Bonzle is 100% without a shadow of a doubt a trans allegory. People have been trying their best to say Sora isn't transcoded, but Bonzle is 2 scenes away from looking at the camera and saying "Hello. I'm a trans allegory." I shall now go into detail on every piece of evidence for this claim because fuck you.

EPISODE 5: Bonzle is afraid of how her found family will react to learning she's a spell (trans) and worries she will be rejected because of it. Easy parallel to trans people being afraid of revealing they're trans post transition. There's also her conversation with Bitch Boy Master Wu, with her saying she feels great loneliness, and only after gaining a physical form (transitioning) she feels happy and her true self. Very common trans experience. Gonna also put all of the quotes for my evidence as well since I know there's transphobes (filth) that like Ninjago and will be scrambling to deny it when people start coming to this conclusion too.

"Bonzle: I-- I was afraid of what you'd think if you knew about my past... Wu: It's called loneliness... Bonzle: I feel like, for the first time ever, I've become who I was destined to be... Bonzle: I was afraid if you found out I wasn't a real person, you wouldn't want me to be in our family anymore."

EPISODE 6: Bonzle is apprehensive about meeting with Gandalaria, seeing as how she's only known Bonzle as a spell, aka pre transition. She worries if she will respect her identity, much like how actual trans people fear how their family, more specifically a parental figure, would react. Bit of a light episode but an important aspect, here's the quotes;

"Bonzle: The Sorceress. She only knows me as a spell. What if she doesn't believe in me as a real person?"

EPISODE 7: This episode is the sauce. Bonzle is reunited with Gandalaria and their conversation is nothing short of magical. Gandalaria immediately recognizes Bonzle, saying she was her greatest creation and had always hoped she'd come home, shattering Bonzle's fears. It's a fantastic contrast, showing how this interaction can go well for some people, while others get an interaction much more akin to Sora's parents. When she's informed of Bonzle's chosen name, Gandalaria immediately starts using it, saying it's a great name. However, for that juicy authenticity, Gandalaria accidentally says spell before quickly correcting herself saying Bonzle. IT'S LITERALLY SO FUCKING OBVIOUS BONZLE'S BONES MIGHT AS WELL BE BLUE PINK AND WHITE. Oh yeah, here's the paragraph of quotes;

"Gandalaria: It's you! My dearest! You've come home! Bonzle: You... You recognize me? Even in my boney physical form? Gandalaria: Oh, I would know your true essence anywhere. Bonzle: I was so afraid you wouldn't accept me for who I am now. Gandalaria Are you kidding? I put my heart, my soul into every spell I weave... The most complex spell I've ever woven, and the first of my creations to ever come back to me!.. Bonzle: I'm Bonzle. That's the name I chose when I became a person. Gandalaria: Well, that's a splendid name... If this Ras times it right, he could reverse the power spell-- uh, Bonzle here--."

EPISODE 9: This episodes importance comes from Jordana, who acts EXACTLY how transphobes do. She constantly calls her a spell (some sort of derogatory term), says she's playing person (like pretending to be a girl), and says she's helping her do what she was made for, like transphobes very creepy beliefs in reproduction. Literally you half expect Jordana to ask which bathroom Bonzle uses since she was a spell. THE QUOTES;

"Jordana: Settle down, spell. I don't know what you think you've been doing, playing person with your fake family, but I know your true purpose... You should thank us. We're helping you to do what you were created to do."

In conclusion the silly lego skeleton girl is one of them spooky transgenders. Lmk if there's anything I missed. Thank you for reading.

Genuinely hate what they did with the Serpentine Lore in s4 if I can be honest and ramble my frustrations here? (I go and talk about other Serpentine too)

The Anacondrai, both the dead tribe and the cultists, have very obviously a different shade of purple scales and a severe lack of black/yellow markings and crystals that Pythor has as well as the very different neck and head shape which are all very valid reasons to be disappointed in their designs, I am too. But it gets worse.

S1 shows us how Scales became the Hypnobrai general- he got different markings, got a tail and was the only one who held the staff. There was a second in command (which was Scales' previous rank in the tribe) and each member of the tribe that wasn't the general had legs. Plus, there's about four to five different designs per tribe (depends if you count the leader/general with their clearly shown special markings and tail). There is only one general per tribe.

The s4 Anacondrai lack all of that. All of them have a tail, even Garmadon and Skylor recieve snake tails despite clearly not being the Anacondrai general. This season mentions there's multiple generals in the Anacondrai tribe, yet we're only shown Anacondrai with the tail. Not a single one with legs or distinct designs. The lack of a resemblance to Pythor's markings, colors and head/neck shape is enraging enough but the absolute lack of diversity in their designs is so painful to watch as someone who literally has a degree in media design. They make it look like Pythor, even pre-bleach, like a completely different type of Serpentine while all the others are the same bland carbon copies of each other. They're literally my least favorite tribe because of this and I don't even have any Serpentine minifigures yet (except Crystalized Aspheera, but I'm getting to her later anyway) but even if I did, I wouldn't want to display them. I'd willingly display any Serpentine tribe except the Anacondrai. And that's saying something for someone who finds the designs of the Vermillion reminiscent of guts and thus dislikes them.

On the topic of the Vermillion, why not briefly discuss why there's not a single one of those with a Serpentine tail? Easy: they're the tiny baby snakes that just somehow through Ninjago logic can form human-sized Serpentine that can talk and do everything perfectly. They're basically just the little baby snakes though, and last I checked babies can't take over leadership positions.

Now, a brief look at Aspheera because people don't like that she has the ghost tail in sets instead of the Serpentine tail. And that's also really easy to answer: she's not a general, she's a sorceress. Not a general. Yes, she has a tail in the show but she has a completely different rank from the other Hypnobrai of her time that we know of (btw, I love that Char is in the flashbacks with her (except when she frees Wu and Garmadon), that's so cute imo). Speaking of Hypnobrai, did you pay attention to her in the flashbacks vs. her when she's released from the pyramid? When she's young she has Hypnobrai markings on her head but when she is free she doesn't. Why? I'd say it's like the earlier mention of markings, like how the general has their own distinct markings for whoever takes that spot & that exiled Serpentine (remember, she was to be magically entombed for her crime of overthrowing the king) just lose their markings altogether so you can easier identify those that are no longer a part of the tribe. There, problem solved. And for the question on how she could absorb fire and crystal powers? Simple: sorceress. She ccould've probably used Nya's water in crystalized too, if not for the New Ninja and police coming to lock the ninja up.

Also.. The pyro vipers? They're mummies. I assume they've been long dead even before Aspheera and the pyramids lava 'ignited'/revived them. I've no guess what tribe they could've been from but I definitely doubt that it would be a fire-related one. However, the Hypnobrai evolved physically and changed into the type that we've known since 2012 some time after Aspheera got locked in the pyramid. I also like that we got to see the Hypnobrai no longer being purely blue/grey with some yellow but that there's also some pink and purple ones now. That is, what I would say, a result of the four Serpentine tribes being locked under Ninjago city and uniting in more ways than just "we're all friends now".

What does FSM do to Aspheera bc one thing that is constant w/ Dragons in a lot of shows and movies including Ninjago is that if you mess with someone they care about, get ready to die.

Basically the instinct to protect to what the heck would FSM do when Aspheera comes out and attacks the ninja. Logically he'd be pissed bc 'This the SECOND TIME'.

And i think a lot of other villains might get the same-

You are absolutely right.

He is extremely pissed.

But before I get into the events of season 11 I’ve decided this also needs backstory (It really doesn’t but too bad).

First of all, the whole thing about Garmadon and Wu getting into trouble for going into serpentine territory even though they are human is so so dumb, because they’re not. And, they’re the sons of the First Spinjitzu Master, so why would they get in trouble? Which is why I'm taking this ask as an opportunity to retcon it.

They first reason they got in trouble for it is that they were grounded at the time and snuck out when Fsm was busy. The second is that when they snuck in the Serpentine Lands they made the active decision to shapeshift into humans to see what would happen if they got caught.

Now, because most people of the time didn’t know what the Fsm and their family looked like, particularly in their human forms, the Serpentine who then caught them didn't know who their were, and were outraged at the audacity of the “humans”. They brought them before King Mambo, who decided that they would be held in a cell as punishment for potentially upsetting the truce until he could contact their father (who he was friends with).

Fsm was disappointed in them for sneaking out and potentially upsetting the truce. So he asked King Mambo to continue holding them in the cell overnight as punishment until he had some free time to go and collect them.

The thing is, King Mambo forgot to tell Wu and Garmadon that they were only going to be in the cell until their father could pick them up, so when Aspheera made a deal to break them out, they took the chance to get home before Fsm could find out.

Of course, when they got home, Fsm did in fact know about it, and made them return to the Serptenine Lands to apologise to King Mambo. But Fsm didn't punish them further, and their grounding ended a few days later. After all, he had done much stupider things when he was younger, and quite frankly, they would be concerned if their children weren't causing problems for the land he had created.

The rest of the story happens as usual from there: Wu teaches Aspheera spinjitzu, she overthrows Mambo, and starts waging war on the nearby human lands. Wu and Garmadon, who were very young at this time (I'm going with the dragoni equivalent of 6 and 9), weren't very good at controlling their powers. They also knew that their father could sense their powers and didn't want him to find out about all this. That's why they used the Scrolls of Forbidden Spinjitzu.

Now, the reason Fsm didn't know about it is because he was busy doing administrative work for a new city in Metalonia. But when he came back they were furious. This sorceress thinks she can manipulate HIS child for her own gain?! Their protectiveness over their children outweighed any need to punish his children. That, and the fact that they were very young. He didn't expect them to know better at that point. In fact, he's the one that ordered Aspheera to be magically intombed.

Now, on to season 11.

When Aspheera is freed, Fsm doesn’t notice because he’s back in the First Realm dealing with the fallout of Omega's invasion and all the politics behind that. They feel a slight disturbance when the tomb is unsealed but he’s so busy that checking it out doesn’t make it onto his priority list.

At this point in the timeline Wu and Garmadon have enough power to fight alongside the ninja as well as travel to nearby realms, but neither of them fight Aspheera in Ninjago City, cause well, they don’t realise it’s happening.

When Aspheera attacks the monastery, it is only due to the power of the Forbidden Scroll that she manages to banish Zane to the Never Realm. After that, she barely escapes with her life because Wu is also part dragon, and he was not happy that Aspheera banished Zane.

After Zane is banished, Wu travels to the First Realm to get his father so he can deal with it. His plan was to get Fsm to collect Zane while he, Garmadon, and the Ninja dealt with Aspheera. This plan doesn’t happen, because the First Spinjitzu Master was enraged that Aspheera was released (not at Lloyd, they could never be mad at their darling grandson) and was coming after their son.

Because the thing is, the First Spinjitzu Master hates Aspheera. She overthrew King Mambo, tried to send Ninjago into another war, and, most importantly manipulated and hurt their children. It was only due to Wu’s attachment to her that he did not smite her down where she stood after they found out about her coup. And her release activated every draconic instinct in him to protect his family, and to destroy the thing that was hurting them.

He hunts Aspheera down through the city, destroying her fire snakes as he goes. The ground quite literally trembles from his rage. And when they do find her, she doesn’t get a chance to even try to defend herself before he strikes. Since she stole the element of fire from its rightful owner, they burn Aspheera from the inside, until she crumbles into ash.

The ninja, and the rest of Ninjago, have the honour of watching God smite Aspheera on live tv.

After that Fsm does actually go and collect Zane, who unfortunately has not escaped Vex and everything that comes with that. Luckily, Fsm also kills Vex, this time by slowly and painfully freezing him to death (disney's frozen style). And Zane returns to Ninjago safe, but unfortunately still with the trauma.

The First Spinjitzu Master does deal with a few other villain's for the ninja, but not all of them. He does want to give the ninja some opportunities to practice their abilities after all.

my thoughts for ninjago: dragons rising season 2, part i: (spoliers ahead)

- OH MY GOD NINJAGO IF YOU START MAKING ME THINK THAT GEO'S GONNA DO A WHOLE SCENE WITH COLE THEN I EXPECT LIKE...A MORE WHOLESOMETHING OR I DUNNO SHHSJAHSGJAHSGSHHS

basically, in the first scene of the ep its literally geo reliving his romantic time with cole and saying that he cant do things without him. and then when cole came back, it was so disappointing. like cant you have geo acting like he is in love with cole romantically or something? that scene felt empty

- bonzle is trans. like she becomes something that she feels better being and "comes out" to her "parent"/creator and the sorceress (i cannot remember her name) loves her the way she is. thats very sweet. (sora would be jealous)

- the nonbinary algae farmer shows up again! yayyyy (in the episode featuring dorama)

- theres a lot of glaciershipping moments here. makes me want to ship them more

- cinder reminds me of macaque from monkie kid. actually for a while i thought they shared the same actor...but they didnt

- woah jay appeared. whats up with him only getting less than a minute to appear on screen

- there were a few wyldcat moments if theres people who still support that

- jordana kind of reminds me of (the?) spot from across the spiderverse. like a wannabe villian and kinda succeeds type thing

Theories and predictions:

I think Forbidden Five might have been the non-dragon students Rontu and Egalt trained, but went evil instead and the two had to stop them before they destroyed the realms.

Zane's going to have an arc or something about being a nindroid and it involves his personhood. Maybe Bonzle will be there too.

Sora being the one that actually ended the ritual and hiding the truth is going to have consequences.

I WAS NOT READY for season 2 part 1

(I'm spoiling pretty much everything below the cut)

This was everything I wanted and more (not to say it doesn't have its issues, but still)

I know some people were grumbling about Lloyd taking Zane's role of being the vision haver but I honestly like how they handled it. Because it feels an awful lot like a PTSD allegory. Like, Arin is literally like "you've been through a lot, maybe it's catching up to you" or smthn like that, the visions showing up at random and inconvenient times during the day, being unavoidable but they can be lived with, panic attacks, so am I the only one seeing this??? This does some interesting things to my Lloyd PTSD headcanons... another thing is the two people that have had visions are the two most likely people to have PTSD imo, so... there's that...

Lloyd verbally acknowledges having panic attacks which caught me so off guard for a show to sell toys to eight year old boys. It wasn't like puss and boots level of panic attacks, definitely not given that much focus, but it was there. Lloyd canonically has panic attacks!!

I know it's a kid's show, but I feel like they could have handled the sleep deprivation a bit better than "Lloyd is falling asleep all the time," like there's so many other ways you could convey that, at least vary it a bit. They hammer this point into the ground and I feel like kids aren't that dense, and would understand it even with half of the random falling asleep replaced with irritability, zoning out, or other stuff like that idk.

I WAS NOT READY for Kai to get sacrificed. When they were talking about human sacrifices I was like "nah ninjago would never go that far, that pretty much confirms that either the sacrifices aren't actually necessary or the forbidden five don't get brought back," then Kai literally gets sent to the backrooms with no way out.

And Bonzle. BONZLE. Need I say more? Wish she had gotten more focus though. The sorceress felt like a d&d oc shoved in last minute though, and her design was so chaotic it was distracting from the show for me. Probably just me though, I like order. She's fun, I just wish they'd either given her an arc or given that focus to Bonzle.

Internally screaming when Nya says "Jay would never forget me" and when Jay showed up. I really hope they give him enough time to shine.

Ras literally runs and catches up to a moving car and knocks out a dragon in a single hit. Bros insane. I guess the blood moon just makes him physically stronger? They didn't really elaborate what the blood moon does to Ras and why. But he's an actually competent villain, which Ninjago is in short supply of.

Cole literally said "Come at me (bro)" to the Administration.

Speaking of Cole, Geo misses him!! I'm way overhyped for this couple, but this is the closest thing we'll get to a canon gay couple in ninjago. Lego doesn't have the balls to actually show them kissing or being a couple, not with their show that gets aired all over the world to sell legos. I'm gonna go rewatch the land of lost things episode from s1 later.

The timeline is even more messed up now though. If Cole only just returned, when were the Mech Pilot shorts supposed to happen? We'll see what the creators say on Twitter lol.

Ending this off on a positive note, the found family is gonna kill me. Arin literally seeing Lloyd and Nya as his parents was gold. Oh man Ras slammed the poor boy around a lot, physically and mentally. Just let both Arin and Sora realize they're not useless. Nahhh the angst is too good.

Death of destiny au Garmafam.

Misako, Garmadon, Skylor, Lloyd, and Unagami.

And a bit more info about the au!

So, the whole things actually starts right after the FSM imprisoned the Overlord on the Dark Island. He's realized that the two of them are equally matched, and even though FSM has managed to stop the Overlord for now, he would never be able to permanently stop him.

FSM travels to Cloud Kingdom, gifting the inhabitants the magic destiny-altering scrolls and quills and ink, and tasking them with finding a way to permanently end the Overlord.

From there, the Green Ninja Prophecy is written, and the scribes of Cloud Kingdom spend the next few millennia rewriting the lives of the citizens of Ninjago to try and fulfill the Prophecy.

Things go as cannon until Garmadon gets banished. Misako, instead of trying to just research the Prophecy and find a way to get around it, decides that the best way to save both Garm and Lloyd from the Prophecy is to take Lloyd and raise him to be evil with Garmadon.

The lead scribe (Fenwick? Was that that fuckers name?) doesn't think anything of this, writing off her efforts as too futile to even be a threat to their plan (cannon. The plan is everything that happens in cannon).

After all, what can a single mortal woman do against the power of Destiny?

A whole fuckin lot, actually.

Misako studies dark magic, takes control of the Stone Army, and breaks Garmadon out of the Underworld while Lloyd is still young, no older than a toddler.

The couple then turn their attention to conquering Ninjago, and raising Lloyd together.

Lloyd being raised by a demon warlord and a dark sorceress who absolutely adore him leads him to genuinely wanting to be just like them, and the Green Ninja proudly proclaiming that he wants to be evil, and actually meaning it, breaks the Prophecy.

And all the scrolls in Cloud Kingdom, freeing everyone in Ninjago from the grips of destiny.

Which leads to many characters forging different paths for themselves, like Skylor. She escaped from Chen's island when Clouse finally has enough and stages a mutiny, and gets caught trying to steal supplies from a camp of Garmadon soldiers. Garmisako realize that she's the Elemental Master of Amber (which is a Wild Element in my sort of expanded Ninjago lore), and decide to take her in.

They raise her like she's their own, and after some time passes Skylor comes to view them fully as her parents, and Lloyd as her little brother. As a teen, she is a brutal second-in-command to her parents.

Confession time, I still haven't fully seen S12 yet, but I know enough about Unagami to throw him in there too. He's found by or reaches out to the Garmadons, starts working with them, and quickly becomes friends with Lloyd.

The little drone thing is one of many that Unagami uses to interact with the physical world, haven't decided if/when he can start trapping people in the digital world, or what that would be used for.

Lloyd is a chaotic gremlin of the highest degree, fights with a mech, and also has a stinger hidden in that tuft on the end of his tail.

They're all Disney villains, and having an absolute blast menacing the entire continent of Ninjago together.

Hey i love all the ghost warriors so i'm giving the main trio backstories.

In order to make these backstories you need to remember all ghosts were either disgraced in battle, Or they offended the FSM.

First up: (mama) Bansha

Bansha in the Wiki is described as a Sorceress, so bare with me here.

Basically, during ninjago's version of the salem witch trials happened. Bansha was still fairly young when it happened, circa 18-21. So, while this is going down, She started an orphanage for children who had lost their mothers to the trials. during the running of her orphanage, the children described her as a "mermaid", from her beautiful singing voice.

(From the creatures Banshee, Siren, And Mermaids being so similar in using vocal abilities, i feel like they could be mushed and or reshaped in death to take many different 'cursed' forms.)

From being described a mermaid, the government of the town she was in began to get suspicious that she was a witch/Sorceress. So, they did a bit of deep diving/spying. (its definetly spying) and found out she wasn't (insert whatever religion the ninjagians follow). Her practices confused the government, leading to the forced closure of her orphanage.

This outraged her, and her sorceress 'sisters', prompting a town internal war, resulting in spikes in divorce rates, missing persons cases, and even the murder of a high class male of the concil in the village.

The village decided to try her for witchcraft (from how i remember it) They placed a rock on her head (a bit too hard, such the scar on the back of her head) If she drowned, She wasnt a witch. If she lived? She would loose all of her possessions, including the land she bought out in plan to build a new orphanage. But if she didn't take the trial, she would loose everything.

So, she drowned, resulting in her voice being scruff and raspy from the salt water. She hoped the other hidden sorceress would find her plans for an orphanage for the young, and continue training them until they had become strong enough to overthrow the horrible government of the town.

Well.

She guesses they never did.

(Sidenote: Due to Rie's vocal abilities and how she uses her voice, Bansha treats Rie like her own sorceress 'sister' or 'daughter'. Sister meaning companion, Daughter meaning aprrentice. I feel like despite how Bansha sounds she'd make an amazing mother figure, just because of how she deals with Morro, morro being sixteen in silverwinds cannon. The way she helps him by doing as much as she can, knowing she probobly wont gain even an ounce of freedom from this, gives me pure mama vibes.)

Edit: Her crime was offending the first spinjitzu master by cohersing an entire town to war, which goes against the FSM code (bc religion )
