well now, is it not just beautiful, Es?"
Jackalope and Milgram once again showcasing if the audience and Es did not engage the situation would have been different.
"I am just enthralled by this prison that you all have created. Teeheehee...... hehehe...... Let us now enjoy MILGRAM until it’s finale together, shall we?"
I would be remiss to not point out this looks similar to the light we see in Double at 1:48,
To touch on Jackalope's question real quick,
"Can you really say that you were able to find “innocent” the ones you truly wanted to forgive, and find “guilty” the ones you truly wanted to punish?"
I can't say for certain if there was one right answer for any of the prisoners. However I can say through everything in Milgram I made the decisions I believed in wholeheartedly. Regardless of if they lead to the outcome I wanted or not is irrelevant. I am happy to have been able to have enjoyed and been involved with this once in a lifetime media experience.
I don't know how it will resolve of course and I have been let down in some regards but would I say I regret being involved with it at all at this point? No. I will continue to enjoy the prisoners being the most of themselves until Milgram draws to a close those that are still here now and those that are no longer here.
But I didn't like the subtle implication that the prisoners were dead or going to die before this occurred. Mostly because why even have us vote on any of this at this point. Furthering that implication just makes it feel like a non-issue. I'm also just not particularly interested in stories with that sort of twist. When stories have done things like they were dead from the start or not real twists I just feel like it's taken away the weight of certain points retroactively.
Since from the beginning we were told to vote as though we were choosing whether to let them back into society or not I always liked that framing more. That sort of plot point would really make me go so the deaths in Milgram don't matter and should not impact the decisions on the prisoners still here because they're all dead anyhow so what's the point on harping how they died a second time.
You get what I mean. If it is that I'll be disappointed like with Mahiru but if it is that then no one can really hold anyone dying within Milgram over anybody else's head because they were all dead when they got here at that point. So, what does it matter?
There's a time in the commencement notice when Jackalope is speaking of Mahiru that implies this,
"Well now, don’t get down on yourself. As I’ve said many times, they are all already goners. It’s not a huge point of concern whether they live here or not."
Along with this imagery as well,
Though it doesn't have to mean that it did make my ears perk up. Because there's two ways this go they could all be dead which would be boring for me. Or like the ending implies they are all about to die regardless. Because the ending of the commencement notice shuffles through scenes from milgram with all the characters taken out of them.
So maybe regardless of the last trial verdicts the prisoners are still slated to be executed which would explain why Jackalope is being so flippant about the deaths. As well as why there was no new point added onto this trial. He didn't say if you vote them guilty they're gonna die and if you vote them innocent we'll spare them. No talk on how it would impact things after this just said well let's enjoy it before it's all,
Over,
"Let us now enjoy MILGRAM until it’s finale together, shall we?"
[Route: Your (Curtain) Call]
For all of them.

"They are all already goners."
Side note this thumbnail was sick as hell he looks so mad~ But he's so thrilled in the video.
